MIAMI -- For the first time all season, the Miami Heat are alone atop the Eastern Conference. Detroit Lions LaAdrian Waddle Mens Alternate Jersey Game Nike NFL Blue . And thats quite a turnaround from how things seemed less than a week ago. LeBronJames fought through a sore back to score 32 points, ChrisBosh added 18 and the Heat used another strong defensive effort to beat the Toronto Raptors 93-83 on Monday night. The win pushed the two-time defending NBA champions percentage points ahead of the struggling Indiana Pacers in the race for the No. 1 seed in the East. "It doesnt feel like anything," James said. "The standings are what they are. We want to play the best we can and the fact that we are in first place, I think thats pretty cool but weve got so much work to do. Weve got too much work to do. Weve got guys that need to get healthy. We havent even talked about it. We probably wont talk about it. Weve got to play the season out." ChrisAndersen scored 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting and MarioChalmers added 12 for Miami (51-22), which was again without DwyaneWade (hamstring), GregOden (back) and RayAllen (flu). Indiana (52-23) lost at home earlier Monday night to San Antonio, 103-77. "The No. 1 seed is the last thing on our minds right now," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said after his teams loss. The Heat -- who were three games out in the East after losing at Indiana on Wednesday -- are basically saying the same thing. Sure, its a neat perk -- Heat coach Erik Spoelstra called it an "ancillary" effect of hard work -- and Bosh acknowledged the outcomes Monday merited a very subtle fist-pump from him. But theres still plenty of time for things to change, and Miami is thinking more about getting those who are hurt and sick back into rhythm with the playoffs coming up in less than three weeks. "Were aware of it," Spoelstra said of the standings. "Its not that were naive to it. I didnt talk about it. ... These were pros that were getting ready for battle and its that type of focus, thats the type of thing were trying to stress right now, the process of building those habits. The results will follow. They tend to take care of themselves." GreivisVasquez scored 17 points, DeMarDeRozan scored 16 and JonasValanciunas finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors. SteveNovak added 13 for Toronto, which lost KyleLowry to a sore left knee late in the third quarter after he collided with James. "It was a hard-fought game -- basketball at a high level," Vasquez said. "We lost it in the third period. We came out too relaxed. We didnt attack the basket. Everything worked for them." Lowrys knee swelled, Raptors coach Dwane Casey said, and that hardly sounds like good news for a team fighting for the No. 3 spot in the East. "He bumped knees," Casey said. "It puffed up a little bit. X-rays were negative. We just have to wait and see how he is tomorrow." The Heat were down 10 midway through the second quarter, and then closed the half on a 22-9 run to take the lead and never trailed again. Bosh had consecutive baskets in the fourth quarter, the last of them an easy breakaway, to put Miami up by nine. A possession later, after a 3-pointer from Vasquez, James split a pair of defenders on the dribble and found ToneyDouglas for a right-wing 3. And after a stop on the ensuing Miami trip, James got a wild layup to fall while getting fouled. Moments later, the Heat could look at the standings and finally see themselves on top. "We could still lose it," Bosh said. "That reality is there. We just have to keep concentrating on what weve been doing." NOTES: Miami has now won 15 straight against the Raptors, the last 14 of those meetings coming since Bosh left Toronto and joined the Heat during the summer of 2010. ... Monday was the start of a five-game homestand for the Heat, who face Milwaukee, Minnesota, New York and Brooklyn. Detroit Lions Golden Tate III Womens Alternate Jersey Game Nike NFL Blue . Liverpool is at the top at Christmas for the first time since 2008 after scoring 42 goals. Only Manchester City has been more lethal in front of goal, with the team a point behind Liverpool and Arsenal in third scoring 51 goals in 17 games. Lions Chris Houston Womens Alternate Jersey Nike NFL Blue . So far, his encore is even better. Wainwright became the National Leagues first eight-game winner by dominating Cincinnati again, and the St.SEATTLE - Fresh off spending more than two hours winding his way in front of a parade crowd that surpassed the population of Seattle, Pete Carroll was ready for the post-season to finally arrive. Perhaps Carroll was so prepared for a break because he believes there is very little the Seattle Seahawks need heading into the off-season. "I dont see anything that we need to add. We just have to get better," Carroll said. "These players know that they got better all the way to the last game of the season. Thats always out there for us and that will continue to be our focus." Carroll and his team were feted in grand fashion on Wednesday, enjoying the first championship parade for a team in one of the four major sports in the city of Seattle since 1979. Seattle officials estimated the crowd along the parade route at 700,000 while owner Paul Allen, addressing a celebration at CenturyLink Field, said it was 1 million fans that crammed downtown streets. Carroll was at the front of the parade and later was leading the charge that this team he helped put together is not expecting to be a one-year wonder. "They have come together to do something very special and its not just one year," Carroll told the crowd. "Were just getting warmed up if you know what Im talking about." That means Carroll doesnt believe the Seahawks need to make major off-season additions as they did a year ago when Seattle signed defensive linemen CliffAvril, TonyMcDaniel and MichaelBennett in free agency and traded for PercyHarvin. Seattle will continue to mine the draft for gems like those they have found in the past and look at free agency but Carroll said they are very comfortable with the roster they have moving forward. "The priority is for us to get back to work and work really hard again. Thats going to be more important. Its not going to be something from the outside of us. We have what we need, we just need to get back to work when the time comes with the right attitude and the right focus. Thats all Im concerned about." It appears SSeattles free agency focus will be on trying to retain players on its current roster that could be coveted by others. Glover Quin Womens Road Jersey. Wide receiver GoldenTate and Bennett will both be free agents in the off-season and both expressed their desire to return to Seattle. Tate is at the end of his rookie contract, while Bennett gambled on a one-year deal with Seattle last off-season and now could be in line for a significant pay increase after a standout season with a team-high 8 1/2 sacks in the regular season and another 1 1/2 in the playoffs. Bennett became the interior pass rusher that Carroll has sought since his arrival in Seattle and part of a defensive line rotation that caused havoc. "I want to be back here 100 per cent," Bennett said. "I love the team. I love my teammates. Pete does a great job letting us play. I want to be a part of that. I know we can go back and win a Super Bowl again with all of these guys." Tate was Seattles leading receiver this season, his fourth with the team after being a second-round pick in 2010 as part of Carrolls first draft class. Tate said he would consider accepting a "little" less money for a chance to stay with the Seahawks. "In my eyes I would rather stay and play in a great organization, in a great city, around great people, around great teammates for a little less than go to a crappy city and win a ball game every now and then and be miserable for six months and have a fan base that doesnt care about the sport," Tate said. "Youve got to give a little or take a little, whatever. Well see how it works out. Hopefully, it does work out. I think Ive done everything in my power to earn the trust and respect of this organization." Carroll said Seattle will go into the off-season very healthy, the only lingering concern being a possible surgery on the toe of left tackle RussellOkung, who was injured in Week 2 against San Francisco and aggravated it later in the season. Harvin came out of the Super Bowl fine with his hip and now gets an entire off-season to get healthy. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

In the end, the Ottawa Senators wingers injury became too much to bear. Ryans season came to an end March 27 as he underwent surgery for a sports hernia that had been bothering him since November. "For me, individually, I felt like being here, new team, new situation and we were up and down as a team and werent where we needed to be as a team (so) I wanted to play," Ryan said. "I wanted to compete with the guys." Ryan had the support of the organization and his teammates to keep playing. Trainers did their best to help Ryan deal with the daily pain, but things finally came to a head. Ryan had hoped to wait until the end of the season to undergo surgery, but a collision with the boards in Dallas on March 22 forced him to shut things down. "We hoped that the Olympic break would really calm it down and it was quite the opposite that happened," Ryan said. "I came back and it was beyond what we thought I could play through, but to me it meant more to play at that point. It was whatever it was going to take. "When I fell into the wall in Dallas that was kind of the end of it." Ryan finished the season with 23 goals and 48 points since being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks last July. Coming into training camp Ryan was eager to play a significant role with the Senators, and looking back the 27-year-old says hes not sure how to assess his first season in Ottawa. "I dont know if happy is the right word," Ryan said. "I think Im indifferent towards it right now. Even though Ive been doing absolutely nothing there hasnt been a whole lot of time to reflect on it. There were certainly games that Im going to remember and if we end up missing (the playoffs) by four, five, six points theres going to be games that a lot of us remember." As a whole Ryan said he cant help but feel a little frustrated by how the injury affected his performance. Ryan will be heading into the final year of his contract next season, and while he hasnt given much thought to his status he said he would be happy to stay in Ottawa. "I love it here, we (Ryan and fiancee Danielle Rhodes) love it here more importantly," said Ryan. "Its been a great change for us. When the time comes if thats the route (general manager Bryan Murray) wants to go to sit down and have conversations well certainly do that." Ryan went as far as saying that he could even see himself having a long future with Ottawa. Recovery from the surgery isnt expected to hamper Ryans off-season training. For now he is extremely limited, but will be able to start light training in tthe next couple of weeks and then should be fine to resume his regular training regimen over the summer. Nike Air Max Femme Solde. While the rest of his teammates arent ready to call it a season just yet, the Senators slim hopes of making the playoffs suffered dramatically with Wednesdays 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders. With six games remaining the Senators are focused on finishing strong starting with Fridays game against the Montreal Canadiens. The last time the two teams met the Senators suffered a crushing overtime loss in was the first of what turned out to be a five-game losing streak, which many point to as the turning point of Ottawas season. "That was a tough game," said forward ClarkeMacArthur. "We let that one get away. Thats just learning to play with confidence when you have the lead and knowing how to play when you have the lead." Games against Montreal are usually competitive, and on Friday the Senators will be looking for redemption. "You always want to play hard against them, theyre a competitive team," added MacArthur. "We wont have any trouble getting up for that one." As a group the Senators are at a loss to explain how things slipped away, but realize consistency was likely the biggest problem. "The potential that we have on our team and in our lineup is there," said defenceman MarcMethot. "We have the skill set we just couldnt seem to put it together and ultimately I think thats what killed us." Senators coach Paul MacLean said the team spent too much time in their own zone, allowed too many turnovers and took too many penalties The Senators are the second-most penalized team in the league with 404 infractions. The Flyers lead the league with 405. When asked how to change the mindset MacLean made it sound simple. "Practice is the first solution we have and the next solution I guess is different players." For now MacLean says hes focused on the next six games and says the team has to be ready for its next opponent and cant speculate on what changes might be made for next season. "We could say we can change everything, but the reality is you cant just blow everything up," said MacLean. "Weve done a lot of good work here in the last three years. It doesnt look like it right now, but weve had a lot of growth in a lot of our players and we need to recognize that." Notes: D ErikKarlsson was given a maintenance day Thursday. C JasonSpezza did not skate and will be a game day decision Friday. D JaredCowen and LW ColinGreening are both expected to miss Friday and Saturdays game. G CraigAnderson will get the start against Montreal. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

Unfortunately Han Solo will not be included for this release, so goalies will not be able to ask players the age old question of who shot first. Cheap Jerseys . As the lowest-ranked of nine unseeded European qualifiers, France was expected to go in the Africa-dominated draw pot meaning it could not be placed in the same group as a top-seeded European team. Cheap Jerseys Authentic . The team said BryceHarper and AdamLaRoche also had operations this week. Harper had the bursa in his left knee repaired after it had hampered him last season. BERLIN -- Bayern Munich stayed in control of the Bundesliga by cruising past Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 on Saturday with two early goals and a late strike by Arjen Robben on his return from injury. Thomas Mueller and Daniel van Buyten scored inside the first 19 minutes and Robben completed the win in the 90th. The Dutchman came on in the 77th and collected a through ball from Bastian Schweinsteiger to slot home after sitting out four weeks with a groin injury. "It was important to get back into the rhythm somewhat after four weeks," Robben said. "Its fun to get back into such a good team. But I need time, I am not yet there where I want to be with my game." Bayerns sixth win in seven matches -- with 21 goals scored and one conceded -- left it two points ahead of Borussia Moenchengladbach, which beat Nuremberg 1-0. Lukasz Piszczek scored his first goal for Borussia Dortmund late in the match to rally the defending Bundesliga champion to a 2-1 victory at Mainz. The Poland defenders goal in the 90th minute ended Dortmunds three-game run without a win. Piszczek connected with a volley from nearly 30 metres (yards) out to make up for a mistake that led to Mainzs first goal and seal Dortmunds first away victory. Schalke won its first game since the sudden departure of coach Ralf Rangnick by beating Freiburg 4-2. Wolfsburg beat Kaiserslautern 1-0 despite being down to 10 men and promoted Augsburg is still winless after drawing 0-0 at home with Hannover. In Munich, Franck Ribery easily dribbled past 18-year-old Leverkusen defender Danny da Costa making his Bundesliga debut and sent a low cross for Mueller to prod home after five minutes. Defender van Buyten doubled the lead in the 19th, powering home a free kick laid off by Schweinsteiger and Ribery through Leverkusens leaky wall into the low corner. "Leverkusen made it easy for us," Mueller said. Missing several regulars through injuries and suspensions, Leverkusen remained winless in Munich in 21 matches since 1989.cheapauthenticjerseys. Leverkusen slipped to its third loss of the season and is in 10th place. Mainz remained winless in its fifth straight game despite taking an early lead against the team of its former coach Juergen Klopp. "This feels really good," Klopp said. "Weve almost forgotten how it feels to win three points. And these were big points for us." Piszczeks careless clearance and two more mistakes by Dortmunds defenders led to Nicolai Muellers goal in the 33rd minute when he managed to score from an almost sitting position. Dortmund equalized in the 64th through Ivan Perisic, who passed one defender before driving home. Piszczek secured the win with his late shot. Schalkes coach Rangnick stepped down earlier this week because of burnout, leaving assistant Seppo Eichkorn in charge for the game against Freiburg. Schalke got off to a shaky start. Goalkeeper Ralf Faehrmanns poor attempt at a clearance delivered the ball to Freiburgs top striker Papiss Demba Cisse, who scored into the empty net only two minutes into the game. Rauls chipped cross set up Jefferson Farfans equalizer in the 33rd, before Schalke struck with three goals in quick succession in the second half. Atsuto Uchidas pinpoint cross was headed in by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the 62nd, Farfan set up Lewis Holtby in the 67 and Raul completed the scoring for Schalke in the 75th after fine work by Jose Jurado. Erik Jendrisek scored a second goal for Freiburg, on Cisses assist, but it was too late to make a difference. In Wolfsburg, defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos was sent off in added time of the first half for bringing down Itay Shechter, but Ashkan Dejagah connected with a cross from Marcel Schaefer to head in the winner in the 63rd. Captain Filip Daems converted a penalty in the 76th minute to give Moenchengladbach its fifth victory of the season. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys' ' ' |

LONDON -- Lukas Podolski scored a brace in the first half on Friday to help give Arsenal a routine 4-0 victory over third-tier Coventry in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Cheap Jerseys Authentic . In a game that Arsenal dominated from the start, Podolski put the hosts ahead in the 15th minute by slotting home a cool finish after being set up by Mesut Ozil. He then doubled the lead with a close-range header from a corner in the 27th. The win was never in doubt after that and Arsenal added two late goals as substitute Olivier Giroud struck in the 85th after replacing Podolski five minutes earlier, before Santi Cazorla slotted in the fourth. In Fridays only other FA Cup game, Nottingham Forest was held to a 0-0 draw at home against Preston. Playing in a steady drizzle in north London, it was the kind of comfortable victory Arsenal had hoped for as it looks ahead to facing Bayern Munich in the Champions League knockout round, while trying to protect its slim lead atop the Premier League. Despite playing at home against third-tier opposition, manager Arsene Wenger named a surprisingly strong starting lineup with both Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere in midfield -- perhaps worried about another upset after going out to Blackburn last season. And with Wenger contemplating buying a striker in the January transfer window, Podolski showed off his scoring touch by deciding the game in the first half. Podolski was first sent clear by Ozil on the left side of the area and calmly rounded goalkeeper Joe Murphy before slotting a left-footed shot into an empty net. The second came from a corner that Per Mertesacker met at the near post and headed on across the goal, with Podolski waiting at the far post to nod it into the net. "Podolski can score goals and when you have a goal chance you want him to have it," Wenger said. "He is very accurate in his finishing." Coventry was more enterprising after the break, enjoying several spells of pressure, but Leon Clarke wasted the teams two best chances for a goal. Clarke raced clear down the right flank in the 50th but got too close to the byline before firing a low shot from a tight angle that Fabianski parried. He then hit the right post with a first time effort from just inside the area as Arsenal seemed content to sit back and protect its lead. "I know it was 4-0 but when you consider the difference in resources of both clubs, I know its a hard luck story, but my players should take so much confidence from that performance," Coventry manager Steven Pressley said. Giroud took his only chance in front of goal by slotting in a finish inside the near post and Cazorla continued his scoring streak from a similar position for his third goal in two games. Arsenals talented 16-year-old midfielder Gedion Zelalem had also come on as a substitute, as Wenger for the first time gave a debut to a player who was born after the Frenchman became manager of the team. "That is more damaging for me than for him," Wenger joked. Zelalem has been touted as perhaps the clubs biggest talent since Cesc Fabregas and was given a rousing reception when he came on. Coventry is a former Premier League club and the 1987 FA Cup winner but has struggled both on and off the field in recent years. The team is 11th in League One this season and has been forced to play all of its home games at Northampton because of a rent dispute with the owners of Ricoh Arena. The contingent of about 6,000 Coventry fans protested the situation during the game, holding up signs in the 35th and 61st minute. Arsenal had its own stadium problems, with some of the floodlights at the Emirates going out just before halftime. The game continued without interruption, with hundreds of fans making fun of the situation by lighting up their mobile phones in the stands in mock efforts to illuminate the pitch. It was about the only thing that went wrong for Arsenal on the night. Cheap Jerseys China . Forte was injured on a run deep in Chicago territory midway through the first quarter, when Kansas Citys DerrickJohnson hit him in the knee. http://www.cheapauthenticjerseys.us.com/nike-nfl-jerseys-china_seattle-seahawks-jersey-china/ . "The opportunities are going to come," he said Monday on a conference call from Slovenia, where the team was preparing for a friendly. "If we werent creating chances then it would be a different conversation. After a 59-save shutout of the San Jose Sharks, BenScrivens has given the Edmonton Oilers reason to believe he might be the answer in net going forward. He is also set to become a unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The question is, do the Oilers sign the 27-year-old to a new deal, whether it be short or long term? Or do they trade him in hopes of maximizing his potential value? Its hard to believe that Edmonton will stand still and let Scrivens walk away at seasons end for nothing. At this point, the Spruce Grove, Alta., natives value might be higher than ever. Scrivens leads the NHL in save percentage (.937) and is second in shutouts (four). He is also third in goals-against average (1.93). You can point to the strong numbers and credit the defensive prowess of Los Angeles Kings, who are second in goals against with 116 and with whom Scrivens played 19 of his 23 games so far this season, but that isnt the whole story. In four starts with the Oilers, albeit a small sample size, Scrivens has arguably been better. His save percentage with Edmonton - who by the way have allowed a league-high 190 goals - is .024 higher than with the Kings and hiss goals-against average is . http://www.cheapauthenticjerseys.us.com/nhl-jerseys-china_chicago-blackhawks-jersey-china/. 21 lower. His 2-2 record in Edmonton his indicative of a poor defensive squad, not his individual performances. He continues to earn opportunities to carry the load in net, but on the other hand, is goaltending really at the top of Edmontons wish list right now? With a defence that has trouble defending, does it matter who anchors the crease? Other priorities may take precedence to locking down an unproven starter. Management and ownership are running out of time and fans are running out of patience. Suffering at the bottom of the league for draft picks just wont do. Unless the Oilers choose to sign Scrivens, he remains one of the few expendable and currently valuable assets on the team. Scrivens flashes of brilliance and stretches of success were alive and well in two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs and this year with the Kings, but once he came back down to Earth, so did his value. So, is Scrivens the rock in net that is going to lead the rebuilding Oilers into the future? Or is it time for Edmonton to get as much out of the streaky goaltender as possible on the trade market? As always, its Your Call! wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

The surging Montreal Canadiens will take aim at their seventh win in eight tries when they begin a four-game road trip with tonights clash against the Detroit Red Wings. Tom Seaver Authentic Jersey . You watch the game live on TSN at 7pm et/4pm pt or listen live on TSN Radio 690 Montreal. The Canadiens have won three straight and six of their past seven games, pushing them two points ahead of Tampa Bay for second place in the Atlantic Division. However, the Lightning, who host the New York Islanders on Thursday, do hold two games in hand over the Habs. Detroit, meanwhile, enters Thursday as one of four teams tied for the last two playoff berths in the Eastern Conference. With 80 points, the Red Wings are seven in back of Tampa Bay for last of the Atlantic Divisions three automatic playoff berths, meaning theyll likely need to claim one of the Easts two wild cards to qualify for a 23rd straight postseason. Columbus, Detroit, Toronto and Washington each have 80 points, but the Red Wings are the only team of that group in action on Thursday. The Blue Jackets and Red Wings have 10 games remaining in their regular-season schedules, while the Capitals and Maple Leafs have nine and eight games left, respectively. Montreal picked up its third straight win in Tuesdays home meeting against the lowly Buffalo Sabres. MaxPacioretty broke a scoreless deadlock with 9:07 to play and CareyPrice posted a 24-save shutout to lift the Canadiens to the 2-0 win over the basement-dwelling Sabres. Danny Briere added an insurance marker with Montreal on the power play at 16:54 of the third, while Price stood tall down the stretch to help kill off a late Canadiens penalty and secure his fifth shutout of the season and 24th of his career. "The goal is to make the playoffs," Briere remarked. "Were in control of our destiny and trying to rack up as many points as we can." The Canadiens won despite playing without forwards TravisMoen and DaleWeise, who were injured on the same shift in Mondays 2-1 shootout win in Boston. Detroit, which will try to halt a two-game slide on Thursday, hasnt missed the playoffs since 1990. The Red Wings had a three-game winning streak snapped with Sundays overtime loss against visiting Minnesota and then fell 4-2 in an important road clash with Columbus on Tuesday. CamAtkinson scored the winning goal for the Blue Jackets in the third period of Tuesdays game, but the decisive tally did not come without controversy. Columbus grabbed a 3-2 lead at 6:58 of the third period. The team skated the other way on a 2-on-1 and MattCalvert let fly with a shot from the right wing that Red Wings goaltender JimmyHoward stopped before Atkinson knocked in the rebound. However, the net was dislodged by Atkinson before the puck crossed the line, but BrendanSmith had pushed Atkinson into the net and the refs ruled it a good goal. "They knocked the net off and they still score," a frustrated Howard said. "I guess its something to remember in the back of our minds, you knock the net off it, just throw (the puck) in there. It should count." RyanJohansen sealed the win for Columbus with an empty-net goal in the closing seconds. GustavNyquist had both goals for the Red Wings, while Howard made 24 stops on 27 shots. Beginning with Thursdays test, Detroit is playing four of its next five games on home ice. The Red Wings are only 15-11-10 as the host this season, but the club had won four straight in the Motor City before losing Sundays game against the Wild. Detroit is 2-0 against the Habs so far in 2013-14 and the clubs will meet once more in the regular season when Montreal hosts the Red Wings on April 5. The Red Wings have won four of five and six of eight overall in the series and have come out on top in the last two encounters at Joe Louis Arena. Montreal is opening a four-game road trip on Thursday and boasts a solid 20-14-2 record as the visiting club this season. Matt Harvey Mets Jersey . KIEV, Ukraine -- Ukraine coach Oleh Blokhin has called up two uncapped goalkeepers for a training camp because of injuries ahead of the start of the European Championship next month. Oleksandr Bandura from Metalurh Donetsk and Maksym Koval from Dynamo Kyiv were included in the provisional 26-man squad announced Tuesday on the Ukrainian football federations website. They replace Oleksandr Shovkovskiy (shoulder surgery) and Andriy Dykan (facial injury), who have both been ruled out of Euro 2012. First-choice keeper Oleksandr Rybka is serving a two-year suspension for a doping offence and is likely to be replaced by Andriy Pyatov from Shakhtar Donetsk. Also missing was Shakhtar Donetsk defender Dmytro Chygrynskiy after an injury-plagued season. The federation said Blokhin would not comment on the squad until a news conference scheduled for Monday. Ukraine, which co-hosts the June 8-July 1 event with Poland, will travel to Turkey for a training camp from May 15-24, before heading to Germany and Austria for three friendly games against Estonia, Austria and Turkey. ST. Clinton McDonald Youth Red Jersey Tampa Bay Buccaneers Elite Nike NFL Home . LOUIS -- Facing trouble, MichaelWacha did his best to slow down the game. He certainly frustrated New York Mets hitters who had him on the ropes. Wacha escaped a pair of jams with strikeouts, and the St. Louis Cardinals snapped a fifth-inning tie en route to a 5-2 victory on Tuesday night. "I hadnt been doing that in my last three starts," Wacha said. "It was nice to be able to start making pitches and being able to execute." DanielMurphy couldnt deal with the changeup when he struck out with runners on second and third to end the fifth inning. "I dont think I swung at a single strike the at-bat I struck out," Murphy said. "He threw the ball well to me, and I helped him out." Murphy wasnt alone. "I dont think there are too many right-handers with a better changeup," Cardinals manager MikeMatheny said. "I think thats accepted league-wide." YadierMolina hit his first homer since May 24 for the Cardinals, who have won eight of nine and will go for a three-game sweep on Wednesday. They have won a season-best five in a row and are a season-best seven games above .500. DavidWright hit his first homer since May 28, and LucasDuda also connected for the Mets, who have lost 11 of 14. "Theres many sleepless nights," Wright said. "I wont lie and say its easy or it doesnt bother me, but you have to understand theres not too many players, if any, that can go through a whole season and ride that roller-coaster ride a little bit." Mets manager Terry Collins batted the pitcher eighth, with EricYoung Jr. hitting ninth, for the second straight game in an effort to stimulate the offence. During the 14-game slump, the Mets have scored two or fewer runs seven times. DaisukeMatsuzaka worked a scoreless seventh inning in relief of Mets starter Jonathon Niese (3-4). Matsuzaka left Sundays start against San Diego after one inning because of a severe upset stomach. Wacha (5-5) gave up a run and five hits in six innings. Fanning Murphy preserved a 1-all tie, and he struck out RubenTejada with two on to end the sixth when the Cardinals led 3-1. Wacha had a career-best 10 strikeouts on April 23 at New York but also had a career-worst five walks and lasted four innings in a loss. JonJays RBI triple with two outs in the fifth gave the Cardinals the lead, and MattHolliday followed with an RBI double. Pinch-hitter KoltenWong and PeterBourjos added RBIs in the sixth, with both runs unearned after second baseman Murphy dropped DanielDescalsos slicing, looping liner with a man on and two out. "I just misplayed it," Murphy said. Jay is batting .405 (15 for 37) in his last 12 games with four multi-hit games. It was his first RBI since May 30. "Hes on a real good run at the plate," Matheny said. "The way hes taking his at-bats ... weve seen this before. You just see him go, and its fun to watch him go." Niese allowed five runs, three earned, in six innings. The lefty has made 18 consecutive starts allowing three or fewer earned runs. It is the longest active streak in the majors, extending to last September, but he is just 5-5 during that span. Wright entered the game 3 for 43 in his last 13 games. He leads the Mets with 34 RBIs, but has just four this month. The home run was his first on the road this season. Duda hit his ninth homer of the season leading off the ninth against JasonMotte to make it 5-2, and AnthonyRecker doubled, but PatNeshek retired the next three for his second save in four chances. NOTES: LanceLynn (7-4, 3.16) faces BartoloColon (6-5, 4.15) in the series finale on Wednesday. Lynn worked eight scoreless innings in his last start. ... Yep, the Ducks have spectacular timing in just about everything they do these days. Lovejoy scored two goals in the first period, JonasHiller made 16 saves in his 10th consecutive victory and the Ducks beat the Edmonton Oilers 5-2 Friday night for their 12th win in 13 games. Lovejoy had scored just five goals in his 170-game NHL career, and he had just one goal in 40 games this season before firing two slap shots past IlyaBryzgalov 2:43 apart late in the first period. With perfect setups from SakuKoivu and CamFowler, Lovejoy tied the club record for the most goals scored by a defenceman in one period. "It has to be perfectly in my wheelhouse, and those guys were able to find it," Lovejoy said. "Its a very small sweet spot." After scoring the fastest two goals by a defenceman in franchise history, Lovejoy thought about the serendipity: His wife, Avery, and their new daughter, Lila, were at home watching for the first time since Lila was born on New Years Eve. "We may have to keep pumping them out if I can keep scoring two goals a night," Lovejoy said with a grin. KylePalmieri, TimJackman and AndrewCogliano also scored for the Ducks, who improved to 16-0-2 at home this season and remained one point behind Chicago for the overall NHL lead. After giving up two early goals on broken plays, Hiller extended his franchise-record winning streak as the Ducks followed up their 11-1-1 December with their sixth consecutive win over the Oilers, who havent beaten Anaheim since April 2012. Even with little offensive help from superstars RyanGetzlaf and CoreyPerry, who have combined for just one goal in the last five games, the Ducks keep steamrolling along. "They werent going as good as they normally do, and when theyre not going, you need people to pick up the slack," Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau said. "You get help from everywhere. Thats why I think were a pretty good team." The Ducks have the NHLs second-longest points streak at home to open a season in the last quarter-century, trailing only San Joses 20-0-2 start five years ago. Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Authentic Font Long Sleeve NFL T-Shirt Dark Blue. Anaheim also won despite another awful effort by its power play, which went 0 for 8. The Ducks have just one man-advantage goal in the last 10 games, yet still rank third in the NHL in total goals. BoydGordon and NailYakupov scored in Edmontons fourth straight loss. Bryzgalov stopped 32 shots for the Oilers, who have lost 10 of 12 and are stuck at the bottom of the Western Conference. "We have been hanging around in games, but we always seem to find a way to blow a lead," Gordon said. "We cant sit around and hang our heads. We have to find a way to get the job done." The Oilers took the lead on their opening shift when Gordon flung a shot at the Ducks goal while getting checked facedown into the ice, and the puck deflected off Hillers stick 35 seconds in. Just 11 seconds later, Palmieri jumped on a turnover in the Edmonton crease and beat Bryzgalov. Edmonton capitalized on a mistake by Getzlaf, the Ducks captain, later in the period, with Yakupov getting goals in consecutive games for the first time all season. Lovejoy answered with his two goals, and Anaheim never trailed again. "Their second and third goals were almost identical," Edmonton coach DallasEakins said. "Same guy, same place. ... I thought we had pretty good coverage. We had five guys below the puck, but we were just a split-second late getting there." Jackman put the Ducks up 4-2 late in the second period, converting a pass from NickBonino in front. The workmanlike forward hadnt scored since joining Anaheim from Calgary in late November. Edmonton managed just eight shots in the final two periods. NOTES: Edmonton D BradHunt made his NHL debut, but the Oilers played without high-scoring RW JordanEberle, who apparently injured his knee a night earlier in San Jose. MarkArcobello and RyanJones also returned from lengthy injury absences. ... RALEIGH, N. Anthony Rizzo Cubs Jersey .C. -- Winless in shootouts this season, the Carolina Hurricanes werent optimistic when Fridays game against the Anaheim Ducks was tied after 65 minutes. But ChrisTerry helped the Hurricanes end their homestand successfully, scoring the game-winner in the shootout to lift Carolina to a 3-2 victory over the Ducks. With the win, Carolina improved to 3-10 in shootouts since the start of the 2011-12 season. "Obviously, the confidence wasnt very high going into shootouts," Carolinas JordanStaal said. "Theres a fine line in those shootouts -- things can go right and wrong pretty quickly. Were glad we got the upper hand tonight." EricStaal and DraysonBowman scored for Carolina in regulation while JustinPeters made 28 saves. Peters, who is filling in for the injured CamWard and AntonKhudobin, helped Carolina conclude a 4-0-1 homestand by making 138 saves on 144 shots in the five games. "Im just really proud of the effort of the guys," Carolina coach KirkMuller. "Weve had a couple injuries -- guys have jumped in different spots, different roles, starting with Peters in net. Hes had a great week, great homestand here." CoreyPerry had a goal and an assist for the Ducks while DustinPenner also scored. In his first game since being activated from injured reserve on Thursday, ViktorFasth stopped 21 shots. After a nine-game stretch in which they went 8-0-1, the Ducks have lost three in a row. Anaheim entered Friday leading the NHL with 31 points. "I think we played pretty well tonight," Anaheims TeemuSelanne said. "The last two games, we havent been at the level where we should be, so were going in the right direction." Perry and Carolinas RileyNash had scored earlier in the shootout, but Terry won it when he skated quickly at Fasth and made a move before going to his backhand for the goal. "Its a different kind of way to help the team, but nonetheless, we got the two points," Terry said. Earlier in the third period, Penner tied the score at 2 with a one-timer on the power play at 7:18. Penners stick broke on the play, but the puck managed to flutter into the net. The Ducks entered the game ranked 28th on the power play, having scored eight goals. Only two of those had come on the road. Carolina took a 2-1 lead 3:01 into the third period when Bowman collected the puck off the boards and charged the net, shovelling the puck past Fasth after he skated along the goal line. After the first 35 minutes had few scoring chances, Anaheim and Carolina both struck in the final five minutes of the second period. The Ducks opened the scoring when Carolinas JustinFaulk made an ill-advised pass through the middle of the ice from deep in his own zone. Anaheims RyanGetzlaf intercepted the puck and passed it to Perry, who snapped it past from Peters from close range at 18:00 of the second. Perry entered the night tied for sixth in the NHL with 11 goals. Carolina answered 1:43 later with a power-play goal. Semin skated across the blue line and created space by cutting across the middle of the zone. After delaying for an extra second, Semin sent a wrist shot that deflected off Staal and beat a screened Fasth high on the glove side. "We knew he fakes and fakes and fakes and fakes," said Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau, who coached Semin in Washington. "I think our young penalty killers bit too easily on him there. They hadnt seen him play before." NOTES: Getzlaf returned to the Ducks lineup after missing three games with an upper-body injury. ... MINNEAPOLIS -- After another strong start by DallasKeuchel and an impressive home run from GeorgeSpringer, it was DexterFowler who saved the game for the Houston Astros with a diving catch. wholesale jerseys . Keuchel didnt allow a run over six innings, Springer hit his 11th home run and the Astros held on to beat the Minnesota Twins 5-4 on Friday night. The Twins could have tied the game in the eighth inning if not for Fowlers spectacular, diving grab that robbed TrevorPlouffe of a leadoff extra-base hit. "That play by DexterFowler may have been the play of the game," Astros manager BoPorter said. "Thats a leadoff double, if not a triple, if he ends up diving and not getting the ball." MarwinGonzalez and MattDominguez also homered off PhilHughes (6-2), who lost for the first time in nine starts. The Astros have won six straight road games and 10 of their last 13 overall. Danny Santana hit his first career home run, a two-run shot in the seventh inning off reliever TonySipp as the Twins tried to rally late. After the start of the game was delayed 1 hour, 21 minutes by a storm that never arrived, Keuchel (7-3) struck out six and won for the fifth time in his last six starts. Springer drove a pitch from Hughes that was down and away and off the plate an estimated 402 feet to the opposite field in the sixth to give Houston a 5-0 lead. "That there is what you call power to all fields," Porter said with a big smile on his face. It was Springers first homer in June after he hit 10 in May and was selected the American League rookie of the month. Since May 11, Houston is 16-9 and on track to avoid 100-plus losses for the first time since 2010. Gonzalez pulled back on a drag bunt attempt in the third, then lined the next pitch over the wall in right field to give the Astros a 1-0 lead. Dominguez drove a high fastball from Hughes to straightaway centre in the fourth, hitting it just far enough to get it over the glove of a leaping AaronHicks. It was the first time Hughes allowed multiple homers since his first start of the season on April 3. Coming into the game, Hughes had allowed only four home runs all season and just one in his last 48 innings. "Just the mistakes over the plate really," Hughes said. "I didnt have my best fastball tonight and just wasnt making adjustments the way I had before." ChadQualls pitched around a two-out throwing error by Dominguez in the ninth to earn his seventh save in eight chances. EduardoEscobar had three hits including an RBI double that made it 5-4 with two outs in the eighth. Escobars double would have tied the game if Fowler didnt sprint over to the left-centre gap and rob Plouffe, sliding a long way on the grass after securing the catch. "When it was hit, I was like, I got to go a long way for that," Fowler said. "So I just put my head down and ran and I picked it up. The only way I could catch it was if I dive for it." OswaldoArcia, who homered in his previous two games but didnt start because of a sprained ankle, pinch-hit and flied out on the first pitch from lefty DarinDowns. But it was the Astros defence, including a diving play for the first out in the ninth by second baseman JoseAltuve that saved this one. "They made play after play," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We hit some balls pretty good and they kept making diving plays all over the place, which actually saved the ballgame for them because we put some decent swings out there and had plenty of chances." About 10 minutes before the first pitch, the Target Field grounds crew rolled out the infield tarp in anticipation of a storm that was approaching the area. It never rained during the delay, but light rain did fall in the early innings. NOTES: Leroy "Bud" Miller, a World War II veteran who was part of the landing force at Normandy Beach 70 years ago, raised the American flag before the game. ... Injured Astros SS JonathanVillar missed his third straight game after getting hit in the right elbow Tuesday. ... Plouffe hit his 22nd double in the fourth inning, tying a career high. ... Columbus has arrived at this point with a pair of overtime victories, including a 4-3 triumph in Wednesdays Game 4 clash at Nationwide Arena that gave the franchise its first home playoff win. cheap nfl jerseys . Westbrook had a triple-double in 21 minutes to win the matchup of talented point guards and help the Oklahoma City Thunder defeat the woeful Philadelphia 76ers 125-92 on Tuesday night. The United States Patent and Trademarks Office (USPTO) has today ordered that six Redskins trademark registrations be cancelled on the basis that they are "disparaging to Native Americans". Five Native Americans initiated the cancellation proceeding pursuant to the U.S. Trademarks Act, which "prohibits registration of marks that may disparage persons or bring them into contempt or disrepute."There has been some talk that the registrations have been cancelled, that the Redskins have lost all their trademark protection and that anyone can now go out and start selling Redskins merchandise without the permission of the team. All that is wrong. The trademark registrations have not been cancelled as of yet. The ruling was to cancel the registrations, but they remain in good standing, and will for some time. Challenging the decision will buy the Redskins time. The team will appeal the decision, and in the meantime, the trademark registrations will remain active. The Redskins can appeal the decision to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. They may also start a court action in District Court for the District of Columbia. They may also request reconsideration of the decision with the USPTO. Expect the Redskins to take its case to District Court since that will give them the opportunity to introduce new evidence. At the Court of Appeals level, they cant submit new evidence; rather the court is stuck with the record from the original hearing. On to the big issue: does the cancellation mean that the Redskins lose their trademark rights? The ruling to cancel the trademark registrations does NOT strip the team of its trademark rights or its ability to stop unauthorized parties froom using the Redskins marks. wholesale nfl jerseys. The Redskins have acquired what are called common law trademark rights. These are trademark rights that arise by virtue of the use of the mark in the marketplace. By "use", I mean things like jersey sales and the mark appearing in TV broadcasts and online. And heres the key: common law trademark rights are enforceable and the Redskins could rely on them to stop a third party from making unauthorized use of its marks. This means that the team does not need a trademark registration to stop someone from making unauthorized use of its marks. Common law rights can be relied upon to do just that. While there are important differences between registered and common law trademarks as far as scope of protection, the fame of the Redskins mark together with national sales and use place the Redskins in a good position to stop others from using their marks. So if some guy in Wisconsin starts selling product with the Redskins trademark on it without the permission of the team, he should expect to receive a cease and desist letter from the team, and failing his agreement to stop, he could face a lawsuit.Apart from trademarks, the Redskins could also sue for copyright infringement if someone makes unauthorized use of their logo or stylized word mark. The decision of the USPTO relates only to trademarks and has nothing to do with copyright. While the potential cancellation is not fatal to the ability of the Redskins to enforce their rights, this is yet another blow to the Redskins team name. The pressure on the team and league to change its name continues to mount with no end in sight. Indeed, the question may not be if the team changes its name, but when.wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

NEW ORLEANS -- TyrekeEvans scored a career-high 41 points to go with nine rebounds, eight assists and three steals, and the New Orleans Pelicans snapped an eight-game skid by shocking the playoff-bound Thunder 101-89 on Monday night. Kosuke Fukudome Authentic Jersey . Evans made 14 of 26 shots while scoring mostly on quick, powerful bursts to the hoop. He also scored 12 points at the foul line and made a 3 that put the Pelicans ahead 90-82 with 4:21 left. KevinDurant scored 25 for the Thunder, who have lost two straight and wont lock up the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs without at least one more win or a Los Angeles Clippers loss. With Oklahoma City having played in Indiana on Sunday, coach Scott Brooks chose to rest point guard RussellWestbrook, starting ReggieJackson in his place. Jackson, however, was not a factor on offence for much of the game, finishing with four points and three assists. Oklahoma could hardly complain about being short-handed, though. With all five early season starters and its best scorer off the bench out for the season, New Orleans one regular point guard was among 10 players in uniform. That was AustinRivers, who was ejected, along with the Thunders NickCollison, after the pair got into a scuffle with 7:56 left in the second quarter. Evans, normally a shooting guard, took over at point guard after that and went on to score 37 of his points. Luke Babbit scored 12 points, hitting a late 3 to help seal New Orleans first victory over the Thunder in 11 meetings, dating to Jan. 24, 2011. DariusMiller and AlexisAjinca each had 10 points SergeIbaka had 22 points and 16 rebounds for Oklahoma City. CaronButler added 19 points on 6 of 9 shooting, but after making six of his first seven shots, he did not score in the fourth quarter and his turnover led to Evans driving layup, which put New Orleans ahead by 10 with 2:16 to go. Durant was somewhat below his usual standard, missing 14 of his 23 shots and not reaching double figures in scoring until his driving floater with 4:35 left in the third quarter. Three nights earlier in Oklahoma City, the Thunder opened up a double-digit lead on reeling New Orleans in the first half and was up 25 after three quarters en route to a 116-94 victory. Back in the Big Easy, where the Pelicans are 21-19, the matchup was far more competitive. New Orleans held a slim lead most of the first quarter and the game got testy in the second, Rivers was angered by a prolonged screen Collison set on him. Rivers pushed his way out of the screen and soon after the two were shouting at each other as they followed the action to the Pelicans offensive end, where Rivers lunged at Collison. Minutes later, Oklahoma City led by as many as six on Butlers 3, but New Orleans closed the half with Morrows short jumper and Evans layup after hed intercepted ThaboSefoloshas pass, cutting Oklahomas lead to 46-45 at halftime. Notes: The loss prevented Oklahoma City from becoming the only NBA team with 60 wins in each of the past two seasons. ... The Thunder had won both previous meetings this season. The 22-year-old Perez got a deal Thursday that includes three club options through 2020. Perez was 10-6 in 20 starts this season, matching Oaklands DanStraily for the most wins by an American League rookie. After starting the season on the disabled list because he broke his left forearm in a spring training game, Perez was recalled on June 22 and got all of his wins. He was the first Texas rookie to win six consecutive starts and went nearly two months between losses. "Part of our long-term plan is to identify the best talent and best makeup guys, best workers that we have in the organization, and try to make sure to keep that core together as long as possible," general manager Jon Daniels said. "This is a really mutually beneficial deal in our minds. Martin gets security and a lot of money for a young man his age early in his career, and we get cost control and hopefully the comfort knowing that weve got a young quality, high-side left-hander in our rotation for years to come." Perez originally signed with the Rangers as a 16-year-old undrafted free agent from Venezuela. Perez got a $1 million signing bonus. His 2014 salary will be $750,000, then increase to $1 million, $2.9 million and $4.4 million over the successive seasons. The Rangers have a $6 million option for 2018 with a $2.45 million buyout. If Texas exerciises that it gets a $7. Fergie Jenkins Authentic Jersey. .5 million option for 2019 with a $750,000 buyout. And if thats exercised, the Rangers get a $9 million option for 2020 with a $250,000 buyout. "I can focus and play baseball and learn something new every day to be a better pitcher, and a better person. Thats what I want," Perez said. "My future is here." Daniels said the Rangers have seen continued growth in Perez as a pitcher and person. The young pitcher also impressed Daniels during discussions about the new deal, when Perez unprompted said the money wouldnt change him and that hed work even harder. He also talked about long-term goals. "From a management standpoint, thats all you can ask," Daniels said. Rangers ace YuDarvish, along with left-handers MattHarrison and DerekHolland are also signed through at least 2017. Like Perez, Harrison and Holland have options for additional years. AlexiOgando, another starter, is eligible for salary arbitration this winter but is still under club control for three more seasons. Daniels expects a conversation with Ogando about a one-year deal. "To have four guys of that calibre and plus with Alexi, to have that talent in that rotation, thats an unusual position to be in for any franchise, especially us," Daniels said. "Its a good feeling. ... Things happen, there are no guarantees. But Ill take my chances to have that kind of ability and makeup and youth thats already had success pitching at the big league level." ------ AP Sports Writer Ronald Blum contributed to this report. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys' ' ' |

BARCELONA, Spain -- Atletico Madrids turnaround under new coach Diego Simeone was highlighted by a first away victory in the Spanish league with a 4-0 rout of Real Sociedad thanks to Radamel Falcaos hat trick on Saturday. Greg Maddux Jersey . Atletico, unbeaten in three games under Simeone, caught a lacklustre Sociedad flatfooted in the opening moments of both halves to go up 2-0 as rain fell steadily on Anoeta Stadium. Falcao stroked home a spot kick to give the visitors the lead just three minutes in following Vadim Demidovs booking for a handball inside the area, and strike partner Adrian Lopez volleyed in his own rebound after Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo blocked his header in the 47th. Falcao then caught Bravo off his line with an exquisite chip shot from outside the area in the 83rd, and the former Porto star sealed Sociedads first loss in eight league fixtures with a goal in stoppage time by slicing in a pass from substitute Koke Resurreccion. "(Falcao) is very good at shaking his marker," Simeone said. "He adapts to any situation." The Colombia striker, who leads Atletico with 14 goals in league play this season, also scored twice in last weeks 3-0 win over Villarreal. Simeone, who as a midfielder helped Atletico win its last league title in 1996, thanked all of his players for their effort, saying they "put the team first." Under former coach Gregorio Manzano, Atletico had a record of one draw and six losses away from home in league play to start the season. Atletico has collected seven of nine possible points since Simeones arrival and sits just four points out of fourth place, the last spot that earns Champions League qualification. "There is no special explanation needed to explain what happened," Sociedad coach Philippe Montanier said. "Atletico was simply better." Elsewhere, Espanyol overcame a depleted front line to defeat Granada 3-0 at home, while 10-man Sevilla drew 1-1 at Real Betis in the first Seville derby in nearly three years. With injured strikers Sergio Garcia and Alvaro Vazquez unavailable, Mauricio Pochettino turned to his midfield to produce goals. Raul Baena put Espanyol in front with a header in the 26th and playmaker Joan Verdu added a second from the penalty spot after Vladimir Weiss was fouled by Allan Nyom just before halftime. Substitute Rui Fonte capped the victory with a goal in the 80th by tapping in a free kick by Ndri Romaric that had come off the crossbar. Espanyols fifth game without a loss lifted it into fifth place in the standings. Before the match Espanyol unveiled a statue of Dani Jarque, the former captain who died of a heart attack in 2009, at Cornella-El Prat Stadium. "The match may have looked like a walk in the park but it was far from it," Pochettino said. "Today was special for us to pay tribute to our eternal captain." At Benito Villamarin Stadium, Benat Etxebarria scored Betis 26th-minute opener when he curled a free kick over the defensive wall and away from a diving Javi Varas into the left corner of the net. Sevilla scored a deserved equalizer through Alvaro Negredos header in the 41st, but Marcelino Garcias team could not avoid extending its winless run to five consecutive games after Federico Fazio was sent off with his second yellow card in the 69th. Also, Getafe dealt Racing Santander its first loss in six weeks since the exit of coach Hector Cuper with a 2-1 comeback win secured by Nicolas "Miku" Fedor in the 83rd minute. League leader Real Madrid hosts the in-form Athletic Bilbao on Sunday before second-place Barcelona visits Malaga. Barcelona then hosts Madrid on Wednesday in the second leg of their Copa del Rey quarterfinal after winning the away leg 2-1. Also on Sunday, its: Osasuna vs. Valencia; Rayo Vallecano vs. Mallorca; and Levante vs. Zaragoza. Sporting Gijon is at Villarreal on Monday in a matchup of teams looking to escape the relegation zone. Andrelton Simmons Jersey . Fifth-seeded Cilic gained his fourth title in Zagreb and became the third Croat overall to win at least 10 career titles. Cilic also lifted his career record in Zagreb to 22-4, winning 20 of his last 21 matches at the event. Julio Teheran Authentic Jersey . Atletico built a provisional three-point advantage over Barcelona before the defending champion hosts Elche on Sunday. Barcelona then visits Atletico in the following round. "We will have to wait and see if Barcelona wins tomorrow to stay leader, as it is accustomed to doing," Atletico coach Diego Simeone said. The Calder Memorial Trophy is the award given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition. This years candidates are Bostons Zdeno Chara, Duncan Keith of the Blackhawks and the Nashville Predators Shea Weber. To determine the winner of the Norris Trophy, we will hold a hardest shot competition between the finalists:The Vezina Trophy is aawarded to the best goaltender of the NHL season. Justin Upton Braves Jersey. This years nominees are Ben Bishop of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins and Semyon Varlamov of the Colorado Avalanche.Lets all pray Rask wins, because we know how much he hates losing...And finally, the Hart Memorial Trophy is the annual award given to the most valuable player to his team. This years finalists for the award are Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks, Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers and Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Of course, our savior Sid the Kid will take home the award, but I would quickly enjoy entertaining the idea of it being a competition.Heres a throwback of our friend Cabbie having a little fun with Crosby!Roll out the red carpet and get ready for a night of glamour, as the awards will be presented with the help of current and former NHLers, as well as celebrity hockey fans. We hope you enjoy the show! wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens. Reids playoff experienc
TORONTO - Matt Ware wasnt ready to call it a career just yet. Nike Roshe Run Femme . For two years Ware worked as a personal trainer in California, waiting for another chance to play pro football. There were workouts and discussions with other clubs after being released by the NFLs Arizona Cardinals prior to the 2011 season, but nothing concrete materialized. That is until January, when the Toronto Argonauts came calling. So instead of pursuing a job as a firefighter as planned, the 31-year-old is trying to kick-start his pro career in the CFL. "I came here because I felt I had unfinished business," Ware said following Thursdays practice at York University. "I still have a love for the game and felt like I left (NFL) on bad terms. "I still want to play." The six-foot-three, 218-pound Ware played seven NFL seasons with Philadelphia and Arizona. He spent two years with the Eagles, who selected the former UCLA star in the third round, 89th overall, in the 04 draft, before joining the Cardinals. Ware played 95 career NFL games, his three starts all coming with Arizona. He recorded 115 tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery while playing in two Super Bowls (04 with Philadelphia, 08 with Arizona). But Ware wavered about wanting to return to the NFL. "Its all in the Lords hands," he said. "If I come up here and do a great job, whos to say I wouldnt just stay here? "Im grateful for the opportunity to be an Argo." Ware was a two-sport athlete at UCLA and played two seasons of minor-league baseball with the Seattle Mariners organization. Ware, a married father of two young daughters, played safety in the NFL but is working at cornerback with Toronto. A revamped Argos defence only cornerback Jalil Carter remains from the 12 Grey Cup-winning unit has a definite need at corner with all-star Pat Watkins signing with the Edmonton Eskimos as a free agent. Not only must Ware adjust to a new position but also a new team playing a different game with unlimited motion and an extra man on a longer, wider field. But first-year defensive co-ordinator Tim Burke said Thursday, so far so good. "Hes done really well," Burke said of Ware. "Hes a smart guy, he understands how to learn and be a professional. "Rookies are up and down . . . I think having a guy like Matt is great for our defence." Argos head coach Scott Milanovich is also impressed with Wares veteran savvy. "He strikes me as a very mature, veteran player who understands about preparation and all the little things we build our foundation on," Milanovich said. "Physically, hes a big, strong man who has good enough hips to play corner. "Hes a little bit like the guy we had last year (Watkins) but different styles. Hes doing a nice job for us." And Ware is having fun making the transition to the wide-open, pass-happy Canadian game. "There are so many moving parts," he said. "It just keeps you really in tune with the game. "Sometimes in the NFL you can go out there and just have your guy and it gets a little monotonous even though its a great challenge." Ware said a ringing endorsement of Toronto and the Argos from good friend Tyler Ebell a former CFL running back with Edmonton, the Double Blue, B.C and Hamilton certainly didnt hurt his decision-making process. "He told me about his experiences here and how much he loved it," Ware said. "So Im just excited to be here playing ball." A huge advantage Ware has over other CFL rookies is his pro experience. When everything seems to be happening all at once on the field, Ware has a solid knowledge base to fall back on. "Its still football," he said. "No matter how the formation comes together or if six guys are all moving at once, its still football. "You really have to stick to your technique and keys, what the coaches told you to do because if you start looking at too much then youre going to mess yourself up. If youre in man to man youve got to work your feet, look at the hips and guard your guy. If you have zone coverage, you need to see the big picture." And with CFL players participating in a ratification vote Thursday, Ware certainly understands the business side of the game. He was still with Phoenix during the last NFL lockout, which lasted from March 12 to July 25, 2011. But hes purposely not spoken to his new teammates about it. "The only thing I can do is handle what I can on the field," Ware said. "It was a different situation, ours was a lockout. "We had to prepare for that and we were prepared for it with our PA." But Ware certainly learned from that experience. "I saved my money, I worked out and was ready when they told me to be on the field," he said. air jordan 11 retro pas cher . - The Atlanta Falcons have signed former offensive lineman GabeCarimi.Nike Air Max 2013 Pas Cher . Numbers Game examines the deal that sees MartinSt.Louis and RyanCallahan swapping places. The Rangers Get: RW MartinSt.(SportsNetwork.com) - In todays NFL, heating up in December generally means things go pretty well in January. Theaction can be seen on CTV at 4:30pm et/1:30pm pt. The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to turn that kind of thinking on its head by doing something they have never done before, beat the Indianapolis Colts in the postseason. The AFC South champion Colts come in hot, having won three straight in which they allowed a total of 20 points, a span that included an impressive 23-7 triumph at Kansas City back on Dec. 22. "I think if you check the last six Super Bowl winners, they got hot at the right time," Indianapolis defensive end RobertMathis, a serious Defensive Player of the Year candidate, said. "Thats what its all about, getting hot at the right time." The Chiefs, on the other hand, have limped into the postseason by losing two in a row and stumbling to a 2-5 finish after their impressive 9-0 start. Kansas City, though, completed the regular season with an 11-5 record a year after compiling a dismal 2-14 mark, the greatest single-season turnaround in franchise history thanks in large part to a new head coach and quarterback combo, Andy Reid and AlexSmith. "Its the start of a new season. Thats how the playoffs work," Reid said. "Youre in the dance, as they say. Its another phase of the season. Youve worked very hard as a team to get into this position. Now its important that you make sure you get it right." Part of the problem for the Chiefs in the latter half of the year was health, particularly on defense. During its 9-0 burst out of the blocks, Kansas Citys "D" allowed just 12.3 points per game compared to the 27.7 ppg it allowed in the past seven. Linebacker JustinHouston was the lynchpin of that early run, amassing 11 sacks in 10 games before going down with a dislocated elbow. "Its very tough knowing that if you were out there, you can make a difference," said Houston, who is expected back this weekend. Reid also chose to rest the majority of his starters in Kansas Citys disputed season-ending 27-24 overtime loss in San Diego last week. Whether that helped or not remains to be seen but the Chiefs expect to also have wide receiver DwayneBowe (concussion) and left tackle Braden Albert (hyperextended knee) back in the lineup as they attempt to halt an ugly seven-game playoff skid. Signs also point to Houstons running mate at linebacker, TambaHali (knee) playing, while right tackle EricFisher, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 draft, could be sidelined with a groin problem. "Obviously, guys are going to be feeling pretty fresh, so thats a good thing," Smith said when taking about the extra rest he and some of his teammates got. "It will really help us as far as the week goes, having a great week of preparation." The Colts ended things in the regular season with a rather easy 30-10 home win over Jacksonville as star quarterback AndrewLuck completed his sophomore campaign on a up note, completing 26-of-37 passes for 282 yards and a touchdown. Luck tossed 23 TD passes for the second straight year and really improved his decision-making, throwing only nine interceptions after being well into double-digits during his rookie campaign. He also finished the regular season with 8,196 career passing yards, the first player in NFL history to crack the 8,000-barrier in just two seasons. Kansas City, the AFCs fifth-seed, has faced No. 4 Indianapolis on three prior occasions in the playoffs (1996, 2004 and 2007) with the Colts coming out on top each time: a 10-7 victory at Arrowhead Stadium in a 1995 AFC Divisional Playoff Game (Jan. 7, 1996), a 38-31 win at Arrowhead in a 2003 AFC Divisional Playoff Game (Jan. 11, 2004), and a 23-8 victory at the RCA Dome in a 2006 AFC Wild Card Game (Jan. 6, 2007). Since the AFL-NFL merger, Kansas City and Indianapolis have squared off 23 times overall, with the Colts holding a 15-8 advantage. WHAT TO WATCH FOR The Chiefs are one of the most talented teams in football as evidenced by the fact that eight members of Kansas Citys roster were named to the 2014 Pro Bowl, tying San Francisco for the highest amount of players from a single roster in the NFL. The Chiefs have excelled at times in all three phases this season. Smith pilots an offense that is keen on taking care of the football while the defense has been extremely opportunistic. Kansas Citys plus-18 turnover differential (36 takeaways and only 18 giveaways) leads the NFL. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have outscored opponents by an impressive 430-305 margin and led the league in return touchdowns with 11. The special teams have also been special. K.C. is tops in average starting field position, beginning at the 33.4 yard line and also ranked first in average opponent starting field position at the 23.2 yard line. A major reason for that is the fact that the Chiefs kick return team set a new NFL record by averaging 29.. Basket Nike Air Max 95 Pas Cher. 9 yards per return. The Colts, though, figure to come in with the confidence of a home team and the knowledge they already handled the Chiefs pretty easily in Arrowhead, a difficult environment to play in. Luck, who is 2-0 against Kansas City, finished 26-of-37 for 241 yards in the meeting back on Dec. 22 while Smith was 16-for-28 for just 153 yards and an interception. "Its tough right now," Smith said after that game. "I didnt think that we played very well in any facet of the game, certainly not good enough especially on offense. We didnt have the production and with the turnovers, you make it about impossible to win. Were going to have to learn from it." Neither team is apt to give anything away. Indianapolis has an NFL-low 14 turnovers on the season while the Chiefs are next at 18 and that entire difference came at the hands of Indy two weeks ago "Thats a challenge I think both ways - both offensively and defensively," Reid said. "(The Colts are) efficient with the ball, they dont have a lot of penalties that are called against them and they dont turn the ball over much. Thats this time of the year, youve got to eliminate mistakes." Smith is usually the definition of a signal caller who doesnt shoot himself in the foot. Since 2011, he is 30-9-1 as an NFL starter and hes 6-1 as the Chiefs leader on the road this season, throwing 11 TDs in those games compared to just one pick with a solid 94.6 passer rating. The Indianapolis defense, led by Mathis, who won the NFLs inaugural Deacon Jones Award with 19 1/2 sacks, has been humming recently, forcing eight turnovers in the current winning streak while allowing just nine third-down conversions in 37 attempts. "We finished December strong," defensive lineman CoryRedding understated. The Colts will certainly be keying on Kansas City running back JamaalCharles, who makes the Chiefs offense go. Charles led the AFC in rushing for the second consecutive season, has an NFL-best 19 total TDs, and averaged 132 scrimmage yards per game in 2013, best in the conference. "As a coordinator and as a staff, offensively, every week we say, Ok, how can we get 25 (Charles) the football? Whether it be from the backfield, empty it, motion, how can we do that," Kansas City offensive chief DougPederson said. "He is an explosive player, we know that, everybody knows that and we understand that people and defenses are going try to take him away and target him so we have to be creative with him and continue to find ways to get him the football in space." For Indy much has been made about all the upheaval and the lack of continuity on the offensive line but Luck has only been sacked three times in his last 152 pass attempts despite eight different starters playing over that time frame, a testament to the Stanford products quick release and understanding of the offense. "Hes a really good football player," Chiefs defensive coordinator Bob Sutton said when asked about Luck. "Hes a very talented guy, theres not a throw he cant make. I think the thing that impresses everybody is when you play him; hes a big man that can run. Hes a lot faster than people realize. He can run, and I think hes done a tremendous job." The K.C. defense is spearheaded by the pass rush of Houston and Hali, who both finished with 11 sacks this season, along with the playmaking ability of safety EricBerry on the back end. "I dont know how much it changes (what we do offensively), but certainly we know that both of those guys have 11 sacks apiece," Indianapolis coach Chuck Pagano said. "With Tamba (Hali) on one side and Justin (Houston) on the other, its a great duo ... our tackles have played well, for the most part, all season so it will be a huge challenge for both of those guys (AnthonyCastonzo and GosderCherilus) and to get those guys blocked." OVERALL ANALYSIS Something has to give here as the two teams come in with a combined 10 straight postseason losses. The Chiefs havent tasted victory in the playoffs since a road win in the 1993 AFC Divisional round with a 28-20 victory at Houston on Jan. 16, 1994. Indianapolis, conversely, has dropped three consecutive in the postseason after last seasons 24-9 wild-card loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens. Reids playoff experience could be the difference here. While Indy is in the postseason for the 11th time in 12 seasons, this is only Paganos and Lucks second time on the big stage. Conversely this will be Reids 20th postseason game as a head coach. "We want to win," Houston said. "Everybody knows its playoff time. Win or go home. Everybodys mindset is we are not ready to go home. As long as we keep practicing the way we are practicing and everybody is putting in extra work in the film room, we are going to be alright." TORONTO - After auditioning roughly 60 prospects, including nine Canadians, in 11 sessions spanning over nine workout days this spring, the Toronto Raptors are putting the finishing touches on their wish list heading into Thursdays NBA Draft. Daniel Murphy Jersey . For most of the last week, Masai Ujiri and his scouting staff have been mulling over 10 targets they anticipate will be available with the 20th overall pick, their first of three selections, hoping to narrow that list down to five by Tuesday. With three days to go, does he have someone in mind? "Hes around like the back here," said the former scout, gesturing to the back of his head just before the Raptors concluded their final pre-draft workout Monday afternoon. "But he hasnt made it to the front yet. Hes working his way." No, Ujiri wont tip his hand, not with somany variables at play. Fourteen teams occupy the 19 slots that precede the Raptors and will determine who is available to them. They have a list of about 13 players that are expected to be off the board by the time Toronto is on the clock. The pick will be Ujiris first as Torontos primary decision maker - the Raptors did not have a selection in last years draft - and should immediately put his keen eye for talent to the test. Since Ujiri took control of the Raptors, a franchise that has mostly been accustomed to selecting in the lottery, he has emphasized the importance of drafting well regardless of where youre situated in both the first and second rounds. For only the third time in franchise history, and first in 12 years, the Raptors are positioned outside the top 19 in the drafts opening round. Although its not an advantageous spot to find cant miss, NBA-ready talent, history has shown it can be done. In 2000, with the 20th overall pick - the teams lowest ever first-round selection - they found one of their best and most reliable contributors in long-time Raptor MorrisPeterson. In 2011, then with the Nuggets, Ujiri used the 22nd pick to snag emerging forward KennethFaried. As Ujiri knows, the key is preparation aided by a little bit of luck and the subsequent development that is required to turn a late first-round pick into an impact player at the games highest level. "Its a huge bonus," Ujiri said of finding a diamond in the rough on draft night. "You look at the programs that have done well in the NBA, they just strike with picks like that. Its takes constant study, and really knowing players, believing in players and a system." "I think a big thing is you kind of have to be realistic on the expectations of the players," added Dan Tolzman, Torontos director of scouting, who was also a member of Ujiris front office staff in Denver. "I think everyone wants to find those diamonds and the guys that will be all-stars and MVPs and this and that but those guys are pretty hard to find outside of the lottery and the top-five even." "So I think the idea is if you can find guys at 20 or 37 or wherever that have careers," he continued, "that are eight-year players and theyre role players on your team and theyre doing good things to help you win, thats a successful draft pick. You might get lucky and hit a guy thats going to be a big time contributor and hes pushing for all-stars and that kind of thing, but thats not really what youre looking for when youre outside of the top-five or the top-10." Over the last four weeks, the Raptors brass have seen around a dozen players that figure to be selected in the latter half of the first round, or early in the second. According to team sources, there are roughly five prospects of interest that were either unable or unwilling to come in for a workout. While the workouts are not the be all and end all - the team has scouted them all in live action - they can go a long way in getting the coaching staff and trainers on board with a potential pick. Should a player fall to them unexpectedly, Ujiri will keep his options open and hasnt ruled out the possibility of trading up, if the price is right. Still, the focus is on making their make at 20. "Those trades and talks, people dont understand," said the Raptors GM. "We talk about like maybe 100 trades and then two happen. Thats the nature of our business. We will be aggressive but our energy is focused on 20, rather than wasting our time on [something else]." In addition to their first-round pick, the Raptors also own a pair of second rounders, 37 and 59 - the second to last pick in the draft. Regardless of whether or not theyre able to address their needs in the draft, Ujiri has prioritized his offseason to-do list. "We need a big wing at the three position," he said. "We [also] need some kind of shot blocking big. We have good, skilled bigs, we have a shooting big, we have a big down low, but we want to figure out how we can protect the rim a little bit. That may come now, it may come later but its something we know we need on our roster. So those two positions look like something we need." His top priority has not changed. "Were going full force after KyleLowry," Ujiri said, speaking of the teamscoveted free agent point guard. "And if theres a talented point guard in the draft we know that its going to be tough to come and contribute to where our team is off the bat, but well go for talent in the draft. But KyleLowry is our target and well try to get that done." In just over a week, the Raptors - and other teams for that matter - can begin negotiating with Lowry, unable to officially sign him or announce a deal until the moratorium period ends on July 10. Until then the focus will be on the draft, one of the mostchaotic events on the basketball calendar and an invaluable opportunity to add young talent, provided youre well prepared for it. The Raptors have done their homework. "I was walking into the conference room where our guys were meeting and I was like okay, no news that will throw me off right now," Ujiri joked. "Because you know its going to keep coming. There will be something tonight and something else tomorrow morning. Thats just the nature of the draft. I heard something yesterday that threw us off a little bit. But it will keep coming and coming and coming until that last minute. Thats the joy of it, I mean you love it. Thats why we do it. There is always action. As long as we come out on top, then were fine." Nolan Ryan Mets Jersey . Louis Cardinals had a major need at shortstop and signed a veteran free agent who, while having PED issues, has been a potent hitter throughout his career. Daniel Murphy Mets Jersey . Doneil Henry, the man who scored Toronto FCs last-gasp game winner Saturday, knows that probably better than anyone.NEW YORK -- The scoreboard showed that the Boston Bruins were only even with the New York Rangers after the first period. In reality, TuukkaRask had already won the game for the Atlantic Division leaders. Rask made 19 saves in a one-sided opening period, and defenceman DougieHamilton had a goal and two assists to lift the Bruins to a 6-3 victory over the Rangers on Sunday night. New York jumped ahead 14-1 in shots and took a 1-0 lead it couldnt hold. The Bruins skated off in a tie despite being badly outshot. "We were stuck in quicksand. We didnt do anything there, just gave them all kinds of chances," Rask said. "Then we finally got that goal, got some life, and the last eight minutes in the first we played good. "Youre outshot 20-9 and its 1-1 so youre somewhat relieved. We got better and got the lead and never gave it up." Rask finished with 39 saves. He outdueled New Yorks HenrikLundqvist, who stopped 27 shots on his 32nd birthday but lost for the second straight day. Lundqvist allowed a season-high tying six goals. "Painful. Extremely painful," Lundqvist said. "I thought we played pretty good. They worked hard, but their goals were unbelievable with the bounces they got -- a couple of deflections and a post and in." The Bruins improved to 9-2-3 in their last 14 games and earned their first season-sweep of New York in 31 years. Rask made 43 saves in a 2-1 win over the Rangers on Nov. 19 in Bostons previous visit to Madison Square Garden. "I thought we started to get a little bit better in the second half of the first (period)," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "We slowly got ourselves back in the game, but were much better in the second and the third. "We got mad enough after the first 10 minutes that we reacted to doing something. That was huge. We just needed to get over that hump. Once we scored that first goal, it just seemed like everybody relaxed and we got better." The Rangers fell one point behind second-place Philadelphia -- which beat New York 4-2 on Saturday. They lead fourth-place Washington by one point in the Metropolitan Division. All three teams have 20 games remaining. Lundqvist has allowed nine goals in two games since returning from the Olympics. "I dont think that was a game that dictated the score," said Rangers captain RyanCallahan, who could be traded before New Yorks next game on Wednesday. "I thought we had some good minutes." Boston, which didnt have a power play, increased its lead to 5-2 in the third period on a pair of goals by GregoryCampbell -- first short-handed at 9:04 and then at even strength with 6:34 left. Mets Jersey. MilanLucic finished the scoring with 1:36 remaining. The Bruins have received an NHL-low 176 power plays this season. "They couldve mixed one in, but it seems to go the other way for us all the time," Rask said. JaromeIginla scored in the first period, and Hamilton and CarlSoderberg connected in the second with assists from Hamilton. Boston won all three games from the Rangers for the first time since the 1982-83 season. J.T.Miller made it 1-0 just 3:20 in with a short-handed goal. BradRichards tallied in the second, and RyanMcDonaghs power-play goal made it 5-3 with 4:42 left for the Rangers. Iginla began to change momentum when he scored with 1:53 left in the first. "They played yesterday, too, and it shouldve been a pretty even start," Rask said of the Rangers. "We just werent ready. We werent skating and it was pretty ugly there. I was a little surprised." The Bruins came out for the second re-energized. Unlike New York, however, Boston capitalized on two early chances and surged ahead 3-1 just 9:34 in. Iginla helped pushed Boston in front when he freed a puck from the left-wing boards. The puck found its way to Hamilton, who scored his seventh at 4:04. Soderberg stretched the lead to 3-1 just 5:30 later when he gathered the rebound of LouiErikssons hard shot, shifted the puck from backhand to forehand and scored his 10th goal. Hamilton earned his second assist of the night. The Rangers got back within a goal when Richards got a puck past Rask with 3:07 left. Richards patiently stopped at the blue line and stayed onside while awaiting a pass from Callahan. Richards took the puck into the right circle and snapped a drive that sailed wide past Rask and into the open left side for his 16th goal. Boston held a 14-12 edge in shots in the second, but again found a way to make the most of them. "Its a great win when you score six goals on a good goalie like that," Rask said. New York grabbed a 1-0 lead when Miller converted a turnover at the blue line into a breakaway for his third goal of the season on the Rangers third shot. Rask then stopped the next 17 in the period -- including difficult chances in close by Callahan and ChrisKreider. NOTES: The Bruins, who lost to Washington on Saturday, are 8-2 in the second game of back-to-backs. ... Hamilton had three career two-point games, none this season. ... Rangers RW DerekDorsett was scratched one day after returning to the lineup following an 18-game absence caused by a broken leg. DominicMoore took his place. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. Daniel Murphy Mets Jersey . - Maria Sharapova was happy to play an 11 a.m. match Monday, especially when her work day was already done by the time a mid-afternoon shower interrupted play. "Its nice to see all the players coming back in the locker room, and Im like, Ill see you later," she said. Sharapova started early but didnt start well. She won only five points in the first four games before settling down to reach the quarterfinals at the Sony Open by beating Kirsten Flipkens 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. The worlds top-ranked players had an easier time. Serena Williams eliminated fellow American CoCo Vandeweghe 6-3, 6-1. Rafael Nadal received a warning for slow play and still won in 59 minutes against Denis Istomin, 6-1, 6-0. Venus Williams lost her serve eight times and was beaten by No. 10 Dominika Cibulkova 6-1, 5-7, 6-3. Sharapova, meanwhile, endured her second successive ragged three-setter and found herself trailing 4-0 after only 15 minutes. "I usually like playing the first match, but I didnt start off the way I wanted to," she said. "Nothing was working." Seeded No. 4, Sharapova seemed thrown off by the lack of pace from Flipkens, a tour veteran who hits floating backhands and sometimes slices her forehand as well. "Shes a different type of opponent," Sharapova said. "There are not too many girls that hit a slice backhand 90 per cent of the time in the rallies. But I know what to expect from her game. It shouldnt be that much of a surprise." Sharapova finished with 36 unforced errors and only 13 winners. She also double-faulted 10 times. But she won and was ready to leave Crandon Park before most matches had even begun. With the rest of the day free, what was on the schedule for one of the worlds most celebrated athletes? "Not much, actually," Sharapova said. "I like to have my afternoon tea around 5. Its like a Russian tradition. Ill see my dog, spend some time with him, then get treatment, dinner, and then the day is over." At the top of her to-do list for the rest of the week is winning her first Key Biscayne title. Sharapova has been the runner-up five times, including each of the past three years, but she downplays any frustration regarding her many near-misses. "Of course you want to be able to hold the winners trophy," she said. "But you also remember the matches that you got through to get in the position to get to the final stage. Its not like I didnt have my opportunities in those finals; I just didnt take them. Thats why you come back and hope for another chance." Williams seems to be gaining momentum as the tournament unfolds, as usual. She overcame sloppy patches in her first two matches and committed only one unforced error in the second set against Vandeweghe. But Williams was impressed with the 22-year-old American, and told her so when they met at the net after the match. "She said, Listen, you played so well. Weve got to play doubles. Wed do so well," Vandeweghe said. Williams next plays No. 5-seeded Angelique Kerber, who beat Ekaterina Makarova 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. No. 8 Petra Kvitova rallied past No. 12 Ana Ivanovic, who double-faulted nine times in the final two sets and lost 3-6, 6-0, 6-0. In mens third-round play, No. 10 seed John Isner, the only American to reach the mens third round, hit 17 aces and beat Nicolas Almagro 7-5, 6-3. No. 22-seeded Alexandr Dolgopolov rallied from a break down in the final set to beat Dusan Lajovic 3-6, 6-0, 7-6 (5). Dolgopolov has gone 6-1 this month despite his worries about unrest in his native Ukraine, where his mother and other relatives still live. "For me it was important it has calmed down and no people are dying," said Dolgopolov, who was born in Kyiv. "But theres a little bit of chaos still going on, and no one knows who is the ruling party and who is controlling the country. Its a mess." Chris Young Authentic Jersey . The Stars were up 3-1 in the third. Stars and Jets will meet at the MTS Centre Sunday night (TSN Jets, TSN 1290) in what is a must win for the Jets. The Jets and Stars will meet in Dallas later this month, the Stars have two games in hand. Ike Davis Authentic Jersey . -- PeytonManning will have all of his wide receivers available for the first time in a month when the Denver Broncos begin their playoff run Jan.Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca! Kerry, I would like your opinion on the JoePavelski shootout goal. It appears that Pavelski comes to a stop, waits and then shoots. Should this goal have counted in the shootout? Unapologetic Ducks fan. Kerry, On Saturday night during the shootout, San Joses JoePavelski appeared to come to a complete stop while moving towards JonasHiller. Immediately after stopping he shot the puck and scored the only goal (for either team) during the shootout. I thought that the rules were that both the puck and the shooter had to keep up uninterrupted forward momentum for the goal to count? A little clarification would be great because Id hate to think that yet another game this season was decided by a refs blown call, there have been FAR too many of those already. Love the column, thanks for helping further everyones education and knowledge about the game that we all love. Greg Lykes Greg and our Unapologetic Ducks fan, Welcome to another shootout "razzle-dazzle" which should be redefined in the rule book as an NHL skills competition where anything goes. Its about time to change the wording in rule 24 to include, "any move that resembles a skilled hockey play." The lacrosse-like whip and spin-o-rama are approved for use as skilled moves and both involve continuous motion. It might be argued that JoePavelski maintained a semblance of forward motion when he slammed on the brakes resulting in a forward slide and then immediately turned his blades from that sliding stop to a continuation of his glide momentum towards JonasHiller. There was also an ever so slight forward rotation of the puck only detected by video replay as Pavelski exeecuted a stickhandle move in conjunction with his sliding stop. Zack Wheeler Mets Jersey. Pavelskis stick motion, from back to front, throughout this stickhandle maneuver is deemed legal puck possession as he teed the puck up for a shot. All this allows the execution of Pavelskis shootout move to be deemed "legal" by a technicality. Rule 24.2 presently reads, "However, should the puck come to a complete stop at any time during the shot attempt, the shot shall be stopped and no goal will be the result." To the naked eye in real-time, it appears that both the puck and Pavelski came to a complete stop. Slow-motion video review can provide a different picture; especially if the viewer desires all of these "hockey plays" to be deemed legal. My take is that an attacker is given a distinct and unfair advantage over the goalkeeper on most of these "stop and go" type maneuvers. While it might be entertaining for fans during an All-Star Game Skills Competition where there is little on the line except bragging rights, a regular season shootout is worth a point in the standings. Shootout wins can make a huge difference in the final standings for playoffs. The integrity of the final standings is being compromised by circumventing the spirit of Rule 24 through unfair advantages shooters are being given over the goalkeepers. Short of a rule change, the referees should be empowered to kill the play whenever they determine (with their naked eye) that the puck has not been kept in motion towards the goal as the current rule states. It would take a large measure of courage on the part of the refs to make that call, in addition to support offered from a Hockey Operations Dept. that has set the existing standard. Dont expect a change anytime soon unless the goalkeeper fraternity revolts en masse. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

Nick Moore, one of the top free agents on the market, has signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Nike Roshe Run Femme Pas Cher . Moores contract is for two years and he will make up to $185,000 per season, according to TSNs Farhan Lalji. The slotbackwas at one point thought to be heading to the NFL after a breakout year with the BC Lions. "Nick proved his worth as one of the best receivers in our league last season," said general manager Kyle Walters. "He will be a great addition to our offence, and we are very excited to bring him on board." Moore had 73 catches for 1,105 yards and six touchdowns with the Leos last season. Over his career the 27-year-old has 110 catches for 1,554 yards and nine scores. "This is a big move for our offence, as not only a veteran presence, but an immediate playmaker who can help groom some of our rookie receivers," head coach Mike OShea said. "Nick was someone our offensive staff really wanted, and Im thrilled we were able to bring him in." The Blue Bombers also signed receiver Rory Kohlert earlier in the day. Kohlert spent the past two seasons in Winnipeg and returned after briefly having his rights owned by the Ottawa Redblacks, who selected him in the Expansion Draft. Nike Air Max 90 Camo France . LOUIS -- MichaelWacha wasted no energy pondering the weather. The St. Louis Cardinals pitcher concentrated on shutting down the opposition, waiting for the big swing that decided the outcome. "I felt going out there and felt good going back out there after the rain delay," the 22-year-old right-hander said after a 2-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. "Its pretty crazy how much it rains, actually. Im pretty used to it." The experience was brand new for rookie OscarTaveras, who made the Giants pay for a hanging curveball, then made a curtain call during his major league debut. "What a great day for him, one Im sure hell never forget, and neither will we," manager MikeMatheny said. "For him to come up and do it in that situation, its kind of mind-boggling." Wacha worked six innings of three-hit ball in his fifth rain-delayed start of the season and Taveras homered in his second career at-bat. "Everybody knows its gone," Taveras said. "That was a good swing right there. Im so happy right now." YusmeiroPetit (3-3) gave up two hits in six innings for the Giants, but one of them was Taveras 418-foot drive in the fifth. Petit subbed for injured MattCain, placed on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury, for the second straight start. "Our guy did a good job," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "We just didnt do anything offensively." The Cardinals have piled up 6 hours, 30 minutes of idle time in Wachas starts, with delays of 51 and 47 minutes Saturday. The total includes a 61-minute weather delay before the first pitch against the Yankees his last start for a storm that failed to materialize, and the Cardinals lost in 12 innings. Wachas debut a year ago against the Royals was delayed more than 4 1/2 hours after the bullpen gave up the lead and finished at 3:14 a.m. "This guys going to be tough as nails, if hes not already," Matheny said of last falls NLCS MVP. "You cant put a young pitcher through much more than what hes been put through." JhonnyPeralta added an RBI double off GeorgeKontos in the seventh for St. Louis, which ended a three-game losing streak and snappeed the Giants four-game winning streak. Nike Roshe Run Solde Homme. Rain began to fall heavily during Taveras at-bat with one out in the fifth while fans opened umbrellas or headed for cover. The game was halted for the first time after the 21-year-old outfielder, the teams prize prospect, hammered a 1-0 pitch over the right field wall. "That kids a stud," said Wacha, whos just one year older. "Everyone knows what hes capable of. That was a big-time homer for us." Petit was impressed after seeing Taveras for the first time. "Hes got a good swing, you know," Petit said. "He pulls everything. I tried to stay away and I missed one." Wacha (4-3) gave up one hit and dealt with just one base runner the first five innings, a double by MichaelMorse leading off the second. He returned after a 47-minute delay to work a scoreless sixth, allowing two-out, two-strike hits to HunterPence and PabloSandoval before striking out Morse, the cleanup man, on three pitches -- the last a changeup. The St. Louis bullpen retired the last nine in order. SamFreeman and PatNeshek worked a scoreless inning apiece, combining for three strikeouts, and TrevorRosenthal struck out the side in the ninth for 16th save in 18 chances. MattCarpenter had a single and walk and is batting .367 (21 for 57) during a 13-game hitting streak, the longest current run in the National League. DETROIT -- The umpiring crew for Game 3 of the AL championship series Tuesday lined up in missing-man formation during a moment of silence for umpire Wally Bell, who died of an apparent heart attack. air jordan 11 retro pas cher . JakePeavy, who will pitch Game 4 for Boston, began his news conference by offering condolences to Bells family. "Wally was a tremendous, tremendous umpire, but a tremendous person as well," Peavy said. "Were here today, I think everybody, man for man in that clubhouse, I know I speak for our guys, were devastated by the news last night and our thoughts and prayers are with his family." The moment of silence was held before the national anthem at Comerica Park. Five umpires lined up next to each other, with a gap between them and the sixth member of the crew. Bell, a veteran of 21 big league seasons, died Monday. "We are all shocked and saddened by Wallys passing," said TonyClark, deputy executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association. "Throughout my playing career, I found Wally to be the consummate professional, whose passion and professionalism made him a master of his craft. On behalf of all players and the staff of the Players Association, I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Wallys family, friends and fellow World Umpires Association members." Nike Free 3.0 v4 Homme . Numbers Game examines the deal that sees MartinSt.Louis and RyanCallahan swapping places. The Rangers Get: RW MartinSt. COLUMBUS, Ohio -- When opposing teams scout No. 3 Ohio State, they seldom notice Lenzelle Smith Jr. Buckeyes coach Thad Matta hopes they keep ignoring him. Smith scored 19 points and No. 3 Ohio State pulled away early to beat Bryant 86-48 on Wednesday night. "I think Lenzelle has been tremendous -- nobodys asked me about him this year," Matta said. "But I think hes playing at a very, very high level of being a complete basketball player." Smith, a 6-foot-4 senior guard who does a little of everything, hit 6 of 9 shots from the field including half of his four 3-point attempts. He had eight rebounds and three assists. "I put a lot of work into my game offensively over the summer. And my confidence is off the charts," he said. "My teammates are stretching the defence and are able to find me wide open. A lot of teams, for some reason, are (not guarding) me and Im getting great looks at the basket. Im just driving my legs and trying to get the most arc I can on the ball -- and its falling." There isnt much about Smith that grabs peoples attention. Point guard Aaron Craft is the tough guy who may be as good a defender on the ball as anyone in the country. Swingman LaQuinton Ross is 6-8 with a velvet shooting touch. Sam Thompson comes off the bench to make high-flying dunks. Shannon Scott and big man Amir Williams are game-changing defenders. And then theres Smith. He leads the Buckeyes (9-0) in scoring with 12.9 points a game. Hes shooting 53 per cent from the field, 48 per cent behind the arc and 74 per cent at the free throw line. He adds 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game -- and may be Ohio States best help defender. "Theyre so talented. Thats whats hard about playing them," Bryant coach Tim OShea said. "Who do you really want to leave open? Theyre just an elite team; a very, very, very elite team." Williams added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Buckeyes, who rolled from the outset of the early round game in the Blackrock Gotham Classic. It will conclude on Dec. 21 with the Buckeyes meeting Notre Dame at Madison Square Garden. The Bulldogs (6-5) hung around with the Buckeyes for a while, but then went scoreless over the last 5:25 of the first half and watched the Buckeyes close with an 8-0 run to take a 43-23 lead. Nike Roshe Run Femme Pas Cher. Ohio State then scored the first five points of the second half before Dan Garvins layup ended a drought of 6:40. By then, it was all over. Ohio State has lost focus from time to time against lesser teams after it has taken a big early lead. Not this time. "That was one of the things we talked about in shootaround -- trying to sustain intensity and effort and to keep the focus on the things that we need to get better at," Matta said. "We did a pretty decent job with that." Dyami Starks had 16 points for Bryant, which was playing its second game in three nights. The Bulldogs lost at Notre Dame, 70-59, on Monday night. Starks came in averaging 22.1 points a game, eighth-best in Division I. He had scored at least 20 in five games and 30 in three others. But he was held to 5-of-15 shooting from the field. The Buckeyes led 8-7 early and then scored 14 of the next 18 points to take command. For the game, they shot 52 per cent on 32 of 61. They hit 8 of 20 3-pointers (40 per cent). With Ohio State denying points inside or off the break, Bryant shot 28 per cent from the field (16 of 58). It was 6 of 24 from behind the arc. "I looked at the scores coming in and very few teams have scored 60 points on them -- and they play fast," OShea said. "So I do think that defensively they play national-championship calibredefence." The Bulldogs dropped to 0-5 all-time against Big Ten opponents. Talk about a tough schedule: They played preseason No. 1 Indiana in the opener a year ago -- in their first official game in Division I. They lost that game 97-54. The Buckeyes appear to have everything clicking right now. "Were making great finds, were reading each other," Smith said. "We have great guards on the perimeter and were able to attack the defence and penetrate and kick the ball out. Thats what you want to do. Our shooting has increased over the last three or four games and we want to just keep rolling." wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

TORONTO -- Head coach Scott Milanovich will have to look for another big-play threat coming out of the Toronto Argonauts backfield this season. Lucas Duda Authentic Jersey . Veteran halfback Chad Kackert retired Sunday, the opening day of the CFL teams training camp. The five-foot-eight, 206-pound Kackert led Toronto to victory in the historic 100th Grey Cup in 12 but has been slow recovering from a broken left leg suffered prior to last years East final. Kackert, 27, will remain with the Argos as their strength-and-conditioning coach. Hell also continue working to rehab his leg and hasnt completely closed the door on resuming his pro career. "Never say never," he said. "I just dont feel like Im anywhere close to being ready to play football, its an issue of range of motion, to be specific. "I want my leg to get better just because who wants to walk around on a gimpy leg the rest of his life? If its sooner rather than later then I will re-evaluate but as of right Im going to get my leg better and coach this team as far as strength and conditioning goes." Despite playing just three seasons in Toronto, Kackert quickly emerged as an offensive threat. He rushed for 1,467 yards on 228 carries -- an impressive 6.4-yard average -- with 12 touchdowns while adding 50 receptions for 454 yards, two TDs. "Chad was a home-run hitter," Milanovich said. "Hed get a crease and could go to the house and thats nice. "He also brought an intangible. The players loved seeing him succeed. When he got the ball and did well, it just kind of ignited our football team. Well see whos around to replace that but well certainly miss those things." Kackert rushed for 638 yards on 100 carries during the 2012 season -- both career highs -- but was at his best in the playoffs. He ran for 139 yards and a TD in Torontos 27-20 road win over Montreal in the East Division final. The next week before over 50,000 fans at Rogers Centre, Kackert was named the MVP of the 100th Grey Cup game, rushing for 133 yards on 20 carries and recording eight catches for 62 yards in the Argos 35-22 win over the Calgary Stampeders. Kackert appeared in just nine games last year, rushing for 480 yards rushing on 71 carries (6.8-yard average) as Toronto (11-7) finished atop the East Division to secure home-field for the conference final. But Kackert didnt play in the Argos 36-24 loss to Hamilton, breaking his left leg during practice. "It was a no-contact practice, freak injury," Kackert said. "I was just running a route, didnt see the defensive end running his twist. "We knocked shoulders and my foot caught the turf and that was it." Injuries plagued the hard-running Kackert throughout his brief Argos tenure but he knew immediately this one was serious. "It hurt," the former University of Hampshire star said. Still, Kackert spent the off-season working to strengthen his leg, accepting he might even have to spend the early part of the season on the injured list before returning. But Kackert realized Friday he simply wasnt ready to go. "I dont want a handout," he said. "I dont want to come on to a team and take a paycheque while Im sitting around not helping anybody. "Im in a position now where I can help people. Its a different contract but its a priceless opportunity." Milanovich wasnt surprised about Kackerts retirement. "I wasnt expecting him to be here as a player," Milanovich said. "It was a very serious injury, particularly with his style of playing using his quickness and speed, and we were planning all along, unfortunately, to have to replace him." But not let him go altogether. Milanovich said he and GM Jim Barker began discussing about two weeks ago the possibility of offering the immensely popular Kackert the strength-and-conditioning position. "Kack is such an integral part of our team," Milanovich said. "Kack is too good a person to not find a way to let him and make him be a part of this. "Thats where it started and we were lucky it was something he was interested in." Very interested, as it turns out. "Its very important to me because Ive fallen in love with this city and Ive kind of established a home base out here," he said. "Jim is never going to make a decision thats going to hinder the team or not get it to the Grey Cup. "Im really honoured to be able to stay here and help get the guys back to where we need to go." However, Kackert admitted it felt a little odd Sunday in his new job. "Its a little tiring standing for three, four hours straight," he said with a chuckle. "But it felt good, the guys are buying in and I appreciate that from them. "Theyre calling me, Coach, already and asking me for workout tips. It will be fun. Im going to learn a lot, theyre going to learn a lot." Teammate Chad Owens was shocked to learn of Kackerts decision "He told me about it (Saturday) and I was kind of lost for words," Owens said. "Its sad because injuries happen in this game, we all understand that . . . but there are certain guys you pray and hope nothing but great things for just because theyre good people. "Kack is probably the most genuine person Ive ever encountered. He is the epitome of a team player. Im going to miss going into battle with him out there on the field because he brought everything he had. He was a playmaker." Kackerts departure creates an open race for the starters job among the seven running backs in camp. Sophomore Curtis Steele does have the benefit of experience in Torontos offence but Milanovich said rookie Anthony Coombs, Torontos 2014 first-round pick, remains very much in the picture. "Its wide open," Milanovich said. "Curtis has an advantage because hes been here and been in the offence but it could be any of those guys at this point." The five-foot-nine, 190-pound Coombs, a Winnipeg native who played at the University of Manitoba, said Kackerts retirement hasnt changed his approach. "Its pretty much the same because we had a lot of good backs that just came in this year," he said. "Its not like its free pickings now. "It (starting) is a huge possibility . . . but you cant think too far ahead. Ive just got to get used to the speed of the game and its coming along slowly but surely. Whether Kackert is in or out I still have the same mentality: Show up to practice, learn the playbook and get better." NOTES -- Lost in Kackerts retirement was Toronto released offensive lineman Scott Mitchell on Sunday. Mitchell was selected second overall by Edmonton in 2011 and signed with the Argos in the off-season as a free agent. He failed his physical Saturday but theres word the expansion Ottawa Redblacks have an interest in the former Rice star . . . Mookie Wilson Mets Jersey .Y. -- Marcos Ambrose should be on pins and needles but says hes not.WASHINGTON -- BryceHarper will have to wait at least one more day to break out of his frustrating slump after Tuesday nights game between the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles was postponed by rain. The game was called following a delay of approximately 2 hours, 30 minutes. The interleague matchup between crosstown rivals will be made up on Aug. 4. The teams will continue the home-and-home series in Baltimore on Wednesday night. Harper came into the game mired in a 4-for-24 skid since his return from the disabled list on June 30. He had left thumb surgery and missed 57 games. Although the 21-year-old was 1 for 13 over his previous four games, manager Matt Williams was confident the outfielder was on the brink of breaking loose. "Looks better. Timings a little better," Williams said Tuesday afternoon. "Its a process man. Take that much time off, its difficult to maintain timing. So I think hes starting to see it a little bit better, hes a little calmer at the plate. Yeah, the results werent there, but standing in the dugout watching it, he just looks calmer. It looks like hes seeing the ball a little bit better." In spite of Harpers struggles, the Nationals started the day a half-game behind Atlanta in the NL East. For that reason, Harper could afford to be patient while waiting for a return to the form that enabled him to win NL Rookie of the Year honours in 2012. "He knows ... its going to take some time. Standing in the box he can also feel itt," Williams said. Nolan Ryan Jersey. . "When hes starting to see the ball better he can feel that, too. So its a question of continuing to work and continuing to go out and play in game situations and see the breaking ball again and again. Hell be good, but it does take time. Ill be happy to write his name in the lineup every day." The rainout forced the Nationals to shuffle their rotation. DougFister, who was slated to start Tuesday, was shoved back to Wednesday. GioGonzalez will start Thursday, and TannerRoark, who was slated to start Wednesday, was moved to the bullpen. Williams said Roark should start Sunday, the final day before the All-Star break. The Orioles came into the game having won seven of eight. They activated right-hander BudNorris from the disabled list to make his first start since June 21. He had been sidelined with a strained groin. Norris will start Wednesday instead, and Wednesdays scheduled starter, Wei-YinChen, was pushed back to Thursday. Williams said talk of a day-night doubleheader Wednesday in Washington, then Baltimore, was never discussed. "Didnt the Mets and Yankees do it at one point?" the manager asked. "I would imagine that it was about the same amount of time to get across New York City that would take for us to get to Baltimore, but no, we had a mutual off day on the 4th of August so well determine what time that game is. Since there was a mutual off day we didnt go that far." wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

MINNEAPOLIS - As JoeMauer walked back to the dugout, the bat in his hand and a sour look on his face, there were boos from the Minnesota crowd.cheapauthenticjerseys . Mauer struck out to end the inning, with a runner on third base in the seventh on Wednesday and the Twins trailing 1-0. Everybody does this, of course, in a sport with a 30 per cent success rate at the plate long proven to be a benchmark of excellence. Failures this year have piled up for Mauer faster than usual for the six-time All-Star, three-time American League batting champion and one-time AL MVP. "Im a heck of a lot more frustrated than they are," Mauer said that night, when asked about those jeering fans. The sound of those boos has been jarring, considering hes the hometown guy from St. Paul with the handsome looks and the hitting skills to build a .321 career batting average, the best among all active players in baseball with at least 3,000 plate appearances. Minnesotans are fiercely proud of and protective of their natives, so Mauer figured to have a lifetime pass in the popularity department here. After signing that $184 million, eight-year contract extension in 2010, though, he has become a more-frequent target of criticism from fans frustrated by the teams struggles the past several years. The 28 home runs he hit in 138 games in 2009 were a one-year wonder. Lingering lower-body injuries limited him to 82 games in 2011. This season, his on-base-plus-slugging percentage was at a career-low .704 entering the weekend series in New York. Mauer is also on pace to blow by his career-high strikeout total of 89 set last year. "I feel pretty good actually, which is even more frustrating," he said. "Im hitting a lot of balls hard and just not having much to show for it. So hopefully that turns here soon." Mauer isnt the only one sputtering with the Twins. The teams batting average with runners in scoring position fell to .214, the second-worst in the league, after losing three of four games to Texas this week. "Were putting together a lot of good at-bats but still not driving people in with runners in scoring position. Thats the main focus, getting guys on, but we cant get them in," second baseman BrianDozier said. Mauer reluctantly gave up his job as the catcher to better protect himself from another concussion, after missing the final six weeks of last season following a foul tip that hit him in the head. The loss to the Twins of Mauers intelligence and defence behind the plate was supposed to be trumped by an increase in his availability and production at a less-taxing position. He missed five games with back spasms earlier this month, but since then he said he feels fine. The problem has been these paltry totals: nine extra-base hits and 15 RBIs through Thursday. "The expectations are very high for him. People get frustrated. I just dont want Joe to get frustrated. I know he is a little bit right now, because he doesnt have the results he wants. But I dont want to put any more pressure on the guy," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "I just want him to just keep being himself, keep swinging, and hell be fine." ___ Dave Campbell on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/DaveCampbellAPwww.cheapauthenticjerseys.us.com . - The Oakland Raiders have signed quarterback TrentEdwards and defensive tackles DavidCarter and TorellTroup to reserve/future contracts. "It was a win, thats all it was for us," Boston coach Doc Rivers said.TSNs Jack Armstrong offers his thoughts on the impressive run of the Phoenix Suns, the absence of PatrickPatterson in the Toronto Raptors lineup, and the upcoming mayhem of NCAA March Madness. 1. PHOENIX SUNS: Second time this year Ive seen them in person and watched them countless other times on TV. Quite impressed with this squad. Ten games over .500 in the brutal Western Conference. Who would have thought that in the Fall? Heres the amazing thing - theyve got a very favourable salary cap situation as well as three first-round picks and a second-round selection in this years deep draft. Long term it really puts them in a nice situation bringing players into a winning and competitive environment internally where talented young picks will have to earn their minutes rather than having them handed to them as it happens on lousy teams. Good for the growth of the franchise. 2. PATRICKPATTERSON (Raptors): Even though his team is 3-2 without him and lost both games by less than 10 points, you can clearly see that they miss him big-time. His ability to shoot the three, rebound, defend on the perimeter and in the post and overall smart play is really missed. TThe second unit was absolutely dominated yesterday by the Suns and when youre missing one of your main focal points of your second unit youll get exposed some days. Cheap Jerseys Authentic. Yesterday was one of them. 3. CANADIANS IN THE NCAAS: Theyll be a bunch of them to watch and well have it covered on TSN starting on Thursday. Really cool to see some of the elite teams having young Canadian players who have vital roles. The game keeps growing and the stories get better. 4. NCAA FINAL FOUR & CHAMPS: My Picks for the Final Four are: Florida, Duke, Oklahoma and Virginia. My Pick for the champs is: Florida. 5. A FEW NCAA LOWER SEEDS THAT CAN WIN A 1ST ROUND GAME : Harvard, St. Josephs, Providence, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Arizona State. Always fun to see who will be this years Cinderella which makes the tournament really special. Have fun and enjoy the games! I cant wait! wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Cheap Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys . -- Kansas Citys OmarInfante has a sprained jaw and needed six stitches to close a cut opened when he was hit by a HeathBell pitch. Infante was injured during the seventh inning of Mondays 4-2 win over Tampa Bay and was sent to the University of Kansas Medical Center. The Royals said Tuesday that the second baseman did not sustain a concussion. The team said he will be evaluated over the following two days and he was not likely to miss a significant amount of playing time. "It was great news, no fracture," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "I just saw him in the training room. He looks good. He just ate something, so he was able to chew. He was smiling. He was talking. It could have been a lot worse, so we really dodged a bullet there." Infante left Detroit during the off-season and signed a $30.25 million, four-year contract with the Royals. DannyValencia replaced Infante at second base on Tuesday, leaving the Royals had no backup infielder.
