The Big Nog vs Big Country bout is the talk of the MMA world right now but that is not the reason for this article. Jordan Devey Jersey . My seventh week of fight ready fitness had me arguing flexibility and conditioning with a few people. The comment that got me riled up was that Heavyweights run out of gas all the time. That turned into them also not being able to do jujitsu, they arent flexible or able to move. Well Ive been working on my conditioning, and I wont be testing it in the octagon any time soon but it did have me jump to the defense of Cain Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos, and Roy Nelson, all three high level athletes and all with enough gas in the tank to get some outstanding fights on their highlight reels. It wasnt just the decision that they werent fit. Thats a product of their training practices. Lots of heavyweights have a problem pushing themselves on conditioning because they dont have partners who can last in training. What got to me was the flexibility comment. There are a lot of jujitsu experts who are small, and flexible. They make it look easy to wrap people up, and bend in strange ways. Thats not usually the case with heavyweights. However, there are people who work at changing the paradigm. Frank Mir, and Big Nog are both prime examples. Watch them move while they fight, it is impressive. To prove the flexibility issue, I posted a picture on my Instagram @fitcityjordan. Its me attempting the splits. Im actually not too far off. Im going to spend the last little bit of my training time here doing Yoga, specifically something called Joga. Its a newer form of Yoga focused at athletes. Ive done a few classes, and Im impressed at how much it focuses on an athletes need to move, and flush lactic acid post training. Im hoping the next picture I post on Instagram of me doing the splits will be right to the floor. Im 63 and right now between 218 and 220lbs. It depends on the meal the night before. Before you go judging an athlete, start giving the training some time. Get out and sign up for kickboxing. Spend a few evenings rolling on the jujitsu mats, and yes head to Yoga. I found Sandy Grewinski at Yoga Public in Winnipeg. Her coaching style and the Yoga Public facility are the best addition to my wellness and total fitness that Ive found in a long time. Go find your new best friends. They are probably Yoga people. Nicest people youll ever meet. Something to be said for trying to live stress free. Vince Wilfork Super Bowl Jersey . -- Packers cornerback TramonWilliams has been fined $26,250 for contact with an official, per NFL guidelines. Rob Gronkowski Super Bowl Jersey . - The NFLs officiating chief has cleared Broncos receiver WesWelker of any wrongdoing for his hit that knocked Patriots cornerback AqibTalib out of Sundays AFC Championship.NailYakupovs two-game exile ends Tuesday night when the Edmonton Oilers face the Penguins in Pittsburgh. Yakupov was scratched on Saturday in Toronto and despite the loss to the Maple Leafs, Oilers head coach DallasEakins rewarded his forwards by maintaining status quo Monday in Washington - which meant another night in the press box for the first overall pick in 2012. The Oilers concern with Yakupov is his play away from the puck and wanting to do everything himself. And with the message received, expect Eakins to lean on Yakupov tonight in Pittsburgh with additional ice time to get him going. In other news, the Toronto Maple Leafs continue to get calls on the availability of defenceman JakeGardiner. Sources tell The Dreger Report an additional two teams called last week to inquire about the possibility of a trade. But unless a substantial offer surfaces, Gardiner will not be traded and the Leafs insist they are not shopping him. Its believed last weeks interest was generated by the ongoing media speculation. To date, Toronto has not received an offer for Gardiner. Now the USHL provides the latest example of the frightening risks hockey players face when fighting. Dylan Chanter - a defenceman for the Dubuque Fighting Saints - was injured on Saturday when his helmet slipped off during a fight just prior to Chanter smashing his head on the ice. Warning: The attached video link of Saturdays incident is disturbing and very graphic. Chanterr was released from hospital on Saturday and has since used Twitter to announce his improving status. Jonathan Casillas Super Bowl Jersey. The USHL, its hockey operations department and USA Hockey are investigating the incident and the leagues existing fighting sanctions, while analyzing additional procedures to further reduce this type of incident. Prior to introducing a comprehensive player safety initiative in 2012 - which includes a rule to keep helmets on in all situations - sources say the USHL considered adopting a fighting rule similar to what is used in college hockey, where a fight earns a player a five-minute major penalty plus a one-game suspension. However, the USHL opted not to follow the NCAA path and instead assesses fighting majors for those who drop their gloves. USHL president and commissioner Skip Prince is quick to point out that the USHL averages one fight every two and half games. Its unlikely the USHL will drastically alter its rule book in-season, but USA Hockey is watching closely and could intervene if its viewed that this matter isnt being properly addressed. Meanwhile, a number of NHL general managers believe fighting should be banned from junior hockey, or at the very least, game misconducts should be applied to further manage the risk of significant injury...or worse. However, while open to do more to protect their players, some junior hockey executives challenge the NHL to set a new standard of fighting sanctions all development leagues might follow. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

TORONTO - Kory Sheets, who ran for 148 yards and a touchdown to lead the Saskatchewan Roughriders past the B. 12th Fan Elite Jersey .C. Lions 35-14, was named the CFLs offensive player of the week Tuesday. Sheets recorded his ninth 100-yard rushing performance of the season to tie the Riders club record. He has been named the leagues offensive player of the week three times this year. Montreal Alouettes linebacker Chip Cox is the top defensive player. Cox had six tackles, another tackle on special teams, and two sacks in a 36-5 win over Hamilton. Calgary running back Jon Cornish was named the top Canadian for the third straight week and sixth time this season. He ran for 145 yards on 19 carries in a 27-13 win over Edmonton. Cornish leads the CFL in rushing with 1,690 yards. Montreal kick-returner Bo Bowling is the top special-teams player. Bowling registered 118 yards on five punt returns in the Alouettes victory over Hamilton and also had two catches for 23 yards. Derrick Coleman Womens Jersey . -- Oakland Raiders running back MauriceJones-Drew is being sued in Florida, accused of punching a bouncer at a St. 12th Fan Jersey . -- Reginas Mark McMorris is taking home a silver medal and a fractured rib from Saturdays slopestyle event at the Winter X Games.TUCSON, Ariz. -- Aaron Gordon scored 21 points, Nick Johnson added 17 and Arizona opened its second week at No. 1 with a 69-43 rout over Southern on Thursday night. Arizona (12-0) had no trouble with the Jaguars early on, racing out to a 15-point halftime lead while playing without injured centre Kaleb Tarczewski. The second half wasnt quite as smooth and the Wildcats went 22 of 37 on free throws, but it was good enough to get them to 12-0 for the second straight season. Brandon Ashley had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Arizona. Southern (3-8) fought back after a miserable first half, but fell in too deep of a hole to make a game of it. Malcolm Miller and Calvin Godfrey had 11 points each for the Jaguars. Arizona moved to the top of The Associated Press poll last week for the first time since 2003 and immediately faced two difficult tests. The Wildcats passed both, racing past New Mexico State after stumbling early against the Aggies quirky defences, then rallying from an 11-point deficit to beat Michigan on the road for what may be their biggest win of an already impressive season. Arizonas task over its next two games -- the Wildcats face Northern Arizona on Monday -- was to avoid complacency and looking ahead to the holiday break and the Pac-12 season. Southern didnt figure to pose much of a threat to the long, athletic Wildcats. The Jaguars nearly pulled off a monumental upset in the first round of last years NCAA tournament, leading No. 1 Gonzaga late before losing to the Zags. Southern is a much different teeam this year after losing four seniors and with Godfrey ailing because of an elbow injury. Doug Baldwin Elite Jersey. It went about as expected early. Even without Tarczewski, who sprained his ankle against Michigan on Saturday, Arizona dominated Southern from the start, building a 12-point by the midpoint of the first half. The Wildcats kept rolling behind the wheeling and dealing of T.J. McConnell (five assists) and inside game of Gordon, who had eight of his 10 first-half points on layups or dunks. Southern tried to work inside-out on offence, without much luck; Arizona had an 18-2 advantage in the paint in the first half. The Jaguars couldnt seem to hit much from anywhere, shooting 7 of 24, including 3 of 11 from the 3-point arc, in the opening 20 minutes. The Wildcats, on the other hand, had little trouble scoring, hitting 13 of 24 shots from the floor. Had they been a little better without pressure -- 6 of 16 on free throws -- the lead would have been even more than 34-19 at halftime. Southern was better offensively to open the second half and chipped the lead down to 10. The Jaguars had no answer for Gordon. The freshman phenom used his long arms to reach over defenders for offensive rebounds and his strength to bull past them for putbacks. Gordon added a 3-pointer from the wing and hit three straight free throws after going 0 for 4 in the first half, drawing cheers from the home fans. That turned out to be the only excitement in the second half as Arizona prevented the Jaguars from getting any closer. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

Former Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie wrote an interesting blog the other day. jerseys from china . Its premise was that, in Rennies opinion, there is not enough private enterprise (in the form of private soccer academies) in Canadian youth soccer for our country to develop its large pool of players. Rennie suggested that private academies are more inclined to hire qualified coaches and are more determined to deliver quality development programs for players, since those private academies will not survive unless they offer quality programs. While this may be true to a certain extent, the proliferation of private academies across the country is not a cure-all for our struggles in player development. There are a number of significant issues that are impeding the development of soccer in Canada. The governance structure of Canadian soccer inhibits change For years, the development of the game in Canada was hampered by a parochial governance structure. The presidents of each provincial soccer association sat on the CSA board of directors, where they lobbied for the interests of their own provincial associations, rather than for what the country, as a whole, required. That has changed under the CSAs new governance model, where a blend of elected and appointed directors now govern the game effectively, by setting policy and direction for the game and empowering CSA staff to execute the Associations strategic objectives. Unfortunately, that governance model has not yet trickled down to the provincial associations. At the provincial and district levels, the game is still facing the same parochial challenges that have restricted soccer development for decades. Provincial boards of directors are largely comprised of district presidents, who are elected by their member clubs. Those district presidents are faced with an inherent conflict of loyalty: Do they do what is in the best interests of the game at the provincial (and by extension, the national) level, or do they do what is in the best interests of the clubs in their own district? Far too often, district loyalties trump the greater good. The result is a fractured, broken governance structure, where change rarely takes place - and when it does, it happens at a glacial pace. Despite the obvious flaws in our governance structure, there are a great many people fighting for change across the country. Standards-based leagues - the starting point for an improved player development pathway - are being introduced across Canada. While these leagues are still in their infancy, I believe that they will create a much better environment for player development than what is currently in place. The next step - and this goes back to Martin Rennies blog - is for the barriers to private enterprise to be removed. Until such time as our standards-based leagues are open to both not-for-profit community clubs and private academies, we will always fall short of our developmental potential. Without a Technical Development Plan, we will continue to go in circles From late 2010 until the summer of 2012, I served as the Technical Director of the Oakville Soccer Club, Canadas largest not-for-profit community soccer club. My first task when hired was to create the clubs technical development plan. This document is ingrained within the clubs five-year strategic plan, and serves as the clubs "technical roadmap". It is a guide to help the club achieve its technical objectives, and is a reference for every major technical decision that the club makes. When the technical leadership changes, as it did when I joined TSN, the club does not fall into disarray because it knows what its technical objectives are and how it has planned to achieve them. The next technical director simply picks up where the previous one left off. The technical development plan also provides the clubs members (parents) with a clear summary of what the club is doing - everything from lobbying for the optimal player development structure in Ontario to investing in coach education within the club. The single biggest criticism that can be levied against the Canadian Soccer Association is that it does not have (and in my opinion, has never had) a technical development plan. That a not-for-profit community club like Oakville has a publicly available plan and the CSA does not is baffling. The CSAs technical development plan needs to be prominently displayed on the CSAs website for every coach, parent and player in Canada to read. It should clearly define the Associations technical objectives and give timeframes for achieving those objectives. Ingrained within the plan should be the CSAs national curriculum, a template for player, coach and referee development in Canada. Without a national curriculum, coaches across the country are simply left to make things up as they go along and given the poor job that we have collectively done in developing the nearly 850,000 soccer players in our country, it is fair to say that this approach is not working. The plan should contain the coach education pathway, and give an overview of how coach education is going to improve in Canada. The introduction of an assessment-based licensing course for coaching young players - a "Youth Licence" - is just one example of improvements to coach education in Canada that should be in the works. Without a plan, how are we to know where we are going? And - equally as important - how are we to judge if those in charge are taking us in the right direction? Coach education An important component of the technical development plan must be coach education. "You cant teach an old dog new tricks," is what many critics say. And while this is true to a certain extent - many youth coaches who have been "in the system" for a long time dont want to learn or change their bad habits, and will continue to place winning ahead of player development - there are many coaches across the country who are hungry to learn about progressive, innovative development ideas. These are the coaches upon whom we should focus our efforts. Until the introduction of standards-based leagues, all you needed to coach the best young players in Canada was a heartbeat. You only needed to acquire an attendance-based coaching certificate (where showing up for the course meant you effectively passed) to coach at the highest level of youth soccer in Canada. That simply isnt acceptable if we are to improve our ability to develop young players. Coach education in Canada is largely user-pay, whereby the coach funds the cost of their own education. We must make coach education as accessible as possible to as many coaches as possible, by reducing or eliminating the cost of these courses. Many clubs and organizations are contributing financially towards the education of their coaches, but the onus is on the CSA to restructure and reinvest in coach education across the country, as it is one of our key technical priorities. Parent education There are many excellent private soccer academies across the country but there are also many excellent not-for-profit community soccer clubs, as well. To suggest that one business model contains a better development program than the other is simply misleading. Unfortunately, the vast majority of parents cannot identify a superior player development program, because most of them have never been exposed to one. All they have been exposed to is the win-at-all-costs approach that permeates youth sports in our country. Yet parents are expected to choose a soccer program for their child, despite not knowing what it is they should be looking for. At the very least, parents should look for an organization that utilizes qualified, age-appropriate coaches. This doesnt mean that the coaches need to be full-time, salaried coaches, but it does mean that the coaches should have - at minimum - the coaching qualifications required to teach your child. This applies especially to not-for-profit community soccer clubs, who are often forced to rely on unqualified parent coaches due to the volume of players registered at the club. If a child shows promise and wishes to play competitively, parents should look for an organization that employs nationally licensed coaches. While I am the first to admit that a coaching license does not make one an excellent coach, I would argue that it does prove that a coach has demonstrated the knowledge to acquire the license, as well as a hunger for learning. In terms of choosing a soccer organization, bigger is not always better, nor is your cheapest option necessarily your best option. While some large not-for-profit community clubs have excellent development programs, managing those programs is not easy. Does the club have adequate full or part-time technical staff to meet the needs of the players? Does the club invest in coach education? Are the coaches required to continue their coach education, and does the club pick up the cost of this education? The same questions can, and should, be asked of private academies. Parents should consider the philosophy of the organization they choose. Do they promote a player-centric approach to development? By this I mean, will they move your child to the appropriate competitive level if their development merits such a move? Or do they lock your child into a "team" for an entire year, regardless of how well he or she develops over the course of that year? There are benefits and drawbacks to choosing either a not-for-profit community club or a private academy, so it is important for parents to ask questions and solicit feedback from others who have had experience with the organizations in question. Educating parents about player development is a massive obstacle to the development of the game in Canada - it is arguably our biggest hurdle. But it can be done. It simply requires time, patience and a consistent message. During my time at the Oakville Soccer Club, I experienced the obstacle of parent education first-hand. Each and every parent whose path I crossed wanted one thing and one thing only - the very best for their child. My challenge was to convince them that I, too, had their childs best interests at heart. When presented with a new method of developing young soccer players, many parents pushed back. Change is difficult for many people to accept, especially when they lack the background, education and experience within the game to understand the reasons why changes are being made. "Why should our child play 5v5? Isnt soccer supposed to be 11v11?" "When are you going to teach my kid to play a position?" "This isnt real soccer!" These are all legitimate questions from parents. They just require answers, which come through putting in the time to explain the teaching methods being used, through having the patience to understand the parents point of view and through delivering a consistent message and rationale. Eventually, parents begin to understand that a focus on individual skill development and a small-sided games approach to player development is the right way for their children to learn the game of soccer. The only evidence they need to see is the smiles on the faces of their children, who enjoy the game much more because they learn the skills they need to be successful. There are many more challenges that we must overcome if we are to put Canada on the right path to success as a soccer-playing nation. But by understanding the issues that are holding us back, we can begin to work towards removing these barriers so that the next generation has a better chance of fulfilling their soccer dreams. wholesale nfl jerseys . Returning to the stadium where Roberto Mancinis City career ended in an FA Cup final loss last May, further Wembley misery appeared to be beckoning when Fabio Borini put Premier League struggler Sunderland in front after 10 minutes. Instead, City, which has now scored 121 goals this season, remains on course for an improbable quadruple that would require all the resolve displayed in the second half to complete. After a flat first-half performance, the recovery began after Toure nonchalantly curled into the net from 30 yards (meters) in the 55th minute, with Samir Nasri volleying home Citys second inside two minutes. City fans were already celebrating just their third trophy in three years -- following a 35-year title drought -- when Jesus Navas completed a counterattack to add the third in the 90th minute. "To win the first trophy I think is important for us all ... because at an important club you must win trophies," said Pellegrini, the Chilean who spent a decade in charge of Spanish clubs without a winners medal. "In the second half we changed it and scored two beautiful goals and we had the patience to win." City is in the Premier League title hunt and has reached the FA Cup quarterfinals, but must overturn a 2-0 deficit against Barcelona to advance in the Champions League from the round-of-16 stage. "I hope it will bring confidence for us to win the other trophies," Nasri said. After more than $1.5 billion of Abu Dhabi investment in less than six years, City has now won each of the domestic trophies in three years, following the 2011 FA Cup and 2012 Premier League title produced by Mancini. But, in a showpiece game seen live in around 180 countries, City was unpicked after just 10 minutes by a team fighting relegation when slack defending allowed Sunderland to pounce. Fernandinho was dispossesssed next to the Sunderland penalty area, allowing Seb Larsson to launch a counterattack before passing to Adam Johnson on the right wing. cheap jerseys. . Johnson then sent the ball high down the flank to Borini, who easily slipped beyond captain Vincent Kompany before scoring low past Costel Pantilimon. In response, there was little threat from a team which is six points off the top of the standings but with two games in hand. Sergio Aguero, back after five games out with a hamstring injury, launched himself down the right flank midway through the first half. But after crossing to Nasri, the France midfielders sight of goal was partially obscured by Lee Cattermole and it was a trouble-free save for Vito Mannone. Making amends for his earlier slackness, a well-timed tackle by Kompany cut out Borinis run on goal -- denying Sunderland a chance to double its lead before halftime. "Our first half, there was memories of Wigan," Nasri said, referring to last years FA Cup final loss. "We said that we need to stay calm, to remain focused and play our football." City did just that, and two exceptional moments swung the game in Citys favour. The curling shot from Toure looped over Mannone into the corner of the net, giving the defensive midfielder a 17th goal of the season. And before Sunderland could regroup there was an equally fine finish from Nasri. From Pantilimons quick goal kick, Aguero sent the ball to Aleksandar Kolarov, who crossed for Nasri to net with a first-time volley. "Theyve scored a great goal to get back into it, hes stuck it in the top corner from 30 yards out and then weve lost a bit of organization and its cost us a second goal," Sunderland captain John OShea said. There was no way back for Sunderland, and Fernandinho seized possession to allow City to mount a late surge forward that ended with Toure setting up Navas to beat Mannone with a close-range finish. "It wasnt to be," Sunderland manager Gus Poyet said. "But we tried ... and now we want to stay in the Premier League." cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Marcus Paige and his North Carolina teammates have endured so many wild swings -- big wins, surprising losses, NCAA drama -- that no one can blame their Hall of Fame coach for wondering whats next. And yet, a month after sitting at 0-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Tar Heels are surging after a rousing comeback against their fiercest rival that had their fans rushing to midcourt to celebrate when it was over. Paige scored all 13 of his points in the second half, including two big baskets in the final 2 1/2 minutes, to help UNC beat No. 5 Duke 74-66 on Thursday night for their eighth straight win. Senior Leslie McDonald added a season-high 21 points for the Tar Heels (19-7, 9-4 ACC), who rallied from 11 points down in the second half to beat the Blue Devils (21-6, 10-4) in a rivalry game postponed more than a week by a winter storm. It was by far North Carolinas most impressive win during its run. Before Thursday, most had come against teams standing sixth or lower in the ACC standings. "Im not going to say were a finished product because weve got games left," Paige said, "but man, were playing really well right now and were winning games in a lot of different ways." It marked UNCs third win against a top-five team this season, along then-No. 1 Michigan State and then-No. 3 Louisville. Throw in then-No. 11 Kentucky in December, and the Tar Heels have beaten the top four teams from The Associated Press preseason Top 25. Not bad for a team that never had top player P.J. Hairston due to NCAA violations for improper benefits. "It was a bunch of guys that fought really hard," coach Roy Williams said, "and I couldnt be prouder of my team than I am right now." After filling the entire court after the horn, thousands of fans mobbed Franklin Street on the north end of campus to continue a celebration that came eight days later than they had hoped due to last weeks winter storm. The storm brought enough snow and ice to paralyze area roads and kept Dukes bus from even making it to Durham to pick up the team for the 11-mile drive to the Smith Center in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels made it worth the wait for their fans by being tough enough to wrestle control from the Blue Devils. They shot 50 per cent from the field after halftime and even made theeir last 10 free throws after a disastrous start at the line. cheap nfl jerseys. . Jabari Parker and Quinn Cook both scored 17 points for Duke, which led 51-40 with about 15 minutes left before going ice cold from the field. The Blue Devils missed 13 straight shots and went scoreless for 6 minutes at one point, helping the Tar Heels climb back in it by mixing a 1-3-1 zone with man defence. "They would just keep switching," Cook said. "Wed come down, and we wouldnt know what theyd be in. They kept us on our toes with their defence." Duke shot 36 per cent (11 for 31) after halftime and made 5 of 22 3-pointers for the game, Coach Mike Krzyzewski said he thought his team "played young" in the second half. "We looked tired or we didnt have life," Krzyzewski said. "And no matter what we did in a timeout, we just didnt have that spark -- the anger, the emotion, the thing you have to have to match what their crowd, their team is doing. You have to try to counter that. And I just felt we were, we didnt have the life that you needed to have." Paige provided plenty of that fight for the Tar Heels. After being hounded by Duke defenders Cook and Rasheed Sulaimon through his scoreless first half, he scored nine points in the final 5 1/2 minutes starting with his only 3-pointer of the night. McDonald hit the go-ahead jumper to make it 62-60 with 3:54 left, capping his own strong performance after two straight 1-for-8 shooting performances. Paige followed with a stepback jumper over Rodney Hood with 2:11 left, then answered Parkers free throws by driving for a scooping layup through the heart of Dukes defence. After Sulaimon missed a 3 on the ensuing possession, freshman Nate Britt followed with two free throws that pushed the lead to 68-62 with 46.2 seconds left and soon had the rowdy home crowd inching closer to the court. It marked the 11th time Paige has scored in double figures in the second half this season after scoring four or fewer in the first. The postponement created a four-games-in-eight-days stretch for both teams, though its particularly challenging for Duke with No. 1 Syracuse visiting Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday night in a rematch of the overtime classic won by the Orange earlier this month. TAMPA, Fla. Morris Claiborne Jerseys . -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed veteran free agent receiver DerekHagan. The eighth-year pro has appeared in 83 games, mostly as a reserve, during his NFL career. He has 129 career receptions for 1,480 yards and six touchdowns with the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders. Hagan had 20 catches for 259 yards for the Raiders last season. To make room on the roster Thursday, the Bucs waived rookie receiver Jheranie Boyd. Bill Bates . The Italian came from behind to overtake Jarlinson Pantano in the final 50 metres and edge out Dario Cataldo on the line after a climb to the sanctuary of Oropa, the scene of Marco Pantanis memorable victory in 1999. The Scotsman was dismissed only five days after being told by the club he would remain in charge for the "foreseeable future.LOS ANGELES, Calif. - With Knicks President Phil Jackson watching from a luxury suite high above the court, his new teams teetering playoff hopes got a big shove from his old teams incredible offensive show. XavierHenry scored 22 points, NickYoung hit five 3-pointers while scoring 20 points, and the Los Angeles Lakers set a franchise record with 51 points in the third quarter of their 127-96 victory over New York on Tuesday night. Although the Lakers have 16 NBA championships and a luminous list of former superstars, those teams never had a quarter to compare to the 12 magical minutes played after halftime by Los Angeles current patchwork roster. And no Knicks defence had ever given up 51 points in a quarter until this team did it in a key game for its post-season chase. New York dropped three games behind Atlanta for the eighth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. "We hit shots all over the place," Lakers coach Mike DAntoni said. "Its infectious. When you start taking good shots, they start going in, and even the hard shots start going in." Indeed, the Lakers hit 19 of their 26 shots with six 3-pointers, stretching an eight-point halftime lead to 30. Nine players contributed a field goal to the spree, led by nine points from ChrisKaman in his first game action in March. "It feels good, but it only lasts one night," said Henry, who played exceptionally well with a torn ligament in his shooting wrist. "Weve just got to be encouraged for the rest of the season from it." KentBazemore scored 18 points as the Lakers won consecutive games for the first time in more than three weeks with a season-high 82 points from their reserves, including Henry and Young. JodieMeeks had four 3-pointers as Los Angeles finished one 3-pointer shy of the single-game club record during the Lakers highest-scoring game of the season. Five players hit multiple 3-pointers, including three apiece for Henry and rookie RyanKelly. CarmeloAnthony scored 29 points for the Knicks, who have lost two straight after an eight-game winning streak. TimHardaway Jr. scored 17 points and Amare Stoudemire had 16 in the Knicks seventh straight road loss to tthe Lakers since 2007.Anthony Spencer Jerseys. "At the end of the day, its just individual pride," said J.R.Smith, who had 12 points. "You have to have pride in guarding your man, guarding the ball, and we just didnt have that the last three quarters." The Knicks are assured of a losing season with their 42nd loss, and the Hawks have two games in hand in the playoff race. Those high stakes and Jacksons looming presence werent enough to spur New York to a competent defensive performance. "I thought we came out ready to play," New York coach Mike Woodson said. "I mean, we held them to 14 points in the first quarter, and then that second and third quarter, all hell broke loose. We just didnt have any answer for them from a defensive standpoint. I thought the plan was perfect starting the game, and when they went to their bench, they came out blazing and we just couldnt control them." Jacksons fiancee, Lakers executive Jeanie Buss, watched from the second row. The 11-time NBA champion coach arrived late at the building where he won five titles with the Lakers, who declined to re-hire him early last season, infuriating much of their fan base. With PauGasol sidelined by vertigo, Kaman had 13 points and nine rebounds as the Lakers starting centre. SteveNash also sat out for the 17th time in the Lakers last 18 games. The Lakers missed 13 of their 18 shots in a 14-point first quarter, but rolled off a 22-4 run in 5 1/2 minutes to open the second. Meeks and JordanHill then expanded the Lakers lead with a 12-0 run early in the third before the Lakers really got rolling. NOTES: Young converted a four-point play in the third quarter. He has six of the Lakers nine four-point plays this season, both franchise records. ... Gasol will be re-examined Wednesday before the Lakers determine whether he will travel with them to Milwaukee and Minnesota this week. ... MettaWorldPeace, the former Knicks and Lakers forward, attended the game. New York waived the former Ron Artest on Feb. 24. He got a rousing ovation from the Staples Center crowd when he appeared on the scoreboard in the first half, and he sat in Jacksons box during the second half. cheap jerseyscheap jerseys from china ' ' '

LOS ANGELES -- SteveMason posted his second shutout in three games with 35 saves and WayneSimmonds scored his 100th NHL goal, leading the Philadelphia Flyers to a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Greg Toler Elite Jersey . It was the 22nd career shutout and third this season for Mason, who stopped 33 shots in a 5-0 win against Detroit last Tuesday after getting pulled by coach CraigBerube in two of his previous three starts. Mason got a break with less than 3 1/2 minutes left, when JustinWilliams tried a wraparound and hit the left post. ClaudeGiroux added his 17th goal on a power play with 1:58 left, converting a cross-ice pass at the left of the crease from ScottHartnell while MattGreene was serving an interference penalty. The Flyers have scored a power-play goal in six straight games. The Kings have scored fewer than three goals in 16 of 20 games since their 25-8-4 start, and are 5-13-2 during that stretch with five shutout losses. They have only three goals in their past six games combined, all of them by AnzeKopitar. The Flyers had managed only five shots on net before Simmonds got his 18th goal at 7:48 of the first period. JonathanQuick, who faced only 13 shots, overplayed VincentLecavalier at the right of the crease along with Kings defenceman JakeMuzzin following a turnover by the Kings in their zone, and Simmonds slammed the puck into a wide-open net. The Kings RobynRegehr played in his 1,000th NHL regular-season game, becoming the 98th defenceman in NHL history to reach that plateau, and the club marked the occasion with a pregame ceremony. Regehrs first game was Oct. 28, 1999, with the Calgary Flames at Ottawa. Among those taking part in Saturdays ceremony were former Calgary teammate CraigConroy and Regehrs grandmother, who wore a Flames jersey with his old No. 28. It was the first meeting between the Kings and Flyers since Oct. 15, 2011, when Los Angeles won 3-2. Saturday also was a reunion for Kings centre JeffCarter, whom the Flyers traded to Columbus on June 23, 2011 -- the same day they dealt Richards to Los Angeles. Eight months later, the Kings acquired Richards by sending JackJohnson to the Blue Jackets. Carter and Richards led Los Angeles to its first Stanley Cup title in 2012, two years after helping the Flyers get to the finals. NOTES: Richards has one goal in his past 32 games, and that one came on the power play. Carter has no goals in his past six games, following a four-game goal streak. ... BIRMINGHAM, England -- Kimiko Date-Krumm, the 43-year-old Japanese who is the tours oldest player, halted Daniela Hantuchovas title defence on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the Aegon Classic, a Wimbledon warmup event. It was 18 years ago that Date-Krumm reached a Wimbledon semifinal. She proved an enduring grass-court threat by shortening the rallies, making her first serve count, and advancing at unexpected moments. The most crucial phase of her startling 6-4, 6-0 success was the 10th game, in which Hantuchova made a push to recoup the early loss of a service game. The seventh-seeded Slovak briefly re-found the ground-stroking rhythm which Date-Krumm took away, and earned one break back point for 5-5. But once that was denied her - Date-Krumm moved sharply forward and put away a smash - Hantuchovas standard fell rather limply. Not even a dispute with the umpire about a line decision got her competitive adrenaline flowing. Date-Krumms triumph followed a two-hour encounter and a lengthy doubles the previous day, and it was suggested thhat she must surely feel tired. Dwayne Allen Elite Jersey. "I do, of course," she said. "When I woke up my back was so tired, but I tried to move, and do some stretching. My body is different from when I reached the Wimbledon semifinal, and so is my game - but I enjoy it more." She next plays not the second-seeded Samantha Stosur, but her Australian compatriot Casey Dellacqua, whose 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over the former U.S. Open champion was the third in three meetings between them. Later Thursday, Aleksandra Woznaik of Blainville, Que., fell 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 to fourth seed Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium. The departure of these seeded stalwarts increased a feeling that Sloane Stephens, the second youngest player in the top 20, might take a significant step this week. The 21-year-old Stephens has never reached a WTA Tour final but her 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-1 win over Alison Riske, a fellow American who has reached two semifinals here, carried her within two wins of achieving that. The third-seeded Stephens next plays Zhang Shuai of China. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Henry Melton Jerseys . -- The Sacramento Kings and guard JimmerFredette have completed a buyout of his contract, clearing the way for the former BYU sensation to become a free agent. The Kings announced the agreement Thursday. Fredette was drafted 10th overall in 2011 after dazzling at BYU, where he won The Associated Press player of the year award after leading the nation in scoring at 28.5 points per game. But "Jimmermania" never took shape in Sacramento like the Kings had hoped, and the franchises instability didnt help his cause. The sides began talking about a contract buyout after the Kings couldnt find any suitable takers before last weeks trade deadline. Fredette is averaging 5.9 points and 11.3 minutes this season. Hes shooting 47.5 per cent from the floor and 49.3 per cent from 3-point range. Bob Lilly . - Holden Cook and Kyle Hope combined for seven points as the Owen Sound Attack downed the visiting Barrie Colts 5-1 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action. Troy Aikman . -- LaMarcusAldridge knew when it was his time.(SportsNetwork.com) - The storied rivalry between the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks will add a new chapter Sunday afternoon when the two teams meet for Game 7 of this Western Conferencefirst round seriesat AT&T Center. For the second time in the TimDuncan/DirkNowitzki era, these two perennial titans will clash in a Game 7. In the second round of the 2006 Western Conference playoffs, Dallas prevailed in the critical final game. Since Nowitzki turned the Mavericks into a title contender, they are 4-0 in Game 7s. Duncans Spurs have won four titles under his stewardship and his San Antonio team is 2-2 in Game 7s. This series finale will be in San Antonio, which owned the best record in the NBA this season. "You play the whole season to have a Game 7 at home," Spurs guard TonyParker said. If the Mavs, who won Game 2 in San Antonio, prevail, it will mark the sixth time a No. 8 seed has bested a No. 1 seed. It will also be the second time the dubious distinction happened to the Spurs, who fell in round one three years ago to the Memphis Grizzlies. Game 7 is necessary because the Mavericks defended their home court in Game 6 Friday night. MontaEllis led a fourth-quarter surge and finished with 27 points Friday as Dallas forced a winner-take-all Game 7 in San Antonio with a hard-fought 113-111 victory. Ellis scored 12 of his 29 points in crunch time, but nearly wiped it all away when he threw an ill-advised pass out of bounds with 1.3 seconds rremaining to give the Spurs one final look. Anthony Hitchens Jersey Dallas Cowboys. PattyMills off-balanced shot at the buzzer was well short and came after the clock struck zero. "My teammates just told me to be aggressive," Ellis said. "My team just believed in me, and I just had to go out there and respond." Nowitzki chimed in with 22 points and Dallas deep supporting cast came up with big plays down the stretch, notably former Spur DeJuanBlair. Parker netted 13 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Spurs, who led 81-76 entering the fourth and appeared in control before the Mavs rattled off nine straight points midway through the frame. Ellis hit a go-ahead 3-pointer during the run and Blair, who was suspended for Game 5 after kicking TiagoSplitter in the head the previous game, capped it with a three-point play for a 97-92 Mavericks lead with 4:25 to play. After some sensational play from Parker, the margin was one. Dallas VinceCarter made it a three-point game with two free throws, and Blair picked off a Parker pass intended for Duncan under the basket, forcing the Spurs to foul the rest of the way. Dallas made 5-of-8 free throws and hung on despite Ellis head-scratching turnover in the closing seconds. The winner will meet the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. If its San Antonio, Game 1 of the conferencessecond roundwill be in Alamo City, but if Dallas prevails in Game 7, the series opener of the second round will be in Portland. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

CHICAGO -- The Washington Wizards are winning more on the road than they are at home. Davante Adams Womens Jersey . They cant quite pinpoint why. JohnWall and Nene had 19 points apiece, TrevorAriza scored 16 and the Wizards beat the Chicago Bulls 102-88 on Monday night. "We just play more freely," MarcinGortat said. "We can focus in the hotel. In the locker room, were just sitting in one little room and trying to get ready for the game. I dont know, at home theres just too many rooms, too many places where you can go. Too many places where you can dance and sing." The Wizards led by 13 early in the fourth and hung on down the stretch after a 12-point lead was cut to five, snapping the Bulls five-game win streak. Nene scored eight points in the final period after getting the start, and BradleyBeal came on strong down the stretch to finish with 13. He hit a jumper and 3-pointer during a nine-point run that bumped Washingtons lead to 96-82 with about 3 minutes left. Wall hit two jumpers during that spurt and had seven assists in the game. Ariza hit a trio of 3-pointers and the Wizards shot 52 per cent to come away with the win after dropping five of seven. Theyre 10-10 on the road and 7-9 at home, where theyll play Miami on Wednesday. "Its kind of hurting us that we dont play as a team at home," Wall said. "We dont come out with a sense of urgency and we get down early." But in this game it was exactly the opposite. The Wizards never trailed. They led by as many as 15 in the second quarter and withstood several pushes by the Bulls in the second half. "Everybody probably thought they were tanking and they were going to try to redo their team," Wall said. "Theyre still one of the best defensive teams in the league." CarlosBoozer scored 19 for Chicago and JoakimNoah grabbed 16 rebounds. But with a chance to reach .500 for the first time since November, the Bulls committed 18 turnovers. They also lost for the first time since trading LuolDeng to Cleveland last week, after winning three without him. "Games like this humble you," TajGibson said. "Right when youre feeling too good about yourself, youre feeling invincible, a team comes in there and smacks you, wakes you up to reality." Washington had no trouble getting inside in the early going and shot 59 per cent while building a 56-43 halftime lead. The Bulls jumped right back into it to start the third quarter, tightening their defence while scoring the first eight points. Boozer capped it with a finger roll after Beal missed an easy layup, making it a five-point game. The Bulls were within four when TrevorBooker scored and Ariza and MartellWebster hit consecutive 3-pointers to push Washingtons lead back to double digits at 73-61 with 2:49 left in the third. For Chicago, it was a letdown after a promising stretch. Coach Tom Thibodeau didnt "think we had an edge tonight." That was clear right from the start, with the Wizards opening the game on an 8-0 run that Gortat punctuated with a hard, running dunk on Boozer. They were up 36-21 early in the second after back-to-back jumpers by Beal, and they answered every time the Bulls threatened in the second half. "We kept saying well work our way out of it," Thibodeau said. "Well, you cant keep saying, youve got to do it. Ive got to make sure that were ready." NOTES: Chicago star DerrickRose is off crutches and could start travelling with the team in the coming weeks. TORONTO -- Toronto Blue Jays slugger JoseBautista has defended his failed attempt to steal third Friday night, saying he was just trying to get something going. Brett Favre Elite Jersey . With the Jays trailing Boston 5-0 with one out in the fourth inning, Bautista doubled. But after EdwinEncarnacion walked, Bautista was caught trying to steal third. DionerNavarro then popped up to end the Toronto threat. The Red Sox went on to win 8-1, with Boston starter Jake Peavey calling the failed Bautista steal "a shot in the arm for us." Asked what Bautista was thinking by trying to take third, Toronto manager John Gibbons replied: "Ive got no idea. Its not smart winning baseball. Im sure he wont do it again." Bautistas explanation Saturday was that he was saw an opportunity to improve his teams position. "I thought it was a great chance to get two guys in scoring position, even though we were down 5-0," he said. "Obviously, the only thing I regret is that I didnt make it. "But the pitcher was being slow to the plate. I thought I had a pretty good idea that the pitch was going to be a breaking ball, and I also know that the catchers not the best catch-and-throw catcher in the league. Maybe my lead wasnt that big. Maybe I didnt get off to a great running start. But I thought it was a great opportunity for us to get two runners in scoring position with less than two outs. Sometimes you take chances and it doesnt work out, and thats part of the game. "The only way you can make a mistake is if youre out there on the bases. It just didnt work out for us last night." Bautista clearly hoped Encarnacion might follow his lead on the bases, but said he did not have a chance to flash his teammate a sign. Mike Neal Womens Jersey . LUCIE, Fla. Paul Hornung Jersey . David Griffin was promoted from interim GM on Monday by owner Dan Gilbert. He says Irving was not consulted on Browns future and any insinuation that he pushed to have him fired is "patently false.TORONTO Ten years into the NHL career of JoffreyLupul and it would appear as though a ceiling has not been reached. Instead, at the ripe old age of 30, his performance would suggest that he is only getting better with age. Lupul has already scored five times this season, giving him 16 goals in 19 regular season games dating back to the 2013 campaign. His career, once legitimately in doubt because of injuries, has only climbed higher in Toronto. Through 116 games as a Leaf, he has scored 50 goals and 111 points, numbers that quash anything he had accomplished in previous stops with the Ducks, Oilers, and Flyers. So has the seventh overall pick in the 2002 draft reached his ceiling? "No, no, never," he told the Leaf Report, following practice on a quiet holiday Monday. For one, Lupul says, his dedication to the craft has improved substantially with time. Landing in the league as a 19-year-old in Anaheim, "you just have this feeling you made it to the NHL and now youre here and thats kind of where you stop practicing for some reason. Thats one thing Ive figured out, that even as an old guy on this team you can still work on your skills and get better." His back-hand, for example, had once been a source of weakness; he had trouble both making and receiving passes. But with due diligence and attention to detail as far as improvement, that subtle aspect has improved to the point that he now has supreme confidence in it. "Sometimes I look back to when I was younger and just think Man, if I wouldve worked a little harder on this or this or had [skating consultant] Barb Underhill or had the Rapid Shot machine. If I wouldve done stuff like this when I was younger how much better would I be now? Maybe not at all, maybe a bit, you never know." Lupul was forced to confront the state of his career when lingering back injuries nearly put an end to it four years ago. He realized at that precarious stage that his dedication to the game would have to rise to a "new level". He would practice differently, train differently, scrutinize video differently, do everything with greater diligence and attention, all of this with a new team in Toronto."When I first came back after the injury I wasnt sure, to be honest, if I was going to be able to do it at the NHL level anymore," said Lupul, who missed 80 games with the Ducks following multiple back surgeries. "It was a long time off and obviously a pretty devastating injury so I didnt know." Upon his return, Lupul "wanted to see how good of a player I could be in this league because I didnt really know. I knew I could be a solid second line player, but I wanted to see if I could take that jump. A lot of it came because of getting traded here." Made a Leaf in Feb. 2011, he quickly got the opportunity to take that jump. Short on wingers of his size and caliber, then-head coach Ron Wilson asked Lupul if he could play the left side, running shotgun with PhilKessel on the top line. Mike Daniels Elite Jersey. "It was an easy decision," Lupul recalled with a laugh. "Do you want to play with Phil? Sure." The results were career-changing. Thrust into the spotlight of Toronto in a marquee position, Lupul would score nine goals and 18 points alongside Kessel in 28 games, returning the following season with 25 goals and a career-high 67 points in 66 games. He was a staple amongst the league leaders in scoring before a shoulder injury ended his season. "And then I realized that I could be a top-level player in this league," he said. Injuries have remained the only hurdle to Lupul entrenching himself in that conversation; he missed all but 16 games last season because of a fractured right forearm and subsequent concussion. His role, though critical to the Leafs attack, has also shifted. He no longer runs on the top unit alongside Kessel 24-year-old JamesvanRiemsdyk manning such a spot nor on the first power-play unit. Instead, Randy Carlyle has aligned him with NazemKadri, hoping the two can connect for bursts of offence, thus offering greater balance throughout the lineup. Lupul has additionally put his own best interests to the side in the interim, back to playing right wing with DavidClarkson suspended and Nik Kulemin hurt. "Obviously I prefer left, I think Im a better player on the left, but we have two right-wingers down right now so its important that someone fills that role and its something I take pride to be versatile and do different things." And though his minutes have dipped, from a career-high of nearly 19 minutes in 2011-12 to about 17 this season, his responsibilities have increased. An alternate captain once more this season, Lupul has been employed by Carlyle in the last minute of periods and late in games to protect leads, something he hadnt done previously. Now a 10-year veteran, Lupul heads into a Tuesday night affair against the Minnesota Wild with at least a goal in four straight games. He leads the 5-1-0 Leafs in scoring at this early stage in the season and is currently nestled amongst the league leaders with eight points. Fittingly with age though, those things no longer seem to matter as much. "Obviously from the day you start playing the Stanley Cup is your goal, but earlier in your career when youre trying to establish yourself ... it was always 30 goals, 30 goals, I want to get 30 goals," he reflected. "And now I really couldnt care less. Obviously I want to score every game I love scoring goals but I just want to do whatever the team needs me to do. "Earlier in my career I probably used to set goals as far as goals, assists and points. Right now, I just want to do whatever I can to help the team win. Winning the Stanley Cup is the only goal I have now."cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

The 2011 NBA MVP tore the meniscus in his right knee at Portland in November and was ruled out for the remainder of the season by the Bulls. He sat out last season while recovering from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. ... The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists detailed in a report how Russian and international journalists have been harassed and prevented from covering sensitive stories in Sochi such as the abuse of migrant workers and environmental issues. The report documented how Russian state-controlled media have been ignoring critical issues while few local journalists working for independent news outlets faced a campaign of smear and harassment. "Russian authorities have cracked down on journalists, rights defenders, and civil activists in a way not seen since the break-up of the Soviet Union," CPJ co-ordinator Nina Ognianova said in a statement. There was no immediate response from Russian authorities to the criticism levelled by CPJ. The Associated Press lastt year documented stories of local journalists and activists who found themselves at the front lines of a struggle to reveal corruption and environmental damage in the run-up to the games. Jordy Nelson Jersey. Months before the start of the games, journalists and activists were detained and some of them put on trial. Svetlana Kravchenko of the Caucasian Knot website, a prominent local journalist who has covered environmental travesties in Sochi and the heavy-handed tactics of local officials, was tried and found guilty of beating up a security guard. Rights groups including Human Right Watch called local authorities responsible for the campaign of harassment against journalists and activists. TORONTO - Sitting in the home of assistant coach Bill Bayno one February evening, JonasValanciunas fretted over the slump that had befallen him. Ahmad Bradshaw Jersey . "Im not scoring," the young centre griped, as he and his most devoted mentor watched film, hoping to get to the bottom of the recent on-court funk that was beginning to wear on his confidence. JV, youre 21-years-old," Bayno responded. "Theres no centres in the league your age that are even playing much less averaging 10 points a game. Youve had great games [but] when you have a two-point game, going up against a really good, tough [centre], you cant get upset about it." His message, the teams message, has never wavered. "Youve got to do the other things to help us win." With that in mind Bayno put pen to paper, drawing up a list of attainable goals for Valanciunas, a cheat sheet consisting of basic fundamentals that can now be found taped to the right side of his locker. Outwork, outrun, sprint[Set] great, legal screensStep to [your] manBlock out And it goes on like that. "He got really down on himself when he went through that tough stretch," Bayno explained. "So we just really sat down and talked and [I] said, look, its no secret, JV, these are the things youve got to do." "Youre going to have some ups and downs," he told the second-year pro, "but Im going to write it in your locker, so every day before the game you see, this is what you have to do on a nightly basis." "Everything thats on that sheet is what we work on." Its a simplistic tool but one that the Raptors first-year assistant feels strongly about, one that has yielded proven results throughout his coaching career. Admired for his innovative player development techniques and his passion for molding young talent, Bayno first adopted this method of teaching on one of his regular trips to Africa, about a decade ago. There he met Michael Scholl. The two would become good friends and Bayno eventually hired Scholl as his assistant at Loyola Marymount University in 2008. Scholl - who spent eight years in Africa running an AIDS prevention campaign and implementing youth basketball leagues - introduced Bayno to an old Harvard study, something he used himself to motivate the children he taught there. The study correlated the success of students with writing down their goals and displaying them in their dorms. Bayno, like Scholl before him, applied that principle to basketball. "Having those goals, having them written out where they see them every day I think is huge and its been proven," said Bayno, who is also planning on employing that strategy with the Raptors other sophomore, TerrenceRoss. "The vets dont need it. The vets will laugh at you if you try to do it. They really dont need it anyway. I could say to Chuck (Hayes), remember five games ago, you had that kick out situation, you missed a kick out. Hell say, yep, and hell know exactly the play. But the young kids need it." Bayno has spent more one-on-one time with Valanciunas than anyone on the staff this season. Whether hes sparring with JV in the post - wearing his trademark forearm pads to simulate in-game physicality - throwing out-of-reach passes to him in practice or hosting him at his house for an extra film session, Baynos fingerprints are all over the sophomores continued development. "He works with me a lot actually," Valanciunas said of Bayno. "Hes helped me a lot, especially on the post-up moves. Now I feel much more comfortable going against those guys, like big centres. What were working on every day is helping." Bayno, like head coach Dwane Casey and the rest of the Raptors staff, has worked to manage Valanciunas own expectations and lesson the external pressure that he faces as an emerging star in the league. Theyre not overly concerned with his scoring totals or the number of touches he gets in the post. He shouldnt be either. They know his value, at least this season, cant be measured using a box score. Instead they hope to lay down a foundation for the future. His role is to do the things he can control, to master the basic fundamentals of the game that will ensure his longevity in the league. The "little things" as Bayno calls them. "Were a good team because hes accepted his role and hes done all the little things," said Bayno, formally an assistant in Portland and with the Timberwolves. "I really believe hes going to be a good scorer in this league." "Im not expecting a lot of point production every night out of him," echoed Casey. "If he gives it to us, its great but I dont want to put that kind of pressure on him. Hes growing, hes a second-year guy. Im not going to expect him to get 23 points, 24 points every night. If he does, its gravy. If he runs the floor, rebounds, plays defence, for this team, this year, thats great. I promise you, his offence is going to come. We all want it to hurry up and get here yesterday but Im more concerned about him picking up the speed of the game, the rebounding, defending the low post, defending his position and reacting in the half-court game. His career is going to be long enough. Hes going to be a scorer in this league two or three years from now." A month ago at this time Valanciunas was pressing. The touches were not there every night, his scoring numbers dipped, as did his playing time. More often than not Casey would opt for a smaller, more experienced lineup late in games. Valanciunas was frustrated. Then the card went up in his locker. He sees it nearly each day, before and after every home game. Currently, hes playing some of the best basketball of his young career. Whether his improved play is related or a happy coincidence, he has been carrying out the very tasks Casey and company have been emphasizing. In Sundays win over Atlanta, Valanciunas recorded his team-leading 19th double-double of the season after totaling eight as a rookie a year ago. He played 33 minutes, attempting just four shots while matching a career-high with nine made free throws. His impact on the game was understated, yet significant. His point production has gone up but, as Casey points out, hes not necessarily seeing more touches. Instead hes working for them. Hes running the floor, hes rebounding, hes getting to the line and as a result hes playing more and closing out games. He understands how his bread is buttered, at least for the time being. "Im not a scoring machine," Valanciunas acknowledged. "Im a worker. My job is to get a rebound, to set a screen to make DeMar (DeRozan) open, or Kyle (Lowry) open, or [Ross] open, whoever is playing on the perimeter. My job is to box out [and] go for offensive rebounds. Thats my job." In less than four weeks, Valanciunas will make his first playoff appearance. Although hes peaking at the right time of season, the internal expectations havent changed. Outwork your man, set hard screens, box out, run the floor, do the little things. Hes heard them every day since arriving in training camp five months ago. Hes practiced them. Only now, handwritten in bright, unmistakable lettering, they stare him in the face. Mike Adams Elite Jersey . Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema scored two goals each Wednesday night in a 6-1 rout of Schalke in the first leg of their second-round matchup. "We played a very, very good match," Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said. "We got well into the match, scored two early goals and that opened the game and left us able to counter and to use the speed of our players. LaRon Landry Elite Jersey . -- Minnesota Vikings running back AdrianPeterson is listed as probable to return to the lineup Sunday against the New Orleans Saints after missing the past three games with a high ankle sprain. On draft day in 1991, a young quarterback by the name of "Brett Favor" was selected 33rd overall by the Atlanta Falcons. I dont know who this Favor guy is, but he sure looks a lot like Brett Favre who won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers. Chris Berman handled the improper pronunciation of Favre a lot better than he handled Jon Gruden cursing on national television. Warning: the video below contains expletive language. At least Berman tried to stop Gruden from swearing on TV, unlike these Philadelphia Eagles fans, who at the 1999 NFL Draft couldnt stop booing and cussing at their future 6x Pro BBowl winning quarterback Donovan McNabb. Erik Walden Jersey. McNabb may have been booed at the 1999 draft, but at least he doesnt feel the wrath every year. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell gets loudly booed each and every draft. Football fans use the draft as an opportunity to voice their displeasure with Goodell. I think someone needs a hug... A hug Dontari Poe! I said a hug! ENGLEWOOD, Colo. Dwayne Allen Womens Jersey . -- The Denver Broncos have signed free agent MarquiceCole to replace injured cornerback ChrisHarris Jr. on their roster. The Broncos placed Harris on IR after he tore his left ACL in Denvers 24-17 win over San Diego last weekend. Cole was released Dec. 26 by the New England Patriots (13-4), whom the Broncos (14-3) host Sunday in the AFC championship. A fifth-year pro with 64 games of experience, including two starts, Cole had 10 tackles, one interception and three pass breakups for New England this season. Harris is the fifth Broncos starter lost for the season, joining VonMiller, RahimMoore, KevinVickerson and Wolfe. A versatile cornerback adept at playing on either side or in the slot, Harris might just prove the toughest of Denvers injured defenders to replace, especially going against TomBrady, who has a 10-4 career record against PeytonMannings teams. Harris took to Twitter after an MRI on Monday revealed a torn ACL that will require surgery and at least six months of recovery and rehab and said, "Blessed to be able to help the team get this Far, and will still do my part in meeting room to help my guys out." Cole has played for the New York Jets (2009-11) and Patriots (2012-13), totalling 36 tackles, four interceptions, 14 pass breakups, three fumble recoveries and 51 special teams stops in his career. In eight career playoff games, including six with the Jets, he has five tackles on defence and five on special teams. Also Tuesday, the Broncos gave up hope of defensive end DerekWolfe returning to the field in the playoffs after suffering seizure-like symptoms on Nov. 29. He had practiced just twice since then, on Dec. 25 and 27. Wolfe also was placed on IR and the Broncos replaced him by promoting offensive tackle VinstonPainter, their sixth-round draft pick from Virginia Tech who spent the entire season on Denvers practice squad. PHILADELPHIA -- AlfredoSimon invented new pitches to baffle hitters. Tony Romo Jerseys . Simon allowed five hits over 7 2-3 strong innings, DevinMesoraco hit a three-run homer and the Cincinnati Reds beat the struggling Philadelphia Phillies 3-0 on Friday night. Simon (5-2) had a season-high eight strikeouts, walked one and hit one batter. MannyParra got one out in the eighth and AroldisChapman struck out pinch-hitter CesarHernandez on a 102 mph fastball with runners on second and third for his second save in two tries. Simon mixed a strong fastball with a slider and assorted off-speed pitches to keep the Phillies off-balance. "I was trying to have fun out there," Simon said. A couple of pitches were clocked in the low 70s. "I dont know what he was throwing half the time," Mesoraco said. "I was just catching it and throwing it back." The Phillies havent scored a run in the last 20 innings and were shut out for the fifth time this season. They have lost four straight and eight of 10 to fall a season-worst five games under .500 at 17-22. KyleKendrick (0-4) lost his ninth straight decision, dating to last Aug. 11. He allowed three runs and four hits in seven innings. Kendrick hasnt had much help from the offence, however. The Phillies have been shut out five times in those 15 starts and have scored one run or less eight times. "Main thing is I want the team to win," Kendrick said. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job and give my team a chance to win." The Reds didnt have slugger JoeyVotto because of a left distal quadriceps strain. The 2010 NL MVP remained in Cincinnati. With JayBruce on the disabled list, it was the first time the Reds didnt have Votto and Bruce in their lineup since Sept. 20, 2012, at the Cubs. Mesoraco provided all the support they would need. He ripped a three-run shot in his first at-bat since returning from his second trip to the disabled list. "It was terrific. His first at-bat and he gave us an early cushion," Reds manager BryanPrice said. Mesoraco was sidelined by a left hamstring injury. He arrived to the ballpark less than three hours before the first pitch after making the trip from Norfolk where he played three games for Triple-A Louisville. "I was supposed to leave early this morning and didnt leave until about 3," he said. "I was starting to panic. I didnt feel that good. My legs were tired. Things cleared up after the first swing." A reshuffled lineup didnt solve Philadelphias hitting woes. Leadoff hitter BenRevere was out with a stomach virus, so JimmyRollins batted first for the first time in 70 games. CarlosRuiz moved up to bat second and JohnMayberry Jr. took Reveres spot in centre field. The Phillies squandered a few chances in the early innings. They had runners on first and third with two outs in the first, but Simon struck out MarlonByrd to end the inning. They had runners on the corners again with one out in the third, but Simon fanned ChaseUtley and RyanHoward. Simon struck out Ruiz to leave another runner on third in the fifth. NOTES: Votto had been the only Red to appear in the first 39 games. ... Reds cleanup hitter ToddFrazier was 0 for 4, ending his career-best 14-game hitting streak. .. Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg has used 22 different lineups in 39 games. ... Matt Beech was the last Phillies pitcher to have a losing streak of at least nine games. He lost 11 in a row between Aug. 13, 1996 and Aug. 2, 1997. ... ColeHamels (0-2, 5.32) of the Phillies tries again for his 100th career win Saturday night vs. HomerBailey (3-2, 4.72). Cole Beasley Jersey Dallas Cowboys . The Stars were up 3-1 in the third. Stars and Jets will meet at the MTS Centre Sunday night (TSN Jets, TSN 1290) in what is a must win for the Jets. The Jets and Stars will meet in Dallas later this month, the Stars have two games in hand. Kyle Wilber Jerseys . Bradley Johnson headed Norwich in front early in the second half before captain Sebastien Bassong was adjudged to have fouled substitute John Guidetti inside the penalty box.VANCOUVER -- Theres been a lot of painful bumps and twists on the road SamiSalo has travelled. When the season started the Vancouver Canuck defenceman wasnt sure if he would ever play hockey again after rupturing his Achilles tendon last summer. Now Salo finds himself just one win away from playing in the Stanley Cup final for the first time in his 12-year NHL career. "Its been a long journey, not just in a career way," Salo said Monday after the Canucks practised at Rogers Arena. "Im just excited to be part of this great group. "All the blood and sweat you poured during the season has really paid off. It is a really good feeling." The Canucks take a 3-1 series lead over the San Jose Sharks into Tuesday nights Game 5 of the Western Conference final. A win sends Vancouver to the Cup final for the first time in 17 years. Salos booming slapshot was a big part of the Canucks 4-2 win over the Sharks on Sunday. He scored twice on the power play and added an assist. Vancouver scored three power-play goals in 1:55 in the second period, all on five-on-three situations. The Canucks have pushed the Sharks to the brink, but Salo knows that final shove may be the hardest. "You have to have the killer instinct to try and finish those guys off," he said. "We have seen that if youre not going out there to win, if you are just sitting back, usually things are not going your way." Rookie LoganCouture said the Sharks are focused on forcing a Game 6 Thursday in San Jose. "We know what to do, we know how to win," Couture said after the Sharks practised in San Jose. "We just need to go out there and do it. "Were obviously not where we want to be. Wed rather be up 3-1. The reality of the situation now is were down. Were excited to go to Vancouver and try and win a game." Salo has suffered around 36 injuries, costing him over 250 games, during his career. But the most devastating came last summer when playing floor ball, a form of floor hockey, in Finland. Friends told Salo it sounded like a shotgun blast when his Achilles ruptured. All he knew he was first-face on the floor. "It didnt hurt at all," he said. "It was just a weird feeling. "Three or four weeks after the surgery it was really painful at times. I got through it with the help of friends and family." It was a long, slow recovery for the 36-year-old native of Turku, Finland. He missed training camp and the first 52 games of the season. It was December before Salo was finally convinced hed be able to play hockey again. In early February Salo was sent to the Manitoba Moose, Vancouvers AHL farm team, for a conditioning stint. He responded by scoring two goals in his first game. He returned to the Canucks lineup Feb. 12. "Its like climbing Mount Everest," said Salo. Morris Claiborne Jersey Dallas Cowboys. "Its very small steps from Day 1 after surgery until all the way up to the time in December when I started skating. "You didnt see any progress on a daily basis, or sometimes even a weekly basis. You saw the light at the end of the tunnel once you . . . were able to do something you werent able to do maybe two weeks before. You knew things were going the right way." In 27 regular-season games, the six-foot-three, 215-pound Salo had three goals and four assists. In 13 playoff games he has three goals, four points and averaged 17:40 of ice time. Canuck captain HenrikSedin said Salo is an important weapon in a Vancouver defensive unit that has scored 13 goals during the playoffs. "Weve always known in here what he can do," said Sedin. "Coming back like he did from his injury, shows how much he wants to be here and how much he wants to win." Beating the odds is nothing new for Salo. He was the third last player taken in the 1996 draft, 239th by the Ottawa Senators. Coach Alain Vigneault said he wasnt even sure if Salo would clear the latest hurdle. "At his age, to come back from such a serious injury, we werent sure he was going to pull that off," said Vigneault. "When hes on top of his game, he really helps our back end." The Canucks would like to finish off the Sharks as quickly as possible, then wait for the winner of the Boston Bruin-Tampa Bay Lightning series. Recent history shows Vancouver sometimes has trouble ending series. Vancouver is 2-4 in playoff elimination games this spring. They are 0-2 in Game 5s. "They say the fourth (win) is the toughest one to get," said Sedin. "Thats been the case for us. "We are going to treat tomorrow as Game 7. Its a must game for us and we are going to come out really excited." Vancouver took a 3-0 lead over the Chicago Blackhawks in the opening round of the playoffs, then needed a goal in overtime of Game 7 to defeat the defending Stanley Cup champions. The Canucks were forced to make an extra trip to Nashville in the second round when they lost Game 5 of that series 4-2. They defeated the Predators 2-1 in Game 6. Vigneault gave no update on the status of defenceman AaronRome, who was injured by a JamieMcGinn check in Game 3. He said defenceman ChristianEhrhoff, who missed Game 4 with an upper body injury, is day-to-day. Salo is in the final year of a contract that pays him US$3.5 million this season. He wants to play hockey next year, but isnt sure where that will be. The future is uncertain for Salo, but winning a Stanley Cup would make a fond memory. "It would be awesome," he said. "It just seems like this team has grown up during these past years. "We knew what kind of mistakes we made and weve grown." cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

With the 2014 NBA Draft now just one month away, TSN 1050s Will Strickland and Duane Watson, hosts of "1-on-1 with Will & Duane" heard on Sunday nights, have released their mock draft for the first round. Trent Richardson Jersey . While both analysts go in different directions with their selections (as they often do on their show), there is consensus at the top of the draft, starting with some Canadian content at first-overall. Strickland and Watson both have Thornhill, Ontarios Andrew Wiggins out of Kansas going first-overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he would join fellow GTA products in TristanThompson and AnthonyBennett. "A unique situation where talent and need are both met. Wigginss upside is high and will excel at the pro level," says Watson of the pick. Wigginss Jayhawks teammate, centreJoel Embiid, is Watsons choice for the next pick to the Milwaukee Bucks. Watson agrees with the assessment. "Embiid is the logical choice," says Strickland. "His back issues might be a red flag for some, but its hard to pass on this potential." For Strickland, the next Canadian to go in the first round will be Syracuse point guard, Tyler Ennis. He has him going at #6 to the Boston Celtics. "Excellent pick, especially if RajonRondo is no longer in Bostons future plans," says Strickland."Smart, tough, solid and may get the keys to the car before trade deadline." Watson also sees Ennis being taken early on, but not until the 15th-selection and the Orlando Magic. While Strickland sees a pair of Canadians heading to Arizona withMelvin Ejim of Iowa State going at #14 and Arizona States Jordan Bachynski going at #27 to the Phoenix Suns, theres no place for the duo in Watsons first round. The final consensus Canadian to be drafted in the first round will be Michigan guard Nik Stauskas.Strickland sees the Mississauga, Ontario product heading to the Denver Nuggets at #11, whileWatson believes hell be taken one pick later by the Orlando Magic. "A flat-out shooter, something the Magic lack and one with an overlooked ability to create his own shot and create for others," says Watson of Stauskas. Not only did they fall one game short of winning the Stanley Cup, but last year also set new franchise records for most road wins (27) and road points (58) in a season. They picked up a 3-2 win at Columbus on Monday to open a four-game swing and move to 15-4-1 in their last 20 regular season road games. After RobertoLuongo took a shootout loss to Pittsburgh in Vancouvers opener last week, CorySchneider stepped in on Monday and made 23 saves to clinch the win. He came up big with a stop on a penalty shot in the third frame and CodyHodgson tallied the game-tying goal minutes later. AlexandreBurrows later netted the game-winner in the frame. "He was great tonight," Hodgson said of Schneider. "Hes solid every time you put him in the net." Both HenrikSedin (charley horse) and MarcoSturm (wrist) missed practice on Tuesday with minor injuries suffered on Monday, but head coach Alain Vigneault pointed out that both players were able to finish the game and said they should play tonight. The Flyers season-opening road trip included a victory over the defending Stanley Cup champions and their first regular season shutout in moore than 18 months. Adam Vinatieri Colts Jersey. The Flyers overhauled their roster this past offseason, trading away captain MikeRichards and former 40-goal scorer JeffCarter while adding goaltender IlyaBryzgalov and signing JaromirJagr amongst other new additions. Bryzgalov was brought in to add stability to the clubs goaltending situation and has been quick to contribute. After helping Philadelphia knock off Boston in its season opener last Thursday, Bryzgalov turned aside all 20 shots faced on Saturday to down New Jersey, 3-0. Bryzgalov collected the 24th shutout of his career and the blanking was the first for the Flyers in the regular season since April 6, 2010. ClaudeGiroux scored his second goal in as many games, rookie MattRead netted his first career goal and WayneSimmonds, acquired from the Kings in the Richards deal, lit the lamp for the first time as a Flyer. "I think collectively we did a good job as a whole," said Simmonds. "We stress team defense and I think we all back-checked hard, we all took care of what we had to do and we got the shutout for Bryz." Philadelphia is 8-4-1-1 in its previous 14 home openers at Wells Fargo Center and the new Flyers should be greeted with open arms tonight. "Im expecting the fans to go crazy," said Simmonds. "Ive heard a lot about the fans and how they always expect the best and I think thats awesome." The Canucks picked up a 6-2 home victory over the Flyers last year to win their second straight in this series. They have also won their last two trips to Philadelphia, where they havent lost since Nov. 13, 2003. cheap jerseyscheap jerseys from china ' ' '

BOSTON -- AlexOvechkin looks as if hes ready to carry the Washington Capitals to one of the Eastern Conferences final playoff spots. Mike Daniels Jersey. Coming off a strong game two days earlier, Ovechkin collected his 800th career point and raised his league-leading total to 43 goals with a pair of power-play scores, leading the Capitals to a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon. "I think were just playing more solid right now," said Ovechkin, who became the 150th player to collect 800 points. "We dont have time to make mistakes. Every point right now is very important for us." JoelWard and EricFehr also scored, and BradenHoltby made 36 saves for the Capitals, who won their fourth straight in their push for the playoffs. "I think we were missing our swagger a little bit," Ward said of his teams play before the Olympic break. "When our team plays with a little bit of cockiness we seem to get wins. We were missing that before the break. Were finding ways to win. The bottom line is were winning games." Ovechkin had the go-ahead goal and two assists in a 5-4 win at Florida on Thursday. Its his first season of 40-plus goals since collecting 40-plus in his first five seasons from 2005-06 to 2009-10. The Capitals star winger even impressed Bruins goalie TuukkaRask with his second goal. "The second one it seemed like he was going short side and it just kind of knuckled in," Rask said, breaking into a slight smile to show how impressed he was with the shot. "I was trying to ask him and he was kind of shaking his shoulders. Its funny when you see those. He was kind of leaning into it. Its like impossible to go the other way and it goes the other way. Youre like, Come on, buddy." Washington, which hosts Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon, remained one point behind the Flyers for the conferences eighth and final playoff spot. PatriceBergeron and ShawnThornton had Bostons goals. Rask stopped 27 shots in his first start since winning the bronze medal with Finland at the Sochi Olympics. It was just the Bruins second regulation loss in their past 13 games (8-2-3). The Bruins lost 5-4 in overtime at Buffalo on Wednesday. "Were getting caught cheating too much in the offensive side and its ending up in the back of the net," Boston coach Claude Julien said. "Its something we need to fix because were giving up too many goals." Bruins captain ZdenoChara was disappointed how his team started out. "For sure that wasnt our best game," he said. "We could have done a number of things differently and better. We have to learn from games like this, especially against an opponent like this." The Capitals opened a 3-0 lead on second-period goals by Ovechkin and Ward. Similar to his first score of the game, Ovechkin one-timed a blistering shot over the right shoulder of Rask inside the far post from the left circle for his milestone point. Ward stole a puck near the blue line from defenceman JohnnyBoychuk, broke in alone and shifted to his backhand before tucking a shot behind Rask for an unassisted score midway into the period. The Bruins cut it to 3-1 on Bergerons power-play goal 41 seconds later when he snapped off a shot from the slot that beat Holtby inside the left post. Thorntons centring pass was inadvertently tipped past Holtby by defenceman MikeGreen as he was skating hard to the net battling for position with Bruins forward GregoryCampbell at 17:32. The goal was originally credited to Campbell, but changed early in the third. But the Capitals made it 4-2 when Fehr scored on a clean breakaway midway into the third. He poked the puck into an open area near centre ice from his own blue line, skated in on Rask and beat him between the pads. Holtby made a key pad save on ChrisKellys breakaway bid while his team was on a power play with 3:06 to play. Washington led 1-0 after one on Ovechkins first goal. He one-timed JohnCarlsons pass from the left circle inside the far post at 18:39. The Capitals held Boston to one shot on goal when they were short-handed for a full two minutes after JayBeagle was called for holding and TomWilson high-sticking during the delayed penalty early in the first period. "That was a big kill for us," Holtby said. "I didnt know it was a 5-on-3 until I looked up on the faceoff. The guys made some big plays. I think one or two shots got through." Earlier Sunday, Czech Klara Zakopalova led the second singles match against Maria Torro-Flor 6-3, 2-0.WESTWEGO, La. -- Even as ChrisPaul remained evasive about his future, he did what team leaders are expected to do. He showed up at the Hornets suburban training centre on the first day players were permitted to use team facilities for voluntary workouts since a tentative labour deal was reached last weekend -- and he did so with a smile. "Ive got to be the happiest person in the world right now just to be back in the gym, getting a chance to work out with a couple of my teammates," Paul said. The star point guard is the subject of rampant trade talk because he can opt out of his contract after this season and become a free agent. If the Hornets are unable to persuade Paul to sign an extension, they may be inclined to deal him to another team, rather than let him simply walk in free agency. "I dont think about it, to tell you the truth," Paul said of the trade rumours. "Im just ready to get out here and compete and hoop. This is what I do. I love it. I have a very tight circle and they know this whole lockout things been driving me nuts, so Im just happy to get out on the court and compete. This is the way that I express myself, by playing basketball, so I cant wait to get out there." General manager Dell Demps declined to meet with reporters on Thursday, but has said that his top priority is to work on an extension with Paul. Paul described various and mushrooming repports about where he might be traded as, "Just rumours. John Kuhn Elite Jersey. " "You cant control it. Its always going to happen. Its part of the game," Paul said. "Im just happy to be back with my team." Small forwards TrevorAriza and QuincyPondexter joined Paul at the teams suburban training centre. They worked out with Pauls personal trainer, Idan Ravin, because they cannot work with team staff until the new labour agreement has been ratified. New Orleans has only five players under contract. Centre EmekaOkafor, who is travelling in Thailand, is expected back as soon as this weekend. JarrettJack was expected to join the workouts on Friday. Shooting guard MarcoBelinelli, a restricted free agent who has a tender offer from the Hornets, plans to arrive by Monday. Demps, who was allowed to start discussing the frameworks of deals with agents on Wednesday, must fill out the rest of the roster through a compressed free agency period. If the new labour deal is ratified as expected, the Hornets open camp on Dec. 9. The Hornets regular-season schedule is expected to begin in late December but has not been officially set. Paul said he thinks the Hornets priority should be to figure out whether free agent DavidWest is willing to come back. "Thats like a brother to me," Paul said. SAN DIEGO -- Jordan Spieth turned out to be the star attraction Friday playing with TigerWoods at Torrey Pines. Patriots Online Store . Spieth again showed game well beyond his 20 years with a 9-under 63 on the North Course, giving him a one-shot lead over StewartCink going into the weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open. Cink drilled a 3-wood from 280 yards onto the green at the par-5 ninth on the tougher South Course for a two-putt birdie and a 71. Woods rarely gets upstaged at Torrey Pines, where his eight professional wins include the 2008 U.S. Open. But in his first competition in six weeks, Woods hardly looked the part as the defending champion. He did not make birdie on any of the par 5s for the second straight day, and a three-putt bogey on the par-5 ninth hole on the North gave him a 71. He was nine shots behind. PhilMickelsons ailing back wasnt much better and he withdrew Friday night because of muscle pain. Mickelson shot a 1-over 73 on the South Course in the second round, leaving him eight strokes behind Spieth. Mickelson said after the round that he feared getting into bad habits by altering his swing to keep his back from hurting. This is hometown tournament and he said he wanted to keep playing. His management company released a statement late Friday evening that Mickelson had decided to withdraw. Mickelson said he would talk to doctors to figure out the best course of action. Hes scheduled to defend his title next week in the Phoenix Open. Ottawas BradFritsch shot 70 to jump into a tie for 11th place. It was the first time Spieth has played with Woods in a tournament -- they played a practice round together at the Presidents Cup last fall -- and the Texan felt and played as if it was any other round on the PGA Tour. Then again, the first time he played with Mickelson, Spieth closed with a 62 at the TPC Boston last year, a round that led Mickelson to call Presidents Cup captain FredCouples and lobby for Spieth to be picked for the team. In both cases, Spieth was more interested with the score than the audience. "Any time you can shoot a lower score than a 66 or 65 and you can really get it deep and be in a zone and not worry about what your score is ... thats special," Spieth said. "Thats proving that I can play my best golf when it matters on a PGA Tour venue. Each time you can do that, you get more and more confident that you can do it more often." As for playing with Woods? He only shrugged. Spieth grew up watching, idolizing and being amazed by Woods. But this was only a Friday. "They were both rounds that I needed to move up the leaderboard," he said about playing with Woods this week and Mickelson last year. "They werent in the last couple groups on Sunday, so they werent to win. They were to get myself up and in a position." Spieth was at 10-under 134 and will be in the last group Saturday with Cink and NicolasColsaerts, who shot 67 on the South and was two shots behind. "Im looking forward to playing with Jordan. Ive never seen him hit a ball, so that will be fun," Cink said. "Its always exciting to see the young guys play. Im playing really well. Im really excited about golf right now and the way Im playing. Im having some fun out there and seeing a lot of good things." The final two rounds will be on the South, which is about 600 yards longer and on Friday played more than 4 1/2 shots harder. Spieth didnt hit the ball better than his opening-round 71 on the South. His putter made the difference. He rolled in a bending 18-foot birdie putt on the 10th hole and his confidence grew up there. He avoided a three-putt on the 17th by making a 15-footer for par, and he really took off down the stretch. He holed another sidehill birdie putt on the par-3 sixth from about 20 feet, and he made a 15-footer for his final birdie on the eighth hole. The rest of his birdie putts were inside 4 feet. "The kids got talent," Woods said. "He hits it a long way, phenomenal putter. He made a boat load of putts today from the 10- to 20-foot range, and on poa greens, thats not easy to do. He was pouring them in there. He had speed to them, too. Thats what you have to do to putt on poa. "He putted with a lot of confidence." That wasnt the case for Woods, whose only birdies came on his opening hole and on his sixth hole, a flip wedge to 4 feet. He didnt feel like he was off by much, but thats all it took. The course is set up in such a way that the thickest grass is just off the fairway. "I wouldnt say its rusty," Woods said. "I was just a fraction off, and at this level and on golf courses like this, if youre just a fraction off it doesnt take much, especially as tight as the North Course is. I had so many balls that landed in the fairway that went in the rough. Now I cant be aggressive, Ive got to play conservative into some of these flags. When you should be able to fire at some of these flags, I just couldnt." The cut was at even-par 144, and 83 players advanced. There will be another cut to top 70 and ties after the third round. Woods wasnt ruling himself out just yet. He remembered the time he made the cut by two shots in 1999, and then had a 62-65 weekend to win by two shots. But that was before the South Course was lengthened. No had better than 67 the first two days this week on the South. Sealver Siliga Jersey .com) - Alabama and Florida State were predictably the top two teams in the latest installment of the BCS standings. Shane Vereen Blue Jersey . - Wednesdays lightweight bout between Canadian Sam (Hands of Stone) Stout and K.MIAMI -- The NFLs report in the Miami Dolphins bullying case is expected to be released soon, shedding further light on the much-scrutinized, troubled relationship between offensive linemen JonathanMartin and RichieIncognito. The report likely will address whether the Dolphins organization was at fault for the locker-room culture that led Martin to leave the team last October. He later said he was harassed daily by teammates, including Incognito, and alleged their racial, aggressive and sexually charged comments played a role in his departure. Incognitos suspension by the team was lifted Tuesday. Dolphins officials say that was an administrative move agreed to by all parties last year, and had nothing to do with any new developments in the league investigation of the case. Last week, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said he has an idea of what will be in the leagues report, and indicated he doesnt expect any new revelations. He said hes proud of the way the people running the franchise responded to the scandal. Martin has said he tried to be friends with Incognito. The two players traded more a thousand text messages in a years span, and the teasing and vulgar banter went both ways, with references to sex, drugs, violence and bawdy behaviour, often in a jocular tone. The back-and-forth continued last week. In his first interview since the scandal broke, Martin told NBC persistent vulgar language around the team made him feel trapped. Incognitos attorney Mark Schamel responded with a statement saying Martin was "hiding behind false allegations" rather than dealing with "his poor on-field performance and myriad other issues." The NFL report will come from New York attorney Ted Wells three months after he was retained by the league to investigate the case, which inspired a national debate about hazing and workplace bullying. Wells will determine the role of coach Joe Philbin, his staff and Miami management in the case. One issue is whether anyone on the coaching staff ordered Incognito to toughen up Martinn, who became a starter as a rookie in 2012 but played poorly at times. Tom Brady Red Jersey. . Martin has said people in the organization knew he was unhappy about comments teammates made to him, but he didnt talk to Philbin about it. The 6-foot-5, 312-pound Martin abruptly left the team Oct. 28. He was briefly hospitalized and then joined his family in California and underwent counselling for emotional issues. Incognito was suspended Nov. 3 and sat out the final eight games. Both players have said they want to play in 2014, but it likely wont be with the Dolphins. Incognito becomes a free agent next month and will probably sign with another team, and Dolphins are expected to trade or release Martin, who has two years remaining on his contract. In a tweet Tuesday, Incognito said he supported Martin "100 per cent in his return to football in 2014." Teammates said the two linemen seemed to be good friends, despite their contrasting backgrounds. Martin, 24, was a classics major at Stanford, while Incognito, 30, was kicked off his team at Nebraska and went on to develop a reputation as one of the NFLs dirtiest players known for out-of-bounds behaviour. Incognito has said he regrets racist and profane language he used with Martin, but said it stemmed from a culture of locker-room "brotherhood," not bullying. Incognito is white and Martin is black. Teammates both black and white have said Incognito is not a racist, and theyve been more supportive of the veteran guard than they have of Martin. In November there were reports that Ross might clean house after the season. But Philbin was retained to return for a third season in 2014, and most of his staff remains, including offensive line coach Jim Turner, who worked most closely with Incognito and Martin. "Jim Turner is an amazing coach and friend," Incognito tweeted Tuesday. General manager Jeff Ireland left the Dolphins in January after six seasons because of the teams mediocre results, and because he clashed with Philbin over personnel decisions. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' '

NEW HAVEN, Conn. Jonathan Newsome Colts Jersey . - Defending champion and top-seeded Simona Halep was beaten in her opening match at the Connecticut Open, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 by Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova on Tuesday. Rybarikova, ranked 68th in the world, broke the worlds second-ranked player six times, including in the pivotal sixth game of the third set to go up 4-2. She then served out the win. Earlier, American Alison Riske beat sixth-seeded Italian Flavia Pennetta 6-1, 7-6 (3). The lone American left in the tournament earned five service breaks, four while cruising through the opening set. Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic also moved into the quarterfinals with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Caroline Garcia of France. The final match of the night featured Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, the tournaments second seed, against Ekaterina Makarova of Russia. Coby Fleener Jersey . They had already blown a double-digit lead, fans were hitting the exits, and a long seven-game road trip waited at the end. Bjoern Werner Womens Jersey . He didnt even match his first-half total from Friday night. He didnt have to, with the Knicks offering him plenty of support for a change.BURNABY, B.C. -- Japan rugby coach Eddie Jones might want to bottle whatever he told his team at halftime on Saturday night. Down 25-9 at the break, Japan stormed out of the gate and outscored Canada 25-0 over the final 40 minutes to stun the hosts 34-25 in the first game of the Pacific Nations Cup tournament for both countries. Jones is back coaching after suffering a stroke in October, but that didnt stop him from letting loose on his players after a disappointing first half. "Ill tell you what, it wasnt good for my blood pressure," said the 54-year-old. "We thought we were fitter than them. We thought if we could just hang in there ... we were just like a boxer on the ropes hanging on there. And if you get a chance to throw a jab, you throw it, and thats what we were able to do. "It takes a bit of courage to do that, so Im really pleased with that from the boys." Japan ran ragged in the second half, busting through the line for a pair of tries that left Canadian head coach Kieran Crowley shaking his head. "We really played well in that first half. We put pressure on them, we scored a couple really good tries," he said. "Second half, we had a couple bad defensive errors from set plays, which you cant afford to do. They were pretty soft tries, really. "Japan just took it to us and they deserved to win with that second-half performance." Yoshikazu Fujita, Yu Tamura and Hendrik Tui had the tries for the visitors, who won their eighth straight overall, while Ayumu Goromaru kicked five penalties and added two converts. John Moonlight, Ciaran Hearn and Taylor Paris had the tries for Canada, while James Pritchard added two penalties and two converts. Japan started to claw its way back after halftime with a try in the 42nd minute as Fujita dove over the line, and after Goromaru missed the conversion, the score stood at 25-14. Goromaru then kicked his fourth penalty of the night in the 56th minute to make it 25-17 before Tamura broke through the Canadian midfield untouched in the 63rd, with Goromanus conversion cutting the deficit to just one. Clearly rattled, Canada could barely hold onto the ball and Tui completed the comeback by again busting through the line to make it 31-25 after Goromarus conversion. Goromaru added to his point total by booting another penalty on the last kick of the game for the 34-25 final. "We always knew wed have to cope with the physical onslaught of Canada at home for the first 40," said Jones. "If we wouldnt have given away that try away (before) halftime we would have been pretty happy, but 25-9 at halftime, youre battling to stay in the game." Despite watching his team get bossed around in the second half, Tyler Ardron -- a 22-year-old from Lakefield, Ont., who plays for Ospreys in Wales and captained Canada for the first time -- saw some positives. "Tons of things to work on still," said Ardron, who made just his 14th appearance for the national team. "But we executed a lot things that we wanted to and I think if you look at that first half, a lot of things went our way and in the second half a couple bounces maybe went their way. Cory Redding Colts Jersey. " The six-team Pacific Nations Cup tournament also includes Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and the United States. Canada will play world No. 10 Scotland at Torontos BMO Field next Saturday before travelling to Sacramento, Calif., to face the U.S. on June 21 in another Pacific Nations Cup match. The tournament consists of two groups of three teams, with each country taking on the other two in its conference. The top teams from each meet in Novembers final. Before his teams dominating second half, the turning point appeared to come in the 34th minute when Japans Shota Horie was sent to the sin bin for a foul, leaving his team down a man. Pritchard made the ensuing penalty from close range and Canada opened the floodgates with two impressive tries to close out the half. Moonlight finished off a good move for a try in the 37th minute before Paris broke through the Japanese line moments later, with Pritchard converting both for a 25-9 lead. "(We) definitely didnt think it was over," said Ardron. "I think we felt that if we played our game over the next 40 minutes we would be comfortable, but that clearly wasnt the case. "Credit to Japan -- they came out and played their game and we didnt turn it around." Japan, ranked No. 12 in the world, has been a pain for 15th-ranked Canada over the last several years. The Japanese tied Canada at the last two Rugby World Cups, with the 23-23 draw in 2011 helping to push the Canadians to fourth in their pool to miss out on automatic qualification for the 2015 tournament. Japan then beat Canada 16-13 in last years Pacific Nations Cup, a result that handed the championship trophy to Fiji. Crowley said earlier in the week that a win over Japan on home soil would help propel his side up the International Rugby Boards rankings and his players started brightly in front of a partisan crowd at Swangard Stadium. Canada had sustained pressure early in the match, with Hearn going over the line for the opening try in the seventh minute, but Pritchard missed the conversion for a 5-0 lead. Goromaru got Japan on the board with a penalty kick in the 12th minute, and he connected again three minutes later to give his team a 6-5 advantage. Pritchard then added a penalty in the 18th minute to restore the Canadian lead at 8-6, but Goromaru kicked his third penalty of the half in the 29th to make it 9-8 Japan. "Rugbys on a bit of a high at the moment in Canada," said Crowley. "Weve just got to get some of these tight games across the line. Japan have had our number a little bit the last few times weve played them, which is unfortunate." Notes: Scotland beat the U.S. 24-6 on Saturday night in Houston. ...
