It may not be too much longer before Barry Trotz finds a new home. Navy Blue Chris Jones Limited Mens Jersey . TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger is reporting that the former Nashville Predators head coach was in Washington on Tuesday meeting with Capitals owner Ted Leonsis and president Dick Patrick. The Capitals missed the playoffs for the first time in six seasons, leading the club to fire bench boss AdamOates. The Capitals also did not renew the contract of general manager George McPhee following the season. Trotz, 51, was fired by the Predators after 15 seasons in Nashville; the only coach in the franchises history. The Vancouver Canucks are also rumoured to be interested in Trotz. White Michael Irvin Elite Mens Jersey . The Raptors said it was a "minor surgical procedure" to address the ulnar nerve release in his hand. Fields underwent ulnar nerve transposition surgery in November of 2012 to alleviate nerve compression in his right elbow. White Terrance Williams Limited Youth Jersey . -- RyanMallett played solidly in his first chance at quarterback for the New England Patriots.FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- TonyGonzalez is having a harder time saying goodbye to the NFL than he imagined. As he prepares to host 40 family members and friends in Atlantas season finale, Gonzalez sounds as if he isnt entirely ready to walk away. When the Falcons announced in March that he would return this year, the 13-time Pro Bowl tight end was "100 per cent certain" he would retire after the season. Now Gonzalez wonders if he could change his mind again if Atlanta returns to playoff contention next fall and general manager Thomas Dimitroff gives him a call. "Id have to cross that bridge when I get to it, but right now I dont have any plans," he said. "I know for sure I wont be on an opening day for roster anybody. Im going to-- this is it. This is it." Meeting with reporters Friday, Gonzalez focused most of his answers on the end of his career. The 37-year-old insisted that hes pleased to "go out on his own terms" and added that hes "thankful for the opportunity" to have stayed healthy and productive for 17 seasons. Gonzalez ranks second in career catches, fifth in yards receiving and sixth in touchdown catches. No NFL tight end ever put up such numbers, but Gonzalez hardly returned this year to pad his stats. He craved playing in his first Super Bowl, winning a championship and making a legendary exit. The Falcons, though, never had a chance. JulioJones, SamBaker and KroyBiermann suffered season-ending injuries. SeanWeatherspoon played in only seven games. RoddyWhite made 12 starts and StevenJackson made 11, but both players were hurt most of the year. Quarterback MattRyan was harassed all season behind a weak offensive, and Atlantas defence was gouged repeatedly for big plays. Not surprisingly, Gonzalezs production dropped off as opponents double-teamed his routes. In October and early November, Gonzalez openly discussed his frustration and held out hope that the Falcons could still turn the season around. By the first of December, though, Gonzalez took a different approach with reporters, reminiscing about his early morning drives from hectic Buckhhead to the picturesque mountain view at team headquarters. Black Dez Bryant Limited USA Jersey. He talked about missing quality time with his kids but also feeling grateful to former teammates and coaches in Kansas City and those hes worked with in Atlanta the last five years. "I know I could come back and play a couple of more years if I wanted to, but its time for me to go," Gonzalez said. "Its time for me to get back to my family, get back to California, where Im from and explore that next chapter of my life. Im going to have fun with it." Television work is a possibility for Gonzalez, but playing football might not be out of the question. The Falcons, after all, signed him to a two-year, $14 million contract last March, and if they get off to a strong start next season, Gonzalez might reconsider, but he stopped short of saying that he plans to file retirement papers with the NFL. Then again, the aches and pains of a 16-game season arent getting easier, this despite the Falcons allowing him to miss over three weeks of training camp and preseason games last summer. "Like I said, dont anybody ever feel bad for me," Gonzalez said, smiling. "The things Ive accomplished in my career are more than anybody ever deserves." With one full day remaining before Atlanta (4-11) hosts the playoff-bound Carolina Panthers (11-4), Gonzalez is eager to go out with a victory. He had a good ride with the Falcons in his first four years, helping the team go 45-19 and win his first playoff game last January. But after narrowly beating Seattle in the divisional round, Atlanta fell 10 yards short against San Francisco in the NFC title game. "You never know when it can come to an end, and thats always been my approach," Gonzalez said. "Ive never said that Ive arrived with my accomplishments. Ive never, ever said that thats good enough for me or Ive caught enough balls to last a lifetime. I always wanted to keep working and keep working in case this is it, and now that Im coming into my last one, Im glad Ive done it that way. "It worked out, and hopefully Ill carry those habits into my next career, whatever that is." cheap jerseys ' ' '

SAN DIEGO -- TravisdArnaud returned to San Diego, the site of his major league debut, and recorded another memorable moment. Stephen Gostkowski Jersey . "Im more focused in on the ball that is 90 miles an hour coming at me." And the Mets stayed hot, after an 8-2 homestand. "Thats big," dArnaud said. "We had good momentum before the All-Star break happened, and we won tonight and were going to keep it going." JeurysFamilia (2-3) pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the win. "I just try to keep my eye on the ball and put a swing on it," dArnaud said. "Fortunately, it found a gap." The Mets had gotten the go-ahead run into scoring position in the eighth inning on RubenTejadas two-out double, but BobbyAbreu grounded out and failed to get a hit for the 18th straight time as a pinch-hitter. Colon was strong early, which was different for him. He had allowed a first-inning run in five consecutive starts, before shutting down the Padres over the first 4 1-3 innings. The Padres snapped a 25-inning scoreless skid when they scored four in the fifth. WillVenable opened with a single, JakeGoebbert walked, and they advanced on a double steal. ChrisNelson, who joined the Padres earlier Friday from Triple A El Paso, singled in Venable. AlexiAmarista, who had three hits, followed with a run-scoring single to slice the deficit in half. After Nelson and Amarista moved up on SethSmiths grounder to first, Headley tied the game with a two-run single. New York extended its lead to 4-0 in the third when Duda scored after starting the inning with a double. DArnaud drove in Duda with his second single of the night. The Mets struck early with three first-inning runs as IanKennedy struggled after getting two outs. Kennedy, who had surrendered just two runs in 21 innings, allowed three hits, nailed Duda with a pitch, and walked KirkNieuwenhuis. "It showed the guys we are still in that zone right now," Collins said. "It was a good first inning. Hes been pitching good." The key blow was JuanLagares single that scored Duda and dArnaud, who was aboard on a single that drove in Granderson. "Hes made some adjustments at the plate," Collins said of dArnaud. "His confidence is soaring and he is seeing the ball really good." MILAN - Juventus maintained its charge to a third successive Serie A title as it won 1-0 at 10-man Catania in a fiery match in Serie A on Sunday. Victor Butler Saints Jersey . Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the game to take him level with Torino striker Ciro Immobile at the top of the scoring charts. Catania was forced to play with 10 men for much of the second half after Gonzalo Bergessio was dismissed following a second booking. Both coaches were also sent to the stands for protests during the first period. Juventus restored its 14-point lead over Roma, which has a game in hand. "I think the referee wanted to give a warning to the players, by sending off the managers and calming things down a bit," Conte said. "The match was very heated and we were good to keep a cool head. "I am very proud of the lads. We are playing at extraordinary levels, but we have to give credit to Roma, which is doing something incredible. So we have to stay awake because nothing is over and decided yet." Earlier, Fiorentina snatched a late 1-0 win at 10-man Napoli to boost its chances of sneaking into the Champions League. Inter Milan is four points further back after a last-minute goal consigned it to a 2-1 loss at home to Atalanta. Parma is level, but with a game in hand, after it drew 1-1 with Genoa in the lunchtime kickoff. "It was the perfect day, seeing as we opened up a gap on those behind us and got closer to third spot," Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella said. "It will be difficult to reach because Napoli is strong and has a big advantage. But well try right until the end." Lazio is five points off a European spot after being held to a 1-1 draw by AC Milan. Hellas Veronas European bid was dented again as it lost 5-0 at Sampdoria. Elsewhere, Udinese beat Sassuolo 1-0 and Bologna won a relegation fight against Cagliari by the same score. It was top against bottom in Serie A and 55 points separated Juventus and Catania going into the match. Tension was high from the start as the Juventus bus was pelted with objects on its way to the stadium. Juventus struggled but broke the deadlock shortly before the hour mark. Pablo Osvaldo nodded back a long ball from Andrea Pirlo for Tevez to race forward and fire home an angled drive for his 16th goal of the season. Both Napoli and Fiorentina were in need of a confidence boost after crashing out of the Europa League midweek. Faouzi Ghoulam was controversially dismissed in the 37th minute after bringing down Marko Bakic on the edge of the area and Joaquin headed home the winner two minutes from time. Fiorentina moved seven points behind third-place Napoli. There was also a late goal in Milan, where Giacomo Bonaventura scored his second of the game 10 seconds from time when he was left completely unmarked at the far post to head a free kick between Samir Handanovics legs. Mauro Icardi had cancelled out Bonaventuras opener within 60 seconds in the first half. To celebrate he held up a T-shirt dedicated to his girlfriend Wanda Nera, the ex-wife of former Sampdoria teammate Maxi Lopez. Inter should have sealed the match in the second half but Fredy Guarin smashed a shot off the crossbar and Rodrigo Palacio sent a glancing header onto the left upright. Both sides could have snatched the win. Inters Jonathan cleared off the line three minutes from time before chipping the ball off the underside of the crossbar at the other end. Atalanta also hit the woodwork in the first half, when German Denis headed Bonaventuras cross off the crossbar. Parma maintained its charge toward a European spot as it extended its club record unbeaten run to 17 matches. Substitute Mario Balotelli was unlucky as his effort hit the right post eight minutes from time. At Udinese, captain Antonio Di Natale scored his 10th goal of the season to ensure he reached double figures in goals for the eighth consecutive season. It was a good way to mark his 324th league appearance for Udinese a new club record. Di Natale could have had a second but kicked up a chunk of turf as he ballooned a penalty over the bar. Sassuolo also missed a penalty kick. Saints #8 Jersey . The Basque club improved to four points better than fifth-place Villarreal in the duel for the last Champions League qualifying place. Celta should have come away with more from the high tempo game. Keenan Lewis Saints Jersey .S. -- Kelsey Rocque remains the only unbeaten womens skip at the Canadian junior curling championships.OAKLAND, Calif. -- Two of the American Leagues top teams have struggling closers who are accustomed to being among the best in baseball. After IanKinsler lined out to start the game, Chavez walked the next two and received a mound visit from pitching coach Curt Young after going to 2-0 on cleanup hitter VictorMartinez. Martinez then singled and J.D.Martinez grounded into an inning-ending double play. The As left the bases loaded in the second and sixth innings, and also squandered scoring chances in the first, fifth and seventh. They had the tying run on second and go-ahead run on first to end the game, leaving 14 on base in all. "We had plenty of opportunities," manager Bob Melvin said. "We had some situational at-bats where we didnt come through." AL Central-leading Detroit, which eliminated the two-time defending AL West champion As in a five-game division series each of the past two Octobers, won for just the third time in 11 games following a six-game winning streak. JoshGordon emerging as a superstar receiver, CarsonPalmer and the Cardinals passing attack, NickFoles rare ratio, more Manning greatness; also Newton, Brady, Gronkowski, Jeffery, Decker and more in Scott Cullens 50 Points on NFL Week 13. Kyle Fuller . 1. Lions WR CalvinJohnson (6 REC, 101 YDS, 1 TD, 10 targets) leads receivers with 1,299 yards and 12 touchdowns, though his 118.1 receiving yards per game ranks second behind Clevelands JoshGordon. Gordon (10 REC, 261 YDS, 2 TD, 15 targets) is emerging as a superstar, putting up huge numbers even with JasonCampbell and BrandonWeeden at quarterback. 2. Cardinals QB CarsonPalmer (24-for-41, 302 YDS, 3 TD, 2 INT, 1 fumble) had his third consecutive 300-yard passing game, a feat he only accomplished once before -- last November with Oakland. This year, its happening for a team that is in playoff contention and Palmer is doing his part to contribute to that success. The emergence of second-year Cardinals WR MichaelFloyd (5 REC, 99 YDS, 1 TD, 10 targets) is playing a big part in Palmers hot streak. Floyd has 18 catches (28 targets) for 396 yards in the last three weeks. During the same period, LarryFitzgerald has 16 catches (28 targets) for 185 yards, though Fitzgerald has four touchdowns compared to Floyds two. 3. Eagles QB NickFoles (21-for-34, 237 YDS, 3 TD, 0 INT) is up to 19 touchdown passes without an interception, prompting head coach Chip Kelly to annoint him the starter for the next 1,000 years. No one in the modern era has come close to finishing a season with zero interceptions and this many TD passes. The best modern era single-season TD-INT ratio with two or fewer interceptions, in at least 10 games, belongs to DamonHuard, who had 11 touchdowns and one interception for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2006. 4. Broncos QB PeytonManning (22-for-35, 403 YDS, 5 TD, 2 INT) is making a mockery of the MVP race. With 41 touchdown passes, Manning has a chance to challenge TomBradys record 50 touchdown passes, set in 2007 (which is one more than Manning had for Indianapolis in 2004). 5. Panthers QB CamNewton (18-for-29, 263 YDS, 2 TD, 2 INT; 68 YDS, 1 TD, 5 carries) is tied for ninth among quarterbacks with 19 touchdown passes, but hes been involved in 25 total touchdowns (rushing for six), which ranks fourth, behind PeytonManning, DrewBrees and MatthewStafford. 6. Since throwing for 116 yards in Week Eight against Miami, Patriots QB TomBrady (29-for-41, 371 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT) has resumed his place as one of the most productive quarterbacks in the game, passing for 1,443 yards and 10 touchdowns, with two interceptions, in the last four games. 7. Patriots TE RobGronkowski (6 REC, 127 YDS, 1 TD, 12 targets) has 560 receiving yards in six games since returning to the lineup, good enough for 10th among tight ends this season. Gronks 93.3 yards per game leads them all, ahead of JimmyGrahams 82.3 yards per game. For all the talk about how New England needed rookies or newcomer DannyAmendola to step up in the passing game, Patriots WR JulianEdelman (9 REC, 101 YDS, 12 targets) has been the leader of the group, catching 70 passes for 711 yards and four touchdowns, all of which lead (or, in the case of TDs, tie for the lead) the team. 8. Seattles defence locked down Saints QB DrewBrees (23-for-38, 147 YDS, 1 TD), who threw for his fewest yards in a game since December, 2006. 9. Bears WR AlshonJeffery (12 REC, 249 YDS, 2 TD, 15 targets) is emerging as a star in his second season, and has more receiving yards than BrandonMarshall (1,109 to 990) and has added 115 rushing yards on 14 attempts. 10. Broncos WR EricDecker (8 REC, 174 YDS, 4 TD, 12 targets), who would have been the third Denver receiver picked in most drafts, now ranks 11th in receiving yards among wide receivers. 11. Raiders WR AndreHolmes (7 REC, 136 YDS, 11 targets) had three catches for 65 yards all season before he was turned loose against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, taking advantage of DenariusMoores injury to establish that he could be a bona fide threat. Holmes is 6-foot-5, out of Hillsdale College, and spent the last couple seasons on the fringes of the Dallas Cowboys roster, dressing for seven games in 2012. 12. Falcons WR RoddyWhite (10 REC, 143 YDS, 14 targets) may finally -- finally -- be over the high-ankle sprain that has plagued him all year. Sundays breakout was the first time all year that White had more than five catches or 50 yards receiving. 13. Vikings RB AdrianPeterson (211 YDS, 35 carries) is making a second-half charge up the rushing list, with 357 rushing yards in the last two weeks. His 67 carries the last two weeks is his most in back-to-back games, beating the 59 carries he had in the last two weeks of last season, when he was making a push to catch Eric Dickersons single-season rushing record. 14. Lions QB MatthewStafford (22-for-35, 330 YDS, 3 TD, 2 INT, 1 fumble) accumulates a lot of yards, sometimes because hes making up for deficits created by turnovers, but PeytonManning is the only one with more passing yards than Staffords 3,825 and Manning (41) and DrewBrees (29) are the only ones with more touchdown passes than Staffords 27. 15. Lions RB ReggieBush (182 YDS, 1 TD, 1 fumble, 25 touches) is up to 1,302 yards from scrimmage this season, which ranks fifth. On a per-game basis, Bushs 118.4 yards per game ranks third among runners. JoiqueBell (128 YDS, 1 TD, 22 touches), Bushs backup, ranks 20th in yards from scrimmage, with 813. 16. Seahawks QB RussellWilson (22-for-30, 310 YDS, 3 TD) has thrown multiple touchdown passes in six straight games, a span during which he has 14 touchdowns and two interceptions. 17.Bears RB MattForte (151 YDS, 25 touches) ranks third in yards from scrimmage with 1,416 and is on pace to beat his career-high of 1,715 yards from scrimmage, set in his rookie season, 2008. Eagles RB LeSeanMcCoy (115 YDS, 24 touches) continues to lead in yards from scrimmage this season, with 1,523, 60 yards ahead of Kansas City RB JamaalCharles (120 YDS, 1 TD, 21 touches). 18. Steelers RB LeVeonBell (136 YDS, 1 TD, 23 touches) had a strong game against Baltimore on Thanksgiving before suffering a concussion as he nearly scored his second touchdown of the game. Bell hopes to get back in the lineup, but if he cant, JonathanDwyer and FelixJones are next on the depth chart. Dwyer and Jones havent played much, though, combining for a total of 14 touches in the last three games. 19. Panthers TE GregOlsen (5 REC, 85 YDS) has done it quietly, but ranks seventh among tight ends with 611 receiving yards this season. Since the start of last season, JimmyGraham, JasonWitten and TonyGonzalez are the only tight ends with more receiving yards than Olsen. 20. Since 2007, Texans WR AndreJohnson (8 REC, 121 YDS, 9 targets) leads the NFL with 94.7 receiving yards per game, six yards per game ahead of Detroits CalvinJohnson. 21. Chiefs QB AlexSmith (26-for-42, 293 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT; 46 YDS, 4 carries) cant compare to PeytonManning, but hes been productive enough, throwing for 817 yards and seven touchdowns with two interceptions in the last three weeks -- all Chiefs losses. Smith also completed passes to 11 different receivers against Denver Sunday. 22. Dolphins QB RyanTannehill (28-for-43, 331 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT) passed for a season-high 331 yards against the Jets and it was the first time in his career that he threw for 300 yards and multiple touchdowns in the same game. 23. 49ers QB ColinKaepernick (19-for-28, 275 YDS, 1 TD) has thrown for 510 yards and four touchdowns, with zero interceptions, in the last two weeks. Slight progress from a generally miserable passing season. 24. Bears QB JoshMcCown (23-for-36, 355 YDS, 2 TD) passed for his most yards in a game since October, 2005, when he had back-to-back games with more than 380 yards passing for the Arizona Cardinals. McCown has passed for 707 yards and four touchdowns in the last two games. 25. There was some discussion among TSN.ca staffers about who should be the offensive rookie of the year and I made sure to mention Chargers WR KeenanAllen (8 REC, 106 YDS, 1 fumble, 10 targets), the third-round pick who now has 843 receiving yards on the season, going over 100 yards in five of his last eight games played. 26. Jaguars WR AceSanders (8 REC, 67 YDS, 11 targets) is becoming an active part of the Jacksonville passing game. Over the last three weeks, he has 20 catches (26 targets) for 189 yards and, naturally since he plays for the Jaguars, no touchdowns. 27. Dolphins WR BrianHartline (9 REC, 127 YDS, 1 TD, 15 targets) had a season-high 127 receiving yards against the Jets and scored his first touchdown since Week Three, but hes been quietly productive this season. Hes averaging 67.0 receiving yards per game, which is right on track with last years 67.7 yards per game that led to a career-high 1,083 receiving yards. 28. Chargers RB RyanMathews (92 YDS, 19 touches) gets a lot of grief for his inconsistency, but 907 yards from scrimmage this season ranks 15th among running backs. 29. Titans RB ChrisJohnson (101 YDS, 1 TD, 24 touches) went over 100 yards from scrimmage for the third time this season. Hes over 1,000 yards from scrimmage (1,042), but is on pace for a career-low in that category. 30. Texans RB BenTate (102 YDS, 3 TD, 22 carries) rushed for more than 100 yards for the first time since November, 2011 against Cleveland. With ArianFoster out, there is still a real opportunity for Tate to finish the year strong as the Texans lead back. 31. Falcons RB StevenJackson (84 YDS, 2 TD, 23 carries) had his most productive game of the season Sunday, against the Bills in Toronto, which says something about how this year has gone for him, but Jackson does have 163 yards from scrimmage, with three touchdowns, in the last two weeks. 32. Ravens RB RayRice (70 YDS, 18 touches) had a season-high 38 receiving yards against Pittsburgh, yet it was still only the fifth time all season that he gained at least 70 yards from scrimmage. 33. Browns RB WillisMcGahee (71 YDS, 1 TD, 16 touches) had his most productive game since rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown (on 26 carries) against Buffalo in Week Five. Cleveland thought that McGahee would be a suitable replacement for TrentRichardson and, turns out, they were right, but both have struggled this season. 34. Bills RB C.J.Spiller (157 YDS, 1 TD, 17 touches) delivered his most productive game of the season, yet FredJackson (78 YDS, 2 TD, 15 touches) was still eminently valuable for fantasy purposes. With more touches and more touchdowns, Jackson has been the more valuable of Buffalos running back duo, something that wasnt forecasted when Spiller was being talked about as a first-round fantasy pick. 35. With StevanRidley on the sidelines, Patriots RB ShaneVereen (75 YDS, 15 touches) made the most of the opportunity, while LeGarretteBlount (44 YDS, 1 TD, 12 carries) had a chance to get some regular work. Of course, fantasy owners note that JamesDevelin (16 YDS, 1 TD, 3 touches) had the first two carries of his career, including New Englands lone touchdown run. 36. Bengals RB BenJarvusGreen-Ellis (92 YDs, 1 TD, 1 fumble, 20 carries) and GiovaniBernard (66 YDS, 15 touches) continue to be a productive tandem, though BJGE gets a lot of touches for the less efficient runner. 37. Dolphins RB LamarMiller (85 YDS, 23 touches) got a new chance with DanielThomas injured and made the most of it, with a productive game following a three-game stretch during which he accumulated 95 yards from scrimmage. 38. Cardinals RB RashardMendenhall (76 YDS, 18 carries) had season-highs in rushing yards and carries at Philadelphia, taking advantage of the opportunity presented when rookie AndreEllington was sidelined with a knee injury. 39. Colts RB DonaldBrown (64 YDS, 16 touches) has worked his way ahead of TrentRichardson in the Indianapolis backfield. Not a huge accomplishment, given Richardsons struggles, but Brown is becoming a viable option at FLEX. 40. Broncos RB MonteeBall (117 YDS, 13 carries) made the most of additional carries, while KnowshonMoreno (90 YDS, 1 TD, 19 touches) was still productive against the Chiefs. 41. Jets RB ChrisIvory (73 YDS, 13 touches) continues to hold the edge on BilalPowell (59 YDS, 10 touches) in the New York backfield. The closeness of the competition, however, makes it difficult to count on much from either one from week to week. 42. Panthers RB JonathanStewart (42 YDS, 16 touches) got a good opportunity with DeAngeloWilliams hurt, but it was MikeTolbert (89 YDS, 12 touches) who took advantage of the additional touches. 43. Eagles rookie TE ZachErtz (5 REC, 68 YDS, 2 TD, 6 targets), a second-round pick, had the best game of his career to this point and while 342 yards and three touchdowns doesnt account for much this season, hes starting to takeo n a bigger role in the Eagles offence and those numbers should continue to rise with strong quarterback play. 44. Vikings QB ChristianPonder (3-for-8, 40 YDS) left Sundays win over Chicago with a concussion; MattCassel (20-for-33, 243 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT) was decent in relief, which helped WR GregJennings (7 REC, 78 YDS, 1 TD, 9 targets), who went over 70 yards receiving for only the third time this season. 45. Browns QB BrandonWeeden (24-for-40, 370 YDS, 3 TD, 2 INT, 1 fumble) passed for a career-high 370 yards and three touchdowns against Jacksonville, reaping the rewards of JoshGordons breakout. 46. Cowboys RB LanceDunbar (94 YDS, 13 touches) had 46 yards from scrimmage in Week 12, a career-high, then busted out against the Raiders for the best day of his career, only to end up tearing his posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in his knee, ending his season. DeMarcoMurray (102 YDS, 3 TD, 22 touches) may have to handle more touches with Dunbar out, but Philip Tanner and JosephRandle will compete for playing time in a reserve role. 47. Packers RB EddieLacy (39 YDS, 15 touches) is finding it more difficult to run when defences dont have to respect the Green Bay passing game. The 39 yards from scrimmage against Detroit was Lacys fewest in a game this season, aside from Week Two, when he suffered a concussion on his first carry. 48. Packers QB MattFlynn (10-for-20, 139 YDS, 0 TD, 1 INT, 2 fumbles) has done quite the job of ensuring that his Game 16 performance in 2011 (31-for-44, 480 YDS, 6 TD, 1 INT in 45-41 win vs. Detroit) will be viewed as nothing more than a fluke. Hes completed 58.9% of his passes this season for 603 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions, good enough to be one of 32 backups in the league, but nothing to suggest that hes remotely ready for a starting job. 49. Jets QB GenoSmith (4-for-10, 29 YDS, 1 INT) continued to struggle and was replaced by MattSimms (9-for-18, 79 YDS, 1 TD, 1 fumble). The decline in Smiths play over the last four weeks has dramatically altered the Jets playoff hopes, and not for the better. 50. Defensive players with productive games: Dolphins DE OlivierVernon (10 tackles, 2.5 sacks); Raiders OLB NickRoach (11 tackles, 2 sacks); Packers CB SamShields (8 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PD); Steelers OLB JasonWorilds (10 tackles, 2 sacks); Jaguars S JohnathanCyprien (10 tackles, 1 sack); Colts ILB JerrellFreeman (9 tackles, 1 INT); Bears DE JuliusPeppers (8 tackles, 2.5 sacks); Vikings OLB ChadGreenway (10 tackles, 1 sack, 2 TFL); Jets FS DawanLandry (14 tackles); ILB DavidHarris (13 tackles, 1 TFL); Cardinals OLB KarlosDansby (9 tackles, 2 sacks); Cardinals DE MattShaughnessy (7 tackles, 1 sack, 3 TFL); Eagles MLB DeMecoRyans (9 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 PD); Eagles FS NateAllen (8 tackles, 1 INT); Buccaneers OLB LavonteDavid (9 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TFL); Bills ILB KikoAlonso (13 tackles, 1 PD); CB LeodisMcKelvin (10 tackles, 3 PD); Rams DT MichaelBrockers (7 tackles, 2 sacks); Bengals OLB VontazeBurfict (13 tackles), Bengals MLB ReyMaualuga (10 tackles, 1 sack); Chargers FS EricWeddle (7 tackles, 1 INT, 1 FR, 1 TFL); Saints MLB CurtisLofton (12 tackles, 2 TFL) Scott Cullen can be reached at Scott.Cullen@bellmedia.caand followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/tsnscottcullen. Tim Jennings . -- After enjoying the chance to watch Toronto beat Anaheim, the San Jose Sharks took advantage of a tired Maple Leafs team to move closer to the Ducks in the standings.CHICAGO -- The contending Atlanta Braves bolstered their bench and bullpen on Thursday, acquiring utilityman EmilioBonifacio and left-hander JamesRussell in a trade with the Chicago Cubs. The Braves also got cash back from the Cubs in exchange for catching prospect Victor Caratini. Bonifacio and Russell did not play in the Cubs 3-1 win over Colorado on Thursday afternoon. "These are two pieces that we really like," Atlanta GM Frank Wren said on a conference call. "In Bonifacio, we got a really versatile bench player who can do a lot of things well. In Russells case, its another veteran bullpen arm." Russell was in the home bullpen at Wrigley Field when the trade was made. He hugged several of his teammates and coaches -- and slapped hands with a few fans -- as he exited while the game was going on. "Its kind of hard to wrap your head around it," Russell said. "Its obviously a shock. I knew things were gonna happen. Theres really nothing you can do to prepare yourself for this. Its still kind of weird. I dont know how to feel. Theres a lot of excitement, a lot of mixed emotioons. Robbie Gould. " The 29-year-old Bonifacio hit .279 with 14 steals in 69 games for the Cubs this season. He previously played for Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez when they were both with the Marlins. "Hes a guy who gives you a lot of versatility. You can play him anywhere on the field," Gonzalez said in Los Angeles. "You can bring him off the bench or start him if the matchup is right. Hes a nice National League player." The 28-year-old Russell is 0-2 with one save and a 3.51 ERA in 44 games. "Hes not your traditional left-handed reliever," Gonzalez said. "You can let him run through some right-handers. Hes durable." Atlanta is in the chase for the NL East title, and the Cubs are last in the NL Central. The 20-year-old Caratini was selected by the Braves in the second round of the 2013 draft. He hit .279 with five homers and 42 RBIs in 87 games with Class A Rome this season. "Hes a guy we liked in the draft a lot," Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer. "Weve said it all along, catching is a weakness in our system and we dont have enough of it." cheap jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- Centre BrookLopez has broken a bone in his right foot again, leaving the Brooklyn Nets without their leading scorer as they try to turn around a disappointing season. Buccaneers #81 Jersey . The team said Saturday that Lopez was hurt during its 121-120 overtime loss at Philadelphia on Friday. The Nets said they would issue another update next week after consultation with their doctors. Lopez had the same injury, a fractured fifth metatarsal, when he was limited to five games in the 2011-12 season. He underwent surgery following last season to replace a bent screw in the foot. Lopez is averaging 20.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in 17 games. He has missed nine with a sprained left ankle. Though was no indication he was seriously injured Friday, when he played 44 minutes. The 7-footer from Stanford didnt miss a game during his first three seasons in the NBA, but hasnt made it through a full season since. He missed seven games last season when he sprained the same foot. The Nets are just 9-17 after entering the season with huge expectations. They have AndrayBlatche and ReggieEvans as possible replacements on the bench, or could move KevinGarnett to the centre position, as the Boston Celtics did last season. Buccaneers #87 Jersey . Anthony Calvillo, through 20 CFL seasons, was frequently invincible and largely stoic in the heat of competition. But underneath the professional exterior he was, and is, compellingly human. Buccaneers #50 Jersey . - The Abbotsford Heat hope a last-minute goal keeps their season alive for more than one extra game. Each week, the NHL on TSN panel voices its opinions on the hot topics of the day in the Wednesday Night Hockey Quiz. As a follow-up, TSN.ca offers you the opportunity to chime in on all the big issues with our insiders. Read up on all the questions and answers, and put in your own two cents on our popular Your Call feature. If you were an NHL team would you mandate thatyour players had to wear headgear during warm-up? Bob McKenzie: Ill say no, the rules police are out in full force but its really up to each individual to decide what it is they want to do. Marc Crawford: No, it is warm up and these are professionals.Theyre trying to get ready for the game and there is nothing wrong with having a little flair. AaronWard: Yes, The key to the question is "if you are an NHL team." If Im an employer paying these guys to perform and stay healthy in a league that is already struggling to keep guys healthy, for my commodities Im making a mandate on all guys coming in on a 2012 entry level contract they have to wear helmets in practice. For the guys presently playing and have a contract, leave them alone its their prerogative, let them figure it out themselves. We asked you this question Dec. 7 and ask again to see if anybody has changed his mind: With the benefit of hindsight, who should have been taken No. 1 in 2004: Ovechkin or Malkin? Crawford: Ovechkin (still), if he learned to diversify his attack his game would vastly improve.NHL defencemen know he likes to play a power game and tries to beat you wide with power. He needs to learn to diversify a little and change it up every once in a while, come late on the attack those sorts of things. I think hed become a premier player again. McKenzie: Malkin (still), with the benefit of hindsight, Malkins been the dominant player.Right now hes on course to win the Art Ross and maybe the MMVP as well. Louis Murphy Buccaneers Jersey. Ward: Malkin (now), Im putting down my Washington Capitals Kool-Aid and Im going back against what I said.Malkin in the absence of Crosby right now is the league leader in points.Hes a guy thats proven to be a good leader and hes forcing me to realize that in the absence of the Lone Ranger, Tonto is doing really well for himself. Pittsburgh has a good thing going with Malkin. Does NHL need to listen carefully to MikeRichards and scrap the penalty that calls for an additional two minute penalty for instigating with a visor on? Crawford: No, the NHL regularly reviews their rules and they have that in there so players dont instigate fights and he instigated that one.It was a clean hit and he was a good teammate. Ward: Yes, youre looking at a demographic of guys that are toughest to convince to wear a visor. If this is part of their game, and I agree that fighting has a role in the game, you are trying to say to these guys be safe, protect your eyes but you cant perform the duties that you should be doing. You are sending too much of a confusing message. McKenzie: No, either you wear a visor or you dont, thats your choice.Theres the rat factor, and MikeRichards is anything but a rat, but they dont want guys who wear visors going around trying to start a bunch of fights. Whats more likely to happen, DanielAlfredsson picking a Leaf or ZdenoChara picking a Sedin in the All-Star Fantasy Draft? Ward: Chara picking a Sedin. The guys are aware of where the game is at, the rivalry is not lost at them and I know Chara, hell do anything to win. Crawford:Alfredsson picking a Leaf. There are only two guys on the team that were involved in the Battle of Ontario, thats over. McKenzie: Neither, Hell will freeze over before either one of those guys will do that. cheap jerseys ' ' '

BUFFALO, N. Patriots Jersey .Y. - General manager Tim Murray decided defenceman ChristianEhrhoff and his hefty contract did not fit in his long-term vision for rebuilding the Buffalo Sabres. Former Sabres captain SteveOtt, on the other hand, just might. Fresh off clearing Buffalos books of the remaining seven years of Ehrhoffs contract, Murray is targeting veteran role players to augment his teams young roster once the NHLs free-agency period opens Tuesday. "Id like to acquire a couple of veteran guys who can play the game, but can also show our kids how to be pros," Murray said Monday. "So Im going to focus on at least two of those guys." And that makes Ott a candidate to return to Buffalo after he was part the Sabres trade that also sent goalie RyanMiller to St. Louis in February. Murray said Ott is on the teams list of free-agent candidates, and added hes had preliminary discussions with the players agent. Ott was expendable at the time of the trade because he was in the final year of his contract. Murray, who spoke highly of Otts leadership ability before the trade, was careful to make sure Ott left on good terms by dealing him to a contender. As for Ehrhoff, who signed a 10-year, $40 million contract three years ago, Murray said the defenceman wasnt interested in being part of the teams rebuilding process. The way Ehrhoffs contract was structured was another factor. Under NHL rules, the Sabres would have faced a significant salary-cap penalty if Ehrhoff retired before the final year of his deal. "This seemed to be the best course of action for us to move on, be out from under that contract," Murray said. "And now we dont have to worry about it. Now we just have to focus on rebuilding, bringing in good young players and get going here." Murray, who took over in January after Darcy Regier was fired, is taking a patient approach to rebuilding a team that is coming off one of the worst seasons in franchise history. Buffalo (21-51-10) finished last in the NHL standings, set a franchise record for losses and established a post-NHL-expansion-era low by scoring just 150 goals. Murray has set his sights on rebuilding through youth, a process that continued at the NHL draft last weekend. The Sabres made nine picks, starting with playmaking centre SamReinhart at No. 2 overall. Buffalo is scheduled to have three first-round picks in next years draft, which leaves Murray preaching patience. "We all want to speed things up. As soon as we got (Reinhart), I said I wish it was 2016. But its not. And you have to do it properly," Murray said. "Its not easy. Its hard. It takes a long time. And I think that were on the right track." Aside from convincing free agents to buy into his rebuilding plan, Murrays other challenge is upping the Sabres payroll to the NHL salary cap minimum of $51 million. The Sabres are currently at about $30 million after buying out Ehrhoff and the final three years of underperforming forward VilleLeinos contract two weeks ago. Murray is confident the Sabres will reach the cap minimum before the start of the season, and can do so without handcuffing the teams salary structure with expensive long-term contracts. "Im not worried about the floor," Murray said, and then broke into a smile while pointing to a reporter. "Ill sign you if I have to." The Sabres have extended qualifying offers to retain the rights of a number of restricted free agents, including centres TylerEnnis and LukeAdam, forward MarcusFoligno, defenceman ChadRuhwedel and goalie MattHackett. Defenceman JamieMcBain will become an unrestricted free agent after the Sabres did not extend him and offer. Rob Gronkowski Jersey . Bouchards high stick hit Blue Jackets winger MattCalvert in the face following a faceoff in the Wilds 4-2 season-opening victory over Columbus. Calvert lost teeth and needed stitches on his lip but returned and got an assist in the third period.Stevan Ridley Jersey . -- U.S. captain TomWatson said Monday that TigerWoods latest back injury "doesnt bode well right now" for Woods playing in the Ryder Cup. LONDON -- Manchester United bounced back from its derby humiliation by cruising to a 3-0 victory over forth-tier club Aldershot in the League Cup, while Arsenal overcame Premier League rival Bolton 2-1 to advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia scored Uniteds goals at Aldershot after being left out of the team that lost 6-1 to Manchester City on Sunday. "Sometimes you need a kick in the teeth to get going again," Owen said. "And we were eager to bounce back." Arsenal, which lost last seasons League Cup final to Birmingham, recovered from a goal down against Bolton, with Andrei Arshavin and Chu-Young Park securing the home sides progress. In Tuesdays other cup matches, Cardiff beat Burnley 1-0 while second-tier leader Southampton lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace. United had the perfect tonic after its heaviest home defeat in the league since 1955, with a completely changed team having little trouble disposing of the lowest-ranked side left in the League Cup. Berbatov netted his first goal of the season after 15 minutes after a one-two between Park Ji-sung and Tom Cleverley on the edge of the box ended with the Bulgaria striker slotting into the net. He turned provider just before half time, setting up Owens third goal of the campaign. The English forwards shot straight down the middle managed to beat goalkeeper Ross Worner. And the victory was put beyond doubt by Valencias fierce strike three minutes into the second half. "We were under a little bit of pressure after the result at the weekend," Owen said. "We had Uniteds reputation to look after . Chandler Jones Jersey. .. we wanted to bounce and thankfully we got the result." At Emirates Stadium, after a scoreless first half, the match went into overdrive after the interval, with three goals in less than 10 minutes. Bolton opened the scoring in the 48th, when Fabrice Muamba dispossessed Emmanuel Frimpong near the halfway line. Muamba turned and charged through the middle toward goal, exchanging passes with Darren Pratley before volleying past Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski from inside the area. Arsenal equalized six minutes later when Arshavins run down the right evaded Boltons defence and he curled a shot past Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan. Three minutes later, Arshavins run through the middle drew three Bolton defenders and the Russian passed to Park, who was alone on the left. The South Korea international curled a powerful shot past Bogdan to make it 2-1 in the 57th. Bolton had several chances to equalize, including in the 74th when Fabianski misjudged a shot from Chris Eagles and nearly pushed the ball over his head and into his own net. Arsenal centre back Thomas Vermaelen played his first match in two months following ankle surgery, but picked up a calf injury toward the end of the match. Manager Arsene Wenger said he didnt think the injury was serious, but that Vermaelen would likely miss the Premier League match against Chelsea on Saturday. There are four all-Premier League matches in the competition on Wednesday. Man City, which is five points clear at the top of the Premier League, travels to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Chelsea is at Everton, Stoke hosts Liverpool and Blackburn faces Newcastle. cheap jerseys ' ' '

SALT LAKE CITY -- GordonHayward had 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists to lead a balanced Utah Jazz offence in a 109-86 win over the slumping Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. Ryan Kalil Panthers Jersey . RichardJefferson scored 17 points and DianteGarrett had a career-high 15 points as the Jazz had seven players with 10 points or more in Utahs largest margin of victory this season. The Jazz shot 57.5 per cent from the field, the highest mark of any Phoenix opponent this season. GeraldGreen had 17 points and rookie ArchieGoodwin matched his career-best with 16 for the Suns. Playing their only road game in a nine-game stretch, the Suns have been looking to improve their playoff position. However, with a third straight loss, Phoenix leads Memphis by just one-half game the eighth and final Western Conference berth. Hayward, mired in a shooting slump (31 per cent in his previous 13 games), made plays all over the court in this one. Some fans chanted to put Hayward back in the game to get his first-ever triple-double. He just smiled as he watched the Jazz play the last 6:15 of the runaway win. GoranDragic did not dress due to a sprained ankle and the Suns missed his playmaking abilities. Dragic twisted his right ankle in the third quarter in a loss to Minnesota on Tuesday and will have the injury re-evaluated on Thursday. IshSmith had 13 points and five assists but the Jazz didnt respect his outside shooting and the defence wasnt spread like it would have been with Dragic. The Suns were 6 of 19 on 3-pointers. The Jazz turned a five-point lead into a 72-57 advantage thanks a 12-2 run and a 5:08 stretch where they held the Suns without a field goal. The Jazz broke it open in the fourth quarter as Garrett showed the skills he wished the Suns could have seen last season. Garrett was a late pickup for the Jazz this season after playing 19 games for Phoenix in 2012-13. Garrett had 11 points in the first five minutes of the fourth period to push the Jazz lead to 95-73. Derrick Favours scored 15 points in his second game back from a hip injury and AlecBurks scored 15 and JeremyEvans had 11 in reserve roles. The Jazz outscored the Suns 50-36 in the paint and were equally adept from beyond the arc, making 9 of 18 attempts. After allowing a 35-point fourth quarter against the Timberwolves on Tuesday, the Suns defence was again porous against the Jazz. Utah players often beat their Phoenix counterparts down the courts and were one step quicker to the hoop on drives. Though the Jazz are buried near the bottom of the Western Conference standings, the starting lineup of Jefferson, MarvinWilliams, Favors, Hayward and TreyBurke improved to 18-9 on the season. NOTES: Morris got a technical in the third quarter for yelling at official Zach Zarba after he was called for a foul on Jeffersons attempted dunk. ... The Suns largest lead was one point. ... The Jazz outscored the Suns in every quarter. ... Utahs previous biggest win this season was in a 122-101 victory at Sacramento on Dec. 11. ... Phoenix coach Jeff Hornacek played for the Jazz from 1994-2000 and served as an assistant coach with Utah from 2011-13. His No. 14 jersey number hangs in the rafters. The first-year franchise signed linebackers Brandon Denson and Jasper Simmons as well as defensive back Reggie Jones. Denson played his college football at Michigan State and has CFL experience, most recently with the Montreal Alouettes practice roster last year. Jones, a 27-year-old from Bellevue, Washington, comes to the CFLs newest franchise after spending parts of the past five seasons with New Orleans, Washington, Minnesota and Dallas of the NFL. The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed right-handed pitcher Matt Jackson to a one-year contract on Wednesday. Malcom Floyd Jersey . Jackson, 26, finished the 2013 campaign in Winnipeg after being released by the San Diego Padres. In seven appearances, including six starts, with the Goldeyes, Jackson went 3-0 with a 3.70 ERA. Three of his six starts were quality starts and Winnipeg was a perfect 6-0 when Jackson started the game. He also posted an impressive 7.4 strikeout-to-walk ratio. "I really liked what he did with us last year," said Goldeyes manager Rick Forney. "Hes very consistent. Hes a strike-thrower and has Double-A and Triple-A experience. He has great poise when hes out on the mound. We have high expectations of Matt. We think he can legitimately be a 10-game winner and throw 125 innings for us. Hes a very important piece to our starting rotation." A product of Bossier, La., Jackson was drafted by San Diego in the 31st round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft and played five seasons in their organization. He reached Class AAA Tucson in 2012 and didnt allow a run in two starts. In 12 appearances, including 10 starts, at the Class AA and Class AAA levels in 2012 and 2013, Jackson was 4-2 with a 3.64 ERA. The Goldeyes now have 13 players signed for the 2014 season, including seven pitchers and six position players. Eddie Royal Jersey . Greg Chase and Kenton Helgesen also scored for the Hitmen (18-7-4), who extended their win streak to five games, while Brady Brassart chipped in with two assists. Junior Seau Jersey . That four-game skid in early January seems as if its a long time ago. Kessel scored twice, JamesvanRiemsdyk had a goal and an assist and the Maple Leafs beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 on Tuesday night for their sixth straight win.OAKLAND The following is a question this writer did not expect to type this season: where would the Blue Jays be without the contribution of J.A.Happ? Happs seven wins are second on the staff to MarkBuehrles 10. Win-loss record is an antiquated stat, sure, but win total is generally an indication of a pitchers ability to work deep into games, enough to be personally affected by the result. Efficiency has been an issue for Happ during his time in Toronto. Hes acquired a reputation as a five-inning pitcher, driven prematurely from outings because hes plodded along to 100 pitches far too soon. Its gotten late, often, far too early. Something has changed. Suddenly, in more starts than not, Happ is working deep, positively affecting the result. When he returned to the rotation on May 5 in Philadelphia, Happs future was being determined on a start-to-start basis. The leash is now longer. Since being acquired from the Astros in July 2012, Happ has been a starter and a reliever; hes been injured, first with a fractured foot two seasons ago and then with head and knee injuries last year, the result of a horrifying line drive off his skull on May 7, 2013 in Tampa Bay. His back flared up in spring training, resulting in a horrible March that cost him his spot in the rotation and landed him on the disabled list for opening day. There have been periods of self doubt, he admitted to TSN.ca. "I certainly would be lying if I said no to that," said Happ. "Last year there was a point where I tried to talk to (pitching coach) Pete (Walker) one on one and was just like, What have you got? I know Im capable of more and Im willing to do whatever it takes to get over the hump. I never thought I was far away but I just couldnt quite get over the hump for whatever reason. It comes and goes and it still does." Happ is a quiet guy. He doesnt say much, at least not when media have access to the players. Nobody would accuse Happ of seeking the limelight. He laughed in spring training, after he was away from the team for two days to deal with the back problem, when it was pointed out to him that a guy so quiet couldnt seem to avoid controversy. Hes heard the talk and hes read the articles. He knows he has his critics and his doubters; hes been one himself. Happ isnt bitter. "I think you write what you see and if thats what you see then thats your interpretation and understanding," said Happ. "Thats how this thing works. I cant be mad at anybody for what they feel like or whatever. I just know what I knew, or know, Im capable of so thats why I try to defend myself in situations where Im maybe not in a position where Id like to be." Happ has allies in two of important places: the managers and coaches offices, where John Gibbons and pitching coach PeteWalker reside. Gibbons has consistently defended his left-hander, quick to point out Happs ordeal last season and confident that a slight arm slot adjustment ultimately would pay off. "Ive always been a fan of the guy," said Gibbons. "Ive always known what hes capable of, but the bottom line is hes got to go out and do that. Hes had his ups and downs along the way but eeverybody in the game at this level, I mean, very few guys take this game by storm year after year. Custom Chargers Jersey. quot; "I think hes comfortable in that slot right now," said Walker. "Its not as high as it used to be and its not as low as he first started when we dropped him down. Its kind of that in-between slot and I think hes really comfortable throwing there. I think hes in a good place physically and mentally he looks forward to that ball every five days." Happ has been told to attack the strike zone. Hes been told to pitch to contact. Hes been told to more aggressively use his fastball. Hes doing both. Consider this: in his start against the White Sox on June 26, a 7-0 win in which he went 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball, Happ threw 124 pitches, 111 of which were fastballs. The relationship with Walker is an important one to Happ, forged when he joined the Blue Jays two years ago. Walker was the bullpen coach at the time. Happ was a reliever who believed he should be a starter. The two meshed. "Hes a guy that I always felt like he felt that I was capable of more and expected more and kind of knew that it was in there," said Happ. "I know thats kind of part of his job and he probably does it to everybody but hes very good at individualizing things and I always felt like he kind of had my back and I felt the same way about Gibby too. Maybe thats the reason why Im still here." There will be future outings when Happ struggles. The aim, of course, is to turn those into the exception rather than the rule. That June 21 start in Cincinnati, for example. Happ got rapped for seven earned runs in four innings. He bounced back with that gem against the White Sox and a strong start against the Brewers. The doubters who believed Happ, version Cincinnati, was the real guy were forced to reconsider. So if this is the real Happ, what happened? Why did a left-handed pitcher with a mid-90s fastball lack mound presence? Why did it appear that he didnt trust his repertoire? "Any answer to this is going to sound like an excuse and thats the last thing I want it to be," said Happ. "I let myself get caught up in a situation, playing on a team that wasnt very successful and I allowed that to affect me mentally as much I tried to not (let it). I think I probably got into some bad habits." Those bad habits were both mental and mechanical. Success, however, breeds confidence. Happ has had some success. His body language on the mound projects confidence. Maybe Yogi Berra was right when he suggested that 90 per cent of baseball is half mental. "Youve got to believe and youve got to really believe that you guys have got a chance out there in order for it to happen," said Happ. "You cant just wish things to happen in this game. They just dont. Youve got to go make it happen. I had a tough couple of years trying to kind of find myself and who I think I should be and I feel good about getting in a place where my body feels good, my mechanics feel good and Im just a little more free in everything. I felt like I had to be perfect for a lot of the time for things to go right and thats just not the case." cheap jerseys ' ' '

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Jets have claimed defenceman KeatonEllerby off waivers. Kyle Fuller . Ellerby was placed on waivers by the Los Angeles Kings on Friday. The 24-year-old has 20 career points and 86 career penalty minutes in 160 NHL games with the Florida Panthers and the Kings. He has also appeared in six NHL playoff games, collecting two penalty minutes. The Strathmore, Alta., native was originally drafted by the Panthers in the first round, 10th overall, of the 2007 NHL Draft. Kyle Long . She will play Madison Keys for her fourth career title, after the American teenager defeated Britains Heather Watson 6-3, 6-1. Kerber, who finished as runner-up to Tamira Paszek in 2012, challenged her Danish opponent throughout the 2-hour, 39-minute semifinal of fiercely contested baseline rallies. "We had such tough battles in the past and today," Kerber said. "You know actually before you walk on court it will be a tough one. "You will run a lot, so, you know, you just prepare your mind to be there for every single point, and just try to play your best tennis against her." Wozniacki, at first, held the upper hand by being the more aggressive player as she frequently came to the net, but after holding off three break points as she served out the opening set her challenge began to lose its iintensity. Walter Payton. Kerber held a set point at 5-4 before winning the last six points of the tiebreaker to claim the second set, and in the third she finished strongly by sweeping five of the last six games. "I probably should have closed it in two sets, being up a break and then being up in the tiebreaker," Wozniacki said. "But, you know, it happens. Im looking forward to Wimbledon now." She was also in a good frame of mind after her engagement to golfer RoryMcIlroy was ended. "Life throws you things that you didnt expect, but you just have to embrace it and move forward," she said. "It makes you stronger. Im in a good place right now." Keys, the youngest player in the top 50 at 19, will be contesting her first WTA final after previously being stopped in the semis three times. She fought off three break points before taking the opening set with a single break, and a further break for 2-1 set her firmly on the way to victory. cheap jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- San Diegos AndrewCashner won and Clevelands VinniePestano lost as pitchers split decisions Saturday in baseballs first salary arbitration cases in two years. Allen Iverson Jersey . Cashner will make $2.4 million rather than the clubs offer of $2,275,000 -- the smallest gap this year among cases that didnt settle. Pestano, among four Indians left in arbitration, will make $975,000 instead of his request for $1.45 million. Cleveland outfielder MichaelBrantley and right-handers JustinMasterson and JoshTomlin are among the 13 players left in arbitration from among the 146 who filed last month, and hearings are scheduled through Feb. 20. Right-hander JeffSamardzija and the Chicago agreed Saturday to a one-year deal worth $5,345,000. He had asked for $6.2 million and had been offered $2,765,000 by the Cubs after going 8-13 with a 4.34 ERA last year, when he made $2,765,000. Cashner, a 27-year-old right-hander was 10-9 with a 3.09 ERA in 26 starts and five relief appearances last season, when he made $500,800. Arbitrators Gil Vernon, Elizabeth Neumeister and Robert Herzog made the decision a day after hearing arguments in St. Petersburg, Fla. Pestano, a right-hander who turns 29 on Feb. 20, was 1-2 with a 4.08 ERA in 37 relief appearances last year and made $501,900. His case was decided by arbitrators Matt Irvings, Matt Goldberg and Steven Wolf. Cleveland had not been to a hearing since 1991, when pitcher GregSwindell beat the Indians and infielder Jerry Browne lost. Baseball is having its first salary arbitration hearings in two years. Last year was the first time all cases settled without any hearings. No player had gone to a hearing since Feb. 15, 2012, when Pittsburgh outfielder GarrettJones argued his case against the Pirates in a case won by the club the following day. CAIRO, Egypt -- Ghana qualified for its third straight World Cup, defeating Egypt on 7-3 aggregate with a 2-1 loss Tuesday that knocked out the Pharaohs and American coach Bob Bradley. Jarrett Boykin Packers Jersey . Trailing 6-1 from the first leg last month, Egypt took a 2-0 lead on goals by Amr Zaki in the 25th minute and Gedo in the 84th. Kevin Prince-Boateng scored for Ghana on a counterattack in the 89th. Egypt has not qualified for the World Cup since 1990, and Bradley said he would leave if his team didnt qualify. Ghana also eliminated Bradleys U.S. team in the second round of the 2010 tournament. A quarterfinalist three years ago, Ghana joined Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Nigeria as Africas representatives at Junes World Cup in Brazil. Burkina Faso had a chance to make it a sweep for west Africa when it played Algeria later Tuesday. About 30,000 were at Air Defence Stadium for the first international match in the Egyptian capital since 2011. It was among the first games in Egypt with a crowd of that size since the Port Said riot last year, when more than 70 people were killed. It was played on the second anniversary of some of the worst clashes between protesters and police near Cairos Tahrir Square, on the other side of the city. While there were some scuffles near the square Tuesday, there appeared to be no trouble at the game. About 200 Ghanaian fans in the stadium sang and waved flags to celebrate their countrys qualification Packers #53 Jersey . Packers #91 Jersey .J. -- The New York Giants are not only back in the playoff hunt with a four-game winning streak, theyre calling the plays that get them those wins. LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears agreed to a one-year contract with two-time Pro Bowl cornerback CharlesTillman on Friday, retaining one of their cornerstone players as they try to revitalize a struggling defence. Tillmans status was one of the biggest questions hovering over the team this off-season after the Bears went 8-8 and missed the playoffs for the sixth time in seven years. But they answered that by announcing he will be back for a 12th season. The Bears have been overhauling a defence that struggled in a big way last season, releasing eight-time Pro Bowl defensive end JuliusPeppers. They decided to bring back Tillman even though he is 33 and coming off a season in which he was limited to eight games because of a torn right triceps. "Charles is one of the NFLs great players and a true leader on and off the field, and were happy he will be staying in Chicago," general manager Phil Emery said in a statement. "He remains the best in our game at forcing turnovers and always has brought a tough, physical presence to our secondary. Charles also has a special connection to the people and community across Chicago and were excited for that to continue." The Bears saw enough good things before he went down to re-sign Tillman. He haad three interceptions, four pass breakups and three forced fumbles, but his injury in a loss to Detroit on Nov. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Packers Jersey. 10 cut short what had been another solid season. The Bears had already lost defensive tackle HenryMelton (ACL tear) and linebacker D.J.Williams (torn pectoral muscle) to season-ending injuries. Star linebacker LanceBriggs (shoulder fracture) was also sidelined at the time. Quarterback JayCutler suffered a high left ankle sprain against the Lions and missed the next four games. Tillmans 42 forced fumbles are the second most in the league and most among cornerbacks since the Bears drafted him in the second round in 2003. He is also tied for fifth in interceptions, fifth in interception return yards and tied for second in interception return touchdowns during that span. Now, Tillman is returning to a defence that will have a different look up front, personnel-wise. The Bears have two new ends in WillieYoung and LamarrHouston, and theyve also added RyanMundy and M.D.Jennings to the mix at safety. Whether Melton, a free agent, will be back remains unclear. But the Bears appear to be set at cornerback for next season after retaining Tillman and giving TimJennings a four-year deal. cheap jerseys ' ' '

Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington are the cities still in the running for a possible U. Saints #50 Jersey .S. bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. A person briefed on the U.S. Olympic Committees decision-making process told The Associated Press on Friday that all four cities are still in consideration. The person requested anonymity because the USOC has not made an official announcement. Los Angeles hosted the 1932 and 1984 Olympics. The other three cities would be first-time hosts. But theres an arduous and expensive process facing any potential bid city before the International Olympic Committee awards the games in 2017. Over the next six months, the USOC will decide whether it even wants to try to host the Olympics. The last two U.S. candidates both suffered humiliating fourth-place finishes: New York for the 2012 Olympics and Chicago for the 2016 Games that went to Rio de Janeiro If the USOC goes ahead with the bid, the U.S. city would find itself in a spirited battle. Paris, Rome, Doha and Istanbul are among those that could enter the race. The IOC has also long stated a desire to bring the Olympics to Africa for the first time. Some inside the USOC feel the time is right for a bid, now that the federation has made progress in shoring up some of its international relationships, which were frayed in 2009 when Chicago finished last in the voting for the 2016 Games. The USOC is waiting to see what sort of changes the IOC might make in the bidding process when it meets later this year. New IOC President Thomas Bach is asking the committee to build a new roadmap for the Olympics, and the way the IOC handles bids is expected to be on that agenda. "We clearly want to see output from that working group and what changes are adopted before we push the go button on 2024," USOC chairman Larry Probst said earlier this week. Saints #13 Jersey . In fact, cranky would best describe the Celtics mood as they packed for a trip home to play Milwaukee on Wednesday. "It was a win, thats all it was for us," Boston coach Doc Rivers said. Thomas Morstead Saints Jersey . Hell be hard-pressed to match an unbeaten streak like this, though. Tanaka had his unbeaten regular-season run snapped at 42 starts, allowing a career-high four runs in six innings, and the Chicago Cubs beat the New York Yankees 6-1 on Tuesday night.PHOENIX -- A trip to the desert was enough to get the Chicago Bulls back on track. CarlosBoozer had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and the Bulls snapped the Phoenix Suns five-game winning streak with a 101-92 victory on Tuesday night. The Bulls shot 45 per cent from the field and had five players score in double figures, bouncing back from an ugly 99-70 loss at Sacramento on Monday. The Bulls shot 28 per cent and were outrebounded 53-30 against the Kings. One night later, it was a completely different story. "You could have used an excuse if you chose to do so, but thats what I love about the team," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. "They come out and theyre going to fight. They picked themselves up and did it together and you could tell in the first quarter the commitment to get back, the commitment to get to put their bodies in front of people and take charges, make hustle plays, make effort plays." JimmyButler and D.J.Augustin had 18 points apiece for the Bulls, who won for the fifth straight time in Phoenix. JoakimNoah, who was ejected in the third quarter of the loss at Sacramento, had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Chicago (24-24) had dropped three of four, including an 88-79 loss at New Orleans on Saturday. "We got punched in the mouth in New Orleans, we got punched in the mouth in Sacramento and we just wanted to come out and compete for 48 minutes as a team," Noah said. The Bulls kept the Suns prolific offence in check, holding them 13 points under their average even though Phoenix (29-19) was coming off two days rest. Boozer didnt play for much of the fourth quarter as Chicago went mainly with TajGibson as an interior defender, but his teammates did damage on offence down the stretch. Augustin had three fourth-quarter 3-pointers to help keep the Bulls in front. Noah also had a couple of key baskets in the final period. Butlers 3-pointer with 4:43 to play gave the Bulls an 89-80 lead, but GoranDragic hit a 3 and LeandroBarbosa, playing extended minutes with sharpshooter GeraldGreen struggling, drove for a layup to cut the lead to 89-85. Then Butler and Noah came up with back-to-back baskets, and the Suns rally fizzled. Drragic, the reigning Western Conference player of the week, led Phoenix with 24 points. Benjamin Watson Saints Jersey. It was the guards fifth straight game with 20 or more points. ChanningFrye had 18, and Barbosa scored nine of his 13 in the fourth quarter. "We gave up so much easy stuff," Dragic said. "We didnt bring it, no energy and we didnt do smart plays. They did not let us run our actions. They were denying our big guys. It was just hard to pass and cut." Down 13 points in the third quarter, the Suns went on a 13-4 run to close to 50-46 on Dragics driving layup at the 9-minute mark. The Bulls went up by 11 on a follow by Boozer, but the Suns cut the lead to 60-55 on a pair of Dragic free throws with 4:36 left. MikeDunleavy scored eight of his 11 points in the third quarter, helping Chicago carry a 69-63 lead into the fourth. The game started with a brisk pace, but the Suns missed more shots and had more turnovers in what turned out to be an offensively deficient first quarter. So low that the 13 points for Phoenix was its lowest total in a first quarter this season. "Thats the difference of a team that really gets after it defensively and makes it tough on all the shots," Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. "They took us out of our stuff but we let them do whatever they wanted." Boozer had eight points and five rebounds to help Chicago to a 21-13 lead after one. NOTES: Noah was fined $15,000 by the NBA for verbally abusing officials after he was ejected Monday in Sacramento. Noah started Tuesday nights game. "I never thought it warranted suspension, so it was probably appropriate," Thibodeau said. "He got fined for cursing." ... Noah has 22 double-doubles and Boozer 15 this season . Suns players MarkieffMorris, Dragic and Green were assessed technical fouls. ... The Suns never led on Tuesday after being in front for all but 1:59 of the 192 total minutes of the previous four games . Suns guard EricBledsoe missed his bobblehead night with a right knee injury. ... A bird got into the US Airways Center seating bowl during the second quarter and flew a lap around the court and into the upper deck before finding its way out. cheap jerseys ' ' '
