The NHL on TSN makes its regular season debut today with the Los Angeles Kings taking on the New York Rangers in Stockholm, Sweden on TSN and the Anaheim Ducks facing the Buffalo Sabres in Helsinki, Finland on TSN2. If hes able to see that puck from wherever its being shot, then hes going to be able to stop it.” The Rangers and the Kings are coming off first-round playoff eliminations, and both teams have made key acquisitions to try to make deeper postseason runs in the spring. New York is counting on Brad Richards to lead the top line alongside top scorer Marian Gaborik. Richards signed a nine-year, $60 million deal with the Rangers. Los Angeles bolstered its offense by getting Philadelphia captain Mike Richards and signing Simon Gagne. Drew Doughty, who became one of the leagues top paid defencemen after signing an eight-year, $56 million contract last week, will also be making his season debut. The Ducks take on the Sabres in Helsinki with with Finnish stars Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu being the main attraction. Anaheim will also have Jonas Hiller back in net. After winning 30 games in 2009-10, he played just 83 minutes following his first All-Star game appearance last season, suffering from an apparent bout of vertigo. Where the Sabres are concerned, new owner Terry Pegula reached into his pocketbook and enabled GM Darcy Regier to add defencemen Robyn Regehr and Christian Ehrhoff, along with forward Ville Leino.
