BARCELONA, Spain -- David Zurutuza lasted only five minutes, but it was long enough to score the opening double in Real Sociedads 5-1 rout of Sporting Gijon in the Spanish league on Sunday. A.J. Hawk Womens Jersey . The 25-year-old midfielder volleyed Antoine Griezmanns cross into the left corner for Sociedads second-minute opener, and a minute later he stunned Sporting with another shot from the right side of the area after Carlos Vela had played him clear. "Those goals were just surreal," said Sporting coach Manolo Preciado. "All the goals that they had missed earlier in the season went in today." But Zurutuzas dream start took an ugly turn in the fifth minute when he and Sporting defender Gregory Arnolin collided face-to-face while disputing a loose ball. Zurutuza was taken off on a stretcher, and the Basque club said after the game that he had a broken nose and will need surgery. Gregory tried to continue after cleaning the blood from his face but was substituted soon after. Miguel de las Cuevas grabbed one back for Sporting two minutes after halftime, only to see Sociedads Gorka Elustondo tap in a poorly defended corner kick in the 75th. Mikel Aranburu and Griezmann scored in stoppage time at Anoeta stadium to seal a win that lifted Sociedad four points clear of the drop. "Its a pity for Zurutuza to score the two goals in such good form and then hurt his nose," said Sociedad coach Philippe Montanier. "We will keep him in our thoughts." Earlier, Granada coach Abel Resino got off to a winning start as his team moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win at Real Betis, while third-place Valencia was held to a 2-2 draw at Racing Santander. Striker Odion Ighalo put Granada ahead in the 13th minute with a low shot from the edge of the area, and Carlos Martins finished off a counterattack for the visitors second five minutes before halftime. The home side improved after the interval and substitute Jonathan Pereira made it 2-1 in the 81st but that was as close as Betis came. Resino, a former Atletico Madrid coach, took over promoted Granada earlier this week after Fabricio Gonzalez was fired following a three-game losing streak. "The feelings are good, but we saw a little of everything today," said Resino. "Weve been working together for just a week so we cant ask for big things." Valencia looked set to get its first win in four weeks when substitute Aritz Aduriz scored two second-half goals to cancel out Adrian Gonzalezs early opener for Racing. But defender Bernardo Espinosa headed home Racings equalizer in the 88th to split the points in a physical contest marked by another scary head-to-head collision. Racings Papakouly Diop and Valencias Mehmet Topal knocked heads with around 20 minutes to play, leaving Diop temporarily unconscious on the pitch before being substituted. Topal was also taken off on a stretcher. Racings Pedro Munitis and Valencias Ricardo Costa were both sent off late with second bookings for a spat near the end of the match. Also, Getafe dealt Levante its second home loss of the season with a 2-1 win. Sevilla is at Malaga later, while Atletico Madrid visits Osasuna on Monday. On Saturday, Real Madrid moved seven points clear at the top of table with a 3-1 win over last-place Zaragoza and Barcelonas 0-0 draw at Villarreal. Also, Fernando Llorente scored a hat trick to give Athletic Bilbao a 3-0 win at Rayo Vallecano, and Espanyol edged 10-man Mallorca 1-0. Bilbao visits third-tier Mirandes on Tuesday in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semifinal. Valencia hosts Barcelona in the other series opening game on Wednesday. Carl Bradford Jersey . The top-ranked Czech Republic will visit Canada for a first-round tie Feb. 7-8, 2015. "This will be our first World Group tie and the team knows that no matter who the opponent, it will be a very talented team that is one of the best in the world," Canadas Fed Cup captain Sylvain Bruneau said in a release. Bryan Bulaga Womens Jersey . His agent told TSN that the deal is "virtually done" and will be official in the next day or two. The news comes with Torontos season opener set for this Saturday on the road against the Seattle Sounders (TSN, 4:30pm et/1:30pm pt).SPOKANE, Wash. - Mitch Holmberg scored his 62nd goal of the season in regulation and then scored in the shootout as the Spokane Chiefs edged the visiting Tri-City Americans 4-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League action. KANSAS CITY, Kan. Sam Shields Super Bowl Packers Jersey . -- Graham Zusi and Jozy Altidore scored second-half goals to give the United States a 2-0 victory over Jamaica on Friday night and clinch first place for the Americans in their World Cup qualifying group for the third straight cycle. The sides had played to a stalemate through the first 77 minutes before Alejandro Bedoya got the ball on the wing. He crossed to Zusi, whose shot from about 12 yards beat goalkeeper DuWayne Kerr and ignited his home-team crowd of 18,467 decked out in red, white and blue. Fans packed into Sporting Park had barely settled back down before Edgar Castillo, like Zusi a second-half substitute, found Altidore in front of an open net for another goal in the 81st minute. Altidore scored for his sixth straight international start. The U.S. (6-2-1), which clinched its seventh straight World Cup berth last month, has 19 points in North and Central American and Caribbean qualifying and a four-point lead over second-place Costa Rica (4-2-3), which lost 1-0 at third-place Honduras (4-3-2). Jamaica (0-5-4), whose only World Cup appearance was in 1998, was eliminated. Zusi, who stars for Sporting KC, had entered at the start of the second half for Landon Donovan and was cheered wildly by his home fans. He returned the passion after he scored his second international goal, pumping his fist and celebrating with his teammates. Altidore extended his own team record by scoring in his sixth straight games. The goal was his eighth of the year and his fourth in World Cup qualifiers. It was another bitter defeat to the U.S. for Jamaica, which lost 2-1 on June 7 in Kingston when Brad Evans scored in second-half stoppage time. The Reggae Boyz fell to 1-13-8 against the U.S., including 1-5-6 in qualifiers. Still alive at the onset -- at least mathematically -- Jamaica pressed the attack in the opening minutes, dominating possession and pestering goalkeeper Tim Howard. Demar Phillips sent a free kick toward the goal that Howard got his mitts on, and Evans managed to clear it just before Darren Mattocks could get his foot on it in front of an open goal. Jamaica had precious few decent scoring looks the rest of the night. The U.S. won despite missing several key players due to injuries. Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey and Fabian Johnson were unavailable, Omar Gonzalez sustained a hip strain just before he was due to join the national team, and forward Eddie Johnson strained his left groin in training Wednesday. That gave coach Jurgen Klinsmann a chance to give several younger players a look, including Aron Johannsson, who played for Icelands under-21 team and made his U.S. debut in August. Evans was back after missing the Mexico match with a strained calf muscle, and Altidore, Matt Besler and Geoff Cameron were back after serving suspensions for yellow-card accumulation. NOTES: The U.S. finished 8-0 in home qualifiers this cycle, outscoring opponents 8-0 on American soil in the hexagonal. The Americans are 25-0-2 in home qualifiers since a 2001 loss to Honduras. Paul Hornung Super Bowl Packers Jersey . Bradley Johnson headed Norwich in front early in the second half before captain Sebastien Bassong was adjudged to have fouled substitute John Guidetti inside the penalty box. Mike Neal Jersey . Madrid lost Cristiano Ronaldo to injury early in the match and failed to create any clear scoring chances after the Portugal forwards exit. His team now trails city and Champions League final rival Atletico Madrid by four points with two games to play. SEVILLE, Spain -- Barbora Zahlavova and Andrea Hlavackova put the Czech Republic into the Fed Cup semifinals after winning the final doubles point against Spain on Monday. The Czechs rallied from a 2-1 deficit to play Italy in the last four for the second consecutive year following a 7-6 (7), 6-3 victory over Carla Suarez Navarro and Silvia Soler-Espinosa. Rain wreaked havoc on the weekend schedule, forcing the first-round tie to a third day. Corey Linsley Super Bowl Packers Jersey. Suarez Navarro put Spain up 2-1 on Monday following her second singles victory. Lucie Safarova returned to the court to keep Czech hopes alive with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 win over Soler-Espinosa. The visitors seized the momentum in the deciding rubber of the best-of-five tie by winning the first-set tiebreaker on the clay. Germany and Australia meet in the other semifinal, which will be played on April 19-20. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' ' |

SYRACUSE, N. cheap jerseys from china .Y. -- Olivier Hanlan and Patrick Heckmann hit 3-pointers in overtime, Lonnie Jackson made four straight free throws in the final 26.2 seconds, and lowly Boston College stunned top-ranked Syracuse 62-59 on Wednesday night, ending the Oranges unbeaten season. "It was an emotional game for us," BC coach Steve Donahue said after his first Carrier Dome win in eight tries against the Orange. "Its been incredible for these guys to persevere. Weve played well in a lot of games." The Eagles came to town with heavy hearts and a good dose of determination. Longtime basketball media contact and sports information assistant Dick Kelley died last week after a two-year battle with ALS. His funeral was Tuesday and the Eagles, who often visited his apartment, were wearing "DK" patches on their uniforms. "The patch on our chests, toward the end of the game it was like, We cant be denied. DK is looking down on us. Hes got us," said Ryan Anderson. "Its real emotional. Its really going to set in in a couple of hours." Boston College (7-19, 3-10 Atlantic Coast Conference), which had lost five straight, rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to pull off the improbable upset. Syracuse (25-1, 12-1) travels to No. 5 Duke on Saturday night for a rematch of their overtime instant classic on Feb. 1. The loss leaves No. 3 Wichita State (28-0), which beat Loyola of Chicago 88-74 on Wednesday night, as the lone unbeaten in Division I. The Eagles, whose only conference wins this season were over Virginia Tech, beat a No. 1-ranked team for the third time and first since knocking off then-No. 1 North Carolina in 2009. Syracuse, which had won its last two games by a combined three points, shot a season-low 32.2 per cent from the field including going 2 of 12 from 3-point range, its sputtering offence unable to pull off another miracle finish. "When you get in enough of these games, theres going to be one youre not going to make a play. Thats what happens," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said. "At the end of games, you get into enough of these games, youre not going to win. "Im really happy that weve won 25 games," Boeheim said. "We cant think about that. Weve got to think about what we have to going forward. Weve really got to get better, and I think we will. Its been an unbelievable run, Ive never seen anything like it before. Its remarkable what theyve done." Tied at 50 after two halves played at Boston Colleges deliberate pace, Hanlan and Heckmann hit from long range to give BC a 56-52 lead with 2:56 left, but Tyler Ennis driving layup knotted the score at 56 with 2:09 to play. A free throw by Ennis, from Brampton, Ont., gave the Orange a one-point lead, but Heckmanns backdoor layup put the Eagles back in front with 43.5 seconds left. After a timeout, Ennis threw a pass toward C.J. Fair in the right corner that sailed out of bounds. After the officials initially ruled it was Syracuses ball a video review with 32.5 seconds left re-affirmed the call. It didnt matter when Fair missed a drive and Jackson sealed the victory with his clutch free throws. Hanlan finished with 20 points and Jackson had 10. Anderson had nine points and 14 rebounds, but the Eagles won it by going 11 of 22 from behind the arc. They committed 15 turnovers, three after halftime. Fair finished with 20 points on 7-of-23 shooting and had 11 rebounds. Ennis had 14 points and six assists and Jerami Grant finished with 11 points. Syracuse won 58-56 at Pittsburgh a week ago and 56-55 over North Carolina State in the Carrier Dome on Saturday night -- as the Orange had walked a tightrope much of the season. Grants spinning layup on a drive through the lane gave Syracuse a 50-48 lead with 77 seconds left in regulation, but Hanlan tied it with a layup 30 seconds later. After a timeout, Ennis missed a layup attempt but snared his own rebound and Boeheim called a timeout with 20 seconds left to set up a final shot. But Rakeem Christmas missed a hook in the lane just before the buzzer to force overtime. BC was called for two shot-clock violations in the final 5 minutes, squandering a chance to win it in regulation. BC figured to attack the Syracuse zone inside-out with Jackson leading the ACC in shooting at 50 per cent (34 of 68) from behind the arc and Joe Rahon and Hanlan each with 21 3-pointers. Eddie Odio averaging 42.4 per cent from long range, also started. BC trailed by eight points at halftime and by as many 13 in the second half before its outside game came alive. Hanlan hit three from behind the arc and Rahon had two in a 7-minute span to key a 21-8 spurt, and Andersons layup tied it at 41-all with 8:15 left. A 3 by Rahon from the left corner made it 46-42 with 6:09 to go. Syracuse tied it at 46 on Ennis driving layup with 5:09 left, but he committed a turnover on the ensuing possession and Heckmanns layup put BC back in front 48-46 at 3:30. The Orange tied it at 48 on a free throw by Christmas with 2:23 to play. Syracuse started badly, missing its first seven shots and falling behind 7-2 as Jackson drained two 3s in the first 5 minutes. Fair notched the Oranges first basket on a reverse layup at 14:19. Fair, Syracuses leading scorer, had eight of the Oranges first 12 points, but half those points were on free throws as he missed eight of his first 10 shots. Syracuse shot 34.5 per cent (10 of 29) and missed all six attempts from long range in the first half. Grants three-point play gave Syracuse a 25-17 lead at halftime as the Orange held Boston Colleges top scorers in check. Hanlan was 1 of 5 from the field and Anderson 1 of 4. The Orange boosted the lead to 33-20 on Ennis 3 from the wing with 17:25 left. Syracuse won at Boston College a little more than a month ago. The Orange trailed 51-46 with just over 10 minutes to play, then took advantage of their size inside during a 16-1 run over a span of less than 4 minutes and won 69-59. wholesale jerseys . The Astros took two of three after losing 15 straight series to the Rangers. Houston overcame a four-run deficit to win. DexterFowler singled with one out in the ninth, JasonCastro drew a walk and Dominguez hit a long fly ball off Nick Martinez (0-1). cheap jerseys . -- DwyaneWade was a late scratch from the Miami Heats starting lineup against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night because of nerve irritation in his left foot, leaving his status for the All-Star game in doubt.FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Big Papi is staying put. DavidOrtiz and the Red Sox agreed to a 2015 contract Sunday with options for the following two years, a move that means the popular slugger will probably finish his career in Boston. Ortiz, the World Series MVP last season, has led the Red Sox to three championships in the past 10 years. He batted .309 with 30 home runs and 103 RBIs in 137 games last season after missing all of spring training while rehabbing a strained Achilles tendon. The 38-year-old designated hitter has 431 major league homers and has made nine All-Star teams in 11 years with Boston. The Red Sox announced the deal Sunday night. It includes a club or vesting option for 2016, and a club option for 2017. "With this agreement, we have near certainty that DavidOrtiz will finish his career in a Red Sox uniform, which is something we have all wanted and that we are all proud of," owner John Henry said in a statement. "It is difficult to describe Davids contributions to our city both on the field and off the field, and we are so proud to have this ambassador of our game with us as he continues on this road to Cooperstown." Multiple media outlets reported earlier that the sides had reached an agreement that guarantees Ortiz $16 million in 2015. He is set to earn $15 million this season as part of a two-year contract he signed in November 2012. The team said Ortiz, manager John Farrell and general manager Ben Cherington would be aavailable to the media Monday in Sarasota before the Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles. cheap nfl jerseys. Big Papi batted .353 with five home runs and 13 RBIs in the 2013 post-season. He hit a clutch grand slam that swung the AL championship series against Detroit, then punctuated his performance with a dominant World Series against St. Louis. He went 11 for 16 (.688) with two homers, six RBIs and eight walks to leave him with the best World Series batting average (.455), on-base percentage (.576) and slugging percentage (.795) among players with at least 50 plate appearances. Ortiz ranked third in the majors with a .564 slugging percentage last season, and his .972 OPS over the past three years trails only MiguelCabrera (1.036). Ortiz is a .287 career hitter with 520 doubles and 1,429 RBIs in 17 big league seasons with the Twins and Red Sox. He was voted MVP of the 2004 AL championship series, leading Bostons unprecedented comeback from a 3-0 deficit against the rival New York Yankees. By then, Red Sox fans had fallen in love with Big Papi. By now, hes joined the pantheon of Bostons most-beloved sports stars, a group that includes the likes of Bobby Orr, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Tom Brady and Ted Williams. Since arriving in Boston in 2003, Ortiz ranks second among major league hitters in slugging percentage (.572) to AlbertPujols (.601). Big Papi also has 11 career game-ending homers in the regular season, more than any other active player. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' ' |

KANSAS CITY, Mo. http://www.chinaauthenticjerseys.us/ . - The Royals have agreed to terms with reliever AaronCrow on a $1.475 million, one-year deal that leaves GregHolland as their only unsigned arbitration-eligible player. The deal includes a $50,000 bonus if Crow is an All-Star, which he was in 2011. Crow had asked for $1.7 million and the Royals offered the same $1.28 million he made last year. Crow went 7-5 with a 3.38 ERA in 57 games last season. The former first-round pick is 14-10 with a 3.19 ERA in his three-year career. Holland, coming off his first All-Star appearance, asked for $5.2 million and the Royals offered $4.1 million. He made $539,000 last year, when he was 2-1 with a 1.21 ERA and 47 saves. Arbitration hearings begin this weekend and run through Feb. 21. chinaauthenticjerseys.us . There is also the Genoa derby on Sunday, while second-place Roma hosts Parma looking to take advantage of any more slip-ups from Juventus. Here are five things to know about the Italian league ahead of this weekends matches: LLORENTE ON SONGThe last time Juventus hosted Inter Milan the visitors ended the Bianconeris impressive streak of 49 games unbeaten with a 3-1 victory. www.chinaauthenticjerseys.us .J. -- New Jersey agreed with PetrSykora to terms of a one-year deal on Wednesday, completing the former Devils bid to return to the NHL after an 18-month absence. While MaxPacioretty was celebrated for having scored the game-winning goal of the series, the Montreal Canadiens can actually attribute the work of their third and fourth lines as the key contributors for their first round sweep of the Tampa Bay Lightning. There is no argument that the line of Pacioretty, DavidDesharnais and ThomasVanek was one of the hottest in the NHL leading into the post-season, and they did combine for three goals and seven points, but it was the depth of all four lines that helped propel Montreal. It started in Game 1, where the fourth line took control, led by playoff veteran DanielBriere, and capped off with the overtime winner by DaleWeise. Along with MichaelBournival, the trio tallied two goals and five points in the series with a plus-4 rating. Solid numbers for a fourth line that features a centreman who now has 51 career playoff goals and 111 points in 112 games. Briere showed this series why his off-season signing to help bring playoff experience can be very beneficial to the Canadiens. The checking line of BrandonPrust, TomasPlekanec and BrendanGallagher added their share of offence with the energetic Gallagher leading the Habs in playoff scoring with three goals and five points. His line had five goals and nine points. Despite the balanced attack, the big story of the series was the resurgence of ReneBourque and LarsEller, two players who found themselves in chateau bow-wow on more than one occasion this season, and their lack of production earnedd them some time in the press box as healthy scratches. www.chinaauthenticjerseys.us/. . Yet Bourque found the style of game that Michel Therrien has wanted from him all season long, and after finding success, built his confidence as the series wore on. Last season, Eller was the Canadiens best forward heading into the playoffs with Ottawa, before he was knocked out of the series. This time around, Eller had started to pick up his play over his final few games of the regular season, prior to missing a pair of games with the flu. He and Bourque have both used the post-season as a chance to hit the reset button on their seasons, and so far so good. That line which includes captain BrianGionta, who added a critical shorthanded goal in the series, led the Habs with six goals, 11 points and a plus-11 rating, showing they were responsible on both sides of the puck. So often, playoff success is based on a balanced attack and the chance for a different hero each night. While this series saw big saves from CareyPrice, some excellent plays and big minutes from PK Subban, a solid defensive job on StevenStamkos done by the Habs blue line, especially JoshGorges, the series win can really be attributed to depth. Now the Canadiens will have a week or so off before facing either Boston or Detroit in the second round. Again, Michel Therrien will have a balancing act to work on; the balance between rest and preparation for your next opponent, while ensuring the Canadiens stay game sharp and not lose the momentum built from the first round. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china' ' ' |

Just once before he got on the ice at the age of 12 for an intermission pee-wee shootout, and then Monday night at the age of 28 the Los Angeles Kings goaltender made a much more memorable appearance. Quick shut out the Rangers 3-0 to put his team up three games to none in the Stanley Cup final and one victory away from a second title in three years. "You make one save and then you try to make the next," Quick said with little excitement in his voice after arguably his best performance in these playoffs. "We had a lot of guys that block shots, clear rebounds. Our (penalty kill) was very good tonight, possibly the difference in the game. You just make one save at a time and try to get ready for the next one." Of Quicks 32 saves, two of them stuck out. In the first period he got his stick on a shot by MatsZuccarello that went off the post and was bound to deflect in, and in the second he extended his paddle to get a piece of DerickBrassards offering that couldve been just what the Rangers needed to get back into the game and perhaps the series. Quick couldnt remember what happened on either one. It was hard for anyone else to forget. "Hes one goalie that can save those kind of things," Kings defenceman DrewDoughty said. "Not to say that we expect those saves from him, but were so used to seeing them because they happen so often that its just normal business." After watching Quick win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP during Los Angeless 2012 Cup run, DustinBrown isnt even in awe anymore. The Kings captain used to look up at the video board to figure out just how the puck stayed out of the net, but now he doesnt even bother. "The best example is playing at the Olympics and seeing other guys react to it and Im just sitting there because Ive played with him long enough and hes made enough of those saves you kind of expect him to do it," Brown said. "Its not shocking by any means. Hes been doing this all playoffs." Quick hadnt been doing quite this in these playoffs. Monday night was just his second shutout in 24 games this post-season, but it was the ninth of his NHL career. His stats during this run -- a 2.80 goals-against average and .906 save percentage going into Monday -- were hardly dazzling, but teammates were eager to give him credit for what had transpired before his masterful Game 3 showing. "All I know is everyones talking about Quickie and hes a big, big part of the reason were here because he is a goaltender that makes big saves at big times," Brown said. Quick did need some help and got it with goals from JeffCarter, JakeMuzzin and MikeRichards. Carters goal with 0.7 seconds left in the first period stunned the sellout crowd of 18,000-plus in the first Cup final game at the Garden in 20 years. Carters seemingly innocent flick of a shot deflected off the skate of diving Rangers defenceman DanGirardi before going in off HenrikLundqvists glove. "I was reacting low and it went high," Lundqvist said. "Its just one of those plays where, with a little luck there that puck ends up in the netting or the glass. Unfortunately, half a second left and it ended up in our net. It was a tough play." That goal marked the first lead for the Kings since Game 6 of the Western Conference final against the Chicago Blackhawks. Los Angeles came back from two-goal deficits to win Games 1 and 2 at Staples Center. "It was a little bit easier scoring first, obviously," centre AnzeKopitar said. "Scoring at 0.7 left the first takes a little bit of wind out of their sails and energizes us." A rash of high-sticking penalties by the Rangers early in the second period didnt help, and MarcStaals led to Muzzins power-play goal. With MartinSt.Louis trying to get his body in front of Muzzins shot from the point, the puck instead went off the Rangers winger and past Lundqvist 4:17 into the second period. Fans tried to generate some noise off the face-off, and the Rangers followed with plenty of chances to get back into the game. The power-play unit that entered the night 1-for-8 in the series managed some sustained pressure but came up empty thanks to Quicks brilliance. New York finished 0-for-6 on the power play in Game 3. Asked what went wrong in general, coach Alain Vigneault answered only: "We couldnt score." When Lundqvist was asked what happened, the usually charming media darling fired back: "Better question." What happened in the second period was the Rangers fell behind 3-0 as Richards got a two-on-one with TrevorLewis, banked his initial shot off RyanMcDonagh and buried his second to put the Kings in cruise control. Despite 15 multi-goal comebacks already in these playoffs, an NHL record, a three-goal deeficit looked daunting even as the Rangers out-shot the Kings 32-15 overall because Quick appeared unbeatable. wholesale nfl jerseys. Ultimately, he was. "He was obviously the best player on the ice tonight," Vigneault said of Quick. "Give them credit. They found a way to put the puck past our real good goaltender and we couldnt do it." MarianGaborik, playing his first game back at the Garden since the Rangers traded him to the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2013 deadline, called Quick the Kings "cornerstone" Monday night. Doughty termed him their "backbone" all the time. Monday night was a reminder of that to anyone who forgot how good Quick can be at his best. "I dont think he has to remind us too many times," Kopitar said. "We know what hes capable of. Thats why we love having him back there." Twice in Game 3 he made saves that earn him that kind of love and admiration and a place on highlight reels. At the 12:37 mark of the first, Zuccarello had a no-doubt goal from just in front, but his shot hit the post and then Quicks before going wide. "It was an empty-net goal, and he got a piece of it," Brown said. "That allowed us to get our legs going and not fall behind early." Quicks most spectacular of the night came 10:22 into the second on Brassards offering from the side of the net. A cross ice pass forced Quick to go full extension, and with his paddle almost parallel to the ice he kept it out. "It looked from the bench like the guy just missed it, but you look at the replay and he gets a piece of it," Brown said. "He has a different style than all the other goalies in the league. Hes just quick and he gets post-to-post faster than any goalie in the whole entire league." Now one victory away from a second championship in three years, Quick isnt a strong Conn Smythe candidate this time around. But in dominating against the Rangers on Monday night, he put the Kings on the verge of recapturing the trophy they really care about. "Hes still been very sharp for us and hes been a huge key for our success without a doubt," Doughty said. "Maybe he didnt have to stand on his head like he did in 2012 but tonight I thought he stood on his head." NOTES -- Neither team made any lineup changes from Game 2, which meant that Kings defenceman RobynRegehr missed his 16th straight game with injury. David LeNevu again served as the Rangers backup goalie with CamTalbot (undisclosed) still out. ... A handful of celebrities were featured on the arenas video screens, including New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire, late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon and actors Bryan Cranston and Robert De Niro. That dampened the enthusiasm of a crowd that included more than a few people who paid a premium to attend. Tickets on the secondary market were going for over US$1,000. As their realistic chances of making it a series hung in the balance, the Rangers didnt put together a season-saving performance. After falling behind, New York picked up two straight high-sticking penalties that could have been worse had defenceman MarcStaal not gotten away with an extra one on Kings captain DustinBrown. Staals offensive-zone high-sticking penalty that did get called led to the Kings second goal of the night. The 2012 Conn Smythe Trophy winners best save of Game 3 came just after a New York power play expired, when he got his stick on what should have been a gimme goal for DerickBrassard at the side of the net. While Quick made saves look easy, Lundqvist got a break. The Kings didnt manage a shot on net for more than nine minutes in the second period. When they got back on track, it didnt take long to suck the rest of the air out of the Garden. With TrevorLewis accompanying him on a two-on-one rush, Richards took an initial shot that hit Rangers defenceman RyanMcDonagh, and the Kings forward buried the second offering to make it 3-0 at 17:14. A record 15 multi-goal comebacks have meant no lead is safe in these playoffs. But Quicks stellar play ensured this would not be the 16th. PHOENIX -- PrinceFielders departure from Milwaukee is MatGamels big chance. Ahmad Bradshaw Colts Jersey . The 26-year-old converted third baseman is slated to become the Brewers starting first baseman this season. "Im not trying to replace him," he said of Fielder. "Im not trying to be in his shadow. Im just trying to come do what I do." So far this spring training, hes looked promising. Gamel was drafted as a third baseman, but moved to first base last year for two reasons: He wasnt a particularly good defensive third baseman and Milwaukee was preparing for the possibility of Fielder leaving as a free agent after the 2011 season. With Fielder in Detroit, first base is Gamels job to lose. "When he was a third baseman, he was OK with third base, the throwing got him in trouble more than anything," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "But, as far as moving and catching the ball, hes always been pretty good at that." Roenicke acknowledges that there is still pressure on Gamel, though. "I think there is," Roenicke said. "Its hard to imagine a young guy whose going to take over that position to not to feel a little bit of pressure there. "Were trying to make it as easy as possible for him because its not fair to put the pressure as though youre stepping in for Prince or you going to be able to handle it, thats not fair to do that to him" Prior to the 2011 season, Gamel had started five career minor-league games at first. "I know last year, they were happy with his progress there, and he was improving all the time," Roenicke said of the reports he was getting. "What Ive seen down here (is) pretty good." Roenicke added the more experience Gamel gets, the better the team will be there. "The only thing about Prince is, he paid attention. He had the experience of being there. He wasnt caught out of position very often which comes with experience that Gamel doesnt have." If Gamel can help make up for the offence Milwaukee lost when Fielder signed with the Tigers, what he does in the field might not matter much. A left-handed hitter like Fielder, Gamel had four previous stints with the Brewers, who drafted him in the 2005. His longest stretch was in 2009 when he appeared in 61 games. In the minors last season, he batted .310 with 28 home runs and 96 RBI in 128 games. As a major leaguer, he has a .222 average with five home runs and 23 RBIs. Two other spots on the Brewers infield have new starters this season. The Brewers signed free agents AramisRamirez to play third and AlexGonzalez shortstop. Heading into the season, Ramirez, Gonzalez and second baseman RickieWeeks have 31 years of major-league experience to Gamels one. "Just from practice, it seems like we all work well together," he said. "So, its just going to take time us playing together, and getting used to how each other plays." Just in case, the Brewers are having 6-foot-6 right-fielder CoreyHart play some first base during spring training. Gamel understands that and doesnt view Hart as a threat. He might sit against a tough left-handed pitcher. "Why should it bother me?" Gamel said. "Its just another position for him to work at. Im not approaching it like hes coming in trying to play first base or hes coming over here to potentially take a job from me." NOTES: Roenicke said that right-hander ShaunMarcum would be backed off a day on his throwing routine due to a touch of bursitis. Roenicke added that it was not as bad as it was last year. "He says he has it every spring," Roenicke said. Marcum said it wasnt an issue and wouldnt disrupt anything. "Nobody needs seven starts to get ready, usually five or six is plenty," he said. "I think everybody gets aches and pains and soreness. Its just part of the job. Its not a problem. Were just being cautious. No need to try to be a hero." Reggie Wayne Jersey .C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats said head coach Steve Clifford underwent a successful procedure Friday to have two stents placed in his heart. Trent Richardson Jersey . Gooden is expected to sign the deal and join the team in time for Thursdays game against the Toronto Raptors.Invited to camp on a professional tryout after posting back-to-back 10-goal seasons, MasonRaymond was looked at as someone who could hopefully fill a bottom-six forward role. After 21 games, Raymond has not only proven to be one of the Leafs biggeest surprises but also one of their top players. Jonathan Newsome Colts Jersey. Sociedad remained in sixth place with Villarreal a point behind in seventh, both in Europa League spots and in striking distance of fourth place and the final Champions League berth. Sociedad forward Carlos Vela chipped goalkeeper Jaime Jimenez after receiving an equally exquisite lobbed pass from Ruben Pardo to set him up in the 23rd minute at Anoeta Stadium. It was Velas 12th goal in league play this campaign. "The truth is we didnt play a good game, but we won," said Sociedad coach Jagoba Arrasate, whose team struggled to control possession in the second half and needed goalie Claudio Bravo to secure the three points by denying Carlos Pena in the 57th. "We have players capable of doing things like that great goal, and that makes everything easiier," Arrasate said. www.chinaauthenticjerseys.us/. Jeremy Perbet slotted in Villarreals winner in the fifth after he received the ball with his back to the goal and deftly turned to shoot around his marker. Two seeds bowed out here on Tuesday, as Russian Mikhail Youzhny drilled No. 4 Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-3, 6-2 and Spains Marcel Granollers grounded No. 5 Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-3, 6-1. Former world No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain advanced with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) victory over tough Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci. Additional first-round wins came for the aforementioned Zhang, Croat Ivan Ljubicic, Spaniard Albert Montanes, German qualifier Phillip Kohlschreiber and Italian Fabio Fognini. The former top-four star Ljubicic topped Russian lucky-loser Teymuraz Gabashvili 7-5, 7-5, while Kohlschreiber beat fading former top-5 Spaniard Tommy Robredo 6-3, 7-6 (7-0). Gabashvili replaced seventh-seeded John Isner in the draw after the big American pulled out with an abdominal strain. The 2011 Beijing titlist will claim $505,000. Julius Peppers Jersey . The Trail Blazers lead the first-round series 3-2 entering Game 6 on Friday in Portland. A basket by DamianLillard got the Trail Blazers within two points before JamesHarden stepped back and swished a 3-pointer to make it 103-98 with about three minutes left. Brad Jones Super Bowl Jersey .4 million contract extension. Garbutt has a career-high 18 points with 10 goals and eight assists in 46 games this season.Providence, RI (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Arcidiaconos layup and foul shot -- the last of his team-high 21 points -- with 3.6 seconds remaining was the deciding margin, as No. 9 Villanova kept rolling with a 82-79 double-OT decision against Providence on Tuesday. Arcidiacono, a threat from the outside, was instead allowed room on the left wing and banked the go-ahead bucket off the glass while being harmed by Kadeem Batts. Quick ball movement off the inbound put the game in the hands of LaDontae Henton, but his try from the left wing to send the game to a third overtime clanged off the front of the rim. JayVaughn Pinkston totaled 20 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats (23-3, 11-2 Big East), who received 17 points and nine boards from James Bell. Villanova pulled into a tie atop the conference with idle Creighton, who whipped the Cats, 101-80, in Omaha on Sunday. Bryce Cotton tallied a game-best 22 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Friars (17-10, 7-7). Batts picked up 21 points and 11 boards, with Josh Fortune adding 16 points in a valiant, losing cause. A 13-2 run ending just before the middle portion of the first half turned a two-point deficit into a nine-point bulge for the Friars. Tyler Harris capped it on a trey to make it 22-13. Arcidiaconos triple capped a 15-7 surge from the Wildcats to pull them within 29-28, and he connected oonce more from long distance in the final seconds. Demetri Goodson Jersey. Cotton, though, hit two from the line to forge a 33-33 deadlock at the break. Nova provided some breathing room with a quick burst in the early stages of the second half, going up 44-39 just over six minutes in on a Daniel Ochefu slam. Villanova kept Providence at arms length from there, never letting the hosts climb closer than three until the final moments. Arcidiaconos two from the line provided a 63-58 edge for the Wildcats, but two free throws from Cotton and a three from Henton off a Bell miss evened the score with 20.6 seconds to go. Arcidiaconos last chance from beyond the arc came up short, and Hentons off- balance heave at the buzzer hit the rim. In the first extra session, Villanova erased a three-point deficit and went up by two on a Darrun Hilliard trey, but Cottons layup on the next trip down the floor evened the score. Arcidiacono missed an easy shot and the game slipped into a second OT. Game Notes: Villanova hosts St. Johns on Saturday, while Providence heads to Butler on Sunday ... Arcidiacono also totaled six rebounds and three steals, while Hilliard and Ochefu both finished with 11 points ... Fortune, who finished 4-of-5 from long range, also grabbed a game-high four steals ... The Wildcats connected on just 9-of-28 shots from beyond the arc in the triumph.cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' ' |

A spokesman for the Slovakian team told the Associated Press on Monday that forward TomasKopecky will miss the remainder of the Games with an upper body injury. Kopecky took a hit to the head from Sabahudin Kovacevic of Slovenia in Saturdays 3-1 loss. Though Kovacevic was not assessed a penalty on the play, he was suspended one game by the IIHF. Kopecky has four goals and eight assists in 49 games with the Panthers this season. He had no points in two games for Slovakia. The Panthers other Olympian, AleksanderBarkov is expected to miss four to six weeks after suffering a lower body injury playing for Finland. nfl jerseys china .B. -- Canadas Rachel Homan had ideal preparation for the playoffs at the Ford World Curling Championships with a pair of hard-fought wins over tenacious opponents Thursday. cheap jerseys . -- The Los Angeles Galaxy have signed coach Bruce Arena to a multi-year contract extension.LOS ANGELES -- PauGasol and SteveNash watched the entire fourth quarter from the bench. KobeBryant sat one row behind them in a black shirt and suit. The Lakers three veteran stars were spectators for one remarkable show put on by five Lakers reserves who werent ready to cede Los Angeles supremacy to their Staples Center rivals. XavierHenry scored a career-high 22 points, JordanFarmar added 16, and the Lakers surged past the Los Angeles Clippers in the final minutes for a 116-103 victory in both clubs season opener Tuesday night. By the time the Lakers reserves were done with BlakeGriffin and ChrisPaul, coach Doc Rivers Clippers debut was wrecked -- and so were many preconceptions about the Lakers prospects this season. The Lakers 76 bench points were the most in club history since March 1985. "Its not a bad thing to be the underdog sometimes," said JodieMeeks, who scored nine of his 13 points in the fourth quarter. "No expectations. We go out there and play hard. Whats the worst that can happen? We lose, and people say were no good?" The Lakers 41-point fourth quarter was downright stunning, but the identities of the players responsible for this exciting, free-flowing opener were even more jaw-dropping. "Mike (DAntoni) did a great thing: He didnt bring his starters back in," Rivers said. "There was a point where I was thinking: Please bring them back in." A team that was 28th in the NBA in reserve scoring last season got outstanding bench play from a five-man unit, including three guys who werent even on the team last season: WesleyJohnson, two-time NBA champion Farmar, and Henry, the former first-round pick who burned out in Memphis and New Orleans. A new season is a chance for a fresh start, and Henry needs one just as much as the Lakers. He scored 12 points in the fourth quarter while leading a 28-8 run. "Were a deep team, and people dont think were that good," Henry said. "That always fuels us. People are saying were going to finish 12th or whatever, but we have a great group of guys who go out there and play hard. Were young. Were athletic. We get after it." The long-established hoops hierarchy in Los Angeles flipped earlier this year: The Clippers won a division title and became veteran championship contenders, while the Lakers lost their stars to injury or free agency and prepared for a long rebuilding process. cheap nfl jerseys. At least in the opener, the Lakers flipped it again -- and embarrassed Rivers in the process. "We were not ready tonight," said Rivers, the longtime Celtics coach who hopes to push the Clippers into title contention. "(The Lakers) have heard for probably the last two months how good (the Clippers) were going to be ... so you knew that they were going to play like this was the world championship -- with that type of energy. And I thought we never matched it. Everything they did was harder than us and more physical than us. They destroyed us on the glass and destroyed us in turnovers. So it was a good lesson for us." Griffin scored 19 points and Paul had 15 points and 11 assists for the Clippers, who beat the Lakers four times last season on the way to their first Pacific Division title. DeAndreJordan added 17 points and 11 rebounds. "Youve got to give it to them. They outplayed us," Griffin said. "They did a good job. They were ready. They turned up the heat in the fourth quarter, and we didnt respond." Gasol scored 11 of his 15 points in the first quarter, and JordanHill added 12 points and eight rebounds as the Lakers improved to 42-24 on opening night, the best winning percentage in NBA history. After the off-season losses of DwightHoward and MettaWorldPeace, not much is expected from the Lakers. Yet they thrived for a night without Bryant, who missed a season opener for the first time since 2006. The fourth-leading scorer in NBA history hasnt returned to practice this fall after tearing his Achilles tendon late last season. The Clippers led 57-55 at halftime while hitting nearly 59 per cent of their shots. They pushed their lead to eight points in the third quarter, but the Lakers went ahead 86-83 with 9:06 to play on Meeks three-point play. "Oh, man, it seemed like it just happened so fast," Paul said. "Those guys executed their game plan, and when youre missing somebody like Kobe, you feed off that energy." NOTES: The evening began with a moment of silence for Bill Sharman, who died last week at 87. He coached the 1971-72 Lakers to their first championship in Los Angeles, winning an NBA-record 33 consecutive games along the way. ... ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have started filling out their defensive staff under new co-ordinator Jim Schwartz by hiring Pepper Johnson and Fred Pagac. Johnson takes over as defensive line coach, overseeing a group featuring three Pro Bowl selections, including MarioWilliams. Johnson stays in the AFC East after spending the past 14 seasons as a New England Patriots assistant. Pagac has 13 seasons of NFL coaching experience. He will coach linebackers -- the same role he held in seven of the past eight seasons with Minnesota. Both assistant coaches reached deals Friday, becoming the first additions to a retooled defensive staff under Schwartz, who was hired last week. Schwartz replaced co-ordinator Mike Pettine, who left to become head coach of the Cleveland Browns and took many of his assistants with him. SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San Jose Sharks squandered another chance to open up their lead over the Anaheim Ducks. TobiasEnstrom scored a power-play goal with 3:36 remaining in the third period to help the Winnipeg Jets deal a blow to San Joses chances to finish in first place by beating the Sharks 4-3 on Thursday night. "Weve let some teams that are not as good in the standings beat us and take points away, for whatever reason Im not sure," captain JoeThornton said. The Sharks have lost six games since the Olympic break, all to teams that would not be in the playoffs if the season ended now. San Jose still holds a two-point lead over Anaheim in the Pacific Division but the Ducks have three games in hand. "We cant give away points," forward JoePavelski said. "Weve given away a few too many lately. They got the games in hand. If they do their job theyll be there but theres still quite a bit of hockey left." DanBoyle, BrentBurns and LoganCouture scored for the Sharks, who have lost four of six. AnttiNiemi made 27 saves for San Jose. BlakeWheeler added a goal and two assists for the Jets, who trail Phoenix by nine points in the race for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. AndrewLadd and DustinByfuglien also scored, and AlMontoya made 27 saves. "We talked about the playoff race for the first time tonight," Jets coach Paul Maurice said. "Its a long hill to climb but this is the way we need to play every night." Couture scored the tying goal in the second period for San Jose but then committed the penalty that led to the game-winner when he shot the puck over the glass while trying to kill a penalty. The Sharks managed to kill 11 seconds of the 5-on-3 but couldnt kill the second penalty when Wheeler slid a pass to a pinching Enstrom, who beat Niemi. "Were a long shot coming into the building against arguably the best team in the league," Wheeler said. "We just tried to make one more play than they did and it worked out for us." The Jets took a 3-2 lead by scoring twice in the first 10 minutes of the secondd period.dddddddddddd The equalizer came early when Wheeler skated into the offensive zone and fired a bad-angle shot at Niemi from along the goal line that somehow sneaked into the net. Winnipeg took its first lead after Thornton negated a San Jose power play with a tripping penalty. Just seconds after PaulPostma came out of the box to give the Jets a power play, Wheeler slid a perfect pass to Byfuglien, who beat Niemi with a one-timer for his 20th goal. "Our power play was kind of sloppy but we were able to pull together a couple of times and set it up," Ladd said. "I wanted to come here, have a good effort and give ourselves a chance to win, and we did that." The Sharks tied it later in the second when they capitalized on another power-play chance. JamesSheppards slap shot deflected off Coutures thumb and into the net to give San Jose its fifth power-play goal in two games. Couture also got his 20th goal in his return to the lineup after missing one game with an injury from blocking a shot on Monday in Calgary. The Sharks opened the scoring less than 2 minutes into the game when Sheppard sent a pass from the point that deflected off Marty Havlats stick and right to Boyle, who beat Montoya with a backhand for his first goal in 30 games. The Jets answered just 36 seconds later when Ladd put in a rebound of MichaelFroliks shot for his 22nd goal. It came in Ladds first game back after missing Mondays tilt in Dallas for the birth of his daughter. "Theres a little bit of energy in the building, and bang its gone," Sharks coach Todd McLellan said. "They come right back down and score and we have to start all over. That was probably a bit of a turning point, may have been an indication of things to come." San Jose went back in front late in the period on Burns power-play goal. NOTES: Thornton became the 100th player to play in 1,200 career NHL games. ... Former Sharks F DevinSetoguchi was a healthy scratch for the Jets. ... The second-seeded Serb won his 17th straight match to capture his sixth title this season. Ferrer led 5-3 in each set, but Djokovic came back both times and clinched the victory when the Spaniard sent a forehand into the net. Djokovic, who still has a slim chance to finish the season ahead of No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the rankings, hit 34 winners to 15 for Ferrer and won 15 of 18 net points. Ferrer troubled Djokovic early in the match with his deep groundstrokes, and hit a backhand drop shot to break for a 3-2 lead. But Djokovic started playing more aggressively, and broke back in the 10th game with a forehand winner down the line. The Serb went a set up when Ferrers forehand sailed long. However, Djokovic dropped serve in the opening game of the second set and then needed to hit two straight forehand winners to save two break points at 2-0. Despite numerous backhand errors, Djokovic kept the pressure on Ferrer, who again failed to serve out the set at 5-4. PORTLAND, Ore. Calais Campbell Jersey . -- The semifinal victory over the rival Seattle Sounders was barely over when Portland Timbers supporters started chanting "Beat Salt Lake!" Making their first trip to the playoffs, the Timbers held off the late-charging Sounders 3-2 Thursday night to advance to Major League Soccers Western Conference final. The Timbers, who won the semifinal series against the rival Sounders 5-3 on aggregate, will face Real Salt Lake in the first of the two-leg conference final on Sunday in Salt Lake. RSL defeated the two-time defending MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 Thursday night to win the series 2-1 on aggregate. "Now were locked in," Timbers midfielder Will Johnson said. "Were in the zone." The victory extended Portlands winning streak at Jeld-Wen Field to 16 games. The Timbers went 11-1-5 at home in the regular season with their lone loss on March 9 to Montreal. They had an MLS record 11 shutouts at home this season. Portland pressured Seattle goalkeeper Michael Gspurning from the start. Rodney Wallace booted a shot that went just wide in the third minute, and Darlington Nagbe came close but went wide again in the 15th. Portland broke through when Johnson converted a penalty kick in the 29th minute to go up 1-0. Diego Valeri, who had appeared to injure his shin when he was fouled hard by Seattle defender Marc Burch, came back a few minutes later to score from a seemingly impossible angle just before the break. Valeri, who blew kisses to the crowd after his goal, was Portlands top scorer this season with 10 goals and 13 assists. "We were hoping to get out of the first half at 0-0," Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said. "That one coming right before halftime, the goal right before halftime, the goal right after halftime, is what killed us at the end of the day. For the first 45 minutes, hats off to them, they were much better than us." Futty Danso added a header for Portland in the 47th minute. The Sounders put up a fight, and DeAndre Yedlins goal in the 74th minute avoided the shutout. Eddie Johnson added another three minutes later to close the gap. The Sounders have been to the playoffs in each of the last five seasons. The Timbers, who joined MLS in 2011, are making their first trip. "Were getting closer," Portland coach Caleb Porter said. "And this team genuinely believes we have a realistic shot at this." The intense rivalry between the two clubs dates to 1975 when both were part of the North American Soccer league. For nearly a decade the teams have battled with the Vancouver Whitecaps for the supporter-created Cascadia Cup. While it was sweet to defeat the Sounders, Johnson said the Timbers didnt pay much attention to the hype. "To us, it was just another team that was in our way of getting to the next round," Johnson said. In the opening game on Saturday in Seattle, Ryan Johnson flicked in a header early in the first half and Nagbe added a goal in the second for the Timbers. Osvaldo Alonso scored late for the Sounders, who needed to win Thursday by at least two goals to become the fourth team to accomplish the comeback since the league went to the two-leg, aggregate-goal format for its conference semifinals in 2003. Seattle was without forward Lamar Neagle due to yellow card accumulations, but Yedlin started despite an ankle injury and forward Obafemi Martins was listed as a reserve after struggling with a groin injury. The Timbers finished the regular season in first place in the Western Conference at 14-5-15 overall. Their 23-point improvement from last season is the biggest turnaround in MLS history. The Sounders, who were 15-12-7, defeated the Colorado Rapids in the knockout round to advance to the semifinals. Schmid said he was aware that some Seattle supporters were calling for a coaching change. "I dont want to walk away. I know theres probably people out there that would like me to walk away," he said. "I think theres a good base of talent, theres a good base of people we can work with next year, but theres improvements, and theres changes we have to make." Matt Bryant Jersey . Sopoaga hit the upright with his first shot at goal from 15 metres. He then kicked nine goals in succession -- two conversions and seven penalties -- before being replaced in the 62nd minute, three points short of the Highlanders record for most points in a match. Ted Ginn Jr Jersey . Parmelee hit a game-ending shot in the ninth inning and the Minnesota Twins overcame DavidOrtizs big night to beat the Boston Red Sox 8-6 on Tuesday.SANTOS, Brazil -- Canadas Richard Weinberger won a bronze medal Sunday in the mens 10-kilometre race at a marathon swimming World Cup. "To be racing side by side and keeping pace with a guy like Spiros was exhilarating," he said. "There is still a long journey ahead but with continued serious training and hard work I feel that one day I can surpass him." Weinberger, 21, was coming off a strong 2011 campaign that was highlighted by a victory on the Olympic course at a test event iin London. Jim Kelly Jersey. ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins have signed quarterback ColtMcCoy. McCoy signed his contract Thursday, giving the Redskins a new potential No. 3 quarterback to replace RexGrossman. Grossman is a free agent after playing behind RobertGriffin III and KirkCousins the last two seasons. McCoy could also complete for the No. 2 spot if the Redskins decide to trade Cousins. McCoy was a third-round draft pick in 2010 by the Cleveland Browns. He started 21 games his first two seasons but has since been a backup. He played last year with San Francisco, appearing in four games and throwing one pass. BARCELONA, Spain -- An equalizer from Neymar saw Barcelona salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday after a stunning opener by Diego Ribas in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal. Atleticos chances were dealt a major blow half an hour in when striker Diego Costa came off injured, while Barcelona had lost defender Gerard Pique to injury before that. But Diego Ribas, who replaced Costa, stunned the Camp Nou 56 minutes in with a powerful shot from about 25 metres (yards) that grazed the fingertips of goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto as it soared into the top corner. With Lionel Messi kept quiet by Atleticos well-organized defence, Neymar stepped up to curl the equalizer around goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the 71st. Courtois made a number of acrobatic stops after that to preserve the draw, including in the 85th when he tipped Messis free kick around the post. "They played a good game and they made it very hard for us to create chances," Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez said. "We have to try and score in the return -- this was not a good result for us." Atletico, which leads Barcelona by a single point in the Spanish league, leaves with a valuable away goal before the return on April 9. In Tuesdays other quarterfinal first leg, defending champion Bayern Munich drew 1-1 at Manchester United. For the fourth time this season, neither team emerged victorious but Atletico returns to the Vicente Calderon buoyed by its performance after having lost its top player to a hamstring injury that could sideline him from the second leg. Pique has already been ruled out with a hairline fracture of his right hip. "This is a team of men, who play with heart and pride, who never give up," Atletico coach Diego Simeone said. "Im happy because we can compete with them. Im very happy because we are in this." While Piques exit hurt Barcelonas brittle defence, Dieggo Costas injury left the visitors without their leading scorer and scrambling for options off the bench with Raul Garcia suspended.dddddddddddd Diego Ribas was the lone option. Striker David Villa had Atleticos best scoring chances in the first half as the former Barcelona forward curled wide a clear opportunity from inside the area five minutes in -- before forcing Pinto into a diving stop just before halftime. Between those efforts, Barcelona dominated possession, with Diego Godins sliding block keeping Andres Iniestas effort out before Diego Costa pulled up clutching his right thigh. Atleticos physical play proved wearing for Barcelona, and pressured Pinto into errant goal kicks like the one that gave Villa his opening opportunity. Courtois was alert to a Messi header to keep it scoreless at the break, but Atletico regrouped and emerged for the restart to stun the hosts with Diego Ribas opener. Neymar and Messi failed to link up on a cross in the 65th, as Atleticos back four continued to make life difficult for the Spanish champions -- until Iniesta spotted Neymars run and the Brazil striker curled his shot around Courtois. Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino brought Alexis Sanchez on for Cesc Fabregas and shifted Neymar to the left side. The extra attacking player clearly helped as Iniesta threaded a perfect ball into the area for the Brazil striker to equalize. The goal lifted the Camp Nou crowd and turned the tables on Atletico. But Courtois settled his teams nerves by making a diving save to Iniestas long-range shot in the 73rd minute, before then stopping a late effort from Messi. "Its going to be such a hard game against a great opponent. Its going to be a very passionate game," Simeone said before calling on his players to seize the opportunity should Diego Costa not be available. "Its up to the team and the players to respond and make up for his (possible) absence." cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' ' |

Denker threw for 275 touchdowns and two touchdowns and the Wildcats had an easy time in a 42-19 victory over the Eagles in the Advocare V100 Bowl on Tuesday. It was another impressive performance for Carey in what might be his final college game. The 5-foot-10, 207-pound junior topped 100 yards rushing for a 16th straight game. Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez had plenty of praise for Carey before sneaking in a plug to campaign for a senior season. "Hes the hardest runner in the country and I think hes the best running back in the country," Rodriguez said before breaking into a grin. "And hes still got some things to learn. So another year and hed be just right." The game was billed as a matchup between two of the nations top running backs -- Arizonas Carey and Boston Colleges Andre Williams. But the duel between AP All-America first team selections was one-sided. Williams, who won the Doak Walker Award over Carey, was held to 75 yards rushing and a touchdown. Boston College (7-6) didnt score a touchdown until Williams 4-yard run early in the fourth quarter. "The biggest key for us defensively was tackling (Williams) before he had the chance to get going," Rodriguez said. "We wanted to tackle him early and be physical." Carey had plenty of help. Arizona (8-5) had 529 total yards and scored 35 straight points to turn a tight 7-6 game in the second quarter into a 42-6 blowout by early in the fourth. Denker completed 17 of 24 passes while Nate Phillips caught nine passes for 193 yards. Redshirt freshman Trey Griffey -- the son of former baseball star Ken Griffey Jr. -- caught two touchdown passes, including a 26-yarder just before halftime that gave the Wildcats a 21-6 lead. Arizonas six touchdowns tied an Advocare V100 Bowl record. Rodriguez said the offence -- and particularly Denker-- played at a high level for most of the day "I kknow when a quarterback gets it like B. Paul Hornung Elite Jersey. J," Rodriguez said. "Hes seeing everything -- good and bad. He was really sharp mentally and obviously, he showed his athletic ability on some of those runs." Boston Colleges remarkable turnaround season came to a disappointing conclusion. First-year coach Steve Addazio took a team that finished with a 2-10 record in 2012 back to the post-season, but the Eagles couldnt do much of anything right Tuesday. "I thought Arizona did an unbelievable great job of taking advantage of opportunities to gain momentum," Addazio said. "And then they really put the pedal down." Williams, who came into the game with 2,102 rushing yards, looked ordinary against Arizonas active defensive line. The senior never had much of a chance, usually meeting a pile of defenders right at the line of scrimmage. "We had to execute at a high level and we failed to do that at certain points." Williams said. The Eagles secondary struggled to contain Arizonas receivers, who repeatedly found space in the defence. Boston Colleges Alex Amidon caught 10 passes for 129 yards and Nate Freese made field goals from 32 and 41 yards to cap a 20-for-20 season. Both teams took to the air early. Denker completed 8 of 12 passes for 145 yards in the first half. Griffeys two touchdowns were the first of his career. Boston College looked much less comfortable throwing. Chase Rettig tossed two first-half interceptions, including one that William Parks returned 69 yards for a touchdown. "As I was running I heard the crowd getting real loud," Parks said. "So I said Oh man, I must have done something really good." Denker was selected games Most Valuable Player on offence, and Parks took defensive honours. Carey had 116 of his 169 yards rushing in the second half. The Wildcats pushed ahead 28-6 early in the third quarter after a long drive ended with Careys second touchdown -- a 5-yard run up the middle. "(Denker) started making unbelievable plays downfield and with his feet, and then everything came open for me," Carey said. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' ' |

US coach repeats that winning the Cup not realistic Untied States coach Jurgen Klinsmann reiterated comments he made six months ago, saying it was not realistic to think that the U.S. could win the World Cup this year. A few changes have been made this year, as RDS will no longer be producing it. Instead, the Canadiens have hired their own team of creative masterminds to produce the reality series.A day after blowing a three-goal lead in a disappointing 6-5 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle was blunt about the stress that comes from a game like the one played Wednesday night. "I dont sleep well - I get stress headaches," he told reporters. "I get a lot of things that you guys probably never experienced. "Theres an adrenaline that comes with (coaching), but also pretty big lows & things like last night bring you to earth in a hurry." Of theproblems coming out of Wednesday nights loss was the Leafs inability to generate offence in the third period, asToronto didnt register a single shot in the third period and in overtime. Needless to say, 25 minutes of shot-less hockey didnt sit well with Carlyle. Asked if he ever had a shot-less period as a player or a coach, Carlyle was again a matter-of-fact about it. "Probably," he said. "Forgot about it in a hurry, though." Carlyle looked to the ";snowball effect with the penalties," that the Leafs took in a game that saw them outchance the Penguins 11-9 after two periods before their offensive collapse in the final frame. Davon House Jersey. Three of the Penguins five goals in regulation were scored on the power play, meaninga defensive effort was also wanting for the second game in a row. The Leafs took a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Air Canada Centre on Monday night. "Obviously, weve given up 11 goals in two games and thats not going to cut it," said Carlyle. "Thats not going to work in the NHL." Still, Carlyle is convinced that his team can be better and knows that its his job as coach to ensure that it will. "Were salesmen, simple as that - coaches - and were selling a program that we believe in," he explained. "We can play to a higher level." The Leafs will next have the opportunity to find that level on Friday night when they visit the Buffalo Sabres. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' ' |

OTTAWA -- BobbyRyan endured pain and discomfort as he tried to help his new team find success. Ray Nitschke Jersey . In the end, the Ottawa Senators wingers injury became too much to bear. Ryans season came to an end March 27 as he underwent surgery for a sports hernia that had been bothering him since November. "For me, individually, I felt like being here, new team, new situation and we were up and down as a team and werent where we needed to be as a team (so) I wanted to play," Ryan said. "I wanted to compete with the guys." Ryan had the support of the organization and his teammates to keep playing. Trainers did their best to help Ryan deal with the daily pain, but things finally came to a head. Ryan had hoped to wait until the end of the season to undergo surgery, but a collision with the boards in Dallas on March 22 forced him to shut things down. "We hoped that the Olympic break would really calm it down and it was quite the opposite that happened," Ryan said. "I came back and it was beyond what we thought I could play through, but to me it meant more to play at that point. It was whatever it was going to take. "When I fell into the wall in Dallas that was kind of the end of it." Ryan finished the season with 23 goals and 48 points since being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks last July. Coming into training camp Ryan was eager to play a significant role with the Senators, and looking back the 27-year-old says hes not sure how to assess his first season in Ottawa. "I dont know if happy is the right word," Ryan said. "I think Im indifferent towards it right now. Even though Ive been doing absolutely nothing there hasnt been a whole lot of time to reflect on it. There were certainly games that Im going to remember and if we end up missing (the playoffs) by four, five, six points theres going to be games that a lot of us remember." As a whole Ryan said he cant help but feel a little frustrated by how the injury affected his performance. Ryan will be heading into the final year of his contract next season, and while he hasnt given much thought to his status he said he would be happy to stay in Ottawa. "I love it here, we (Ryan and fiancee Danielle Rhodes) love it here more importantly," said Ryan. "Its been a great change for us. When the time comes if thats the route (general manager Bryan Murray) wants to go to sit down and have conversations well certainly do that." Ryan went as far as saying that he could even see himself having a long future with Ottawa. Recovery from the surgery isnt expected to hamper Ryans off-season training. For now he is extremely limited, but will be able to start light training in the next couple of weeks and then should be fine to resume his regular training regimen over the summer. While the rest of his teammates arent ready to call it a season just yet, the Senators slim hopes of making the playoffs suffered dramatically with Wednesdays 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders. With six games remaining the Senators are focused on finishing strong starting with Fridays game against the Montreal Canadiens. The last time the two teams met the Senators suffered a crushing overtime loss in was the first of what turned out to be a five-game losing streak, which many point to as the turning point of Ottawas season. "That was a tough game," said forward ClarkeMacArthur. "We let that one get away. Thats just learning to play with confidence when you have the lead and knowing how to play when you have the lead." Games against Montreal are usually competitive, and on Friday the Senators will be looking for redemption. "You always want to play hard against them, theyre a competitive team," added MacArthur. "We wont have any trouble getting up for that one." As a group the Senators are at a loss to explain how things slipped away, but realize consistency was likely the biggest problem. "The potential that we have on our team and in our lineup is there," said defenceman MarcMethot. "We have the skill set we just couldnt seem to put it together and ultimately I think thats what killed us." Senators coach Paul MacLean said the team spent too much time in their own zone, allowed too many turnovers and took too many penalties The Senators are the second-most penalized team in the league with 404 infractions. The Flyers lead the league with 405. When asked how to change the mindset MacLean made it sound simple. "Practice is the first solution we have and the next solution I guess is different players." For now MacLean says hes focused on the next six games and says the team has to be ready for its next opponent and cant speculate on what changes might be made for next season. "We could say we can change everything, but the reality is you cant just blow everything up," said MacLean. "Weve done a lot of good work here in the last three years. It doesnt look like it right now, but weve had a lot of growth in a lot of our players and we need to recognize that." Notes: D ErikKarlsson was given a maintenance day Thursday. C JasonSpezza did not skate and will be a game day decision Friday. D JaredCowen and LW ColinGreening are both expected to miss Friday and Saturdays game. G CraigAnderson will get the start against Montreal. Eddie Lacy Jersey . The Blue Jackets entered this series against the Metropolitan Division champions as heavy underdogs, but they sit tied with the Penguins at two wins apiece. Columbus has arrived at this point with a pair of overtime victories, including a 4-3 triumph in Wednesdays Game 4 clash at Nationwide Arena that gave the franchise its first home playoff win. Reggie White Jersey . -- Jermaine Marshall scored eight of his 29 points in the second overtime and Jordan Bachynski blocked T.The New York Rangers have acquired defenceman RaphaelDiaz from the Vancouver Canucks in exxchange for a 2015 fifth-round draft pick. BURLINGTON, Vt. Randall Cobb Womens Jersey . -- Canada opened the womens world hockey championship on a sour note. Theyre looking for a sweet ending. A 9-2 loss to the U.S. to start the tournament was the worst beating Canada has ever taken from the Americans in womens hockey. The rematch between the two countries Saturday is for the gold medal. "We know were a much better team than we played the first game," Canadian assistant captain Caroline Ouellette said. "Were excited to prove it tomorrow. "Were kind of the underdogs. People who were at the game probably think the U.S. is going to win for sure. Honestly, its the position that Id rather be in. Theres no pressure for us. We want to come out and play with confidence. Canada beat Finland 5-1 and the U.S. thumped Switzerland 10-0 in Fridays semifinals. Canada and the U.S. will have met for gold in 14 womens world championships since the first was held in Ottawa in 1990. Canada has a 9-4 record in world finals versus the U.S., but hasnt won one since 2007 in Winnipeg. The Americans are winners of three straight and four of the last five, including a 3-2 overtime victory last year in Zurich, Switzerland. This may be the best womens hockey team that U.S. has had to date. Coached by Harvards Katey Stone, theyre quick, skilled, relentless and confident. Their top line of Kelli Stack centring twin sisters Monique Lamoureux-Kolls and Jocelyne Lamoureux has been lethal in this tournament. "Canada doesnt like getting beat 9-2 and neither would we if the situations were switched," Lamoureux-Kolls said. "We know the game isnt going to be anything like that tomorrow. "We know its going to be tough. I dont think we can let ourselves be overconfident." Canada should be more prepared ready for the American attack this time, as well as the loud crowd support the home team will have at 3,335-seat Gutterson Fieldhouse. About 300 tickets were still available Friday. Canadas defence, which has been suspect at times, will be tested early and often. "They have a lot of speed and we have to find a way to match that speed or kill that speed," Canadian head coach Dan Church said. "To be able to weather the storm against a skilled, fast team, we need to be able to do that. Theyre going to bring pressure. We need to play on our toes, not on our heels." Church doesnt make his starting goaltender public until game day. Shannon Szabados, who made 14 saves Friday against the Finns, has been Canadas choice in recent big games. She played most of the first period of the U.S. game after Charline Labonte was pulled, but Labonte went back in for the second period. Szabados stopped nine of 11 shots from the Americans in her 16 minutes and 28 seconds of work. "If its me or Charlie, for the whole entire team, the first five minutes, the first 10 minutes are going to be huge," Szabados said. Canada can draw confidence from their start against the Finland. They scored twice in the first five minutes on Noora Raty, who is arguably the best female goalie in the international game right now. Finland exposed cracks in Canadas defence. The Canadians can compensate for those mistakes against a country that has never beaten them. Canada fumbled the puck at times coming out of their own zone into Finlands trap. The U.S. will make them pay dearly for miscues Saturday. "I think we have to keep it simple," Ouellette said. "If you watched the game against the U.S., often when they had nothing they put it up against the glass and out and used their speed to go get it. "When everything is on the line, sometimes you have to just celebrate getting the puck out of the zone." Defenders Courtney Birchard, Lauriane Rougeau and Laura Fortino, plus forward Vicky Bendus, Bailey Bram and Brianne Jenner will play in their first world championship final for Canada. "We need our young players to play with confidence tomorrow and know they have all the skills to play at this level and make a difference, to be a difference," Ouellette said. "If we can do that tomorrow, well probably have more success than in the first game." Canada has a longer rest for the final after their afternoon semifinal. The U.S. wont be much fatigued after their romp over the Swiss, in which they outshot them 80-10. Finland will face the Swiss for bronze Saturday. In other games, Sweden edged Russia 2-1 in overtime for fifth place. Germany downed Slovakia 3-1, which relegated the Slovaks to the second-tier world championship in 2013. Meghan Agosta and Marie-Philip Poulin led Canadas offence Friday with a goal and an assist apiece. Ouellette, Birchard and Fortino scored goals and Natalie Spooner contributed a pair of assists for Canada. Karolina Rantamaki scored Finlands lone goal on a power play and Raty made 38 saves in the loss. Andrew Quarless Elite Jersey . Entering the day in second place behind overnight leader Vincenzo Nibali, the 41-year-old Horner pulled away from the Giro dItalia champion over the final meters of the uphill ascent to turn a three-second deficit into a three-second lead with just two days to go. Morgan Burnett Jersey . More than a month after signing the free agent centre, Bynum is expected to make his debut with Indiana on Tuesday night against Boston. NEW YORK -- For nearly three years, JadeveonClowney couldnt wait to get to the NFL, and the league was just as eager to add the player some called the best defensive prospect in a decade. No surprise: Clowney is the Texans man. But Thursdays first pick of the NFL draft didnt come without some intrigue about how it would all turn out. There had been criticism of Clowneys work ethic last season and questions about whether the Texans would hold or trade the No. 1 slot. "I just been proving a lot of people wrong throughout my life," Clowney said. "Growing up, I grew up hard. I always said Im going to do something great. Hopefully, Im going to be a Hall of Famer one day." Houston will take that. This drafts other big name, Texas A&M quarterback JohnnyManziel, sat with a sullen look on his face until Cleveland made its third trade of the round and grabbed the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner at No. 22. To rousing cheers and chants of "Johnny, Johnny," Manziel smiled widely as he walked onto the Radio City Music Hall stage. "If you call it a slide, I wouldnt call it that at all," he said. "I was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. "Its a great story. Its great for me to end up there, at a team that has fans that are as passionate as I am on the field." Manziels wait added plenty of suspense nearly three hours after the Texans took their time selecting Clowney. Rarely does a team not reveal the top overall choice until it is announced, and there was wide speculation the Texans had soured on the defensive end, whose junior season at South Carolina was accompanied by criticism he played it safe to stay healthy for the pros. After Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the pick, fans filling Radio City Music Hall to capacity applauded Clowney as he held up his index finger, his eyes moist, a relieved look on his face. Just like the 30 prospects on hand, the fans were extra eager to see who would wind up where after the draft was pushed back from late April because the theatre was unavailable. "Its been a long time. It just kicked in at the end there, man, Ive been drafted," he said. Clowney, 21, brings size, speed and power to a lineup that already has 2012 NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J.Watt. His diligence had been questioned after he slipped from 13 sacks to just three in 2013. Critics said he was protecting himself from injury in his junior year before declaring early for the draft. He is the first defensive player taken first overall since Houston selected another end, MarioWilliams, in 2006. Williams now is with Buffalo. Houston also made the top pick in its first season, 2002, taking quarterback DavidCarr. He never lived up to that billing; the Texans hope Clowney has more of an impact. Tackle Greg Robinson, whose blocking helped high-powered Auburn make the national championship game last season, went second to St. Louis. The Rams owned the pick as the final payment for a 2012 trade with Waashington that allowed the Redskins to draft quarterback RobertGriffin III. James Starks Elite Jersey. St. Louis is concerned about the health of starting left tackle JakeLong, who is coming off knee surgery. The first quarterback to go went to Jacksonville in the third slot, but it wasnt Johnny Football. Blake Bortles of Central Florida, whose stock shot up last season and in subsequent workouts. At 6-5, 232, Bortles drew comparisons to BenRoethlisberger because of his combination of size and mobility. Jacksonville missed the last time it took a QB in the first round, BlaineGabbert in 2011. The Jaguars gave up on the inconsistent Gabbert, who struggled to read defences and was benched for journeyman ChadHenne. Gabbert is now a backup in San Francisco. "Hes a down-to-earth guy, a self-made guy, a blue-collar guy and he wants to be the best he can be," said Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell, who added a word of caution: "He just needs a little bit of time." Seeing a chance to grab playmaking receiver Sammy Watkins of Clemson, Buffalo swapped spots with Cleveland, also sending a first- and fourth-round selection next year to move up from ninth to fourth. "Dynamic playmaker, and thats what this game is all about," Bills GM Doug Whaley said of Watkins. "Hes automatically going to make our quarterback (EJManuel) better." Texas A&M tackle Jake Matthews, the son of Hall of Fame offensive lineman Bruce Matthews, went to Atlanta with the sixth overall pick. The Falcons leaked so badly on the offensive line in 2013 as they plummeted from NFC South champion to 4-12 that MattRyan was sacked 44 times. Another Aggies star was chosen next, receiver Mike Evans to Tampa Bay. The 6-4, 231-pound Evans is durable, versatile -- and quite emotional. He also couldnt hold back the tears when Goodell called his name. The crowd thought Manziel might go eighth when Cleveland traded up one spot to get Minnesotas pick. So when the Browns took cornerback Justin Gilbert of Oklahoma State, there was a loud groan from the fans. Gilbert smiled wryly as he shook Goodells hand. Minnesota grabbed UCLA linebacker AnthonyBarr, Detroit selected North Carolinas Eric Ebron, by far the best tight end in this crop, and Tennessee filled a need on the offensive line with Michigan tackle TaylorLewan. Finally, a local team was on the clock and the audience approved lustily when the Giants chose LSU receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham was followed by Pitt DT Aaron Donald to St. Louis, Virginia Tech CB Kyle Fuller to Chicago, Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier to Ohio State, Notre Dame G Zack Martin to Dallas, Alabama LB C.J.Mosley to Baltimore and, as fans chanted "J-E-T-S," Louisville safety Calvin Pryor is New York-bound. Minnesota finished off the opening round by trading with Seattle to select Louisvilles Teddy Bridgewater, the third quarterback taken. Bridgewater was an early entrant into the draft, but already had graduated. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys from china ' ' ' |
