FORT MYERS, Fla. http://www.nfljetsus.com/Womens-Eric-Decker-Authentic-Jersey/ . -- Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said closer Andrew Bailey will travel to Boston on Monday to have his right thumb examined. Valentine made the announcement after Sundays 5-1 win over Minnesota Twins. Bailey, who was acquired in a December trade with the Athletics, has not pitched in a major league game since March 25, against the Blue Jays in Dunedin. He pitched 1 2/3 innings in a minor league game on Wednesday. Bailey was delayed at the start of spring training because of a strained lat suffered during the vertical leap portion of his entrance physical. In addition to the minor league outing, he has pitched six innings in six Grapefruit League games this spring, with an 0-1 record and a 4.50 ERA. The extent of Baileys problem is not known. Valentine said it began bothering Bailey during the March 21 game in Bradenton against the Pirates, but Valentine was not made aware of it until Friday. After his outing on Wednesday, Bailey didnt mention any problem, saying: "Ill probably go two out of three (days) and then probably have the two days off, in (Washington,) D.C., and the off day (Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively)," he said. "And then be ready for opening day. So well probably do a game, off, game, and then the two days off and then opening day. "Im ready to roll. Looking forward to it." The extent of Baileys problem is not known. Valentine said it began bothering Bailey during the March 21 game in Bradenton against the Pirates, but Valentine was not made aware of it until Friday. "Everything that Ive been searching my mind through," Valentine said. "He had the collision at first base in Bradenton, and when he went down, everything that I could think of that maybe he went down after the collision, and with the adrenaline didnt even realize that anything happened. I asked everyone if theyd seen anything, asked the weight room, and he doesnt have anything. So, well see." Bailey missed time with injuries each of the past two seasons. He began last season on the disabled list with the Athletics because of a strained right forearm. He missed time in 2010 with a right intercostal strain then made his final appearance on Sept. 17 before undergoing right elbow surgery on Sept. 24. If Bailey is put on the disabled list or unavailable for a stretch, the Red Sox have options to close. Earlier in the day, Valentine announced the final two spots in the rotation will be filled by left-hander Felix Doubront and right-hander Daniel Bard. They will join Jon Lester, Josh Beckett, and Clay Buchholz. Right-hander Alfredo Aceves, who was also vying for one of the rotation spots, will go to the bullpen, partly because of his versatility and experience there. Valentine said Sunday morning part of the decision was because of a health issue for one of the other relievers, which was revealed later in the day. "It seems that with Aceves being the very key component three days ago hes even more of a key component now," Valentine said. Calvin Pryor Two Tone Jersey .ca. Hi Kerry, In Game 2 of the Canadiens-Bruins series, could you explain how the interference to Tuukka Rask by Brandon Prust, which appeared to prevent him from getting back into position and be ready for Mike Weavers shot (which produced Montreals first goal) differed from the situation you described in the first series when Carey Price was interfered with and - as you answered then - was correctly waved off as a no goal? Thanks!Rhonda McClure Rhonda: The primary difference between the two plays, both of which resulted in significant contact with the goalkeepers inside their crease, is that Brandan Prust was pushed/cross-checked from behind onto Tuukka Rask by his defenceman (Andrej Meszaros) which negated interference on the goalkeeper as spelled out in rule 69. Eric Decker Grey Jersey . -- Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig says the sports revenue could top $9 billion this year.DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a two-year contract with Joey MacDonald, bringing the 31-year-old veteran back as the teams No. 3 goaltender. Detroit hasnt settled who else will be around to back up starter Jimmy Howard, but the Red Wings felt MacDonald was worth keeping in the system. He went 5-5-3 with a 2.58 goals-against average in 15 games for Detroit last season. He also played in 20 games for Grand Rapids of the AHL. "He gives us good depth, gives us good insurance," general manager Ken Holland said Monday. Detroit signed Howard to a two-year, US$4.5 million deal in February, but the rest of its goalie situation has been somewhat muddled. Chris Osgood, the teams No. 2 goalie last season, played in only 11 games -- none after undergoing ssports hernia surgery in January. Custom Jets Jersey. . MacDonald stepped in to back up Howard. He posted a .917 save percentage, including his second career shutout on March 17 at Columbus. MacDonald has a 3.19 career goals-against average in 87 games with Detroit, Boston, the New York Islanders and Toronto. Holland said MacDonalds contract is a two-way deal for the first year. Financial terms were not released. Holland said MacDonalds role in 2011-12 will likely be similar to what it was last season, when he split time between the minors and the Red Wings. Detroit is still in the market for a No. 2 goaltender, be it Osgood or somebody else. Holland said he planned to talk with the 38-year-old Osgood this week. Osgood did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment. ' ' ' |
