SAN JOSE, Calif. Buccaneers Jersey . -- BrackenKearns didnt question his good luck. Skating from the bench, the 32-year-old centre saw the puck just sitting on the ice, and his eyes lit up. Kearns scored his first NHL goal, LoganCouture netted his 100th, and the San Jose Sharks broke Anaheims 10-game winning streak by beating the Ducks 3-1 on Sunday night. BrentBurns added a goal for the Sharks, who won their fourth straight. AnttiNiemi stopped 30 shots in his 21st win of the season. "Thats a great story, isnt it?" Sharks coach Todd McLellan asked. "Theres also a lesson in it about believing in yourself and persevering." Kearns, a veteran of nearly 600 minor league games, played in just his seventh NHL contest. "It was just a loose puck," Kearns said. "This organization gave me an opportunity, and I just had to keep working at it and setting my goals high." PatrickMaroon scored for the Ducks, who lost for the first time in December and missed a chance for a club-record, seven-game winning streak on the road. Frederik Anderson made 20 saves but lost for the second time in 11 games this season. "Thats on us," Anderson said. "We know they come out strong, and you have to be ready from the start." Anaheim, which entered the game as the NHLs top team, also had a 13-game point streak stopped. "This was a big game for us," Ducks defenceman CamFowler said. "Now weve lost one in a row. You cant be satisfied with that." The teams will meet again at Anaheim on Tuesday night. "These are a huge two games and a huge four points," Sharks captain JoeThornton said. "Theyve been kind of running away from the division, and we sort of grabbed them and pulled them back a little. The next one is going to be another huge game." Burns opened the scoring 1:17 into the game. JoePavelski followed his blocked shot with a wraparound try that bounced straight to Burns, who found a crack between Anderson and a Ducks defender for the goal. Burns has eight points in his last seven games against the Ducks. The Sharks scored in the first 90 seconds of a game for the ninth time this season. JasonDemers recovered a loose puck to help set up Coutures goal midway through the first period. Couture beat one defender and then beat Anderson. "Its special because its a big number," Couture said. "I was stuck on 99 for a while." Midway through the second period, Kearns picked up the rebound from AndrewDesjardins shot and easily beat Anderson. "We should have known and played better in the first period," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. "We didnt meet their push early." Maroon scored his fifth goal in four games midway through the third period, with an assist from CoreyPerry. NOTES: The Sharks have taken a 2-0 lead in the first period 14 times this season. . Aldridge had 25 points and 16 rebounds in his return after missing seven games with a lower back contusion, and the Trail Blazers beat the Atlanta Hawks 100-85 on Thursday night to end a three-game losing streak.BERLIN -- Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday after coming from behind to beat Hoffenheim 2-1 away. Franck Ribery set up Thomas Mueller to score the winner from close range in the 75th minute after Hoffenheim had missed a host of chances to clear. Hoffenheim went in front through Niklas Suele in the 34th, only for Bayern to equalize five minutes later when Riberys free-kick was deflected in by Mario Mandzukic. "We drew on all what we could," Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol said. "But in the end we only gained prestige and not a point." The home side had been threatening to take the lead but ran out of steam after Mueller scored. The Germany forward missed a good chance to score again before Bastian Schweinsteiger squandered another opportunity when he shot straight at Hoffenheim keeper Koen Casteels. "It definitely wasnt our best performance but we won," Bayern coach Pep Guardiola said. "Im satisfied." It was Bayerns 36th consecutive game without defeat, matching Hamburger SVs 30-year-old Bundesliga record. Ribery extended his personal record unbeaten run to 40 games. The win keeps Bayern one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund, which provisionally claimed the lead Friday with a 6-1 rout of Stuttgart. "We wanted to stay top of the table. We managed that," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said. "And we reached a record that was thought to be for eternity. Now well try and build on it next week." Ten-man Freiburg won 3-0 at Nuremberg for its first victory of the season, while bottom side Eintracht Braunschweig surprised third-placed Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 at home for only its second win. Domi Kumbela was the hero for Braunschweig, scoring from close range in the 81st minute to prompt wild celebrations among the promoted sides fans. "Our fans carried us to this win," Braunschweig coach Torsten Lieberknecht said. "I shouldnt pick any player out but our goalkeeper kept us in the game today." Lars Bender was sent off with a second yelloow card in injury time, his first sending off in 116 Bundesliga games and two days after the midfielder extended his Leverkusen contract. Clinton McDonald Jersey. Max Kruse scored twice as Borussia Moenchengladbach beat Hamburg 2-0 away for the sides first two back-to-back wins since February 2012, and Schalke defeated Hertha Berlin 2-0 away. Schalke striker Adam Szalai opened the scoring with a header from a corner in the 26th, and Julian Draxler wrapped up the win in injury time, after Hertha had missed a number of chances to equalize. "The loss feels very bad because we played a very good game over 90 minutes," Hertha coach Jos Luhukay said. "We had to score after the interval but were missing the necessary luck." In Hamburg, Kruse capitalized on a short back pass from Lasse Sobiech to round the goalkeeper and score from a difficult angle in the 23rd, and Sobiech was at fault again when Raffael easily dispossessed the defender to set up Kruses second in the 63rd. "The win is more important than my birthday, said Gladbach coach Lucien Favre, who turned 56. Rafael van der Vaart came closest for Hamburg after the break when his free-kick crashed back off the crossbar. "We lost against a good team but in my eyes we played the best game since I started here," said Hamburg coach Bert van Marwijk after his first defeat in five games. "We deserved at least a point." Nuremberg created the better chances in the other game but found Freiburg goalkeeper Oliver Baumann in inspired form after a disastrous performance in a 3-0 defeat by Hamburg the week before. "We had Olli Baumann, who was outstanding, and the luck that had been missing up to today," Freiburg coach Christian Streich said. Felix Klaus put the visitors ahead in the 57th, 12 minutes before Oliver Sorgs sending off for a second yellow card. Vladimir Darida made it 2-0 with a fine strike in the 79th and Admir Mehmedi completed the scoring two minutes from time. Eintracht Frankfurt was to host Wolfsburg for Saturdays late game. cheap jerseys ' ' '

Petrie really found its groove while using the next shoe, the nike flyknit ??. Delivered in three increasingly lighter versions, the nike air max ?? still is most effective to use heavier, more elegant V1 form. You could have discovered the South Beach variety.Besides fresh styling, the tongue logo featuring goal posts set a premier of home plate, is amongst the best items to result from Deion's career. But then, maybe we're just salty which the coolest guy for the field spent their childhood years to be a fairy throwing pixie dust. Regardless of his post-athletic career, Deion's sneakers were among the finest.

Actually, the nike flyknit ?? is absolutely quite exactly like the New Balance 1400v2. They think much the same out and about, drop is nearly identical, and fit is similar as well.I tend to land within the midfoot or very lightly on my heel and also a soft heel tends to make a very smooth transition for my stride (whereas an organisation, inflexible heel such as the Mizuno Sayonara just doesnt work with my stride). The firm forefoot feels great when picking in the pace. I much choose the nike air max ?? sole compared to the entire firmer sole of the nike flyknit ?? 2.Unlike the vitality Boost using its stretchy soft shell "Techfit" material, the nike air max ?? includes a conventional mesh.It turned out an aftermarket for that Adizero CS, which combined aspects of a conventional comfort shoe with that of racing flats, resulting in a middle-ground pace shoe. The nike flyknit ?? took that formula and delicate it, making the shoe sharper functionally. Buoyed from the Boost momentum, Nike chose to inject its newly concocted foam into your nike flyknit ?? a year ago, and 2014s flyknit ??is a follow-up to that. So what creates this change years nike flyknit ?? evolution bring?Every runner is definitely an individual with a different stride pattern, gait, weight, use profile, injury history, and biomechanical flaws. What works for me might be a terrible site for you.

Possibly you have seen film that Nike released of any metal ball being bounced using a sheet on the boost material. However, I wondered in case you would be capable of spot the effect when working with something MUCH heavier-like a leg! So I donned an air max ?? during one foot and an nike air max ?? on the other and sat over a firm chair.I wouldnt recommend this shoe as an as is also racer, as being the materials do need time to soften.Nike eliminates the the signature upper design language seen in its Boost get in line things such as the distinctly shaped counter pattern, mid-foot design and Tech-Fit-mimicking overlay on its toe box. Then with legs outstretched and straight, I relaxed them, permitting them to drop with gravity until my feet hit a floor. The result was immediately clear. The foot shod using the air max ?? having its traditional EVA (Nike version in the rear of the air max ?? is called adiprene) absorbed many of the energy, using a small bounce and also quickly coming arriving at rest.

The two second and third place runners inside the Tokyo Marathon 2013 were wearing nike air max ??, and also the Chicago Marathon record was broken in 2013 by Dennis Kimetto in nike air max ??, and so the new shoe has now proved itself every single child perform for the highest level.

So we will see the Heat in the Finals. nfl jerseys china . Maybe they will beat San Antonio. Maybe they will lose to Oklahoma City. Whatever. No. Big. Deal. (crickets) Okay, Im trying to be all nonchalant but this is actually VERY PERSONAL. I am holding back years of torment and contempt. Bile in my throat. Bags under my eyes. Ancient pain in my heart. In 2010, I learned to hate LeBron James. I had not hated anyone in sports so much, ever. Not Harold Ballard, not Michael Vick, not Vince Carter. On July 7, 2010, I considered LeBron James to be an excellent player, living up to the incalculable hype, even if I didnt care for his chronic uncalled traveling violations or his cloying media personality. By July 8, I wanted him dead (figuratively, obviously). That was the night of Mr. Jamess infamous "Decision" to leave Cleveland, when he would gather his many talents and massive entourage, and partner with Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Pat Riley in South Beach, a notoriously undeserving sports town full of ray-soaked, disinterested seat-fillers. Courtesy: CelebBuzz Let me be clear. I was not a Cleveland Cavaliers fan and had, in fact, driven quickly most times I passed through Ohio. I was, and still am, a staunch Baltimore Ravens supporter, about as natural an enemy to a Cleveland sports fan as there is. But on that Thursday night, I drank from a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame collectors tumbler. On that night, I became an ardent fan of something I to this day refer to as Team 29. That is, any team playing LeBron. I had been a basketball nomad ever since the previous low point of my fandom: February 24, 1994, the day my beloved Atlanta Hawks traded my childhood wallpaper, Dominique Wilkins, to the Los Angeles Clippers. I still shudder at the memory. When the Toronto Basketball Club chose to name itself the "Raptors" instead of a self-respecting choice like "Towers" or "Huskies", I could never entirely settle in with my newly formed local. But, on that fateful day in 2010, I was granted asylum. I finally had a home. Team 29. Whoever was playing LeBron. My animosity burrowed deep. In a hushed tone, I admit to making the 500-kilometre December journey to wintery Northern Ohio - on my own - to assist the locals in ushering in Jamess return to Cleveland. You may revisit my chronicle of that journey here and my subsequent delirious celebration later that season when Team 29, AKA the Dallas Mavericks, triumphed over Miami in the Finals. The day after LeBrons defeat, a sigh of aching relief passed through my lips. A burden lifted. I had not noticed, but my loathing had become an appendage. I dragged it around like a boil on my cheek. Suddenly, it was lanced. Even though it meant losing part of my identity, I simply didnt have the hate in me anymore. LeBron was too talented for me to despise. I dragged around some residue resentment the next year, but I was going through the motions. I didnt want to be on the wrong side of history as the greatest player since Jordan did the requisite great things. But even as I reconciled my feelings for LeBron, I felt a familiar twinge, something which made me continue rooting against him. And, as Ive certainly foreshadowed, it was relatively easy to pinpoint what it was. I cant stand the Miami Heat. I harbour an endless depth of loathing towards LeBrons brethren in South Beach, particularly the ever-whining Dwyane Wade, who was gifted the 2006 Finals by the most biased refereeing this side of of an Ante Sapina soccer match. Ive had it with the cluster of Ray Allen-come-lately veterans looking for a coattail ring in the Florida sun. Ive seen too many of Pat Rileys Armani suits. You may enjoy luxuriating on South Beach, but attend a game in south Florida and tell me those spoiled, limp crowds deserve their seven major championships. But whats to be done? It would be great if the Raptors met the Heat in the second round. It would be great to see Jonas and Amir get their licks in against the histrionic Chris Bosh, a guy I rank after Paul Millsap in talent, but will somehow wind up a first-ballot Hall of Famer. It would be an epic demonstration of cosmic fairness for the die-hard, through thick-and-thin faithful of Toronto to triumph over the second quarter arriving, third quarter leaving falling ass-backwards into success Miami fans. But wishing wont manifest destiny. The East is in stone. Predetermined like a game officiated by Tim Donaghy. Miami is heading to the Finals. So I recognize what must be done. Im keeping my eye on the prize this year. I know the focus of my venom, and I welcome you to join my Team 29 bandwagon. I dont care if LeBron ever wins another ring, I just dont want anyone else in Miami to get one. Gallays Poll #7 Who do you want to win the 2014 NBA Finals? (A) The Miami Heat, because I have no conscience. I also hate puppies and hugs.(B) Team 29, because I am a good and decent person. cheap jerseys from china . SEATTLE -- After scoring 46 goals in five seasons for FC Dallas, Kenny Cooper knocked in a big one against his former team Wednesday. Less than two minutes after coming onto the field, Cooper converted a pass from Obafemi Martins in the 88th minute, and the Seattle Sounders came from behind to beat FC Dallas 2-1 and win their fifth straight game. Martins also set up Lamar Neagle for the tying goal in the 62nd minute. He has an MLS-leading six assists. Cooper subbed in for Neagle in the 86th minute. With Martins bringing the ball down the left side, Cooper ran into the box, took Martins cross and one-timed it high into the left side of the net for his third goal of the season. Cooper played his first four MLS seasons (2006-09) with Dallas, then returned last year after stops in New York and Portland. After drilling the ball past Dallas goalkeeper Raul Fernandez, he didnt engage in any elaborate goal celebration. The score was his 75th in MLS. "I would never want to disrespect a former team that was good to me," Cooper said. "Theres a lot of great quality on this (Seattle) team. I think were all determined and hungry to get out there and contribute. Once I get that opportunity, Im giving it my best." Cooper was acquired in an off-season trade as coach Sigi Schmid and the Sounders sought to bolster their bench after a late-seasonn nosedive in 2013. cheap nfl jerseys. He has played in nine of Seattles 10 games, coming off the bench in four. Schmid said his reserves are well-prepared. "Theyre good pros. Theyre motivated, and theyre (ticked) off when theyre not playing," he said. "When they get on the field, they want to make my life and my choices as hard as possible." The Sounders (7-2-1) tied a club record with their fifth straight victory, extending their unbeaten streak to six and their league-leading point total to 22. They came from behind in five of the games during the unbeaten streak. Each of the five game-winning goals have come in the final 15 minutes. "Its probably more nerve-wracking for us on the bench than it is for them on the field," Schmid said. "1-0 down for us is nothing. We can battle back from that." Brazilian forward Michel gave FC Dallas (5-4-1) the early lead when he converted a penalty kick in the 16th minute. It was his fourth goal of the year. Blas Perez helped set up the penalty kick when he charged into the box in pursuit of a ball, with Brad Evans and Zach Scott of the Sounders on him. In a tangle of feet, Perez went down, with Evans whistled for the foul. FC Dallas, which started 4-0-1, lost its third straight. "We deserved more, but thats the game," said Dallas coach Oscar Pareja. cheap jerseys ' ' '

BUFFALO, N. jerseys from china .Y. -- ZemgusGirgensons scored the tying goal in the second period and added a score in the 10th round of a shootout to lift the Buffalo Sabres to a 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. RyanMiller made 35 saves for the Sabres, who snapped a three-game losing skid. MattMoulson, BrianFlynn and SteveOtt also scored for Buffalo in the shootout. With his 46th shootout win, Miller took sole possession of the record for most shootout wins in NHL history. The Rangers HenrikLundqvist has 45. MilanMichalek scored Ottawas goal and RobinLehner made 35 saves. The Senators shootout scorers were MikaZibanejad, KyleTurris and Michalek. Buffalo is 4-0 in games decided by a shootout. JamieMcBain appeared to give the Sabres a second-period lead at the 15:30 mark when Lehner pushed a loose puck into his own net, but referee Tom Kowal ruled that the whistle had blown. The play was reviewed and fans were treated to a replay with the on-ice volume amplified that showed the puck crossing the line before the whistle blew. The NHL released a statement saying there was a delayed penalty on Ottawa which shouldve stopped play when Ottawa touched the puck. The Sabres hadnt played since Saturday and controlled much of the first two periods against a Senators team playing a third game in four nights. Ottawa scored first on a 2-on-1 rush 6:25 into the first period, when Michalek beat Miller for his fifth goal of the season. Buffalo nearly tied it when ErikKarlsson took a hooking call at the 9:14 mark of the second period, but Lehner made four saves on Buffalos first power play of the night to protect the 1-0 lead. Girgensons had the game-tying goal. ChristianEhrhoff took a wrist shot that Lehner kicked to his right and Girgensons swatted at the loose puck. It beat Lehner between the legs, hitting each skate before crawling over the goal line. The Sabres had a season-high 18 shots in the second period, and their 29 shots through two periods were more than theyve had in 21 full games. Ottawa controlled the third period as it outshot Buffalo 13-6. Overtime had free-flowing play with scoring chances for both teams. Miller made a sprawling stop on ChrisPhillips before McBain was unable to convert two chances in the Ottawa end. TylerMyers was led off the ice in overtime after taking a JasonSpezza shot to the face. Ehrhoff nearly put the Sabres in front early in the third on a breakaway attempt that fooled Lehner, but went wide of the goal. NOTES: Sabres LW VilleLeino was a healthy scratch for Buffalo. "He didnt practice all that well," Sabres coach Ted Nolan said of Leino, who is goalless in 19 games. "I think were part of our environment. If we dont practice hard, how are you going to play hard?" ... D EricGryba and C MikeHoffman were scratched for Ottawa. ... MikeWeber was again scratched for the Sabres. wholesale nfl jerseys . Collazo was proven correct as his final punch knocked out Victor Ortiz at 2:59 of the second round in a welterweight fight at the Barclays Center on Thursday night. With Christmas morning closing fast, I couldnt help but wonder what the CFL office and the individual clubs would have on top of their Christmas lists as we head into 2012. Actually in all honesty, I was asked the question on Friday morning by Andrew Dawson of the CJME radio morning show in Regina and thought that it made for an interesting topic of discussion. Basically, the question is: if each team could pick one thing that they would like for Christmas, what would it be? Most of the lists will focus on players and new contracts; however, there are some teams that may have some problems signing those players before they get their coaching staffs finalized. So here then is a team-by-team look at what may top the Christmas lists in each CFL city and what may also be a pleasant surprise for each team under the tree this year. We will start with the Grey Cup champion BC Lions, where Wally Buono made the announcement quickly that he would be handing the coaching responsibilities over to Mike Benevides in 2012. While the former defensive coordinator was not guaranteed the job at any point over the last couple of years, the decision was not a surprise and now the focus for both the new head coach and GM is to sign three key free agents. So you have to believe that on the top of the Lions Christmas list are the signatures of Kahlif Mitchell, Paul McCallum and Aaron Hunt on new contracts before they get to free agency in February. Benevides may have to fill some coaching vacancies, including his own DC roll, as the off-season continues but unlike other teams, this likely wont be an issue for the Lions free agents. Generally speaking, when a player is coming off a Grey Cup year, they would have to see an amazing offer to leave a team that has just won the championship. A pleasant surprise under the tree for the defending champs may be another free agent that is currently on the market. With the emergence of Canadian Andrew Harris at the running back position for BC, the signing of Edmontons Calvin McCarty would be a nice addition to the roster. The Vancouver native could provide Canadian depth and another player that can contribute. Speaking of the Esks, it is not going out on a limb to think that general manager Eric Tillman has a confident and consistent Steven Jyles on the top of his list. After making the blockbuster trade of the off-season that sent Ricky Ray to Toronto, many in Edmonton are still trying to figure out if Tillman is a mastermind football genius or just completely losing his mind. One thing is certain, Jyles will get an opportunity. The trade looks awful for Edmonton if Jyles does not emerge as a starter and even that may not be enough depending on what happens in Toronto. Now, the Esks do have some money to spend in free agency due to this trade and a pleasant surprise under the tree could be a big name signing like say, Andy Fantuz? Fantuz is in wait-and-see mode in Saskatchewan, it will take a lot to pry him out of Regina, but you never know? In Calgary, John Hufnagel has got to deal with his coaching staff first and then get to some other player issues, the most important of which may be dealing both Joffery Reynolds and Henry Burris. It is the sign of a good organization when your assistant coaches are in demand for promotions but heading into 2012, Hufnagel has already replaced Chris Jones who is in Toronto and still may have to find someone to replace Dave Dickenson who is still in the picture in Hamilton. A pleasant surprise for the Stamps and their fans may be the signing of a dominate pass rushing defensive lineman like the Ti-Cats Justin Hickman, who is also a FA in Feb. A deal that in a perfect world for Calgary could include moving Henry Burris to the Steel City and getting good market value for a quarterback that still has lots of good football left in him. Rounding out the West is Saskatchewan. Brendan Taman has taken care of the most pressing need with the announcement that Corey Chamblin will be the teams new head coach, but you have to believe that the Riders Christmas list looks very similar to Calgarys. At the top of it is the naming of the new offensive and defensive coordinators. It sounds like players like Andy Fantuz are taking their time and waiting to see what the entire coaching staff will look like before signing a new deal. It is a different scenario than what is going on in BC because as mentioned earlier the Lions are champions, but also because Fantuz will demand big offers from a lot of teams so the money will not be that different elsewhere. And if the money is similar, the Canadian receiver could then consider which team has the best chance to win based on their coaching staffs. It will be tough to pry Fantuz away from Saskatchewan; he has said many times how much he enjoys playing there but anything is possible. The Riders may have already got their pleasant surprise Christmas gift when city counsel voted positively to go ahead with plans to build a new stadium. We are entering a new era in Canadian football with new facilities across the country and as much history as there is with Mosaic, the Riders will want to keep up with the rest of the league. Now to the East where out of respect for the Eastern Champion Blue Bomberrs, we will start in Winnipeg. cheap nfl jerseys. Paul LaPolice and Joe Mack have some coaching vacancies to fill and some key free agents to sign, including all three of their quarterbacks. With that in mind, I will suggest that on top of the Bombers list this Christmas will be the wisdom to make the right decisions when it comes to their QBs. The organization will respect what Buck Pearce accomplished this year, but do they look for more insurance and try and make a deal for Henry Burris? With all due respect to Buck, who proved this year he can go a season and can lead a team to the big game, there are some interesting decisions that have to be made at the most important position on the field in Winnipeg this off-season. A pleasant surprise for Winnipeg this year would be a long shot but would be if Doug Brown changed his mind and came back for one more run at a championship. In Hamilton, Bob Obillovich has a similar wish list as the Bombers with one glaring difference. The Bombers know who their HC will be in 2012 and the Ti-Cats are still searching. There were three head coaching opportunities available at the end of this year and Hamilton will be the third and final team to fill the spot. That is number one on the Christmas list for the organization; find a quality head coach that will take them that one more step in the East. After that, a pleasant surprise would be quarterback clarity. I know it is getting old for Hamilton fans to hear it, but Kevin Glenn is still a very good QB and Quinton Porter took major steps forward in his development last year. However, a pleasant surprise for Ti-Cat fans could be another QB added to the mix that shows well enough to, at worst push Glenn and Porter to be better, and at best is so good, that he becomes the starter. Hamiltons duo last year was good enough to beat Montreal on the road in the Semi-final; that says a lot about how close they are. In Montreal, Marc Trestman and Jim Popp likely have less urgent items on their list but no less important. The Als slipped last year on defense and will need to put the improvement on that side of the ball at the top of their list. Injuries were a big reason for the drop off over there but that doesnt change the fact that the team will have to improve on D in 2012. Historically, Jim Popp has not been a GM that goes crazy in free agency, but this year there are some very good defensive players on the FA lists that could be of interest to the Als. A pleasant surprise under the tree could be elevated play out of back up quarterback Adrian McPherson in 2012. McPherson has looked good at times in the limited action that he has seen but with this almost certainly being Anthony Calvillos last year, Im sure Montreal fans would like to see McPherson light up some scoreboards this coming year in what will likely be a lot more playing time. And finally we move to the team that this off-season has quickly become one of the most interesting squads in the game as we look ahead to the 2012 season; the Toronto Argonauts. They have a new coach in Scott Milanovich, whom many thought was the number one candidate in the league for a promotion, and quickly added a future Hall of Famer in Ricky Ray at quarterback for the new HC to work with, so all of a sudden a great young offensive mind is working with a championship caliber QB who is still in his prime. So, number one on the Argos list has got to be someone for Ray to throw to. There are a couple of keepers currently on the roster like Spencer Watt and Maurice Mann, but Milanovich is used to working with powerhouse receiving corps in Montreal and Im sure has pass catchers as his number one priority. As far as a pleasant surprise goes, well Im going to go off the map here and go with the announcement that owner David Braley is going to build the team a state of the art practice facility. It would be a gift that would take a while to build but is long over due and would truly send the message to new potential Argo fans that Braley is in it for the long haul and so is the team in Toronto. As for the league office itself, it was a pretty good year but as has been said many times in sports; if your not improving and moving forward you are moving backward, and the CFL head office does not want to lose any momentum. So you have to believe that number one on their Christmas list would be to hammer out a new long term TV contract. Now I should first say that while I work for TSN, I am not privy to any of the conversations or meetings with regards to the new TV deal. That is all business that is conducted on a floor of the offices that I never venture into. However, it makes a ton of sense for the CFL to get a new TV deal (with whomever may be involved) done sooner rather than later. It would add instant stability to the league and would give the member clubs an increase in revenues right away rather than a year or two from now. Beyond that, a nice surprise gift for the league office may be the final announcement that the shovels are officially going into the ground in our Nations Capital. It is time for Ottawa to cut through the final bit of red tape (there seems to have been miles of it) and get a team with the right owners up and running. Happy Holidays! cheap jerseys ' ' '

Southampton hired Ronald Koeman as its new manager on Monday, hoping the former Netherlands defender can build on the south coast clubs success in the Premier League last season. cheap nfl jerseys . The 51-year-old Koeman signed a three-year deal with the Saints. His brother, Erwin, has also joined Southampton as assistant first-team manager, while Jan Kluitberg will serve assistant first-team coach/physical coach. "I am thrilled to be the manager of Southampton football club," Koeman said. "Southampton have a talented first-team squad, a world-class academy and the infrastructure to sustain success in the Premier League." Koeman arrives following a three-year spell at Feyenoord, which he led to consecutive top-three finishes in the Dutch league. He replaces Mauricio Pochettino, who left to join Premier League rival Tottenham. Koeman has coached across Europe, winning the Dutch league twice with Ajax and domestic cups with Benfica in Portugal and Valencia in Spain. Les Reed, executive director of Southampton, said the club was delighted to attain the services of Koemans "calibre and status within the game." "From the moment we met with Ronald, it was clear he had the vision and ambition to take the club forward," Reed said. "The club, players and fans will all be excited to have a man of Ronalds experience at the very highest level joining our club." A priority for Koeman will be retaining key members of the playing squad. England striker Rickie Lambert recently left to join Liverpool, and international teammate Adam Lallana is reportedly also a Liverpool target. Croatia defender Dejan Lovren is also reportedly seeking a move away. But Koeman is confident he will be able to continue Southamptons success from the 2013-14 Premier League season, where the Saints equaled their highest ever finish of eighth place with a club record total of 56 points. "The opportunity to continue the development of this famous football club was simply too good to turn down. I cannot wait to get started," he said. As a player, Koeman won the European Cup with PSV Eindhoven in 1988 and Barcelona in 1992. He scored the winning goal from a free kick as Barcelona beat Sampdoria 1-0 at Wembley. Koeman made 82 appearances for the Dutch national side. wholesale nfl jerseys . The Lakers will also visit Cleveland and Philadelphia, have lost four in a row on the road and are 8-18 as the guest this season. They are 3-12 on the road against Western Conference opponents. cheap jerseys from china . -- San Francisco Giants second baseman MarcoScutaro says he will begin the season on the disabled list. FORTALEZA, Brazil -- Miroslav Klose rescued a point for Germany, and equaled the World Cup scoring record in the process. Germany was held to an entertaining 2-2 draw by Ghana on Saturday and needed Kloses second-half equalizer to avoid another second-game letdown that has plagued the team in recent tournaments. Klose now has 15 career World Cup goals, equaling the mark set by former Brazil star Ronaldo. He celebrated the goal with his trademark somersault. "It wasnt perfect, but I cant remember the last time I did it," Klose said. "Still, 15 goals in 20 matches, thats not bad." Just like in 2010, Germany won its opening game of the World Cup 4-0 but struggled in its second game. Four years ago, it was beaten 1-0 by Serbia, and the Germans were on the verge of losing again on Saturday. The draw was good news for the United States, however, as the Americans would advance from the group if they beats Portugal on Sunday. "Ghana really threw everything they had at us. It was a very animated match. Both teams had many chances, and many counterattacks," Germany coach Joachim Loew said. "Thats not how the match was planned, but thats how it turned out." Klose scored the equalizer in the 71st minute, less than two minutes after coming on as a substitute, when a corner by Toni Kroos was flicked to the far post by Benedikt Hoewedes and the striker slid in to knock the ball into the roof of the net. Ronaldo reacted with a tweet: "Welcome to the club (hashtag)klose. I can imagine your happiness!!!! What a great Cup!!!?" Mario Goetze had put Germany ahead in the 51st, but Ghana equalized three minutes later through Andre Ayew. Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan then put the Africans ahead in the 63rd, only to see Klose cancel out his goal. The 36-year-old Klose is in his fourth World Cup and had been level with former Germany striker Gerd Mueller on 14 goals. Ronaldo also scored his 15th against Ghana, in a 3-0 win in 2006 in Germany. With coach Joachim Loew preferring to play with a "false nine" system without a striker, Klose sat out Germanys opening 4-0 rout of Portugal. But with Ghana threatening to put a damper on Germanys hope of winning the group, Loew turned to his veteran, who delivered again. "I am very happy for Klose. He was on the pitch for two minutes and he scored. Its sensational for his career," Loew said. "He is a player who can come on and have a decisive impact. Thats great for me, for the team, and for him." Still, the result revived Ghanas hopes of progressing aftter its opening 2-1 loss to the United States. nfl jerseys china. "It was a good competitive game. We did our best and we had many other chances that could have produced goals," Ghana coach James Appiah said. "Ghanaians have a strong mentality when it comes to football, to fight to the end to matter what is happening. Playing against Germany is difficult especially when you are a goal down. So you have to have the right players with the right mentality on the pitch." Germany took the lead when Thomas Mueller sent a dipping cross toward Goetze, who attempted a header but the ball bounced off his left knee into the net. Germanys lead lasted only three minutes. Ayew rose between Per Mertesacker and Shkodran Mustafi to head the equalizer inside the far post from a cross from Harrison Affu. With the non-German side of crowd loudly behind the Ghana team, the African side kept putting pressure on the favoured Germans. Gyan beat an offside trap by Mats Hummels and Mertesacker in the 63rd, ran into space and fired the ball past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer into the far corner to raise Ghanas hopes of an upset. In between the first two goals, a fan ran onto the pitch waving his shirt. He did not threaten any players but shook hands with Ghanas Sully Muntari, who escorted him off the field before he was picked up by a security official. Ushers then moved to block stairwells leading to the pitch. Both teams had late chances to grab the winner but Neuer and his Ghana counterpart Fatawu Dauda produced good saves. Muntari picked up a late yellow card late in the match for his second booking and will miss his teams final group game against Portugal. Schalke forward Kevin-Prince Boateng played from the start for Ghana, pitting him against half-brother Jerome Boateng, a Germany defender. There was little contact between the two and Jerome was substituted at halftime with a hip injury. Mueller, who scored a hat trick against Portugal, had to be helped off the pitch after the match with a bloodied face after colliding with John Boye. -------- Lineups: Germany: Manuel Neuer; Jerome Boateng (Shkodran Mustafi, 46th), Per Mertesacker, Mats Hummels, Benedikt Howedes; Sami Khedira (Bastian Schweinsteiger, 70th), Philipp Lahm, Toni Kroos, Mesut Ozil; Thomas Muller, Mario Gotze (Miroslav Klose, 69th). MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester City rode its luck in beating Crystal Palace 1-0 to move provisionally top of the English Premier League, while Manchester United won by the same score at Norwich to stay in the title picture on Saturday. wholesale nfl jerseys . The Manchester giants dipped into their reserves for a second game in three days and produced disjointed displays that were rescued by second-half winners. Edin Dzekos 66th-minute goal maintained Citys record of scoring in every home game in more than three years -- a run of 60 matches -- and lifted the team two points above Arsenal, which plays Newcastle on Sunday. Danny Welbeck came off the bench to score a fortuitous winning goal for United in the 57th minute at Carrow Road, earning the champions -- missing injured striker Wayne Rooney -- a fourth straight league win. Hull thrashed third-to-bottom Fulham 6-0 and last-place Sunderland scored twice in the final seven minutes to draw 2-2 at Cardiff, which fired manager Malky Mackay on Friday. West Ham will also be in the bottom three going into 2014 after twice squandering a lead in a 3-3 draw with West Bromwich Albion, and Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Swansea. Citys 10th league win from 10 matches at Etihad Stadium in this campaign was far from straightforward, with Manuel Pellegrinis decision to make six changes from the 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Thursday disrupting Citys attacking rhythm. Most pundits title favourites relied on Dzekos finish from Jesus Navas cut-back to eke out three points against a Palace side that has tightened up since the appointment of defensive-minded Tony Pulis as manager in November. "It was a hard game, maybe the toughest at this stadium in the Premier League this season," said Dzeko, who scored his 50th City goal. "It was the last game of 2013 and we wanted to finish with a win." City goalkeeper Joe Hart played with a gash under his left eye after a collision with Palace striker Cameron Jerome in the first half, but that didnt stop him producing some fine saves after the break to preserve Citys perfect home record. "I think the team that wants to win the title must have different faces," said Pellegrini, whose team is unbeaten in its last 11 games in all competitions. United was without Rooney and Robin van Persie for the first time this season, and manager David Moyes started Welbeck as a substitute for his and the teams third game in eight days. The England strikers halftime introduction energized United and he pounced when a clearance from Ryan Bennett deflected into his path, rounding goalkeeper John Ruddy to slot home. "He changed the game when he came on," Moyes said. "He is doing very well, and we need everybody to chip in with goals when Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are out." United is provisionally sixth in the standings, two points off the top four. Hulls thrashing of sorry Fulham was notable for the eye-catching celebration by Tom Huddlestone, who marked his first goal since 2011 by letting club physio Rob Price cut off a piece of his hair on the sideline. The midfielder had pledged not to cut his hair until he scored again. Fulham has looked an improved side under new manager Rene Meulensteen but this defeat -- its worst in the Premier League era -- was a major setback against a team which has often struggled for goals this season. "Im shocked," Meulensteen said. "I dont know if there was something in the tea. I did not see that coming and the players did not see that coming." All of Hulls goals came in the second half, with captain Robert Koren scoring twice and Ahmed El Mohamady, George Boyd and Matt Fryatt also netting. West Ham was denied victory by Saido Berahinos 69th-minute goal at Upton Park. Former France striker Nicolas Anelka scored twice for West Brom and appeared to celebrate his first by performing an anti-Semitic salute used by French comedian Dieudonne Mbala Mbala. Jewish groups in France have linked the "la quenelle" gesture -- which they claim is a Nazi salute in reverse -- to anti-Semitic incidents in the country. "It is dedicated to a French comedian he knows very, very well," West Bromwich Albion coach Keith Downing said of Anelkas celebration. "He uses it in his act and I think speculation (that it is anti-Semitic) can be stopped now, it is absolute rubbish really." cheap jerseys . The IceHogs scored three unanswered goals, capped by Jeremy Morins third-period goal, to beat the Marlies 3-2 in American Hockey League play Wednesday. jerseys from china . Finland is in first place with 56.96 points followed by Russia at 55.17 and the Supremes at 54.71. The Supremes, the Canadian junior champions, took the bronze at this event in 2012. They are coached by Marilyn Langlois and Amelie Brochu. AA second Canadian entry, les Pirouettes from Laval, Que. wholesale jerseys. , are in fifth spot out of 19 entries with 51.95 points. CURITIBA, Brazil -- Defending champion Spain salvaged some World Cup pride on Monday with a convincing 3-0 victory over Australia in their last match at the tournament.nfl jerseys china . After losing their previous matches in Group B to the Netherlands and Chile, both teams took to Arena da Baixada in the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba knowing they could not advance to the second round. David Villa, on his 97th and final appearance put Spain ahead in the 36th minute with his record 59th goal, guiding Juanfran Torres pass into the net with the inside of his right foot. Juanfran had been found by a typically incisive pass by Andres Iniesta. "We stepped up against Australia and won this match, and Im happy to have participated in the first goal," said the 32-year-old Villa, who has called time on his international career. "Its sad because we would have liked to have spent more time here, but thats how it is." Iniesta was at the heart of the second goal too, providing the pass for Fernando Torres to steer the ball past Australia goalkeeper Mat Ryan in the 69th minute. Juan Mata, who replaced an emotional Villa early in the second half, added the third in the 82nd from close range, stroking the ball under Ryan after he was found in space by fellow substitute Cesc Fabregas. David Silva, who also came on late, went close in the 89th but his shot from outside the area went just wide. Though nothing, in terms of World Cup progress, rested on the game, Spain showed some of the clever passing football that has seen it dominate the game over the past six years -- winning Euro 2008, its first World Cup in South Africa in 2010 and then Euro 2012. With that domination now at an end, the task facing Spain is to manage the transition from an aging squad that has won everything in the game to a new generation of players waiting to take centre stage. "We went out with dignity," Del Bosque said. "These have been six years of which we have been first in the FIFA ranking, a generation of players that have taught others, and have shown themselves," he added. "We bow out with our head high knowing the future of the Spanish team has a good base regardless of who coaches it, with good veterans." In the early minutes of the match, Australia took the game to the champions, but it wasnt long before Spain asserted control and started dominating possession. "We started bright enough but you have to give credit to them, they are a quality team," Australia coach Ange Postecoglou said. "We looked jaded, tired, and gave away the ball too easily, so its disappointing." Australia, which lacked bite up front through the suspension of Tim Cahill, finished with zero points, its worst ever performance in a World Cup. On its 1974 debut, Australia garnered a point. However, the Socceroos were in an extremely tough group and pushed the Netherlands hard during its 3-2 defeat. For its part, Spain avoided the worst World Cup title defence in history. That label remains with the France team of 2002, which only secured one point in its goal-less campaign in the tournament co-hosted by South Korea and Japan. "What happened is in the past now," Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso said. "We tried to face our situation in the best manner possible. This is football, though, and we go home sad." ------ Lineups: Australia: Mat Ryan, Ryan McGowan, Jason Davidson, Matthew Spiranovic, Alex Wilkinson, Matt McKay, Mile Jedinak, Oliver Bozanic (Mark Bresciano, 72), Tommy Oar (James Troisi, 61), Matthew Leckie, Adam Taggart (Ben Halloran, 46). Spain: Pepe Reina, Sergio Ramos, Raul Albiol, Jordi Alba, Juanfran Torres, Koke, Xabi Alonso (David Silva, 83), Santi Cazorla (Cesc Fabregas, 68), Andres Iniesta, Fernando Torres, David Villa (Juan Mata, 56). jerseys from china . My uncle Rolly would say "a tie is like kissing your sister" and though I did not have a sister, and kissing anyone was a wholly unappetizing prospect, I got his drift. nfl jerseys china . Nobody is happy with the outcome. To its credit, in the late 1990s, the spry brain-trust at the National Hockey League recognized this fundamental drag on its product and vowed to improve a flawed system. Various solutions and quick-fixes were considered in the ensuing years, and the League, largely during semi-regular work stoppages, decided on a blended approach. (This new three-pronged approach, despite coinciding with league expansion and record revenues, would trigger the erosion of my interest, until I eventually stopped watching entirely.) Change Number One: Four Skaters and a Goalie The number of skaters decreased to four a-side during the overtime period, opening up offensive manoeuvrability and theoretically ending more games with game-winning tallies rather than endless dump-and-chase neutrality. Verdict: Wow. This was a major move, altering the five-on-five structure basic to the sport, and it was a winner. Instead of labouring through increased late game conservatism, skilled players could find themselves better able to deke and shimmy and strut their capabilities, particularly in the games most crucial moments. It also encouraged the reversing of a trend which had taken hold across the league, one where teams were playing "not to lose" and overtime periods were getting increasingly dump-and-chase ho-hum. Overtime would be meaningful again! Sha-la-la-la! Success. Change Number Two: If At First You Dont Succeed, Shoot Again The NHL introduced the controversial, internationally-tested shootout as a means of concluding deadlocked matches. Already in use at NHL All-Star Games, the League took a baby step, opting for three shooters per side, rather than the five per side standard in international play. One in seven games ended in a tie in 2003-2004, so this was going to have a major impact. Verdict: Surprisingly decent move. Fans get a thrill and hopelessly tied games get a victor. Two for two, by my count. But the NHL is not in the leave-well-enough-alone business. In classic League fashion, a third branch of tinkering was offered up, one in which the basic worth of winning or losing would be altered. It is this final alteration that persists to today, defining the current system, and for this hanging-by-a-thread fan, produces a result which is laughable and has firmly pushed me to the periphery of support. Change Number Three: The Three Point Game Shudder. In the former system, a win was worth two points for the victor, zero points for the vanquished. A tie meant a point to each side. Two points per game to be won, lost or split. In the current system, two points continue to be the victors spoils, but depending upon how the loser loses, the losing team may be awarded one or zero points. The pertinent extrapolation particularly in a conference-based playoff system is to recognize that some games are then worth three points and other games worth two. This imbalance is a black eye on the game which needs immediate attention. The rule change emerged from what was termed the "Dead Puck Era" or "The Decade Hockey Turned To Crap". Overtime periods had become interminable with each side playing for the tie rather than chance going home pointless. So the NHL made tie games at the end of regulation worth one point to each side to encourage vigorous overtime play for an additional point. The change did not have the desired outcome. The risk-averse playing just starts earlier. Now the second half of the third period is the play-it-safe spot. (For those following at home, the second half of the third period was traditionally also known as the "end of the game".) So now this "end of the game" segment is like a Benjamin Moore product demonstration. Not coincidentally, since the current system launched in 2005-06, there has been a major weakening in the Mike Gallay-watching to hockey-on-television corollary. Whatever, It All Shakes Out in the End If the very nature of consolation points doesnt enrage you, consider this: not only should the Los Angeles Kings not have won the Stanley Cup in 2012, they should not have even been in the playoffs. In 2011-12, the Kings finished the regular season in the 8th seed of the Western Conference. Their record of 40-27-15 really meant they finished games 40-42. In 10th place languished the Dallas Stars (42-40) and in 11th, the Colorado Rockies* (41-41). In any season prior to the three point game initiative, the Kings would not have been in the post-season. (*I am an indefatigable purist in some regards.**)(**I realize if that was truly the case I should refer to them as the Quebec Nordiques.) This is not a one-off situation. It happened to Vancouver and Los Angeles in 2005-06. To Colorado and Montreal in 2006-07. To Carolina in 2007-08. Dozens of teams have received unmerited seedings over the years, all because of the preposterous three point game. Et tu, Baseball? Whats that gang? You all are expanding to 30 or more teams?Hey, we can too!Sure weve heard of Atlanta. The NHL has long been a follow-the-leader organization which makes the three point game more puzzling. It has no relevant precedent. MLB games cannot finish in ties and, bolstered by its non-contact, non-cardiovascular setup, teams may play endlessly into the night. Hell, if necessary, theyll just keep playing tomorrow. Quite reasonably, the NHLPA would not approve potentially endless overtime periods because of potential injury and fostering competitive imbalance (ie. when a rested team plays a team which last night played seven periods). In the NBA, there are no ties and overtime periods are rare and captivating. Hardwood scoring is more plentiful than hockey scoring, so the likelihood of limitless overtime periods is slight. In the NFL (AKA "the league that gets things right") surprisingly there is allowance for ties, but league-wide there have been only two in the past five years. The anomaly of the football tie makes it bizarre and accepted as it functions more as a novelty than a drag on competitive balance. If every team averaged even one tie per season, oh yes, the NFL would have torched it long ago. Dumping & Chasing Dreams I try to get excited for hockey. I remember my youth, endless slapshots against a laundry room wall. I check out the standings to see who is jostling fornope, cant do it. Right now, RIGHT NOW, of the 30 teams competing only 7 have losing records. Last year, by seasons end, same result, only 7 had losing records. In 2009-10, only 20% of the league had a losing record. Stop this madness. Its humiliating when grown men playing a grown mans game require the systemic equivalent of an orange slice and a plastic participant trophy. Are savvy Hockeytown fans sincerely fooled that their beloved Red Wings 30-24-13 record doesnt mean their team is a 30-37 loser? Their skaters headed to the locker room showers pissed off 37 times this year. Fact. Deep breath. I have heard all the reasons, some logical, some inebriated, on how to remedy this situation. The League and the PA and the broadcasters all have a say. But the solution is barely a tweak on what exists and would solve everything: Ten minute overtimes with four skaters a-side and a best-of-5 shootout. Winner gets two points. Loser gets a Tim Hortons special. Fans get a better reason to spend hundreds of dollars to attend. If you cannot win a game after seventy minutes then you earned the uncertainty of a shootout. The shootout, exciting as it is, might as well be five shooters a-side to give it more weight and the fans more thrills. The League only introduced regular season overtime in 1983-1984. Crucial, fundamental changes like this happen frequently. When the three point game was introduced it was to be rid of ties, to be rid of the indecision of such an outcome, but we wound up with a greater ingrained indecisiveness. This can be fixed. This should be fixed. This will improve the game. It might even make me forgive what those morons did to the conferences. Gallays Poll #3 If you were the NHL commish (my condolences), how would you remedy the current point system? (A) Leave it as is because I value tradition and systemic imbalance.(B) Take Gallays suggestions to make every game worth 2 points. 1 Winner. 1 Loser.(C) Go back to the system with the ties we all loved so much. Everyones a winner.(D) Abandon points altogether for a ranking system based entirely on scrapping. jerseys from china . Gonzalez participated in his final game on Sunday, Atlantas 21-20 defeat at the hands of the NFC South champion Carolina Panthers, having posted four catches for 46 yards. The Colorado Avalanche saved some money in a forward swap, but took the worse player in the process. Numbers Game looks at the trade that sees DanielBriere and PAParenteau switching spots. The Canadiens Get: RW PAParenteau and a fifth-round pick. Parenteau, 31, is a late bloomer who didnt reach the NHL for good until he was 27-years-old, but hes been a productive player, scoring 196 points in the past four seasons, which ranks 55th in the league. He fell out of favour in Colorado last season, missing 25 games with a couple of knee injuries and playing 16:57 per game, his lowest average time on ice of the past four seasons. On an Avalanche team that was among the leagues worst possession-wise, Parenteau was nearly break-even, so he wasnt particularly a problem in that respect. In Montreal, Parenteau should have a good opportunity to play in a top-six role, which is suitable for his price tag of $4.0-million over the next two seasons. A fifth-round pick brings with it a less than 15% chance of yielding an NHL player, but its a bit of a sweetener for the Habs taking on an extra year. Given that Montreal is getting the better player, that sweetener might not have been altogether necessary. The Avalanche Get: RW DanielBriere. Briere is a 36-year-old who is well past his prime as a scoring forward, with a serious decline in productivity over the past couple seasons, managing 41 points in 103 games over the last two years. cheap jerseys from china. Briere was dropped down the Canadiens depth chart last season, playing 12:46 per game, his lowest since 2000-2001. While Brieres game has declined -- hes not as quick as he once was -- he does come with a rep as a playoff performer, putting up 116 points in 124 postseason games over his career, which is tied for fourth among active players. Briere signed a two-year, $8-million deal as a free agent last summer, so his deal has one year remaining. He doesnt figure to play a prominent role in Colorado, but Briere should have a shot to play in Colorados top nine. If he does, theres a decent chance that, even if he scores a little bit more with more ice time, Brieres sinking possession stats will only be exacerbated by the Avalanches puck possession troubles. In the grand scheme of things, the Avalanche got away from two years of paying Parenteau, which was their motivation, but the price to pay means taking an inferior player for one year. Instead, No. 4 Arizonas 72-66 victory over No. 6 Duke on Friday night in the championship game of the NIT Season Tip-Off was a chance for two junior guards to take the spotlight. Nick Johnson scored all but two of his 15 points in the second half and T.J. McConnell had 10 points and eight assists to lead the Wildcats to the win that showed just how versatile a team they are. "Were an all-around team. Really you could see it in the box score. It was pretty even all the way around," Johnson, the tournaments MVP, said, referring to the five starters scoring in double figures. "Were a good team and we can play with anybody." The game was expected to be a matchup of two of the best freshmen in the country and, although Aaron Gordon of Arizona and Jabari Parker of Duke didnt spend a lot of time covering each other or supplying highlight clips, they were both key factors in the outcome. Gordon, the quiet forward, finished with 10 points and seven rebounds and came up big late with a dunk on an alley-oop pass and then fed fellow freshman Rondae Hollis-Jefferson for a dunk less than a minute later to give the Wildcats (7-0) a 61-51 lead with 3:59 to play. "He stayed patient, which is one of the qualities that he has as a player," Arizona coach Sean Miller said of Gordon, who had two points in 11 minutes in the first half. "I chose not to play him a lot in the first half, because he was in foul trouble. ... He played 20 minutes in the second half so he was out there more. But we as a group have to find ways to use his offensive talent even more, and hes such a unique player." Parker, who had 19 points for his first game with fewer than 20 points this season, struggled against Arizonas physical defence and was 7 of 21 from the field. He came into the game shooting 60 per cent from the field. "Jabari gets a lot of attention and it was a good physical game," Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "His shots just didnt go down." Parker, who came into the game shooting 61 per cent from beyond the arc, missed all five of his 3-point attempts. &quoot;I need to get experience against big guys," said the 6-foot-8 Parker, who faced an Arizona frontline that goes 6-9, 6-8, 7-foot. wholesale nfl jerseys. "Two things you cant practice against are quickness and length," Krzyzewski said. "We have quickness. We dont have length. They have great length on their team." The victory gave Arizona its fourth NIT Season Tip-Off title, tying Duke (6-2) for the most ever. "I tell you, Im really ecstatic that we were able to win this tournament here in the Garden," Miller said. "Everybody here knows what a special place this is. We talk to our players a lot about it. ... So everybody embraced where we were because they knew it was a big stage and for us to get on a plane and travel about 15 hours tonight, its going to be a nice plane ride home because I think we feel good about how hard we played and what we were able to accomplish." Johnson, the Wildcats leading scorer at 17.3 per game, shook off a quiet first half to become the focal point of Arizonas offence. His 3-pointer with 11:07 to play tied the game at 45. He hit another 3 with 6:22 left to give Arizona a 57-48 lead. Brandon Ashley had 13 points and Kalen Tarczewski added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Wildcats, who finished with a 36-28 rebound advantage. Rodney Hood led Duke with 21 points and eight rebounds. The Blue Devils other loss was to No. 2 Kansas. "We talked all year about we dont have a centre, and we have good players, and we have to figure out how to be good with the players we have," Krzyzewski said. "So I thought those kids played really well. I mean, I thought they played their hearts out." Gordon, who came in averaging 12.5 points and 9.7 rebounds, had a big block of Rasheed Sulaimon with 45 seconds left and the Wildcats leading 65-59. Duke had won 15 straight games in the NIT Season Tip-Off and had won 15 of its last 17 games played at Madison Square Garden. The Blue Devils, who came into the game shooting 53.4 per cent from the field, finished 25 of 58 from the field, including 4 of 14 from 3-point range, where they came in shooting 44.7 per cent. They were held 24 points below their scoring average for the season. cheap jerseys ' ' '

WASHINGTON -- After scoring two goals for the first time in his NHL career, DmitryOrlov was set to pace a big win for the Washington Capitals. wholesale jerseys . But that changed when he committed a five-minute major penalty and helped pave the way for a comeback by the Philadelphia Flyers. VincentLecavalier scored at 2:45 of overtime and the Flyers rallied from a two-goal deficit for a 5-4 victory on Sunday. Trailing 4-2 entering the third period, the Flyers started their comeback when JakubVoracek scored a power-play goal at 11:58. The Flyers were given a five-minute advantage when Orlov received a major penalty for boarding BraydenSchenn at 9:33. After Philadelphia sent goalie SteveMason off for an extra skater, ClaudeGiroux sent the game to overtime, scoring his second goal of the game with 65 seconds left in the third. AdamHall also scored for the Flyers, KimmoTimonen had three assists and Mason made 25 saves. The defining play came when Orlov retaliated for a similar hit moments earlier by Schenn. "I understand you want payback, but youve got to be disciplined," Washington coach AdamOates said. "You expect the other team to have a push. But lets not give them the push." Washington is familiar with the situation. It was the 14th time this season the Capitals blew a two-goal lead. "(The Flyers) are going to try to intimidate you and we just needed to play our game," Washington forward EricFehr said. "Thats not the style we play. We dont try to intimidate teams. We try to out-skill teams, out-work teams and try to score goals that way. We have to stick to our game plan and not get baited into theirs." Washington had a chance to pass Philadelphia in the Metropolitan Division and get into playoff position for the first time since Jan. 18, when it was mired in a seven-game losing streak. But the Flyers left D.C. with an uplifting victory. "Coming through in one of the biggest moments of the year right now is great to see," Mason said. "For us to be able to force overtime and get the one point at least and then come through and get the second one against a divisional opponent who is right behind us in the standings, its huge." After getting outshot 17-6 in the opening period, Philadelphia put 30 shots on goal to 12 for the Capitals. "First period wasnt good. I thought that we were good after that," Flyers coach CraigBerube said. "I liked the second period. I liked the third obviously." BradenHoltby had 31 saves. MikeGreen had three assists for Washington. MarcusJohansson and JayBeagle also scored goals for the Capitals in a physical game. Washington took the lead as TroyBrouwer passed from behind the net to Orlov, whose slap shot rattled the corner post for his second goal of the season at 6:06 of the first. Philadelphia tied it at 11:22 of the period when Giroux scored on a slap shot on a power play. Even as some Flyers celebrated the goal, officials initially failed to count it. But 90 seconds of playing time later, after a stoppage and a video review, Giroux was awarded his team-high 20th goal. The Capitals regained the lead three seconds after the expiration of a power-play chance as Johansson tipped-in a red line pass from JasonChimera for his eighth goal at 13:56. Philadelphia tied it at 12:50 of the second period with a turnover from Washingtons AlexOvechkin, who left the puck near his own goal, expecting a trailing teammate to pick it up. But the Flyers SeanCouturier was the first one to it and passed to Hall for a blast from the point. Less than a minute later, Green assisted on a goal by Beagle to help the Caps retake the lead and also assisted on Orlovs second goal of the game at 16:23 of the second to give Washington a 4-2 lead going into the third period. But thats when Washington fell into Philadelphias aggressive style of play. "Thats the kind of game that that team wants to play," Oates said. "Theyre good at that. Were not." NOTES: Washington was without MikhailGrabovski, who aggravated a left ankle injury in the first game after the Olympic break. The injury had forced him to miss eight games before the break. ... Goalie RayEmery did not make the trip to Washington. He is day to day with a lower-body injury. As a result, it was Masons third start in less than 70 hours as Philadelphia did not give AHL callup CalHeeter his first NHL start. jerseys from china . After losing the first two games of this set in Arlington the Tigers showed some signs of life on Tuesday, as MiguelCabrera, VictorMartinez and JhonnyPeralta all homered and AustinJackson went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI for the AL Central champs in a 5-2 win. cheap jerseys . Aduriz headed home Markel Susaetas cross in the sixth minute to open the scoring at San Mames Stadium. He bettered that with a long-range blast that went in off the goal frame in the 18th, and converted a penalty in the 72nd after Diego Mainz was sent off for fouling Aduriz with only the goalkeeper to beat. The 2014 FIFA World Cup draw took place in Brazil on Friday, as the 32 qualified teams were drawn into eight groups of four. Some quick thoughts on what it means for the tournament next summer: 1. Brazil were favourites going into the draw - and they still are As host nation, Brazil did not need to qualify for the World Cup. That is sometimes regarded as a disadvantage, as the host nation does not play any competitive games leading up to the tournament, and instead relies on a series of friendly games for their preparation. I dont believe that this will affect Brazil one bit. They have been impressive in 2013, winning their last six exhibition games by a cumulative score of 20-2. They comprehensively won the Confederations Cup in the summer, defeating reigning world and European champions, Spain 3-0 in the final. In total, Brazil lost just two of their 19 games played in 2013; a 2-1 loss to England to start the year, and a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Switzerland in August. They have a wealth of talent to choose from, with players like Ramires, Oscar, Paulinho, Thiago Silva and Hulk all likely to be relied upon. But the player that everyone is looking at to steal the show in Brazil next summer is Neymar, the 21-year old superstar who was voted the best player at this years Confederations Cup. Next summers World Cup could be his tournament to decide. 2. South American teams will dominate This is the fifth time the World Cup will be played in South America. The previous four tournaments have all been won by South American nations. Uruguay lifted the first World Cup in 1930, then again in 1950; Brazil claimed victory in 1962, and Argentina took home the trophy in 1978. There is plenty of evidence to support the idea that this trend will continue. The qualification process in CONMEBOL is an arduous one; 16 games played over a two-year period ensures that only the best teams reach the finals. The experience gained by those nations - getting used to the climate, conditions, travel and logistics - is invaluable, not to mention the competitiveness of the qualifying games themselves. Do not underestimate the effects of the weather conditions and travel distances, either. It will be very hot and humid in some of the Brazilian venues, something that the northern European countries do not prefer. The midday kickoff times for many games will simply add to their discomfort. And the travel between venues as teams progress in the tournament just adds another obstacle for teams to overcome. 3. England is not a legitimate contender This might seem like common sense to anyone who follows the world game, but it is worth repeating every four years. England will not win the World Cup - and they wont even come close. Regardless of the players selected and regardless of the form of the team heading into the tournament, there is always an unrealistic expectation from England fans that this could be the year that England will claim its first World Cup victory since 1966. Well, it isnt going to happen. In fact, England will do well to get out of their group. Drawn in Group D with Uruguay, Costa Rica and Italy, it is not an unreasonable scenario to see England going home after the group stage. Uruguay boast two of the best strikers in the worlld in Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, and despite having to qualify through the playoffs, they will be favourites to win the group. nfl jerseys china. Italy will be a difficult opponent for England, who lack the individual creativity to break down the Italians traditional strong defensive unit. In Mario Balotelli and Giuseppe Rossi, the Italians have offensive talents that will be difficult for England to contain, so I make the Italians favourites to pip England and reach the knockout stage. 4. Group of Death is a tired clich Every four years, fans and pundits alike revel in discussing which is the Group of Death, the most difficult from which to reach the knockout stage. Do we really need to do this? Every group is difficult. Every team has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. Even minnows like Iran and Algeria will not simply roll over and accept defeat at the hands of their more illustrious opponents (remember New Zealand in 2010?) The coaching staff of each team, regardless of their relative strengths or weaknesses, will meticulously prepare their teams to ensure that they are capable of achieving their objective in each game. That being said, there are some interesting matchups. Many people were quick to point out the strength of Group G, with Germany, Portugal, Ghana and the United States, but for me, Group B is far more interesting. Defending world and European champions Spain are the seeded team, with the Netherlands, Chile and Australia rounding out the group. Do not be surprised to see Chile finish ahead of the Netherlands. Alexis Sanchez is a fabulous attacking talent, and Arturo Vidal is one of the most complete box-to-box midfielders in the world. The Chile vs Netherlands game will decide which of the two nations accompanies Spain into the knockout stage. 5. Winners and losers There are always teams that come out of the draw with a figurative smile on their face, while others are left to curse their bad luck. Here are the winners: Brazil - Group A shouldnt pose a problem for the favourites, and they will cruise through in first place. Argentina - The seeded team in Group F will face Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran and Nigeria. Again, expect comfortable passage to the knockout phase. Belgium - Many people see Belgium as a dark horse in the World Cup, and given that they face Algeria, Russia and Korea Republic, theyve been given a fairly gentle introduction in the group stage. Here are the losers: Australia - It couldnt get much worse for the Aussies, who face defending champs Spain, the always difficult Dutch and the attacking flair of Chile in Group B. It will be three and out for Australia. England - While England should get the better of Costa Rica, they have two extremely difficult games against Uruguay and Italy - not to mention the weight of expectation that is always heaped on their shoulders. If England are to make it to the knockout phase, they will have to perform above their capabilities. United States - Three very different opponents in Group G; the efficient Germans, the powerful Ghanaians, and the brilliance of arguably the worlds best player, Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portuguese team. It is hard to envision Jrgen Klinsmann leading the U.S. into the knockout stage. cheap jerseys ' ' '

LOS ANGELES, Calif. cheap nfl jerseys . - Former NFL All-Pro safety DarrenSharper surrendered to Los Angeles police after being named in a warrant involving a rape case in New Orleans. Sharper, 38, also is under investigation in sexual assault cases in Florida, Nevada and Arizona and has pleaded not guilty to rape charges in Los Angeles. Sharpers surrender Thursday night had been arranged in advance, LAPD Officer Bruce Borihan said. He was being held at the downtown Metropolitan Detention Center. In a bail motion filed in the California case, Los Angeles County Investigator John Maccharella described a pattern in which the former football star met women at clubs or parties and lured them to a hotel room, where they were allegedly drugged and raped. Lawyers for Sharper, who played in the NFL from 1997 to 2010 primarily with the Green Bay Packers, have said they would prove that any sexual contact Sharper engaged in was welcomed. The motion says the incidents happened in the past five months, with two occurring within a day in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Maccharella said he was told a woman went to a New Orleans bar with Sharper, consumed an alcoholic beverage provided by him and blacked out. She awoke the next morning while being sexually assaulted, the bail motion stated, noting that an exam later showed Sharpers DNA was present. Another man facing rape charges in the New Orleans case turned himself in to police there on Friday. Erik Nunez, 26, was booked on two counts of aggravated rape stemming from alleged assaults last September in New Orleans, police said. Police issued warrants on Thursday for Sharper and Nunez. They face charges in the alleged rape of two women at the same location Sept. 23, police spokeswoman Remi Braden said. Sharpers New Orleans-based lawyer, Nandi Campbell, and lawyer Leonard B. Levine, who represents Sharper in the California case, did not return telephone calls seeking comment. Braden said she did not know whether Nunez had a lawyer. The assault investigation in New Orleans is ongoing and additional arrests are possible, Braden said. If convicted in the California case, Sharper could face more than 30 years in state prison. If convicted of aggravated rape in Louisiana, both Sharper and Nunez could face life imprisonment. Sharper was selected All-Pro six times and chosen for the Pro Bowl five times. He played in two Super Bowls, one with the Green Bay Packers as a rookie and a second with the New Orleans Saints. Sharper retired after the 2010 season. He is an analyst for the NFL Network, which has suspended him indefinitely without pay. nfl jerseys china.Louis is going to get a chance to represent his country at the Winter Olympics after all. wholesale nfl jerseys . Kane returned to score a goal and added an assist, leading the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. NEWARK, N.J. -- The Detroit Pistons arent seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Theyre just feeling better about themselves while riding their longest winning streak of the season and getting some key players back on the floor. GregMonroe had 20 points and 12 rebounds and the Pistons won their season-high third straight game with a 99-92 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday night. "We have to keep this hunger," said Monroe, who iced the game with a monster drive and jam with 2:27 to play. "We have to continue to play and give these efforts so the wins will come more often. But we have to continue to play like this." In winning for the seventh time in 27 games, the Pistons played good team basketball. They had 29 assists on 39 baskets, outrebounded New Jersey 41-36 and shot a season-high 53.4 per cent from the field. "Were gaining more confidence in each other," Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said after his team won for only the second time on the road this season and snapped a seven-game slide away from the Motor City. The Pistons are also getting some depth. JonasJerebko, who is rounding into form after missing last season with an Achilles tendon injury, added 16 points. TayshaunPrince had 15 and BenGordon, playing for the first time in 11 games, added 14 points for Detroit, which almost blew an 18-point second-half lead. Prince said it was great to see Gordon back on the floor and WillBynum dressed, even though he didnt play. "It put a smile on everybodys face," Prince said. "When we saw those guys in their warmups, even if they didnt play, guys were more ready to play." DeronWilliams scored 17 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Nets, who have lost four in a row and nine times in 12 home games. JordanFarmar added 22 off the bench and KrisHumphries had a game-high 16 rebounds. "We lost," said Williams, who was 10 of 21 from the field. "Thats about it. Its another loss at home. Weve been struggling here all season, trying to find our shots and rhythm. Its hard to win when you are shooting in the 30-per cent range." A four-point play by Williams got New Jersey within 78-77, but Jerebko, RodneyStuckey and Monroe scored to push the lead to eight. cheap jerseys. The Nets made one more run as Williams sandwiched a pair of three-pointers around a fadeaway jumper by Stuckey to narrow the Pistons lead to 86-83 with 5:18 to play. After Monroe missed a jumper and Farmar turned the ball over, BrandonKnight hit a three-pointer to push the lead to 89-83. The Nets could get no closer as Williams missed his next two shots and Farmar misfired on a three-pointer. Two free throws by Prince and a monster drive and dunk from the foul line by Monroe ended the contest. Gordon, who was out with a sore left shoulder, came back and was in form, scoring eight points in a 22-7 spurt that gave the Pistons a 44-31 lead late in the second quarter. The lead was 12 at the half and it grew to 18 points early in the third quarter when Stuckey hit a jumper to cap a 6-0 run to start the second half. The Pistons lead was still 15 points with 5:35 to go in the third quarter when Williams scored seven straight points in a 14-6 burst to close the gap to seven points. New Jersey kept coming at the start of the fourth quarter with Williams hitting six of 10 shots, including four of his six -- and career high-tying -- three-pointers. "This was a team that had more energy than us and played with a lot more enthusiasm," Nets coach AveryJohnson said. "Again, we have to generate more energy in this building. We have to generate more energy at home and we just didnt have it tonight." Notes: The teams will play again Friday in Detroit, their third game in 10 days. ... Monroe, Knight and Nets rookie MarShonBrooks, who is sidelined with a toe injury, were among 18 players chosen for the Rising Stars Challenge to be held during all-star weekend in Orlando. ... Knight, who broke his nose in the first quarter against New Orleans and did not return, played with a face shield. ... Nets backup C JohanPetro almost was ejected in the second quarter. He was called for a flagrant 2 on a block on Jerebko, but the officials reviewed the play and changed it to flagrant 1. Humphries and Monroe exchanged blocks on dunk attempts on consecutive plays. cheap jerseys ' ' '

WACO, Texas -- Turn out the lights, the fiesta is just getting started for No. jerseys from china . 9 Baylor. These Bears are headed to a BCS game as the Big 12 champion, making a reality out of the goal that seemed so far out of reach when Art Briles became their coach six years ago. "Thats what hit me," quarterback Bryce Petty said. "This is where it is, this is where that vision was." In what became a de facto Big 12 championship game after Oklahoma States loss, Petty threw for 287 yards with touchdown passes on the first drives after halftime and the Bears beat No. 23 Texas 30-10 on Saturday in the final game at Floyd Casey Stadium after 64 seasons. "Its a defining moment for our program," Briles said, adding he hopes they can repeat it multiple times. "We always believed with him," big offensive guard Cyril Richardson said. "We werent going to disappoint him." The Bears (11-1, 8-1 Big 12), who never even had a winning record in the Big 12 before Briles arrived, have the first 11-win season in school history and are headed to the Fiesta Bowl. That is the reward for their first outright title in any league since winning the Southwest Conference on 1980 when Mike Singletary called Floyd Casey Stadium home. Antwan Goodley made a nifty one-handed grab on a slant pass for an 11-yard TD, one play after Petty overthrew his wide-open tight end at the goal line. After Texas (8-4, 7-2) went three-and-out, Lache Seastrunk had three consecutive runs for 28 yards and Glasco Martin ran 10 yards to help set up Pettys 6-yard TD pass to Levi Norwood and a 17-3 lead. Texas coach Mack Brown made joking references all week about being the only coach in America playing for a conference championship while also shrugging off speculation that he could be replaced. Well, the intense speculation about Browns future is certain to increase now. The regular season is over for the Longhorns without a Big 12 title after losing two of three games -- just like the year started before a six-game winning streak. "Im disappointed in the loss, obviously," said Brown, who didnt want to talk about his future. " I told them they played hard enough, played tough enough, but we didnt make the plays we needed to make. " Norwood came to the postgame interview wearing a cap that read "RIP Floyd Casey," and said it was hard to put into words what the final game in the stadium and the Big 12 championship meant. Ahmad Dixon, the senior safety who grew up in Waco, placed in front of the podium a sign declaring the Bears Big 12 champion. He then told everyone to hold their questions, then reached down and pulled out two bags of Tostitos, the sponsor of the Fiesta Bowl. "What does this mean to me?" Dixon said repeating a question, hold up the sign as an answer. "Thats about is. ... It was all just a dream, and that dream just became a reality." Petty finished 21 of 37, with Goodley catching eight of those for 114 yards. Martin rushed for 102 yards with 18-yard TD run in the fourth quarter, one play after officials wiped out K.J. Mortons touchdown on a 60-yard interception return when he was penalized for celebrating before getting into the end zone. Malcolm Brown ran 25 times for 131 yards for the Longhorns. Case McCoy completed only 12 of 34 passes for 54 yards, two interceptions and a touchdown. The score was a 2-yarder to Brown while scrambling on fourth down after the Longhorns took a field goal off the board after a Baylor penalty on the made kick. About the same time the coin toss was happening at midfield in Waco, No. 18 Oklahoma was wrapping up its 33-24 over No. 6 Oklahoma State (10-2, 7-2), which with convincing victories over both Baylor and Texas last month was in the position to win the Big 12s guaranteed BCS berth. Before moving next year into a new $260 million stadium on campus, along busy Interstate 35 and the Brazos River, Baylor had a memorable finish in the final game after 64 seasons at Floyd Casey. Fans in black, green or gold didnt even seem to mind the bitter cold -- the temperature was 24 degrees at kickoff with the wind chill making it feel much colder. And most stayed around to share in the celebration and a stadium closing ceremony, chanting "Big 12 champs!" and "BCS!" That ceremony ended with representatives from different eras in Baylor history turning over one of the eight light standards in the stadium. The last was Briles. "It was emotional for everybody," Norwood said. "Everybody knew it was there, whether it was outright or a share. We wanted to be Big 12 champs." wholesale jerseys . Turns out, the alternative wasnt any fun for Malone, either. Durant scored 30 points and embraced a role as a facilitator by finishing with nine assists to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder past Sacramento 108-93 on Sunday night. cheap jerseys . The thunderous cheers quickly changed to an appreciative chant: "Ma-son! Ma-son! Ma-son! Headed to New York with new life, Mason sure earned this curtain call. BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Top-seeded David Ferrer defeated fellow Spaniard Albert Ramos 6-1, 6-2 on Friday to reach the semifinals of the Copa Claro tournament in the Argentine capital. Ferrer, the two-time defending champion in Buenos Aires, is aiming to win his 21st ATP tournament. Ferrer will next face fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro, the fourth seed, who defeated Jeremy Chardy of France 7-6 (7), 6-3 in another quarterfinal match. Second-seeded Fabio Fognini of IItaly and third-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain also won to set up a semifinal matchup. cheap nfl jerseys. Fognini, who won the ATP event last week in Chile, advanced by defeating Pablo Andujar of Spain 6-4, 6-3. Robredo advanced when Robin Haase of the Netherlands retired with a back injury while trailing 6-1, 2-0. World No. 1 Rafael Nadal pulled out of the tournament with a back injury of his own, but he will play next week in the Rio Open in Rio de Janeiro. cheap jerseys ' ' '

FLORHAM PARK, N. nfl jerseys china .J. -- The New York Jets open quarterback competition might already be case closed. At least, thats what MichaelVick thinks. As far as hes concerned, its very clearly GenoSmiths job to lose. "Im wishing the best for Geno," Vick said Thursday during the teams first open media session this off-season. "Im going to help him each and every day. Im going to help him get better. My thing is, when its my time to go out there and play, Ive got to be ready when my numbers called. And nothing can come in between that." Vick, who signed with New York in March, acknowledged this situation is different from last off-season with Philadelphia when he headed into workouts competing with NickFoles for the starting job. "We knew, both of us coming in, that it was open competition, and the best guy was going to win the job," he said. "Whoever performed well throughout OTAs and preseason, thats just what it was. It was pretty much cut and dried. This situation ... its kind of unique. "But even though its not an open competition, were both competing every day and we both have to perform well each and every day." Coach Rex Ryan and general manager John Idzik have said that Vicks presence is expected to help Smith with his development from his shaky rookie season. Idzik preaches competition at every position, although Ryan has said Smith will be tough to beat out. "Its not been made public that its an open competition," Vick said. "Chip Kelly made it known that it was an open competition (in Philadelphia). But were still not going to change our approach. This is the NFL. Youve got to perform. Youve got to be at your best each and every day." Vick still believes he can be a starter in the NFL, and was playing well in Kellys up-tempo offence before a hamstring injury sidelined him. Foles took over and started the rest of the season. Vick was forced into a mentors role, and he drew praise from Kelly and the Eagles for how he handled the situation. He could find himself in the same situation this season. "Its still tough right now, Ill admit," Vick said. "I wont lie. Because deep down, you always want to be a starter. You always feel like youre starting. Thats just the competitive nature in me. And hopefully, that opportunity will come again one day and Ive just got to keep working for it." Despite all that, both Vick and Smith will be closely watched from now through training camp. If the two perform at about the same level, Vick is fairly certain of the outcome. "Yeah, I would assume Geno would be the starter," he said. "Genos making great strides." Smith isnt taking anything for granted, even if Vick already sees him as No. 1. The second-year quarterback knows hes got a long way to go after a season in which he threw 12 touchdown passes and was intercepted 21 times. He finished with a flourish, though, helping the Jets win three of their last four games and going without a turnover in the final two. "Mentally, I wont change," Smith said. "Ill compete as if Im the last guy on the depth chart trying to make this team. I think thats what makes me better and thats the way I work, and Ive always done that. The biggest difference is my familiarity with the offence, knowing my protections, not trying to come in and learn everything on the go. "Having 16 games under my belt is really going to pay off for me." Smith entered last spring in a competition with MarkSanchez, but was thrust into the starting job when Sanchez was lost to a season-ending shoulder injury in the preseason. It was on-the-job training for Smith, who flashed at times but often looked very much like an inexperienced rookie. He enters this years competition as the incumbent, which often means that player starts with the lead -- something Smith refuses to consider. "I dont put my mind in that position," he said. "I try to work as if Im the underdog. Whether Im named the starter or not, thats the way that I work. Like I said, thats something that helps me, having that constant edge, having that chip on my shoulder, just working extremely hard every single day to get better." cheap nfl jerseys . BradRichards scored twice on New Yorks previously anemic power play, MartinSt.Louis had three assists in his best game since joining the Rangers last month, and HenrikLundqvist kept the Carolina Hurricanes at bay in a 4-1 victory on Tuesday night. cheap jerseys . The Indians scored twice in the top of the ninth, getting the go-ahead run on a wild pitch by closer MattLindstrom. Axford (0-1) came in seeking his fifth save in as many chances.KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Determined to end a two-year title drought, LeeWestwood shot a 7-under 65 Thursday to take the lead at storm-affected Malaysian Open. Westwood had a bogey at his first hole but birdied four of his closing five to take a one-shot lead ahead of NicolasColsaerts of Belgium before play was suspended because of the risk of lightning. A tropical downpour in the afternoon had previously halted play for more than an hour, and 45 players in the 156-man field will have to complete their first round on Friday. The 36th-ranked Westwood is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Masters last weekend -- his best so far this year -- and is looking to repeat his Malaysian Open victory from 1997. "I didnt make the best of starts bogeying ... the first hole, but fortunately that didnt set the tone," Westwood said. "I hit it really well and hit it close a lot. I had to be patient because I was hittinng good putts and they werent going in (until) I holed one from about eight feet on my 16th. wholesale nfl jerseys. " Colsaerts recovered from a neck injury that forced him out of the Houston Open earlier this month and carded a 66. Northern Irelands Michael Hoey and Portugals Ricardo Santos were a stroke further back in the co-sanctioned European and Asian Tour event. Colsaerts, a former Ryder Cup player who has slipped to 131st in the world, had eight birdies and two bogeys in his round. "Ive felt Ive played pretty well since early in the season, but theres always been a stretch of holes where Ive shot myself in the foot for some reason," Colsaerts said. "Ive missed good opportunities to have good weeks. So the plan is to come back here to get some momentum and confidence back." Defending champion Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand shot a 71 and 2012 winner LouisOosthuizen of South Africa had a 72. cheap jerseys ' ' '
