Carlos Quentin followed with a base hit before Konerko knocked in Ramirez to put Chicago ahead by a 5-4 count. Rich Hill spelled Albers, but after walking Adam Dunn, exited the game favoring his left elbow. Daniel Bard came on to fan Lillibridge and get Omar Vizquel on a grounder to limit the damage. The Red Sox never threatened the rest of the way, and Konerko hit a two-run shot over the Green Monster in the ninth to provide insurance for the visitors. Boston picked up three runs in the second inning, as Jed Lowries ground-rule double scored one and Saltalamacchia followed two batters later with a two-run single. Chicago equalized with one run in the fourth -- a Lillibridge RBI double -- then two more in the fifth on an RBI groundout from Ramirez and a run-scoring double from Quentin. Lillibridge cleared the Monster with one out in the sixth to put the White Sox up 4-3, but Ortiz countered in the home half.
