Oxytocin, a powerful hormone which acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain is produced by the hypothalamus. It is stored and secreted by the posterior gland. To buy oxytocin one has to get the approval of the regulatory body and then only one can purchase oxytocin from a licensed medical practitioner with a written prescription from a specialist. This peptide has not hit the market yet and is a research drug now. It has not been made available to general public in any form. Though some of them claim that this being a peptide produced in the human body does not need any authorisation from regulatory bodies but strictly this peptide is under the regulatory bodies and any illegal use without the prescription from a specialist will be dealt under law and is a criminal offence.
