Del Potro, the 2012 runner-up and 2013 champion, beat Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 6-2, 7-6 (2) but had to save two set-points on serve at 5-6 in the second. "I recovered myself well in the tiebreak, because I made too many mistakes in the second set," he said. Still feeling pain in his left wrist, he added, "Sometimes I get frustrated . its not easy when I want to close the point and hit hard but I have to hit slices. But I have done this for the past month on the tour and I have to deal with it. If the pain goes away I will start to hit the backhand harder again." Second-seeded Murray bested Austrian qualifier Dominic Thiem 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. They were evenly matched in the first two sets, with Thiem saving three break points to take the second. But Murray asserted himself in the third, in an exciting match which lasted 2 hours, 21 minutes. "It was unbelievably tough with a lot of long games," Murray said. "Maybe fun for the fans, but not (for me) to play against a talent like Dominic Thiem. Well be hearing a lot from him." But Cain, who is 8-19 lifetime against the Padres, had little to show for allowing two runs and four hits in seven innings. After he allowed WillVenables leadoff homer in the first, he settled down and retired 11 consecutive batters before he issued two walks. Cain didnt allow another hit until Maybins two-out double in the sixth. "He did a great job," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "He gave up the leadoff homer and then he dealt. He keeps grinding out there for us." Cain (11-10) struck out seven and walked three as he made his 200th career start. San Francisco rookie BrettPill homered for a second straight game after he hit a home run Tuesday night in his first major league at-bat. The Padres got clutch defensive plays by Venable and Maybin. The first was by Maybin, who made a long running catch while crashing into the wall in left-centre field to rob JustinChristian leading off the game. Maybin hit his forehead on the padded wall and was on the ground for about a minute before he got up and stayed in the game. "I kind of face-planted dead square," Maybin said. "Luckily, I was able to make a play and keep the early momentum because those guys take advantage." Venable threw out Pill at home in the seventh when the rookie tried to score on a medium fly ball to right by pinch-hitter PatBurrell. "Its one of those things that you have to go for it," Bochy said. "It took a perfect throw. Those are the things you look back on and they hurt." Said Harang: "The guys made some good plays from the first hitter of the game that kind of set the tone. DQwell Jackson Womens Elite Jersey. . HeathBell got the final four outs for his 36th save in 40 chances. Bell replaced ChadQualls in the eighth and threw one pitch to retire CarlosBeltran on a line drive to right with a runner on first and two outs. Venable led off the Padres first with his seventh homer to right. It also extended his season club record for leadoff homers to five. The home run was the third allowed by Cain in his last 20 starts. Overall, Cain has given up only eight homers. "Everything was feeling all right," he said. "I was trying to get ahead of guys and get early strikes." Pill tied the game with a homer leading off the fifth. Pill joined JohnBowker as the only two players in franchise history to homer in their first two major league games. Pill homered off WadeLeBlanc on Tuesday night in his first major league at-bat, a two-run shot in the second inning of the Giants 6-4 win. Hopefully, I can sleep well tonight." Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg also scored for Sweden. "It was a tough game, but today we were the better team," Swedish coach Christian Djoos said. Damir Zhafyarov had the lone goal for the Russians, who will play Canada for bronze on Sunday. "We were disappointed not to win, but thats life," Zhafyarov said. "These things happen in hockey, but well be ready to fight for the bronze medal tomorrow." Oscar Dansk made 26 saves for the Swedes, who were outshot 27-21. "He was unbelievable," backup goalie Andreas Johnson said about Dansk, who plays for the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League. "He made some pretty sick saves. He was great." Sweden won gold in 2012 and took silver last year in Ufa, Russia. In round-robin play, Sweden beat Finland 4-2. Finland won the last of its two titles in 1998. Sweden, 6-0-0 in the tournament, is seeking its third title and second in three years. PIESTANY, Slovakia -- Canada defeated Sweden 5-1 on Tuesday for its second straight victory at the under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup tournament. Mitchell Stephens scored two goals in the third period to help put the game out of reach. Canada (2-0) moved into sole possession of first place in the Group B standings while Sweden (1-1) fell into second place. "What I like is how well were playing defensively," said head coach JodyHull. "In this tournament, thats the key. Youve got to play strong in your zone and with the quality of forwards we have and our defencemen, they seem to be working in really good unison right now." Sweden could not capitalize on a pair of 5-on-3 advantages in a scoreless opening period. Travis Konecny scored on a power play in the second period and Lawson Crouse made it a 2-0 game a few minutes later. After Stephens gave Canada a healthy lead, Jansen Harkins iced the win by scoring on a penalty shot late in the third. "After the first period, we sort of found our legs," Stephens said. "We didnt buy into their system of getting caught intto penalties and stuff like that. Brandon Tate. . "I think we got back to our system, got pucks deep and established the forecheck." Tyler Soy added two assists and goaltender Zachary Sawchenko made 27 saves. Philip Magnusson had the lone goal for Sweden and Felix Sandstrom made 36 saves in a losing effort. Hull has been impressed by his teams balanced scoring attack. "Im not relying on one or two guys every night to carry the load," he said. "Im relying on 12 guys to do it. Again, were just playing that solid team game." Canada opened the tournament with a 5-1 victory over Switzerland and will close out the preliminary round Wednesday against host Slovakia at the Zimny Stadion. "The biggest thing for me is that were sticking to the plan," Hull said. "Were not off of it when we get behind or when we get a bit of a lead. We just keep going." The semifinals are scheduled for Friday and the medal games are set for Saturday. Canada has won the summer hockey tournament six years in a row, and 18 of the past 23 times since it began in 1991. The Toronto Blue Jays go after a seventh straight win on Friday when they continue a four-game series with the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. San Antonio Spurs Black Friday Jersey . Getting the call for the Jays on Friday will be lefty J.A.Happ, who is 8-5 with a 4.58 ERA. Happ did not get a decision on Sunday versus New York, as the Yankees reached him for three runs and four hits in 5 1/3 innings of his teams 5-4 win. Happ has beaten the Astros both times he has faced them and has pitched to a 2.53 ERA in those outings. The BlueJays have won nine of 10 and are just 1 1/2 games back of the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East. Houston, meanwhile, will counter with righty CollinMcHugh, who has lost his last six starts. McHughs latest setback came on Sunday against Miami, which reached him for four runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings, dropping him to 4-9 on the year to go along with a 3.45 ERA. McHugh is still among the American League leaders in both opponents batting average (.202) and strikeouts (102 in 88 2/3 innings), but the Astros have put up only eight runs over his losing streak. "We have one job as starters: We go out, and for however many pitches we get -- whether its 95, 105, 120 -- you go out and you get outs," said McHugh, who is 2-7 with a 3.43 ERA over his past 10 starts. This was the Rays first victory since then. "The music is back on in the clubhouse after the game," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "Its good to hear the music. Its a good first game to start hopefully getting us back in the right direction." Bedard (3-4) scattered four hits and walked one in ending a three-start losing streak. JakeMcGee, JoelPeralta and GrantBalfour, who gave up a ninth-inning single, all went one inning to complete a five-hitter. "Its way more fun winning," Bedard said. "We celebrated, and hopefully we do that tomorrow, too." SAN FRANCISCO -- While chatter has swirled about Jim Harbaughs future with the 49ers in recent weeks, wide receiver AnquanBoldin has secured his status in San Francisco -- and even credited the coach for his decision to come back. Jorge Campos Mexico Jersey . The franchise gave him a few million other reasons, too. The 49ers signed Boldin to a two-year, $12 million contract with $9 million guaranteed Monday, keeping quarterback ColinKaepernicks top option from last season and one of Harbaughs favourites from hitting free agency. "Hes a guy I had a real good relationship with," Boldin said about Harbaugh on a conference call with reporters. "Me and him were able to talk about anything. And I just like his demeanour, the way he approaches the game. Hes a guy that wants to win. Im the exact same way. So I think we mesh pretty good." Boldin, who was set to become a free agent next week, led San Francisco with 85 catches for 1,179 yards to go with seven touchdowns last season. He was traded from John Harbaughs Ravens to the 49ers in the off-season for a sixth-round pick after helping Baltimore win the Super Bowl. While the salary cap strapped Ravens failed to make the playoffs, the 49ers finished 12-4 during the regular season -- in part because Boldin filled the void created by an off-season torn right Achilles tendon that sidelined MichaelCrabtree for the first 11 games. Boldins performances earned him the Bill Walsh Award, given to the team MVP by the coaches. Boldins deal locked up one of San Franciscos top off-season priorities and briefly quieted the questions about Harbaughs future with the 49ers after reports surfaced in recent weeks about the team fielding trade offers for the coach from the Cleveland Browns, a possible rift with general manager Trent Baalke and even problems with players. Boldin said he doesnt pay much attention to NFL news in the off-season because hes focused on his family and charitable foundation and "at this time of year, people grab at whatever." But he admitted hed been following the Harbaugh saga. "When I did hear about it, I kind of laughed," Boldin said. "I dont think anybody in our locker room has an issue with coach Harbaugh. The way our locker room is built, we have an open-door policy. If anybody has a concern or wants to voice their opinion, theyre more than welcome to. "There have been times when we have voiced our concerns as players, and coach Harbaugh has listened to us and taken into consideration how we felt as players. So I dont think theres any rift between players and coaches, particularly coach Harbaugh." Boldins return to San Francisco was not all that surprising. Harbaugh said at last weeks NFL Scouting Combine that the franchise was determined to re-sign the wide receiver, and Boldin had repeatedly said he wanted to come back. The sides hashed out the deal before Boldin could become a free agent for the first time in his 11-year career. "We are pleased that Anquan has chosen to continue his career as a 49er," Baalke said in a statement. "He is a consummate professional whose love and respect for the game provide a tremendous example for all players. Anquan has been a very productive player throughout his career and we look forward to his future contributions to our team and community." Boldins transition to the 49ers seemed seamless. Boldin, now 33 years old, was at his best in his debut for San Francisco when he caught 13 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown in a 34-28 win over Green Bay. He then capped his season with his second-best game with nine catches for 149 yards and a score in a Week 17 win over Arizona that clinched the fifth seed for San Francisco. In three playoff games, Boldin had 16 catches for 227 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers lost in the NFC title game to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Boldin, drafted by Arizona in the second round out of Florida State in 2003, played seven seasons for the Cardinals and three for the Ravens. The three-time Pro Bowler has 857 receptions for 11,344 yards and 65 touchdowns in his career, which he believes is far from finished. "Physically, I feel fine," he said. "I feel as if I can play five more years. So thats not a problem for me. I feel great. But well see how it goes." AP Sports Writer Janie McCauley contributed to this story. Womens Francisco Rodriguez Mexico Soccer Red Jersey . But the left-hander knows that getting to this point -- nearly two years removed from shoulder surgery -- was anything but easy. Chicharito . A year ago, as newly appointed general manager Masai Ujiri bided his time and sat out of a lacklustre 2013 draft, this scenario seemed highly improbable. The Raptors, like every other team in the association, had at least one eye on this years rookie crop, one of the most highly touted and eagerly anticipated ever to enter the league.NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Titans have kicked off their search for a new head coach by interviewing Cincinnati Bengals offensive co-ordinator Jay Gruden. The Titans confirmed Tuesday that Gruden had finished interviewing with general manager Ruston Webster. Gruden has been the Bengals offensive co-ordinator the past three seasons as Cincinnati reached the playoffs each of those years. Gruden interviewed last season with four different teams about head coaching jobs. The Titans are one of five NFL teams still looking for a new coach after firing Mike Munchak after three seasons on Saturday. This is only the teams second coaching search since leaving Texas for Tennessee in 1997, and the first conducted by Webster. Tennessee went 7-9 this season extending a playoff drought to five straight years with the last post-season win back in January 2003. Gruden, who interviewed with Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Arizona and San Diego for head coaching jobs last season, is available to interview now because the Bengals (11-6) lost to San Diego in the wild-card round Sunday. Gruden also is due to interview Wednesday with the Washington Redskins, according to a person with familiar with the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the team has not made information on the search public. Javier Hernandez. He played in college at Louisville between 1985 and 1988 before winning four titles in the Arena Football League as a quarterback. He got his start in coaching in Nashville with the then-Nashville Kats in the AFL in 1997 before becoming head coach of the AFLs Orlando Predators where he won two more league titles. Gruden went to work in the NFL in 2002 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an offensive assistant working seven seasons for his brother Jon Gruden. Webster also worked for the Buccaneers during part of that time. The Titans also have asked for permission to talk to Jim Caldwell, the Ravens offensive co-ordinator and former Indianapolis head coach, according to John Wooten. The chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance said Caldwell is expected to interview with Tennessee later this week. Other candidates reportedly include Bengals defensive co-ordinator MikeZimmer and Dallas special teams coach Rich Bisaccia. Chargers offensive co-ordinator Ken Whisenhunt and Seahawks defensive co-ordinator Dan Quinn also are expected to be candidates but cannot interview while their teams remain in the playoffs. ' ' '

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Claudio Bieler hadnt scored since early September, and not from the run of play since mid-July. Seth Sinovic hadnt found the net since last years Eastern Conference semifinals. But the Argentinian centre forward and the hard-working hometown left back both came up big on Wednesday night, with clutch goals that lifted Sporting Kansas City into the East finals with a 3-1 overtime victory over the New England Revolution. Sinovic scored in the 79th minute to force the extra period, nine minutes after Dmitry Imbongos goal forced a 1-all tie in Wednesdays match and gave the Revolution a 3-2 aggregate lead in the two-match series. Then, 23 minutes into overtime, Bieler -- a late second-half substitute -- delivered the series-winner off a cross from Benny Feilhaber. "I think this game shows the character that our team has," said Sinovic, whose only previous career goal came last year in Sportings East semifinal loss to Houston. "We were down two goals in New England and needed a goal to make things a little more realistic coming home, and then they tied it tonight and we needed another goal. So hopefully we can bring that to the next round." Bieler, who entered in the 84th minute, led Sporting with 10 goals in the regular season. He is what he is. Hes a goal-scorer, and its great to see him get his confidence on that goal because we need him down the stretch here." Defender Aurelien Collin also scored for Sporting, who will open the conference finals against Houston on Saturday. Collin knocked in a deflection in the 41st minute for his second goal of the post-season, but Dimitry Imbongos goal, a free kick in the 70th minute tied Wednesdays leg at 1 and put the Revolution up 3-2 on aggregate. Sporting finished with a 32-5 advantage in shots and could have put in one more goal late in overtime, but Graham Zusi hit the crossbar with Revolution keeper Matt Reis injured outside of the penalty area. "We were hoping to get to penalties because we were hanging on and we thought we had the advantage there." ' ' '

Milwaukee Bucks Cyber Monday Jersey . -- TyrekeEvans is still making the adjustment from point guard to small forward for the Sacramento Kings. Cleveland Cavaliers Cyber Monday Jersey .The former Winnipeg Rifles receiver got to work out with the team last season and even dressed for a July game, then spent the rest of the season on the practice roster. DALLAS -- ColtonSceviour has started to adjust to the speed of the NHL game. He scored his first game-winning goal at 17:08 of the third period and the Dallas Stars edged the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Tuesday night. A rebound of a Colorado shot bounced out to RichPeverley, who put a pass on Sceviours stick for a breakaway against Avalanche goalie Jean-SebastienGiguere, who made 25 saves. But there was no save against Sceviour. "The first game seemed a little bit faster," he said. "There was an adjustment period. "(Peverley) caught up to (the puck) and made a great pass. I was able to pick it up in stride and put it in. "Any time you score a game-winning goal its pretty exciting, especially at the NHL level. And late in the third." Sceviour had played just two NHL games before being recalled Saturday from the Texas Stars, for whom he was leading the American Hockey League with 18 goals. He scored his first NHL goal that night at Winnipeg, and his second in three games Tuesday. RayWhitney scored Dallas first two goals, which both erased one-goal deficits. They were his first goals in 13 games, since Nov. 3. The goal that night also broke a 13-game scoreless streak. "Its always nice to score, especially when youve been dry for a while. I hope were going to break that spell. We dont need to go through that again." Dallas victory followed a 6-2 loss on Monday against the Avalanche on the road. And it was with backup DanEllis in goal. "I thought we did an excellent job," Stars coach Lindy Ruff said of the teams turnaround. "With regards to Colorado, we didnt give them free ice the way we did (Monday) night. "We had the (penalty) kills early, and the second period was rock solid except the one we let in." Both Colorado goals, MattDuchenes on a power play in the first period and ErikJohnsons slap shot in the second, came while a Dallas player was serving a double minor penalty. Whitneys second goal, which tied the game in the second period, was the Stars second in 49 power plays at home this season and their first since Nov. 21. In the third period, Ellis made a glove save on GabrielLandeskog from close range on a power play, and prevented Colorado from scoring with an extra skater for more than a minute at games end. "Their goalie made some great saves," Avalanche coach PatrickRoy said. "Landys shot, it was a great save by him at the end. We were buzzing as well and we had some chances." Ellis noticed something about the Avs before the game. "I hhad seen a little bit of their power play with him practicing that in the pre-game skate, so I knew he had a good one-timer," he said. Cyber Monday NBA Jerseys. . "Thats what I was expecting." And at the end, "Its tough to find the puck. I want to make myself as big as possible. Its a battle for sight lines." Dallas had two chances to score into an empty net, but shot wide both times. Whitney said Ellis late saves were key. "The mad scramble around our net, thats where Dan was exceptional," he said. "That would have been really crushing if they would have come down and scored after we hit the posts." Duchene put in a rebound of Johnsons shot for a power-play goal just 2:37 into the game. Johnsons goal at 10:20 of the second period came when the teams were skating 4 on 4, with the Stars AntoineRoussel off for roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct. The Avalanche had failed to score on all five power plays in Mondays 6-2 home victory over the Stars. Colorado was successful on 1 of 6 man advantages Tuesday. Dallas tied the score 1-1 at 7:31. Out of a scramble in front of the Avalanche goal the puck went to Whitney, and he knocked it past Giguere. The Avalanche put just two shots on goal in the second, but one was Johnsons slap shot from the right faceoff circle that restored Colorados one-goal lead. Whitneys second-period goal that tied the game 2-2 was Dallas second power-play goal at home in 49 opportunities this season. Dallas previous goal with a man advantage at home was by StephaneRobidas Nov. 21 in a 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers. Giguere saved 13 Stars shots in the period, but Whitney tied the score 2-2 at 17:19 with his second goal of the game and third this season. AlexChiasson passed from behind the goal line to Whitney, who one-timed a shot from the right circle. The Stars had a 5-on-3 power play for 45 seconds early in the third period, but failed to score. Whitney had a chance for a third goal, but whiffed on a shot from left of the goal. NOTES: Dallas placed forward VernonFiddler on injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 7, when he suffered an upper-body injury. Defenceman AaronRome did not play after sustaining an apparent leg injury Monday. Defenceman CameronGaunce, whose 11 previous NHL games all had been with Colorado, was recalled from Texas of the American Hockey League to fill Fiddlers roster spot. MARKHAM, Ont. Lyle Sendlein . -- Britni Smith didnt know how it happened. One moment she was on the ice taking a shot, the next she was lifting the Toronto Furies first Clarkson Cup. Smith scored in overtime Saturday as the Furies shut out the Boston Blades 1-0. She struggled to describe how it happened. "I honestly dont even remember how we got in their end," Smith said as she held back her emotion. "But the puck went from (Natalie) Spooner behind the net over to Prevo (Caroline Prevost), I saw some ice in front of me, skated ahead, got a perfect pass on the tape. I shot high-blocker and it just twirled in. "Once I saw it cross the line, hands in the air and that was it." The sixth Canadian womens hockey league championship was the first time Toronto (3-1) and Boston (3-1) met in the championship game and the only time the Furies qualified for the final in club history. Toronto was a surprise finalist after defeating the number-one ranked, three-time Clarkson Cup champion Montreal Stars on Friday in the round-robins lone shootout. The Blades were undefeated in the round robin with an impressive 3-0 record, allowing just four goals against in the entire tournament. The Boston-Toronto rivalry was in full effect as both teams fought hard to the finish. Spooner, who scored the shootout winner in Fridays victory over the number-one ranked Stars, was named the tournaments most valuable player. "This year couldnt really have been better for me," said Spooner. "Obviously nothing beats winning an Olympic gold medal but this is pretty sweet right now and I am really happy about it." Christina Kessler was named the tournaments most valuable player after performing stellar in net for the Furies with 25 saves against Boston following up Fridays spectacular 34 save spectacle. "Kess is amazing," said Furies forward Alyssa Baldin. "It is great to have a goalie like Kessler behind you." Blades forwards Hilary Knight, Kate Buesser and Kelli Stack were offensive stars throughout the tournament. Knight, who scored four goals against Calgary on Friday, led the tournament with five goals while Buesser led with seven points. Boston has three members of Olympic silver medallist American team on its roster including Stack and Knight while Toronto has four members of gold-medal winning Canadian squad playing for the Furies, including Jennifer Wakefield, Tessa Bonhomme and Spooner. The Blades were 5-2 against Toronto during the regular season and in the second day of round-robin action Boston defeated Toronto 2-1 in its closest game of the tournament. The pace of the final was quick from the start. Boston had the majority of quality scoring chances in the first 20 minutes and forced Kessler to make nine first-period saves. After a scoreless two periods, both teams speed and goaltending was on full display in the third. Kessler was forced to make a breakaway, short-handed save robbing Knight while Toronto failed to capitalize on the power play as the game headed to overtime. A day after scoring four goals against Calgary, Knight failed to score for Boston against Toronto while Buesser was also kept scoreless. Buesser finished the tournament leading with three game winning goals. Boston goaltender Brittany Ott played fantastic for the Blades, making 25 saves in front of a sold out crowd. During the regular season Boston was 5-2 against Toronto, and on the second day of round-robin action Thursday the Blades defeated Toronto 2-1 in Bostons closest game of the tournament. Jerraud Powers . The 11-year NBA veteran scored 18 of his 28 points in the third quarter and the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Phoenix Suns 104-96 Tuesday to match their season best of five victories in a row. The 32-year-old Cole joined the Birmingham club on a free transfer after being released by West Ham at the end of the season. "Im as excited now as I was as a 16-year-old lad going into my first season with West Ham," said Cole, who won three Premier League titles with Chelsea and earned 56 caps for England. Cole played a small part for the Hammers during his 18-month stint at the east London club. His last Premier League start was in a 3-3 draw against West Bromwich Albion in December. Prior to his return to West Ham, he had a successful loan spell at Lille after struggling to reignite his career with Liverpool in 2010. Justin Bethel Jersey. "Ive been lucky enough to have a really good career but theres still a lot more I want to achieve," Cole said. "This is a massive club and theres a massive opportunity for the club to push on. That was the main factor." Cole is the second major signing this summer for manager Paul Lambert, who is trying to bolster a squad that has been on the verge of relegation the past two seasons. Former Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos joined Villa last week. Cole expects to play in central midfield for Villa, where he hopes help strikers Christian Benteke and Andreas Weimann boost their production. "Having those fast players in attack and around me, I feel like I can supply them with the bullets and get them the ball in the final third," he said. ' ' '

ANN ARBOR, Mich. Michael Griffin Jersey . -- With Arizonas No. 1 ranking hanging precariously in the balance, T.J. McConnell hustled over to the corner for the biggest offensive rebound of the game. Then Nick Johnson drew a foul, and the Wildcats overtook Michigan at the free throw line. Johnson made six free throws over the final 25 seconds, and Arizona held on for a 72-70 victory over the Wolverines on Saturday after rallying from an 11-point deficit in the second half. Michigan led by one with under a minute to go, but McConnell was able to rebound his own miss to keep a crucial possession alive. Johnson drew a foul on a drive with 24.6 seconds left, and he put the Wildcats ahead to stay. "This was as quality of a win as you can have, in my opinion, in the country," Arizona coach Sean Miller said. "I felt like today -- were going to be better if we won, were going to be better if we lost." Michigan (6-4) certainly gave the Wildcats a test, leading for most of the game. Arizona finished with 17 offensive rebounds, but that translated into only a 34-28 scoring advantage in the paint. If the Wolverines had been able to come up with McConnells late miss, they might have been the ones shooting free throws at the end to put the game away. Instead, Arizona got the ball to Johnson, who was fouled and gave his team a 67-66 lead from the line. Michigans Nik Stauskas missed at the other end, and after a tie-up, the possession arrow gave the Wildcats (11-0) the ball with 9.5 seconds remaining. Johnson pushed the lead to three with two more free throws, and Arizona fouled Spike Albrecht at the other end. Albrecht made only one of two free throws, and after two more free throws by Johnson made it 71-67, Albrecht made a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left. Arizonas Gabe York added a free throw to end the scoring. "The first two were the ones that I had to really concentrate about," Johnson said. "After I made those, I knew that the next two, four, were going in." The Wildcats finished 14 of 15 from the free throw line. Brandon Ashley scored 18 points for Arizona, which finally wore down Michigan inside in the final minutes. "I feel like they were just throwing it at the rim and just going up and playing volleyball," said Michigans Jon Horford, who did his best to protect the basket with four blocked shots. "We have to get tougher in that aspect." Glenn Robinson III had 20 points for Michigan, but he did most of his damage in the first half. Caris LeVert contributed 15 points for the Wolverines, but this game was decided by Arizonas late free throws and the one miss by Stauskas when Michigan had a chance to go back ahead. Michigan led 37-28 at halftime, and Mitch McGary pushed the lead to double digits with a dunk for the first points of the second half. But Arizona went on an 11-2 run to pull within two. Michigan led 58-50, but the Wildcats again had an answer. Aaron Gordon and Ashley made consecutive baskets, and a dunk by Ashley cut the lead to two. Johnson, Gordon and Kaleb Tarczewski had 14 points each for Arizona. Tarczewski went down with what looked like a right leg injury around the midpoint of the second half, but he was able to return. Its been a quiet start to the season for Robinson, who showed enough potential in 2012-13 that he considered a jump to the NBA after his freshman year. Against Arizona, he showed why hes a definite candidate to play at the next level. Robinson made all seven of his shots from the field in the first half, including a contested 3-pointer in the final seconds that gave Michigan the nine-point halftime lead. "We didnt feel going in at half that we were down nine," Johnson said. "We felt good about ourselves. We had a few easy shots that we didnt finish." Opponents were shooting only 27 per cent from 3-point range against Arizona coming into the game, but the Wolverines were 6 of 11 in the first half. They finished 8 of 17. The Wildcats rallied late when they finally started converting around the basket. A three-point play with 2:32 to play by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson gave Arizona its first lead of the second half at 63-62. The lead changed hands four more times after that -- for good when Johnson made the first two of his six late free throws. TORONTO, Ontario -- Coach Brent Sutter liked what he saw even if his Canadian junior team dominated the CIS Toronto Selects in exhibition play on Saturday afternoon. Carlos Salcido Jersey . Connor McDavid, the 16-year-old prodigy who draws most of the attention, scored Canadas first goal and big Josh Anderson threw his weight around and scored as Canada downed the Selects 3-0. Left winger Charles Hudon finished it off with an empty-net goal in the final minute. "I was pleased with a lot of things," said Sutter. "There were times in the third where we have to be careful in our own zone. We cant be soft on pucks. We have to do everything hard and do it the right way. "But if you look at the opportunities we had. All three of their goalies played really well for them, but it was good to see. We did a lot of good things." Canada dominated the play and outshot the Selects 56-20. Sutter isnt worried that, considering the number of chances they produced, the finish around the net wasnt quite there yet. It was only the second day of a three-day camp at the Mastercard Centre to kick off preparations for the world junior championship that begins Dec. 26 in Malmo, Sweden. The team will have an off-ice workout Sunday morning before flying to Sweden, where they will play pre-tournament games against Finland, the Swedes and Switzerland before the real games begin. The team will take all 25 players from selection camp to Europe, with no cuts being made in Canada. "I know all these guys can score goals," said Sutter. "So its getting them to become a team first and foremost. Getting them to understand roles theyll have to play on this team and making sure everything is within the confines of how we want to play, our identity as a hockey team." There are 25 players in camp and the roster will be trimmed to 22 -- two goalies, seven defencemen and 13 forwards -- for the tournament. No cuts will be made until the squad gets to Sweden. They could come after the first pre-tournament game Dec. 20 against the Finns. Sutter had encouraging news on Jonathan Drouin, the gifted winger who is expected to be an offensive motor for Canada. The Halifax Mooseheads star, who suffered a concussion last week in Quebec Major Junior Hockey league play, was symptom free after riding a stationary bike and may be fit to resume skating when the team gets to Europe. "Well get him to go a little farther (on Sunday) and if that goes well, well get him on the ice when we go overseas," the coach said. The juniors owned the puck against the Selects, a team put together from three university squads, and Sutter gave plenty of ice time to the unit of McDavid, 2014 draft prospect Sam Reinhart and left winger Hunter Shinkaruk. McDavid is vying to become the sixth skater to play for Canadas world junior squad at 16, after Wayne Gretzky, Jason Spezza, Eric Lindros, Jay Bouwmeester and Sidney Crosby. He helped his bid with a strong effort against the Selects. "I was okay," the skinny, six-foot phenom said. "I felt pretty good out there. "The pace was pretty good. The guys were a lot older, a lot bigger. I felt I had my legs. I felt the team played very well for our first game together. We didnt give up a whole lot defensively, which was good." Canada outshot the students 19-3 in the opening period and had Hudon, Reinhart and Curtis Lazar hit goalposts. Still, the Selects first-period goalie Garrett Sheehan kept it scoreless. The period offered several special teams situations, including one-man and two-man advantages and 4-on-4 play. McDavid and Reinhart got ice time in all of them. McDavid even played the right point on a two-man advantage. "That was a little different," the Erie Otters star said. "(Sutter) wants to try some things out. "I will do whatever he wants me to. It was nice to play the power play and everything like that. There are 15 other forwards that can do that. I just want to worry about keeping my play up." McDavid finally got a goal on a power play 13:37 into the second period against Andrew Perugini, and was dangerous around the net for most of the game. Asked about McDavid, Sutter grinned and said "he really did a good job." Then there was the six-foot-two Anderson, a Columbus Blue Jackets prospect who plays by the Brian Burke buzzword "truculence." He not only dished out checks, but got a goal 15 seconds into the third period, picking the top corner behind Troy Passingham after a feed from behind the net from Rychel. His line with Rychel and six-foot-four Frederik Gauthier also stood out. "As the game went on, that line really got their legs under them," said Sutter. "Theyre all big guys that can skate. "They play a heavy game. They get on the forecheck hard and theyre smart. Its nice to have that size on your team and who play that way." Hudon had a wild night, missing on two breakaways before finally picking off a cross-ice pass and going in alone to score the empty-netter. Zachary Fucale started for Canada and Jake Paterson took over at 10:06 of the second to share the shutout. Fucale had to be sharp on two chances by Andrew Buck early in the second after a turnover in Canadas end. "There wasnt that many shots, but I kept my focus and did some good things out there and thats what we want," said Fucale. "The team played well in front of me, which made it easy on me," said Fucales camp roommate Paterson. "But all in all it was a good game." Normally, Canada has its goalies play for both teams when it faces a CIS squad, but Sutter said he didnt want his goalies playing against each other. Notes: Canada scratched four players -- Griffin Reinhart, Bo Horvat, Josh Morrissey and Nic Petan. Sutter said Morrissey came to camp with soreness from an injury and they opted to rest him. The other were players who are all-but locks to make the team . . The CIS team was made up of players from York, Toronto and Ryerson universities. Alan Pulido Mexico Jersey . Gonzalez participated in his final game on Sunday, Atlantas 21-20 defeat at the hands of the NFC South champion Carolina Panthers, having posted four catches for 46 yards. Miguel Ponce Mexico Jersey . The Texas Rangers right-hander will probably reconsider now. Wolf pitched five strong innings for his first big league win in his first start in the majors, DavidMurphy and AdrianBeltre homered in a three-run first inning, and the Rangers avoided a sweep with a 3-1 victory against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday.CALGARY -- Jake Virtanen scored twice, including once shorthanded, as the Calgary Hitmen cruised past the Regina Pats 5-1 on Tuesday in the Western Hockey League. Brady Brassart, Mike Winther and Pavel Padakin also scored for Eastern Conference-leading Calgary (31-11-5). Jesse Zgraggen had the lone goal for the Pats (24-19-5). Hitmen goaltender Mack Shields turned aside 31 shots, three better than Reginas Daniel Wapple. --- COUGARS 5 HURRICANES 2 PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. -- The Cougars scored three unanswered goals to beat Lethbridge. Tyler Mrkonjic, Marc McNulty, Jordan Tkatch, Troy Bourke and Brett Roulston had a goal each for Prince George (18-24-7). Bryton Sayers and Taylor Cooper replied for the league-worst Hurricanes (9-35-5), who dropped their fifth straight. Adam Beukeboom stopped 24 shots in net for the Cougars, while Jonny Hogue made 39 savees for Lethbridge. Diego Reyes Jersey. --- THUNDERBIRDS 3 WARRIORS 2 (SO) SEATTLE -- Shea Theodore scored the only shootout goal as the Thunderbirds won their seventh straight game. Scott Eansor and Ethan Bear gave Seattle (29-14-5) a 2-0 lead before the game was four minutes old. Brayden Point scored twice for Moose Jaw (13-26-8), including a power-play goal with eight seconds left in regulation to force extra time. Taran Kozun made 29 saves for the Thunderbirds. Brody Willms, meanwhile, stopped 35 shots for the Warriors. --- ROYALS 2 TIGERS 1 VICTORIA -- Coleman Vollrath made 28 saves to help the Royals edge Medicine Hat. Brandon Magee and Brandon Fushimi had a goal each for Victoria (31-16-2). Curtis Valk gave the Tigers (26-16-3) some hope with a second-period goal. Medicine Hat goaltender Marek Langhamer meanwhile stopped 28 shots. ' ' '

MILWAUKEE -- GiannisAntetokounmpo is the rookie who gets most of the attention for Milwaukee. San Antonio Spurs Cyber Monday Jersey . It was another first-year player who made the biggest shot Tuesday night to give the Bucks a rare victory. NateWolters hit a 3-pointer with 29 seconds left to give Milwaukee the lead for good in a 104-100 win over the Orlando Magic. With an NBA-worst 10-43 record, Bucks coach Larry Drew is giving plenty of minutes to young players. Antetokounmpo and Wolters made key contributions both offensively and defensively in the final minutes against Orlando. "They hit a dagger, that shot Nate hit," Magic guard ETwaunMoore said. Wolters missed 26 of his first 29 attempts from 3-point range this season but is 5 for 11 in the teams last four games. "Im feeling a lot better from 3. Im going to shoot with confidence, and hopefully I can keep it up," he said. "Ive been playing so many minutes. Coach is giving me the opportunity, so I have to knock some shots down." His 27-foot jumper with 6 seconds left on the shot clock helped Milwaukee snap a four-game losing streak. "I didnt have much time so I just decided to pull up and shoot it," Wolters said. "Sometimes those are the easiest ones, when you know you have to shoot it. Its nice to get a win." After Wolters gave the Bucks the lead, Antetokounmpo stole the ball from ArronAfflalo and was fouled, making one free throw for a 100-97 advantage. "I was focused tonight," Antetokounmpo said. "For a rookie that means a lot to be focused down the stretch, especially being a little bit panicked." BrandonKnight overcame a bizarre foot injury for the Bucks, scoring 18 points and making two free throws with 5.5 seconds left to seal the victory. He played 34 minutes despite slicing his foot open on a baseboard while stepping out of his bathroom shower Tuesday afternoon. Knight, unavailable for comment after the game, missed 10 of 13 shots from the field but hit all 12 of his free throws. Before the game, he said he was unsure whether he could play. He started anyway. The Bucks made 22 of 30 free throws, while the Magic went 9 of 16. "The free throws were the big thing," Orlando coach JacqueVaughn said. "Their ability to get in the bonus and get downhill and get into the lane was a big part of them winning." Orlando fell to 3-24 on the road. Despite snapping their four-game skid, the Bucks have lost 19 of 22 overall. Afflalo scored 21 points and NikolaVucevic added 19 for Orlando. After Antetokounmpo made the free throw that gave Milwaukee a 100-97 lead, Afflalo missed a 3-pointer. ErsanIlyasova hit a pair of free throws for a 102-97 advantage. JameerNelson made a 3 with 6 seconds to go to make it 102-100. Knight was fouled and made both free throws to clinch it. CaronButler, returning after missing four games with a sprained ankle, led the Bucks with 21 points on seven 3-pointers but didnt score in the fourth quarter. Afflalo shot 9 of 15 to snap a mini-slump. The Magic guard had made only 15 of 44 shots in his past four games. Vucevic took a pass from Nelson and made a 14-foot jumper to give Orlando (16-39) a 97-96 advantage with 50 seconds left, its first lead since 4 minutes remained in the third quarter. Antetokounmpo capped Milwaukees 8-2 run to open the fourth. He blocked a layup attempt by KyleOQuinn and hit JohnHenson for a dunk, giving the Bucks an 89-81 lead with 8:57 to go. Orlando scored the next seven points to pull to 89-88 on Maurice Harkless 3-pointer with 6:44 left. Butler made six 3s and the Bucks led 53-47 at halftime. It was only the 10th time in 53 games that Milwaukee has led at halftime. NOTES: Milwaukee F KhrisMiddleton left in the first quarter after twisting his ankle, but returned in the second. ... O.J.Mayo, who had missed nine consecutive games with what the Bucks termed "illness/conditioning," was expected to play limited minutes but remained on the bench the entire game. Drew said he had hoped to play Mayo, but was unable to due to game circumstances. Denver Nuggets Cyber Monday Jersey .53 ERA in those games. On Tuesday night, he pitched seven solid innings and finally got his first victory as the Royals beat the Houston Astros 4-2. "Im just really proud for him because that was like his fifth time hes gone for his first win and hes had an opportunity to win ballgames two or three times and we couldnt hold it for him," Royals manager Ned Yost said. Miami Heat Cyber Monday Jersey . -- U.S. captain TomWatson said Monday that TigerWoods latest back injury "doesnt bode well right now" for Woods playing in the Ryder Cup.The St. Louis Blues have climbed into top spot in the TSN.ca NHL Power Rankings. The Blues, who have been ranked in the Top Five all season, too over from the Colorado Avalanche, who plummeted from first to seventh, after losing three straight and having first-line centre MattDuchene suffer an oblique injury. Just behind the Blues, the San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild round out a top four of Western Conference clubs. The Boston Bruins are the top representative from the East, in fifth. Among those rising this week, the Los Angeles Kings havent missed a beat without goaltender JonathanQuick, thanks to stellar play from BenScrivens, so the Kings moved from 12 to six and the surging Dallas Stars, 6-1-1 in November, moved from 15 to nine. A 7-1-1 record in November has helped the Washington Capitals, who climbed from 18 to 13 this week. Phoenix Suns Black Friday Jersey. After vaulting up to third last week, the Anaheim Ducks went winless, and sent goaltender FrederikAndersen to the AHL, resulting in a fall down to 11. Canadian clubs were among those falling. The Vancouver Canucks, who have one win in the last six, dropped from eight to 12, while the centre-less Toronto Maple Leafs dip from 11 to 15. The Ottawa Senators fell from 13 to 19, at least in part because RobinLehner was no longer starting every game in goal. As for other Canadian teams, the Montreal Canadiens held at 14 and the Winnipeg Jets moved up a couple of spots to 18. The Calgary Flames keep fading, from 23 to 27, and the Edmonton Oilers remain at 28. The Chicago Blackhawks filled their hole at second-line centre by securing the services of a veteran at a cut-rate price. Hakeem Nicks Jersey . Numbers Game looks at the Blackhawks signing BradRichards. The Blackhawks Get: C BradRichards. Richards, 34, has been a productive scorer throughout his career, but that productivity has waned as he approaches his mid-thirties. While he finished with a respectable 51 points in 82 games last season, that 0.62 points per game represented a career low and the second-lowest rate of his career was in 2012-2013, when he had 0.74 points per game. The downward trend is pretty clear at this point. He played 18:40 per game last season, his lowest average time on ice since his rookie season in 2000-2001. Given the massive contract that Richards had with the New York Rangers (nine years, $60-million), and the new recapture penalties that were imposed in the latest collective bargaining agreement, the Rangers had little choice but to buy out Richards, after paying him $33-million for the first three years of his deal. A long and productive career leaves Richards with few needs financially, so he went into his newfound free agency looking for a good fit and settled on joining the Blackhawks, a Stanley Cup contender who could use an upgrade at their second-line centre spot. In the past couple years, even as his point production has started to fall, Richards has had his zone starts tilted towards the offensive zone, with more than 65% of his shifts starting in the offensive zone. As a result, hes had strong possession stats, which may be enough to suggest that, even in decline, in a sheltered role, Richards would be an upgrade on MichalHandzus as Chicagos number two centre. In Chicago, there is a good opportunity for Richards to have a productive year. Any combination of the Blackhawks top scoring wingers includes PatrickSharp, MarianHossa, PatrickKane and BrandonSaad, so playing with two of them ought to give Richards a chance to have decent even-strength production. Whether Richards can match last seasons scoring totals, however, probably will have some dependence on power play production and, over the past couple seasons, Richards has really struggled to produce with the man advantage. Furthermore, Richards presence likely means that top Blackhawks prospect TeuvoTeravainen wont be starting the season in Chicago and that may be fine for his overall development, but if Teravainen shows that hes ready, it would be easy enough to see Richards bumped down the depth chart, as has happened from time to time with the Rangers over the past couple seasons. There is a benefit to the contract that Richards signed with Chicago -- a one-year, $2-million deal -- in that his declining production in New York was frequently contrasted with how much money the Rangers had tied up to get him. Now, Richards is a bargain signing and if he gives Chicago decent second-line production, he would bring a positive return on investment. Mens Black Dwayne Allen Elite Jersey. -- The Erie Otters won their eighth straight game with a four-goal outburst in the third en route to an 8-4 win over the Sarnia Sting in Ontario Hockey League play Saturday. The San Antonio Spurs fought off a valiant effort from the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal and will go for a 2-0 series lead Wednesday night when the two long-time rivals clash at AT&T Center. On Sunday afternoon, the Spurs trailed 81-71 with 7:45 to play, but closed the game on a 19-4 run. They finished with a 90-85 victory and a 10-game winning streak against their Texas neighbors. "Made some stops, that generates offense. We needed it," San Antonios All- Star guard TonyParker said of the run. San Antonio couldnt buy a 3-pointer as ManuGinobili was the only Spur to convert one in Game 1. He went 3-of-6 from 3-point range, but the Spurs went just 3-of-17 (17.6 percent) as a team. It shot a blistering 43.3 percent (42- of-97) from downtown in four games against Dallas this season. The difference on Sunday was TimDuncan. The future Hall of Famer finished with 27 points and seven rebounds. "We got killed on threes in the first four outings this year," Mavericks forward DirkNowitzki said. "We stayed home a little more on 3-point shooters, but youve got to give them something, and Duncan in there is obviously still solid." Parker posted 21 points, six assists and four rebounds for the top-seeded Spurs, who finished with the NBAs best record at 62-20. Ginobili finished with 17 points and six rebounds, while KawhiLeonard registered a double- double with 11 points and 10 boards. DevinHarris led Dallas with 19 points, followed by 11 apiece from Nowitzzki, MontaEllis and BrandanWright. Womens Reggie Wayne Elite Jersey Two Tone. VinceCarter chipped in 10 off the bench. The late-game run was sparked by, of course, Duncan. He banked in a turnaround and then put in a runner to begin the surge before TiagoSplitter tied the game at 81-81 with a layup with 4:54 remaining. Consecutive Parker baskets gave the Spurs their first lead since it was 50-49 when there was 8:14 left in the third. Wright split a pair of foul shots to pull Dallas within 86-82 with 2:05 on the clock, but it never got any closer. Splitter sunk two foul shots at the other end and the Mavericks missed three of their final four shots from the field. "Its obvious that we did a lot of great things," Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle told the teams website. "We built a lead, but 7 1/2 minutes is a long time in an NBA game and youve got to be able to sustain. Weve got to work on getting another lead in Game 2 and then closing." The Spurs received some good news on Tuesday when Gregg Popovich was named Coach of the Year. He became the third coach to earn the honor three times, joining Pat Riley and Don Nelson. "I feel very honored for a whole lot of reasons," said Popovich. "First, there were so many coaches that did such a great job this year. To be singled out is pretty humbling. "When you win an award, it comes down to the players. Theyve been unbelievable for me. Without their play, diligence and professionalism, I know this wouldnt happen." Game 3 will be Saturday evening in Dallas. ' ' '

TORONTO -- Former light-heavyweight champions Tito (The Peoples Champ) Ortiz and Forrest Griffin will meet for the third time at UFC 148 on July 7 in Las Vegas. Lynn Swann Jersey . Ortiz (17-10-1) won the first time they met, via split decision in 2006. Griffin evened the score at UFC 106 in 2009. This will probably mark the last hurrah for the 37-year-old Ortiz, who has lost five of his last six. He has campaigned for the Griffin rubber match, saying a May fight would serve as his 15-year MMA swansong. The 33-year-old Griffin (18-7) is coming off a first-round KO loss to Mauricio (Shogun) Rua. The UFC had previously announced another UFC 148 matchup of former champions with former light-heavyweight title-holder Rich Franklin meeting former Strikeforce middleweight champ Cung Le at UFC 148 in a bout at 185 pounds. Franklin (28-6 with one no contest) has been sidelined by shoulder surgery in recent months. His last fight was a loss to Griffin at UFC 126 in February 2011. Le (7-2) was stopped by Wanderlei (The Axe Murderer) Silva at UFC 139 last November, his first fight in the UFC since coming over from Strikeforce. Also at UFC 148, middleweight Tim (The Barbarian) Boetsch takes on Englands Michael (The Count) Bisping while bantamweight Renan Barao looks to extend his unbeaten streak to 32 fights when he takes on Jeff (Hellbound) Hougland at UFC 148. In other UFC news, the rematch between flyweights Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall will take place on a June 8 televised card. Johnson was awarded the decision when the two met earlier this month in Australia, only to find out later that the judges scores were mistabulated and the bout was a draw. The Johnson-McCall winner will meet Joseph Benavidez for the 125-pound title. Bantamweights Dustin Pague and Jared Papazian will also fight on the June 8 card. NOTES@ -- Diego Wilson (5-1) will meet Corey Gower (3-1) in an all-B.C. main event put on by Victoria-based Armageddon Fighting Championship. "AFC 8: Vengeance" is slated for April 14. The card also features Karel Bergen (5-0) against Adam Smith (3-0) and Nick Driedger (5-1) against Bruno Capdeville (3-3). Mens Antonio Brown Elite Black Jersey . When she had similar pain a decade ago, she was out of action for about eight months. But Pettersen missed only a month this time, and the 33-year-old Norwegian is already on top of the leaderboard again after a bogey-free 5-under 66 on Thursday in the first round of the North Texas LPGA Shootout. "I feel good. I mean very patient. Just really just trying to enjoy being back," Pettersen said. "I got to kind of pace myself a little bit. I cant do too much early in the week. So I have a lot of spare time to fool around with. ... I really cant go hit balls on the range. I play whatever I need to play and then just try to give my body a little bit of break." Pettersen had a one-stroke lead over playing partner Cristie Kerr and Michelle Wie, Caroline Masson, Christina Kim, Cydney Clanton and Dori Carter. Pettersen is playing her second tournament since withdrawing before the Kia Classic in late March, and being told rest was the way to heal her back. The worlds fourth-ranked player tied for 28th in San Francisco last week. "Its been a little bit achy early this week. So taking it a little bit careful," she said. "But last week was nice to be back. Its always tough when you come back from something like that when youre so out of play. Youre not even close to be playing. And then next thing you know the pain is gone and you can start hitting balls, and to bring back the mentality straightaway." Pettersen took sole possession of the lead when she birdied Nos. 7 and 8, her 16th and 17th holes of the day at Las Colinas Country Club. Among the 35 players under par was Juli Inkster, the 53-year-old with eight major victories who shot 69. The last of Inksters 31 career victories came in 2006. Wie is playing with confidence and just trying to have fun, and had her 15th consecutive round of par or better. Markus Wheaton Jersey. All have come in a stretch when she was the runner-up in the seasons first major, won at home in Hawaii for his first LPGA Tour victory in nearly four years and then had another top-10 finish last week in San Francisco, not far from alma mater Stanford. "Definitely, my confidence level is up from last year, " said Wie, whose five top-10 finishes are already one more than she had in 26 tournaments all last season. Top-ranked Inbee Park, the defending champion, and Texas native Stacy Lewis, the highest-ranked American at No. 3, both shot 71. Park had four birdies, but the South Korean also had a bogey at the par-5 third hole, and made double bogey at the par-4 15th. "It was just one of those kind of days," Park said. "Nothing went really wrong, but just a couple of bad shots that really penalized me today." Lewis round included two three-putts and a one-stroke penalty when she unintentionally kicked her own ball in the No. 10 fairway. Kim hit 17 of 18 greens, while needing 31 putts in a bogey-free round that was her lowest score this season. The 30-year-old Kim hasnt won on the LPGA Tour since 2005, and her best finish last season was tying for 11th at North Texas. "Just played steady," Kim said. "I struck the ball really well and just kept the ball in front of me and was able to find it after every swing." Masson started the inaugural North Texas LPGA Shootout last year with a bogey-free 64, and the German also was the second-round leader. "On one hand I know I can go low here and shoot a good score. On the other hand, I kind of feel like I want to make up for the last round last year," said Masson, who finished 15th last year after a closing 75. "Its positive memories, though. I mean it was a great week for me last year, just to really get going. ... Its never nice to shoot a bad last round, but I dont have it in my head too much." ' ' '

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. Dwayne Allen Womens Elite Jersey . -- The LPGA Tour will use the womens world ranking to determine the final two U.S. players who qualify for the 2013 Solheim Cup. The 10 qualifiers for this years American team were determined by a points list, which is based on LPGA Tour earnings. Now, the top eight will qualify off the points list, and the next two will come from the world ranking. If that were in effect this year, Christina Kim would not have qualified. Kim, who has had a top 10 all year, earned the 10th spot this year based on her performance in 2010. The last two U.S. captains, Rosie Jones and Beth Daniel, have endorsed the change. Daniel says she looked closely at the ranking when making her two captains picks in 2009. Coby Fleener Jersey .Y. -- Marcos Ambrose should be on pins and needles but says hes not. DQwell Jackson Womens Elite Jersey ." The announcement from Rutgers President Robert Barchi, who said there was a "miscommunication" about the speeches, is the latest development in a strange saga surrounding the May 18 ceremony. The New Jersey university initially announced that former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would give the keynote address, and school officials maintained that she would not be "disinvited" as some students and faculty protested her selection, including holding a sit-in last week.PITTSBURGH, Pa. - SidneyCrosby will be back. EvgeniMalkin too. After that, what happens to the Pittsburgh Penguins over another post-season disappointment is anybodys guess. DanBylsma, the winningest coach in franchise history, may be out of a job. Ray Shero, the general manager who spent the last half-decade unsuccessfully trying to replicate the success of 2009, could also be gone. When Crosby lifted the Stanley Cup in triumph on that warm night in Detroit five years ago, it was supposed to mark the beginning of hockeys next dynasty. That hasnt materialized. A handful of maddening springs later, it might be time to move on. Bylsma allowed as much Tuesday night after the Penguins fell to the New York Rangers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, a 2-1 defeat that capped a stunning collapse after Pittsburgh grabbed a commanding 3-1 series lead. "You think about it being the last game," Bylsma said. While the Rangers exulted at one end of the Consol Energy Center ice after advancing to hockeys final four, the Penguins solemnly lined up for a handshake after losing a Game 7 at home for the third time in five seasons. This isnt the way it was supposed to go. Not this time. Despite losing over 500 man games to injury easily the highest total in the NHL Pittsburgh strolled to the Metropolitan Division title behind the steady and spectacular play of Crosby, who led the league in scoring and is a heavy favourite to win his second MVP award. After surviving a bumpy six-game series with plucky Columbus in the opening round, the Penguins appeared in total control after a 4-2 win in Game 4 against the weary Rangers. Then it all fell apart. A dismal 5-1 loss in Game 5 shifted momentum to the guys in the blue shirts. New York goaltender HenrikLundqvist did the rest, including 35 sublime saves in the deciding game. Defenceman MattNiskanen called the debacle in Game 5 a "missed opportunity," one that could lead to significant change in a dressing room that has been among the most stable in the league. "When expectations are high and you ddont win, thats normal," Crosby said. Pink Andrew Luck Elite Jersey. "Im sure there will be a lot of questions." At the moment, there dont appear to be a lot of answers. Crosby insists hes healthy but lacked his otherworldly sharpness at times, scoring just one goal in 13 playoff games. "It wasnt a lack of effort or competing or anything like that," he said. "Id love to tear it up every series, but its not always the case. It doesnt make it any easier, Ill tell you that. Its tough losing as it is but when youre unable to contribute as much as youd like, its even tougher." Maybe, but its become all too common for one of the NHLs marquee franchises. The Penguins have sold out every home game since Valentines Day in 2007 and play a brand of entertaining hockey that is overwhelmingly successful in the regular season but doesnt always translate in the tight-checking crucible of the playoffs. The leagues top power play during the regular season went just 1 for 20 with the man advantage against New York. Unable to generate much offence from in front of the net, the Penguins spent most of the last three games unsuccessfully peppering Lundqvist from long distance. Its a path that led only to frustration and an all-too-familiar result: the Penguins watching another team skate off the ice in celebration. It happened in 2010, when Pittsburgh fell to Montreal at home in Game 7. It happened last spring, when the Penguins failed to lead the Boston Bruins for a single second while getting swept out of the conference finals. Ray Shero doubled down after seeing his team silenced by the Bruins. He awarded Bylsma a two-year extension, signed Malkin and defenceman KrisLetang to long-term deals and brought back defenceman RobScuderi to give the blue line some heft. Different path. Same result. Only this time there will be no doubling down. There will be only change. "Its all tough," Malkin said. "We have great teammates here. We work hard. But 3-1 up in series and last three games we lost, its tough. See you next season, I dont know." Neither does anybody else. ' ' '

TORONTO -- Scott Milanovich doesnt want the Toronto Argonauts to completely forget their dismal start to the 2014 CFL season. Womens Reggie Wayne Elite Jersey Two Tone . Toronto opened the campaign with a lopsided 45-21 road loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. On Saturday, the Argos host a Saskatchewan Roughriders squad that registered 10 sacks in a 31-10 dismantling of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in its season opener. "Take nothing away from Winnipeg but I think we were embarrassed with the way we performed and should feel like weve got a lot to prove (Saturday)," the Argos head coach said Friday. "I know Im looking forward to kickoff to see if we can get this bad taste out of our mouth. "I dont know if you ever really let one like that go. Those happen from time to time but they need to stick with you a little bit." The upstart Bombers, who posted a league-worst 3-15 record in 2013, dominated the Argos. Quarterback Drew Willy threw for 308 yards and four TDs while running back Nic Grigsby rushed for 122 yards. Winnipeg also recovered two fumbles, with Demond Washington returning one for a TD. Toronto was also flagged 22 times. The defending Grey Cup-champion Riders were very impressive in their opener. Former Toronto defensive end Ricky Foley had three sacks as the defence held Hamilton to just 114 net offensive yards. Newcomer Anthony Allen -- replacing departed Grey Cup MVP Kory Sheets -- rushed for 158 yards and a TD and also had a touchdown catch. So effective was the run game that Saskatchewan quarterback Darian Durant only threw 22 passes, completing 15-for-136 yards and two TDs. Torontos revamped defence -- it has just four returning starters -- will have four new faces against Saskatchewan. Cornerback Vincent Agnew, safety Jermaine Gabriel, linebacker Antwaun Molden and defensive tackle Marcus Thomas all get the nod as cornerback Matt Ware, linebacker Jamie Robinson and safety Matt Black go on the injured list while defensive lineman Greg Romeus is placed on the practice roster. Running back Jeremiah Johnson goes to the injured list, with Anthony Woodson (practice roster) replacing him. That means sophomore Curtis Steele and rookie Anthony Coombs -- Torontos 14 first-round pick from the University of Manitoba -- will share tailback duties. "Its a great opportunity for us to see how much weve improved in one week playing the champs in our building," Milanovich said. "They (Riders) are going to get some plays but the other thing you look for is how are we going to react to adversity? "When you have that many new guys like we do now, part of it is fun because you dont know whos going to be the person whos going to take the leadership reigns of this team. Im really anxious to see who thats going to be. Hopefully its several guys." However, Milanovich said its important to keep Saturdays game in proper perspective. "Win or lose, this game isnt going to define who we are in three months," he said. "Everybody, myself included, gets caught up in what happens today and what happened last week and theres no avoiding that but I try not to lose sight of the big picture. "Even if we win the game if we didnt improve and build towards becoming a better team by the time October and November roll around, it doesnt matter. To me, that was the biggest difference in my two seasons here as the head coach. Even though we were below a .500 club in 2012 we improved every week throughout the season and by the end of the season were playing well. Last year we were leading the East probably most of the way but I dont think we made the incremental improvements we did the year before so I dont know if we got any better while other teams were getting better." In 2012, Toronto won its final two regular-season games to finish second in the East Division with a 9-9 record before mounting its Grey Cup-winning run. Last year, the Argos were first with an 11-7 record before losing to Hamilton in the conference final. Saskatchewans Corey Chamblin -- the CFLs coach of the year in 13 -- said Toronto quarterback Ricky Ray, who had a league-record 77.2 completion average last year, will present the Riders defence with plenty of challenges. "At the end of the day were going to play a different style football team, especially with the quarterback," he said. "This is a more seasoned quarterback than the one we played (Hamiltons Zach Collaros). "We didnt get a lot of looks, we just played fast. But with this quarterback its going to be tough. Youre going to have to play fast and do some things you dont usually do to keep Ricky off his game." Ray was 27-of-38 passing for 283 yards and two TDs against Winnipeg but Toronto rushed for just 42 total yards and had the ball less than 24 minutes overall. However, Ray said there are the things the Argos can do to help limit Saskatchewans pass rush. "You try not to hold on to (the football) too long to give those guys extra seconds to get in there," he said. "Another thing is weve got to be balanced, weve got to be effective with our run and pass game to keep those guys off balance and guessing about whats going to be coming. "We also want to try and get a lead . . . to make sure youre not having to throw on every down because youre behind." Not much has separated Saskatchewan and Toronto the past two years as theyve split their regular-season series 2-2. "Even the year we won it I thought they were very, very close," Milanovich said of the Riders. "Its a very good football team, our guys know we can match up with them and have the ability to compete with them and win the game. "I certainly hope they know that. Were going to have to play well, certainly, to do it." Durant expects a more fundamentally sound Argos squad Saturday. "I dont think theyll give up any easy plays," he said. "Theyre going to make us earn everything we get." Hakeem Nicks Jersey . -- BrandonJennings made the most of his first game with the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night. You can watch the game on TSN at 7pm et/4pm pt and listen to the game on TSN Radio 690 in Montreal. After starting the month of November on an 0-3-1 slide, the Canadiens have recorded wins in three of their last five outings (3-1-1). However, Montreal has also lost four of six and seven of its past 10 games in Washington. With the Canadiens playing on back-to-back days, PeterBudaj will get the start tonight while CareyPrice is scheduled to play Saturday against Pittsburgh. Budaj is 0-2-1 with a 2.95 goals against average in four career outings against the Capitals. Montreal turned in its best offensive performance of the season in its most recent trip to the ice, setting a season-high in goals with Tuesdays 6-2 home victory over Minnesota. MaxPacioretty scored the first three goals of the game to notch his second career hat trick and lead the way in the rout of the Wild. Pacioretty had just two goals in 12 games this season before more than doubling his total with Tuesdays outburst. The American winger fired a career-high 10 shots on goal against the Wild. "Ive missed a lot of good opportunities lately and it started getting in my head that I couldnt score," Pacioretty told his teams official website after the game. MichaelBournival, DanielBriere and AlexGalchenyuk also lit the lamp for the Canadiens, while CareyPrice made 25 saves for the win. Montreal, which is playing three of its next four games on the road, is just 1-3-0 as the visiting team in November. The Capitals will try bouncee back after having their momentum halted the last time out. Mens Black Dwayne Allen Elite Jersey. The Capitals had won three in a row and scored four times in each game during that hot streak before getting dealt a 4-0 home loss by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. It marked just the second time this season Washington had been blanked and the first time since the New York Rangers recorded a 2-0 win in D.C. on Oct. 16. Washington also was outshot by a wide 40-18 margin in Wednesdays loss, which ended a six-game home winning streak for the Caps and dropped them to 8-4-0 at the Verizon Center this season. The club hadnt lost on home ice since the 2-0 setback versus the Rangers last month. While Marc-AndreFleury needed only to make 18 stops to record the shutout for Pittsburgh, Capitals netminder BradenHoltby turned aside 36-of-40 shots in a losing effort. The Pens fired 32 shots at Holtby through the first two periods alone and held a 3-0 edge after 40 minutes of action. "Theres lots of ways to lose games, and thats not really one way you want to do it," Washington head coach AdamOates said after the disappointing effort. Washington could get a boost from the return of defenseman MikeGreen on Friday. The offensive-minded blueliner sat out the past three games with a lower-body injury, but expects to play tonight. Green has 11 points -- all assists -- in 19 games this season. The Caps hope Green can help them get back in the win column tonight in the finale of a three-game homestand. Washington has had tons of success against the Canadiens in recent years, winning two straight and eight of the past nine overall meetings between the clubs. ' ' '

LOS ANGELES -- Bermane Stiverne completed his long journey to a heavyweight title with one more punishing victory. Blake Bortles Elite Jersey Womens . Stiverne stopped Chris Arreola in the sixth round Saturday night, claiming the WBC heavyweight title belt vacated by Vitali Klitschko. Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KOs), who was born in Haiti but grew up in Montreal, dropped Arreola twice in the sixth, and he was punishing Arreola again when referee Jack Reiss stopped the fight with 58 seconds left in the round. The Klitschko brothers had held every major heavyweight title for the past six years. Vitalis retirement into Ukrainian politics in December opened the WBC belt for the 35-year-old Stiverne, a late bloomer who hasnt lost in 13 consecutive fights. After beating Arreola by decision last year, Stiverne hadnt fought in nearly 13 months while waiting for Klitschkos decision to retire. The wait was worth it. "I studied and studied," Stiverne said. "I watched my opponent. I knew I could knock him out. ... I was patient. The plan was to let him get comfortable, and he soon as he gets real comfortable, then crack him. And thats what I did." Stiverne dropped Arreola (36-4) for the first time with a sweeping right hand to Arreolas left temple, sending Arreola wobbling and crashing to the canvas. Arreola rose and kept fighting, but Stiverne put him headfirst into the ropes moments later with another combination. After Reiss stopped the fight, Stiverne wept with the WBCs green belt around his shoulder while promoter Don King celebrated at the Galen Center on USCs downtown campus. "I knew it was a wrap," Stiverne said. "The way I trained, I knew I could knock him out because Ive got the power." Stiverne won a lop-sided decision over Arreola last April, breaking Arreolas nose in the third round. Arreola, who acknowledged training poorly for that fight, felt he lost the rematch when he got hit by the same punch that finished the first fight. "He has a tremendous right hand, thats exactly what it was," Arreola said. "I felt like I was winning the fight. He just got me with the same right hand. Couldnt get away from it, and after that, its all she wrote." The well-travelled Stiverne, who fought for Canada as an amateur boxer and trained in Florida earlier in his pro career, worked out of Floyd Mayweathers gym in Las Vegas for this bout. He is the first heavyweight champion of Haitian descent and the first champ not named Klitschko since Samuel Peter, who was stopped by Vitali Klitschko in 2008. Wladimir Klitschko, who holds the other three major heavyweight titles, is eager to claim all four belts by fighting the winner. But before that lucrative bout, Stiverne must fight unbeaten Deontay Wilder, the U.S. Olympic bronze medallist and the WBCs mandatory challenger. "With all due respect, I dont give a damn about Wilder or Klitschko right now," Stiverne said. "Right now, its about what I won." Arreola has lost both of his shots at the WBC heavyweight title, getting pounded by Vitali Klitschko in 2009 just up the street at Staples Center. The Los Angeles-area native was attempting to become the first heavyweight champion of Mexican descent. "I could have got back up plenty of times," Arreola said. "Was the fight stopped a little early? I believe so. But then again, the referee is there to protect me from myself. But I felt like I was winning the fight." Both fighters took advantage of the small 17-by-17-foot ring at the Galen Center, which was hosting its first boxing card. Stiverne landed the biggest shots in the opening round, but Arreola dominated the second and third rounds with a withering series of combinations, trapping Stiverne against the ropes. Stiverne laughed off the punishment and allowed Arreola to keep moving forward, content to counterpunch. "I wasnt hurt," Stiverne said. "He actually punched me, my mouth was open, and he busted my lip. I was trying to find out if there was food or something in my teeth, but it was my lip. He didnt hurt me in the head." Stiverne hasnt lost since July 2007, when he was stopped by Demetrice King. He fought to a majority draw with Charles Davis in 2009, but has stopped five of his last seven opponents. Custom Jacksonville Jaguars Jersey . Bergmann, who came ninth in Bad Gastein a year ago for his only previous top-10 result, defeated Andreas Prommegger of Austria in the final of the single-run format. Aaron March of Italy finished third by beating Sebastian Kislinger of Austria. Toby Gerhart Elite Jersey Womens . -- BrianDawkins biggest contribution Sunday in the AFC wild card playoffs will be with his talking and not his tackling.MINNEAPOLIS -- RudyGay had 19 points and eight rebounds, lifting the Memphis Grizzlies to a 90-86 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night in their first game since learning ZachRandolph would be out for six to eight weeks. O.J.Mayo scored 11 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter and MikeConley had 12 points and eight assists for Memphis. KevinLove had 27 points and 14 rebounds and RickyRubio added 12 points, 10 assists and four rebounds for the Timberwolves, who missed a chance for their first three-game winning streak since February 2010. Love became the first player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975 to record 20 points and 12 rebounds in his teams first six games. But it wasnt enough against the hard-nosed Grizzlies, who scored 23 points off 17 turnovers and held the Wolves to 40 per cent shooting to grind out the kind of victory that would make Randolph proud. Memphis used a 13-0 run to take a 76-68 lead with 3:37 to go, then held on as the Wolves tried to rally. Love, LukeRidnour and Rubio hit threes, the last from the Spaniard with 16.5 seconds to play to make it 84-83. But Conley and Mayo knocked down free throws to hold them off. TonyAllen added 20 points for Memphis. The Grizzlies found out earlier Wednesday that they will be missing Randolph, their emotional leader and best player, for the next six to eight weeks because of a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee. It was Randoolph who instilled the swagger and toughness in this young team last year, carrying them to within one win of the Western Conference finals. Allen Hurns Jersey. Memphis traded a second-round pick to Philadelphia and sent guard XavierHenry to New Orleans as part of a three-team trade that landed them Philly big man MarreeseSpeights, but most of the onus will be put on Gay and Gasol to fill the void. Memphis trailed 68-63 with 7:45 to play, but ripped off a 13-0 run to take control. Mayo, who was a Timberwolf for about an hour on draft night in 2008 before being traded for Love, hit a three-pointer, a three-point play and a free throw in the spurt for a 76-68 lead. The Timberwolves were sluggish for most of the night, but Rubio energized them at the start of the fourth quarter with a nice flurry. He ended the third with a stutter-step score on a drive, then opened the fourth with a 28-foot lob pass to DerrickWilliams. Rubio added a jumper from just inside the three-point line and drew a charge on the other end as the Wolves took a 64-61 lead. NOTES: The Timberwolves played without JJ Barea (strained right hamstring) for the third time in four games. Adelman said they wanted to play it cautious and make sure he was full healthy before they brought him back. ... Conley made his first start since spraining his ankle three games ago. ... Wolves F AnthonyTolliver took a nasty fall under the basket in the fourth but was able to finish it out. ' ' '

With less than a week until the NHL Trade Deadline, check out the latest trade-related reports and speculation from around the NHL beat. Isaac Brizuela . And follow TSN.ca right through Deadline Day for all the updates. Is that Your Final Answer? The Pittsburgh Penguins are reportedly ponying up in their efforts to lure RyanKesler out of Vancouver. Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported a proposed deal between the Pens and Canucks that he credited to multiple sources. A proposed deal would send Kesler to the Penguins in exchange for BrandonSutter, two 2014 draft picks likely a first- and third-round and the Canucks choice of defensemen SimonDespres or BrianDumoulin, Rossi wrote on Saturday. Rossi continued to say that it is possible the deal could involve another player going in either direction, but that Penguins GM Ray Shero was only looking to acquire Kesler. Goalies Gone Wild The Minnesota Wild are apparently very much in the market for an upgrade between the pipes. According to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Wild GM Chuck Fletcher is after a netminder and was even in on discussions for former Buffalo keeper RyanMiller before getting priced out. So, who fits the bill for Minnys playoff push? Russo drops a lengthy list that spans from new Sabres acquisition Jarsolav Halak to established number ones like MartinBrodeur and CamWard to enigmatic Oilers netminder IlyaBryzgalov. Snowfall Warning? Could this be PaulStastnys last week as a member of the Colorado Avalanche? The Denver Posts Adrian Dater writes that if the Avs are unable to get the 28-year-old re-upped before the deadline, they could deal him rather than risk losing him for nothing over the summer as an unrestricted free agent. "You want to keep winning and dont want to break that chemistry, but at the same time if something happens, it happens. Its just part of the business. Some things I cant control and I just worry about what I can control and thats playing hockey," Stastny told the Post. Dater believes the Avs could probably expect a young defenseman in return and one that might still have time left on an existing deal or, if not, a pending restricted free agent. Call Me, Maybe? JaromirJagr is an intriguing name to watch prior to Wednesday. The 42-year-old just became the NHLs seventh 700-goal scorer and as a pending unrestricted free agent could be an attractive veteran addition for many teams as they push towards the post-season. But the iconic Czech winger cautions that any team looking for his services should probably run it by him first. The situation with me is I think if any team would try to trade for me they would probably ask me first if I wanted to go there, Jagr told the Star-Ledger after the New Jersey Devils Saturday win over the New York Islanders. I dont have a contract (for next season) and Im 42 years old. What if I decided to go home? Nobody is going to give any draft picks or players for me if they dont know. Same thing happened when I went to Boston (from Dallas last season). They called before. So Im probably going to know whats going on before. Isaac Brizuela Mexico Jersey . "The opportunities are going to come," he said Monday on a conference call from Slovenia, where the team was preparing for a friendly. "If we werent creating chances then it would be a different conversation. Jared Borgetti Jersey . - The Colorado Rapids say theyve received a first-round 2015 MLS SuperDraft pick, allocation money and a contract buyout from FC Dallas as compensation for coach Oscar Parejas leaving to take the same job with his former club. PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- RoryMcIlroy is 18 holes away from his first PGA Tour victory in 18 months, a chance to show the world he is back on his game. Thats not the way McIlroy views the final round at the Honda Classic. McIlroy started strong, avoided a big number with a brilliant bogey in the middle and took on the wind and water on the 16th hole for one final birdie Saturday that gave him a 1-under 69 in the toughest conditions and a two-shot lead over RussellHenley at PGA National. The 24-year-old from Northern Ireland has come to expect this kind of performance. He finished one shot behind in Abu Dhabi. He played in the final group in Dubai, where nothing went well in the final round. And here is again, making key shots and big putt to keep his nose in front in the Honda Classic. "Ive been building and building toward getting my game to a level where I feel it should be," he said. "And Im pretty much at that point now." Saturday wasnt easy. McIlroy might have saved his day with a bogey on the par-3 seventh. He took a penalty drop from under a palmetto bush, and faced a shot off the pine straw across 20 yards of rough to an elevated green with the pin toward the back right. The shot came off perfectly, and he holed the 8-foot putt for bogey. "It was one of the best up-and-downs Ive ever had, I guess," McIlroy said. "And it was almost like a momentum builder. I just bogeyed the last, but walking off that seventh green with a bogey almost felt like I had saved par or I had almost gained a shot on the field. It kept any momentum that I had going to the next few holes." He closed out his round with a 5-iron into the wind to 10 feet of the flag on the 16th for a birdie, and then narrowly missed two birdie chances on the closing holes. McIlroy was at 12-under 198. Asked about the importance of winning on a major tour for the first time since the World Tour Championship in Dubai at the end of 2012, and the first time since the BMW Championship at Crooked Stick in 2012 on the PGA Tour, Boy Wonder grappled for the right answer. "It would be nice. It would be my seventh PGA Tour win," he said. "Thats what it is. No bigger, no smaller. And Ill go home and have a nice night and get up the next morning and go play the Seminole Pro-Member. So its all good." He also knows its not over. Henley wasnt doing anything special until he holed out from 150 yards for eagle on No. 14, and then rammed in a 50-foot birdie putt from just off the green at the 17th for birdie that gave him a 68 and put him in the last grroup for the first time since he won the Sony Open last year. Miguel Layun Mexico Jersey. Thats the only time Henley has won -- in his debut as a PGA Tour member -- and he hasnt been in this situation since then. Henley has only two top 10s since that win down from Waikiki Beach at the start of 2012. Now he has to chase one of golfs biggest stars, on a course where only one players -- ErnieEls in 2008 -- has come from behind on the final day to win. "Im trying not to pay attention to what Rory is doing," Henley said. "Obviously, hes playing great and hes been in this situation a little bit more than me. But I still have a lot of confidence and Im just going to try to play my game and not worry about what hes doing too much." RussellKnox of Scotland had a 68 and was three shots behind, while JhonattanVegas of Venezuela had a 66 and was another shot back. DavidHearn (70) of Brantford, Ont., was tied for 35th at 3 under. TigerWoods is still in the game, but just barely. Woods matched the low round of the day. He was among five players who shot 65, all before the leaders teed off and the wind kicked into gear, but it was enough to move the No. 1 player 49 spots up the leaderboard and into a tie for 17th. Even so, he was seven shots behind. Woods has never won a PGA Tour event when trailing by more than five shots entering the last round. "Today was a positive day," Woods said after his lowest score in 10 rounds this year. "Hit the ball well and made some putts and got myself back in the hunt." It doesnt figure to be easy for Woods or anyone to track down McIlroy, who has converted the 54-hole lead in his last four PGA Tour wins dating to the 2011 Masters, where he blew a four-shot lead. That streak includes the Honda Classic two years, which he won to rise to No. 1 in the world for the first time. "Definitely not a coincidence," McIlroy said. "I learned a lot that day. I learned not to protect a 54-hole lead. I should have just stuck to the game plan, stuck to my process, not look at the leaderboard, not look at what other people are doing. ... And thats the reason that every 54-hole lead that Ive had since, Ive been able to close the deal. Hopefully, I can keep that run going tomorrow." It would be a remarkable turnaround for McIlroy, who a year ago was so frustrated with his game and high expectations that he walked off the course after 26 holes, a mistake he vowed to never repeat. "Theres still 18 holes to go," he said. "But Im feeling comfortable with where I am." ' ' '

CHICAGO -- ArronAfflalo is quietly putting together a nice season for the Orlando Magic. Darnell Dockett Kids Jersey . He just wants to add more wins to his solid statistics. He thinks that team success could be coming soon. Afflalo scored 23 points and the Magic got double-doubles from GlenDavis and NikolaVucevic in an 83-82 victory over the slumping Chicago Bulls on Monday night. "To me, its just about us getting healthy, putting it together, and getting some consistency," Afflalo said. "I feel once we get consistent with the things that we do well were going to be pretty good." Davis had 14 points and 11 rebounds despite playing with a sore left shoulder, powering Orlando to a 54-45 edge on the glass in just its second win in the last 10 games. Vucevic finished with 10 points and 11 boards. Orlando (8-17) closed out a nine-game stretch that included eight road games. It begins a six-game homestand on Wednesday night against Utah. "Im really looking forward to our personal home stretch back in Orlando and hopefully putting a streak together for once," said Afflalo, who is averaging a career-high 21.6 points on 47 per cent shooting. The Bulls (9-14) had a chance to win despite shooting 34.6 per cent from the field during another terrible offensive performance. Trailing 81-79 with 6.8 seconds left, JoakimNoah made a terrific bounce pass to a streaking LuolDeng, but he missed the easy layup. "I had a good angle and it was a great pass by Jo," Deng said. "I missed the shot and I knew I missed it when it left my hand. It was just a bad, bad miss and my fault." Davis grabbed the rebound and made two foul shots to give the Magic a four-point lead that proved crucial when MikeDunleavy made a 3-pointer from half court as time expired. Deng had 26 points and eight rebounds for Chicago, which has dropped five of six. D.J.Augustin and Dunleavy had 14 points apiece, and Noah finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. "Its not pretty right now," Dunleavy said. "We are battling, we are trying, we just keep coming up short." JameerNelson had 14 points and seven assists for Orlando, which had lost its last five games against Chicago. The Magic appeared to be on their way to an easy victory when Vucevic and Afflalo made consecutive jumpers to make it 63-46 with 5:17 left in the third. Afflalo had 13 points in the period. But the Bulls started to pick up their play at the end of the quarter. Augustin, Dunleavy and Deng each made a 3-pointer during a 13-2 run that trimmed Orlandos lead to 65-59 with 58.1 seconds left, capped by an emphatic two-handed jam by TajGibson over Vucevic. "Its tough. Were losing to teams that were supposed to be beating," Gibson said. "Thats the way I feel. I just feel like we have to do better, including myself. This one hurts." The Bulls played without point guard KirkHinrich for the second straight game due to back stiffness. Coach Tom Thibodeau said he hopes Hinrich will be able to return soon. MarquisTeague replaced Hinrich in the starting lineup, but Chicagos offence looked much better when Augustin was on the court. Augustin, who signed with the Bulls on Friday and started the second half, had eight assists in 37 minutes, while Teague was scoreless in 11 minutes. Thibodeau said he thought about starting Augustin, but he wasnt sure if he was comfortable enough with the Bulls schemes. "I didnt want him to be tentative," Thibodeau said. "I thought he was much more aggressive. I liked the effort that he put in defensively. I think there are things he can do better, but I thought he made great effort and I think thats important." Davis injured his shoulder in the fourth quarter of Orlandos 101-98 loss at Oklahoma City on Sunday. He was a game-time decision against the Bulls, but he made two big jumpers in the final period while playing 33 minutes. "Im just proud of our guys, to go back home with a win," he said. Davis said his shoulder loosened up during the game and he just tried to give it everything he had. He also said he wanted to play against Bulls forward CarlosBoozer. "I like playing against Boozer. He really fires my engine," Davis said with a wry grin. "Just his whole attitude really gets under me." NOTES: Magic rookie VictorOladipo, who played his college ball at Indiana, received a warm ovation when he was introduced with the starting lineup. ... The Bulls waived G MikeJames before the game. He played 37 1/2 minutes over seven games with Chicago. ... These teams play again on Jan. 15 in Orlando and April 14 back in Chicago. ... Boozer had six points on 3 -for-10 shooting to go along with 13 rebounds.Lyle Sendlein Jersey . Sopoaga hit the upright with his first shot at goal from 15 metres. He then kicked nine goals in succession -- two conversions and seven penalties -- before being replaced in the 62nd minute, three points short of the Highlanders record for most points in a match. Sam Acho Kids Jersey . PAUL, Minn. The Calgary Stampeders announced the hiring of Rich Stubler as their new defensive coordinator on Thursday morning. Stubler had spent the last two seasons in the same capacity with the BC Lions. "Im pleased to be able to add a coach with such a wealth of experience," said Stampeders coach and general manager John Hufnagel in a release. "Rich has a great track record of success as a coach in this league and I know hell be a tremendous asset to our staff." Stubler made his CFL coaching debut in 1983 as the defensive coordinator for the Hammilton Tiger-Cats. Alameda Taamu. Hes also spent time in the same role with Edmonton Eskimos and Toronto Argonauts. In 2008, Stubler served as head coach of the Argos. "Im appreciative that the Stampeders and Coach Hufnagel have a little faith in me, said Stubler in the same release. Im really excited to come and work for the Red and White. Stubler had met with new Winnipeg Blue Bombers coach Mike OShea last week about coming aboard in the same capacity with the Bombers. As a CFL coach, Stubler has won four Grey Cups. ' ' '

AGADIR, Morocco -- British Open champion DarrenClarke and Javier Ballesteros, the son of the late Seve Ballesteros, have been denied the chance to compete in Mallorca because the Iberdrola Open in May was cancelled. Josh Evans Elite Jersey Womens . The Iberdrola Open was to take place from May 10-13 but Keith Waters, the chief operating officer with the European Tour, said it couldnt survive without a sponsor. "Its just a reflection of the tough economic times everyone is facing at present," Waters said. Clarkes three-shot success at Pula Golf Club ended a three-year winless drought and eventually led to success two months later in the British Open at Royal St. Georges. Ballesteros, the 21-year old son of Seve Ballesteros who plays off a handicap of 0.0, was invited by tournament host JoseMariaOlazabal to tee up as an amateur and on the one-year anniversary of his fathers passing. "Its a bit disappointing as I was looking forward to playing in Mallorca," Ballesteros said. Ballesteros, whose younger brother Manuel plays off a handicap of 3.5, indicated he has two years remaining for a law degree and will then consider whether he will turn professional. "Im still not sure what I am going to do," he said. "I am playing some amateur tournaments in Spain and I will probably play about 10 big amateur tournaments this year." Despite being a son of one of the greatest golfers, Ballesteros indicated he feels no such pressure when competing. "No, I feel no pressure on me and for the moment I just try to go out there and play for fun," he said. The Maderia Islands Open in Portugal was moved to replace the Iberdrola Open. Jacksonville Jaguars Jersey ., native Andrew Wiggins wasnt around a year ago for one of the worst nights in Kansas basketball history. Marcedes Lewis Jersey . Louis Cardinals had a major need at shortstop and signed a veteran free agent who, while having PED issues, has been a potent hitter throughout his career.NEW YORK -- JamesHarden was back in the lineup, JeremyLin was back at Madison Square Garden, and that was just enough to help the Houston Rockets withstand CarmeloAnthony and the New York Knicks. Harden scored 36 points in his return from a one-game absence, and the Rockets overcame Anthonys 45 points for a 109-106 victory Thursday night. Anthony had the highest-scoring game in the NBA this season and grabbed 10 rebounds, but it wasnt enough for the Knicks in their fourth straight home loss. ChandlerParsons added 22 points and Lin had 21 for the Rockets, who beat the Knicks for the eighth straight time even on a mostly silent night from DwightHoward, largely outplayed by AndreaBargnani. "Jeremy stepped up, James played big and thats what we need," Howard said. Howard had just seven points with his 15 rebounds, though he did make a pair of free throws with 1:15 left that gave Houston a five-point lead. Harden, who missed the Rockets 123-117 overtime loss in Philadelphia on Wednesday with a bruised left foot, scored seven straight Houston points for nine-point lead with 3:51 left. He finished 16 of 18 at the line. But there was plenty of excitement left, including Anthony just missing a potential four-point play when the Rockets fouled him intentionally behind the arc leading by three with 5 seconds left. Anthony threw the ball up and it went in, but officials ruled it came after Harden fouled him. The Rockets hadnt fouled in similar situations lately, and both Toronto and Philadelphia made late 3s to force them into overtime. "It seems like that has happened a lot to us lately. Last-second shots. The first two times you know we didnt foul and they made big 3s. Tonight a foul and they still made a big 3," Harden said. Not quite. Knicks coach Mike Woodson wanted referees to review the call, though it isnt reviewable, and Anthony wouldnt say if he believed it should have counted. "My thoughts dont mean anything at this point in time," said Anthony, who did express his frustration with some of the calls Harden received. "It really doesnt matter right now for me to say whether I thought it was a good call or not. So therefore we move on from that." Anthony made both free throwss -- he was trying to miss the second intentionally -- but Harden answered with a pair to make it 109-106 with 2. Allen Robinson Jersey. 9 seconds to play, and J.R.Smith was well off with a long-distance heave at the buzzer. Bargnani scored 24 points for the Knicks and played surprisingly strong defence on Howard, who shot 1 of 5. Smith scored 15 points in his second start but shot just 4 of 16 for the Knicks, who also cost themselves when Anthonys intentional foul on Howard away from the ball came with under 2 minutes left, allowing the Rockets to retain possession. Lin, back to coming off the bench after starting Wednesday in Hardens place, has won both games back at MSG, where he burst onto the worldwide scene two years ago during his memorable run of Linsanity. Lin came in on another nice roll, scoring 65 points in his previous two games, the best two-game stretch of his career. But the Rockets wasted his 34-point, 12-assist game Wednesday that featured a Rockets record-tying nine 3-pointers. "We played more as a team today," Lin said. "We really moved the ball, shared the ball. We played really unselfish today and we also did what we needed to do defensively." Houston led 28-23 after one and was starting to run away with it when it opened a 49-35 lead during Parsons run of 11 straight Rockets points. But he didnt score the rest of the half after his driving dunk with 3:10 left, and Anthony and Bargnani combined for three 3-pointers during a 13-2 run to close the half and cut it to 53-52. "Weve let four games in a row at home get away, thats something we hadnt done since Ive been here," Woodson said. "Thats kind of frustrating from a coachs standpoint, but were still learning each other and trying to figure it out, and we will eventually." NOTES: Center OmerAsik didnt play for the Rockets after the Houston Chronicle reported he had requested a trade. He had been starting along with Howard until coach Kevin McHale scrapped the alignment. McHale said Asik told him he didnt feel well and that he hadnt heard about any rumours. ... Rockets backup forward GregSmith left with what appeared to be a right leg injury following an awkward landing after playing just 40 seconds in the first quarter. ' ' '

GLENDALE, Ariz. Jake Locker Jersey . -- The Phoenix Coyotes zipped around the ice, generating good scoring chances, getting into a scrap after a big hit, pumping in a goal late in the first period. It was just the kind of effort they needed against a team that had played the night before, particularly one thats ahead of them in the standings. OliverEkman-Larsson scored two goals, ThomasGreiss stopped 30 shots and the Coyotes kicked off an important five-game homestand with a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night. "We caught a team at the right time, but that being said, I thought we played the right kind of game to take advantage of it," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "We kept getting pucks deep, we put some pucks at the net and it was a pretty solid game throughout our lineup." The Coyotes needed to string together some victories during their homestand after a rough stretch dropped them to ninth in the Western Conference. They responded with arguably their best game of the season, playing solid in their own end while peppering JonathanQuick with 29 shots. AntoineVermette had a goal and an assist to extend his points streak to five games and ShaneDoan had his 500th career assist on Ekman-Larssons second goal. That was more than enough for Greiss, who had his second shutout this season, third career. "It was a huge game for us," Ekman-Larsson said. "We talked about this game and I think we played well for 60 minutes." Los Angeles laboured after playing the night before and for the fourth time in six nights. The Kings also continued to struggle in the offensive zone. Los Angeles was relegated to the outside mostly in the first two periods and hit the post twice in the third, unable to get anything past Greiss. The Kings have scored two goals in their past four games and have lost six of seven. "Tonight, I dont know how many really good chances we had," Kings captain DustinBrown said. "Probably a bit of them playing really well and us not being hungry enough to get to the dirty areas and if were going to score goals, thats what were going to have to get back to." The Coyotes have been tumbling down the Western Conference standings, losing seven of their past 10 games. They did rally from a 4-2 deficit to earn a point against Vancouver Sunday night behind Vermettes third career hat trick. Phoenix still had its offensive mojo going early against the Kings, creating some good chances and while getting traffic in front of Quick, who made some tough stops, including a sprawling save on JeffHalpern. Ekman-Larsson broke through late in the first period, whipping a wrister from the point past Quick. A physical game between two rivals became even rougher in the second period, when JordanNolan levelled KyleChipchura with a shoulder, setting of a scrum along the boards. Phoenix got a power play out of it and scored 12 seconds into it, when Ekman-Larsson beat Quick with a slapshot just outside the faceoff circle. Greiss had a string of tough saves as the game opened up late in the second period and Vermette put it out of reach in the third, punching in a rebound for his team-leading 19th goal of the season. The Kings hit the post twice in the final period, but, as has been the case lately, the pucks caromed away instead of into the net. "Theres a team-wide frustration and a personal frustration for some guys in here," Brown said. NOTES: Vermette has six goals and two assists during his points streak. ... The Kings have scored three goals in their past 38 power play chances. ... Coyotes LW PaulBissonnette received a 10-minute misconduct in the second period for throwing punches at Nolan after his hit on Chipchura. Nate Washington Jersey . The Browns have relaxed their media limitations to see rookie quarterback JohnnyManziel practice. Jason McCourty Jersey . Barrichello is thrilled to be racing in front of his Brazilian fans for the first time since joining IndyCar, but admits he still is adapting to the series and wont be racing among the leaders on Sunday.PHILADELPHIA - AdamEaton hit a go-ahead double in the 18th inning as the Arizona Diamondbacks outlasted the Philadelphia Phillies 12-7 in a record-setting, marathon game for both clubs Saturday night. The teams combined to use 20 pitchers in a contest that ended at 2:12 a.m. and took 7 hours, 6 minutes setting a mark for length of game for both teams. It was the longest game by time since the Dodgers and Astros played eight minutes longer on June 3, 1989. The 18 innings also matched the longest game in Diamondbacks history in terms of innings, though the Phillies fell short of the 21-inning club record set in 1918. The teams combined for 137 at-bats, 35 hits, 32 strikeouts and 28 walks. Both teams used 22 of their available 25 players, with only three starting pitchers for each going unused. The Phillies began the 18th with outfielder CasperWells (0-1) on the mound. After retiring the first two batters, Wells walked TonyCampana to start Arizonas five-run inning. With Campana running, Eaton lined a double to left-centre to put Arizona in front 8-7. After Wells intentionally walked PaulGoldschmidt, MartinPrado drove in Eaton with a single to right to give the Diamondbacks a two-run advantage. GerardoParra broke the game open with a two-run single that spelled the end for Wells, who was replaced by another position player, infielder JohnMcDonald. The Phillies couldnt score in the bottom of the frame off TrevorCahill (5-10), who pitched four scoreless innings of relief.
