INDIANAPOLIS -- Michigan coach John Beilein had watched his team blow almost all of a 15-point lead, and he was sure he knew how Tennessee would try to take the lead. Cliff Avril Jersey . With 6 seconds left and trailing 72-71, Cuonzo Martin would probably send the ball into Jarnell Stokes, who would try to back into the post or drive. Beilein urged his defenders to buckle down and keep Stokes away from the rim. Jordan Morgan, who scored 15 points, heeded his coachs advice and stood his ground until Stokes lowered his shoulder. The senior forward immediately crashed to the floor -- perhaps embellishing the contact -- but drawing the call that saved the game for Michigan and infuriated Tennessees "Rocky Top" contingent. Big Ten player of the year Nik Stauskas of Mississauga, Ont., made a late free throw and nobody was more relieved than Beilein when Jordan McRaes 70-foot heave fell harmlessly to the floor as the buzzer sounded on a 73-71 Michigan victory. "We got just enough stops," Beilein said. Tennessee thought they got one stop unfairly. "With the magnitude of this game, I dont think you could call a charge at that point," McRae said dejectedly after scoring 24 points. But the officials did call it, allowing Michigan to reach a second straight regional final. The Wolverines (28-8) have won 10 of their last 11, none as tenuous or excruciating as this one to set up a Sunday showdown against eighth-seeded Kentucky, the 2012 national champion. The Wildcats won 74-69 over fourth-seeded Louisville, which beat Michigan in last years national championship game. Tennessee almost pulled off one of the most stunning comebacks in recent regional memory. With 10:55 to go, Spike Albrechts layup gave Michigan a seemingly insurmountable 60-45 lead. When Stauskas made the last of his three 3-pointers with 3:40 to go, the Wolverines still led 70-60. Stauskas finished with 14 points. For some reason, Michigan went into panic mode and, just two weeks after nearly blowing two big leads in the Big Ten tournament, they nearly threw this one away. The Volunteers staunch defence limited Michigan to just one basket over the final 3:40 and forced four turnovers in the final 97 seconds to give themselves a chance in the closing seconds. "I dont think I fouled him," said Stokes, who had 11 points and six rebounds after two straight double-doubles. "But it was a smart play for him to try to take the charge. He pretty much anticipated it." Just as Beilein had predicted. For most of the night, Michigan relied on its shooting stars to stay in control against a defence that had allowed just 54.0 points in its previous eight games. The Wolverines took a 13-point lead in the first half and still led 45-34 at halftime because they were shooting 61.5 per cent from the field and made 7 of 9 on 3-pointers. Michigan didnt slow down early in the second half, either, taking the biggest lead of the game at 60-45. But somehow Tennessee played itself right back into the game. The 11th-seeeded Vols, who had a first-round game in overtime at Dayton, Ohio, just to start their surprising post-season run, cut the deficit to 62-56 with 6:45 left. They got within 72-67 when McRae completed a three-point play with 1:56 to go. They made it 72-69 when Josh Richardson scored the last of his 19 points on a layup with 24.6 seconds left. McRaes layup following another Michigan turnover made it 72-71 with 10.8 seconds remaining. So when the officials ruled Michigans Caris LeVert caught the ball with one foot on the baseline and 9.6 seconds left, Martin made the smart call by giving Stokes a chance to win it with a basket or draw the foul. "We got the ball to Jarnell. Jordan set a screen for him to get him right to isolate him, attack him in the middle," Martin explained. "Obviously we got the ball where we wanted." However, the call went against them. "We heard all week about they had mismatches and how we couldnt guard them inside," Morgan said after letting out a scream at the end. "Were not really soft around here. Thats not who we are." Jermaine Kearse Elite Jersey . Spieth again showed game well beyond his 20 years with a 9-under 63 on the North Course, giving him a one-shot lead over StewartCink going into the weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open. Kam Chancellor Jersey . Ames was unanimously named for induction into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame on Wednesday, becoming the 74th member of the countrys golfs shrine. MALMO, Sweden -- Providences Jon Gillies made 23 saves to help the United States open its world junior title defence with a 5-1 victory over the Czech Republic on Thursday. Miami of Ohios Riley Barber, Denvers Will Butcher, Minnesotas Hudson Fasching, Colorado Colleges Jaccob Slavin and Notre Dames Vince Hinostroza scored for the United States. "Its always good to get the cobwebs out and get a convincing win," Barber said. Barber and Butcher scored power-play goals in a 41-second span early in the first period. "When you get the two power-play goals to begin the game and can play with the lead its much, much easier to play the game," said coach Don Lucia of the University of Minnesota. "Ouur defence did a good job breaking us out and Jon Gillies was there when we needed him. Ricardo Lockette Jersey. " Michal Plutnar had a third-period goal for the Czech Republic. In the other Group A game, Anthony Mantha scored three goals in Canadas 7-2 victory over Germany. Josh Anderson, Bo Horvat, Sam Reinhart, Nic Petan added goals for Canada. The U.S. will play Slovakia on Saturday, Germany on Sunday, and finish group play Tuesday against Canada. In Group B, Sweden beat Switzerland 5-3, and Russia routed Norway 11-0. Filip Forsberg, Christian Djoos, Andreas Johnson, Oskar Sundqvist and Lukas Bengtsson scored for Sweden. Anton Slepyshev, Nikita Zadorov and Vadim Khlopotov each scored twice for Russia.cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

LOS ANGELES -- Staring down the prospect of an 0-3 series deficit, the Anaheim Ducks finally figured out a way to beat the Los Angeles Kings. Sealver Siliga Womens Jersey . Even if that way involved a third-period goalie change, two unlikely power-play goals and another wild finish. "Its been like this all year," TeemuSelanne said. "We sell tickets. You never know whats going to happen in our games, but weve got to try to make it a little easier." Selanne scored the tiebreaking power-play goal late in the second period, CoreyPerry got his first goal of the series, and the Ducks beat the Kings 3-2 on Thursday night to trim Los Angeles series lead to 2-1. Anaheim snapped the Kings six-game post-season winning streak. BenLovejoys goal with 2:55 to play turned out to be the winner after two earlier goals from the Ducks long-struggling power play. MikeRichards then scored for the Kings with 30 seconds left, but the top-seeded Ducks hung on for just their third win in their last seven playoff games. "It feels good to put a seed of doubt in their mind, hopefully," Lovejoy said. "The Ducks are coming." Game 4 is Saturday night at Staples Center. JonasHiller made seven saves in the final 9:58 after rookie goalie FrederikAndersen left with a right leg injury for the Ducks, who bounced back from two narrow losses in Anaheim to open the series. Andersen was solid in Game 3 until getting hurt during a wild scramble midway through the third period. Hiller had to make two tough saves immediately after entering the game, but the Swiss goalie finished strong despite Richards late goal on a midair rebound of TannerPearsons shot while JonathanQuick was pulled for an extra attacker. "Its a challenge for a goalie to come in like that, but it seems like this season is a lot of back-and-forth play," Hiller said. "We were just glad we finally scored three goals in a game." Anaheim scored just three goals total in two games at Honda Center to open the local rivals first playoff meeting. The Ducks regained their edge Thursday, while the Kings struggled to respond in front of their home fans. JeffCarter had a goal and an assist, and Quick stopped 19 shots for the Kings, who hadnt lost since Game 3 of their stunning first-round series against San Jose. "Anytime you are down in a series, you are going to come in desperate, and we had to match that desperation," Kings centre JarretStoll said. "I dont think we did that. We didnt have it tonight. We werent good enough in a lot of areas." Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau curiously changed starting goalies for Game 3, replacing Hiller with Andersen, the Danish rookie who played poorly in all three road games in the first round against Dallas. Boudreau repeatedly said Hiller had played well against the Kings in the first two games, giving up just five goals, but Andersen beat Los Angeles three times in the regular season, while Hiller is winless in his career at Staples Center. The Ducks didnt have the same vociferous road support enjoyed by the Kings at Honda Center earlier in the series, but Anaheim still silenced Staples Center just 4:06 into Game 3. RyanGetzlaf got the puck down low to PatrickMaroon, who found Perry in the slot for his third goal of the post-season. Perry, second in the NHL with 43 goals in the regular season, hadnt scored in the series. The Kings evened it when MarianGaborik set up a one-timer for Carter, who hadnt scored a goal in the Kings last four playoff games. Anaheim couldnt score during a 4-on-3 advantage for 59 seconds late in the period, but NickBonino found Selanne with a saucer pass for the Finnish Flashs 44th career goal in 126 post-season games. MattBeleskey went to the dressing room early in the third period after a hard hit on the boards by Kings captain DustinBrown. The Ducks said Beleskey had a lower-body injury. Lovejoy scored his second goal of the post-season on a 2-on-1 rush with AndrewCogliano, sending Kings fans to the exits. NOTES: Maroon extended his scoring streak to six games, the longest post-season streak by a rookie since Los Angeles Warren Rychel in 1993. ... AnzeKopitar, who had an assist, has a point in all 10 of the Kings playoff games. The last Kings player with a 10-game point streak in a single post-season was WayneGretzky in 1993. ... The Ducks are staying in a hotel across the street until Saturday, but theyll take a bus 30 miles back home to Anaheim for practice Friday. Rob Ninkovich Womens Jersey . OTTAWA -- A week ago it was unthinkable, but the Ottawa Senators are back in playoff contention. cheap jerseys from china . AlesHemsky scored the only goal of the shootout Monday night as the Senators earned a huge 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Hemsky moved in and fired a shot off the post and into the back of the net behind goaltender CamWard to give the Senators their third straight win, and fourth in their past fifth games. They have nine points over that stretch. As it stands now, the Senators are in 12th in the Eastern Conference four points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets, who currently possess the second wild-card berth with 82 points. The Hurricanes are seven back. "All Im doing is going game-by-game still. We won today, now we have to get ready for Wednesday and again well see where we are at (in) 82 games," said Senators coach Paul MacLean. CraigAnderson stopped all three Carolina shooters, including EliasLindholm with the final shot to earn the victory. MikaZibanejad scored in regulation for the Senators (32-29-14) while Anderson made 30 saves. JeffSkinner had the Carolina goal while Ward backstopped the Hurricanes (32-32-11) through regulation with 28 saves. Coincidental minor penalties in overtime meant the teams played two minutes of three-on-three hockey. KyleTurris had the best opportunity for the Senators during that span but his shot went over the net. Alex Semin had Anderson beat on a two-on-one but his backhand went wide. "Structure wise we werent really sure what to do, but you need guys that are creative and are able to beat guys one-on-one because thats what it comes down to," Senators defenceman MarcMethot said of the rare three-on-three. "The guys handled it well." There was very little in the way of scoring opportunities through most of the third period. That changed in the final few minutes as both teams started to apply pressure as neither wanted the other to claim a bonus point in the tight playoff race. "There were definitely opportunities and a little spark at the end. The fans started getting into it knowing the pressure of the last five minutes and that any mistake could be in the back of the net," said Hurricanes forward JordanStaal. "It raised the intensity of the game for sure." The way the first period started it seemed as though the goaltenders were going to have nightmares even before they went to bed. The score was tied 1-1 before the five-minute mark and the non-defensive style was allowing for several opportunities on both sides. Zibanejad opened the scoring at 1:41 of the first period when he deflected a PatrickWiercioch point shot past Ward. The play was reviewed but quickly announced that the call on the ice stood and it was in fact a goal. "Youve got to look at it as a lucky break on their side, and just get ready for the next shot," Ward said of the goal. "The puck was bouncing a little more than I would have liked, but other than that we gave our team a chance to win. Unfortunately, it doesnt feel good to lose in a shootout." Zibanejad continues to improve on his career-high numbers as he now has 14 goals and 29 points in 64 games. "Lately weve been taking it one game at a time. Its cliche but we are. And were doing whatever we can to make sure we get the points," said Zibanejad. "The pressure is not on us, the pressure is on the teams above us and by winning were putting more pressure on them." It wasnt all good news for the Senators though as ErikKarlsson gave the puck away behind his own goal and then was the last player to touch it before it went into the back of the Ottawa goal behind Anderson. Karlsson tried to sweep the puck around the boards behind the net but fanned on his attempt, giving skinner possession of the puck behind the goal. He danced from side-to-side before banking the puck off Karlsson and in to tie the game at the 4:03 mark. Notes- JasonSpezza, BobbyRyan, JaredCowen and ColinGreening were scratches for the Senators. The Twins will receive either a player to be named or cash for the 39-year-old veteran. Earlier in the day, the Royals put MiguelTejada on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right calf. The 39-year-old Tejada, who hurt himself diving for a ball on Saturday, was hitting .288 in 53 games and had won the starting second base job. Carroll singled and scored for the Twins in their 5-2 win over the Chicago White Sox. He is hitting .230 with nine RBIs. "If I can go there and contribute in a positive way, I know the team is playing extremely well right now and they have a bunch of good young guys and some great pitching," Carroll said. "It should be exciting to get over there and get in that clubhouse." Royals manager Ned Yoost was eager to have him. cheap jerseys. "JameyCarroll is a pros pro," Yost said after the Royals beat Boston 4-3. "Hes a very solid player. He hits left-handed pitching very well. He can play second, third and short in that order. When Moose (third baseman MikeMoustakas) needs a break, we can play him at third. Hes a very proficient third baseman, too." The Twins will make a corresponding roster move on Monday. "As much as anything, this is a deal for JameyCarroll to go on a team thats in a playoff race and go over there and add his professionalism and experience to that club and give them an opportunity to get into a race," Twins assistant GM Rob Antony said. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

ATLANTA - The Raptors will be without their sixth man for at least another week, they learned on Tuesday. Cheap England Soccer Jerseys . After a re-evaluation of the ulnar collateral sprain in his right elbow on Monday, PatrickPatterson, who has missed the teams last five contests, was ruled out of game action for another seven days, though he will be able to return to limited basketball activity. Patterson, wearing a supporting brace on his injured elbow as he got some work in during Raptors shootaround, was disappointed to hear the news. "[Its] more bad news than good," headmitted ahead of Tuesdays game in Atlanta. "I had hopes that I would be able to come out here and participate with the team and get back to basketball." The Raptorsversatile back-up said hes experiencing very little pain in his right arm, just discomfort, one of the reasons why he had hoped to be back on the court by now. "From when it initially happened up until now I had pain, constantly, on the court, certain types of movements or certain types of contact would aggravate it," said Patterson, who leads all Toronto reserves in scoring, averaging 9.7 points along with 5.2 rebounds since being acquired fromSacramento on December 9. "But now, today, theres very little pain. All the movements that hurt before dont hurt now. In my mind, Im thinking I can [play] just going off that pain factor, but doing the ultrasound and seeing the images and seeing how far its come along to today, Im definitely happy to know how soon I can return." Its not clear exactly how Patterson initially sustained the injury. He believes it originallyoccurred in a game against the Wizards back in February and heaggravated it in a win over the Kings on March 7. "It is frustrating," he said, not being able to pinpoint exactly how he hurt his elbow. "If I knew what happened, hopefully I could prevent it from happening again." Patterson had become one of the teams most valuable andconsistent contributors, anchoring a second unit that has been much improvedsince his arrival in December. In his absence, Dwane Casey has used the trio of SteveNovak, ChuckHayes and TylerHansbrough as stopgaps off the bench. Unlike Patterson, a well-rounded, two-way player, his three replacements are best suited in situational roles. Each forward has stepped up to some degree, but Pattersons shoes have not been easy to fill. Without Patterson in the lineup over the previous five games, the Raptors bench has been outscored by a total of 50 points. The oppositions reserves have bested them by 65 alone over the last two contests. "At least we have to hold serve," Casey said of his second unit. "Weve got to find a go-to player or a guy that can produce for us, point-wise, with that second unit. Pat was giving us some points or at least spacing the floor for us where it did give [GreivisVasquez] opportunities to drive to the basket." Casey would not call the latest news on Pattersons injury a setback. The team was not expecting him to be able to return right away. The Raptors forward will be assessed again after this seven-day period and if the new timetable holds true he should miss another four-to-six games. "It could be worse, thats the way I always look at it," said Patterson. "Thats what my team and the training staff is telling me, it could be worse, but youre in a positive situation, at least you know where you stand and how soon you can come back." Cheap Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys . Sabathia did not get a decision on Monday against Tampa Bay, as he allowed three runs and eight hits in seven innings. Hes 13-4 on the year to go along with a 3.42 ERA. Since winning six decisions over a nine-start stretch, Sabathia is 0-1 over his last two outings, but still has only allowed more than three runs once in his previous 10 trips to the hill. wholesale nfl jerseys . The result was a game-winning, power-play goal. Chiasson snapped a third-period tie and lifted the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory on Monday night. The surging Montreal Canadiens will take aim at their seventh win in eight tries when they begin a four-game road trip with tonights clash against the Detroit Red Wings. You watch the game live on TSN at 7pm et/4pm pt or listen live on TSN Radio 690 Montreal. The Canadiens have won three straight and six of their past seven games, pushing them two points ahead of Tampa Bay for second place in the Atlantic Division. However, the Lightning, who host the New York Islanders on Thursday, do hold two games in hand over the Habs. Detroit, meanwhile, enters Thursday as one of four teams tied for the last two playoff berths in the Eastern Conference. With 80 points, the Red Wings are seven in back of Tampa Bay for last of the Atlantic Divisions three automatic playoff berths, meaning theyll likely need to claim one of the Easts two wild cards to qualify for a 23rd straight postseason. Columbus, Detroit, Toronto and Washington each have 80 points, but the Red Wings are the only team of that group in action on Thursday. The Blue Jackets and Red Wings have 10 games remaining in their regular-season schedules, while the Capitals and Maple Leafs have nine and eight games left, respectively. Montreal picked up its third straight win in Tuesdays home meeting against the lowly Buffalo Sabres. MaxPacioretty broke a scoreless deadlock with 9:07 to play and CareyPrice posted a 24-save shutout to lift the Canadiens to the 2-0 win over the basement-dwelling Sabres. Danny Briere added an insurance marker with Montreal on the power play at 16:54 of the third, while Price stood tall down the stretch to help kill off a late Canadiens penalty and secure his fifth shutout of the season and 24th of his career. "The goal is to make the playoffs," Briere remarked. "Were in control of our destiny and trying to rack up as many points as we can." The Canadiens won despite playing without forwards TravisMoen and DaleWeise, who were injured on the same shift in Monddays 2-1 shootout win in Boston.Cheap France Soccer Jerseys. Detroit, which will try to halt a two-game slide on Thursday, hasnt missed the playoffs since 1990. The Red Wings had a three-game winning streak snapped with Sundays overtime loss against visiting Minnesota and then fell 4-2 in an important road clash with Columbus on Tuesday. CamAtkinson scored the winning goal for the Blue Jackets in the third period of Tuesdays game, but the decisive tally did not come without controversy. Columbus grabbed a 3-2 lead at 6:58 of the third period. The team skated the other way on a 2-on-1 and MattCalvert let fly with a shot from the right wing that Red Wings goaltender JimmyHoward stopped before Atkinson knocked in the rebound. However, the net was dislodged by Atkinson before the puck crossed the line, but BrendanSmith had pushed Atkinson into the net and the refs ruled it a good goal. "They knocked the net off and they still score," a frustrated Howard said. "I guess its something to remember in the back of our minds, you knock the net off it, just throw (the puck) in there. It should count." RyanJohansen sealed the win for Columbus with an empty-net goal in the closing seconds. GustavNyquist had both goals for the Red Wings, while Howard made 24 stops on 27 shots. Beginning with Thursdays test, Detroit is playing four of its next five games on home ice. The Red Wings are only 15-11-10 as the host this season, but the club had won four straight in the Motor City before losing Sundays game against the Wild. Detroit is 2-0 against the Habs so far in 2013-14 and the clubs will meet once more in the regular season when Montreal hosts the Red Wings on April 5. The Red Wings have won four of five and six of eight overall in the series and have come out on top in the last two encounters at Joe Louis Arena. Montreal is opening a four-game road trip on Thursday and boasts a solid 20-14-2 record as the visiting club this season. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

ORLANDO, Fla. Joe Vellano Super Bowl Jersey . -- Orlando City Soccer has become Major League Soccers next expansion franchise. MLS commissioner Don Garber announced the franchise agreement with Orlando City on Tuesday at a community celebration near the site where a new downtown stadium will be constructed. Cheers, chants and dancing created a carnival-like atmosphere inside a venue in the heart of Orlandos downtown for the official announcement. It had been in the works since local officials approved a $20 million contribution last month to help the team build an $84 million, 18,000-seat stadium. Once construction is completed, the team will begin playing in MLS in the 2015 season. "Look, around you. Youre seeing history happening right now," Orlando City Soccer owner Flavio Augusto da Silva told a crowd of a few thousand purple-clad fans. "Youre all a part of it." Orlando City becomes MLS 21st franchise. It is the latest of four new franchises that Garber said in August that the league planned to add by 2020. New York is also getting a team in 2015. Garber said a final number is being worked out, but that he expects Orlando City to pay the same $70 million franchise expansion fee that recent previous MLS additions have paid. Both city and county officials previously approved the use of tourism taxes in recent months to help fund the construction costs for the new downtown soccer-specific stadium. That was the final hurdle the MLS said the city needed to clear to be awarded a team. The team was playing in the outdated Florida Citrus Bowl, which is configured primarily as a football venue with more than 60,000 seats. Tuesdays celebration was held at Cheyenne Saloon at Orlandos Church Street Station, which was also the location for the announcement of the citys other professional sports franchise -- the NBAs Orlando Magic -- in 1989. After relocating the team from Texas in 2011, Orlando City president Phil Rawlins made no secret that MLS expansion was the goal, predicting that it could happen within five years. But since its arrival, the team has developed a solid fan base playing the past three years as members of the minor league US Pro League, winning a pair of championships. Garber said capitalizing on that energy was a big key on expanding to Orlando now. "Orlando was ready," Garber said. "They were just aggressive with how quickly they wanted to come into the league. They were engaged with detailed negotiations with the city, the county and the state. All those pieces were coming together, and we wanted to ride that wave and capture the momentum." Rawlins said his prognostication in 2011 wasnt about wishful thinking, but more about belief in Orlando as a market. He echoed that sentiment on Tuesday. "When we moved here, people told me Orlando wasnt cool. They told me Orlando wasnt hip. Boy were they wrong," Rawlins said. Rawlins improved the teams financial standing significantly in February when he added da Silva, Brazilian native and businessman, as an investor and owner. Together they then ratcheted up his overtures to the city to work out public and private stadium partnership plan. That plan in the end calls for Orlando City to pay 50 per cent of the costs for construction of the new stadium, as well as for any cost overruns. The city and county will contribute a portion of its tourism taxes, and in turn own and operate the facility. The team will get all ticket revenue for its events and the city will retain money from events it holds there. As an expansion team, MLS also guarantees Orlando will host the leagues all-start game within five years. Akeem Ayers Jersey . Niko Gallego and Tony Abreu had RBI doubles for Arizona.RALEIGH, N.C. -- Coach KirkMuller and the rest of the Carolina Hurricanes are making the most of a makeshift lineup. Without No. 1 goalie CamWard and captain EricStaal, the Hurricanes stretched their winning streak to a season-high four games with a 2-1 victory over the Nashville Predators on Sunday night. "Momentum is a big thing," Muller said. AlexanderSemin and JeffSkinner both had a goal and an assist, and AntonKhudobin made 31 saves. Skinner netted the winner with 3:31 left on a shot from the right wing that slipped under goalie CarterHuttons pads for his team-leading 20th goal. He has scored six times during the winning streak. "Were just trying to keep this thing going right now," Skinner said. "Were being consistent in our game and playing solid for all 60 minutes." PatricHornqvist had tied it for Nashville with a power-play goal at 6:46 of the third period when he tipped in the puck at the right post for his ninth goal. But the Predators, who had earned points in four straight games, dropped their third in a row. The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead on Semins goal 4:28 into the game. Semin gathered the puck from behind the net and sent a shot in off of Huttons back. Nashville coach Barry Trotz wasnt pleased with either goal allowed by Hutton. "I thought we really held them down to no chances," Trotz said. "We got zero saves. (Skinners goal) wasnt much of a shot at all." The Predators will now return to Nashville for a five-game homestand after an 0-3 trip. "We should have had five or six points out of this trip," Trotz said. "We camee away with two, and thats discouraging. Chris Jones Super Bowl Jersey. We put ourselves in the position to get points, so we just need a save." Staal sat out after he sustained a lower-body injury Saturday night in a win at the New York Islanders. He could be sidelined for a few more days. Nashville, which avoided its first shutout against the Hurricanes, held a 32-25 shots advantage. The Predators went 1 for 2 on the power play and killed Carolinas two man-advantages. Khudobin, filling in for Ward, improved to 5-0 this season and helped the Hurricanes win both ends of a back-to-back set for the first time this season. "It wasnt easy at all," Khudobin said. "I was just doing my job, trying to stop the pucks. We know the situation right now with every game being important." Khudobin started his third straight game after missing 33 because of an ankle injury. Muller said it was a risk to go back to him after Khudobins 38-save effort against the Islanders. "We took a chance, three in four nights for him, but hes been playing well," Muller said. "We just went for it." The Hurricanes, in their third game in four nights, played well without Staal in the lineup. Staal, who missed his first game since Feb. 26, 2011, had played in 191 consecutive regular-season games -- the third longest streak in franchise history. He holds the team record of 349 straight games. NOTES: Skinner extended his point streak to five games. ... The Hurricanes activated D JayHarrison from the injured list and placed Ward on it, retroactive to Dec. 31. ... Hornqvist moved into a tie for seventh place on the Predators career goal list. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

TSN. Cliff Avril Womens Jersey .cas NHL Play of the Year showdown continues today with two titans of the Battle of Pennsylvania. The 13th match-up of the Round of 32 sees ClaudeGiroux go no-look, while EvgeniMalkin does the hard work to set up a gift for a teammate. Its not just that Giroux goes no-look, its that its one of the greatest blind shots youre likely to see. Picking a wild point shot rebound off the end boards, Giroux picks up the disc and gets sent to the ice by DavidSavard. While falling, though, he unleashes one heck of a shot. Falling, he lifts a backhander behind his back towards the net... and roofs it. Its not even like CurtisMcElhinney doesnt expect the shot, Giroux just beats him high glove without even looking. Malkin counters one great shot with a 200-foot effort. Winding up from behind his own net, Malkin breaks out and proceeds to start dancing through the entire Montreal Canadiens team. There is actually only one skater on the ice that Malkin doesnt skate through or around and hes just a spectator. By the time RaphaelDiaz and FrancisBouillon finally haul him down, hes shoveled a pass cross-crease to JamesNeal, who jukes once and slides the puck past CareyPrice. Houston overcame a four-run deficit to win. DexterFowler singled with one out in the ninth, JasonCastro drew a walk and Dominguez hit a long fly ball off Nick Martinez (0-1). Jermaine Kearse Elite Jersey . -- The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with former St.TORONTO - In NBA playoff history only 16 teams, of a total 255, have comeback from an 0-2 hole to win a seven-game series. Teams that have taken the first two games go on to claim the series 94 per cent of the time. Just as damning, only 27 lower-seeded teams have ever won the first two contests on the road in a seven-game series. 24 of them moved on. The Raptors know whats at stake going into Tuesdays Game 2, having dropped the opener to Brooklyn three days prior."Its a lot better to be 1-1 than 0-2," said Kentucky grad PatrickPatterson, crunching the numbers following a second straight afternoon of practice Monday. "I like to think it is (a must-win). Listen to Josh Lewenberg and Duane Watson weigh the importance of Game 2 and discuss the keys to evening the series in a playoff edition of TSN 1050s Raptors Report podcast. If Game 2 is not a must-win, its pretty close. Of course, Toronto is not dead in the water should Tuesdays rematch go the way of Saturdays disappointing loss. The Raptors have proven to be resilient all season long, at their best with their back up against the wall, but Dwane Casey knows this is not the time to be tempting fate. "Its important we win," the Raptors coach said. "Going down 0-2 is very difficult to come out of. Must win? I dont think that means were done (if we lose). We want to win (Tuesday) but we still have games to be played. It would make it very difficult. I wouldnt say its dire. Its tough, but its not over with if (we lose)." A second straight defeat on Tuesday would require the Raptors to win at least two games in Brooklyn to advance, a difficult proposition despite their success on the road this season. The Nets have won 22 of their last 26 games at Barclays Center, good for the leagues best home record in 2014. With one postseason game under their belt, Casey and his team are hopeful that any playoff jitters they may have experienced on the weekend have subsided. The obstacles havent changed. Theyre still fighting a battle-tested group - and by extension, the officials - but they should know what to expect, and be better prepared as a result. "We dont feel pressure, man, at all," said GreivisVasquez, who was the first to refer to Game 2 as a must-win, shortly after Saturdays loss. "We feel like the first game, we were anxious. I havent been in the playoffs in two years. A couple of guys have been in the playoffs, too, but havent been out there in a couple years." "We got it out of our system. Now were going to play Raptors basketball. Were going to defend, were going to rebound, were going to pass, were going to share the ball, were going to get the fans involved (and) were going to have fun. Luke Willson Elite Jersey. No pressure. This is basketball. This is fun." The Raptors have had a couple days to regroup, to watch film, to study and make adjustments. At this juncture it would be counterproductive to reinvent themselves, the tweaks that theyve made are minor. Ultimately it will come down to execution, on both ends of the floor. "Were disappointed but were anxious to get a second chance at it," Casey said. "I think the second time around well get the first game jitters away, out of us. We know were fighting a veteran, crusty team thats been there before. We worked on some things, made some adjustments in certain situations that we know we can do better." One such adjustment could include LandryFields, who has fallen out of Caseys rotation - for the most part - since the team acquired four serviceable reserves from Sacramento in early December. In an attempt to neutralize JoeJohnson or PaulPierce, Casey could turn to Fields off the bench Tuesday. "Weve thought about it," he admitted. "Thats one of the match-ups well look at, one of the personnel adjustments well have to look at. Not only on JoeJohnson, could be on PaulPierce, could be (Shaun) Livingston. Thats what they try to do, get the weak link matchup-wise and go at him, so we might have to use (Fields) on one of those guys." Fields has played sparingly and is still limited offensively, often hesitant to shoot following mid-season wrist surgery. When called upon hes been ready and reliable, an active body on offence and a versatile defender off Torontos bench. Pierce and Johnson were responsible for 15 of the Nets 27 fourth-quarter points Saturday, as Brooklyn went the entire frame without being whistled for a single defensive foul. The Raptors, on the other hand, were called for six. "Im not going to comment on officiating," Casey maintained, "except to say I went back to watch the calls in the fourth quarter and we didnt get any and thats unusual." "If youre too physical, the refs are going to call fouls and youll get in foul trouble," Patterson said. "If youre not physical enough, then (the Nets will) take advantage of you on the offensive and defensive end. We have to find the right amount of physicality to have out there as far as defensive pressure and our intensity offensively. The first game is under our belt and were just concentrating on the second game." cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

TORONTO The first-place Blue Jays hit the halfway mark of the season with 45 wins and a two-game lead on Baltimore in the American League East, territory unfamiliar to a franchise still waiting for its first playoff game since October 23, 1993, the night Joe Carter walked off Mitch Williams into World Series lore. 12th Fan Womens Jersey . "Im proud of the way the guys played," said manager John Gibbons. "It was kind of a so-so start and we kicked it in there in the month of May and put ourselves in a good position. Now, you know, we just need to do that again in the second half or even improve on that but Im very, very happy with the effort and the way the guys have been playing baseball. Its that simple." You wont find a Mission Accomplished banner hanging in the clubhouse. The expectation is much greater. "Has it met it yet? No," said CaseyJanssen. "Our expectation is to make the playoffs and win the World Series and were not there yet. Weve got a long way to go. I think everyone believed we could be this type of team but were not throwing a party yet, we know that. We know theres a ton of talent here and its the AL East so anything can happen." Despite a recent downturn in offensive production, through 81 games Toronto continues to sit in the top seven of most major categories. The club sits first in the majors with 104 home runs. Its fourth with a .262 batting average and .331 on-base percentage. The on-base plus slugging percentage of .767 ranks third and its 272 walks are seventh. The most pleasant surprise and biggest disappointment reside on the same spot: the pitchers mound. The pleasant surprise: Blue Jays starters lead the American League with 35 wins (a number not reached until the 135th game last season) and the staff ERA of 3.87 is best in the AL East. The biggest disappointment: the bullpen, the ray of sunshine in a stormy 2013 season, has compiled baseballs fourth-worst ERA (4.48). Its a target for improvement. "I think there are some times when weve got to be better in the bullpen," said Gibbons. "Weve got to shore that up a little bit. Its like anything, consistency over the whole pitching staff and hopefully you stay healthy enough." The Blue Jays have been fortunate to remain relatively healthy, dealing with injuries theyve been able to cover. MaicerIzturis was a backup infielder. BrandonMorrow wasnt pitching well when he got hurt. ColbyRasmus missed 33 games with a hamstring strain and the Jays got by with an AnthonyGose-KevinPillar platoon in centerfield. The medical staff is now doing the dance with JoseBautista as he deals with a hamstring problem, which could be made worse if rushed. Bautista will run sprints on Saturday morning and depending on how he feels, could be available to at least pinch hit on the weekend. QUIET TIME FOR JANSSEN Wondering where closer CaseyJanssen has been these days? Hes around. He just hasnt pitched much due to a lack of save opportunities. Since notching his 12th save of the season on June 15 in Baltimore, Janssen has appeared twice. He mopped up the epic, 14-9 comeback win on June 20 in Cincinnati. He threw the ninth inning of a 6-6 game against the Yankees on June 24 and got the win when the Blue Jays walked off. It can be difficult for relievers when they go through a period without consistent work. "I feel like saves come in bunches at times," said Janssen. "You get opportunities to pitch maybe in a lopsided game one way or another if it gets to be too long. Sometimes there are times when you dont get in but you get up. Im one of those guys that always has relied on my command and I guess it comes a little more natural to me than others." Janssen has 12 saves in 14 opportunities this season. "Sometimes the rest is good, knowing that the tough stretch is going to come at some point," said Janssen. Expect Janssen to get into a game before the weekend is over, regardless of whether Toronto has a lead of three or less. Janssen speaks to pitching coach PeteWalker about his schedule, who relays the message to manager John Gibbons. If Janssen goes four or five days without action his arms reaction to its diminished workload becomes less predictable. "You wonder if your arms going to be a little cranky or if its going to be super fresh," said Janssen. "Sometimes you feel great when you get the rest and sometimes youre kind of knocking the dust off a little bit." Remember that Janssen had an abbreviated spring training thanks to stiffness in the back of his pitching shoulder. He didnt appear in a Grapefruit League game until the final week of March. Then, in Montreal, he strained his left oblique and didnt make his season debut until May 12. Its been a build for Janssen, who anticipates being able to pitch on three consecutive days, if needed, as the importance of each game ramps up. "I feel like Id love to do it and Id love to have the opportunity to do it," said Janssen. "I think a lot of those three in a rows depend on how the first two went and the stress level of those innings. My goal is to be able to pitch in every opportunity possible, especially as the season gets further along and as this division and the race gets tight and everything like that." VANCOUVER -- Buck Pierce prepared for his retirement from the CFL by getting into the restaurant business while he was still playing. cheap jerseys from china . But the quarterback hopes to stay involved in football after officially calling it quits Tuesday. "Id love to look at those opportunities as they arise," Pierce said in an interview from his Winnipeg eatery. "(Football) is my passion. Ive always been a student of the game and looked up to coaches. "Obviously, (the passion doesnt end) just because you stop playing. That competitive fire will never burn out." Pierce split last season between the Lions and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, throwing for 1,176 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions. Over nine seasons with Winnipeg and B.C., he completed 1,200 passes for 15,289 yards, 76 TDs and 63 interceptions. "I feel pretty good about (retiring) actually," he said. "I feel that, over the last nine years, its been a great career for me. I enjoyed every minute of it. The teammates, the organizations were the part that were great experiences for me. Its a hard day also, in a way, for me because its what Ive known. Its what Ive been about for the most part of my life. "So its a big day in both ways. But Im also excited about the next phase of my life and moving on." Pierce, a 32-year-old Hutchinson, Kan., native who played collegiately at New Mexico State, originally signed with the Lions in 2005. He was a key member of the club as both a backup and starter through five seasons before playing 3 1/2 seasons with the Blue Bombers. He returned to B.C. last September in a trade that brought wide receiver Akeem Foster to Winnipeg. "Buck was a fearless competitor who never hesitated to put his body on the line for our organization," Lions general manager Wally Buono said in a news release. Pierces career was marred by multiple injuries as he chose to take a hit instead of sliding or running out of bounds before getting tackled. But he said the rewards were worth the punishment. "I wouldnt change anything I played the game the way that I felt this game should be played, and I felt that I represented myself extremely well on and off the field," he said. "Theres always going to be critics, and people are going to say what theyre going to say, but at the end of the day, I represented myself and my family and this league in a positive way." He won a Grey Cup with the Lions in 2006 and led the Bombers to the 2011 championship game, where they lost 34-23 to B.C. "Obviously, winning the Grey Cup in 06 was a big point in my life," he said. "Theres lots of memories. You dont necessarily remember all of the big wins and stuff like that. But when you play almost a decade, you have lots of teammates and you see lots of teammates be traded and all these things, so you have lots of memories that stick with you. "Obviously, when I helped the Bombers get to a Grey Cup in Vancouver, that was a big part, and I felt very good about what we accomplished that year." His final CFL campaign, when he was relegated to third-string status with the Blue Bombers before being dealt, was "extremely difficult." "But its all about what he you take away from situations and what you learn," he said. "I was fortunate enough to get traded to B.C., where it all started, and I had some great games at the end of the year. Im privileged and excited to be retiring as a Lion." Pierce had "extremely minor" arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder following the season and would have needed to get another contract from the Lions. But neither his health nor contract issues affected the decision to retire. "I didnt know what was going to happen (after) last year," he said. "I wanted it to be my decision. It wasnt money. It wasnt about injuries. It wasnt about anything else. It was about where I was at my point in my career and moving forward and taking that next step -- and about taking advantage of some of the opportunities that I have out there." Noting he had reached a state of contentment, Pierce expressed gratitude to fans, teammates and his two clubs alike. "The CFL and Canada have been great to me," he said. "Ive been fortunate to have amazing teammates, great mentors all throughout my career, and have played in great cities in the league -- and became a part of the culture here in Canada." He and his wife Lori, who is from Winnipeg, live in the Manitoba capital and plan to reside there until the future opportunities take them somewhere else. "Winnipegs the place that I call home right now," said Pierce. After announcing Pierces retirement, the Lions also announced the signings of quarterbacks John Beck and Jarrett Lee. Pending any early cuts following a mini-camp, the Lions are slated to have five quarterbacks at training camp in June in Kamloops, B.C. In addition to starter Travis Lulay, whose recovery from off-season shoulder surgery is considered ahead of schedule, the Lions have holdover QBs Joey Elliott, the apparent No. 2 at this point, and second-year pro Chris Hart. He gazed at the floor, and fought to regain his composure. It could have spelled disaster. Instead, DeRozan -- calm restored -- grabbed the game by the throat in the final three minutes to lead Toronto to a 100-95 victory over the Brooklyn Nets in Game 2 of their playoff series Tuesday. "Its just my competitive spirit," DeRozan explained. "Just calmed myself down. I was a little frustrated that I couldnt be out there with my team at that critical moment. It was just me keeping myself together, not being so frustrated, just staying focused." The Raptors top scorer had just picked up his fifth foul and Dwane Casey had taken him out of the game, despite DeRozan pleading with his coach to keep him in. DeRozan scored 10 of his 30 points in the games final three minutes, hitting two big buckets right after he returned to the game, his second a fadeaway jumper from 18 feet that had him flexing his chest and growling in celebration. The first-game jitters that haunted him in Game 1? Gone. Winning the game for his team down the stretch was "everything you dream about." "Especially when you become a professional athlete at the highest level, and have that trust from your coaching staff and your teammates to have the ball in your hands, and win the game for them," the 24-year-old DeRozan said. "Thats big, and I appreciate all 14 guys in that locker-room and the coaching staff to have that trust in me to take those shots in the fourth quarter." The best-of-seven Eastern Conference series is tied at one game apiece and heads to Brooklyn for Game 3 on Friday and Game 4 on Sunday. AmirJohnson had 16 points and nine rebounds, JonasValanciunas had 15 points and 14 boards for his second double-double of the series, while KyleLowry had 14 points, nine boards and six assists. PatrickPatterson added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Atlantic Division champions. JoeJohnson topped the Nets with 18 points, while DeronWilliams had 15, MirzaTeletovic added 14, and KevinGarnett finished with 13. Toronto outrebounded Brooklyn 52-30. Casey had predicted a completely different group of players -- especially DeRozan -- would show up for Game 2 after the majority of them looked overwhelmed by the bright lights of the playoffs in Game 1. "The game is about adjustments," DeRozan said. "Im a student of the game. I went back and watched the whole game (Saturdays loss) two or three times, to understand where I could get my shots, opportunities, where I could score and get easy buckets." The Raptors led by as much as 11 in the first half but the Nets got hot in the third quarter and took a 66-64 advantage into the fourth. DeRozan poured in seven points early in the fourth -- including a massive left-handed dunk that had capacity crowd of 20,382 fans at the Air Canada Centre -- that included Mayor Rob Ford, Drake and multimillionaire NBA superfan Jimmy Goldstein -- roaring. DeRozans 17 fourth-quarter points, alone, were two points better than his entire output in Saturdays 94-87 Game 1 loss. The Raptors outscored the Nets 36-29 in the final 12 minutes. The Raptors went up by five with 1:10 to play after Lowry drained a shot then stole the ball, leading to a Patterson free throw. Lowry raised his hands to the crowd like a conductor directs an orchestra, encouraging the fans to cheer louder. "Earlier in the year we wanted to be the Freddy Krueger of the NBA. Not give up, not give in," Caseyy said. wholesale nfl jerseys. "I think our guys have done that. We won against a very veteran team like Brooklyn, and that is very difficult to do because they seem to find a way to challenge you and keep you on your toes." PaulPierce, who scorched the Raptors down the stretch in Game 1, missed on a three-point attempt that would have tied the game with about 30 seconds to play. "Yeah, I got some looks," Pierce said. "Sometimes they fall, sometimes they dont. I think tonight it really wasnt about the offence again, we put ourselves in that position. We have to be better in the fourth quarter defensively. "When you go on the road and you are trying to steal two on the other teams home court, you have to be better in the fourth quarter defensively." DeRozan drained two free throws with 20.6 seconds left to seal the victory for Toronto. Johnson then took flight for a massive dunk to the delight of the delirious fans -- the perfect punctuation mark on a solid game by the entire Raptors team. "Just for me and DeMar, weve been through the ups and downs of this team," Johnson said. "This year we broke so many records, and we finally made it to this level. . . it just means a lot to be here for five years and to finally get to this stage. "We were here when people thought you could just come to Toronto and get a win," added DeRozan, seated beside Johnson at the post-game press conference. "Weve been through all that, frustrating seasons. "And we want everybody to know when you play against the Toronto Raptors youre going to have to fight, youre going to have to bring your game, and thats the passion every single guy on this team has." If there was one glaring negative, it was turnovers -- again. The Raptors coughed up 17 points on 21 turnovers. Saturday, they gave up 17 points on 19 turnovers and vowed to clean up the giveaways. Now the series heads to the unfriendly confines of Brooklyns Barclays Center -- likely made more unfriendly by the F-bomb Raptors GM Masai Ujiri dropped in relation to Brooklyn when addressing fans Saturday. "I think we always play well on the road in hostile environments. I think we proved it this year," DeRozan said. "Its really no pressure when we play on the road. Its just us, we dont pay attention to the crowd, the odds being stacked against us, we understand everythings on us and thats how we play." The players at least didnt have to put up with the distraction of Saturdays shot-clock fiasco. The power sources to the clocks were replaced after they were fried in the third quarter of Game 1, leaving announcer Herbie Kuhn to count down the 24 seconds on each possession. As in Game 1, hundreds of fans jammed Maple Leaf Square outside the ACC to watch the game on the giant screen. Valanciunas led the way with eight points in the first quarter punctuated by a circus play that led to a Ross basket -- Valanciunas took a shot and missed while falling down, and grabbed his own rebound while still on his backside, chucking a pass from the seated position. The play was part of a 15-3 run that put the Raptors up by five with about three minutes left in the quarter. Toronto took a 21-19 lead into the second. The Raptors opened the second with a 14-7 run to take an 11-point lead but the Nets fought back to cut Torontos lead to 45-39 heading into the dressing room at halftime. Johnson ran amok for 12 points in the third, and the Nets outscored the Raptors 27-19 in the quarter to lead by two points with a quarter left to play. NOTES: Casey finished fifth in voting for NBA coach of the year announced earlier Tuesday. He received five first-place votes. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

Its the one about the time his father was in the on-deck circle at Dodger Stadium when Jack Clark hit a go-ahead three-run homer in Game 6 of the 1985 NL championship series to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Dodgers and clinch the NL pennant. Then-Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda had wanted Tom Niedenfuer to face Clark with first base open because he felt Andy Van Slyke had a better chance to do some damage against the Dodgers tired closer. Sunday night brought back a flood of memories for the elder Van Slyke, who was in the stands and witnessed his sons first big league homer -- another three-run shot that put the Dodgers ahead in the seventh inning of a 6-5 victory over his hometown team. "Tommy Lasorda reminds me of that every time he sees me," ScottVanSlyke said with a laugh. "I also had a couple of friends in the stands from St. Louis, and were all from St. Louis. So Im sure a little piece of them was cringing. But whatever team it was against, I think it would have been just as thrilling. It was important that the home run counted for something and helped the team win." KyleLohse allowed three runs and 11 hits over 5 2-3 innings with four strikeouts and left with a 5-3 lead. But rookie ElianHerrera started the Dodgers winning rally with a one-out single against VictorMarte, and BobbyAbreu greeted Mark Rzepczynski (0-2) with a single. Van Slyke got the green light from manager Don Mattingly on a 3-0 pitch and drove it into the left-field bullpen after AndreEthier struck out. "At first, I looked down at (third base coach) Tim Wallach, and maybe there was a little part of me that was surprised," the 25-year-old outfielder said. "But once I got back in the box, I was really zoned in, trying to get a pitch I could do something with." The home run was the third allowed in 15 1-3 innings this season by Rzepczynski, the only left-hander manager MikeMatheny has in the bullpen for situations like that. "My plan was to go with sinkers away early and see if he could hit a groundball," Rzepczynski said. "Then I threw a 3-0 changeup, thinking hed be a little bit out in front of it, I just left it up a little bit up, and it was right in his wheelhouse. He sat back on it and hit it well. Hes got the power. I know it was his first career home run, but he was definitely up here for a reason -- to get a chance to hit in that situation." JavyGuerra (2-3) got the win, which completed a three-game sweep for the Dodgers and improved the best record in the majors to 28-13. Los Angeles is 15 games over .500 for the first time since the end of the 2009 season and leads San Francisco by seven games in the NL West, the Dodgers biggest margin of the season. KenleyJansen retired the side in order in the ninth for his fifth save. Dodgers starter ChadBillingsley gave up five runs -- three earned -- and eight hits in six innings and struck out seven -- including World Series MVP DavidFreese all three times he faced him. The right-hander is 0-3 over his last seven starts with a 5.20 ERA. The Cardinals placed first baseman LanceBerkman on the 15-day disabled list before the game because of an injured right knee, and purchased the contract of Triple-A first baseman MattAdams. The rookie smoked the first pitch he saw in the big leagues to centre for a single in the second inning for the first of his two hits and started an inning-ending double play in the first after fielding AdamKennedys grounder in the hole. The Cardinals turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead in the fifth. DanielDescalso led off with a single and RafaelFurcal reached on an error by Billingsley, who went to cover first base on Furcals grounder in the hole and took the throw from JamesLoney with his foot off the bag on a bang-bang play. SkipSchumaker followed with a two-run triple, then scored the go-ahead run when CarlosBeltran beat the relay to first from shortstop JustinSellers on a potential inning-ending double-play grounder to short after a walk to MattHolliday. Furcal added a two-run bloop single that made it 5-2 in the sixth. Notes: Dodgers team doctor Neal ElAttrache told Mattingly that 2B MarkEllis, who underwent emergency surgery Saturday to drain blood and fluid and relieve pressure in his injured left leg, could have lost his leg had he been brought to the hospital six or seven hours later than he was. Mattingly, who visited Ellis along with bench coach Trey Hillman after Saturday nights game, lauded the teams training and medical staff for their efforts. Ellis was injured Friday night when TylerGreene upended him with a hard takeout slide as he attempted to turn a double play. ... Van Slyke was born in July 1986 during his fathers fourth and final season with the Cardinals. Andy hit 164 home runs in 1,658 big league games. ... Ethier didnt get his 37th RBI last season until his 270th at-bat, 121 more than it took him this year to reach that total. ... Freese struck out all four times up and is 3 for 29 over his last nine games -- lowering his average from .309 to .259. ... Loneys RBI single in the sixth was the 2,000th regular-season hit Lohse allowed in his 12-year career. Bjoern Werner Jersey . At the moment, neither do the decision-makers. DustinMcGowan is front-and-centre in this ongoing saga, having thrust himself into the conversation with a dominating three-inning performance against the Phillies on Thursday, just hours after manager John Gibbons appeared to pour cold water on the notion. Ricky Jean-Francois Jersey .Louis is going to get a chance to represent his country at the Winter Olympics after all. ROME, Ga. -- The Atlanta Braves are facing the possibility of losing another pitcher for the season after general manager Frank Wren said Saturday that CoryGearrin has a serious injury to his right elbow. Wren said Braves orthopedist Dr. Xavier Duralde on Friday found "ligament involvement" in Gearrins elbow. Wren said the right-hander will see Dr. James Andrews next week for a second opinion and a "definite diagnosis." Clearly, the Braves have braced for bad news. "I think he has a significant injury," Wren said. It is another blow to a Braves staff that already has lost starting pitchers KrisMedlen and BrandonBeachy this spring to their second Tommy John surgeries. "Weve kind of eaten through our depth," Wren said. "It looked like we were in pretty good shape coming into spring training with some guys about to get healthy and all of a sudden the next thing you know were pretty thin." Gearrin was placed on the disabled list on Saturday and left-hander RyanBuchter was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett. Gearrin, a reliever, left Tuesdays spring training game against Detroit with what was described as an elbow sprain. Wren attempted to address the injuries to Medlen and Beachy by signing ErvinSantana and AaronHarang this month. Still, the staff will be especially thin for the start of the season as Santana continues to work into form and MikeMinor and GavinFloyd recover from injuries. Minor, who was scheduled to pitch in an exhibition game against top Braves minor leaguers on Saturday, will open the season on the disabled list as he recovers from a sore shoulder. Authentic Colts Jersey. Floyd is recovering from surgery in May to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and a torn flexor muscle in his right elbow. The Braves hope Minor and Floyd can join the rotation by late April. Santana is expected to be ready by mid-April. Gearrin was 2-1 with a 3.77 ERA and one save in 37 games with Atlanta in 2013, his first full season in the majors. He was expected to serve in a setup role for closer CraigKimbrel. The Braves return LuisAvilan, DavidCarpenter, AnthonyVarvaro and JordanWalden as veteran relievers but now may have more youth than expected in the bullpen. "We always find a way to do it and get over it," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Somebody else will step up. I have the confidence in our club that theyll overcome that." Wren said Gearrins injury forced him to look for more outside help. "We have been watching very closely other moves to see if there was someone who could upgrade us or someone who could help us and we havent seen anyone we felt were better than the pitchers we have," Wren said. The Braves released veteran FreddyGarcia before signing Harang. Wren said the team was not considering re-signing Garcia. Wren said the Braves are not the only team having to adjust to injuries. "When I look around baseball theres a lot of us like this," Wren said. "Its just one of those springs and theres not a lot you can do about it." cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins have agreed with right-hander MikePelfrey on an $11 million, two-year contract, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal, filling another spot in their revamped, veteran-heavy rotation. Logan Ryan Patriots Jersey . The contract was reached over the weekend, pending a physical, the person told The Associated Press on Monday on condition of anonymity because the team had yet to finalize the deal. Pelfrey made $4.1 million last season in a one-year deal with the Twins, including $100,000 in a performance bonus for surpassing 150 innings in his first season back from elbow ligament- replacement surgery. He made only three starts for the New York Mets in 2012 before the injury, but he recovered in time for 2013, taking the mound at Target Field on April 4 just 11 months after the operation. Pelfrey picked up the win that day in his American League debut, but the rest of the year was rough, not an uncommon occurrence for pitchers following Tommy John surgery. Pelfrey finished 5-13 for a 66-96 team, with a 5.19 ERA and 53 walks in 152 2-3 innings. Opponents batted .300 against him over 29 starts. The Twins, though, took an opportunity to buy relatively low and bank on an improvement by a former first-round draft pick who made at least 31 starts for the Mets for four straight seasons from 2008-11. He was 15-9 with a 3.66 ERA over a career-high 204 innings in 2010 with only 12 home runs allowed. Pelfrey still posted a personal-best strikeout rate of six per nine innings, despite his struggles. The soon-to-be-30-year-old is on track to be the Twins fourth starter. Minnesota previously signed right-handers RickyNolasco and PhilHughes for the top of the rotation, bringing its newly committed money for starting pitching this off-season to $84 million guaranteed over the next four seasons. KevinCorreia, the best of a bad bunch last year, is the only holdover who appears to have a spot. The first four starters will have an average opening-day age of 30. SamuelDeduno, ScottDiamond, KyleGibson and VanceWorley, for now, are the front-runners for the final slot. Twins starters had a majors-worst 5.26 ERA last season. Chris Jones Jersey . United released a statement saying Mata will move for a club-record fee "subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms." Although United didnt give any further details, the club this week made a bid of 37 million pounds ($61 million) for Mata, which would eclipse the 30. Will Smith Jersey . Mata had already been dropped from Spains squad once this season and with the country blessed with so many playmakers, he was in real danger of being overlooked for the trip to Brazil to defend their title. PORTLAND, Ore. -- The semifinal victory over the rival Seattle Sounders was barely over when Portland Timbers supporters started chanting "Beat Salt Lake!" Making their first trip to the playoffs, the Timbers held off the late-charging Sounders 3-2 Thursday night to advance to Major League Soccers Western Conference final. The Timbers, who won the semifinal series against the rival Sounders 5-3 on aggregate, will face Real Salt Lake in the first of the two-leg conference final on Sunday in Salt Lake. RSL defeated the two-time defending MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 Thursday night to win the series 2-1 on aggregate. "Now were locked in," Timbers midfielder Will Johnson said. "Were in the zone." The victory extended Portlands winning streak at Jeld-Wen Field to 16 games. The Timbers went 11-1-5 at home in the regular season with their lone loss on March 9 to Montreal. They had an MLS record 11 shutouts at home this season. Portland pressured Seattle goalkeeper Michael Gspurning from the start. Rodney Wallace booted a shot that went just wide in the third minute, and Darlington Nagbe came close but went wide again in the 15th. Portland broke through when Johnson converted a penalty kick in the 29th minute to go up 1-0. Diego Valeri, who had appeared to injure his shin when he was fouled hard by Seattle defender Marc Burch, came back a few minutes later to score from a seemingly impossible angle just before the break. Valeri, who blew kisses to the crowd after his goal, was Portlands top scorer this season with 10 goals and 13 assists. "We were hoping to get out of the first half at 0-0," Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said. "That one coming right before halftime, the goal right before halftime, the goal right after halftime, is what killed us at the end of the day. For the first 45 minutes, hats off to them, they were much better than us." Futty Danso added a header for Portland in the 47th minute. The Sounders put up a fight, and DeAndre Yedlins goal in the 74th minute avoided the shutout. Eddie Johnson aadded another three minutes later to close the gap. James Develin Jersey. The Sounders have been to the playoffs in each of the last five seasons. The Timbers, who joined MLS in 2011, are making their first trip. "Were getting closer," Portland coach Caleb Porter said. "And this team genuinely believes we have a realistic shot at this." The intense rivalry between the two clubs dates to 1975 when both were part of the North American Soccer league. For nearly a decade the teams have battled with the Vancouver Whitecaps for the supporter-created Cascadia Cup. While it was sweet to defeat the Sounders, Johnson said the Timbers didnt pay much attention to the hype. "To us, it was just another team that was in our way of getting to the next round," Johnson said. In the opening game on Saturday in Seattle, Ryan Johnson flicked in a header early in the first half and Nagbe added a goal in the second for the Timbers. Osvaldo Alonso scored late for the Sounders, who needed to win Thursday by at least two goals to become the fourth team to accomplish the comeback since the league went to the two-leg, aggregate-goal format for its conference semifinals in 2003. Seattle was without forward Lamar Neagle due to yellow card accumulations, but Yedlin started despite an ankle injury and forward Obafemi Martins was listed as a reserve after struggling with a groin injury. The Timbers finished the regular season in first place in the Western Conference at 14-5-15 overall. Their 23-point improvement from last season is the biggest turnaround in MLS history. The Sounders, who were 15-12-7, defeated the Colorado Rapids in the knockout round to advance to the semifinals. Schmid said he was aware that some Seattle supporters were calling for a coaching change. "I dont want to walk away. I know theres probably people out there that would like me to walk away," he said. "I think theres a good base of talent, theres a good base of people we can work with next year, but theres improvements, and theres changes we have to make." cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. Paul Molitor Brewers Jersey . -- Canadas Milos Raonic defeated Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France on Saturday to advance to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open. The No. 10 ranked Raonic, of Thornhill, Ont., had 33 aces to edge Roger-Vasselin 7-6 (4), 4-6, 7-6 (2). Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Stanislas Wawrinka -- who were all playing their opening matches of the tournament -- also won on Saturday. Federer, the four-time champion seeded seventh, beat French qualifier Pail-Henri Mathieu. The Swiss star was coming off his 78th career title last week in Dubai. "Its important to win," he said. "Its a lot different from Dubai. You have to force a bit more, but Im satisfied." In a late match, the top-seeded Nadal rallied to beat Radek Stepanek 2-6, 6-4, 7-5. "He is not the right player to play against in the first round," Nadal said. "Hes not the right player because what you want to find in the first round is rhythm and against him every point is different. He goes quick to the net. They dont give you that few games to find your rhythm, to find a way that you want to play." Nadal is 41-6 in his 10 appearances here and has made it to the semifinals or better for the past eight years. But he said worries about his back affected his serve during the 2-hour, 24-minute contest. "With my serve I was doing nothing. When that happens, the opponent is able to play more aggressive, play more confident and in the end, eight double faults, I give him an opportunity to win a lot of free points," Nadal said. "I was a little bit scared for the back. I am not feeling 100 per cent confident with my serve. But probably that match is going to help me understand that I can start to serve normal again." The fifth-seeded Murray topped Lukas Rosol 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, and the third-seeded Wawrinka, playing for the first time since winning the Australian Open, beat Ivo Karlovic 6-3, 7-5. Kevin Anderson and Tommy Haas also moved into the third round. Anderson spoiled two-time tournament champion Lleyton Hewitts bid for his 600th career match win, topping the Australian 7-6 (5), 6-4. Haas, who will be 36 on April 3, rolled to a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Jeremy Chardy. In womens play, top-seeded Na beat Chinese compatriot Zheng Jie 6-1, 7-5, and fourth-seeded Maria Sharapova opened her title defence with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Julia Goerges. Fifth-seeded Angelique Kerber dropped out, falling 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 to Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor. Aleksandra Wozniack of Blainville, Que., also beat No. 15 Sabine Lisicki 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (5). Murray reached the final in 2009, but has mostly struggled in the event. "I think its important sometimes to think about it, because when youre not expecting it to happen and then it does, thats when it can kind of take you by surprise and you might panic a little bit or worry," Murray said. "But I dont feel like (that happened) today. I was a set and a break down. I got broken three times in a row the end of the first set, beginning of the second. I just kind of kept going and found a way to win, which is always the most important thing." Mikhail Youzhny, seeded 14th, withdrew because of a back injury and the American mens contingent was trimmed from its initial 14 members to one after losses by Michael Russell, Sam Querrey, Tim Smyczek and Ryan Harrison. The only U.S. player remaining is 12th seed John Isner, who will face Nikolay Davydenko on Sunday. Li is playing her second event since winning the Australian Open. "This is the first match after Doha, two weeks, and of course for I cannot be 100 per cent for the first match," Li said. "But I was happy. At least I can learn something from todays match." Li will face Karolina Pliskova, a 7-5, 6-2 winner over No. 28 Klara Zakopalova. Eighth-seeded Petra Kvitova, No. 11 Ana Ivanovic and No. 12 Dominika Cibulkova also won early matches. In first-round doubles action, Raonic and Latvian partner Ernests Gulbis edged Serbian pair Novak Djokovic and Filip Krajinovic 7-6 (3), 6-1. Torontos Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia beat Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina and Marin Cilic of Croatia 4-6, 6-3, 10-8. Matt Garza Authentic Jersey . The agreement Thursday was for $5,000 above the midpoint between the $2.4 million he had asked for and the $1.6 million the Indians had offered when the sides exchanged arbitration figures last month. Milwaukee Brewers Jersey . -- HenrikZetterberg didnt wait long to make an impact in his first game back from injury. With the NHL Draft coming up on June 27 and free agency opening on July 1, discussions between NHL general managers are already heating up towards a busy off-season. Each day, TSN.ca provides the latest rumours, reports and speculation from around the NHL beat. This And That From TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun on Wednesday: The Los Angeles Kings have already reached out to MarianGaboriks camp to try to get something done to keep the pending UFA in the fold. Pending UFA defenceman AndreiMarkov of the Montreal Canadiens remains unsigned as the clock ticks toward July 1. "No news. I dont expect anything to happen any time soon," Markovs agent, former NHLer SergeiBerezin, told LeBrun via text Wednesday morning. "But you never know." Agent Steve Bartlett remains in talks with the Tampa Bay Lightning about pending UFA RyanCallahan: "Good-faith talks with Tampa continue, hard to handicap at this point," Bartlett said via email Wednesday morning. Avalanche of issues As per TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger on TSN Radio 1050 on Wednesday, the Colorado Avalanche will have some difficult decisions to make surrounding RyanOReilly and PaulStastny. One of these situations will definitely get messy and one wonders if Stastny will take a "home town discount." Bolland Banter While speculation continues to surround the Toronto Maple Leafs and pending UFA DaveBolland, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger told TSN Radio 1050 on Wednesday that as significant as Bolland is to the Leafs, there is a contract number in mind that the team is not comfortable going over. Singing The Blues? As per Andy Strickland of St. Louiss Big 550 KTRS, the Blues are JasonSpezzas top choice as a possible trade destination. Strickland adds that Spezza believess hes headed to either the Blues or the Anaheim Ducks. Jonathan Lucroy Brewers Jersey. Not So Fast Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving denied a report over the weekend that suggesting he would offer JiriHudler, MikaelBacklund, "possibly" DennisWideman and and a draft pick for Ottawa Senators centre JasonSpezza. "Its categorically false," he told Eric Francis of The Calgary Sun. "I havent made any such offers. Thats 100 per cent Fantasy Island. I saw it early Sunday online and had to read it a couple times and had to remind myself oh ya Im the Flames GM. Interesting." Treliving added that while he and soon-to-be-free agent Michael Cammalleri are in talks regarding a possible contract, there was nothing to a report that both sides had agreed to his price but were not in agreement on term. "The only things were unable to agree on are term and price- other than that we have a deal," he told The Sun. Pause Button On Kane? TSN Radio 1260s Gary Lawless wrote in The Winnipeg Free Press on Wednesday that Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff wont deal EvanderKane just for the sake of trading him, as team management believes Kane has yet to reach his full potential and they wouldnt want to see him score 40-plus goals in a different uniform. Lawless adds that the Jets arent going to be offered a roster player of equal value and that teams will try to offer picks and prospects. Market for R.J. Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch writes that R.J.Umberger has given the Blue Jackets a list of 10 teams to which he would not approve a trade. He adds that the Blue Jackets first choice would be to trade Umberger for a player or a draft pick, but they will likely have to keep some of Umbergers salary to make it happen. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

LONDON -- Less than 10 months before the opening ceremony, IOC inspectors are back in London to check on preparations for the Olympics. wholesale nfl jerseys . The International Olympic Committees co-ordination commission began a three-day visit Wednesday -- its penultimate trip to London before the games start on July 27, 2012. "This is really about the ascent to the summit," London organizing committee chairman Sebastian Coe told The Associated Press. Its the first time the commission has been to London since the capital was rocked by riots in August, violence that was trigged by a fatal police shooting in the Tottenham area. With most of Londons venue construction complete, policing, security and transportation are likely to figure high in the talks. The IOC team will receive updates from organizers and tour some of the venues, including the Olympic Park in east London and the archery site at Lords cricket ground, where a test event is taking place this week. This is the IOCs ninth visit to London since the city was awarded the games in 2005. A news conference is scheduled for Friday. nfl jerseys china . On Tuesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves gave them some tips on how thats done. KevinLove had 26 points and 16 rebounds, while CoreyBrewer and NikolaPekovic combined for 29 points as the Timberwolves routed the Pistons 121-94. The Timberwolves didnt dominate inside, matching Detroits 44 points in the paint, but the Pistons struggle to win games if they dont have a major advantage in the post. "We were trying to make them take outside shots," Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said. "They made a lot in the first quarter, but our whole point is transition defence, getting back and trying not to give them anything near the basket." As it often does, forcing the Pistons to shoot jumpers turned their offence into chaos. Detroit hit just 38 per cent of its outside shots, and 29 per cent from 3-point range. In the meantime, the Timberwolves were shooting almost 50 per cent from 3-point range and took 33 free throws to Detroits 16. "They are such a hard team to defend, because they can score in so many ways," Pistons coach Maurice Cheeks said. "Once they get scoring, they almost never stop, so you have to keep scoring with them. We had a couple stretches where we either turned the ball over or missed a few shots in a row, and that let them get away from us." Love only played 30 minutes, sitting out the fourth quarter with the big lead. Detroit was unable to stop him inside, outside or on the break. Several of his seven assists came on his trademark 70-foot outlet passes off missed shots. "Hes a unique player, because he can sit down on the block and score against you, and then he can step out and hit 3-pointers," Cheeks said. "On the other end, hes grabbing rebounds and hitting those passes over the top on the break. He hit a few of those against us, and thats an easy basket." Love missed Minnesotas loss to Miami on Dec. 7 to attend the funeral of his grandmother. He had "RIP Grandma Carol" written on his shoes Tuesday, and said he was playing with a little extra incentive. "Shes supported me since I was a baby, so I wanted to make sure and do something special for her tonight," he said. KevinMartin added 18 points for Minnesota, which finished with six players in double figures. "We did a great job of pushing the ball,&quuot; Minnesota guard RickyRubio said. cheap jerseys from china. "We had fun out there, and we were aggressive. That got us to the line, and then Kevin (Love) just does everything for us." BrandonJennings had 20 points for Detroit, but GregMonroe and AndreDrummond were held to a combined total of 18 points and 10 rebounds. "They had won four of their last five games, so we knew we had to jump on them early and not let up," Love said. "We had a big run and then kept the game in double digits. That really shows our leadership and maturity throughout our lineup." The Pistons have relied heavily on their frontcourt this season, but didnt have the advantage in that matchup against Minnesota. Love, Nikola and Brewer had 37 points in the first half, seven more than Detroits Drummond, JoshSmith and Monroe. The Timberwolves had a 28-26 edge on points in the paint, usually Detroits biggest strength, and made 17 free throws to just one for Detroit. "Im not going to complain about the free throws, because thats part of the game," Cheeks said. "They were more aggressive than we were, so they got to the line." That was good enough to give the Timberwolves a 64-51 halftime lead, even though both teams had shot just over 52 per cent from the field. Detroit trailed by as many as 17 points in the third, but going to a zone defence helped them cut the margin to 86-75 late in the quarter. Martin hit two 3-pointers to make it a 17-point lead, and Minnesota was up 96-77 going into the fourth quarter. With a fourth game in five nights coming Wednesday in New Orleans, Cheeks conceded early in the final quarter, emptying his bench as Detroit fell farther behind. "We have to forget this and get ready to play tomorrow," rookie KentaviousCaldwell-Pope said. "They just spread us on defence by hitting 3s, and then they threw the ball inside for easy baskets. Its tough to stop that." NOTES: Due to injuries, the game was Loves first at the Palace since the 2010-11 season. ... ChaunceyBillups of the Pistons played for the first time since Nov. 12. He had missed 14 games with knee tendinitis. He played 17 minutes and despite obvious rust on his jumper, finished with seven points and five assists. ... Caldwell-Pope finished with a career-high 16 points, while fellow rookie TonyMitchell hit the first 3-pointer of his career at the final horn. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

Spain aims to stay alive against Chile (TSN 1050, TSN 690, TSN 1260, TEAM 1410) Spain enters its second Group B match against Chile on Wednesday at the Maracana in desperate need of a response. Steven Hauschka Elite Jersey . The defending champions suffered an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Netherlands in their opening match, and another loss to Chile on Wednesday would bring an extremely premature end to their tournament. After taking the lead against the Dutch with a penalty kick from Xabi Alonso in the 27th minute, Spain fell apart and watched as Robin van Persie equalized shortly before halftime. The second half was a nightmare for Vicente del Bosques team as they saw the Netherlands score four unanswered goals, including a pair of gifts from goalkeeper Iker Casillas. Whether or not the veteran Casillas returns to the lineup in goal will be a tough decision for Del Bosque to make, but the coach feels as though his team has had time to get over the loss and get prepared for the next two games. "Everyone feels that we are capable of turning things around," Del Bosque told Spanish television channel Cuatro. "Many hours have passed and our spirits are higher. We now have to win our next two games, which wont be easy, but is within the realms of possibility. We are searching for the best possible preparation and we are trying to make sure the players are not sad, we have to enjoy ourselves." The Spanish side still possesses plenty of talent, but La Roja must find a way to raise their game if they want to avoid a stunningly early exit from the tournament. Chile, meanwhile, enjoyed a positive start to the competition by securing a 3-1 win over Australia that saw the club net two goals in the opening 15 minutes. Alexis Sanchez scored in the 12th minute and Eduardo Vargas doubled the lead in the 14th to put Chile in firm control. Australia pulled a goal back through Tim Cahill in the 35th, but Chiles Jean Beausejour finally killed the match off by scoring late to secure the win. Viewed as a real threat to advance to the knockout round, Chile can put itself in position to win the group if the team is able to topple Spain, which would send the Spanish home early. But Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal has his sights set a bit higher. "We hope to play well against Spain, take the three points, and if we knock them out that would be great," Vidal said. "But we didnt come here to knock out Spain, we came here to win the World Cup." Cameroon, Croatia aim to rebound in Group A (TSN 1050, TSN 1200, TEAM 1410) Croatia and Cameroon will both be fighting to stay alive in Group A on Wednesday when the two sides meet up at the Arena Amazonia. Both teams lost their opening match of the tournament with Croatia falling 3-1 to Brazil in the curtain-raising contest, while Cameroon dropped a 1-0 decision to Mexico the following day. Those results mean that the loser of Wednesdays contest will be eliminated after just two games, while the winner would put itself back in contention for a place in the next round. A draw would keep both sides alive, but would leave them with a lot of work to do in their final match. Croatia was expected to challenge for a spot in the last 16 and certainly turned in an encouraging performance against tournament-favorites Brazil. Niko Kovac saw his side take a surprising 1-0 lead in the 11th minute on an own goal from Brazil defender Marcelo before the hosts rebounded to level the match at 1-1 midway through the opening half through Neymar. The game was there for the taking as it entered the final 20 minutes, but a questionable penalty call handed Brazil the chance to take the lead when Fred went down under minimal contact from Croatia defender Dejan Lovren. Neymar converted the subsequent spot kick to put the Brazilians in front, and Oscar added a third in injury time to account for a flattering final score. Although Croatia came away from the game with zero points, Kovac didnt seem to be the least bit disappointed by the result. "We left an excellent impression, hats off to the lads," Kovac said after the match. "Its an honor to coach them." Cameroon will also be looking to bounce back after falling to El Tri on a second-half goal from Oribe Peralta. The Indomitable Lions were a bit fortunate to only lose 1-0 as Mexicos Giovani Dos Santos had two goals called off in the first half, illustrating a need for Cameroon to elevate its level of play on Wednesday, especially since it will face Brazil in its final group match. A win for Croatia would likely set up a game with Mexico that would decide second place in the group, but first Kovac and his men must take care of business against Cameroon, which could benefit from the humid conditions in Manaus. ARLINGTON, Va. www.officialnflseahawksfansstore.com/nike-steven-hauschka-seahawks-jersey/ . -- So it turns out AlexOvechkin is not thrilled with playing less in the playoffs. Less than a week after saying it "doesnt matter" that hes been on the bench for long stretches of the Washington Capitals first-round series against the Boston Bruins, the two-time NHL MVP changed his tune a bit Tuesday, acknowledging he gets upset when hes not on the ice. But Ovechkin -- paid nearly $10 million a year as Washingtons captain and leading scorer -- added that he doesnt really have much say in the matter. "Of course, sometimes you get angry you didnt play a lot (of) minutes. And sometimes you get angry youre not out there," Ovechkin said after practice Tuesday. "But if its good for the team, you have to eat it." Ovechkin played a career playoff-low 15 minutes, 34 seconds in Game 5 of Washingtons Eastern Conference series against the Stanley Cup champion Bruins. That was after coach Dale Hunter kept Ovechkin on the bench for all but 15 seconds over the final 14 minutes of Game 4. The teams are tied at three games apiece heading into Game 7 at Boston on Wednesday night. Ovechkin has two goals and three assists for a team-high five points in the series. A day after Game 4, Ovechkin said: "It doesnt matter how many minutes I play. Of course I want to be there, but its his decision," referring to Hunter. Asked Tuesday about his changing role under Hunter, Ovechkin chuckled and replied: "My role is still to score goals. But sometimes, in different situations, he puts different guys out there. If we win, we win. If we lose, were going to lose." Hunter says that the particular circumstances of a game -- including which team is leading at the time, and which forward lines Boston has on the ice -- dictate Ovechkins minutes. "Hes a big part of the team. ... But still, you need the whole team. Come a game like this, you need the four lines and the six D and the goalie going," Hunter said. "Come playoff time, its always the surprise guys who score the big goals to win the games." Ovechkins not necessarily known for helping his team protect a lead with the sort of defensive hockey the Capitals have made an effort to turn to after year after year of go-go, aggressive, outscore-the-other-guys efforts -- and year after year of early playoff exits. The Capitals want Ovechkin on the ice when theyre trailing, hoping hell produce the sort of play he did late in Game 6, when his goal made it 3-3 before Boston wound up winning in overtime. But when theyre ahead? Hunter prefers to go with players who are more likely to block a shot or create a turnover. "Hes always been a team player. Hes understanding that, although hes our best player and our go-to guy, there are times when other guys need to go in and do it as well and chip away in order for him to come in and seal the deal," Capitals defenceman KarlAlzner said. "He understands now exactly why hes not out there at times. Its not a shock to me or anybody." NOTES: D JeffSchultz is expected to return to Washingtons lineup, replacing JohnErskine alongside DennisWideman, whos been on the ice for eight of Bostons 12 even-strength goals in the series. Schultz played Games 1-3, Erskine played Games 4-6. "We need to clean up our mistakes. Thats what killed us the last couple games," Schultz said. ... Sounding as confident as ever -- and little like the NHL playoff rookie that he is -- Capitals G BradenHoltby said: "You have to win certain games in order to get to the Stanley Cup, and this is going to be one of them." ... Each of the first six games of the series has been decided by one goal. Only once has either team led any game by two goals: Washington went up 2-0 in Game 5, but less than 3 minutes later, Boston cut into that lead.www.officialnflseahawksfansstore.com/percy-harvin-jersey/ . According to the NHL, the odds of winning the first overall selection in the NHL Draft for the 14 non-playoff teams will be adjusted to more appropriately reflect the current state of competitive balance. The league will implement a more evenly-balanced allocation of odds, with the 10 highest-finishing non-playoff qualifying teams receiving better odds than they received previously and the four lowest-finishing teams receiving worse odds. The revised set of odds will remain in effect year-to-year in the future. The league added that beginning in 2016, the lottery will be utilized to assign the top three drafting slots in the draft, an expansion over previous years when the lottery was used to determine the winner of the first overall selection only. Three draws will be held - the first lottery draw will determine the club selecting first overall, the second lottery draw will determine the club selecting second overall and the third draw will determine the club selecting third overall.www.officialnflseahawksfansstore.com/nike-shaun-alexander-seahawks-jersey/. As a result of this change, the team earning the fewest points during the regular season will no longer be guaranteed, at worst, the second overall pick. That club could fall as low as fourth overall. The allocation of odds for the first lottery draw will be the same as outlined above for the 2015 NHL Draft Lottery. The odds for the remaining teams will increase on a proportionate basis for the second lottery draw, based on which club wins the first lottery draw and again for the third lottery draw, based on which club wins the second Lottery draw. The 11 clubs not selected in the lottery will be assigned draft selections 4 through 14, in inverse order of regular season points. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

PARIS -- Having threatened not to race in the last two Formula One races of the season because of a pay dispute, former world champion Kimi Raikkonen will now miss them anyway to undergo back surgery. Tim Wright Womens Jersey . Lotus said in a brief statement Sunday that the surgery will rule Raikkonen out of next weeks United States Grand Prix and the season-ending Brazilian GP at the end of this month. "The team will make an announcement about the replacement driver in due course," Lotus said in the statement Sunday. The 34-year-old Raikkonen has suffered with back pains in recent months and almost missed the Singapore GP in September when the problem flared up again. Raikkonens Lotus career is effectively over because he will drive for Ferrari next year. One possibility for Lotus is to promote third driver Davide Valsecchi, although the 26-year-old Italian has no F1 experience, or to hand reserve driver Jerome dAmbrosio the seat. The 27-year-old Belgian has 20 Grand Prix starts and was drafted into Romain Grosjeans car for last years Italian GP after the Frenchman was handed a one-race ban. At last weekends Abu Dhabi GP, Raikkonen criticized the team for not paying his salary this season and threatened to pull out of the final two races of the season in protest. He even had to be persuaded to race in Abu Dhabi, skipping media duties on the Thursday and then pulling out on lap one because of suspension damage after a minor collision with a Caterham car. He then got in a van and drove away, not answering any post-race questions. The weekend before, tensions surfaced within the team. Raikkonen was upset when he was bluntly ordered by the teams trackside operations director Alan Permane not to hold up Grosjean during the Indian GP. Shane Vereen Womens Jersey ." According to a report from the Toronto Star, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment says its being pushed to bring the Toronto Argonauts to BMO Field. The report states Tim Leiweke, MLSEs CEO said the city is asking for them to enter into a lease with the Argos as part of the deal to renovate BMO Field. MLSE wants to expand BMO Field, home of Toronto FC and owned by the city, and to do so must have council approval. The Argos meanwhile, must vacate Rogers Centre where they currently play by 2017. Davis became the first player to hit grand slams for different teams in the same April, and NeilWalker had a run-scoring single with two outs in the ninth inning as the Pirates twice overcame deficits to beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-5 Monday night. Pittsburgh trailed 2-0 before Davis fourth-inning homer off MikeLeake. Davis hit a game-winning, ninth-inning slam off the Reds J.J.Hoover on April 5 for the New York Mets, who traded him to the Pirates on Friday. According to STATS, no player previously hit slams for different teams in the same April. Davis became just the third to hit slams for different teams against the same opponent in the same year, following Ray Boone in 1953 and MikePiazza in 1998. "We knew thats what he was capable of doing when we traded for him," Walker said. "As a left-handed hitter in this ballpark, I can envision him hitting more balls over that Clemente Wall in right field. This is just the start." Leake said he made a good pitch and gave credit to Davis, his former college teammate at Arizona State. "I broke his bat and he still hit it out," Leake said. "Thats how strong he is." With nobody out, Davis was just trying not to kill a rally rather than trying to hit a grand slam. "I wanted something up because I know Mike has a good changeup and sinker so I didnt want to ground into a double play," Davis said. "I was just looking for something I could hit into the outfield, either get a sac fly, base hit or, hopefully if I hit it good enough, a homer. I was just trying to get the ball in the air." The Pirates were behind 5-4 before AndrewMcCutchens leadoff homer in the eighth against MannyParra. Each week, TSN. Cheap Boston Celtics Jerseys .ca Fantasy Editor Scott Cullen and NFL Editors Ben Fisher and Mitch Ward discuss three hot fantasy football topics. 1) What type of production do you expect out of TrentRichardson now that hes in the Colts offence? Cullen: I wouldnt get carried away with expectations for Richardson because the Colts also have AhmadBradshaw in the backfield. Richardson may have better opportunities to run in Indianapolis, with a better offence surrounding him, and that could lead to better than the 3.6 yards per carry he averaged in Cleveland last season, but I dont necessarily see Richardson with an increase on the 318 touches or 12 touchdowns he had as a rookie. Ward: Richardsons stock certainly goes up with a move from Cleveland to Indianapolis but I still wouldnt expect elite RB1 production. On the positive side, Richardson should get substantially better blocking than he had been getting in Cleveland which means he should be able to do more with his touches and improve his sub-standard yards per carry. However, Richardson also has to share the Colts backfield with the very capable, but injury prone, AhmadBradshaw. As long as Bradshaw stays healthy, he will command a decent share of the touches which limits Richardsons upside. Unless Bradshaw goes down for a significant stretch I dont see Richardson as anything more than a low-end RB1 or solid RB2. Fisher: All the debate last week was who won the Richardson trade; is he really an elite running back? While he passes the eye test and was a top draft pick, his numbers suggest otherwise. While Im still out on Richardsons value as a real running back in Indy, I really like him as a fantasy RB. Richardson was a Top 10 back last season and should see his 2013 numbers rise as he gets more opportunities to score playing in a far more potent offence. The only thing stopping me short of adding Richardson to the group of elite fantasy running backs is AhmadBradshaw. The injury-prone Bradshaw is a talented runner that will warrant his share of touches. But if Bradshaws wonky foot starts acting up again, Richardsons opportunities and numbers should really take off. 2) Can anyone, regardless of position, catch PeytonManning as the top fantasy points producer this year? Cullen: Not if he keeps playing like this, but since Manning is not likely to throw more than 60 touchdowns passes (his current pace is 64), hes due to come back to the pack, at least a little, and other top quarterbacks like AaronRodgers and DrewBrees could still push Manning. Id also keep the Philadelphia Eagles in mind. LeSeanMcCoy is off to a phenomenal start and, even though he struggled last week, MichaelVick still ranks second to Manning in fantasy points. Ward: Absolutely. Were only three weeks into the season and a lot can change between now and Week 17. Manning is great, has a ton of weapons to work with in Denver and could easily stay on top for the whole season but its just to early to tell. There are a few other pretty good quarterbacks like DrewBrees and AaronRodgers capable of going off on any given Sunday and closing the gap quickly. Im not ready to hand Manning the title yet. Fisher: No chance. The top five scorers each of the past two years in most formats have been quarterbacks, so that trend is likely to continue for this season. Maybe AaronRodgers or DrewBrees catch him, but theyre already 15-20 points behind and the Denver Broncos offence, with Manning at the helm, has looked virtually unstoppable through the first three weeks of the season. They dont get to play the Oakland Raiders every week, but its hard to see Manning having a slow day against any defence right now. 3) Is it time to give up on New England Patriots RB StevanRidley? Cullen: I wouldnt necessarily abandon all hope with Ridley, but he may be at the tipping point in the next week or two. Right now, hes maybe a Flex option as bye weeks start to affect fantasy rosters or he could even sit on your bench if you have more reliable runners -- which shouldnt be hard, he ranks outside the Top 50 running backs through the first three weeks. However, its not as though there is one locked-down replacement who is going to bump Ridley from the Patriots backfield, so if he makes the most of his opportunities, Ridley could still pull back ahead of LeGarretteBlount and BrandonBolden to have some fantasy relevance. Ward: If you bet on Ridley to have a big season and took him as your RB1 youre probably not off to a very good start. And while I wouldnt want to be relying on Ridley to bounce back and save my season, I wont completely write him off either. Despite the lack of production he is still the Patriots top back and will see the majority of snaps on early downs. The Patriots offence is also starting to come together and will be bolstered by the returns of RobGronkowski and DannyAmendola in the near future. As the passing game improves, more lanes should open up for Ridley in the run game as well. I see him as a decent RB2 for the rest of the season and wouldnt hesitate to grab him for pennies on the dollar in a trade. Fisher: In short, yes. Ridley was actually lauded this week for his pass protection play last weekend but that means nothing in fantasy. What matters is that he now appears in a timeshare with LeGarretteBlount, who received three more carries than Ridley last week. And with RobGronkowski on the verge of a return, red zone opportunities will be even more limited for the RB. If you have room on your bench then Ridley is worth storing based on his strong 2012, but for now there are more intriguing options on the waiver wire that should see more carries. DENVER -- SergeIbaka helped Oklahoma City get off to a good start. KevinDurant and RussellWestbrook provided the strong finish. Ibaka scored Oklahoma Citys first 11 points of the game, Durant finished with 30 points again and the Thunder beat the Denver Nuggets 105-93 on Tuesday night for their seventh consecutive victory. "Its a good win," said Durant, who had 30 or more points in a game for the 12th time this season, most in the NBA. "We came here and beat a team that plays well at home and has been playing really well since the last time we played them. Any win on the road is tough, so well take it." Westbrook had 21 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, half of them in the opening minutes on feeds to Ibaka, who finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. "Once they put two guys on myself or Kevin, our job is to make the other guys better," Westbrook said. "Thats what I did early in the game. If two guys are guarding me, then somebody is open." The shooting lanes opened up after that for Durant and Westbrook. "My teammates set me up so well and I was just trying to be aggressive because I knew I didnt start the game off the way I wanted to," Durant said. "The third quarter is always key for us so I just put my head down and tried to score." Denver had won 10 of 13. J.J.Hickson had 20 points and 14 rebounds, but the Nuggets dropped to 0-2 this season against Oklahoma City. TyLawson added 17 points and 13 assists. "We made too many turnovers after the first quarter and thats when (Thunder) made their run," Lawson said. "When they start making their runs and hitting their 3s, they are tough to stop. The third quarter we came out strong and started turning the ball over again. Cheap NFL Jerseys. It was all self-inflicted." After Hickson made one of two foul shots to get the Nuggets within two, the Thunder put together a 9-0 run capped by a 3-pointer by Durant for a 69-58 lead with 4:56 left in the third. EvanFournier broke up the flurry with a 3-pointer but Oklahoma City still led 75-65 going into the fourth. The Thunder stretched their lead to 13 points on a basket by JeremyLamb but Denver closed to 83-77 with 7:15 remaining, getting 10 straight points from NateRobinson, including consecutive 3-pointers. Denvers rally stalled from there, and Durant hit a jumper and Westbrook and Lamb each connected on 3-pointers to help Oklahoma City to a comfortable 97-79 lead with 4:28 left. The Nuggets didnt threaten the rest of the way. Durant heated up in the last couple of minutes of the second quarter, dunking on consecutive possessions off alley-oop passes and then hitting a 3-pointer to push Oklahoma City to a 52-44 halftime lead. The Thunder led by as many as 12 points early on, going in front 37-25 when ReggieJackson converted a steal into a fast-break layup midway through the second quarter. KennethFaried scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half for Denver. NOTES: Lawson has scored 10 or more points in 20 of 22 games. ... The Thunder have the NBAs longest active winning streak. ... SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Red Bull driver Mark Webber set the pace in the first practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix on Friday. Cheap Jerseys From China . Webber clocked one minute 13.811 seconds at the 4.3-kilometre Interlagos track, ahead of McLaren duo Jenson Button, 0.014 back, and Lewis Hamilton, 0.150 behind. Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel, who has already clinched the drivers title, was fourth fastest in 1:14.025. With the title already decided, Sundays Brazilian race features the fight for second place, with Button, Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso and Webber still with a chance to finish runner-up. Alonso had the sixth-fastest time in the first practice, but couldnt complete the session because of an apparent mechanical failure with about five minutes left. Crowd favourite Felipe Massa, in his 100th race with Ferrari, was fifth fastest on a hot day in South Americas biggest city. Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, a four-time winner in Brazil, was seventh in his Mercedes. Button has a 10-point advantage over Alonso and a comfortable 18-point lead over Webber in the fight for second place. The British driver will secure the runner-up spot just by finishing ahead of Alonso and Webber. Vettel won the title at the Japanese GP, with four races to spare in the season. He dominated the season with 11 victories and 14 pole positions. He will make a little more history if he can win the pole again on Saturday in Brazil, allowing him to surpass Nigel Mansell for the record in a single season. Vettel won his 14th pole to equal Mansell in Abu Dhabi. Hamilton won the race in Abu Dhabi after Vettel retired on the first lap because of a punctured tire that damaged his car. It will be the first time in seven years that there isnt a chance the title will be decided in Brazil. The season had its champion crowned in Interlagos for five straight years until 2010, when Vettel clinched the trophy in Abu Dhabi, which ended the season last year. The constructors championship also has been decided in favour of Red Bull, which McLaren set to finish second and Ferrari at least third no matter what happens in Sundays race. Ortega played 42 games for Double-A Tulsa in the Texas League last season before sustaining a hairline fracture on his shin. NEWARK, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils top executive took issue Friday with Newark Mayor Cory Bookers recent harsh criticism of him, particularly accusations that the National Hockey League team reneged on a promise to construct a community centre as part of its deal to build the Prudential Center arena five years ago. Booker ripped chairman and managing partner Jeff Vanderbeek on Wednesday in a news conference in front of the arena, a day after arbitrators ruled in favour of the Devils in a long-running dispute with the city over arena parking revenue. Booker indicated that the citys lawyers were considering legal recourse. Among other colourful descriptions, Booker called Vanderbeek a "Grade-A huckster" who came to Newark with "a mouthful of promises and pocketful of lies." One of the unfulfilled promises, Booker said, was that the Devils would build a community centre next to the arena in downtown Newark, the states largest city. Vanderbeek told The Associated Press on Friday that Bookers remarks both surprised and concerned him. "Its concerning that after choosing to take the Prudential Center to court and then have the court ruling that they needed to go to arbitration, and taking it to arbitration, that after that ruling the mayor chooses to not obey the law of the land but seems to be following Booker law," Vanderbeek said. "Our concern is that in a city like Newark where we are trying to set a platform to draw private business in, that businesses are going to think twice when they think about the risk of coming into Newark," he added. A 2007 letter signed by Vanderbeek and Newark Housing Authority head Keith Kinnard said that Devils Renaissance Development, the teams development arm, "shall not be requireed to construct a separate, free-standing community centre; rather, DRD shall only be required to incorporate and conduct community programs in the second sheet of ice that will be constructed as part of the Arena Project. Cheap Jerseys. " Kinnard said Friday that he signed the letter at a time when the arena negotiations were at a critical stage and the city had already sunk about US$100 million into the project. He said the Devils threatened to move to Kansas City if they didnt receive the concessions spelled out in the letter. Booker on Friday echoed Kinnards account and didnt back down from his earlier remarks. Vanderbeek "claimed to be an altruist and that he wanted to help the community, but he went on finding every legal way imaginable to squeeze out of every commitment," Booker said. "This just shows the character of the man, that hes more concerned with squeezing every possible dollar off the table. The rec centre is just one chapter." The Devils havent paid rent to the city since the arena opened in 2007 because of the parking dispute. This weeks arbitration ruling ordered the city to pay $2.7 million per year in parking money to the team. Combined with other payments and fees, the city owes the team about $15 million, or a few hundred thousand dollars more than the Devils owe the city in back rent and other fees. The city contributed $210 million toward building the arena, paid for through a renegotiated lease with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for Newark Liberty International Airport property. The team provided $100 million. The Devils played their first game in the Prudential Center, known as The Rock, in October 2007 after playing at an arena in the nearby Meadowlands since the 1982-83 season.cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

The Red Wings play at Columbus on Tuesday night and host Edmonton on Friday.Francisco Rodriguez Brewers Jersey . So on Friday, they went to work. The two-time Eastern Conference runner-ups announced they had signed three free agents -- backup big man LavoyAllen, swingman C. Kyle Lohse Jersey . LOUIS -- Duke forward Jabari Parker has won the Wayman Tisdale Award, presented by the U.ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan coach John Beilein is willing to give Nik Stauskas a little leeway when it comes to shot selection. "Hes looking for a perfect play all the time, and shooters got to shoot it," Beilein said. "Sometimes whats a bad shot for others is a really good shot for him." Stauskas scored 21 of his 25 points in the second half Sunday, repeatedly making contested shots from the perimeter to help the 20th-ranked Wolverines to a 79-70 win over 13th-ranked Michigan State. Michigan rallied from an 11-point first-half deficit and wrested first place in the Big Ten from its in-state rival. "I just came out with the mindset in the second half that I wasnt going to be stopped," Stauskas said. "Once I made a couple shots, it kept going from there." Caris LeVert added 23 points for the Wolverines (19-7, 11-3), who won both regular-season meetings against Michigan State and six of the last eight games in the series. The Spartans (22-6, 11-4) started well, but were only up 36-34 at halftime. Then Stauskas and LeVert led a second-half charge. The Wolverines trailed 52-51 before going on a 13-0 run that sent the Crisler Center crowd into delirium. Michigan scored 45 points in the second half Sunday -- after blitzing the Spartans for 50 after halftime in an 80-75 win in East Lansing last month. "The first game, I was very proud of our effort. This game, we looked tired," Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said. "Im not very proud of our effort." Gary Harris scored 21 points for the Spartans. The victory gives Michigan a chance to earn its second Big Ten title in three years after tying for the championship in 2012. The Wolverines have home games against Minnesota and Indiana, as well as trips to Purdue and Illinois. Michigan State has home games against Illinois and Iowa followed by a trip to Ohio State. Stauskas was terrific in Michigans win at Michigan State last month, but he had not scored more than 16 points in a game since then. Perhaps he was letting opposing teams take him out of the offence too easily, but at 6-foot-6, if Stauskas makes up his mind that hhes going to shoot, he usually can. Robin Yount Brewers Jersey. . With the Wolverines down 48-43, Stauskas scored seven straight points to give Michigan the lead. When the Spartans edged back ahead by one, Stauskas answered with a 3-pointer, and it soon become clear that there wasnt much Michigan State could do to keep him from shooting over defenders on the perimeter. A 3-pointer by Stauskas from the right wing put Michigan ahead 59-52, then LeVert added a 3-pointer and a dunk. With the Spartans wearing down, Jon Horford dunked for Michigan to make it 68-56 -- and that ended a stretch of 23 straight Michigan points by Stauskas or LeVert. Michigan fans serenaded the Spartans with a chant of "little brother" toward the end. The Spartans have battled injuries throughout this season -- Adreian Payne and Brandon Dawson missed the first meeting with Michigan. Dawson was still out Sunday with his broken hand, but Payne is back, and he had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Keith Appling, who has been dealing with a wrist problem, scored only six points for Michigan State. "Yeah, I fell on the wrist again, but I couldnt come out of the game," Appling said. "Its very frustrating right now, because there are things I just cant do, but I cant let that be an excuse. Im the quarterback of this team, like coach always says, and I have to be out there leading." Michigan, of course, has been playing without big man Mitch McGary for over two months, but the Wolverines have overcome his back-related absence thus far. Glenn Robinson III scored 15 points Sunday, including an alley-oop dunk from a driving Stauskas that made it 72-61. Michigan State made 17 shots from 3-point range in its previous game against Purdue, and the Spartans were locked in early in this one. Payne dunked on freshman Zak Irvin while drawing a foul, and the three-point play gave Michigan State a 22-11 lead. The Wolverines responded with a 10-0 run that included 3-pointers by Spike Albrecht and LeVert and a breakaway dunk by Irvin. LeVert scored 14 points in the first half, and his 3-pointer in the final seconds cut Michigan States lead to two. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '
