Britains women kept their chances of reaching the Olympic curling semifinals alive by beating Russia 9-6 on Monday, eliminating the host nation from the tournament. Kansas City Royals Jersey . Eve Muirheads world champion team has a 5-3 win-loss record and can join Canada and Sweden in the playoffs with a win over Denmark in their last round-robin game later Monday. Muirheads team failed to reach the Olympic semifinals in 2010, despite being one of the favourites. Japan defeated China 8-5, leaving both teams tied with Switzerland at 4-4. China plays Switzerland in the standout game on Monday evening, with the loser eliminated and the winner securing at least a tie-breaker game. Japan plays Sweden. The United States (1-8) finished in last place for the second consecutive Olympic Games after losing 11-2 to South Korea in seven ends. "This team is a better team than our performances this week," said U.S. curler Ann Swisshelm, who had tears in her eyes as she left the ice. "Thats pretty heart-breaking." Russia is out of contention for the semifinals, a disappointment for the tournament as a whole as the atmosphere and noise in the crowd has lifted this week every time the host nations team played. Russia is also out of the mens competition. After conceding four points in the eighth end, the Russian women scored three points in the 9th to bring the score back to 7-6 but Britain had the hammer in the last end. Muirhead kept her nerve to make a simple takeout with her final shot for two game-clinching points. "Sitting in the hack during my last shot, I actually couldnt hear myself think," Muirhead said. "I was just hoping there wasnt a really important line call where the sweepers would have to hear me scream, because theres absolutely no way they would have heard me." Canada (8-0) is guaranteed to be seeded No. 1 in the semifinals and could become the first team in womens Olympic curling to go through the round-robin stage undefeated if it beats South Korea in the evening session. CHARLOTTE, N. Dustin McGowan Authentic Jersey .C. - The Charlotte Bobcats are trying to bolster their 3-point shooting for the playoff stretch run. The Bobcats acquired guards LukeRidnour and GaryNeal from the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for guard RamonSessions and forward JeffAdrien just hours before the NBA trade deadline Thursday, both teams announced. The trade is expected to give Charlottes outside shooting a boost as the Bobcats make a push for the playoffs. Neal, a career 43 per cent 3-point shooter, should help a team that lacks a true shooting guard. Session was a valuable backup point guard for Charlotte but Ridnour should help to fill that void. Neal spent three seasons with the San Antonio Spurs before signing this past off-season with the Bucks as a free agent. He is averaging 10 points and shooting 39 per cent from 3-point range. Ridnour, in his 11th NBA season, can play both guard spots. Hes played in 36 games this season and is averaging 5.7 points and 3.4 assists in 21.2 minutes. Hes averaging 9.8 points per game for his career. "We are excited to add a pair of quality players to our backcourt," Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins said in a press release Thursday. "Gary is an exceptional shooter and Luke is a veteran point guard who can help us off the bench. They both have significant post-season experience so they know how to get where were trying to go. We look forward to adding them to our rotation." Bucks coach Larry Drew said Neal was in a tough situation playing behind younger players after being with a successful team in San Antonio. He said Charlotte will be a good fit, as centre AlJefferson will require double teams and help free up Neal for open 3-pointers. "That, I think, is a great situation for the both of them," Drew said. "You look at what they have in Jefferson, a guy that certainly can command a double-team, it opens it up. He can stretch the defence." Higgins called Sessions a true professional and thanked him for his effort in Charlotte. Sessions was having a successful second season with the Bobcats, averaging 10.5 points and 3.7 assists per game. He started seven games with point guard KembaWalker out with a sprained ankle and filled in well. Sessions, who likes to drive to the hole and draw contact, has averaged at least 10 points per game in each of his last five seasons. Adrien has seen limited action for the Bobcats and hasnt been in their rotation much in recent weeks. He has played in 25 games and averaged 2.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. The Bucks acquire two expiring contracts in the deal and will avoid paying Neal $3.5 million next season. Charlotte was eighth in the Eastern Conference playoff race, 2 1/2 games ahead of Detroit, after Wednesdays games. The Bucks have the worst record in the NBA. Munenori Kawasaki Jersey . With the final four being arguably the four best and most complete teams from the regular season, picking a winner is not as easy as it sounds.EDMONTON -- It would be difficult to find a team much harder to figure out than the Edmonton Oilers. TaylorHall scored a hat trick and added an assist as the Oilers bounced back from a stinker of a loss with a surprising 8-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. "Its always a fun night when you get a hat trick, but for us to win in the fashion that we did gives us some confidence," said Hall, who recorded his fourth career hat trick. "This homestand could prove to be big for us. "I havent been in this league long, but Ive been in it enough to know that anything can happen on any night against any team. You have to be ready for the opportunity. You just have to come out and play your game. Sometimes youre going to get eight and some nights youre going to get zero. And tonight was a great night." AlesHemsky, DavidPerron, MarkArcobello, JordanEberle and SamGagner also scored for the Oilers (10-18-2) who replaced a quarter of their lineup for the game after a 6-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday. The Oilers improved to just 4-9-0 at home, but have won six of their last nine overall. "I dont know if you see a score like that coming, but I think every morning you come into a game youre optimistic," said Oilers head coach DallasEakins. "Over the last few weeks our group has taken a step in mental toughness and something in that degree. I didnt see a win of that score coming though, I definitely thought wed be in a tight game." NickHolden and P.A. Parenteau responded for the Avalanche (19-7-0) who had won two in a row and five of their last six coming into the game. Colorado goalie SemyonVarlamov allowed eight goals on 28 shots, however three of those came in the final five minutes with the game clearly out of reach. "What happened in the last five minutes, we have to look at each other and play for our goaltender there," said Avalanche assistant captain PaulStastny. "Those last two goals are on us. We cant quit on our goaltender like that. He has been our best player all year. Hanging him out to dry like that is unacceptable." Head coach PatrickRoy wasnt as upset after the game as could have been expected from such a lopsided score. "Im not disappointed at all," he said. "(The Oilers) played well and scored power-play goals, they scored on the rush. We knew before the game that its a team that it would be very dangerous to exchange chances with. If they go on the rush, its their game and we played into it. We need to learn from it. "They scored three goals in the last four minutes or so. It was a closer game than the score showed I think." The Oilers started the scoring before the game was four minutes old as PhilipLarsen sent a long breakaway pass up ice that Hall was able to catch up to before sliding the puck through Varlamovs pads. Colorado had a chance to pull even four minutes later on a five-on-three power play, but Oilers goalie DevanDubnyk stoned MattDuchene on a glorious opportunity at the side of the net to preserve the lead. Avalanche defenceman JanHejda had to be helped off the ice with eight minutes to play in the first period after losing an edge and going heavily feet first into the boards. Edmonton made it 3-0 with power-play goals just 15 seconds apart with just over two minutes remaining in the opening frame.. Russell Martin Jersey. Hall got his second of the night and ninth of the season with 2:18 remaining on a five-on-three advantage, unleashing a bullet of a one-timer from the right face-off dot. The Oilers then took advantage of the remaining time on the power play as RyanSmyth sent a pass to hit Hemsky in full flight and he undressed Varlamov with a deke before scoring on the backhand. Colorado got a goal back four minutes into the second period as a Holden point shot caromed off a couple of Oilers players before ending up in the Edmonton net. The Avalanche made it 3-2 midway through the second period. Parenteau was able to swoop in and pick up the rebound of a big Dubnyk glove save on a point-blank shot by GabrielLandeskog and hook it into a wide-open net. The Oilers went back up by two goals with eight minutes left in the middle period as Perron went in on a 2-on-1 before electing to shoot it himself. It was Perrons third goal in the last two games and team-leading 12th of the season. Edmonton restored its three-goal lead with 11 minutes left in the third period as a pass ticked off of defenceman NateGuenin before Arcobello kicked it up to his stick and beat Varlamov. The Oilers made it 6-2 with just under five minutes left as Smyth showed good patience on a 2-on-1 before hitting Eberle for his 10th of the year. It was Smyths third assist of the game. Edmonton added insult to injury with a pair of late goals. With a minute-and-a-half left, Gagner intercepted a pass and then took a nice return feed from Hall before sniping the puck past Varlamovs glove. Hall then got the hat trick with just 11 seconds left as he tipped a RyanNugent-Hopkins shot on net and then followed it up to put home his own rebound. "There is tremendous amount of skill here and we have to utilize it on a daily basis," Smyth said. "We cant just sporadically use it. If we get consistent at it, were going to be successful." The Avs play the second of a three-game Western Canada trip on Friday in Calgary. Edmonton next plays host to the Flames on Saturday. Notes: It was the first of three scheduled meetings between the two teams this season. Edmonton came into the game with a fair amount of recent success against the Avalanche, having won seven of their previous 10 games at home against Colorado. ... Deeply disappointed in Tuesdays 6-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes at home, the Oilers switched out a quarter of their lineup from that game. Forward WillActon and defencemen DenisGrebeshkov and AntonBelov were sent down to Oklahoma City while defenceman JeffPetry and forward JesseJoensuu were healthy scratches. Call-ups AntonLander (forward) and MartinMarincin were inserted into the lineup, the first NHL game for Marincin. Also coming in were defencemen PhilipLarsen and CoreyPotter and forward LukeGazdic. ... Edmonton goaltender IlyaBryzgalov was put on injured reserve with concussion/whiplash symptoms after being run over in the crease last Sunday in Dallas. ... Avalanche defenceman RyanWilson (back) and forward AlexTanguay (knee) remained on injured reserve, while veteran defenceman CorySarich was a healthy scratch for Colorado, which came into the game after a four-day break. ... Melo Trimble shot 12-of-14 from the foul line for 17 points for the Terps, winners in six straight games. Trailing by three with time winding down, Wells stepped into a 3 and hit nothing but nylon. Denzel Valentines half-court heave narrowly missed, and the game went into OT, but not before a lengthy video review. Officials spent nearly five minutes watching the replay of Wells triple to see if his foot was on the line, but the video was inconclusive. OAKLAND, Calif. adidas zx 750 gnstig . -- FelixHernandez has never felt better at the beginning of a season. That certainly bodes well for the former Cy Young Award winner. Hernandez took a shutout into the ninth inning, DustinAckley and AbrahamAlmonte hit home runs and the Mariners beat the Oakland Athletics 3-1 Saturday. Hernandez (2-0) retired the first 11 batters on the way to his 16th career win over the Athletics, his most against any team. Hernandez walked one and struck out eight while allowing a run on six hits over 8 1/3 innings. "My pitches were looking good all day long," Hernandez said. "I could throw them all for strikes. I felt strong and my pitches were there. Physically I feel great and I have all my pitches." FernandoRodney, who struggled during spring training, got the final two outs to record his first save with the Mariners. RobinsonCano had two hits. "Im just working on locating my fastball in spring," Rodney said. "It was real good today; its the season." DanStraily (0-1) allowed three runs on six hits over his six innings. He walked one and struck out seven. "It was disappointing," Straily said. "A two-seamer comes back over the plate and I yanked one. I did a good job of executing the game plan minus those two pitches." Straily carried a shutout into the fifth inning before Ackleys towering two-run shot gave the Mariners a 2-0 lead. With two outs, Almonte drove Strailys 1-0 pitch even deeper into the right field bleachers. "After seeing him a couple of times you get used to what hes got and can throw out better at bats," Ackley said. "There was a runner on third, maybe hes thinking about him, and gives me a pitch to hit." The way Hernandez was pitching, the run support was more than enough. "Id say for seven innings that might be the best weve seen him," As manager Bob Melvin said. "It seemed like his fastball had a little extra hop and he mixed in his breaking stuff well." JedLowrie, who hit a home run leading off the ninth, broke up Hernandezs no-hit bid with a two-out single in the fourth. BrandonMoss, who had two hits, followed with a bloop double but Hernandez struck out YoenisCespedes on three pitches. "I saw the same guy I saw last week," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said. "Hes pretty good. Ill take that every time." CocoCrisp tripled with one out in the sixth but was stranded there when JoshDonaldson struck out and Lowrie popped out. Hernandez improved his record to 67-3 when going at least seven innings and allowing three or fewer runs. "When we can score first it puts pressure on the other team and makes Felix even better," Ackley said. "If we got one run, I thought it would be enough the way he was pitching." The Mariners pitching staff extended their club record season-opening streak to allowing three or fewer runs to five. Hernandez, who turns 28 on Tuesday, ranks fourth on the all-time list with 1,722 strikeouts before the age of 28 behind Sam McDowell, Bert Blyleven and Walter Johnson. NOTES: RHP SonnyGray (0-0, 0.00) will start Sundays series finale against the Mariners. The agreement Thursday was for $5,000 above the midpoint between the $2.4 million he had asked for and the $1.6 million the Indians had offered when the sides exchanged arbitration figures last month.CHICAGO -- UbaldoJimenez is doing his part to keep the Cleveland Indians in the playoff hunt. Jimenez pitched 8 1-3 strong innings and AsdrubalCabrera and LonnieChisenhall homered to lead Cleveland to an 8-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday night that helped the Indians keep pace in the AL wild-card race. Jimenez (12-9) scattered eight hits and struck out eight to win his third straight start, falling just two outs shy of his ninth career complete game and fourth shutout. The last time he did both was on June 1, 2011 with Colorado. "I was looking for my first shutout in the American League," Jimenez said. "I was able to establish my fastball down. Even when they got runners on base, I was able to get everything down for ground balls." The right-hander walked only one before being relieved by Chen-Chang Lee with one out and two on in the ninth. Chicago scored its lone run in the final inning on JoshPhegleys sac fly -- the first earned run charged to Jimenez in his last three outings. Jimenez is 4-2 in his last six starts, and through 40 innings he has allowed eight runs and struck out 50. And thats been a big boost for the Indians, especially with ace JustinMasterson on the disabled list. "Whether you have Masterson sidelined or not, when (Jimenez) takes the ball right now, hes legit kind of top-of-the-league stuff," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "You look at his numbers since a couple months now, its pretty damn good." Cabrera hit a two-run homer and Chisenhall added a three-run shot in a five-run fourth inning that powered the Indians to their 11th straight win against Chicago and third in a row overall to improve to 80-68. Texas, at 81-66, holds one wild-card spot and Tampa Bay at 80-66 has the other. "Everything counts right now," Jimenez said. "You never know what game is going to make the difference." Clevelands CarlosSantana went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs with a single in the sixth. Chicago starter AndreRienzo (2-2) lasted just four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks. nike free 3.0 gnstig. Rienzo was called up on July 30 and has allowed five or more runs in three of his last four starts. The White Sox, last in the AL Central, have lost five straight and 14 of 16. "I saw the stats flash a couple of nights ago where they are .500 against the league and then like (14-2) against us now," said Phegley, who went 3 for 3. "Weve single-handedly put them in the playoff race basically." Rienzo pitched out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam in the first by striking out MichaelBrantley and getting Cabrera to ground out. The Indians batted around and took a 5-0 lead in the fourth. With one out and Santana on first, Cabrera lofted his 13th homer to right to make it 2-0. After JasonGiambi walked and YanGomes singled, Chisenhall launched his 10th. Rienzo was relieved by Charlie Leesman after walking CarlosSantana to open the fifth. Santana made it 7-0 by driving in Chisenhall and Michael Bourne off Leesman in the sixth. RyanRaburn drove in a run with a sac fly in the ninth off AddisonReed. NOTES: Rienzo and Gomes are the only two Brazilians in the majors. Rienzo is the first Brazilian pitcher in MLB. ... RHP Masterson, who leads the team with 14 wins, did not throw Saturday after playing long-toss on two previous days. Hes expected to throw again Sunday. ... Francona is sticking to the "one game at time" approach when asked about the Indians chances of grabbing a playoff spot. "Logic says this probably going to go down near the wire," he said. "I think we just need to worry about winning tonight." ... White Sox 1B/DH AdamDunn, who is 3 for his last 34, was held out of the lineup on Saturday and manager RobinVentura said 1B/DH PaulKonerko would rest on Sunday. ... LOS ANGEGLES, Calif. jersyes nfl wholesale . -- Kings forward DustinPenner is turning a painful pancake experience into a win for local Los Angeles charities. Penner and the Kings Care Foundation announced on Friday that he would host "Pancakes with Penner," a fundraiser for the L.A.-based childrens charity run by the hockey team. Penner infamously suffered back spasms as he sat down to a pancake breakfast prepared by his wife in early January. The left-winger missed Los Angeles 1-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Jan. 7 as he recovered from the injury. "Pancakes with Penner" will have 75 fans and their guests join Penner for a buffet breakfast at an IHOP pancake restaurant in Los Angeles. "We are happy to support DustinPenner and the Kings Care Foundation with Pancakes for Penner," said Natalia Franco, IHOPs senior vice president, in a statement. "The Kings are incredibly involved in the community and their efforts help a lot of meaningful organizations in the Los Angeles area. "All of us at IHOP are also devoted to giving back to the communities in which we operate." Fans can purchase raffle tickets online for the chance to attend the event (http://lakings.com/pancakes). Money raised will go to the Kings Care Foundation. The charity has provided US$3.5 million in support for the L.A. community, including a $250,000 donation to develop a state-of-the-art Los Angeles Childrens Museum and a pledge of $250,000 to the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund, a non-profit organization that funds research at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Penner wrote a tongue-in-cheek open letter to address the pancake incident on Jan. 11 that was posted to a Kings fan blog. "First and foremost, I think we can agree that having delicious pancakes that your wife made for breakfast, for a 1pm game, is not out of the norm," wrote Penner. "Secondly, SOBS (Sudden Onset Back Spasms) can occur at any moment, doing just about anything you can think of, and is a very serious issue. "Those who have experienced SOBS, know it is no laughing matter. Im a little hurt, to tell you the truth, that the plight of my people isnt being taken seriously." jerseys from china . LOS ANGELES -- After failing to get past the fifth inning for the fifth consecutive outing, JoshBeckett was beating himself up pretty badly after a loss to the lowly Chicago Cubs. The three-time All-Star was lifted with none out in the fourth after giving up three hits, including a tiebreaking two-run homer by ChrisCoghlan, and the Los Angeles Dodgers ended up with a 7-3 defeat on Sunday in the rubber game of the series. "Ive got to do a better job of keeping the team in the game, not killing our bullpen every time I pitch," said Beckett, who struck out RyanSweeney with the bases loaded to end the third. "Youve got to make better pitches. Those guys are big league hitters. If you dont make pitches to these guys, they get hit. I didnt throw enough strikes, and the strikes I did throw werent good enough." Beckett (6-6) is 3-5 with a 3.30 ERA in 10 starts since his no-hitter on May 25 at Philadelphia, and has surrendered five homers in his first three starts off the disabled list after missing two weeks with a sore hip. One of his biggest problems, according to manager Don Mattingly, is the difficulty he has with his preparation between assignments. "In between starts is in between starts. You cant let that affect how your day goes," Beckett said after his first start against the Cubs since August 2005. "Physically, Im able to pitch. Im not worried about my hip. I felt better today, but the results are just as (poor). "I didnt throw a bullpen in between my last two starts, because I feel like its robbing Peter to pay Paul," he added. "I threw some flat ground, which kind of substitutes as my bullpens nowadays." Los Angeles NL West lead was trimmed to 2 1/2 games over San Francisco, which won 9-0 at the New York Mets. MattKemp trimmed Chicagos lead to 3-2 in the sixth with his 13th homer and fifth in six games. But Cubs first baseman AnthonyRizzo helped preserve the lead in the seventh, making a leaping grab of CarlCrawfords line drive and turning it into an inning-ennding double play by trapping DrewButera off second. cheap jerseys. The Cubs made it 6-2 in the eighth with JohnBakers RBI groundout and a two-run single by pinch-hitter StarlinCastro, who was rested after starting each of the teams first 109 games. EdwinJackson (6-11) allowed two runs and seven hits, struck out six and walked none. The right-hander was 0-4 with a 7.39 ERA in his previous seven starts since beating Pittsburgh 6-3 on June 20 at Wrigley Field. SMELL THE WOOD? ST. Kelvin Herrera Royals Jersey . LOUIS -- The Dallas Stars are trying to make a late playoff push. Against a team battling for first place overall in the league, the Stars stepped up their game. ColtonSceviour got the first two goals and AntoineRoussel scored on a breakaway in the third period to give the Stars a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. "This was a huge test for us," goalie KariLehtonen said. "One of the best teams in the league and we played last night and travelled here late, and showed up, and it was just a huge win." CodyEakin had a goal and assist and Lehtonen made 33 saves for the Stars, who have won four of five in pursuit of a Western Conference playoff spot. Dallas entered the day three points out of a playoff spot before winning for the second straight night and saddling the Blues with just their sixth regulation home loss. The Stars opened a five-game trip after beating the Predators 7-3 on Friday and won without production from their top line of TylerSeguin, JamieBenn and ValeriNichushkin. "I dont know if desperation is the word. That kind of sounds bad," Sceviour said. "But definitely we feel like these are games we need to win. "This is a start and we want to build off it." Alex Steen had a pair of power-play goals for the Blues, who had been 8-0-2 in their previous 10 at home including an overtime loss to Dallas earlier this month. St. Louis fell one point behind Boston for first place overall in the NHL after a showing coach Ken Hitchcock labeled "sloppy." "What we are right now is too inconsistent," Hitchcock said. "Weve got too many players who are having good games and then are following it up with poor games." "Have to send a few messages here in the next couple games and see if we can get everybodys attention." Dallas led 1-0 and 3-1 against the Central Division leaders. Roussel skated in alone on RyanMiller for the clincher after the puck hopped over defenceman KevinShattenkirks stick at the opposite blue line at 7:56 of the third. If the Blues had been ahead, Shattenkirk would not have been trying to hold the line. "We feel like wed been all over them in the third period, then they get the fourth one," Steen said. "We were a little late tonight." Steen has 33 goals on the season. He scored on a deflection from the high slot in the second period and beat Lehtonen scrambling across the net on a long rebound in the opening minute of the third, each time shaving the deficit to one. Sceviour has three goals the past two games and Eakin also has scored in consecutive games for the Stars. Hitchcock picked a trio of former Stars -- SteveOtt, BrendenMorrow and DerekRoy -- for the opening faceoff. That line surrendered the only goal of the first period, with Otts turnover leading to Sceviours sixth of the season, and finished a combined minus-5. Sceviour tapped in a rebound off his skate to make it 2-0 at 7:21 of the second. "Theyre not the prettiest goals, but well take them," Sceviour said. Dallas needed just 25 seconds to answer Steens first goal on Eakins deflection. Notes: Stars D AlexGoligoski tied his career high with four points against Nashville on Friday a day later when a scoring change gave him a fourth assist in a 7-3 victory over Nashville, and he had an assist in the second period against St. Louis. Stars F VernonFiddler earned his 200th career point on a second-period assist. ... Stars coach Lindy Ruff worked his 1,239th game, tying Bryan Murray for 10th on the career list. ... LONDON -- A decade after kicking a boot at David Beckhams head, Alex Ferguson used his autobiography to criticize the stars apparent pre-occupation with fame. Wholesale Jerseys From China . At Manchester United, Ferguson developed Beckham into one of the worlds most recognizable sportsmen, but the midfielder left United in 2003 for Real Madrid under a cloud after his relationship with the manager broke down. "David was the only player I managed who chose to be famous, who made it his mission to be known outside the game," the 71-year-old Ferguson wrote in his autobiography, which will be released on Thursday. "I felt uncomfortable with the celebrity aspect of his life." By moving to the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007 after four years at Madrid, Ferguson said Beckham "surrendered a part of his career." In the 2002-03 season, Ferguson had concerns that Beckhams "application level had dropped" and his "work-rate was dropping." There was no way back after the February 2003 match against Arsenal. Ferguson was unhappy that Beckham neglected to track back when Arsenal scored its second goal in a 2-0 win. "As usual, with David at that time, he was dismissive of my criticism," Ferguson wrote. "Its possible that he was starting to think he was no longer needed to track back and chase." In the dressing room, Ferguson recalls Beckham swearing nearby before the boot flew. "I moved towards him, and as I approached I kicked a boot. It hit him right above the eye," Ferguson recalled. "Of course he rose to have a go at me and the players stopped him." After that, Ferguson told the board that Beckham had to leave. "The big problem for me -- and Im a football man -- he fell in love with (former Spice Girl) Victoria and that changed everything," Ferguson said Tuesday at his book launch. In the book, Ferguson detailed Beckhams insubordination, despairing when he refused to remove a beanie hat at a team dinner. By that time, Ferguson said, Beckham had been "swallowed up" by publicity agents. "David thought he was bigger than Alex Ferguson," Ferguson wrote. "You cannot have a player taking over the dressing room. Many tried. ... The focus of authority at Manchester United is the managers office. That was the death knell for him." Beckham was sold to Real Madrid in 2003, and made the surprise move away from Europe to the Los Angeles Galaxy. "I imagine he also had his eyes on Hollywood and the impact it would have on the next phase of his career," Ferguson wrote. "There was no footballing reason to go to America." Beckham ended his stint in LA last year, then spent five months at Paris Saint-Germain before retiring. "He is an icon to every kid in the world," Ferguson said Tuesday, stressing that he admired Beckham. Ferguson retired in May after winning his 13th Premier League title, bringing an end to the most successful managerial career in British football history. Among the 38 trophies won between 1986 and 2013 were two Champions League titles. Here are other highlights from Fergusons new autobiography, following up the first published in 1999. ------ WAYNE ROONEY The final days of Fergusons reign were overshadowed by Rooney asking to leave United due to his lack of playing time. The transfer request was refused by successor David Moyes. Rooney, who joined United from Everton in 2004, first stunned Ferguson in 2010 by asking to leave, complaining about the apparent lack of stars in the team. In the book, Ferguson recalled Rooney telling him United should have signed Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil in 2010 before he joined Real Madrid from Werder Bremen. "My reply was that it was none of his business who we should have gone for," Ferguson wrote. Ferguson told reporters on Tuesday that Ozil, who joined Arsenal in September, was "not on our radar" in 2010. As for Rooney, Ferguson, who remains at United as a director, is delighted with how the striker has performed this season. "Do you think I would drop Wayne Rooney if he was playing the way he is now? Absolutely no way," Ferguson said at the Institute of Directors in London. ------ ENGLAND JOB As a Scotsman who briefly coached his country at the 1986 World Cup, Ferguson was never going to take charge of rival England. The English Football Association tried -- twice. First, in 1999 before Kevin Keegan took charge, and again the following year before Sven-Goran Eriksson was hired. "It wasnt a bed of nails I was ever tempted to lie on," Ferguson wrote. Later on, Ferguson was irritated by Englands medical staff turning up at Uniteds training ground to check on players. "Often I felt that this was an insult to us," Ferguson wrote. "I wondered whether my Scottishness was a factor, a reason not to trust me." ------ ROY KEANE In the book Ferguson criticizes the "savage tongue" of former captain Roy Keane, who was forced out of United in 2005 after the Irishmans rant against his teammates and assistant coach Carlos Queiroz on Uniteds television channel. The interview has never been aired. "I just couldnt lose my control in this situation," Ferguson said Tuesday. "If I had let it pass and allowed it to happen the players would have viewed me differently ... throughout my career I have been strong enough to deal with important issues like that. Roy overstepped his mark. There was no other thing we could do." Keane accused Ferguson of bringing his dispute with shareholder John Magnier over a racehorse into the club. The legal battle before the club was sold to the Glazer family in 2005 is one issue Ferguson doesnt go into detail on in his memoirs. Similarly, Ferguson only has praise for the American owners despite fans criticizing the cost of servicing the debt resulting from their leveraged takeover. Wholesale Jerseys . Both Lawrie and his manager agree it isnt preferable. What it is: a consequence of a game played without the designated hitter. "Im a third baseman," said Lawrie. Jerseys Wholesale . -- UFC president Dana White has dismissed Georges St-Pierres concerns about drug testing, calling them ridiculous and "a little kooky.LONDON -- The independent panel investigating doping in cycling hopes the chance for reduced bans and even immunity will encourage witnesses -- including Lance Armstrong -- to come forward. Tasked with shedding more light on the sports tainted past, the three-man commission, which is also investigating whether cyclings governing body colluded with Armstrong, has the power to propose reduced sanctions against testimonies. It has been set up with the approval of the World Anti-Doping Agency and will be able to seal deals with cheats offering valuable information. "The reduced bans will obviously apply to people who have not been already sanctioned," commission chairman Dick Marty told a conference call on Tuesday, adding that immunity could also be granted in some cases if the information is of "great importance." Armstrong has already been banned from Olympic sports for life but can still hope his case will be reviewed if he gives substantial information to the panel based in Lausanne, Switzerland. "For those who have already been punished and are still willing to give important information, the commission can advise the competent authorities to reconsider and shorten their bans," Marty said. The panel, which had a UCI-funded budget of 3 million Swiss francs ($3.35 million) was a key element in the manifesto of Brian Cookson, who was elected UCI president last year after defeating Pat McQuaid. It started its work on Tuesday with the aim of producing a comprehensive report within a year. "Its not just about learning from the past, its also learning lessons for the future so we dont make the same mistakes," Cookson said. The commissions main job is to determine how the culture of doping was able to flourish within cycling and to "discover the main providers and facilitators of doping in cycling" since the Festina affair in 1998. Armstrong has said he would co-operate with any international commission on doping inn cycling. Wholesale Jerseys China. He has so far refused to provide sworn testimony to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, whose detailed report in 2012 of drug use by Armstrongs U.S. Postal Service team led to him being stripped of his seven Tour de France titles. Cookson did not say whether Armstrong or former UCI presidents Hein Verbruggen and McQuaid had been contacted by the commission but added they would be more than welcomed. The UCI and Verbruggen have been accused of protecting Armstrong and helping cover up his doping. The American might be interested in co-operating after telling a British newspaper last year that Verbruggen helped him cover up doping at the 1999 Tour de France. Verbruggen dismissed it as a "ridiculous story." "There will an invitation to anyone who comes forward," Cookson said. "To anybody, Lance Armstrong or anybody else. Please come forward and offer your information to the commission. ... This is a window of opportunity." Both Marty and Cookson said confidentiality will be granted to witnesses but all the criminal offences compiled will be transmitted to the relevant authorities, whichever the country. They added that negotiations will take place with possible witnesses ahead of their testimonies in order to determine if the information they can provide justifies a reduced ban. "There can be preliminary discussions but until the evidence has been heard it is impossible to determine the amount of sanction reduction," Cookson said. "The reduced sanctions will only apply for the period that the commission is operating, and the danger is other people will come forward. If anyone has something to hide now is the time to come forward and tell all of the truth before someone else comes and tells the truth about your activities." The other members of the commission are German anti-doping expert Ulrich Haas and Peter Nicholson, a former Australian military officer and war crimes investigator. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

PHILADELPHIA - Once it came down to a shootout, this was no contest. Wholesale Jerseys From China . TylerSeguin scored the decisive goal against IlyaBryzgalov in a shootout and TimThomas and the Boston Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-5 on Sunday. Thomas finally allowed a shootout goal after going 9 for 9, but he stopped WayneSimmonds to end it. Meanwhile, Bryzgalov has allowed goals on all five shots hes faced in shootouts this season. "As a goalie, I would prefer to go to shootout at 1-1 or 2-2," Thomas said. "We need to improve. We played some real good hockey a majority of the year. Weve found a way to get points. Its nice to win, but we want to do it the right way." The Northeast Division-leading Bruins havent lost in regulation in Philadelphia since March 10, 2007, going 9-0-1. The defending Stanley Cup champions are tied with the New York Rangers for first place in the Eastern Conference. PatriceBergeron, Seguin, MilanLucic, DavidKrejci and GregoryCampbell scored Bostons goals. ScottHartnell scored a natural hat trick in the second period and Max Talbot had two goals for Philadelphia. Philadelphias MattRead missed the net on the first shot in the shootout. Krejci then scored for the Bruins. ClaudeGiroux answered for Philadelphia, becoming the first person to score on Thomas in three shootouts this season. After Seguin beat a sprawling Bryzgalov, Thomas stuffed Simmonds. "Our whole team could have been better," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "(Thomas) was bombarded with shots. There was a lot of traffic. We battled hard and did what we had to do to win." The injury-riddled Flyers, already missing captain ChrisPronger for the rest of the season because of a concussion, played without DannyBriere (concussion) and JaromirJagr (lower-body injury). Both players were injured in Saturdays 4-1 win at New Jersey. Coach Peter Laviolette was encouraged by the teams performance this weekend without some of its star players. "Its hard when you lose a game," he said. "Overall, the effort was some of the best Ive seen." Leading 4-3 to start the third, the Flyers failed to become the first team to overcome a two-goal deficit against Boston this season. Krejci redirected RichPeverleys shot to tie it at four just 1:19 into the third period. Campbell scored the go-ahead goal less than four minutes later when he tapped in DanielPailles wraparound shot. Talbot tied it at five when he tipped MattCarles slapshot past Thomas during a power play. These teams have become rivals after meeting in the playoffs the past two seasons. The Bruins won their sixth Stanley Cup last year, sweeping Philadelphia out of the Eastern Conference semifinals in the process. In 2010, the Flyers overcame a 3-0 series deficit and 3-0 deficit in Game 7 and beat Boston in the semis. "They are a team with a lot of pride," Lucic said. "We expected them to be tough. The Flyers always bring their best. We are two of the top teams in the league. Weve played well all season and its great to get a win." The shaggy-haired Hartnell, having the best season of his career, scored three straight goals to give the Flyers a 4-3 lead in the second. He leads the team with 25 goals, five shy of his career high set in 2008-09. Despite his success, Hartnell wasnt selected to play in the all-star game next week in Ottawa. "I havent really thought about it," he said. "It wouldve been a treat to get picked and get credit for the start of the season. Last couple games have been pretty good. I have plans made already. But if I get the call (to replace someone), Id be there in a heartbeat." Hartnell got Philadelphia within 3-2 on a power-play goal a few minutes into the period when he blasted a one-timer while down on one knee. Hartnell then scored a nifty goal to tie it at three. He caught a pass from Giroux, dropped the puck, turned around and lifted a shot over defenceman AdamMcQuaid that fluttered above Thomas stick. Hartnell put the Flyers up 4-3 in the final minute of the period. He lost his stick during the shift, skated over to the bench to grab another one, returned to the circle and ripped another shot past Thomas. Fans littered the ice with hats to celebrate Hartnells sixth career three-goal game and first since Dec. 20, 2008. With only 46.5 seconds left in the second, players went back to their lockers and added the extra time to the final period. Bergeron scored his 15th goal to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead just 50 seconds into the game. Talbot tied it at one when his crossing pass to JakubVoracek hit off Bruins defenceman DennisSeidenberg, bounced off Thomas pads and went in. But the Bruins answered with two goals in a span of 3:29 to go up 3-1. Seguin scored his 18th goal near the midpoint of the first. Lucic then fired a shot from the slot over Bryzgalovs shoulder to put Boston ahead 3-1. There were two fights and another scuffle during a feisty first period. TomSestito, just recalled by the Flyers because of the injuries, dropped the gloves against Lucic early in the game. Later, Bostons ChrisKelly went after BraydenSchenn after the rookie delivered a crushing check on StevenKampfer. Bryzgalov then got a roughing penalty that precipitated a shoving match. Players squared off two more times during the game. The Flyers and Bruins are the two most penalized teams in the NHL. Notes: Bruins D AndrewFerence was suspended three games without pay by the NHL for boarding New York Rangers defenceman RyanMcDonagh during overtime of a 3-2 loss on Saturday. The suspension will cost Ference US$36,486.48. "My opinion (on the ruling) I think is best reserved for friends and family," Ference said. ... Shelley surpassed 1,500 career penalty minutes with his fight. ... Briere is out indefinitely. Hes the sixth Flyers player to sustain a concussion this season. ... JeffCarter was the last Flyer to score a natural hat trick on Nov. 11, 2010. ... Boston is 24-0 in games in which it has led by two goals at any point. ... Game 79 of the regular season schedule will go down as the game when the Winnipeg Jets were mathematically eliminated from the Eastern Conference playoff race. Nike Blazer Mens Sale . The Jets dropped a 3-2 overtime game in Tampa Bay on Saturday, while the Washington Capitals beat Montreal in a shootout giving the Capitals 88 points to the Jets 81. The Jets have only three games remaining. It was the Jets second straight overtime game. For two periods the Jets were solid. Second period goals by Antti Miettienen and KyleWellwood erased the Tampa 1-0 first period lead. The 18 goals for Wellwood ties a career high for goals in a season. The Jets got themselves into penalty trouble in the third, resulting in two brief 5 of 3 advantages for the Lightning. The penalty kill was successful when two men down, but eventually RyanMalones second of the night, on a power play tied it. The Lightning built momentum off the power plays getting 21 third period shots on OndrejPavelec who was terrific. Late in the third he stopped the NHLs leading goal scorer StevenStamkos on a breakaway, while at the other end SebastienCaron in his first start for Tampa followed that up with a point blank save off BryanLittle. A third period melee in front of the Lightning net resulted in AndrewLadd picking up 17 minutes in penalties, ending his night. In overtime a controversial non-icing call lead to Stamkos scoring his 56th of the year and also his league leading fifth overtime winner of the season. DustinByfuglien went back for a puck that was sent in from the Tampa side of centre, and with no whistle the Lightning gained control leading to the winner 45 seconds into overtime. The Jets are now 5-5 in games that end in overtime. "The effort was good, but you cant keep taking penalties," head coach Claude Noel told the media post-game. "They built all their third period momentum off the power play. But well take three of four points in the first two games on the road trip and move on." The Jets next take to the ice on Tuesday against the Panthers (TSN Jets, TSN 1290) NikAntropov had his four game goal streak snapped, while Byfuglien was again over 25 minutes. DANVILLE, Ill. -- Former Toronto Raptor KeonClark, who has said he is trying to turn his life around, was sentenced to eight years in prison Wednesday in a plea agreement with prosecutors on weapons and driving under the influence charges. He previously told the newspaper he wasnt prepared mentally to handle the lifestyle of a professional athlete, and says he was already on a "destructive path." "The money, the fame, the fact that I was on TV. People think money will make your life better. Money didnt dissolve my problems. It increased them," he said, adding that hes been getting counselling while hes in custody. Clark has been in the Vermilion Countyy jail since Aug. He will receive credit for 138 days already served and must serve his sentences consecutively. Clarks defence lawyers requested that the judge recommend he serve time at an Illinois Department of Corrections drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility outside Chicago so he can continue treatment. Lawyer Jim Martinkus of Champaign said after the hearing that he hopes Clarks treatment would "cure him of his addiction, which is the cause of most of his troubles." Clark smiled and waved to supporters at the beginning of the hearing, including his mother and members of the Carter Metropolitan Community Church in Danville. At one point during the hearing, he stood and addressed them, saying, "It couldve been a lot worse. Its going to be a lot better." Clark played six seasons in the NBA, including a season and a half in Toronto. The Raptors acquired him in a trade from Denver midway through the 2000-01 season. He averaged nine points and 5.4 rebounds over 46 games. Clark played the entire 2001-02 season with Toronto, making 31 starts. He had his best statistical year, averaging career highs in points (11.3) and rebounds (7.4). Clark averaged 8.2 points and 5.9 rebounds over 353 career games. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

The functionality of these two Kitchen Faucets types is extremely controversial and maybe rationally recommended in favor of one type no matter whether it is one handle or two handles. The most convenient way to bargain is to say that both are similarly useful and extremely durable. Nevertheless, many people more often find several justifications to fix single handle Bathtub Faucets models for reasons such as convenience, and easy workability. The two handle Kitchen sink faucets, on the other hand, can improve the overall appearance of a kitchen in contemporary houses to a large degree.

NEW YORK -- RyanMcDonagh scored off a rebound of DanGirardis shot 1:56 into overtime to complete the New York Rangers surprising rally in a 4-3 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night. Wholesale Jerseys . McDonagh put the puck past backup goalie ThomasGreiss, who relieved injured starter MikeSmith in the third period and then gave up the tying and winning goals. Girardi got the Rangers even with 3:26 left in regulation when he tipped in a drive by his defence partner McDonagh. BradRichards and DerickBrassard scored in the second period when New York erased a 2-0 deficit Phoenix built in the first. HenrikLundqvist made 18 saves to win on a night he was honoured for recently breaking Rangers marks for career victories and shutouts. The Rangers fourth straight win pushed them one point ahead of Philadelphia and into second place in the Metropolitan Division with nine games left. Philadelphia, which has two games in hand on the Rangers, will meet them in New York on Wednesday. KyleChipchura had a rare goal and assist, and defenceman Oilver Ekman-Larsson and JeffHalpern also scored for the Coyotes, who hold the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Chipchura, who entered with only two goals and 11 assists in 69 games, helped set up Halperns goal and then was credited with the go-ahead tally when Rangers forward ChrisKreider knocked the puck into his own net. Smith stopped 25 shots while making his 12th consecutive start, but was forced to leave with 7:34 left in regulation after he injured his right leg when Brassard was pushed into him by Coyotes defenceman DerekMorris. Greiss came on for his first action since Feb. 28 and stopped seven of nine shots. The Rangers needed two big rallies to keep their winning streak alive. After being ushered off the ice by a chorus of boos following a poor first, the Rangers got Madison Square Garden rocking in the second, but Phoenix went back in front before the second intermission. Richards cut the Coyotes lead in half at 6:10 when a drive by CarlHagelin found its way through traffic, hit him, and bounded between Smiths pads for Richards 17th goal and first in 11 games. The Rangers tied it with 9:07 left off hard work by Brassard. Brassard bumped with Chipchura in the neutral zone to get the puck into the Phoenix end, and then netted his 17th. Brassards pass attempt in front bounced back to him in the right circle, and he sent a rising shot into the top right corner to make it 2-2. The Rangers were nowhere near the top of their game at the start, and they paid for it. Just 29 seconds after RickNash was sent off for tripping, Ekman-Larsson scored his 13th of the season with a stick-bending wrist shot from the right circle at 4:40. Smith, who stopped 10 shots in the first period, earned his third assist of the season. Lundqvist kept Phoenix at bay for a bit, but he was hung out to dry by his teammates when Halpern made it 2-0 on the Coyotes fifth shot. Chipchura made a backhanded pass from below the goal line in front to a wide-open Halpern for a quick shot past Lundqvist at 8:22 for his fifth goal. It appeared the Rangers would be no worse than tied going into the third, but Kreider deflected an attempted centring pass by Chipchura from the left-wing boards between Lundqvists legs to make it 3-2 with 1:09 left in the second. Lundqvist angrily swept the puck out of the net as Chipchura celebrated his third goal of the season and first in 57 games, dating to Oct. 29 vs. Los Angeles. The "Chicks Dig the Long Ball" campaign is long dead and buried, but it might be time for a revival this week in Cincinnati. wholesale jerseys china . The Reds will host the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight in the opener of a four-game series at Great American Ball Park, and the debut matchup will feature a pair of pitchers whose recent resumes have included a fair number of bases-clearing hits. Watch the game live on TSN2at 7pm et/4pm pt. Los Angeles veteran DanHaren has served up seven home runs in his last 24 innings of work over his last four starts, losing three decisions while posting a 4.88 earned run average. Two homers came in six innings of a 4-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. Oddly, hed given up just three homers in his first eight starts this season, during which he was 5-1. Hes also allowed 11 long balls in eight games against Cincinnati, a stretch in which hes 3-3 with a 4.95 ERA. In fact, three Cincinnati players -- BrandonPhillips, RyanLudwick and Zack Cosart -- have two apiece. Meanwhile, TonyCingrani gets the start for the Reds amid a four-start losing streak since he returned from a bout with tendinitis in his left shoulder. Hes surrendered seven home runs in 22 2/3 innings in the comeback portion of the season, after having allowed just three round-trippers in 32 1/3 innings to begin the season. Cingrani gave up two homers and three runs overall in a 5 2/3-inning stint against San Francisco on Wednesday. In one career meeting with Los Angeles last July, he tossed seven innings of scoreless ball and struck out 11 in a game that the Reds ultimately lost, 1-0. On Sunday in Colorado, ClaytonKershaw tossed an impressive five innings of one-run ball to guide the Dodgers to a 6-1 victory over the Rockies as the game was called after 5 1/2 innings due to rain. Kershaw allowed just three hits, one being a solo homer, while fanning nine across five innings of work. HanleyRamirez stroked a solo home run and MattKemp went 2-for-2 with a two- run triple for the Dodgers. In Cincinnati, HomerBailey had an impressive day, firing eight innings of one-run ball and driving in two runs to help the Reds to a 4-1 victory against the Philadelphia Phillies in the rubber match of a three-game set. Bailey (7-3) allowed just six hits and three walks while fanning seven to win his fourth consecutive start. He also hit the go-ahead two-run single in the fifth to support his own cause. BillyHamilton stroked a two-run home run for the Reds, winners of two straight after a three-game skid. The Dodgers won two of three at home versus the Reds on May 26-28. wholesale jerseys . Bottom line, owner James Dolan needs to stay out of the way. Jackson must have the ability to select his GM, front office staff, coaches, support staff and have final say on all player issues.PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Penguins spot in the post-season is assured. The Phoenix Coyotes are living much more dangerously. For long stretches during Phoenixs 3-2 win on Tuesday night, it certainly looked like the other way around. Pouncing on a series of sloppy mistakes by the suddenly erratic Penguins, the Coyotes picked up two vital points in the chase for the eighth-seed in the Western Conference playoffs. ThomasGreiss stopped 23 shots -- including all 15 he faced over the final two periods -- and received plenty of help as Phoenix rebounded a night after losing starting goaltender MikeSmith indefinitely with a right leg injury in a loss to the New York Rangers on Monday. DavidMoss, AntoineVermette and MikkelBoedker scored for the Coyotes, who never trailed while dropping the Metropolitan Division-leading Penguins to just 6-6-2 since the Olympic break. "It gives confidence that if you can win in Pittsburgh you can win anywhere," Phoenix forward ShaneDoan said. JussiJokinen and TaylorPyatt scored for the Penguins. Marc-AndreFleury made 26 saves, but the Penguins failed to clinch a playoff berth and looked lifeless at times without centre EvgeniMalkin, who is out 2-3 weeks after hurting his foot in a loss to St. Louis on Sunday. While hes expected by the end of the regular season, his absence is just the latest setback in a season in which Pittsburgh has lost over 400 man games due to injuries. It didnt seem to bother the Penguins as they built a seemingly insurmountable division lead. Coach DanBylsma isnt sure now is the time to start throwing around blame. "I dont think injuries had anything to do with today or what you saw on the ice," he said. More disconcerting for Pittsburgh is its lack of focus. The Penguins held a brief players only meeting after the game and cancelled a scheduled practice on Wednesday. "I dont think theres anyone feeling sorry for us, but that still doesnt allow us not to have the right type of effort and work ethic," centre SidneyCrosby said. Phoenixs play had a little bit to do with it. If the Coyotes were rattled by the loss of their franchise goaltender, it didnt exactly show. Greiss has been effective when sspelling Smith this season, though he wasnt sharp while allowing the Rangers to steal two points Monday by rallying for an overtime victory after he replaced Smith with 7:32 left in regulation and the Coyotes holding a one-goal lead. wholesale jerseys from china. No matter. Despite a short turnaround in the midst of a three-game road trip that could shape the final weeks of the regular season, Greiss kept the Penguins in check. "I thought we did a good job of being close to one another," Moss said. "It seemed like if there was a breakdown, there was support. If they had a chance, (Greiss) made a huge save." Whenever Pittsburgh made a mistake deep in its own zone, the Coyotes were there to take advantage. Moss picked up his seventh goal of the year when great forechecking by MartinHanzal and BrandonMcMillan produced a turnover that ended with Moss all alone in front of the Penguins net. Jokinens 18th goal of the season tied it 11:51 into the period, kind of. His wrist shot caromed out of the back of the net so quickly the goal light never came on. Play continued for nearly 3 minutes before a stoppage in play provided time for the goal to be awarded on replay. Vermette put Phoenix back in front with a power-play goal, poking a rebound between Fleurys legs. Pyatt knotted it at 2 with just 4 seconds left in the first by deflecting in RobScuderis shot from the point. The back-and-forth play, however, stopped over the final 40 minutes as the Coyotes choked off the Penguins while continuing to effectively counterpunch. Boedker put Phoenix in front to stay 13:18 into the second period by grabbing a rebound in front of the Pittsburgh net and roofing it over Fleurys glove as a penalty to Jokinen expired. NOTES: Injured Penguins defenceman PaulMartin did not skate on Tuesday morning due to an illness. Martin, who has not played since injuring his hand while playing for Team USA in the Winter Olympics, will have an X-ray on Sunday to determine his progress. ... The Coyotes recalled G MarkVisentin from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League to serve as the backup until Smiths status is determined. ... KANSAS CITY, Mo. Prezzo New Balance 574 Bambino . -- The Chiefs parted ways with veteran defensive back DuntaRobinson, who never quite lived up to expectations last season, and signed CFL wide receiver Weston Dressler on Friday. Robinson was just one year into a $13.75 million, three-year deal that the Chiefs hoped would provide a veteran presence in what became a vastly retooled defensive backfield. Instead, Robinson was slowed by a series of nagging injuries and appeared in only nine games, making 14 tackles and defending just two passes. He was also part of a defence that was torched by Indianapolis wide receivers in a loss that knocked Kansas City out of the playoffs. The move was widely expected not only because the 31-year-old Robinson struggled most of the season, gradually losing playing time to undrafted free agent MarcusCooper, but also because the cash-strapped Chiefs would save more than $3 million. The Chiefs were bumping along the just below the salary cap at the beginning of the week, and theyre expected to make more moves -- perhaps restructuring some of the long-term contracts signed by the previous regime -- so that they can sign their draft class and be active in free agency. Kansas City is expected to lose Pro Bowl left tackle BrandenAlbert, who was franchised last season, though there are several in-house candidates to replace him. Offensive linemen JonAsamoah and GeoffSchwartz are also hitting free agency, as are defensive tackle TysonJackson, safety KendrickLewis and Pro Bowl punt returner DexterMcCluster. The move to sign Dressler, who spent the past six years in the CFL, could be in response to McCluster likely demanding a contract far more lucrative than the Chiefs are willing to pay. Dressler, a former North Dakota standout, caught 442 passes for 6,531 yards and 43 touchdowns for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, helping them win the Grey Cup this past season. Hes also proven that he can return kicks and punts, in essence many of the things McCluster did for the Chiefs. "Ever since the first time I touched a football, thats something I dreamed about, having an opportunity to play in the NFL, on the games biggest stage," Dressler said during a recent news conference, when he was released by Saskatchewan and finalizing a deal with an NFL team. It was unclear at the time that his landing spot would be Kansas City. "To kind of get to that point now is pretty surreal," Dressler said. The Chiefs didnt announce Dresslers signing until Friday, even though his name popped up on the leagues transaction report earlier in the week. Terms of his deal were not available. "Money wasnt a factor for me in this decision," Dressler said. "Its a decision based on an opportunity I feel like I have a very good chance to make a football team." Nike Air Max 90 Uomo . Bortles, one of three quarterbacks vying to be the first taken in the NFL Draft in May alongside Bridgewater and JohnnyManziel, helped his cause by impressing scouts with a clean performance at the UCF Pro Day Wednesday, according to reports.Nike Free 3.0 v4 Uomo . -- One game. After a season featuring more losses than wins, thats all that separates the New York Knicks and the final post-season spot in the weak Eastern Conference standings.CHICAGO -- Both the Chicago Bulls and the Minnesota Timberwolves were missing their starting centres. The Timberwolves were able to overcome the adversity. KevinLove scored 31 points to lead the Timberwolves over the Bulls 95-86 Monday night. RonnyTuriaf added 14 points for the Timberwolves, who snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Bulls and won for the fourth time in five games overall. Timberwolves centre NikolaPekovic exited with a sore right Achilles tendon midway through the first quarter. Turiaf, who was averaging 2.3 points, scored a season high in his absence. "He stepped up when Pekovic went out, and he brings a lot," Timberwolves guard RickyRubio said. "He brought everything he had." The Bulls were also without their starting centre. JoakimNoah was sent home before the game due to an illness. KirkHinrich (strained right hamstring) missed his fourth straight game. "They had some people out too, but we knew it was going to be a physical game," Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said. "We knew how they were going to play, and I thought we responded pretty well." CarlosBoozer had 20 points and 14 rebounds, and D.J.Augustin added 19 points for the Bulls. Pekovic, who was averaging 18.4 points and 9.3 rebounds, said he hopes his injury is not serious. The injury has been bothering Pekovic during the teams road trip, Adelman said. Pekovic had one point and one rebound in 6 minutes. In Pekovics absence, Turiaf grabbed seven rebounds and had his highest-scoring game since he scored 19 points on Jan. 11, 2011, for the New York Knicks against the Portland Trailblazers. "My goal this year, regardless of the situation, is just to go out there and have some fun," Turiaf said. "No matter how much or how little I play, I just want to have fun." The Bulls pulled within five with 1:29 left on Augustins 3-pointer but got no closer. Love answered with a layup with 1:10 remaining, and CoreyBrewers dunk gave the Timberwolves ann 88-79 lead with 57. Scarpa Nike Air Max 90 Uomo. 4 seconds left. Gibson started at centre in place of Noah and had eight points and seven rebounds at halftime before running into foul trouble in the second half. "Hes an All-Star. Youre going to feel it," Gibson said about the Bulls missing Noah. "He was playing real phenomenal. Hes one of the vocal leaders, rebounding, playing defence, controlling the offensive end and making plays for guys. "We got to keep pushing forward." The Timberwolves went cold in the third quarter as the Bulls outscored them 19-18 and pulled within five. Minnesota had one field goal in the final 7:38 of the period -- Budingers dunk with 34.9 seconds left. The Wolves led 72-65 heading into the fourth. The Bulls had won by an average of 13.3 points during their seven-game winning streak against the Timberwolves. Minnesota last won in Chicago on Jan. 3, 2009. "When you lose a guy like Jo your margin for error is smaller," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said about Noah. "We can get it done. Youve got to give Minnesota credit. Theyre playing real well right now. We can never lose sight of how hard we have to play. We cant play hard for 32 minutes. We have to play hard the whole game." ST. Nike Air Max Thea Mujer . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- EvanLongoria savored another win-or-go-home victory for the Tampa Bay Rays. "I think we all understand the stakes. We all understand that we have our backs to the wall. And it seems like those moments have been fueling us," the three-time All-Star said Monday night after JoseLobatons two-out, ninth-inning homer gave the Rays a 5-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox and renewed hope in the AL division series. "These are the game that weve really played well in. Although youd like to be on the other side, maybe we need that now." Tampa Bay won when facing elimination for the fourth time in nine days, trimming Bostons lead to 2-1 in the best-of-five matchup. Game 4 is Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, with JakePeavy starting for the Red Sox against JeremyHellickson. "They have a great team. They never quit. Weve seen that ... everyone knows that. Weve just got to be one run better than them (Tuesday)," Bostons DustinPedroia said. "Well be all right. Well be fine." As hes done so often in his career, Longoria provided the spark that turned a potentially bleak night into a special moment in Rays history. The only player whos appeared in every post-season game Tampa Bay has ever played homered off ClayBuchholz in the fifth inning. The three-run shot erased a 3-0 deficit and boosted sagging hopes. We needed that badly, theres no denying," manager Joe Maddon said. "After we saw that ... its kind of like the energy came back," Lobaton added. "Everybody was kind of like, weve got a chance now." Lobatons solo homer off KojiUehara landed into the giant fish tank beyond the centre-field wall. The Red Sox closer didnt allow a home run in his last 37 regular-season appearances. "Koji has been tough, man. Hes been a really bright spot on that ballclub. To be able to come through in that moment, those are the kind of things that were going to need to propel us forward," Longoria said. Back home after two weeks on the road, the Rays gave a sellout crowd of 33,675 little to cheer until Longoria homered on his 28th birthday. Pinch-hitter DelmonYoung, who has a penchant for driving home key runs in October, put the Rays ahead 4-3 with an RBI grounder in the eighth. The Red Sox made it 4-all in the ninth on Pedroias RBI grounder after closer FernandoRodney issued a leadoff walk to WillMiddlebrooks. Rodney got the win when Lobaton golfed a low pitch to right-centre, ending the 4-hour, 19-minute game. The ball deflected off a fan trying to catch the souvenir and wound up in the 10,000-gallon tank where cownose rays swim around. Rays manager Joe Maddon said he was studying his lineup when he heard the crack of the bat. "Look up and the ball is going towards the tank, which nobody hits home runs there. Nobody does. How about that? Its incredible," he said. The last time Uehara gave up a homer was June 30 to Toronto slugger JoseBautista. "You dont expect it ... I think thats what makes it a little tougher," Red Sox right fielder ShaneVictorino said of Lobatons homer. "Ill hand the ball to Koji (Tuesday) if we need to. I have all the confidence in him. We look at the positive that we battled back against their closer to tie the game." The Rays won three must-win road games in three cities over four days just to get into the division series, so they felt good about their chances of coming back against the Red Sox. Especially with AlexCobb on the mound. The right-hander beat Cleveland 4-0 in the AL wild-card game last Wednesday and has been one of the consistent pitchers in the majors since August 2012. The Red Sox were just as confident about the prospect of closing out the series. "Im sure theres an attitude they have nothing to lose and just let it all hang out," Boston manager John Farrell said. "Thats what weve been accustomed to for years against the Rays. As I mentioned before the series started, we have tremendous respect for them and we know it will be a very similar game tomorrow night." Buchholz, limited to 16 starts this season because of a neck strain that landed him on the disabled list for three months, allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings. Cobb, pitching on his 26th birthday, yielded three runs and five hits in five innings. Ellsbury scored Bostons first two runs on BenZobrists throwing error in the first and Cobbs wild pitch in the fifth. DavidOrtizs fifth-inning RBI single put the Red Sox up 3-0 against the Tampa Bay starter. The Red Sox remain confident heading into Game 4. This is the ninth time theyve won Games 1 and 2 of a post-season series, and seven of the eight previous times they finished the job. "Its still 2-1," Victorino said. "Were still in the drivers seat. We control our own destiny." Nike Air Max Thea Baratas . Atletico built a provisional three-point advantage over Barcelona before the defending champion hosts Elche on Sunday. Barcelona then visits Atletico in the following round. "We will have to wait and see if Barcelona wins tomorrow to stay leader, as it is accustomed to doing," Atletico coach Diego Simeone said. Nike Air Max 2015 Hombre Baratas . The top-ranked Czech Republic will visit Canada for a first-round tie Feb. 7-8, 2015. "This will be our first World Group tie and the team knows that no matter who the opponent, it will be a very talented team that is one of the best in the world," Canadas Fed Cup captain Sylvain Bruneau said in a release.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Third baseman KevinKouzmanoff and the Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms on a minor league contract that includes an invitation to spring training. The team announced the deal Saturday. Terms were not disclosed. Kouzmanoff hit .235 with seven homers and 33 RBIs in 73 games for Oakland and Colorado last season. Hes a career .255 hittter over six seasons that included stops in Cleveland and San Diego. Nike Air Max Thea Baratas. But after playing in England for more than a decade, Reo-Coker already recognized a key issue. He faces an adjustment as he prepares for his first Major League Soccer season. INDIANAPOLIS -- After Philadelphias latest loss gave the 76ers their longest skid in franchise history, coach Brett Brown insisted he doesnt dwell on the streak. LanceStephenson scored 25 points and the Indiana Pacers rallied from an early deficit to beat Philadelphia 99-90 on Monday night, handing the 76ers their 21st straight loss. "Its hard because of a competitive thing, but in relation to worrying about a record, we dont live in that world," Brown said. "I dont bring that to that locker room once. I dont mention it to them, I dont think about it often -- (but) you cant help but be aware of it." Philadelphia eclipsed its previous mark of 20 straight losses during the 1972-73 season, when it finished 9-73. The Sixers tied the Detroit Pistons for the sixth-longest losing streak in NBA history. The Pistons lost 21 straight bridging the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons. The Cleveland Cavaliers set the NBA record for consecutive losses with 26, in the 2010-11 season. "We move on. Were on a different path right now," Brown said. "We started this season with a plan, we took it to a whole other level to reconfirm our plan on trade deadline night." PaulGeorge had 24 points for the Pacers, who staked the Sixers to a 15-6 lead before taking the lead and pulling away. GeorgeHill scored 11 points, IanMahinmi had 10 and DavidWest grabbed 12 rebounds. ThaddeusYoung had 23 points to lead the Sixers, who havent won since Jan. 29 at Boston. EvanTurner, now with the Pacers, hit the game-winning shot in that 95-94 win by Philadelphia. Turner, traded to Indiana with LavoyAllen on Feb. 20 for DannyGranger and a draft pick, had four points and seven rebounds against his former team on Monday. HollisThompson and TonyWroten each scored 17, MichaelCarter-Williams had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and HenrySims had nine points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers, who next host Chicago on Wednesday night. Philadelphia built its 15-6 first-quarter lead by shooting 6 for 9 from the field, including 3 for 4 on 3-pointers, while the Pacers were 3 for 9 in the same stretch. "(These teams) are the ones that pose the biggest threat, because for us, weve got to get motivated," Indianas PaulGeorge said. "All these games are huge for us because every game counts." But Indiana closed the quarter on a 15-9 run to pull to 24-21. Stephenson hit both free throws to give the Pacers a 56-48 lead. Indiana led 58-50 at halftime. But the Pacers, who shot 13 for 21 in the second quarter, went cold in the third. Indiana was just 6 of 27 from the floor in the third, giving Philadelphia a chance. "It was a tough game. We just didnt have a whole lot of pop," Indianas DavidWest said. "They came out in the third quarter with more energy." Young pulled the Sixers to 62-61 on a 3-pointer, then put them ahead 63-62 on a fadeaway jumper. West hit a free throw to tie the game, but a lane violation wiped out his second attempt. Mahinmi broke the tie with two free throws with 3:39 to play in the third. Indianas lead was 67-65 when George and Hill hit consecutive 3-pointers to extend the lead to eight. Young scored to make it 73-67, but West put back a miss by Hill to take a 75-67 lead into the fourth quarter. The Sixers closed to 88-85, but Carter-Williams missed a potential tying 3-pointer with 2:15 remaining. Hill answered on the other end with a 3-pointer to give Indiana a 91-85 lead with 1:56 to play. Hill then stole Carter-Williams pass and RoyHibbert completed a three-point play at the other end for a 94-85 advantage. "We were there," Brown said. SAO PAULO -- Brazilian organizers have completed another World Cup stadium. Roshe Run Print Flower Print hardlopen schoenen fluorescerende roze dames . Yet there was little reason to celebrate Wednesday amid doubts about when or even if the remaining five venues will be ready in time for footballs showcase tournament in June. The Arena das Dunas in the northeastern city of Natal was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, who took a symbolic first kick in front of a few thousand people. The event came a day after organizers admitted there is a serious risk the southern city of Curitiba might be dropped from the tournament because of lagging stadium construction. Brazils World Cup organizing committee admitted FIFA might have to consider reshuffling the tournaments matches, which would be an embarrassment for the country and disastrous for footballs governing body as more than 1 million game tickets have already been sold. "We know we had several warnings but it seems that these warnings were not taken seriously," Jose Maria Marin, the committees president, told reporters. "Its a difficult situation." Brazil promised to deliver all 12 World Cup stadiums by the end of 2013, but five are still under construction and at least two of those will not be ready until about two months before the tournaments June 12 start. One of those two is the Itaquerao stadium in Sao Paulo, which is supposed to host the World Cups opening match. In Natal, work was being done until the last minute before the inauguration of the Arena das Dunas, a 42,000-capacity stadium hosting four matches in the World Cups opening round Mexico vs. Cameroon, Ghana vs. United States, Japan vs. Greece and Italy vs. Uruguay. The pace of stadium construction is likely to be on the agenda when Rousseff meets with FIFA President Sepp Blatter in Zurich on Thursday. The delay in building the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba is the biggest problem so far. FIFA and local organizers will make another evaluation there Feb. 18, but even if Curitiba is kept as a host city, the stadium isnt likely to be ready until a few weeks before the World Cup. "We cant believe in the worst. On the contrary, I believe that the governor, the mayor and the entrepreneurs responsible for the stadium in Curitiba will have it ready in time," Rousseff said. "I have to bet in favour of that, not against." The Itaquerao stadium in Sao Paulo is where two workers were killed late last year when a crane collapsed while hoisting a huge roofing structure. It isnt expected to be done until mid-April. Officials say the three other unfinished stadiums will be ready before then, but the timing remains unclear. Organizers were hoping to have the first match at the renovated Beira-Rio stadium in the southern city of Porto Alegre on Jan. 29, but civil defence officials monitoring construction said Wednesday there might not be enough time to get everything ready by then. The Arena Pantanal in the wetlands city of Cuiaba was listed as 90 per cent complete going into January. The Arena da Amazonia in the jungle city of Manaus, where a worker fell to his death from about 115 feet (35 metres) up in December, was about 95 per cent ready. There also have been problems at some of the stadiums already completed. The roof leaks at the stadium in the capital of Brasilia, and there are concerns about the condition of its playing field. On Wednesday, FIFA inspectors recommended officials reduce the number of matches scheduled there before the World Cup to preserve the grass. Also Wednesday, Brazilian authorities announced that the 12 host cities will have integrated command centres to provide security during the monthlong tournament. The estimated $14 billion that Brazil is spending to put on the World Cup has been one of the targets of anti-government protests that erupted last year, and several times demonstrators clashed with police trying to reach stadium sites. On Wednesday, during the inauguration ceremony for the Arena das Dunas, nearly 300 demonstrators gathered outside the stadium to protest the tournaments cost, local media reported. Globo TV said some protesters vandalized a car. Associated Press writer Marco Sibaja in Brasilia contributed to this report. He will be evaluated on a daily basis with no date scheduled for his return. Weber was hit hard by MarkFistric in Nashvilles game against Dallas Friday. He appeared fine after the game and was even able to speak to reporters. On Monday, however, Weber left practice early and the team was unsure what was ailing him. "Theres no official timetable for his return, but hes feeling better and Im hoping theres a chance for him to return Friday," head coach Barry Trotz told TSN. "But well see." Weber is Nashvilles captain and leading scorer with 29 points in 35 games, and also leads the team with a +14 rating -- they only have three players on the plus side of the ledger. new balance 574 nederland. Weber has not missed a game since March 2, 2010. Nashville recalled defenceman RyanEllis from Milwaukee (AHL) in time for Mondays game. CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Even Oscar Robertson wanted to see more of the Sean Kilpatrick show. Neil Walker Pirates Jersey . The Hall of Famer sat courtside and watched the senior guard score 26 points and get a team-high 12 rebounds on Thursday night, rallying No. 7 Cincinnati to a 63-58 victory over No. 22 Connecticut. The Bearcats (22-2, 11-0 American Athletic) got their 15th straight win with Kilpatrick finishing it off at the free throw line in the closing seconds. During a late timeout, Robertson raised his hand in a shooting motion toward Kilpatrick, who knew what he meant. Kilpatricks response? A "take-it-easy" motion. "He kept giving me the signal to shoot," Kilpatrick said. "I told him to relax." The Bearcats trailed for most of the game, their first with a No. 7 ranking that is their highest in 10 years. A crowd of 12,432 -- their biggest of the season -- watched them win. Cincinnati has won 18 straight at home, including all 16 this season. The Bearcats are off to their best start in 12 years. "Thats what weve been hoping for," forward Titus Rubles said. "Its good to see the city excited for Cincinnati basketball again. We definitely enjoyed the crowd today. It was a big factor in helping us with our energy." Justin Jackson had six of his 15 points and blocked a shot during a 13-4 run that rallied Cincinnati midway through the second half. Jermaine Sanders two free throws with 18.5 seconds left gave Cincinnati a 61-58 lead. UConns Niels Giffey missed a three-point attempt, and Kilpatrick got the rebound, was fouled and made both free throws. "The mark of great players is that they rise to the occasion," Bearcats coach Mick Cronin said. "He has the ability to rise to the occasion." Shabazz Napier scored 16 points for the Huskies (17-5, 5-4) who were playing their highest-ranked opponent this season. They are 2-2 against Top 25 teams, with wins over Florida and Memphis and losses to Louisville and Cincinnati. Two hours before tip-off, Cincinnati introduced Mike Bohn as its next athletic director. His top priority: Get the Bearcats into a better conference. Cincinnati and Connecticut tried to move to the Atlantic Coast Conference, but were rebuffed. Instead, Louisville will move from the American Athletic into the ACC next season. The game matched two of the AACs top guards. Kilpatrick leads the league at 19.4 points per game, while Napier averages 17.9 points and 6.0 rebounds. Shabazz got the better of it early. Kilpatrick, who played all 40 minutes, rallied the Bearcats at the end. "Justin Jackson and Kilpatrick took over the game," UConn coach Kevin Ollie said. "It was a heck of a performance by (Kilpatrick). We couldnt get him out of the game. They just took it to us in the second half." Napier went only 2 of 12 beyond the arc and missed a three-point attempt that could have put the Huskies ahead with 30 seconds to go. Connecticut led for all but 40 seconds in the first half with its guards darting through Cincinnatis defence for layups and assists. Ryan Boatright scored six consecutive points as UConn pulled ahead 21-15. He fell hard on his left shoulder while going for the ball and left the game grimacing. He returned a few minutes later and scored only three points the rest of the game. Napier made a driving bank shot high off the backboard, then drove under the basket and passed outside to Giffey for a wide-open three-pointer that built UConns lead to 26-18. Anotherthree by Giffey gave the Huskies a 10-point lead. The Huskies made four of their first six shots in the second half to hold the lead. Omar Calhouns baseline jumper put the Huskies ahead 42-34. Jackson then led the Bearcats on the 13-4 run. He emphatically blocked a shot to set up a fast break that culminated in Kilpatricks dunk. Jackson picked up a loose ball on the Bearcats next possession and dunked, then followed with a driving bank shot for a 47-46 lead with 7:34 left. Kilpatrick hit anotherthree that started a six-point spurt and gave Cincinnati its biggest lead, 53-49. The Bearcats stayed ahead the rest of the way. Ernie Banks Cubs Jersey . Though the 26-year-old said he was able to participate, coach Dwane Casey kept Johnson out as a precaution. Ted Williams Red Sox Jersey . -- PGA TOUR Canada member Chris Epperson shot a 9-under 63 on Friday on PGA Wests Nicklaus Tournament Course to take a four-stroke lead after the second round of the Web.TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona raced out to a big lead and did not back off, hitting the accelerator instead. No way were the Wildcats going to let their biggest rival get even a sniff of a comeback. Top-ranked Arizona raced out to a big early lead and extended it with a strong start to the second half, rolling past rival Arizona State in a 91-68 rout Thursday night. "We tried to start out the game really well and made some shots and some stops on defence, then did the same thing in the second half," said Arizona guard Nick Johnson, who led the Wildcats with 17 points. "We didnt want to give them any false hope of trying to come back or anything." There wasnt much chance the way the Wildcats were playing. Arizona (18-0, 5-0 Pac-12) dominated the Sun Devils almost from the opening tip, turning missed shots and turnovers into points at the other end while building a 21-point lead in the first half. The Wildcats didnt let up, either, stretching the lead to extend the best start in school history. Arizona put seven players in double figures, shot 56 per cent and had 21 assists on 34 field goals to beat the Sun Devils for the sixth time in seven games. Aaron Gordon had 16 points, and Kaleb Tarczewski added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats. T.J. McConnell finished with 10 points, six assists and three steals. "No doubt about it, we have a group of guys that plays with a lot of energy, a lot of effort and we are willing to share the ball," Arizona coach Sean Miller said. Arizona State (13-5, 2-3) played without second-leading scorer Jermaine Marshall and had trouble with Arizonas size all night, shooting 34 per cent. Jahii Carson had 20 points and five assists, but struggled early and had at least four shots blocked. ASU centre Jordan Bachynski battled foul trouble in the first half and wasnt much of a factor when he was in the game, finishing with three points while mmissing all three of his shots. Brian Wilson Dodgers Jersey. . Bo Barnes added 13 points for the Sun Devils, who had 18 turnovers and seven assists. "You look at the results they are posting night in and night out, it wasnt a surprise, only a confirmation," Sun Devils coach Herb Sendek said of Arizona. "They are very well balanced and their size is a factor." Arizona has gotten off to the best start in school history behind its defence The Wildcats entered the game fourth nationally in scoring at 56 points per game, seventh in field goal percentage at 37 per cent and 13th in 3-point shooting at 28 per cent. Arizona State was already going to have a tough time against the long, athletic Wildcats and it certainly didnt help that Marshall was out after injuring his groin in practice this week. Revved up by the boisterous crowd, Arizona was at its defensive best early, contesting every shot, pass and dribble. Arizona State missed 15 of its first 17 shots and Carson had nowhere to go against Arizonas pressure -- particularly McConnell -- while missing his first five shots. After a jittery offensive start, the Wildcats started hitting from everywhere, racing out to a 21-point lead while making 14 of 28 shots. The Sun Devils started to shoot a little better late in the half, but had a hard time digging out of the hole, trailing 42-28 after shooting 6 of 26. Arizona kept rolling to start the second half, hitting five of its first eight shots to stretch the lead to 22. Gordon then scored on an alley-oop, Tarczewski threw down a dunk on a no-look pass from Gabe York and McConnell dropped in a 3-pointer, flashing three fingers to the fans across from the bench after putting the Wildcats up 59-38. "Those guys are ready to play every day," said Carson, who shot 7 of 19. "They have great leadership and are No. 1 in the country for a reason. They just have so many weapons." cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '
