CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Alabama star quarterback A. Rod Streater Jersey .J. McCarron signed Thursday with the Cincinnati Bengals. A fifth-round selection, McCarron led the Crimson Tide to two national championships, setting several school passing records. But his arm strength was questioned by many pro teams, and he slid to 164th overall in the draft. McCarron will be a backup to four-year veteran AndyDalton, who has gotten Cincinnati to the playoffs in each of his three pro seasons. But the Bengals are 0-3 in post-season games with Dalton. After being drafted, McCarron said: "Im confident in myself but at the same time, I know Andys the QB out there and I respect that." Cincinnati also signed cornerback Lavelle Westbrooks, a seventh-round pick out of Georgia Southern. The Bengals have signed four of their eight draft selections. Al Davis Raiders Jersey . KyrieIrving scored 22 points and the Cavaliers won their sixth straight game, 101-93 over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Jason Hunter Jersey . Make that 2-40 now. Tony Gwynn Jr. led off the ninth with a walk against Miami closer SteveCishek and later scored, BenRevere added the go-ahead run when Miami second baseman DonovanSolano bobbled a potential double-play grounder and the Phillies rallied past the Marlins 5-4 Thursday night to snap a six-game losing streak.Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca. Hi Ref! Been a long time Sens fan and stuck with them through the ups and downs. Ive always liked the fact that theyve made no excuses for their wins and their losses but their game with the Habs has me a tad irate with the what appears to be inconsistent calls. For example, there were a couple goalie interference calls against the Sens, like it or not, they were called, yet there were at least two non-calls for RobinLehner being bumped including the game-tying goal at the end of regulation. Im not even going to go on about the non-call on the dive that caused that power play. My question is this: In the replay of the game-winning OT goal, the play moved into Ottawas end, a shot was taken that was stopped by Lehner and the puck was in/on/around his pads. The overhead camera angle showed the puck on the ice, not covered for a few seconds and then it was jammed in. Unless the referee is 35 feet tall and looking straight down at that angle, there is no way he could have even seen the puck free as the goalie had his back to him and there was a scrum of players there. Yet there was no stoppage even with the puck out of his sight for over five seconds (according to the game clock) and he later told Spezza that he didnt blow the whistle because of the noise level in the building. I would like to know if theres any disciplinary action for a referee who blows a call like that and then makes a "its too noisy to hear the whistle" comment as an excuse? Roger Smallman,St. Catharines, ON---Hello,I just wanted some clarification - I thought when the goalie has the puck covered, the ref has to blow the whistle. Its my understanding that if the goalie has the puck covered, then an opposing player cannot jam at the goalie to knock the puck loose! Is that true or not?Josh KnowlesRoger and Josh, Thank you for your questions following a very emotionally charged come-from-behind overtime victory by the Montreal Canadiens over the visiting Ottawa Senators. I want to share a general philosophy and understanding as to when the referee should blow the whistle. There is a misconception by some fans that a puck must be frozen for three seconds before the referee should deem it unplayable and then blow his whistle. This stems from language in Rule 85.2 when a puck falls onto the back of the goal netting and the referee is specifically directed to allow three seconds for it to be played unless the goalkeeper uses his stick or glove to freeze the puck on the back of the net, in which case the whistle is immediate. This three second application is also generally applied to determine a "frozen" puck between opposing players along the boards; although we often see the refs encourage play to continue with a non-whistle and audible command to "play it". The philosophy employed to kill play in and around the goal crease is somewhat consistent with Rule 69 (Interference on the Goalkeeper.) This rule was formerly called "Protection of the Goalkeeper" for good reason by recognizing, in part, the vulnerability of a goalkeeper given his unique position and the obvious impairment to defend his goal that would result through player contact. As such, the referee must first determine that the goalkeeper has control and coverage of the puck prior to his intent to blow the play dead in order to avoid a quick whistle. Of equal importance, is for a ref to be aware that an attacking player(s) does not dislodge or expose a covered puck by contacting the goalkeeper with a stick or any part of the body! Rule 85.3 (puck out of sight) states that should a scramble take place or a player accidentally fall on the puck and the puck be out of sighht of the Referee, he shall immediately blow his whistle to stop the play. Fred Biletnikoff Jersey. Truth is, there are many times during a scramble that the referee loses sight of the puck but does not blow his whistle immediately while he moves in an attempt to visually locate the puck. Every referee has had the embarrassment of blowing his whistle too quickly, only to have the puck slip through the goalies equipment and into the net causing a legitimate goal to be disallowed. Previous embarrassments such as this are always in the back of the refs mind. To avoid the quick whistle, but also to be aware of the potential for players to dislodge a covered puck, the referee must attack the net quickly from the best angle and react quickly to potential contact of the goalkeeper. Lets apply the above philosophies to the reality of the eventual winning goal scored by FrancisBouillon. MaxPacioretty, who was being checked by JaredCowen, threw the puck at the Ottawa net from the bottom middle point of the end zone face-off circle to the left of goalie RobinLehner. The shot was gobbled up in the right pad of Lehner, protected and appeared to be covered by Lehners blocker. The referee began to drive toward the net from his initial position some 30 feet from the right post. The closest Montreal player to the net, DavidDesharnais, was at the bottom of the end zone face-off T some 20 feet away and positioned on the outside of Sens player BobbyRyan. CodyCeci approached the centre of the goal crease from 15 feet out. This distance of other players from the net creates time and space for the goalkeeper to control and cover the puck. With all these parts of the puzzle moving quickly toward Lehner, who remained in a stationary position tight to the post with his blocker and stick down in front of the right goal pad throughout, my radar as a ref would go on high alert! The very last thing I would want to have happen is for the goalkeeper to be contacted and the puck dislodged. From the sight line the referee had at the time (and the multiple camera angles shown), I find it hard to imagine the puck was visible to him or anyone else at this point. Desharnais stepped to the inside of Ryan and jammed at Lehner with his stick and body as his momentum took the Hab forward behind the net. Ceci then made contact with the right side of his goalkeeper causing Lehners blocker to elevate off the ice and rotate. The contact by both players altered the position of Lehner sufficiently to expose the puck in front of Lehners pad. At this point, the puck would be clearly visible to the referee from his position closer to the net and as detected on the overhead camera shot. Pacioretty then came in hard from the side and jammed the puck outside the crease for an easy layup for Bouillon. When players crash the crease and jam at the goalkeeper, bad things usually happen. Typically, the refs will exercise the philosophy I described above and blow the whistle in advance of any deliberate contact exerted by an attacking player. This play was allowed to continue too long without visible evidence of the puck being uncovered prior to the contact exerted by Desharnais and then Ceci. In my judgment Josh, the whistle should have blown prior to that contact. Roger, if Stephen Walkom, Sr. V.P. of Officiating assessed this play as I did, he will review and discuss the play with the referee and make suggestions as to how a similar situation should be ruled upon in the future. There is no disciplinary action in place for officials beyond the ongoing rating and ranking system that every official is subjected to for playoff assignments and ongoing employment. One call or one game does not greatly impact the overall season performance rating of any official. Great calls are made and some are unfortunately missed. Thats the human element of the job. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

PHILADELPHIA -- Former heavyweight champion Joe Frazier is battling the liver cancer that has put him under hospice care. Drew Smyly Tigers Jersey . The 67-year-old boxer sleeps for most the day but is coherent when awake, his personal and business manager said. Leslie Wolff, who has been Fraziers manager for seven years, said Frazier has been flooded with get-well messages from former boxers and fans. Wolff tells The Associated Press some fans have offered to donate a liver. "There is evidence that there are certain people that fight much harder than other people, and in doing so, they last longer," Wolff said Monday. "They have the heart of a champion. Joe aint no quitter. Even in this struggle, hes showing people you dont give up." Frazier was diagnosed last month with the disease. His manager says the boxer had been in out and out of the hospital since early October and has been receiving hospice treatment the last week. The documentary "Joe Frazier: When the Smoke Clears" will be screened Tuesday night at the DocNYC festival in New York. "No matter what happens, we must make sure his legacy stays alive," Wolff said. Wolff said doctors have not yet told Frazier how long he has to live. Wolff, who dismissed false reports all weekend that Frazier had died, denied a story he wanted to send Frazier to Russia for treatment. Wolff said he contacted doctors there only for ideas for other potential treatments to fight the disease. "We just want to see whats out there to see what can be done here," he said. Frazier was the first man to beat Muhammad Ali, knocking him down and taking a decision in the so-called Fight of the Century in 1971. He would go on to lose two more fights to Ali, including the epic "Thrilla in Manila" bout. Frazier won the heavyweight title in 1970 by stopping Jimmy Ellis in the fifth round of their fight at Madison Square Garden. He defended it successfully four times before George Foreman knocked him down six times in the first two rounds to take the title from him in 1973. Frazier would never be heavyweight champion again. Frazier has not allowed anyone to see him except his immediate family and associates. "Hes in no shape to have any visitors, nor does he want any," Wolff said. AUGUSTA, Ga. Joe Maddon Jersey . - BillyHorschel won the Zurich Classic two weeks after the Masters last year, and thus became first on the list of players who earned their first trip to Augusta National. He just had no idea how long the list would grow. DerekErnst won at Quail Hollow. HarrisEnglish won in Memphis. Throw in the six amateurs, and then cap it off with MattJones being the last man in by winning the Shell Houston Open. The final tally is a record 24 players who will be making their debut at the Masters this year. This is the 78th Masters, and only three players have won on their maiden voyage around this pristine golf course. Horton Smith won the first one in 1934. Gene Sarazen won the following year. It then took 45 years to get another Masters rookie in a green jacket Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979. There hasnt been another one since, although the odds have never been better. Nearly 25 per cent of the field is at the Masters for the first time. Smith gets overlooked as a "Masters rookie," and rightly so. All 72 players were rookies that year. Here are the best five performances by players at Augusta National for the first time: 5. JASONDAY: He qualified for his first Masters by winning the Byron Nelson Championship for his first PGA Tour victory. The 23-year-old Australian was loaded with far more talent than victories to show for it, but he took a liking to a course that had never produced a champion from Down Under. Day shot an 8-under 64 in the second round to get within two shots of the lead, and the only reason he didnt get more attention was because 21-year-old RoryMcIlroy was ahead of him. And they played in the same group, along with 22-year-old RickieFowler. This was in 2011, the year McIlroy lost a four-shot lead with an 80 in the final round. Day hung around to the very end, and when he finished with a birdie for a 68, he was tied for the clubhouse lead with AdamScott. Behind them was CharlSchwartzel, who took the outright lead with a birdie on the 17th and rolled in his fourth straight birdie on the final hole for a two-shot win. Day went home with a silver medal as a runner-up in his debut. 4. HUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM: JohnHuston became known as the most feared player in golf on Tuesday in money games with the pros. He won seven times on the PGA Tour, the first won coming in 1990 that made him eligible for his first Masters. He opened with a 66, leaving him two shots behind Mike Donald. And while he followed with a 74 in the second round, he still trailed by only two shots. Huston had a 68 in the third round to stay within two shots of former Masters champion Raymond Floyd. Better yet, he was in the final group, giving him an excellent chance to become the first Masters rookie to win since Zoeller. Alas, Huston fell back with a 75 on the final round. The winner came from back in the pack Nick Faldo made up four shots on Floyd with six holes to play, and then won on the second extra hole when Floyd hit into the water on No. 11. Huston tied for third in his debut. He played the Masters 12 more times and never had a higher finish. 3. POHLS CLOSE CALL: Dan Pohl made an inauspicious debut in 1982 when he opened with a pair of 75s. That would have missed the cut at most other Masters, but not this one. Conditions were tough by rain the opening two days, leading to the highest cut (10-over 154) in Masters history. He was still six shots behind. Pohl, the longest hitter on tour, followed with a 67 on Saturday on the strength of back-to-back eagles on the 13th and 14th holes, though he still was six shots out of the lead. And even with the low score of the final round another 67 it didnt appear to do much good. CraigStadler was six shots ahead going to the back nine until the Walrus started dropping shots. Stadler wound up with a 73, and suddenly Pohl was in a sudden-death playoff. It didnt last long. Pohl missed a 6-foot par putt on the first playoff hole at No. 10, and Stadler made par to win. Pohl had to settle for silver. 2. THE SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD: Gene Sarazen hit the shot that put the Masters on the map and won at Augusta National in his first try. But being a "rookie" at the Masters wasnt that big of a deal. The Augusta National Invitation Tournament was only in its second year. Sarazen missed the inaugural event, and this "rookie" had already won six majors, the first of them 13 years earlier. Still, what he did that day cannot be overlooked and will not be forgotten. Trailing by three shots, he hit 4-wood into the hole for an albatross on the par-5 15th hole to force a playoff with Craig Wood. In the only 36-hole playoff in Masters history, Sarazen shot even-par 144 to win by five. He remains the only player to complete the career Grand Slam at Augusta National. 1. FUZZYS FIRST MAJOR: Zoeller whistled his way into the record books as the first major champion to win a sudden-death playoff. The Masters went away from the traditional 18-hole playoff in 1979, and it turned out to be memorable. Much like Pohl, Zoeller was never really in the picture until someones misfortune on the back nine. Zoeller was six shots behind going into the last round and closed with a 70. It looked like it would be a good debut at the Masters, nothing more. That was before Ed Sneed, who had a three-shot lead with three holes to play, finished with three bogeys. That led to a three-man playoff among Sneed, Zoeller and former Masters champion TomWatson. On the second playoff hole, Zoeller knocked in a birdie putt and leapt into the air to celebrate. Was it a big deal for a Masters rookie to win? "They didnt bring up until the next year," Zoeller said. Jake McGee Jersey.J.Miles are out for Tuesdays game against Sacramento because of injuries. Wade Davis Jersey . Stamkos suffered a broken leg 10 weeks ago and continues to rehab in hopes of returning to the Tampa Bay Lightning lineup before the Olympic break. As a result of the positive feedback from the X-ray, Stamkos will continue to ramp up both on- and off-ice workouts.TORONTO -- LandryFields is about to put one of his other talents to the test. BOSTON -- The Phoenix Suns needed help to snap a three-game losing streak that hurt their post-season prospects. wholesale nfl jerseys . They got it when the Boston Celtics had their worst shooting game of the season. The Suns still had to finish well and they did by scoring the last seven points for an 87-80 win Friday night that moved them one game behind Memphis for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot. "Our offence wasnt very good," Phoenix coach Jeff Hornacek said. "Defence, when you arent shooting the ball well, can win you the game and I think it did tonight." The Suns scored just 58 points in the last three quarters. But the Celtics made a season-low 30.9 per cent of their shots and missed 65. Boston coach Brad Stevens was especially upset with his teams play after JeffGreens two free throws for the Celtics made it 80-80 with 2:02 left, the fourth tie of the fourth quarter. "We didnt play with any poise," he said. "The last 40 seconds were awful." AlexLen started the decisive spurt with a three-point play on a tip-in and a free throw with 54.1 seconds left. The Suns (37-28) finished the scoring with a dunk by MarkieffMorris and a layup by GoranDragic, who led them with 20 points. Before the season people said "we were going to have 15, 16 wins," Dragic said. "We dont care if its pretty or ugly. We need to have those wins." EricBledsoe had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Morris added 15 points for Phoenix. KrisHumphries led the Celtics with 11 points, 13 rebounds and one thrown towel while on the bench when they collapsed in the final minute. "Hes upset because we lost and he certainly has got a right to be," Stevens said. "That was not a good ending. It was not a good performance." ChrisJohnson also scored 11 for the Celtics, but threw a bad pass that was stolen by P.J.Tucker and led to the dunk by Morris with 23.1 seconds to play. The 7-foot-1 Len put the Suns ahead to stay after entering the game in the fourth quarter when MilesPlumlee went out after being poked in the eye. The rookie centre was averaging just 2.4 points and 9.1 minutes per game before Friday but finished with six points and three rebounds in nine minutes. "Obviously, the tip was huge," Hornacek said, "but I think (with) just his size in there, he does a nice job of sliding his feet and getting in a good position, making guys shoot over him." The Celtics lost for the 10th time in 13 games while shooting worse than their previous low for the season of 32.3 per cent in a 109-85 loss to the Houston Rockets on Nov. 19. They trailed 64-60 after the third quarter, but scored the first nine points of the fourth to take a 69-64 lead on AveryBradleys layup. Then the Suns went back in front, 70-69 with six straight points, but the Celtics pulled ahead 78-75 with 3:17 remaining before the Suns tied it on Bledsoes three-point play. The Suns led by 10 in the first quarter and by 11 when they took a 38-27 lead with 8:34 left in the second quarter. Then a layup by RajonRondo began a 17-6 run by the Celtics that tied the game at 44 with 59 seconds remaining in the half. Two free throws by ChanningFrye with 26 seconds to go put Phoenix on top 46-44 at intermission. Both teams went cold from the field in the third quarter. Boston made 4 of 20 shots and Phoenix hit 7 of 21. But the Celtics trailed by only four after KellyOlynyk got an offensive rebound and sank a short jumper from the left baseline at the buzzer. Their fourth-quarter finish was much worse. "We kind of got a bit antsy there at the end," Olynyk said. "I think we kind of rushed a bit." NOTES: Bradley missed his previous 13 games with a right ankle injury. ... Bledsoe played his second game after missing 33 following knee surgery. ... The Hurricanes were suitably impressed, but they didnt stand a chance when the NHLs best were playing their best. CoreyPerry had two goals and an assist in the first period, AndrewCogliano scored a short-handed goal, and the Ducks jumped to an early 5-0 lead in their second straight victory out of the Olympic break. FrederikAndersen made 49 saves in his first action since Feb. 3 for the league-leading Ducks, who scored three times in an overwhelming first period filled with sharp passes, relentless skating and outstanding finishes. "We were as good as we can be," said Boudreau, who won his 100th game in Anaheim. FrancoisBeauchemin and JakobSilfverberg also scored as the Ducks won their NHL-best 43rd game and stayed five points ahead of Chicago and St. Louis in the overall league standings. Anaheim coasted late in its third consecutive win overall, giving Boudreau plenty of fuel for practice even while he complimented his team on its start. The first 30 minutes were a beauty: Perry got his 31st and 32nd goals during his sixth multigoal game of the season, while Cogliano set a new career high with the 19th goal of his breakout season. "If we play like that all the time, well be tough to beat for anybody," Cogliano said. "I think we played really fast, moving the puck really well." Andersen was solid while earning his sixth win in his last seven starts, but the Danish goalie could be headed back to the AHL after the game. ViktorFasth, who has been out since Nov. 18 with muscle inflammation, is due to return to Anaheim as JonasHillers backup. "If we play like that, were as good as anyone," Andersen said of the first period. "Weve just got to figure out a way to play like that for a whole game." AlexanderSemin, AndrejSekera and PatrickDwyer scored in Carolinas fifth straight loss overall and its fourth in six days since the break. CamWard stopped 29 shots in just his second start of 2014, and the Hurricanes followed up Saturdays 3-1 loss att Los Angeles with another disappointing effort. cheap jerseys. "You take the little positives that you can out of it," Hurricanes defenceman John-MichaelLiles said. "We did put a lot of shots at their goalie, and he made some good saves. Ultimately, getting down early against a good team is tough, and it was a tough battle to get back. But were moving the puck well and were getting opportunities. Thats the biggest thing. We just got snake-bit." Indeed, Carolina put up 26 shots and scored twice in the third period, but went scoreless on six power plays to drop into an 0-for-21 slump. The Hurricanes conclude their five-game road trip out of the break Tuesday in San Jose. "Weve been pretty sound defensively," Carolina coach KirkMuller said. "We just havent been scoring goals. Tonight we made a couple of mistakes early in the first, and they capitalized. They have some good players." Perry put the Ducks ahead 6:39 in, punching in a loose puck after the Canes defence came unglued during a shift by Anaheims dominant top line. Beauchemin scored later in the period on a slap shot that deflected off JiriTlustys stick, and Perry got his second goal 1:48 later with a nasty wrist shot. Cogliano scored during a horrible Carolina power play early in the second period, beating Ward between the goalies legs to set his new career high for goals with 20 games still to play. Shortly after Carolina got a bench minor for too many men on the ice during a power play, Silfverberg dug the puck off the netting and scored his first goal since Jan. 15. Carolina avoided the shutout late in the second period when Sekera scored in his second straight game. Dwyer added his first goal since Jan. 9 in the third period. NOTES: Semin returned from a one-game injury absence, but Carolina lost U.S. national team defenceman JustinFaulk to an upper-body injury early in the game. Muller had no update afterward. ... KENNEWICK, Wash. Adidas Originals Zx Flux . - A B.C. woman has been arrested in the United States over allegations she threatened to kill her boyfriend, who is a junior hockey player for the Tri-City Americans. Court documents indicate 25-year-old Tieja MacLaughlin of Kelowna, B.C., was arrested on Saturday in Kennewick, Wash., though she has not been charged. Kennewick police spokesman Mike Blatman says MacLaughlin had been dating Jackson Playfair, who plays for the Western Hockey League team the Tri-City Americans and is the son of Phoenix Coyotes associate coach Jim Playfair. Court documents allege MacLaughlin believed Playfair had been cheating on her and told him on the phone last Friday that she was on her way to Kennewick and he would be dead by the end of the night. The documents say she was arrested the following day and denied making the threats after she was arrested. MacLaughlin is listed in court documents as an employee with Castanet News, an online news site based in Kelowna, but Blatman says she is believed to have driven to Kennewick from Paris, Ont. But a night after scoring six unanswered goals in the third to steal a victory from Brandon, the Pats once again clawed their way back. Midway through the period Scheidl tied it up on the power play with his 26th of the season. Then with just 21 seconds before the buzzer Davidson blasted in a point for the game winner. Regina went 2-for-7 with the extra man and killed off all three of Prince Alberts power plays. Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Edmonton 3 Saskatoon 1, Tri-City 4 Portland 3 and Vancouver 6 Victoria 0. At Regina, Adam Beukeboom made 23 saves to earn the win the Pats (35-24-7). Cole Holowenko stoppeed 30 shots for Prince Albert (20-39-6). New Balance 574 Womens Shoes. Oil Kings 3 Blades 1 At Edmonton, Michael St. Croixs second-period goal was the difference as the Oil Kings beat Saskatoon. T.J. Foster and Curtis Lazar -- with a power-play goal in the final minute of regulation -- also scored for Edmonton (44-15-7). Jake Trasks goal late in the third was all the offence the Blades (36-27-3) could manage. Americans 4 Winterhawks 3 At Portland, Ore., Justin Feser scored in the final minute of regulation as Tri-City defeated the Winterhawks. Feser, who also had two assists, scored the only even-strength goal that Tri City (46-17-3) had, as Brendan Shinnimin, Conner Rankin and Adam Hughesman also scored. Sven Bartschi scored twice, including a power-play goal for Portland (46-16-4). Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Brad Ross had the other goal for the Winterhawks. Giants 6 Royals 0 At Victoria, Adam Morrison made 18 saves as Vancouver shut out the Royals. Riley Kieser, David Musil, Tyler Vanscourt, Matt Bellerive, Jackson Houck and Cain Franson each scored for the Giants (37-25-4). NEW YORK, N. Nike Free 5.0 v4 Damen .Y. - Jack Sock waited and waited for the ball to come down. When it finally landed out, he dropped his racket and ran arms outstretched toward Melanie Oudin. The American teenagers captured the U.S. Open mixed doubles championship Friday, beating eighth-seeded Gisela Dulko and Eduardo Schwank of Argentina in a tiebreak to chants of "U-S-A." Oudin and Sock won 7-6 (4), 4-6, 10-8 (tiebreak) in front of a sparse crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium after the mens singles quarter-finals. "Worked really well because he jokes a lot when were playing and he keeps me relaxed, and sometimes thats what I have been having trouble with, is staying relaxed playing," Oudin said. "Then Im very positive, so that helps him." They had never played together before and needed a wild card to even get in the tournament. In the first round, they faced match point. In the second round, they faced top-seeded defending champs Bob Bryan and Liezel Huber. Now theyll split US$150,000. "Theyre so young," Dulko said. "Its unbelievable what they did." Despite their youth, the two arent exactly strangers to the spotlight at Flushing Meadows. The 18-year-old Sock won a junior title in boys singles at last years Open, then earned his first Grand Slam singles victory in the first round this year before being eliminated by Andy Roddick. The 19-year-old Oudin was the darling of the 2009 U.S. Open, reaching the womens quarter-finals. But shes struggled to find consistency since. "I feel like I have been playing pretty well playing mixed doubles. A lot of those things, like my serve and returning, is very important in singles," Oudin said. "I will have a lot more confidence, I think, going into my next singles matches coming up." The two Argentines had never played mixed doubles together, either. The 26-year-old Dulko won her first Grand Slam womens doubles title with Flavia Pennetta at this years Australian Open. Schwank, 25, was a finalist in mens doubles at the French Open with Juan Sebastian Cabal. The Americans took a 8-5 lead in the tiebreak thanks to back-to-back mistakes by their opponents. Schwank hit a volley wide, then Dulko double-faulted. Things got wild after Oudin and Sock earned triple match point. Schwanks first serve was ruled out; he challenged and the call stood. His second serve glanced off the tape and was also ruled out, which would have been a match-ending double-fault. He challenged again, and this time the call was overturned. Schwank was awarded a first serve, then easily won the next two points on his serve to pull within 9-8, leaving Sock to try to serve out the match. "I feel like I have been serving pretty well all week actually in mixed and even in singles, so I was very comfortable serving," Sock said. He landed a big first serve, and Schwanks popped-up return carried just long. A final review confirmed that it was indeed out. DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- While top-seeded Novak Djokovic had a rest day when opponent Mikhail Youzhny became ill and withdrew from their quarterfinal on Thursday, Roger Federer had to play his way into their semifinal date at the Dubai Championships. The fourth-seeded Federer, who has won this title five times, won his 40th match at the Dubai Championships with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic. Federer made a slow start, falling behind 2-0 but quickly rebounded by winning the next six games. In the second set, Federer broke serve in the third and fifth games. "When you play someone for the first time, you never quite know what his best level is or his normal level is," Federer said. "Thats why you kind of keep pushing on, and thats also why I guess the score came out the way it did, because I never let go." Federer holds a slim 16-15 winning record over Djokovic. The Serbian, however, has beaten Federer in their last three matches, and nine of their last 12 meetings. "He is in the semis, hes already played two matches, hes been here long enough for preparing, and hes fit enough for anything anyway," Federer said of Djokovic having a quarterfinal walkover. "Every match you can get away from is a good one. "For me, it was important also probably not to be out there for three hhours. Nike Air Max 90 Gnstig. Then it would have been a disadvantage. But I think were back on even terms for tomorrow." The other semifinal will feature third-seeded Tomas Berdych against seventh-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany. Playing in his fourth quarterfinal of the season, Kohlschreibers 6-2, 6-3 win over Tunisian wild card Malik Jazirivictory was his 300th match-win on the ATP Tour. Berdych holds a 7-1 winning record over Kohlschreiber. "The record is one thing, but then always the match is going to start from zero," Berdych said. "I have seen Philipp play here and hes playing really well. "Hes playing very aggressive, very confident, too." Berdych, who was a finalist last year, fought past fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 6-3. Berdych was on a 10-match winning streak, which includes his win at the Rotterdam tournament two weeks ago. The first set stayed on serve until Tsonga dropped his at love in the 10th game. The second set was even more tightly contested. In the fifth game, Berdych faced four break points but held on. Tsonga surrendered his serve in the eighth game when he double-faulted on break point. "It was very close," Berdych said. "I faced many break points which was very tough, but that was really the key of todays game, that I managed to save them." cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

BEIJING -- Canadas Kevin Koe was in a four-way tie for third place at the world mens curling championship after splitting his games Sunday at Capital Indoor Stadium. Wholesale Jerseys From China . Koe dropped a 9-6 decision to Japans Yusuke Morozumi in the early draw before improving to 2-1 with a 9-6 victory over Chinas Rui Liu. "Obviously its a long week, but you dont want to get yourself behind the eight-ball early, so obviously it was important to get some stuff figured out," said Canadian third Pat Simmons. "It was a good, gutsy win for us, for sure." The Calgary-based rink opened the tournament Saturday with a 6-3 win over Denmark. Norways Thomas Ulsrud and Germanys John Jahr led at 3-0 after five draws. Canada was tied with Japan, Switzerland and Sweden at 2-1. China picked up a steal of one in the fourth end when Koes open takeout attempt overcurled. Canada pulled even at 3-3 with a deuce in the fifth and stole three points in the sixth end when Lius draw was wide. Koe added a deuce in the eighth end and one more point in the 10th for the victory. "Thats big," Koe said. "I mean, you dont want to get 1-2 this early in the week. It (would) be a long week, for sure." Teams are still adjusting to the ice conditions in the warm, humid Chinese capital. There have been some uncharacteristic misses over the first weekend of competition, such as Koes mistake in the fourth end against China. "I didnt think I threw it too bad in the fourth," said Koe. "Sometimes you throw it and you think you know what itll do and it still doesnt do that. So thats frustrating. Were used to a little more out of ourselves, so we just have to realize that its tough for both teams and we have to stick with it." The Canadian icemaking tandem of Hans Wuthrich and Greg Ewasko have had some challenges -- including a contaminated water supply -- in their effort to create top-flight conditions. "You just have to accept that theres going to be some nuances on each sheet," Simmons said. "If you can get control of the game and make the other team play those hard shots, then its obviously a big advantage. "We were able to do that and make him shoot against a few of our rocks the one end (the seventh) and we were lucky enough to get the steal. Yeah, well take it." The Czech Republic, Russia, China and the United States were 1-2 while Denmark and Scotland remained winless at 0-3. The Canadians will play Russia and the Czechs on Monday. Koe won gold in his only previous appearance at the world championship, taking top spot at the 2010 tournament in Cortina DAmpezzo, Italy. Canada has won gold three of the last four world championships. Jeff Stoughton was victorious in 2011 in Regina and Glenn Howard won at Basel, Switzerland in 2012. SAN JOSE, Calif. -- JoeThornton scored the lone shootout goal in the fifth round, and AlexStalock stopped all five tries as the San Jose Sharks overcame a two-goal deficit to beat the Dallas Stars 3-2 on Saturday night. JoePavelski and JasonDemers scored in regulation for the Sharks, who had lost six of eight before rallying for this win. Stalock made 44 saves and got the win in his first career shootout. RayWhitney and AntoineRoussel scored for the Stars, who were in position to win their third straight game but couldnt hold a third-period lead. KariLehtonen made 37 saves. After neither team scored in the first four rounds, Thornton beat Lehtonen for his second shootout goal in as many tries this season. Stalock sealed the win when he stopped Whitney. After a lacklustre start that led to a 2-0 deficit, the Sharks fought back and tied the game early in the third period shortly after failing to convert on the power play. Thornton did a good job keeping the puck in the zone at the blue line and fed Pavelski, who skated from the boards to the middle and beat Lehtonen with a backhand for his 14th goal. That is where the game stood until the shootout. Stalock got his first career start at home in place of AnttiNiemi, who got a night off after allowing four goals in a loss at Los Angeles on Thursday night. Stalock had four road starts this season, mostly playing on the back end of back-to-backs. He was shaky at times as the Sharks fell behind 2-0 early in the second periiod. Wholesale Jerseys China. It is the second straight game and fifth this month that San Jose has allowed the first two goals after not doing it in the first two months. Whitney, who played on the original Sharks team in 1991-92, capitalized on a bad clearing attempt by San Jose when he sent a backhand from the circle through BradStuarts legs and over Stalocks shoulder to give him points in 10 straight games against his former team. Each team failed on a pair of power-play chances, and that is where the game stood after the first period. But Dallas struck again early in the second on a delayed penalty when AlexGoligoskis centring pass from a bad angle deflected off Roussel and into the net. The Stars nearly added another but referee Mike Leggo blew his whistle even though the puck was loose in the crease, negating a potential goal by ColtonSceviour. The Sharks picked up their play after that and got on the board midway through the second when TylerKennedy fed a trailing Demers, who beat Lehtonen with a one-timer to end a 44-game goalless streak. Vancouver Canucks head coach John Tortorella wasnt happy with his teams effort in Tuesdays shootout loss to the Florida Panthers and hes ready to go back to square one. nfl jerseys china . "Were just throwing s--- at the wall hoping something sticks," said Tortorella about the possible line combinations for Fridays game against Columbus. The Canucks have lost five straight games and six of their last seven, leaving them in a logjam in the Pacific Division, currently sitting fifth - good for ninth in the Western Conference. "Im not going to sit here and...say well, this guys doing this, that will work," said Tortorella, in his first year as Canucks bench boss. Tortorella appears open to shuffling any of his lines, and that includes potentially splitting up the Sedin brothers. At Thursdays practice at the University of British Columbia, HenrikSedin centred a line between JannikHansen and ChrisHiggins, while twin Daniel found himself with RyanKesler and MikeSantorelli. Tortorella was noncommittal, though, as to how long these changes would stay in effect or even if he would employ them in a game scenario at all. "Im not sure where it goes, how long it goes and we see if we can find our way," said the coach. Fridays opponent, the Blue Jackets, have lost seven of 10 games but came away with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. cheap jerseys from china . Teague one handed three pointerTheres something to be said about having the nerve to go up and take a shot from downtown late in a close playoff game, but what is there really to say when that shot is one handed? Teague answers that question with a simple Jordan like shrug of the shoulders.wholesale jerseys . This week, topics cover the Blue Jays rotation, the futures John Gibbons and Alex Anthopoulos, protecting pitchers and a bonus question on his predictions for the MLB playoffs.Baseballs Winter Meetings used to be the highlight of the off season. They still are, to a certain degree, but not nearly what they once were. Last year at Nashville, for instance, things were pretty quiet. You might say what turned out to be the biggest story was Boston signing outfielder/DH JonnyGomes to a two-year deal worth $10 million. The biggest trade, if you can believe it, was probably Miami dealing former Jays shortstop YunelEscobar to Tampa Bay for shortstop prospect DerekDietrich. Alex Anthopoulos has presided over four Winter Meetings and has made just two trades of note over that span. In 2010, he dealt right-hander ShaunMarcum to Milwaukee and in 2011 he shipped pitching prospect NestorMolina to the Chicago White Sox for reliever, maybe future closer, SergioSantos. To be fair to Alex, he did most of his heavy lifting last year before the meetings; including that mammoth 12-player deal with the Marlins. If you dig a little deeper over the past four years, some of the biggest moves have backfired on the teams that appeared at the time to be striking gold. In 2010, the Red Sox pulled off a four-player deal with San Diego to get AdrianGonzalez and then signed CarlCrawford to the largest deal ever given to a position player who had never hit 20 home runs in a season; Crawford leaving Tampa Bay to sign a seven-year, $142 million deal with the Bosox. Less than two years later, on August 25, 2012, Boston packaged Gonzalez and Crawford into an eight-player deal with the Dodgers that in the long run helped change the fortunes of both clubs. In 2011 at Dallas, the Angels stole the show with a couple of major free agent signings, getting AlbertPujols on a 10-year, $240 million deal and left-handed starter C. J Wilson on a five-year pact worth $77.5 million. Pujols had a decent first years with the Angels but then had his second year cut short by a foot injury and only hit 17 homers in 99 games. Some questioned whether he will ever return to the "superstar" form of his St. Louis days; especially when he will be 34 next season. Wilson has pitching pretty well for the Angels, racking up a 30-17 record with a 3.60 ERA, but the Angels havent come close to making the playoffs since these two arrived on the scene. The Halos only compounded their troubles by signing Rangers free agent left fielder JoshHamilton to a five year, $125 million deal on December 13 of last year. Hamilton only hit .250 with 21 homerrs and 79 runs batted in. wholesale nfl jerseys. . So in the last four Winter Meetings, there seems to have been more questionable moves than good. In 2009 at Indianapolis, the biggest news might have involved the media. Baseball print and broadcast legend Peter Gammons left ESPN to join MLB.com, the MLB Network and NESN. Oddly enough on the eve of these Winter Meetings in Orlando, ESPN announced CurtSchilling would be moving into the both on Sunday Night Baseball with Dan Shulman and John Kruk; Schilling replacing Orel Hershiser, who is heading for the Dodgers new network. After all that happened last week, including Robby Cano signing with Seattle and CarlosBeltran joining the Yankees, you have to wonder if this is going to be a relatively quiet week in Orlando. For the fans sake, I hope it isnt. I mentioned in my last article that the new executive director of the Players Association, TonyClark, once hit three homers in a game against the Blue Jays. Well, I researched it a little further. The game was at Rogers Centre on August 28, 2004. Clark had started the game going 0-for-2, and then in the 6th inning he slugged a three-run homer off lefty TedLilly. In the 8th inning, he added a solo shot off JasonFrasor and in the 9th another bases empty blast off KerryLigtenberg. So Clark wound up going 3-for-5 with five runs batted in, in an 18-6 Yankees blowout win. That, however, wasnt the most unusual aspect of that game. The Blue Jays scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th and actually shaved the Yanks lead to 9-6. Things were getting dicey, so skipper Joe Torre brought in MarianoRivera with two out in the 8th. Rivera did his job retiring all four men he faced. The Yankees, though, scored nine runs in the top of the 9th to turn it into a laugher. Nevertheless, Rivera got his 45th save in a 12-run victory. I would doubt that ever happened before or since. Its amazing the stuff you can discover on Baseball Almanac.RoyHalladay, whos battled through shoulder issues the last two years, is going to retire. In fact, he is going to call it a career as a Blue Jay. He will sign a one-day contract with the Jays before officially retiring. That would lead you to believe that if Roy makes it to the Hall of Fame one day he will go in as a Blue Jay. Also quite the coincidence that Halladay would retire in the same off-season as his good friend and former Jays teammate ChrisCarpenter. The game will miss them both. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

PEORIA, Ariz. cheap nfl jerseys . -- Asked how miserable he was in a 2013 season in Toronto filled with arm pain and hard-hit balls, JoshJohnson chuckled and shook his head. "Miserable might be an understatement," Johnson said Friday. "It was like two innings and all of a sudden eight runs are on the board. I had no idea what was going on. It was crazy." The right-hander was able to crack a smile in part because he has a surgically repaired elbow and a fresh start with the San Diego Padres, a combination he hopes will help him return to the form that included two All-Star selections and a National League-best 2.30 ERA with the Marlins in 2010. "Before he got hurt, to me, he was the most dominating pitcher in the National League and probably in the major leagues," said JoaquinBenoit, another of the Padres off-season pitching acquisitions. "It will be really good if hes healthy. Hes going to be a really big piece for our rotation." Thats the plan for the normally thrifty Padres, who opened spring training Friday with the first workout for pitchers and catchers sporting a new look and a higher payroll. The Padres signed Benoit away from Detroit with a two-year, $15.5 million deal to be their setup man, and inked Johnson to a one-year, $8 million deal after his terrible season with the Blue Jays in hopes he can be an anchor in their rotation. "Physically, mentally hes in a good spot," manager Bud Black said of Johnson. That was not the case last year, or the past few seasons. After going a combined 26-11 with 377 strikeouts for the Marlins in 2009-10, he had his season cut short a year later with shoulder trouble. He went just 8-14 with a 3.81 ERA in 2012 before he was traded to the Blue Jays after the season. The 6-foot-7 Johnson said he struggled with his "extension" in Toronto because of elbow problems. It led to command issues, and getting balls up in the strike zone in hitter-friendly Rogers Centre proved costly. Johnson went 2-8 with a 6.20 ERA and allowed 15 home runs in 16 starts as the Blue Jays were one of the more disappointing teams in baseball. After undergoing arthroscopic surgery to remove bone chips in his right elbow Oct. 1, the Blue Jays decided not to give him a qualifying offer. Johnson then told his agent he wanted to play for San Diego or San Francisco, so he could be closer to his Las Vegas home. Moving to a pitcher-friendly park wouldnt hurt, either. Knowing hed likely have to accept a one-year deal, he took the Padres offer, taking a pay cut from the four-year, $39 million deal he signed with the Marlins. Now he joins a franchise looking to rebound from consecutive 76-86 seasons, with free agency looming again next off-season. "I want to get to the playoffs. I want to be in that atmosphere, to be throwing in October," said Johnson, who turned 30 last month. "If you go out there and you perform, the moneys going to be there." Johnson, who has thrown off a mound five times since the surgery, threw 35 pitches in a bullpen session with catcher YasmaniGrandal on Friday morning without problems. Black said hell throw again on Sunday and that hes on the same schedule as the rest of the healthy starters. "The short time Ive been around him, I love his mindset, I love his makeup, his mentality, his aggressiveness," catcher NickHundley said. "I think his body of work kind of speaks for itself. Hes a multiple-time All-Star. He led the league in ERA. I dont think you luck into those types of things. "Were excited to have him. Now hopefully he stays healthy and he can be out there a lot for us." Axford (0-1) came in seeking his fifth save in as many chances.MIAMI -- Here they are again, back on the brink of a championship. It slipped away from the San Antonio Spurs last year, but it would take something special -- historic, actually -- to stop them now. The Miami Heat would have to make the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history. "Theyre the two-time champs, theyre a great team, and there is still one more game," Spurs guard TonyParker said. "We have to win one more game." KawhiLeonard had 20 points and 14 rebounds, and the Spurs routed the Heat again, winning 107-86 on Thursday night to open a commanding 3-1 lead. The Spurs can win their fifth NBA championship with a victory at home in Game 5 on Sunday and avenge their seven-game loss to Miami last year. They have three chances, and the way theyre dominating the Heat, they might need just one. "Im pleased that they performed as well as they did while weve been in Miami, and thats about as far as it goes," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "Now weve got to go back home and play as well or better." LeBronJames had 28 points and eight rebounds, but DwyaneWade was just 1 of 10 through three quarters and finished with 10 points. "They smashed us," James said. "Two straight home games got off to awful starts. They came in and were much better than us in these last two games. Its just that simple." No team has overcome a 3-1 deficit in the finals, and the way the Heat were outclassed twice on their home floor makes it hard to imagine the two-time champions being the first. "We put ourselves in a position where it is about making history," James added. Parker added 19 points, and TimDuncan had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, who shot 57 per cent from the field and are hitting 54 per cent in the series. The Spurs lost twice in Miami to end last years finals, their only defeat in the championship round. They won their two games in South Florida this time by a combined 40 points. San Antonios surprising dominance has Miami on its heels, and unless Miami can figure things out quickly, the Heats two-year championship reign will come to an abrupt end. If this was the last home game of the season in Miami, it looked and sounded nothhing like the ones to end the last two years, which featured confetti falling and trophies raised. cheap jerseys. This one had the unfamiliar sound of boos late in the first half and a chant of "Go Spurs Go!" with under 3 minutes left from the San Antonio fans who remained long after many of Miamis had bolted. A Heat win Sunday would force a Game 6 in Miami Tuesday. The Heat had followed their last 13 post-season losses with a victory, but now at the end of a fourth straight season that has gone the distance, they might be out of gas. Miami seemed to lack the energy -- or maybe effort -- to defend San Antonios precision ball movement for the full 24 seconds, and time after time the Spurs ended up with a shot from somebody who didnt have a defender nearby. Not quite as sharp as when they shot a finals-record 75.8 per cent in the first half Tuesday night, the Spurs were still plenty good enough to open another huge lead by halftime, and they withstood every attempt Miami made to make a run. "We were expecting a reaction from them but we were ready for it, so we just did the same thing," Spurs forward BorisDiaw said. The Spurs knew their defence had to be better, realizing their once-in-a-lifetime, 19-for-21 start in Tuesdays 111-92 Game 3 victory covered the fact that they allowed Miami to make more than 50 per cent in the game. They held Miami to 35 per cent in the first half. "They played great and I can honestly say I dont think any of us were expecting this type of performance," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. San Antonio blew the game open late in the second quarter with seven straight points, capped by Leonards soaring follow dunk that made it 55-33. James, who battled cramps in Game 1, left the court and briefly returned to the locker room midway through the first quarter Thursday. But he had 10 quick points in the third quarter to bring Miami within 13, but San Antonio pushed it to 81-57 after three and never looked back. Notes: Under Popovich, the Spurs have won 15 of the 18 best-of-seven series in which they led 2-1. ... The Heat hadnt lost back-to-back games in the playoffs since dropping three straight against the Boston Celtics in the 2012 Eastern Conference finals. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

SUNRISE, FLORIDA -There is a sense that nobody is safe with the Toronto Maple Leafs these days - from management to the coaching staff to the players.Nike Air Max 90 Dam Online . An epic collapse- 10 losses in 12 games- in Canadas largest market is not going to simply fade away. "When something is as fresh as this is right now you always think theres going to be a lot of change," defenceman CodyFranson said on Wednesday, "and sometimes when time goes by a little bit and you sit back and evaluate [with] cooler heads I guess and, you know, there might not be as many changes as you think." "Weve learned our lesson," said centre NazemKadri, "and you almost want next season to start right now." Yes, it will be a long off-season in Toronto where the questions about the future are flying fast and furious right now, including in the dressing room. The Leafs pending unrestricted free agents, include: MasonRaymond, NikolaiKulemin, PaulRanger, DaveBolland, JayMcClement and TroyBodie while four players are headed toward restricted free agency: JamesReimer, JakeGardiner, CarterAshton and Franson. Meanwhile, management may look to shake things up via the trade route with Kadris name usually front and centre in the chatter. So do the players see big moves on the horizon? "Yeah, I mean, you would think so," said Gardiner, "but you never know whats going to happen. Management here expects a lot out of us and knows we can succeed, its just, I dont know what it was this year." REIMER ON THE WAY OUT Reimer certainly seems destined to leave town after watching JonathanBernier steal away the No. 1 job this season. It has been reported by TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger that Reimer plans on respectfully asking for a trade once the season ends. Reimer let out a sigh of exasperation before breaking into a huge grin when questioned about that on Wednesday. "Lets wait a couple of days before we talk about that," he pleaded. "Obviously, its a fair question. Honestly, I know my agents been thinking about things and stuff, but I havent been thinking about it. Ive just been trying to get this team to the playoffs." The Leafs have two games left on the schedule: Thursday in Florida and Saturday in Ottawa. The players will likely clean out their lockers and have exit interviews on Monday. "Right now, I let my agent worry about those things and I worry about stopping that little black thing," Reimer quipped showing that while he may have lost the starting gig he hasnt lost his sense of humour. Reimer seems torn. He has so many good memories from his time in Toronto, but he believes he can be a starter and he wants that chance badly. "Just the atmosphere," Reimer said when asked what hes enjoyed most about life as a Leaf. "Its arguably the best franchise, best organization in the world so to have the opportunity and privilege to play, I mean, to put on that sweater its special, especially our run last year. Just the excitement and the buzz, thats why you play the game and it was a real honour." That sentiment is echoed throughout the dressing room. THIS IS MY DREAM COME TRUE "Its been great," said Franson, who was late arriving at training camp due to a contract dispute and now is once again facing some uneasy negotiations. "Toronto was my favourite team growing up. This is my dream come true so Im hopeful that I get to stay and that everything works out, but that is the business. At the end of the day, theyre going to do what they feel is best for the team and hopefully Im in that plan." "I love it," said Kadri, a player who craves the spotlight. "I love Toronto. I love our fans and how passionate they are. I love playing at the ACC for our home games. Ive cherished my time here and hopefully it continues." "Im happy to stay with one team for six years," said Kulemin, the longest-serving Leaf. ?"I like the team. I like the city, the fans, everything. Well see." The players seem to still be in a state of shock. On March 13, after an impressive win in Los Angeles, the Leafs appeared a safe bet to make the post-season. The rest, as they say, is history. Another collapse. The third in three years following the 18-wheeler driven off a cliff by Ron Wilson and last Springs Game 7 meltdown in Beantown. Teams that dont learn from mistakes are doomed to repeat them so, yeah, changes seem inevitable. But the players are pleading for patience. PLEADING FOR PATIENCE "We are a young team and this is an experience we can definitely learn from," said Kadri. "Its definitely leaving a bitter taste in our mouth. Its only going to help us, because this is an experience we never want to go through again." So why are the Leafs wilting when the season is on the line? Certainly, their slack defensive play seemed to be exposed down the stretch as the games and playoff races got tighter. But what about the theory that the pressure of playing in a hockey-mad market contributed to the demise? Reimer, who was embroiled in a controversy after head coach Randy Carlyle deemed a recent performance as "just OK," admits the so-called white noise created by the teams bloated media corps does indeed have an impact. "Oh, 100 per cent yeah. Its something that you have to do," said Reimer, who almost always talks to reporters on game days, which is something many goalies will not do. "Its something you think about, but at the same time what you guys do creates such a hype around the game itself so there might be more pressure, because of it, but I think theres more excitement, because of it as well and playing hockey when there is that excitement, that atmosphere, thats what makes it fun. "Some days its tough, but at the same time the pros outweigh the cons." For Reimer, the issue with the team this year is the same one that all non-playoff teams deal with whether they play in a Canadian market or sunny ice-averse Florida. "As a guy and as a team you look in the mirror and you just have to accept that we werent good enough," Reimer reasoned moments after the Leafs were officially eliminated on Tuesday night in Tampa. "A wise man once said that the playoffs dont let you in unless youre good enough. You dont sneak in unless you deserve it." Adidas Zx Flux Dam . -- Jermaine Marshall scored eight of his 29 points in the second overtime and Jordan Bachynski blocked T. Nike Air Max 90 Herr Skor . Dribbling on the perimeter with the final seconds ticking off the clock and Washington down by a point, Wall found his opening.Despite holding the NHLs top record over the last 10 games, Leafs assistant GM Claude Loiselle thinks his team is capable of raising their game to a higher level. We can play better, we can play much better, Loiselle said, noting that although the team is getting a little bit more defensive minded, manageement knows improvements can still be made. In addition to the game being aired in its entirety on CTV Two Vancouver Island and TSN.ca, TSN2 will also have coverage of Whitecaps FC immediately following NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Toyota Owners 400.Fifteen years after the departure of the Jets, the city of Winnipeg has arrived at a triumphant moment that many thought would never come. NHL hockey is returning to the Manitoba capital. The True North Sports and Entertainment group announced on Tuesday that they have completed a deal to purchase the Atlanta Thrashers and move them to Winnipeg in time for the 2011-12 season. The sale is still pending NHL Board of Governors approval, which should occur on June 21 when the board meets in New York. The transfer of ownership requires 75 percent approval from the Board while relocation only needs a majority result. Both True North and the Atlanta Spirit ownership group signed off on the deal that had been in the works for several weeks. Legal teams representing the Spirit group, along with teams from True North and the National Hockey League spent Monday night and Tuesday morning completing the final details of the purchase. The franchise price is $170 million, which includes a relocation fee of $60 million. As determined by the NHL Board of Governors, the relocation fee will be distributed among the other 29 teams. The team will play out of the MTS Centre, which opened in 2004 and has a capacity of just over 15,000 seats. With a population of 762,600, Winnipeg will be the smallest market among the 30 NHL cities. The team immediately announced a season-ticket sales campaign in which they will attempt to reach 13,000 subscribers in a drive that begins on Wednesday. A nickname for the team has not yet been selected. Ticket prices for games in Winnipeg will range from $39-$129 per game. "For me, I think the old school jerseys and the name Jets is pretty cool," Thrashers forward AndrewLadd told the Canadian Press. "It would be fun to be a part of that again." NHL commissioner Gary Bettman spoke at the press conference in Winnipeg where the deal was announced. "Hockey in Canada has never been stronger," said Bettman. "We get to be back in a place we wish had not left in 1996." Bettman was asked by TSNs James Duthie to describe some of the market conditions that were key to helping the NHL return to Winnipeg. "The most important thing for any franchise is ownership, and having Mark Chipman and David Thomson is at the top of the list," explained Bettman. But if you think back to 1996, (the MTS Centre) didnt exist, we didnt have the same collective bargaining agreement that we have now, and I believe the market from an economic standpoint for Winnipeg and Manitoba is stronger than it was." WayneGretzky credited revenue sharing, the salary cap, and league television deals as key reasons why hockey became sustainable again in Winnipeg. "I think (those factors) allow a place like Winnipeg to not just have a team but be competitive," Gretzky told ESPN.com. "But I really thought after that (labour) deal in 2005 that places like Winnipeg and Quebec City would be viable again to support an NHL franchise. Because you know in Winnipeg theyll draw 15,000 people a game and that wasnt the case in Atlanta. Winnipeg can count on that." Prime Minister Stephen Harper, a noted fan and hockey historian, issued a statement expressing his excitement about a seventh franchise being placed in Canada. "Memories of the legendary Winnipeg Jets players such as Bobby Hull, Dale Hawerchuk and TeemuSelanne remain fresh in the minds of Canadians," said Harper. "I know that the new team will inspire countless young Canadians to put on their skates and carry on Canadas proud hockey tradition." The Thrashers ownership group issued a statement tto supporters in Atlanta while the press conference in Winnipeg was taking place. Nike Air Max 90 Sneakerboot Ice. . "Its extremely disappointing to all of us that (this sale) became necessary after all other options were exhausted. We want to express my gratitude to you, the fans, for the years of dedication you have offered to the Atlanta Thrashers." True North, whose principal owners are David Thomson and Mark Chipman, owns the MTS Centre and the buildings current occupant, the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. The St. Johns Telegram reported last week that a deal is already in place to move the Moose to Mile One Stadium in St. Johns for next season. The AHL issued a statement on Tuesday which stopped short of announcing a move of the Moose, but appeared to acknowledge that one is in the works. "While our league will not be the same without the Manitoba Moose, our loss will be the NHLs gain," said David Andrews, President and CEO of the AHL. "Manitoba deserves to have NHL hockey, and we have no doubt that the NHL will be successful in its return to Winnipeg. Our sincere thanks go to the Manitoba Moose fans who have supported the American Hockey League loyally and passionately for the past 10 years." According to TSN Insider Bob McKenzie, the team in Winnipeg will remain in the Southeast Division in the Eastern Conference for one year before the league realigns. When the Jets left Winnipeg for Phoenix after the 1995-96 season, the NHL had four divisions. Winnipeg was in the Central Division with Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, St. Louis, and Dallas. The mood in Winnipeg was jubilant on Tuesday morning as word spread that an announcement of the sale was pending. "A lot of people will talk about the economic impact of having an NHL franchise and I think we can grasp that one very quickly," Winnipeg mayor Sam Katz told TSN Radio on Tuesday. "The one that basically cannot be qualified that, in my opinion is priceless, is how it makes the people of your city feel. "You have to remember about 15 years ago, it was like someone stuck a fist through your rib cage an pulled out your heart. The fan support in this city was phenomenal. The only reason the Jets left here was simply because of the fact we did not have a proper facility and the powers that be at the time could not get their act together to build a new arena." Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed admitted last week that there were no local ownership groups interested in purchasing and keeping the Thrashers in Atlanta. "Anytime we lose a major sports franchise, its tough," Reed told NBC television affiliate Channel 11 last Tuesday. "Its going to hurt the city, but well withstand it and get through it. We have a lot of positive things going on in the sports franchise space that well be announcing soon." This is the second time that the city of Atlanta has lost an NHL franchise. The Flames played in Atlanta from 1972 until they moved to Calgary in 1980. The Thrashers began play as an expansion team in 1999. When asked about how some current Thrashers players might feel about playing in Winnipeg, one former prominent player felt it wouldnt be an issue. "Theyre going to love the fans here," former Winnipeg Jet and current city councilor Thomas Steen told TSN. Thrashers forward EvanderKane sent a tweet expressing his thanks to the city where he began his NHL career. "I want to thank all the Thrashers fans that supported us in Atlanta for my two years there. Very unfortunate there will be no NHL hockey. Thanks again. I will miss the great people and city of Atlanta," said Kane. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

Police leaflets seen by an Associated Press reporter at a central Sochi hotel on Tuesday contain warnings about three potential suicide bombers. A police letter said that one of them, Ruzanna Ibragimova, a 22-year-old widow of an Islamic militant, was at large in Sochi. Nike Air Max 2015 Womens . -- Chris Wondolowski scored his 10th goal of the season and the San Jose Earthquakes made it stand for a 1-0 victory against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday. SAN FRANCISCO -- After slow starts to the season, RyanVogelsong and PabloSandoval have had a resurgence that has helped send the San Francisco Giants to the top of the standings. Vogelsong struck out seven in 6 2-3 innings of a second straight scoreless start and PabloSandoval homered for the fourth time in six games to lead the Giants to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday night. "I feel like when Im out there, I can throw anything in any count," Vogelsong said. "Thats a great feeling. Its not always like that, but the last couple of games it has been that way. It definitely helps your mentality on the mound." Vogelsong (3-2) followed up seven scoreless innings against Miami by limiting the Twins to three hits and one walk to give him a 1.35 ERA in his past six starts. The win gave the Giants (31-18) the best record in baseball. JosmilPinto broke up the shutout bid with a leadoff homer in the ninth inning against SergioRomo, but that was all the Twins could manage. Romo retired the next three batters to get his 16th save in 18 chances. SamuelDeduno (1-3) allowed two runs in 5 2-3 innings after being moved up a day in Minnesotas rotation, but ended up on the short end because of the performances from Vogelsong and Sandoval. Sandoval got off to a slow start in a contract year and was batting under .200 as late as May 13. But he has found his stroke of late to lead the way for San Francisco. "He has his timing and he has his confidence going," manager Bruce Bochy said. "That usually comes with success. That was the longest tough streak he has ever gone through. It looks like he has come out of it and is making great contact right now." Sandoval gave San Francisco the lead for good in his first at-bat for the second straight night, sending an 0-2 pitch from Deduno over the wall in left-centre to lead off the second inning with his sixth homer of the season. Adidas Originals Superstar 2 Womens. It was a rare two-strike hit for Sandoval, who came in with just five hits in 79 at-bats for an .063 average after reaching two strikes. "I missed a changeup," Deduno said. "I like to throw it on the ground, but it was just a little bit up. Thats why he hit it." Sandoval added a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning after a poor throw from second baseman BrianDozier cost the Twins the chance at a double play. That was enough for Vogelsong, who pitched out of trouble in the first three innings before finding his groove. The Twins had a runner on second with one out in each of the first three innings, but couldnt score against Vogelsong, who has rebounded after posting a 7.71 ERA in his first four starts. "He was throwing good cutters to both sides of the plate," Twins outfielder JasonKubel said. "If youre thinking cutter, hell throw the straight one in at you, too, and it gets guys to chase. Hes got a good curveball. When hes got his pitches, hes tough to hit." Vogelsong was replaced after making a throwing error on AaronHicks comebacker with two outs and no on in the seventh. Juan Gutierrez got pinch-hitter ChrisHerrmann to ground out to escape the inning. NOTES: The Giants improved to 23-4 when scoring first. ... SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Argentine Federico Delbonis won his first ATP title by defeating Paolo Lorenzi of Italy 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Brazil Open final on Sunday. Wholesale Jerseys . Delbonis broke Lorenzis serve to start the decisive set and held on to close the match in 2 hours, 6 minutes after converting on his second match point. He jumped and punched the air after sending a winner down the line past the outstretched arms of Lorenzi. Delbonis celebrated a nearly perfect week in which he also reached the semifinals in the doubles tournament. "To tell you the truth, I have no words," Delbonis said. "I played well match after match. It was a great result in the end." The 23-year-old lefty was playing only in his second ATP final. He had lost to Fabio Fognini of Italy last July after upsetting Roger Federer in the semifinals in Hamburg. With the victory at the ATP 250 tournament in Sao Paulo, Delbonis will move to 45th in the ATP rankings, a career best. The 32-year-old Lorenzi, ranked 114th, had never advanced past the quarterfinals of an ATP singles tournament. He reached the Sao Paulo final by beating top-seeded German Tommy Hass, who retired in the semifinals because of a right shoulder injury while losing in the second set. "Its a shame I wasnt able to win," Lorenzi said. "But hopefully Ill be back next year to try again." The Italian won the first set on Sunday after breaking Delbonis serve at 3-3, but the hard-hitting Argentine started serving well and was never broken again, finishing with 12 aces and no double faults. Delbonis beat home-crowd favourite Thomaz Bellucci in the semifinals. He had defeated second-seeded Nicolas Almagro in the second round, a three-time winner at the Brazil Open. It was the first time since 2007 that the Brazil Open wasnt won by a Spanish player. Argentine Guillermo Canas lifted the trophy that year, and after that the tournament was won by Spaniards Almagro, Tommy Robredo, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Rafael Nadal. Nadal decided not to defend the clay-court title this week. He chose to play in the first Rio Open, which he won last week. In the doubles final on Sunday, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain and Philipp Oswald of Austria beat Juan Sebastian Cabal and Roberto Farah of Colombia 5-7, 6-4, 15-13. The Colombians, No. 5 in the world and second-seeded in Sao Paulo, won the Rio Open last week. Delbonis reached the semifinals of the doubles tournament playing with countryman Facundo Bagnis, losing to the eventual champions. Penn has never been one to take a loss lightly. In recent years, the former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion has appeared determined to avenge previous defeats. First he evened the score with Jens Pulver, dominating the inaugural UFC lightweight titleholder en route to a submission victory in 2007. Less than two years later he attempted a similar feat against Georges St-Pierre, but suffered a late TKO loss after his corner threw in the towel. In 2010 he then snagged the rubber match with Matt Hughes, dispatching the UFC Hall of Fame inductee with a rapid-fire knockout. Though Penn has always made a point of returning the favour against fighters who have bested him in the past, he said he isnt necessarily obsessed with vengeance. "I dont know about fixated, but I believe everyone out there would want to have another shot at somebody who beat them," Penn told reporters on a recent media call. "I just think thats part of life. I just think thats human nature bottom line." Penn now has his sight locked on the man who took his UFC lightweight championship when he once again locks horns with Frankie Edgar in the headliner of The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale in Las Vegas Sunday. The bout will also mark the Hawaiians first at featherweight. Penn admitted that while batting around ideas for his return to the Octagon, he lobbied UFC president Dana White for another crack at Edgar. As a result, the two were paired up as opposing coaches on the most recent season of TUF. "I talked to Dana and said (I wanted to) get back in and avenge a couple of my losses," Penn said. "Frankies name came up and everything got put together. "This is the first time I asked to fight Frankie. When I first had to fight Frankie, I was like, Really, Frankie, who is this? Let me check it out. Then Frankie comes out and proves himself. Frankie now is one of the best of all time in the UFC. Its definitely a fight Im looking forward to." Penn and Edgar originally met in the co-main event of UFC 112 on April 10, 2010. A sizable underdog going into the bout, Edgar pulled off a stunning upset to win the 155-pound title via unanimous decision. He then dominated Penn in the rematch to earned the judges nod four months later. Edgar admitted his second victory over Penn remains one of the most memorable of his career. "I think they were both rewarding in their own right," Edgar said. "I guess the second time was a little more reassuring just because everyone thought the first time was a fluke and I was able to get it done the second time. Maybe that one stuck out a little more for me." Though hes next on Penns hit list, Edgar can relate to the Hilo native. During his run as UFC lightweight champion he delivered a stunning knockout against Gray Maynard, who had previously handed him a decision loss in 2008. Edgar said he understands Penns motivations. "Yeah, absolutely, Ive been there before," Edgar said. "Its just competitive nature. Id think all fighters would want a chance at redemption." Though Edgar already holds two victories over Penn, hes hardly in a lose-lose situation. On top of the bout being yet another high-profile encounter against one of mixed martial arts trrue legends, he could also become the only fighter to go 3-0 against Penn. Jerseys Wholesale. However, Edgar admitted he was surprised when the opportunity came across his plate. "I was definitely not expecting B.J. to be the guy I was coaching against," Edgar said. "(Dana and I) were throwing around the idea of me coaching the show. I thought I was going to miss the opportunity just because we couldnt get someone. Then he threw out the name B.J. to me. Im pretty easy going and I just jumped at it." For Penn, not only does does a victory over Edgar allow him to earn a measure of retribution, it proves hes still relevant in the ever-evolving sport of MMA. Conversely, White recently stated a loss would result in a talk about retirement. Though there is a lot at stake for him, Penn said part of his decision to return is that he simply loves to compete. "This is what I do, this is what Ive done my whole life and this is all I know," Penn said. "It just comes down to having fun and doing what I love." ----- B.J. KANSAS CITY, Mo. Nike Air Max Thea Herr . -- The Kansas City Chiefs will have dangerous punt returner DexterMcCluster back from injury when they play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. McCluster missed last weeks win at Oakland after developing an infection in his ankle. Chiefs coach Andy Reid also said Friday that linebacker JustinHouston and left tackle BrandenAlbert could be ready for the Colts. Houston has missed three games after dislocating his elbow against San Diego on Nov. 24, while Albert has missed two games after hyperextended his knee. Reid also said that tight end AnthonyFasano, whos been out with a concussion, has been cleared to play against Indianapolis. Hes also missed the last two games. The Chiefs are tied with the Broncos atop the AFC West, while the Colts have already clinched the AFC South. Their game Sunday could be a preview of a first-round playoff matchup.Billiga Nike Air Max 90 Rea . The former Canadian Amateur champion, who made his rookie year as a professional a memorable one, has had a long wait to get back on the course and after last season, hes anxious to play.DALLAS -- DirkNowitzki looked like a 35-year-old veteran playing his fourth game in five nights in the first half against New Orleans -- and so did everyone else. The Dallas star played like an MVP in his prime after halftime, when the game improved substantially for both teams. Nowitzki scored a season-high 40 points, and the Dallas Mavericks recovered from a brutal first quarter and held to beat New Orleans 110-107 on Saturday night for their second win in as many days against the Pelicans. The teams combined for more points in the third quarter than the entire first half. Nowitzki was the perfect illustration of the difference, getting 20 points in the third and hitting seven straight shots after starting just 2 of 9 from the field. "It was an ugly game in the first half," Nowitzki said. "Then all of a sudden the basket started opening up and everybodys confidence went up." MontaEllis broke a 99-all tie with two free throws, and Nowitzki hit three more after getting fouled on a 3-pointer by JasonSmith. Nowitzki was 15 of 16 from the line and Ellis, who scored 26 points, made 12 of 15. Dallas was 39 of 45 as a team. AnthonyDavis had 28 points and 14 rebounds for the Pelicans, who lost their fifth straight and dropped six games below .500, both season highs. The Mavericks, who won three of four games in a five-night stretch, almost blew a seven-point lead in the last 2 minutes after shooting 27 per cent in the first half, when Dallas led 42-37 before outscoring New Orleans 42-40 in the third. Davis made five of six free throws to get New Orleans within two at 106-104 with 18 seconds left. Dallas had to call timeout after having trouble inbounding the ball, and Nowitzki hit two foul shots for a four-point lead and his first 40-point game since April 16, 2012, at Utah. He also had 40 in that one. "Oh man, unbelievable," Ellis said of Nowitzki. "Ive seen that a lot throughout my career. For him to come out and give us that lift tonight really opened up a lot for us as a team." DariusMiller hit his fourth 3-pointer of the second half to get New Orleans within a point, and JoseCalderon hit two free throws for Dallas for the last of his 17 points with 9 seconds left. AustinRivers tried to get off a 3-pointer at the buzzer bbut was tied up by Ellis. Nike Air Max 90 Rea Sverige. Rivers pleaded for a foul call as the referees were leaving the court, and coach MontyWilliams said video showed Ellis had his arm across both of Rivers arms. "Thats embarrassing," said Williams, whose team also was playing for the fourth time in five nights. "Thats not right. A no-call in a game like that when Dirk gets the same call in the first half and they shot 45 free throws? Certainly, were not going to blame the game on the referees." EricGordon had 20 points for New Orleans before fouling out on a driving layup by Ellis that put Dallas up 106-99. Al-FarouqAminu had 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Pelicans were playing their second straight game without leading scorer RyanAnderson and assist leader JrueHoliday. Anderson missed his fifth game with a herniated disc and is out indefinitely. Holiday has a stress fracture in his right shin. The Mavericks were without starter ShawnMarion for the fourth straight game with shoulder and rib injuries. Miller hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Davis had an alley-oop dunk and a jumper during a 10-2 run that put New Orleans up 95-92. In the first half, both teams appeared to be feeling the effects of their previous game a night earlier and 500 miles away in New Orleans -- a 107-90 Dallas win. The Mavericks were 2 of 19 from the field early in the second quarter when Nowitzki got fouled while making a 3-pointer and converted the four-point play. While that sparked a run to Dallas first lead, it didnt improve the shooting much. Dallas finished the first half 9 of 33 on field goals, and New Orleans was just 12 for 37 from the field in the first half. The ugly start also included multiple air balls and an air-mailed pass by Gordon -- about 10 feet over everybodys head into the third row behind the Dallas bench. It was one of six turnovers in the first half and eight overall for Gordon. NOTES: Mavericks rookie PG ShaneLarkin sprained his right ankle in the third quarter and didnt return. ... The Mavericks didnt get their first field goal until Calderon hit a 3-pointer with 6:55 left in the first quarter. ... Nowitzki had the fourth 20-point quarter of his career. His highest was franchise-record 29 against Utah in the fourth quarter on Nov. 3, 2009. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

For those that follow my Twitter feed, you might be aware that I was in Dallas on the weekend, my first time seeing a game at the new Cowboys, er, AT & T Stadium. Adidas Originals ZX Flux . I had seen a game in the old stadium, and as a kid who grew up on the Doomsday Defence and Tony Dorsett, that was pretty cool. The new stadium is something else. It is a complete monument to excess and I dont mean that in a bad way. Its loud and huge and everything I would expect about football in Texas, where high school teams play in 20,000-seat stadiums. Ive been to a decent number of NFL and college football games, nearly all in the Northeast and Midwest, so the Texas experience is different. Having been to Notre Dame half a dozen times, I was sure that the marriage of sports fanaticism and religion made the Notre Dame bookstore a premier juggernaut on game day, with massive lines for merchandise. In Dallas, it was at a whole new level, with massive lines of people all waiting for the privilege of buying merchandise from the 18 cash registers that were open in the one store I happened to enter. There are many reasons that the Cowboys are the most valuable NFL franchise, but the merchandising of the silver star is part of it and the fanaticism Texans have for football feeds that machine. As for the game itself, the Cowboys were so much better than the Rams on Sunday, it wasnt even a contest. The 31-7 final score didnt do justice to the mismatch, which only made the celebrating louder and bigger and completely over the top -- just what I expected from a football game in Big D. On to this weeks 50 points, a look back at Week Three of the NFL season, PeytonManning brilliance, JimmyGraham a cut above, BilalPowell makes his mark and unstoppable JulioJones. 1. The only other time Cowboys RB DeMarcoMurray (203 YDS, 1 TD, 29 touches) had played the St. Louis Rams, he rushed for 253 yards on 25 carries in 2011. Murray had an easy time of it against the Rams run defence, a group that had surrendered 36 yards on 16 carries against the Falcons in Week Two. 2. Broncos QB PeytonManning (32-for-37, 374 YDS, 3 TD) shredded the Raiders defence and Broncos WR EricDecker (8 REC, 133 YDS, 1 TD, 8 targets) was the big winner, but virtually every option works in the Denver passing game. 3. WR DemaryiusThomas (10 REC, 94 YDS, 11 targets), WR WesWelker (7 REC, 84 YDS, 1 TD, 8 targets) and TE JuliusThomas (3 REC, 37 YDS, 1 TD, 4 targets) were all involved for the Broncos. 4. Jets RB BilalPowell (158 YDS, 29 touches) torched the Bills defence, which isnt altogether surprising. Jacksonville (507) is the only team to surrender more rushing yards than Buffalos 465. 5. Saints TE JimmyGraham has 19 catches for 313 yards in the last two weeks, more yardage than any other tight end has put up through three games this season. 6. Panthers RB DeAngeloWilliams (120 YDS, 23 carries) quietly ranks third among all runners with 291 rushing yards through the first three weeks, behind only LeSeanMcCoy (395) and DougMartin (297). 7. Falcons WR JulioJones (9 REC, 115 YDS, 12 targets) keeps rolling and leads the league with 373 receiving yards, ahead of Philadelphia WR DeSeanJackson (359) who had a modest 62 yards receiving in Thursday nights loss to Kansas City. So long as RoddyWhite is an after-thought, playing with a high ankle sprain, Jones is clearly the Falcons best option. 8. Steelers QB BenRoethlisberger (26-for-41, 406 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT) put up big numbers in another Steelers loss, this time incorporating WR AntonioBrown (9 REC, 196 YDS, 2 TD, 13 targets) into the offence. Brown has not been pleased with his use in Todd Haleys offence, so he at least got the ball, even if it didnt have much bearing on the final outcome. 9. Eagles RB LeSeanMcCoy (158 YDS, 1 TD, 20 carries) is averaging 6.4 yards per carry, best among running backs with at least 40 carries. AlfredMorris (5.6) ranks second. 10. Another dud game for 49ers QB ColinKaepernick (13-for-27, 150 YDS, 0 TD, 1 INT) leaves the 49ers with a lot of questions. At his best, Kaepernick makes the game look easy because he can outrun mistakes and, as he showed in Week One, is a capable passer. But hes passed for a Tebow-esque 277 yards in the last two weeks and no amount of running is going to make up for that lack of efficiency through the air. 11. Packers RB JamesStarks had such a great effort in relief of an injured EddieLacy in Week Two, but left Sundays game with 55 yards on 14 carries after suffering a knee injury. That led to rookie Jonathan Franklin (126 YDS, 16 touches) delivering a big game, albeit one in which his fourth-quarter fumble was returned for the game-winning score. With the Packers on a bye in Week Four, there is a better chance for their backfield to be healthy and now it appears that they have a few legitimate options as ball carriers. 12. Chiefs RB JamaalCharles (172 YDS, 1 TD, 27 touches) ranks third in yards from scrimmage, among running backs, with 375, behind LeSeanMcCoy (514) and DeMarcoMurray (402). 13. Bengals RB Gio Bernard (99 YDS, 1 TD, 14 touches) continues to take more of the action in the Cincinnati backfield, pulling ahead of BenJarvusGreen-Ellis (29 YDS, 1 TD, 10 carries, one fumble). 14. Before suffering a broken arm in a car accident Monday night, Lions WR NateBurleson (6 REC, 116 YDS, 9 targets) joined CalvinJohnson (7 REC, 115 YDS, 1 TD, 13 targets) with big receiving days against Washington. 15. Burleson leads all wide receivers with receptions on 82.6% of the passes sent his way and now that hes out, RyanBroyles becomes more appealing in the Lions offence. 16. Titans QB JakeLocker (23-for-37, 299 YDS, 1 TD; 68 YDS, 5 carries) had the third-most passing yards of his career in the win over San Diego, with veteran WR NateWashington (8 REC, 131 YDS) having the big game. Enigmatic WR KennyBritt had zero catches on five targets so, thanks for that. 17. Browns QB BrianHoyer (30-for-54, 321 YDS, 3 TD, 3 INT) had a roller-coaster of a day in his first start for Cleveland, ultimately earning a road win. 18. Back from suspension, WR JoshGordon (10 REC, 146 YDS, 1 TD) was a beast and TE JordanCameron (6 REC, 66 YDS, 3 TD) continued his stellar play. Cameron ranks second among tight ends, behind only the Saints JimmyGraham, with 269 receiving yards this season. 19. Patriots rookie wide receivers AaronDobson and Kenbrell Thompkins were better against Tampa Bay. Dobson (7 REC, 52 YDS, 10 targets) was still QB TomBradys most targeted receiver. Thompkins had three catches for 41 yards, including two touchdowns, on seven targets. 20. Bills rookie WR RobertWoods (2 REC, 35 YDS, 10 targets) had a tough day against the Jets. Among receivers targeted at least 15 times through three weeks, Woods 38.9% receiving percentage ranks fifth-worst, ahead of RileyCooper (37.5%), GregLittle (36.7%), Kenbrell Thompkins (32.1%) and KennyBritt (31.3%). 21. Having traded TrentRichardson to the Colts last week, the Browns signed RB WillisMcGahee (9 YDS, 8 carries) and got minimal production in his first game. ChrisOgbonnaya and BobbyRainey are looking for touches in that Cleveland backfield too, but McGahee seems the best bet of a bad lot for now. 22. Patriots RB StevanRidley (43 YDS, 12 touches) continues to struggle and is opening the door for LeGarretteBlount (65 YDS, 14 carries) and BrandonBolden (100 YDS, 8 touches), who were both more productive against Tampa Bay on Sunday. Ridley has run for 121 yards (3.4 yards per carry) through three games. 23. Without MarkIngram, Saints RB PierreThomas (67 YDS, 17 touches) got more touches. DarrenSproles (56 YDS, 7 touches) was effective, though he didnt get as many looks. Khiry Robinson led the Saints with 38 yards rushing on four carries, but that was all from the games final drive when the outcome was already decided. 24. Lions QB MatthewStafford (25-for-42, 385 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT) had a big day against the Washington D, which doesnt count as a surprise. Washington has allowed 999 passing yards in three weeks (ranking 31st), allowing a league-high 9.8 yards per pass attempt. 25. In the absence of an injured ReggieBush, Lions RB JoiqueBell had 132 yards and a touchdown on 24 touches. Bell has been productive enough to warrant fantasy considering with Bush in the lineup so when Bush is out, Bell is a prime option. 26. Washington QB RobertGriffin III continued piling up empty calories (326 YDS passing), though no touchdowns, in Washingtons third straight loss. He ranks third with 975 passing yards this season, so he provides fantasy value, but hes also run for 62 yards in three games (20.7 yards per game), a far cry from the pace of last years 815 rushing yards (50.9 yards per game). 27. Panthers QB CamNewton (15-for-27, 223 YDS, 3 TD, 1 INT; 45 YDS, 1 TD, 6 carries) didnt put up huge yardage against the Giants, but counting for four touchdowns made him a valuable performer nonetheless. 28. With RayRice out, Ravens RB BernardPierce (72 YDS, 1 TD, 26 touches) had a pedestrian game, not that it mattered much as the Ravens won easily against Houston. 29. With StevenJackson out, Falcons RB JacquizzRodgers (93 YDS, 20 touches) and JasonSnelling (111 YDS, 15 touches) both had very productive games, even if it ultimately came in a losing effort. 30. Bills RB C.J.Spiller was hurt after 11 yards on 10 touches against the Jets. FredJackson (109 YDS, 11 touches) made the most of his opportunity, though Spiller has indicated that he expects to play against the Ravens next week. 31. The Broncos backfield wasnt so Moreno-slanted as it might have appeared after Week Two. Against the Raiders, RonnieHillman (78 YDS, 1 TD, 10 touches) and MonteeBall (61 YDS, 11 carries) were at least as productive as KnowshonMoreno (45 YDS, 13 touches). 32. Jets QB GenoSmith (16-for-29, 331 YDS, 2 TD, 2 INT) had a productive game, hitting wide receivers SantonioHolmes (5 REC, 154 YDS, 1 TD, 10 targets) and StephenHill (3 REC, 108 YDS, 1 TD) for more than 100 yards. As Smith develops, Jets receivers start to have appeal, especially as bye weeks hit the schedule. 33. In the first week with TrentRichardson in the Colts backfield, RB AhmadBradshaw (111 YDS, 1 TD, 22 touches) was still the top back. Richardson scored a touchdown, but 35 yards on 13 carries was nothing special. 34. 49ers RB FrankGore (103 YDS, 13 touches) didnt get a lot of action against Indianapolis, but was productive enough. Given the state of their passing game, maybe he could have been used more often. 35. Jaguars WR CecilShorts (8 REC, 143 YDS, 15 targets) finally went off. Shorts leads the league with 40 targets through three games. 36. Seahawks TE Luke Willson (5 REC, 76 YDS), a Windsor, Ontario native who played at Rice, made his first mark in the Seattle passing game. With a declining ZachMiller ahead of him on the depth chart, Willson has an opportunity to see more action. 37. Chiefs WR DonnieAvery (7 REC, 141 YDS, 7 targets) had a huge game against the Eagles. 38. Raiders QB TerrellePryor (19-for-28, 281 YDS, 1 TD; 36 YDS, 4 carries) was productive again in a loss for the Raiders and leads the league with 7.6 yards per carry. WR DenariusMoore (6 REC, 124 YDS, 1 TD, 11 targets) was the preferred target for Pryor against Denver Monday night. 39. With mediocre production from starter RyanMathews (189 yards from scrimmage in three games), Chargers RB DannyWoodhead (86 YDS, 12 touches vs. Tennessee) is becoming a more valuable contributor. 40. With RB DarylRichardson out of action for Rams, IsaiahPead (63 YDS, 13 touches) was the replacement. It looked like a long day for the Rams backfield when the first carry of the day went to WR TavonAustin, who lined up in the backfield. 41. Steelers running backs JonathanDwyer (48 YDS, 13 touches) and FelixJones (47 YDS, 9 touches) had modestly productive days, but did nothing to dispel the notion that the Steelers need rookie LeVeonBell to take control of the running game as soon as possible. 42. JulioJones leads all receivers with 208 yards after catch; DeSeanJackson (161) and DemaryiusThomas (146) are next among wideouts. JoiqueBell (163) ranks second overall. 43. There are four receivers with four recorded drops through the first three games: TavonAustin, EricDecker, AaronDobson and DougMartin. 44. JulioJones also has the most catches (27) without recording a drop. 45. Dolphins QB RyanTannehill leads the league with five fumbles lost. BenRoethlisberger and RGIII both have four. 46. RobertGriffin III and TerrellePryor have both recovered two of their own fumbles, best in the league, but also an indication of favourable bounces from a ball of that shape. 47. The top five quarterbacks in yards after catch are MatthewStafford (625), MattRyan (581), AaronRodgers (544), SamBradford (526) and RobertGriffin III (508). 48. Among quarterbacks to play in all three games, CamNewton (184), TerrellePryor (192) and JakeLocker (196) have the fewest yards after the catch. 49. Chiefs OLB JustinHouston (4.5 sacks against Philadelphia) now leads the league with 7.5 sacks. RobertMathis and MarioWilliams are tied for second with 4.5 sacks through three weeks. 50. Other big defensive days in Week Three: Bengals OLB VontazeBurfict (11 tackles), DE MichaelJohnson (7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 PD), Vikings MLB Erin Hendersn (8 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 PD), Buccaneers SS MarkBarron (11 tackles, 1 INT, .5 sack), Cardinals OLB KarlosDansby (12 tackles, 2 TFL), Cardinals DT DarnellDockett (3 sacks), Lions DE EzekielAnsah (7 tackles, 2 sacks), Panthers DE GregHardy (8 tackles, 3 sacks), Ravens ILB DarylSmith (10 tackles, 1 INT TD), Bills OLB MannyLawson (14 tackles, 1 TFL), Jets DE MuhammadWilkerson (6 tackles, 2 sacks, 5 QB hits), Jaguars MLB PaulPosluszny (12 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TFL) Scott Cullen can be reached at Scott.Cullen@bellmedia.caand followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/tsnscottcullen. Toronto manager John Gibbons says the move to the fifth spot is partially to give Morrow more time to get ready. He declined to provide further reasons, saying all would be revealed on the rotation in good time. Prior to Tuesday, Morrow had pitched eight innings this spring, giving up seven earned runs on 12 hits with four strikeouts and four walks. He was scheduled to throw in a minor league game Tuesday. Gibbons said hes happy with what hes seen from the 29-year-old Morrow, who is due to make US$8 million this season. "Yeah, hes fine," he told reporters prior to the Jays road game Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers. "The key with him is his health. Thats whats limited him the last couple of years. If hes good, hes strong and makes all his starts or at least most of them, weve got one of the better pitchers in baseball. But thats been tough for him to do the last couple of years." Morrows 2013 season was cut short by an impinged nerve in his right forearm. He went 2-3 with a 5.63 ERA in 10 starts before being shut down. A torn oblique muscle cost him more than two months of the 2012 campaign. Knuckleballer R.A.Dickey will open the season on the mound for the Jays on March 31 in Tampa. Gibbons has said left-hander MarkBuehrle will start third, to separate him from Dickey. If Morrow goes fifth, he will pitch the home opener April 4 against the Yankees. That leaves the No. 2 and 4 positions with Gibbons saying one spot goes to left-hander J. Nike Air Max 1 Dames. .Happ. The team has yet to confirm the last starter but it is widely believed that DrewHutchison has pitched his way into the rotation. Gibbons said hes happy with the pitching weapons at his disposal. "Yeah, I really like the way its setting up. I really do ... Theres still some decisions to be made but Im very pleased," he said. Pitching was a major problem last season when Toronto starters combined for a 46-57 record and a 4.81 ERA. Only Minnesota had an higher ERA (5.26) among its starters. Morrow threw 3 2/3 innings Tuesday in a Jays minor league intra-squad game that also saw Buehrle pitch. Morrow gave up two runs with two walks and two strikeouts. He threw 63 pitches, 36 for strikes "Everythings coming along well," he said. "I got established what I wanted to establish today with the fastball command, with the nice zip and pop on that, and you could see the guys were behind it at times, regardless of the velocity. "It wasnt my best velocity, but the swings tell you whether or not youre locating well and the kind of life on it, so that was positive. Everything else has been coming along really well." Buehrle gave up three runs (two earned) in 4 1/3 innings with two walks and three strikeouts. NOTES -- Closer CaseyJanssen, on a slower spring training track to protect against shoulder soreness, threw live batting practice Tuesday. "All in all, good to get on a mound, good to get a little bit of adrenalin going, and most importantly, its good to feel good," he said. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

Nike Free 3.0 v4 Womens Tiffany Blue .J. -- A couple of comeback kids helped the New York Giants continue their winning streak.CHICAGO -- The Cleveland Indians almost wasted a great chance to grab the lead in the seventh inning on Saturday. Then RyanRaburn came to the plate and did what he usually does against the Chicago White Sox. Raburn hit a tiebreaking single and DavidMurphy drove in four runs, leading the Indians to a 12-6 victory over the White Sox. "Its a team win," Raburn said. "Just to be able to be in that position to help us out, I mean, thats a tribute to our team putting us in that position." Murphy, NickSwisher and JasonKipnis homered for Cleveland, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Murphy added a bases-loaded triple in a four-run ninth against DonnieVeal. The Indians improved to 18-4 against the White Sox since the beginning of last season, overcoming another shaky start by JustinMasterson. They will try for a split of the four-game series Sunday. "It was a long day of good at-bats and we needed them," Indians manager Terry Francona said. AdamEaton had two hits, including his first homer, and walked twice for the White Sox, who have scored five or more runs in nine of their 12 games this season. "Were going up there with an approach and trying to execute the approach," Eaton said. "It will come around and well be just fine. I love seeing the fight." AlexeiRamirezs nifty slide past catcher CarlosSantana tied it at 6 in the fifth, but Raburn put the Indians ahead to stay with a two-run single in the seventh. The Indians loaded the bases with one out against RonaldBelisario (1-1) and ScottDowns. DanielWebb came in and got AsdrubalCabrera to foul out, but Raburn followed with a bouncer into centre field to make it 8-6. "They got a chance to wiggle out of that with a tie game at home and Raburn smacks that ball up the middle and gives us the lead," Francona said. "That was huge." Raburn, who began his career with Detroit, has a .301 batting average, 17 homers and 72 RBIs in 97 career games against Chicago. "This is one of those places, I feel pretty comfortable up there," he said. "Ive faced these guys so many times you kind of get a knack for what theyre trying to do, but youve still got to put the bat on the ball." RRaburns big hit handed a win to JoshOutman, one of four relievers who shut down the White Sox after Masterson laboured through 4 2-3 innings. Nike Air Max 90 Camo For Sale. Outman (2-0), BryanShaw, CodyAllen and JohnAxford combined for 4 1-3 innings of one-hit ball. Masterson was charged with six runs, five earned, and seven hits in his first start since he lasted just 3 2-3 innings against Minnesota last Sunday. The right-hander also walked five to go along with seven strikeouts. "I was decently happy with the way things took place as far as how I felt when I let go of the ball," Masterson said. "Sometimes after letting go of the ball, the things I cant control, they got me a little bit." Masterson dominated the White Sox last year, going 4-0 with a sparkling 0.83 ERA in 32 2-3 innings. Chicago right-hander FelipePaulino also had a rough start, allowing six runs and six hits in five innings. "Ive been fighting a lot executing my pitches (the) last couple of games," Paulino said. "But I miss a lot of spots. ... My slider comes sometimes, but Im looking for consistency." Francona won a replay challenge after NyjerMorgan was picked off in the first, leading to three runs. The overturned call put Morgan back at first base, and he eventually scored on MichaelBrantleys two-run single. Cabrera added a run-scoring groundout. Eatons homer gave the White Sox a 5-4 lead in the second. Cleveland went back in front when Swisher and Kipnis connected in the fifth. It was the first set of back-to-back homers for the Indians this season. NOTES: Indians OF MichaelBourn (strained left hamstring) will play another rehab game with Double-A Akron on Sunday. "I think hes feeling pretty good. I think the last thing is being able to get to that gear and not having to think about it. Thatll be when hes ready to go," Francona said. ... Indians RHP CoreyKluber (1-1, 7.71 ERA) and White Sox LHP JoseQuintana (1-0, 2.77) square off in the series finale. ... The Indians are off Monday, and Francona said RHP CarlosCarrasco will work out of the bullpen before making his next start Saturday against Toronto. Carrasco allowed five runs and six hits in 4 2-3 innings during Fridays 9-6 loss to the White Sox. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

MIAMI - LeBronJames of the Miami Heat says Oklahoma Citys KevinDurant would be a deserving winner of the NBA MVP award. Nike Air Max 90 Dam Online . Its expected that Durant will be announced as this seasons MVP later this week. James has lauded Durants play this season several times in recent weeks, doing so again on Monday. James says: "Much respect to him and he deserves it. He had a big-time MVP season." James is a four-time winner of the leagues MVP award, taking the honour in each of the previous two seasons. Nike Air Max 90 Herr Skor . Leverkusen came from behind to beat Werder Bremen 2-1 and secure fourth place immediately above Wolfsburg, which beat sixth-placed Borussia Moenchengladbach 3-1. "We knew we had to win," Leverkusen striker Eren Derdiyok said. Adidas Originals ZX Flux . A Swiss Federal Tribunal ruling published Friday said that FIFAs disputes panel and the Court of Arbitration for Sport correctly imposed the sanction for Nantes enticing Guinea forward Ismael Bangoura to break his contract with Dubai club Al Nasr in January 2012. HOUSTON -- DirkNowitzki scoffed at the notion that hes playing as well now as he did when he led the Dallas Mavericks to a title in 2011. He will, however, concede that at age 35 hes having a pretty good season. Nowitzki scored 31 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Mavericks to a 111-104 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday night. He joked that his big night was simply luck before getting serious and discussing the work he puts in off the court. "Hopefully I can light it up a couple of more years and then slowly fade away," he said, breaking into a huge smile. Dallas coach Rick Carlisle isnt surprised at what Nowitzki, who is averaging 21.5 points a game, is doing for his team this season. "Hes the great DirkNowitzki," Carlisle said. "Hes one of the great players in the history of the game." Nowitzki missed the first 27 games of last season after knee surgery and the Mavericks missed the playoffs for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. He feels like his game is good now and his injury is behind him, but he wants to do more. "The driving the ball is whats missing a little now," he said. "I do a lot of one or two dribble and then up, but I want to get back to driving some more to the basket and get to the foul line. I dont think Im in 11 shape, but compared to the last two years I feel a lot better. The right knee is great and I feel better." Nowitzkis performance on Monday night gave him 25,629 career points, which moved him past Alex English for 13th place in scoring in NBA history. Houston cut the lead to six after a 3-pointer by AaronBrooks with about 3 1/2 minutes left, but Nowitzki knocked down consecutive baskets to push the Mavericks lead to 107-97. Houston coach Kevin McHale was frustrated that his team was unable to slow Nowitzki down. "We tried a bunch of different stuff," McHale said. "We tried showing and coming back. We tried staying on there. We tried running at him. Nothing seemed to work." DwightHoward had 29 points and 15 rebounds for the Rockets, who were playing their second straight game without leading scorer JamesHarden, who was out with a sprained left ankle. Dallas started the final period by using a 9-4 rrun powered by three 3-pointers, including two from JaeCrowder, to push the lead to 95-82. Nike Air Max 90 Rea. JeremyLin, who has been out since Dec. 13 because of back spasms, scored 20 and ChandlerParsons had 21 for Houston. Dallas outscored Houston 17-10 over the last five minutes of the third quarter to stretch a one-point lead into an 86-78 advantage entering the fourth quarter. VinceCarter scored seven points during that time and Crowder added five. MontaEllis had 18 points for Dallas, Carter had 16 and JoseCalderon added 15 points with five assists. With the speedy Harden out, the Rockets relied on their inside game and outscored the Mavericks 60-32 in the paint. But the Mavericks had the advantage from 3-point range, where they made 11 to Houstons seven 3-pointers. "They hit a lot of tough shots tonight, especially in the second half," Howard said. "They shot great the whole game. When a team is shooting that good they are tough to beat." A 15-1 spurt by Dallas to open that second half erased a seven-point halftime deficit and gave the Mavericks a 65-58 lead with eight minutes left in the third quarter. Nowitzki led the way in that stretch, making seven points including a 3-pointer. The Rockets came out flat to start the third, missing six shots and turning the ball over twice in the first few minutes of the quarter. The Rockets finally snapped out of their offensive slump after that, using a 10-4 run to get within 69-68 with about 5 1/2 minutes left in the quarter. Parsons made four quick points near the end of it before Howard put an exclamation point on the run with a nifty sideways alley-oop dunk. Houston led by one point about six minutes before halftime and used an 11-2 run over the next four minutes to extend its lead to 52-42. Howard got things going in that span by scoring six straight points and capped the run with a free throw. The Rockets led 57-50 at halftime. NOTES: Houston announced during the game that guard PatrickBeverley had surgery on Monday to repair a fracture in his right hand and will be out 4-6 weeks. ... Calderon has scored more than 10 points in 18 of his last 20 games. ... Houston has scored at least 60 points in the paint in three of its last four games. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

Topic : ve plays. NOTES -- LeFevour became the Ticats third different starter

A lot of lesser known players are getting quality opportunities. Michael Wacha Cardinals Jersey . NathanGerbe, PatrickMaroon, JoeColborne, TomasTatar, MichaelBournival and more are covered in Scott Cullens latest blog. 1. One of the best lines in the league last season was the Carolina Hurricanes trio of JiriTlusty, EricStaal and AlexanderSemin. This season hasnt started so well, particularly for Tlusty, who scored 23 goals and 38 points in 48 games last season, but has just two goals and three points in the first dozen games this season. Tlusty has been bumped from that line in favour of NathanGerbe, the mighty mite winger who is one of the best stories of this young NHL season. After scoring 29 goals and 72 points in 188 games with the Buffalo Sabres, Gerbe had a two-way deal with the Hurricanes and earned a spot with the NHL club in camp. Not only did he secure a regular spot in the lineup, but hes played a significant role, a career-high 18:37 per game, while scoring four goals and seven points in a dozen games. More impressively, Gerbe has generated 3.42 shots on goal per game, the same as San Joses LoganCouture, and an indication that Gerbes offensive contributions arent merely a matter of good fortune. In fact, with an on-ice shooting percentage of 3.4%, its easy to argue that Gerbe has been relatively unlucky offensively and should have a few more points given the chances created. Theres nothing to say that Gerbe wont get pulled from the Staal-Semin pairing, but the former Boston College star is getting an opportunity, and ice time, unlike anything he has received in the NHL. 2. Injuries (DustinPenner, SakuKoivu, JakobSilfverberg, MattBeleskey) continue to thin out the lines for the Anaheim Ducks, but they have also provided an opportunity for PatrickMaroon to skate with RyanGetzlaf and CoreyPerry on the Ducks top line. Maroon is a 25-year-old power forward who has had some minor league success, scoring 118 AHL goals in five-plus seasons, but had just three points in 15 NHL games coming into the season. Hes held his own in the possession game and is taking to his new surroundings well, putting up four points and a plus-6 rating in the last five games. Given his limited track record, its early to buy-in on Maroon totally, but hes getting an opportunity and if he makes the most of it, he could earn a regular spot in the lineup. 3. It seems like forever ago that Flames C JoeColborne was drafted 16th overall by the Boston Bruins and, in some ways, the last five years might feel like an eternity to Colborne, who has been traded twice and is just getting a chance to play a regular role in the NHL after scoring 125 points in 211 AHL games. Colborne had six points in 16 games over the last three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but when training camp neared an end and the Leafs didnt want to risk sending Colborne down to the AHL, knowing that he would likely be claimed on waivers, they got what they could in trade, a conditional fourth-round pick from the Flames. With former Leafs GM Brian Burke now the President in Calgary, its not a surprise that Colborne is getting a chance to play. At the same time, its not like he was giften an opportunity, playing under nine minutes in four of his first five games with the Flames. The ice time has picked up a bit, as has Colbornes production (1 G, 1 A, plus-4 in last 3 GP). He played a season-high 15:18 against Washington Saturday, skating on a line with LW T.J.Galiardi and RW MikeCammalleri. It may not last or Colborne may just be the guy who has nine points in 26 career NHL games. 4. After starting the year on the Stars number one line, and then moving down the depth chart, ErikCole has rejoined TylerSeguin and JamieBenn. It worked in Buffalo, which might not be the best measuring stick, as Cole has two assists and played a season-high 20:17. If Cole is going to maintain such a spot on the depth chart, though, he has to generate more shots on goal. Right now, hes averaging 1.64 shots per game, which is ever-so-slightly better than the 1.61 per game he had in Dallas last season after he was acquired from Montreal. When he scored 35 goals for Montreal, in 2011-2012, Cole averaged 2.94 shots on goal per game, so thats a rather precipitous drop in a short amount of time for the soon-to-be 35-year-old winger. Interestingly, Cole replaced RichPeverley on the No. 1 line, but Peverley has better possession numbers, with a lower percentage of offensive zone starts than Cole this season. If neither Cole nor Peverley can settle into the role, there may eventually be an opportunity for rookie ValeriNichushkin, who has been playing more (16:18 ATOI in last three games) recently. 5. While Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has bemoaned his clubs lack of offensive production, Ive taken up the cause of rookie C BrandonPirri, who had three points in his first three games of the season, despite playing fewer than 10 minutes in each of them. Pirri had two points in seven NHL games over the last three seasons while he primarily plied his trade in the AHL, developing to the point that he put up 75 points in 76 games last season. Pirri got more of an opportunity Tuesday, centering BrandonSaad and PatrickKane, picking up a pair of assists in a 5-1 Blackhawks win. While it was a positive step, there are still reasons to have modest expectations for Pirri. One, he likely wouldnt have even had that opportunity if not for an injury to veteran C MichalHandzus, who has played a lot of second-line centre for the Blackhawks since he was picked up from San Jose for a fourth-round pick last season. The other concern is that Pirri is at the bottom end of the possession metrics for Blackhawks forwards. Hes not far behind Handzus, but Pirri needs to improve his all-around play (or simply benefit from injury) if hes going to get an extended look in the role that seems totally suited to his skills. 6. Detroit has been forced to juggle their lines, trying to elicit offensive production from those not named HenrikZetterberg, PavelDatsyuk or DanielAlfredsson. One of the beneficiaries has been winger TomasTatar, who joined a line with Zetterberg and JohanFranzen. While Tatar doesnt have any points in four games this season. The 22-year-old hasnt been sent to the AHL because he requires waivers and would never clear after he scored 39 goals and 70 points in 85 (regular season plus playoff) games last season. Tatar played a career-high 15:11 for the Wings against the Rangers Saturday, more than he had played in his previous 30 NHL games, and hes been solid enough in his limited playing time this year. Theres offensive upside with Tatar, but hell have to get some consistent playing time before its fair to place expectations on him. By splitting up Zetterberg and PavelDatsyuk, the Wings left Datsyuk to play with Alfredsson and ToddBertuzzi. With those forwards comprising the top two lines, the obvious player to fall out is StephenWeiss, a free agent signing in the summer who has been having a really hard time in his first dozen games with the Wings, scoring two goals and posting a minus-5 rating. 7. There seems to be some dissatisfaction with the play of Kings LW DustinBrown, who has two goals and five points in a dozen games, and hes recently been replaced on the top line by LW DwightKing. A 6-foot-4 winger who has four goals on the season, after a hat trick against Phoenix last Thursday, is getting a chance to play with AnzeKopitar and JustinWilliams, two players that are both consistent in their offensive production, but also in their domination of puck possession. King doesnt figure to have the skill to keep pace with them on a long-term basis, but its an interesting opportunity for as long as he gets to play with the big boys. 8. Injuries have hit the Montreal Canadiens forward lines hard, but it has opened up an opportunity for rookie winger MichaelBournival, who has been spending recent games skating with veteran C TomasPlekanec and RW BrianGionta. Bournival hasnt looked out place in the least, putting up strong possession numbers along with two goals and six points, with a plus-4 rating, in nine games. Once MaxPacioretty, Danny Briere, BrandonPrust and others make their way back to the Canadiens lineup, Bournival may not be in such a prime spot, but as long as he remains productive, hes going to make it more difficult to send him back to the American Hockey League. 9. There hasnt been a ton of stability on the Minnesota Wild top line, with ZachParise and MikkoKoivu going through JasonPominville and NinoNiederreiter before their latest right winger, rookie JustinFontaine. A 25-year-old who played collegiately at Minnesota-Duluth, Fontaine wassnt drafted, but had 152 points in 124 games over his last three college seasons, and had 111 points in 137 AHL games in his first two pro seasons. Fontaine has three goals and a plus-5 rating in 13 games this year, but two of those goals have come in the last four games and hes also played more than 16 minutes in two of the last four games (hes played under 14 in the other 11). Like others on this list, Fontaine is not necessarily positioned to stick in his current role, but its worth seeing what he can do with the chance hes being given. 10. Goals havent been easy to come by in New Jersey and perhaps that shouldnt come as a shock considering that Ilya Koalchuk bolted to the KHL in the offseason and their top two centres coming into the year, TravisZajac and AdamHenrique, had combined for 36 points in 90 games last season. Henrique and Zajac both have one goal and four points through 11 games this season, so there is an opportunity for AndreiLoktionov, a player who has shown some skill, with 97 points in 135 AHL games, but hasnt yet been able to make a mark in the NHL. Last years 12 points in 28 games with the Devils represents a career-high. Though he only has three points in 10 games this year, Loktionov is getting a shot with veteran Czech wingers PatrikElias and JaromirJagr. If 23-year-old Loktionov is going to prove that hes capable of putting up points in the NHL, those are wingers that should help find his offensive mojo. 11. While the hype was mostly on VincentLecavalier when he scored a hat trick while playing right wing with ClaudeGiroux against the Islanders, its notable that their left winger was rookie MichaelRaffl, the 24-year-old who is making a big jump from the Swedish Allsvenskan (below Elite League) to the NHL. Raffl got his first NHL point, while playing 9:18, his lowest ice time in five NHL games. While his puck possessions stats are solid enough in limited ice time, its hard to imagine that Raffl is the best option long-term on that line, what with the likes of MattRead and WayneSimmonds toiling as the third line (ScottHartnell and JakubVoracek as second line) wings. 12. While this isnt quite the same line combination as some of the others that Ive referenced, its worth noting that Capitals C MikhailGrabovski has fared just fine since he was demoted to the third line. The Capitals finally moved MartinErat out of a fourth-line role and Erat responded with three assists in his first game on the second line with BrooksLaich and TroyBrouwer. Since then? No points, minus-5 and three shots on goal in four games. Grabovski, on the other hand, has four points (2 G, 2 A) and is plus-3 in the last four games. Grabovskis goals have come on the power play, but has been productive enough with linemates JasonChimera and JoelWard. FIRST NHL GAMES MichaelChaput, C, Columbus - Acquired from Philadelphia in the TomSestito trade, Chaput played a modest 7:48 against Anaheim, skating on a line with RyanCraig and JaredBoll. Thats not going to provide much opportunity, but teh 21-year-old has 36 points in 79 AHL games and could probably use more time to develop before getting a real shot to stick. KevinConnauton, D, Dallas - Picked up from Vancouver in the DerekRoy deal last season, Connauton has played three full seasons in the AHL and has to clear waivers to be sent to the AHL, so hes been biding his time in Big D and played 16:05 at Calgary, playing mostly with veteran SergeiGonchar. JaysonMegna, RW, Pittsburgh - A 23-year-old winger who was signed as a free agent in 2012 out of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Megna had 12 points in 56 AHL games as a rookie pro, but started this year better, putting up five points in six games before getting recalled due to injuries taking JamesNeal, BeauBennett and ChuckKobasew out of the Penguins lineup. Megna had a goal and an assist in his second game and has a chance to stick around with all those players out of the lineup. DarrenArchibald, LW, Vancouver - A physical 23-year-old winger, Archibald wasnt drafted and worked his way up through the ECHL to the AHL, where he had 22 points in 55 games last season. Hes not playing much, but Archibald and JeremyWelsh are giving the Canucks some size on the fourth line. CHIRPING "The seasons going on." - Kings coach Darryl Sutter, after Kings LW DustinBrown responded to a question about his low hit totals by saying that he gets more physical as the season goes on. "You can be a fun team, but if youre going to just go out there and give away chances and give away four or five goals a night, then you might be entertaining but you wont be winning,"- Coyotes coach Dave Tippett isnt thrilled with the way his team is winning. The result was a game-winning, power-play goal. Chiasson snapped a third-period tie and lifted the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory on Monday night. Bob Gibson Cardinals Jersey . The import DB was taken to a nearby hospital after catching his head awkwardly trying to tackle Winnipeg running back Will Ford in the first quarter of the game at the Rogers Centre.HAMILTON, Ont. -- Dan LeFevour stole the spotlight from Henry Burris on Saturday night. LeFevour threw for 361 yards and a touchdown and rushed for a game-high 109 yards and a TD in his first CFL start, leading the Hamilton Tiger-Cats past the Ottawa Redblacks 33-23. Burris was making his first appearance in Hamilton since being released by the club in January after it signed Zach Collaros as a free agent. Burris served as the Ticats starter for two seasons and led the squad to a Grey Cup appearance last year while also tutoring LeFevour. Although LeFevour spoiled Burriss return, LeFevour downplayed any suggestion the game was about the quarterbacks. "It had nothing to do with him," LeFevour said. "It was just good to see him. "I talked to him during the week and after the game . . . he was encouraging me. Hes a great guy, he really is." LeFevour, 27, was an impressive dual threat for Hamilton (1-3). He completed 21-of-30 passes while also running 13 times, his one-yard TD at 9:44 of the fourth snapping a 23-23 tie. The big play was LeFevour hitting C.J. Gable on an 83-yard screen pass that, with a horse-tackle penalty, put the Ticats at the Ottawa one-yard line to the delight of the Ron Joyce Stadium sellout of 6,500. "You saw what a competitor he is," Hamilton coach/GM Kent Austin said. "Real strong will to win, threw the ball well. "Early on he pulled the ball down a little too soon but finally settled in and let the game come to him some more. He just really had a command of the offence." For the first time this season, Gable was a key figure in Hamiltons offence. The speedy running back ran six times for 62 yards and a TD while adding three catches for a team-high 105 yards as the Ticats rolled up 558 total offensive yards. Burris, 39, finished 27-of-44 passing for 290 yards and two TDs and an interception while throwing his first interception of the season. Ottawa (1-3) pulled into a 23-23 tie on Brett Mahers 23-yard field goal at 4:41 of the fourth. "He did a good job," Burris said of LeFevour. "He ran the offence, got the ball to his playmakers and made some plays. "Im proud of him. I just wish he wouldve saved that for another night but kudos to him." Ottawa head coach Rick Campbell said LeFevours legs were key to Hamiltons victory. "Hes a runner, if you give him escape lanes he makes you pay," Campbell said. "We were trying to get him to hold the ball, which he did a couple of times, but he made some plays with his feet . . . then we gave up some huge plays. "Him and Gable, theyre good athletes and youve got to be right on those guys because they make big plays. Denny McClain Tigers Jersey. quot; The Redblacks were coming off their first-ever win, an 18-17 home decision against Toronto last week, and Marcus Henry certainly did his part with 10 catches for 138 yards and a TD. But Burris said his club hurt itself against the Ticats. "We found ways to hurt ourselves," he said. "We had more opportunities to put more points on the board. "This was one of those matches where the last offence that had the ball was going to win the game. Hamilton did a good job of making big plays, we didnt make enough big plays. We cant be shooting ourselves in the foot in those key situations." The game was the Ticats home opener and their first in Hamilton in 21 months as last years home contests were played at the University of Guelph while Tim Hortons Field was being built. Saturdays contest was supposed to open Tim Hortons Field but construction delays will force the team to play at least its first two home games at McMaster. Hamilton hosts the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday night. Brandon Banks had Hamiltons other touchdown. Medlock added the converts and four field goals. Matt Carter scored Ottawas other touchdown. Maher had the converts and three field goals. Medlocks 36-yard field goal capped an entertaining first half and earned Hamilton a 20-17 advantage. It was set up by Craig Butlers interception that put the Ticats at their own 45-yard line. The contest began at a fever pitch with TDs on the first three possessions. Banks took LeFevours shovel pass 53 yards for the score on the second play from scrimmage just 58 seconds in before Burris countered with a smart 13-play, 96-yard march he capped with a 10-yard TD toss to Carter at 7:35. But Gables 47-yard touchdown run on the Ticats fifth offensive play at 9:29 put them ahead 14-7 as they opened by gaining 158 yards on their first five plays. NOTES -- LeFevour became the Ticats third different starter this year after Collaros (head injury) and Jeremiah Masoli started the earlier contests . . . Saturdays game was the first between Hamilton and Ottawa since Oct. 21, 2005 when the Ticats downed the former Renegades 40-32 . . . Ottawa entered weekend action tied atop the East Division with Toronto and Montreal. The last time an Ottawa club was first in the East was Aug. 19, 2005 when the Renegades were 5-3 but they lost their next six games to fall from playoff contention . . . Ottawas scratches were defensive lineman Nigel Romick and tackle Nate Menkin while Hamilton`s were receiver Greg Ellingson and defensive lineman Arnaud Gascon-Nadon. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '
