Pathers #8 Jersey . Louis Blues have dealt goaltender BenBishop to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for asecond-round selection in the 2013 entry draft. NEW YORK -- PeytonManning has responded to a lost season the way he reacted to all of his great seasons. By having more great seasons. Manning was the only unanimous choice for the 2013 Associated Press NFL All-Pro team Friday. It was his seventh time as a first-teamer, tying Hall of Famer Otto Graham for the most by a quarterback. The Denver star set NFL records this season with 55 touchdown passes and 5,477 yards through the air. He was chosen on all 50 ballots from media members who regularly cover the NFL. Manning also was an All-Pro for Indianapolis in 2003, 04, 05, 08 and 09 and last season made it as a Bronco. Hes been on the All-Pro team in both seasons since missing 2011 after several neck surgeries. "I think its well documented that this is the second chapter of my career, and didnt know what to expect off that injury and new team, new players and new physical state after an injury," said Manning, a four-time league MVP who never missed a pro start before 2011. "So I had no idea what to expect, and Ive put a lot of time and a lot of hard work in to it. But Ive received a lot of help along the way from coaches and trainers and strength coaches and teammates. So Im very grateful." Manning still has a ways to go to set the record for most All-Pro appearances at any position. Among the players ahead of him is Hall of Fame receiver JerryRice with 10. New Orleans tight end JimmyGraham and Indianapolis outside linebacker RobertMathis each drew 49 votes. Philadelphia running back LeSeanMcCoy and Seattle cornerback RichardSherman had 48. Minnesota kick returner CordarrellePatterson was the only rookie on the squad. Eighteen NFC players and nine from the AFC made the team. Carolina and Philadelphia each had three: linebacker LukeKuechly, centre RyanKalil and fullback MikeTolbert for the Panthers; NFL rushing leader McCoy, guard EvanMathis and tackle JasonPeters for the coach Chip Kellys Eagles. "Just when Chip came here, we knew we were going to run the ball," McCoy said. "The linemen, theyve all been healthy this whole year. Theyve been blocking so well for me and withoout those guys, its not possible. Mike Tolbert Panthers Jersey. " Only two members of the top teams in each conference made the All-Pro team. Joining Manning from the Broncos (13-3) was guard LouisVasquez. Joining Sherman from the Seahawks (13-3) was safety EarlThomas. "It is very special, especially in a special season," Sherman said. "If youre having a special season and your team has four wins or five wins, Im sure it doesnt feel as good. But when your team is winning, your defence is No. 1 in every category and youre just contributing, youre not even trying to do anything special individually, youre just contributing to the entire group. It really feels special. And with the chance to do what we have a chance to do this year, it would be fantastic." Unlike Sherman, many of the players chosen did not enjoy huge team success this season: 12 of the 27 failed to make the playoffs. Rounding out the offence were receivers CalvinJohnson of Detroit and JoshGordon of Cleveland; running back JamaalCharles of Kansas City; and tackle JoeThomas of Cleveland. Other All-Pros on defence were ends J.J.Watt of Houston and RobertQuinn of St. Louis; tackles GeraldMcCoy of Tampa Bay and NdamukongSuh of Detroit; outside linebacker LavonteDavid of Tampa Bay; inside linebacker NaVorroBowman of San Francisco; cornerback PatrickPeterson of Arizona; and safety EricBerry of Kansas City. The special teamers were Patterson, kicker JustinTucker of Baltimore and punter Johnny Hekker of St. Louis. One of 15 first-time All-Pros, Kuechly was last seasons Defensive Rookie of the Year. "Its an individual award, but its a representation of the team," he said. "You got to always remember that you have four guys in front of you. You got the other linebackers, the coaches and the DBs behind you that make everything possible." Overall, 16 clubs were represented on the All-Pro team: Denver, Kansas City, Cleveland, Baltimore, Houston and Indianapolis in the AFC; Philadelphia, Carolina, Seattle, Detroit, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Arizona, Minnesota and San Francisco in the NFC. DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers insisted they were not concerned about their worst skid of the year a few hours before playing the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox in a rematch of the AL championship series. Buccaneers #25 Jersey . Detroit later showed it still has what it takes to win with strong pitching, big hits and usually sound defence. IanKinsler and ToriiHunter hit back-to-back homers in the fifth inning and VictorMartinez cleared the fences in the eighth, helping Detroit beat Boston 6-2 and end a season-high five-game losing streak Friday. "This was a good night for everyone," DrewSmyly said after pitching six strong innings. Detroit had lost 13 of 17 games, including the previous four, since sweeping the Red Sox on the road a few weeks ago. "Ive spoken to players a couple times over this stretch," Tigers manager BradAusmus said. "Theres no reason to throw a fit unless its a lack of effort or concentration. This stretch has not been caused by a lack of concentration or effort." Smyly (3-4) snapped a skid of his own. He was 0-2 in his last two starts, giving up a total of nine runs over nine innings, and was 0-3 in his previous six outings. The left-hander allowed two runs on five hits over six innings and struck out four, walking only one against the Red Sox. "He was locating his pitches and keeping us off balance," Boston centre fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. said after going 0 for 3 with three strikeouts. "He had command on both sides of the plate." RubbyDeLaRosa, meanwhile, paid a steep price for letting some pitches sail too high. De La Rosa (1-1) gave up four runs, nine hits and two walks. He had five strikeouts over 5 2-3 innings. In his first start of the season, he threw seven scoreless innings against Tampa Bay last week. "I feel almost 100 per cent like last time," De La Rosa said. "I just missed more pitches." Boston has lost four straight after winning seven in a row. The Red Sox are averaging fewer than three runs during the losing streak. "Offensively, were scuffling," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "Weve had a rough go with runners in scoring position." The Red Sox hope to end a trend this weekend. In their last seven series, they been swept four times and have won each game in the other three matchups. "We became so accustomed to being consistent," Farrell said. "The last two and a half weeks have been difficult." Kinsler and Hunter cleared the fences during a three-pitch sequence in the fifth, giving the Tigers a 4-1 lead. "They squared (De La Rosa) up when he was up in the strike zone," Farrell said. The Red Sox pulled within two runs in the sixth when DustinPedroia reached on Romines throwing error, advanced to third on DavidOrtizs single through the right side against a shifted infield and scored on JonnyGomes sacrifice fly. Detroits IanKrol and JobaChamberlain each threw an inning of scoreless relief and JoeNathan pitched the ninth in a non-save situation. NOTES: Tigers C AlexAvila is expected to miss Saturdays game after being hit in the head by Ortizs backswing in the eighth inning, and being replaced by BryanHoladay. "Hes in a good humour, but he got stung pretty good," Ausmus said. ... Red Sox hitting coach GregColbrunn is expected to stay hospitalized in Cleveland for at least another week after he had bleeding in the area between his brain and the thin tissues covering it. Tim Hyers, Bostons minor league hitting co-ordinator, is filling in for Colbrunn while hes away from the team indefinitely. ... Tigers SS Eugenio Suarez was held out of the lineup to rest his sore left knee and Ausmus said he is "hour to hour," when asked for timetable on his return. ... The Tigers will send RHP MaxScherzer (6-2) to the mound against Red Sox LHP JonLester (6-6) on Saturday in a nationally televised game. ... Boston RHP ClayBuchholz (left knee) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Saturday in Detroit, where MikeNapoli, who is on the DL with a sprained left finger, is expected to hit against him. Buccaneers #37 Jersey . With the teams skating 4-on-4 and the Rangers taking advantage of a delayed penalty, Brassard took a cross-zone feed from defenceman MarcStaal and fired a shot past EvgeniNabokov to give his team a 2-1 lead. Buccaneers #9 Jersey . Samuel Etoo scored for his fourth different team in Europes top club competition on a night of standout individual performances. However, it was a night to forget for Schalke goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand, whose failed clearance led to Etoos opening goal in Chelseas 3-0 win, which put Jose Mourinhos side atop Group E.PHILADELPHIA -- If this was RoyHalladays last start in red pinstripes, he went out a winner. ChaseUtley hit a three-run homer and drove in four, Halladay tossed six effective innings and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 on Tuesday night. Halladay (4-4) allowed one run and four hits in his fifth start after returning from right shoulder surgery. The two-time Cy Young Award winner didnt top 88 mph and relied on guile to get outs. Halladay will be a free agent after the season and his last two starts will be on the road, so he may not pitch in Philadelphia for the Phillies again. "Unfortunately, thats out of my control," Halladay said. "I honestly didnt think about it. I dont look that far ahead in the schedule." The top three hitters in Philadelphias lineup -- CesarHernandez, JimmyRollins and Utley -- were 8 for 12 with four RBIs and six runs. JonathanPapelbon allowed an RBI single to GiancarloStanton before finishing for his 28th save in 35 chances. Marlins starter BrianFlynn (0-2) gave up six runs and 11 hits in six innings. JuanPierre, pinch-hitting for Flynn in the seventh, hit a double to right for his 2,215th career hit, breaking a tie with Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio for 175th place on the all-time list, according to STATS. "I never set out to beat any of those guys," Pierre said. "I know all about Joe DiMaggio and what he meant to the game. Just to be mentioned with him is pretty cool." The going-nowhere Phillies improved to 18-13 since interim manager Ryne Sandberg replaced Charlie Manuel on Aug. 16. They have won seven straight over the last-place Marlins. Utley hit an RBI single in the first and CarlosRuiz followed with a two-run single for a 3-0 lead. Utley connected off Flynn in the fifth, driving one off the facing of the second deck in right field for his second three-run shot in two games. He has eight RBIs in the last two nights. Halladay improved to 114-0 when hes given a four-run lead, the longest streak since PedroMartinez retireed at 114-0 in similar situations. Buccaneers #23 Jersey. "Doc battled for six innings, he gutted it out," Sandberg said. "He made pitches when he had to and used his defence." Sandberg added that hes optimistic Halladay will improve his velocity after an off-season of rest and workouts. Halladay is finishing his fourth season with the Phillies. EDMONTON - The Edmonton Eskimos say a 20-year-old man has won the largest 50-50 draw in the football clubs history. cheap jerseys from china . The CFL team says Connor Croken of Edmonton presented the winning ticket worth $348,534 when the Eskimos office opened this morning. Tickets were sold during a game Thursday night against the Calgary Stampeders, which the Eskimos lost 26-22. The game drew more than 40,000 people, many of whom stood in line for much of the first half to buy tickets. The draw had grown dramatically when a $71,000 prize from July 11 home game went unclaimed and was carried over. Croken wont have the money for this weekend the club says it will present him with a cheque on Tuesday. The draw is usually made during the game, but because ticket sales were so heavy on Thursday, the team released the winning numbers on its website overnight. wholesale jerseys . ARLINGTON, Texas -- There will be a new coach sitting to the right of Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington during games next season, someone else for him to hug after each victory. The Rangers said Wednesday that they will not renew the contracts of bench coach Jackie Moore, who has been in professional baseball 56 years and at Washingtons side through two World Series, or first base coach Dave Anderson. "These are not decisions we take lightly or make easily," general manager Jon Daniels said. Speaking on a conference call with Daniels, Washington said the decisions were made after "many, many, many" hours in meetings Tuesday, a day after the Rangers finished a 91-win season with a 5-2 loss to Tampa Bay in the AL wild-card tiebreaker game to miss the playoffs for the first time in four years. "As an organization we wanted to move forward in a different direction," said Washington, 611-524 in his seven seasons as the Rangers manager. When speaking to reporters Tuesday, Washington had said he intended on having all of his coaches back in 2014. Moore and Anderson had been on Washingtons staff the past five seasons. Pitching coach Mike Maddux, hitting coach Dave Magadan, third base coach Gary Pettis and bullpen coach Andy Hawkins are all expected to return next season. The 74-year-old Moore was in his fourth stint as a Rangers coach. He began playing professionally in the minor leagues in 1957 after graduating from high school in Houston, though his 11-year playing career included only 21 major league games for Detroit in 11965. nfl jerseys china. What became a normal occurrence after Rangers victories was Washington turning to Moore and the two sharing a hug. They celebrated together after the Rangers won their only two AL championships in 2010 and 2011. "Jackie is a family member of mine and of course Im going to miss him," Washington said. "This is not something that we take lightly. My heart is aching, but as anything else, Im a baseball man and well get through it." Daniels said the organization was working to put together a list of candidates for both positions, and expects to look to people both in and out of the organization. Daniels said the new bench coach doesnt necessarily have to have managerial experience. "I just long for a guys that prepared. ... Looking for a guy thats in synch with me sitting on the bench and my thought processes," Washington said. "Im looking for a guy thats total baseball." Anderson was also the teams infield instructor and was charged with organizing spring training for Washington. He was the third base coach for four seasons before the manager switched Anderson and Pettis on the bases last winter. With Moore gone, will Washington turn and hug his new bench coach after the first victory in 2014? "I really hope so, but that between me and Jackie is something that he and I created," Washington said. "I dont know how Im going to react. But if I react and I decide I want to hug the guy next to me, I hope he welcomes it. If he dont welcome it, then Ill shake his hand." ' ' '

CARDIFF -- Wales cut loose after a first-half red card to Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg to cruise to a seven-try 51-3 win at Millennium Stadium, ending the deposed champions patchy Six Nations campaign in style on Saturday. Donald Driver Packers Jersey . George North and Jamie Roberts helped themselves to two tries each in a record Welsh victory over Scotland, which was never in doubt from the moment Hogg was sent off for a late hit on flyhalf Dan Biggar in the 23rd minute when the score was 10-3. Liam Williams and Taulupe Faletau added further scores to put Wales 39-3 ahead by the 48th minute before the Scots stemmed the tide, conceding just one more try to Rhodri Williams late on. Biggar kicked 14 points. Wales, which started out seeking to win an unprecedented third straight title outright, finished on six points -- with its three victories all coming at home -- and in third place in the standings. Scott Johnson, taking charge of his final match as Scotland coach before being replaced by Vern Cotter this summer, endured a miserable return to Wales -- the country with whom his international coaching career began 12 years ago. It was never going to be a winning end for Johnson from the time Hogg was dismissed, the British Lions tourist leading with his left shoulder and elbow to smash into the face of Biggar. It was a rash challenge, especially since Scotland was under no pressure and Biggar was kicking an up-and-under inside his own half. "I have let people down," Hogg said in a statement. "I have said sorry in person to Dan Biggar. I always try to play hard and fair and what happened today was out of character for me." French referee Jerome Garces initially gave a yellow card to Hogg but changed his mind after seeing a replay on the big screen inside Millennium Stadium. Garces trotted over to the touchline and brandished the red card, with Hogg already off the pitch and getting ready for 10 minutes in the sin-bin. The Welsh had a deserved lead at the time, thanks to fullback Liam Williams left-wing try and a conversion and penalty by Biggar, and were starting to assert their dominance. After that, it was a case of how big the margin of victory would be. Given how the match panned out, it wasnt the ideal platform to assess the performance of a new-look Wales team that featured six changes to the one that started the 29-18 loss to England last weekend. What was not in doubt, however, was the quality of the tries in what, by halftime, turned into an indoor party under the roof. Scores by North and Roberts in the final six minutes of the first half started from the halfway line and were both down the left channel, with debutant Scottish wing Dougie Fife hopelessly outnumbered. Norths second try, less than a minute after the interval, also came down the left as Jonathan Davies sent the hulking winger scampering along the touchline past the beleaguered Fife. The best try of the afternoon belonged to Roberts, who finished off a length-of-the-field move that had its origins from an overthrown lineout by Scotland near Wales line. Williams sprinted 50 metres and the ball went through the hands of Davies and Faletau before Roberts arrived late to crash over. With the score 39-3, the Welsh were already way past their previous biggest margin of victory over the Scots -- 24 points in a 46-22 win in Cardiff in 2005 -- and there was still 32 minutes left. However, the hosts crossed only once more to hit the half century. Scotland finished in fifth place with one win, against bottom-place Italy. Randall Cobb Packers Jersey . Is Montreal Canadiens forward MaxPacioretty being shopped? McKenzie: Absolutely not, according to the Canadiens and their general manager MarcBergevin, but it may be a splitting of hairs because teams in the NHL are calling the Canadiens and asking them about the availability of Pacioretty. Packers #67 Jersey . Jones had to work hard against Korean skip Kim Jisun and didnt hold a lead until the seventh end. Jones, lead Dawn McEwen, second Jill Officer and third Kaitlyn Lawes were 8-0 going into the game and had already clinched a berth in the semifinals. On December 18, the Montreal Canadiens left for Boston with a six game road trip ahead of them. Mostly people who followed the club agreed that the team desperately needed some time away from the city. The Habs had just lost their first game under interim coach Randy Cunneyworth and they were hoping to come together on the road, as well as use the trip as a turning point for the season. Things clearly didnt work out. The Canadiens lost five of six on that trip and have dug themselves a cavernous hole in the standings. They sit in 13th in the East and trail eighth place New Jersey by nine points. The keys to making up ground in the East are threefold. 1. The Habs need to rattle off a series of victories. 2. They must beat teams in regulation, as they cannot afford to have Eastern rivals pick up points in a loss. 3. Montreal will need help from other teams. The good news is the Canadiens pplay five of their next six games at home and wont have to worry about being away from their families, sleeping in hotel beds and dealing with opposing fans. Nick Perry Packers Jersey. The bad news is that the Habs have won only five of 18 at the Bell Centre this year. Tonight, the Canadiens host the Winnipeg Jets for the third time this season. Montreal beat Winnipeg 5-1 in their home opener, but the Jets bounced back a few weeks ago in Winnipeg and shutout the Habs 4-0. The Canadiens had an optional skate this morning and all the regulars were there minus MichaelCammalleri and TomasKaberle. After the skate, head coach Randy Cunneyworth said he told his players to be ready to play tonight. The coach did not divulge his lineup saying every player is a game-time decision. All we do know is that CareyPrice will be in goal for the Habs. You can follow me on Twitter @tonymarinaro. ' ' '

ST. wholesale jerseys . PAUL, Minn. -- RyanSuter had a career-best performance, and the Minnesota Wild made NHL history -- all part of one impressive comeback Saturday night. Suter had Minnesotas first three-goal game by a defenceman, helping the Wild rally for a 5-3 win over AlexOvechkin and the Washington Capitals. Minnesota earned its second straight win despite being outshot 30-11, becoming the first team since the NHL officially began tracking shots on goal in 1973-74 to score five goals on fewer than 12 shots, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Suter completed his first career hat trick with the biggest goal of the game, putting the Wild ahead 5-3 seconds after Minnesota had killed off an opportunity for Washingtons power-play unit, which ranks No. 2 in the NHL. Suter jumped into the play straight out of the penalty box to create a 2-on-1 with ClaytonStoner, and then beat BradenHoltby from the left faceoff circle with 12:23 to play in the third. "I came out of the box and saw some of their guys were changing there and Stony made a great play getting the puck over," Suter said. "I was hoping he was going to pass. I was just hoping I didnt miss the net." Minnesota shut out Ovechkin, the NHLs leading goal scorer with 31. Ovechkin hit the post in the final minute as the Capitals tried to rally from a two-goal deficit. MikeGreen had two goals and MarcusJohansson also scored for the Capitals, who are 1-3-3 in their last seven games. "Were going through a lousy stretch right now where were playing some good hockey and getting some lousy results," Capitals coach AdamOates said. "Eleven shots (allowed) on the road should be good enough. But its not, so we need to find a way to play just a little bit better." Washington controlled the action early on, outshooting Minnesota 11-1 in the first and taking a 2-0 lead with two goals in a 13-second span midway through the period. Johansson pushed a rebound past Minnesota goalie NiklasBackstrom for a power-play goal. Then off the ensuing faceoff, JasonChimera picked up a loose puck at the Minnesota blue line and passed to Green, who made a move around Minnesotas MattCooke and beat Backstrom with a wrist shot from the top of the right faceoff circle. "The first period, I really dont think we couldve scripted that any better," Capitals centre BrooksLaich said. "Two-nothing lead, they have one shot, theyre not in our zone, theyre getting booed off the ice after 20 minutes by their own fans on a Saturday night. Were in total control of that game." But the Wild rallied in the second, thanks to a couple of ill-timed penalties by the Capitals. Suter scored twice on the same power play after the Capitals took two minors in four seconds. He tied the game on a wrist shot from between the circles with the Wild on a 5-on-3 advantage. He then gave Minnesota the lead 42 seconds later when his shot from the same spot on the ice slipped past a screened Holtby, erasing the sour taste left by the games first 20 minutes. "Yeah, first period was terrible," Suter said. "(We) didnt have a lot of energy. We came in here, got yelled at, and went out and played the way we needed to play. (DanyHeatley) did a good job on those two power-play goals. He was in front of the goalie and he couldnt even see the puck. The little things are making the difference." Green caught a break with an odd bounce for his second goal of the night, tying it at 3. Off a faceoff, he flipped the puck off the end boards, but it caromed off Backstroms left skate and into the net. JasonZucker tied it three minutes later with another power-play goal after a second Washington penalty for delay of game when MikhailGrabovski shot the puck into the crowd. "Putting it in the stands - we talk about details all the time and we get two of them tonight and they score on both of them," Oates said. "Its just frustrating in general, for all of us." Minnesota snapped a franchise-record six-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over Buffalo on Thursday. Now it heads West for a road trip with a little momentum after the victory over the Caps. "When you have that consistency in your game, thats when you get consistent results, and so thats our challenge now," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. "We have to come into our next game and we have to be determined to be better than we were tonight." NOTES: Ovechkins assist in the first-period was the 376th of his career, passing Dale Hunter for third place on the Capitals franchise list. ... The Wild put D JaredSpurgeon on the IR with a lower-body injury and recalled RW BrettBulmer from Iowa of the AHL to replace him on the roster. ... RENTON, Wash. Bo Jackson Jersey . -- Wide receiver PercyHarvin could be back to practice later this week for the Seattle Seahawks and is expected to be available for the Super Bowl. Harvin missed Sundays NFC championship game win over San Francisco after suffering a concussion a week earlier in the divisional playoff win over New Orleans. Harvin was not cleared by doctors in time to play against the 49ers. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Harvin could be cleared in time to practice as early as Wednesday. Carroll said that was based on how Harvin was feeling over the weekend, but there were still "a couple of clearances" needed before he could practice. Harvin had three receptions against New Orleans before getting hurt late in the first half. It was the second game of the season for Harvin, who had hip surgery in August. Rod Streater Womens Jersey .J. -- The New York Jets re-signed veteran guard WillieColon to a one-year deal Wednesday. Tyvon Branch Camo Jersey . Baskonia said on Saturday that Odoms personal doctors in New York have ruled him unfit to play for two months, meaning he has "finished his present contract. CHICAGO -- JakePeavy struck out the first two batters of the game Friday in the home opener for the Chicago White Sox. He then waited nearly 10 minutes before throwing his next pitch against the defending AL Central champion Detroit Tigers. The delay? Detroit star MiguelCabrera pointed out to umpires that the batters box was not lined up properly. So the original lines were wiped out and a plate was brought in from centre field to put in some new ones. "It wasnt a big deal," Peavy said. Peavy took a one-hit shutout into the seventh, survived a two-run homer from DelmonYoung and the White Sox beat the Tigers 5-2 Friday in RobinVenturas home debut as manager. "I couldnt tell you how many people were here today. You have to get to that place where its you and (catcher) A.J. (Pierzynski)," Peavy said. "The focus and concentration level will take your game to another level. Thats what the game is, channeling the emotion and adrenaline you have, but at the same time realizing the situation what the count is and that thought process. " Detroit manager Jim Leyland agreed that the rare re-do of the batters box wasnt significant. "It was up too far. It was all right, but it was just up too far, so they had to move the line back," Leyland said. "The batters box was fine but they had moved it up too far, it wasnt in line with the plate the way it was set up, so they just changed it. No big deal." Cabrera declined to discuss the batters box incident that he started. "I dont want to talk about that. We lost," he said. Chicago won, thanks to a couple of stellar defensive plays. DayanViciedo, who made the switch to left field this spring, homered and had a key diving catch and shortstop AlexeiRamirez made a nice stop and flip to start a double play that ended another Detroit rally. With the White Sox ahead 3-0, Peavy walked Cabrera and Youngs two-out, two-run homer finished him in the seventh. AlexAvila singled off reliever WillOhman and JhonnyPeralta followed with a double against AddisonReed before Viciedo made a diving catch of AndyDirks sinking liner to finish the inning. In the eighth, Ramirez made a nice stop on Cabreras grounder and shovelled to second, starting an inning-ending double play after the Tigers had runners at first and third. "These guys were awesome today. The play from Alexei and the play frrom Dayan saved the game ultimately," Peavy said. Tyvon Branch Authentic Jersey. Viciedo hit his first homer with two outs in the fifth to break up a scoreless duel between Peavy and MaxScherzer (0-1). PaulKonerko had an RBI single with two outs in the sixth and then just barely beat the throw home to score on A.J.Pierzynskis triple into the right-field corner, making it 3-0. BrentMorel hit an RBI single for Chicago in the eighth after Young misplayed AlejandroDeAzas fly ball into a triple. Morel eventually scored on a wild pitch by BrayanVillarreal. HectorSantiago pitched the ninth for his third save in as many chances. Peavy, whose stint with Chicago has been since slowed by injuries since coming to the White Sox in a trade with San Diego late in the 2009 season, allowed only two hits. He struck out eight and walked one in 6 2-3 innings. "He has that ace presence on the mound. And I think inside our clubhouse, he does, too," Ventura said. "He no longer has, maybe, the 97 (mph fastball), but as far as location hes stretching it back and forth now, instead of just raring back and throwing it. Hes becoming more comfortable being a pitcher and spotting it, taking a little off here and there. He still knows how to pitch." Peavy retired the first 10 batters before BrennanBoesch singled sharply to right with one in the fourth. Scherzer (0-1), who gave up eight hits and seven runs in just 2 2-3 innings in his first start this season against the Red Sox, was much more effective in his second outing. Scherzer struck out 11, walked one and allowed five hits and three runs in six innings. NOTES: The teams combined to strike out 25 times -- 15 by White Sox batters, including four by AdamDunn. ... RobertoLuongo will looking to erase some painful memories as he leads the Vancouver Canucks against the Bruins tonight. Corey Liuget Jersey . Luongo will be making his first start at the TD Garden since Game 6 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final when he surrenderedthree first period goals in a potential Cup-clinching game for the Canucks. The Canucks will try to avoid matching their longest winless streak of the season on Tuesday night as they visit the Atlantic Division-leading Bruins. The Canucks have lost four straight in regulation, one setback shy of their longest stretch without a win this season done twice before. Vancouver was able to earn some points over those earlier droughts, going 0-3-2 from Nov. 9-19 and 0-2-3 from Dec. 30-Jan. 7. Vancouver is holding on to the eighth spot in the Western Conference by just a single point over the Phoenix Coyotes and were unable to get a spark from the return of both coach John Tortorella and captain HenrikSedin on Monday. Tortorella returned to the bench after serving a 15-day suspension for his actions in a game versus the Calgary Flames on Jan. 18, missing six games. Sedin was absent for each one due to a rib injury that halted his consecutive games played streak at 679 and was held off the scoresheet in last nights 2-0 setback to the Detroit Red Wings. EddieLack made 28 saves in the second contest of a five-game road trip, but Detroit got eight saves from JonasGustavsson in the first period before he exited due to dizziness. JimmyHoward stopped all 16 Vancouver shots he faced the rest of the way. "We cant buy a win right now," Lack said. "Im trying to do my job and keep us in every game. Its tough." After Detroit scored the games first goal early in the second period, DavidBooth was hooked on a breakaway and awarded a penalty shot. However, Howard turned his chance aside to leave the Canucks and Tortorella frustrated. "We need to change the complexion of our hockey club, either with our play or with different people, because we looked like a slow hockey team tonight," noted Tortorella. "Were going to keep on banging away to try and get better, but its very frustrating to see the same looks. It worries me. Ill leave it at that." One change that could happen tonight is the insertion of defenseman RaphaelDiaz into the lineup. He was acquired in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens on Monday for forward DaleWeise. Diaz could make his debut with the Canucks tonight after notching 11 assists and a minus-4 rating in 43 games with the Habs this season. Hell help fill a void on the back end left by injuries to KevinBieksa (foot) and Christopher Tanev (thumb). The Bruins will host the Canucks to close a four-game homestand and are 6-1-1 in their last eight games. That stretch includes a disappointing and lackluster 4-1 loss to Montreal on Thursday, but Boston rebounded to secure a 4-0 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. ChadJohnson made 22 saves in his first shutout of the season and second of his career, while Boston scored three times in the third period to break open a close game. DougieHamilton started the burst 6:43 into the frame before CarlSoderberg and ToreyKrug followed with goals. DavidKrejci also lit the lamp and ZdenoChara added a pair of assists for the Bruins, who posted 19 of their 41 shots in the third period. "Well, I think so -- a much better game tonight in all aspects of it," said Bruins head coach Claude Julien comparing the game to Thursdays loss to Montreal. "Thought that goal by Dougie kind of made everybody relax a little bit more and our game seemed to get better after that too." Boston leads the Tampa Bay Lightning by four points for the top spot in the division and will have Chara in the lineup tonight for the last time before the Olympic break. The hulking defenseman will not play on Thursday in St. Louis or Saturday versus Ottawa as he had earlier been selected to carry Slovakias flag during the Opening Ceremonies on Friday for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. The Bruins have lost three of their last four versus the Canucks, including a 6-2 setback on Dec. 14 that marked the first time the two clubs met in Vancouver since Boston won Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. TuukkaRask got the start for the Bruins, but was pulled early in the second period after allowing four goals on 23 shots. He fell to 0-1-1 with a 3.38 goals against average in his career versus the Canucks. Sedin had a goal and an assist in the victory, while RobertoLuongo posted 39 saves to improve to 12-10-3 in his career versus Boston with a 2.38 GAA and four shutouts. Eric Weddle Chargers Jersey . Louis Cardinals in todays finale of a three-game set at Busch Stadium. Milwaukees Yovani Gallardo came into yesterdays start with an 8.89 earned run average over his past 26 1/3 innings, but carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning and ended up allowing just one hit over eight frames in a 4-0 victory. Ryan Carrethers Chargers Jersey . Ernests Gulbis of Latvia upset defending champion Del Potro 6-3, 6-4. . The Argentine is recovering from a wrist injury and it wasnt clear whether it may have been bothering him. He took a medical time-out after the first set, but decided to continue.Just two weeks after the LA Galaxy lifted the MLS Cup, the Major League Soccer off-season merry-go-round is in full swing and the Vancouver Whitecaps are certainly playing an active role. The Caps kicked off the week by trading goalkeeper Jay Nolly to Chicago Fire in exchange for a first round pick in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft. They also re-signed veteran goalkeeper Joe Cannon and midfielder John Thorrington to new deals. Its no surprise that one of the Whitecaps two goalkeepers has left the club. As new Vancouver Head Coach Martin Rennie looks to strengthen the squad, a starting goalkeeper is probably high up his priority list after a season where Nolly and Cannon split the duties between the posts. It wasnt possible to keep the status quo if the Caps were to upgrade the position and Nolly was the player to depart. Whitecaps fans will remember his contribution fondly. Hes a great character who gave a lot to Vancouver during his four years with the club and was rewarded by twice being named the clubs MVP. Nolly had so many outstanding moments in a Whitecaps jersey during his time with the team, but I will never forget his performance at BMO Field on Canada Day when Vancouver beat Toronto FC 1-0 in the first ever meeting between the two teams. Martin Nash scored from the penalty spot to give the Whitecaps the win in the Canadian Championship on that day, but the victory was every bit as much down to Nollys heroics between the posts. By renegotiating deals with Cannon and Thorrington, the Whitecaps keep two experienced MLS players who have excellent leadership qualities. Cannon is now 36 years old, but the two-time MLS Goalkeeper of the Year still has plenty to offer both on and off the pitch. Thorrington can make a valuable contribution to the Whitecaps midfield although much of that depends on whether he can stay fit. The 32-year-old was restricted to just 740 minutes of action for Vancouver in 2011 due to injuries. Martin Rennie has a busy few weeks ahead as he continues to shape his new-look squad. South Korean defender Lee Young-Pyo arrived in Vancouver on Sunday and is expected to put pen to paper on a deal with the Whitecaps very soon. At 34 years old, Lee Young-Pyo would bring a wealth of experience to a defence that looked shaky throughout the 2011 season. He has played the game at the very highest level, representing his country at the World Cup and spending time with big European clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and PSV Eindhoven. He also brings versatility as he is capable of playing at full back on either side of the pitch. Heading Indoors Toronto FC are close to being able to announce the venue for the home leg of their Champions League Quarter Final against Los Angeles Galaxy next March. Although nothing has been confirmed just yet, Im hearing the game will be moved indoors to the Rogers Centre. De Ro the DP? There seems to have been a shift in philosophy withhin Major League Soccer regarding who can become a Designated Player in the league. Kellen Clemens Chargers Jersey. . New England Revolutions 33 year old midfielder Shalrie Joseph signed a new deal over the weekend and assumed Designated Player status. Less than a year ago when Toronto FCs then captain Dwayne De Rosario stated he wanted to be rewarded for his play by being given a new DP contract, the fact that he had been a long-time player in the league seemed to be a stumbling block between him and that upgraded status. The Designated Player rule was brought in to MLS to allow teams to sign players such as David Beckham who would normally not even consider moving to North America under the confines of the salary cap. The rule has worked because the league is a much better place five years on. I have nothing against Shalrie Joseph being rewarded by New England for his years of service and contribution to their team. However, if Joseph is now an MLS Designated Player, De Rosario is certainly deserving of the status, and other players across the league may also be knocking on the door of their General Manager. The Stage Is Set Following Fridays EURO 2012 Final Draw at the Palace of Arts in Kiev, Ukraine, we now know the match-ups for the Group Stage of the tournament. The gasp from the gathered crowd when Germany was drawn as the final team in Group B was mirrored around the globe. Germanys presence in the group along with the Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal ensures an early exit for a team that would expect to progress. I had the pleasure of sitting with Toronto FC Head Coach Aron Winter and Assistant Coach Bob de Klerk at a dinner last weekend and understandably the two Dutchmen had plenty to say about the draw. Despite the magnitude of the task ahead of the beaten 2010 World Cup finalists, Winter was in confident mood when talking about the Netherlands chances of progressing from the Group Stage without too many problems. de Klerk was also keen to point out that Germanys impressive win over the Dutch in a recent international friendly was just as much down to his countrys poor performance as a quality display from Germany. Toronto FC is a microcosm of the country as a whole when it comes to importance of the European Championships here in Canada and the rivalries that will exist between different cultures for three weeks next June. Take Group B for example. While Winter and de Klerk will be wearing their Orange with pride, their Captain Torsten Frings will be rooting for Germany. Throw in the two members of the front office who are from Denmark and Portugal and it will certainly make for some feisty discussions leading up to the tournament. People across our nation will have more than a passing interest in UEFA EURO 2012 due to the magnificent multiculturalism of this country, and it will be a privilege to bring you all of the action on TSN, TSN Radio and TSN.ca. Roll on June 8th! ' ' '

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -- RoryMcIlroy birdied his last two holes to post a 5-under 67 and lie two shots off the lead two rounds into the Abu Dhabi Championship on Friday. Tyvon Branch Authentic Jersey . At 7 under overall in the European Tour event, McIlroy was rapt to be in contention for a second win in three tournaments. Playing partner PhilMickelson was also happy, though in relief to make the cut by two shots at 1 under with a 70 after a first-round 73. "Im really glad I made the cut and I now have a chance over these next two days, because I kind of keyed in on something with my swing starting to feel much better," Mickelson said. "I really need these two days to get my game in shape." Mickelson was impressed with McIlroys form. "His game looks really sharp and his driving was impeccable," Mickelson said of McIlroy. Tied for the lead were Scotlands Craig Lee (67) and Spains Rafa Cabrera-Bello (68) at 9 under, a stroke ahead of Englands Danny Willett (63), who eagled the par-5 8th hole at National Course beside seven birdies. McIlroy was sharing fourth with Argentinas Ricardo Gonzalez (66) and Denmarks ThomasBjorn (70). He was holding the end-of-2013 form that saw him come from behind and defeat Masters champion AdamScott in the Australian Open in Sydney last month. "Its a great position to be in, as Im only a few off the lead, so Im excited," McIlroy said. He was happy to compare with how he missed the cut a year ago, when he debuted new equipment and left himself and sponsor Nike red-faced. In that humbling display of consecutive 75s were two double bogeys and seven bogeys. "Coming off the last green last year, after 36 holes, I was deflated to say the least," he said. "The week didnt go as how I imagined it or how I planned. But its so much better this year. Im happy with how Im playing. Im striking the ball really well. I got a few putts to drop on the back nine, which was nice. And yeah, I mean, I feel like if I can keep hitting it the way I have been, Ive got a great chance to win in this tournament." While McIlroy won two tournaments ago in Sydney it has been 13 months since his last success on the European Tour when he birdied his closing five holes in winning the season-ending World Tour Championship in nearby Dubai. Cabrera-Bello is also no stranger to winning in the Emirates, having captured the 2012 Dubai Desert Classic. The overnight leader dropped a shot at his last hole, the ninth, to fall into a tie with Lee, who seeks his first win on tour. "I have been practicing hard the last two weeks and trying also to get back into shape, so Im glad that is all paying off," Cabrera-Bello said. Sio Moore Raiders Jersey . Defending champion Marin Cilic also reached the semifinals -- his fourth in Zagreb -- defeating fellow Croat Ivan Dodig. German qualifier Bjorn Phau beat Dudi Sela of Israel to reach his first semifinals in nearly five years. Haas secured a place in his first semifinals since winning Vienna last October, beating Kuznetsov 7-6 (6), 6-4. Both players kept their serve very solid during the first set and not a single game went to deuce. Kuznetsov saved two set points before losing the first set, but Haas broke in the opening game of the second set and kept the advantage, having to save two break points leading 2-1. "Winning the first set in the tie breaker was very important for the momentum," Haas said. This is the 13th career tournament for Haas being the top seed, but he has never reached the finals. After reaching the quarterfinals for the first time at any ATP event, the British No. 2, Evans, went one step further Friday ousting Kohlschreiber 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. Evans had stepped in after Radek Stepanek withdrew from the tournament with a heeel strain. Derek Carr Black Jersey. Evans has won three matches in the main draw and is now the first British player other than Andy Murray who reached the semifinals on a tour-level tournament since James Ward reached the last four at Queens Club in London in 2011. "Its nice to be consistent. This is a good achievement," said Evans, who will face Haas in the semis. Fifth-seeded Cilic, who triumphed in Zagreb in 2009, 2010 and 2013, converted four out of five break points to beat fourth-seeded Dodig 7-5, 6-4 in just 92 minutes. Cilic now has an 18-1 record in the last five attempts here. Cilic started strong, leading 5-2 in the first set, before Dodig appeared to fight back winning three games in a row. But Cilic soon broke again before closing the first set. Things turned around briefly in the second set, when Dodig was up 2-1 with a serve, but Cilic broke back immediately. Proving to be too strong for his opponent, Cilic converted his second match point with a great passing shot. "There were some ups and downs on both sides. Some great shots and some wrong decisions," Cilic said. Cilic will face Phau, who beat Sela of Israel 6-4, 6-3. Sela won the three opening games, but Phau came back to win 10 of the next 12. Phau last played an ATP semifinal in Houston in 2009. ' ' '

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. jerseys from china . -- Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander PatrickCorbin has a partially torn ligament in his left elbow that may require season-ending surgery. Corbin said Sunday said he has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament and is getting a second opinion with noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews before deciding whether to try to rehab the injury or have surgery. "This all new to me," he said. "Ive never been hurt before, so Im just trying to get through it." Corbin had been designated the teams opening day starter against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Australia, but left Saturdays game against Cleveland in the seventh inning with forearm stiffness. He was 14-8 with a 3.41 ERA and made the All-Star team as a rookie last season. "Its a big blow to the individual that hes going through this," manager Kirk Gibson said. "As a team, weve all prepared for him to be a part of it. ... We didnt see anything coming." Gibson said left-hander WadeMiley will start Saturdays opener. Corbin said he had experienced minor tightness in the arm but the condition grew more serious with his final three pitches on Saturday "It felt like a small little shock in there. Nothing popped in there, just a different feel I wasnt used to, just really uncomfortable." Corbin, who barely made the 2013 opening day roster, had a sensational start to last season, opening 9-0 and making the All-Star team. He struggled down the stretch, though, pitching a longer season than he ever had experienced. Now, at age 24, Corbin faces the biggest challenge of his career. "Theres only two options," he said, "taking six weeks off, (then) rehabbing for six weeks, or having Tommy John." General manager Kevin Towers said there were three "in-house" candidates to join the rotation -- top prospect ArchieBradley, right-hander RandallDelgado and JoshCollmenter, who normally is the long reliever. Corbin returned this season as the No. 1 starter, anointed early by Gibson to go in the opener. He had made an off-season trip to Australia to promote the game. Gibson said there will be plenty of time on the long flights to and from Australia to discuss the situation. Corbin said he has talked to teammates DanielHudson and MattReynolds about how to deal with the injury. Both are recovering from the same surgery that Corbin may have. Hudson needed a second operation. Reynolds said he knows how Corbin is feeling. "Its probably one of the low points in your career," Reynolds said. "Its a major, serious injury and youre at the very beginning thinking its going to be a long time. Its a tough day. Theres a million things going through your mind." Miley, who wasnt even scheduled to make the Australia trip, was the obvious choice to replace Corbin, Gibson said. Miley was 10-10 with a 3.55 ERA last season after going 16-10 as a rookie in 2012. "Obviously you never want to see anything like that happen to any of your teammates," Miley said. "Its unfortunate. Hes a big part of this team. .. But I guess its something youve got to deal with, and you move on." cheap nfl jerseys . OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Thunder point guard RussellWestbrook will miss the first 4-6 weeks of the NBA season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Tuesday. wholesale jerseys . General Manager Sam Presti said the three-time All-Star had knee swelling that would not subside, and the procedure was intended to solve the problem. He said doctors determined that a loose stitch was to blame for the swelling, that Westbrooks lateral meniscus has healed properly and the procedure was successful. "Russell has been incredible in his work and rehabilitation," Presti said. "His performance levels have been tremendous, and hes looked great in the part of practice that hes been cleared to go through. So, we were very, very encouraged in that respect. But when the swelling wasnt subsiding, we made the decision to have the knee evaluated." Westbrook also had surgery in May to repair cartilage in his right knee after he was hurt in Game 2 of Oklahoma Citys first-round playoff series with Houston. He had had never missed a game in his five NBA seasons before the injury. Westbrook averaged 23.2 points and 7.4 assists per game last season, but he wound up watching the Thunders second-round playoff exit to Memphis from the bench. Westbrook was hurt on April 24 when Rockets rookie PatrickBeverley lunged for a steal as Westbrook stopped to call a timeout in the second quarter of Game 2. He remained in the game and it wasnt until two days later that the team announced hed miss the rest of the playoffs. Beverley has said he wasnt trying to hurt anyone and was simply trying to make a play. Last week, Westbrook said once hes fully recovered, he doesnt plan on changing anything about his playing style, including his ability to drive to the basket. Oklahoma City needs offensive help alongside KevinDurant and Westbrook following the departure of KevinMartin, who averaged 14 points per game last season. Some of the offence is expected to be picked up by third-year guard ReggieJackson, who averaged 13.9 points in the playoffs after averaging just 5.3 during the regular season. Also, forward SergeIbaka returns after averaging 13.2 points per game last season. Presti said losing Westbrook in the early going was worth it for the peace of mind. "Of course, both from the standpoint wed like to have him on the floor as soon as possible, but in this case, although we lose a little bit of time, we gained a tremendous amount of confidence in the actual progression and recovery process of the knee itself," he said. cheap jerseys from china . Amarista celebrated his 25th birthday by delivering a go-ahead, three-run homer in the seventh inning to lift the San Diego Padres to a 4-2 victory over the Miami Marlins on Sunday. cheap jerseys . There is some potential on offence but overall the roster doesnt have enough talent to get excited about in 2013. Maybe QB JakeLocker makes the leap in his third year in the league, but Tennessees fortunes are still tied more closely to Johnson at running back, who will need to return to CJ2K for the Titans to have any chance at the playoffs this season. BOSTON -- DavidKrejci scored a second-period power-play goal and ChadJohnson made 22 saves for his second career shutout and the Boston Bruins earned a 4-0 victory over the last-place Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Krejcis 12th goal of the season at 2:06 of the second period was enough for the Bruins to win for the sixth time in their past eight games and maintain the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. DougieHamilton, CarlSoderberg and ToreyKrug scored in the third for Boston. JaromeIginla and ZdenoChara each had two assists. Johnson started in place of TuukkaRask, who was pulled during Thursdays loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Edmonton goalie BenScrivens was coming off a scintillating performance against San Jose on Wednesday, when he set the NHL regular-season record for saves in a regulation shutout with 59 during the Oilers 3-0 win over the Sharks. Scrivens made 37 saves on Saturday. He kept them in the game again Saturday, but Edmonton had its three-game winning streak end. Acquired from Los Angeles on Jan. 15, Scrivens stopped all nine shots he faced in the first. But just 26 seconds into the second period, with the Oilers breaking out of their zone, Scrivens was penalized for tripping BradMarchand just ouutside the crease, setting up Bostons third power play of the game. wholesale nfl jerseys. Scrivens scrambled from side to side midway through the man advantage, denying a pair of doorstep rebounds, but his shutout run ended at 126 minutes, 41 seconds when Krejcis shot from above the right circle was deflected into the net by Edmontons RyanNugent-Hopkins. Hamilton netted his sixth of the season at 6:43 of the third when he scooped up his own rebound behind the net and swiftly slipped it past Scrivens right leg. Soderberg added his eighth of the season at 13:05 on a wrister that sailed over Scrivens glove, and Krugs 12th of the season came on a power play with 4:18 to play off an assist from Chara. NOTES: Veteran defenceman MarkFraser made his Edmonton debut after being acquired from Toronto for two prospects Friday. ... The Bruins won their 12th straight against the Oilers, their longest active stretch versus any opponent. Bostons last loss came on Oct. 17, 2000. ... Captain AndrewFerence, who signed with the Oilers as a free agent during the off-season, made his return to Boston after spending seven seasons with the Bruins, helping the team win the 2011 Stanley Cup. Ference received a standing ovation when shown on the scoreboard during a first-period timeout. ' ' '

CHAPEL HILL, N. Fred Jackson Womens Jersey .C. -- Marcus Paige and his North Carolina teammates have endured so many wild swings -- big wins, surprising losses, NCAA drama -- that no one can blame their Hall of Fame coach for wondering whats next. And yet, a month after sitting at 0-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Tar Heels are surging after a rousing comeback against their fiercest rival that had their fans rushing to midcourt to celebrate when it was over. Paige scored all 13 of his points in the second half, including two big baskets in the final 2 1/2 minutes, to help UNC beat No. 5 Duke 74-66 on Thursday night for their eighth straight win. Senior Leslie McDonald added a season-high 21 points for the Tar Heels (19-7, 9-4 ACC), who rallied from 11 points down in the second half to beat the Blue Devils (21-6, 10-4) in a rivalry game postponed more than a week by a winter storm. It was by far North Carolinas most impressive win during its run. Before Thursday, most had come against teams standing sixth or lower in the ACC standings. "Im not going to say were a finished product because weve got games left," Paige said, "but man, were playing really well right now and were winning games in a lot of different ways." It marked UNCs third win against a top-five team this season, along then-No. 1 Michigan State and then-No. 3 Louisville. Throw in then-No. 11 Kentucky in December, and the Tar Heels have beaten the top four teams from The Associated Press preseason Top 25. Not bad for a team that never had top player P.J. Hairston due to NCAA violations for improper benefits. "It was a bunch of guys that fought really hard," coach Roy Williams said, "and I couldnt be prouder of my team than I am right now." After filling the entire court after the horn, thousands of fans mobbed Franklin Street on the north end of campus to continue a celebration that came eight days later than they had hoped due to last weeks winter storm. The storm brought enough snow and ice to paralyze area roads and kept Dukes bus from even making it to Durham to pick up the team for the 11-mile drive to the Smith Center in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels made it worth the wait for their fans by being tough enough to wrestle control from the Blue Devils. They shot 50 per cent from the field after halftime and even made their last 10 free throws after a disastrous start at the line. Jabari Parker and Quinn Cook both scored 17 points for Duke, which led 51-40 with about 15 minutes left before going ice cold from the field. The Blue Devils missed 13 straight shots and went scoreless for 6 minutes at one point, helping the Tar Heels climb back in it by mixing a 1-3-1 zone with man defence. "They would just keep switching," Cook said. "Wed come down, and we wouldnt know what theyd be in. They kept us on our toes with their defence." Duke shot 36 per cent (11 for 31) after halftime and made 5 of 22 3-pointers for the game, Coach Mike Krzyzewski said he thought his team "played young" in the second half. "We looked tired or we didnt have life," Krzyzewski said. "And no matter what we did in a timeout, we just didnt have that spark -- the anger, the emotion, the thing you have to have to match what their crowd, their team is doing. You have to try to counter that. And I just felt we were, we didnt have the life that you needed to have." Paige provided plenty of that fight for the Tar Heels. After being hounded by Duke defenders Cook and Rasheed Sulaimon through his scoreless first half, he scored nine points in the final 5 1/2 minutes starting with his only 3-pointer of the night. McDonald hit the go-ahead jumper to make it 62-60 with 3:54 left, capping his own strong performance after two straight 1-for-8 shooting performances. Paige followed with a stepback jumper over Rodney Hood with 2:11 left, then answered Parkers free throws by driving for a scooping layup through the heart of Dukes defence. After Sulaimon missed a 3 on the ensuing possession, freshman Nate Britt followed with two free throws that pushed the lead to 68-62 with 46.2 seconds left and soon had the rowdy home crowd inching closer to the court. It marked the 11th time Paige has scored in double figures in the second half this season after scoring four or fewer in the first. The postponement created a four-games-in-eight-days stretch for both teams, though its particularly challenging for Duke with No. 1 Syracuse visiting Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday night in a rematch of the overtime classic won by the Orange earlier this month. UNC hosts Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon. Anthony Dixon Youth Jersey . -- Minnesota Vikings cornerback ChrisCook has been fined $26,250 for contact with an official, per NFL guidelines. EJ Manuel Authentic Jersey . But experts say the smart approach for a team that signs the leagues first openly gay athlete -- from a marketing and public relations standpoint -- is to simply let Sams on-field play speak for him and his team.Julia Mancuso gave herself a shot to win yet another Olympic medal on Monday morning in Sochi, taking the lead in womens super-combined after the first of two runs. Mancuso stayed true to her reputation as a skier who rises to the occasion in big events, crossing nearly a half-second faster than all other competitors in the downhill run at Rosa Khutor. Mancusos time was one minute, 42.68 seconds. The Reno, Nev., native has three career Olympic medals, including a silver in the super-combi at the Vancouver Olympics. The 29-year-old has struggled this season, with her last World Cup podium in March 2013, . She will now hope to fend off skiers who are better in the slalom, in a run that will take place at 6 a.m. ET. At the very least, shes laid claim to top contender status for Wednesdays downhill. The rest of the top 5 after the first run inncludes some of the best womens skiers of recent years: Lara Gut of Switzerland is in second, followed by Tina Maze of Slovenia, Anna Fenninger of Austria, and defending Olympic champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany. Leodis McKelvin Black Jersey. Nicole Hosp of Austria, 2006 Olympic silver medallist in the slalom, still has a shot at the podium after an eighth place showing in the downhill. Marie-Michle Gagnon, the lone Canadian in the event, sits in 21st place. Gagnon generally does not compete in the downhill during the World Cup season. She has four top 5 finishes in the slalom within the past year, and will need that kind of performance in the second run and some breaks elsewhere to be a factor. The 24-year-old Lac-Etchemin, Que., native won a super-combined event in January, but it was comprised of a super-G and slalom. ' ' '

TORONTO The difference was as simple as special teams on this night. Charles Sims Buccaneers Jersey . The ongoing funk on penalty kill and an unusually quiet night on home ice for the power play divided the Leafs from the Bruins at the ACC in a rare Sunday night affair. Theres a responsibility thats borne out by special teams in tonights hockey game, said Randy Carlyle after the 5-2 loss to Boston, which snapped a brief two-game win streak. Combative with their top rival for much of the 60 minutes, the Leafs were ultimately undone by both special team units. Their once prideful penalty kill allowed two more power play goals falling to fifth-worst overall while a typically potent man advantage stood empty in four chances. Our PK just let us down again, said JayMcClement after the loss. Its a huge momentum builder for us and right now its going the other way. Its killing our momentum. Up 1-0 on the Bruins after a period on a goal from PeterHolland the Leafs veered off the road when penalties to CarterAshton and CarlGunnarsson struck early in the middle frame. Boston scored twice in less than two minutes with the consecutive power plays, momentum spiraling downward in rapid order for the Leafs. It was bang-bang, said Carlyle. All of a sudden they score two goals and the life went out of our hockey club. The Bruins scratched out another marker at even-strength late in the period, a puck from rookie KevanMiller squeezing through the pads of JonathanBernier. And though they would claw back to cut the deficit to 3-2 on McClements first of the year, the Leafs failed to score with consecutive man advantage opportunities in the third. We made a few mistakes on our penalty kill and thats the difference against top teams, said a terse DionPhaneuf. At equal with the Atlantic division-leading Bruins for the most part at even-strength the shots were 32-25 in Bostons favour the failure on special teams proved disappointing, especially in light of the daunting schedule that lays ahead. The Leafs clash with the Kings, Blues, Blackhawks and Penguins over the next week, clutching just two regulation victories in their past 17 games. Five Points 1. Penalty Killing Funk Countering the effects of a potent Toronto power play (more below) is an increasingly ineffective penalty kill, one that surrendered two more goals to the Bruins on Sunday night. The unit, now stumbling at just 77 per cent, has allowed an astounding 13 goals over the past eight games at least one in all eight and two or more in five of the past 10. Our penalty kill is something that definitely needs work, said JakeGardiner, the 23-year-old leading the Leafs with over 25 minutes against the Bruins. Youve seen that in the past few games or even weeks I guess so its something we need to work on. Simple mistakes were punished. The Leafs failed to clear pucks on each of the two Boston power play goals; DionPhaneuf moments before the first marker from CarlSoderberg, MasonRaymond shortly before the second from ToreyKrug, a blast that ricocheted off the shin-pad of Gardiner. Those two specifically came back to haunt us, said Carlyle. His team has allowed a league-leading 28 power play goals this season. 2. More Penalty Kill Carlyle slightly altered the composition of the penalty kill in the past couple games, cutting down on the minutes of the increasingly over-worked JamesvanRiemsdyk while inserting rookie JerryDAmigo, a mainstay for years on the Marlies typically strong unit. Personnel aside, the confidence of a group that finished as the leagues second-best last season has simply vanished in recent weeks. I think when were going really good with it last year and then the start of this year we had almost a swagger when we went out there, said McClement. We expected to kill it and we were all working together. And right now were just making tiny little mistakes and it seems like we just cant get away with anything so we have to correct those [mistakes]. Not helping matters much either is the amount of penalties taken. The Leafs have earned more power play opportunities than their opponent in just one of the past nine games. 3. A Little Depth The Leafs entered the night with 83 per cent of their offence emerging from just seven different sources, but against the Bruins they finally managed to find some depth. Energizing the fourth line and later moved up to the third unit PeterHolland scored his second goal with the Leafs, setting up McClement with his first this season in the third. Obviously weve been relying on our big guys pretty much completely all year, said McClement, who has just three points all season after posting 17 in 48 games last season. Its huge if we can get contributions from the rest of us and take the weight off our big boys a little bit. 4. Power Play Right up there with goaltending, the Toronto power play has been a consistent hub of success so far this season. Though it came up empty against the Bruins, the unit still ranks third-best in the NHL through 31 games. We work on it a lot and we focus on trying to execute cleanly, said CodyFranson prior to the game, the 26-year-old leading the team with 11 power play points. When you can do that it enables things to speed up a little bit and its harder to defend as a penalty kill. Just movement, lots of traffic, timely goals, said NazemKadri, asked whats made it effective to date. Theres a few things that have been contributing; the way we bring the puck up the ice to set up the power play. Its definitely been working for us and one of our strengths of the year. But weve got to keep going and weve got to keep putting pucks to the net. Sometimes maybe we get a little too cute and sometimes were just better off just looking for those bang-in rebounds around the crease. Especially potent on home ice save Sunday the Leafs have clicked on 31.9 per cent of their power plays at the ACC, tops in the league this season. Of note is the limited number of penalties drawn, just 97 on the year, seventh-fewest in the NHL. 5. Critical Areas Harping on the need to cut down on goals against from the critical areas, Carlyle was bothered by the various locations of the Bruin markers on Sunday. The disappointing part for us as a coaching staff is where the goals are scored from, he said. We have got to have better coverage in those areas. If they score them from the outside those are going to happen Its where theyre scoring the goals from is the most important thing for us to attend to right away. After yielding 50 shots in consecutive wins against Dallas and Ottawa, the Leafs allowed a comparatively scant 39 on Sunday night against Boston. Stats-Pack 13 Power play goals against the Leafs in the past eight games. 8 Consecutive games in which the Leafs have allowed at least one power play goal. 25:21 Ice-time for JakeGardiner, leading the Leafs against the Bruins. 28 Power play goals against the Leafs this season, most in the NHL. 14-19 JayMcClement in the faceoff circle against the Bruins. 32-25 Shots advantage for Boston at even-strength. 3 Points for PeterHolland in nine games with the Leafs. It went down to overtime for the second year in a row. Mason Foster Buccaneers Jersey .J. -- The New York Jets re-signed veteran guard WillieColon to a one-year deal Wednesday.EDMONTON -- If adversity reveals character, TaylorHall is making a bold statement about his willingness and ability to lead at a time when the Edmonton Oilers need him most. The injury-riddled club is mired in a stretch that has seen them win just twice in their last 13 games, but the 20-year-old former two-time Memorial Cup champion and MVP is doing what he can to shake his team from its slump. After scoring five goals during a seven-game stretch on the road in which the Oilers won just once, Hall was easily Edmontons best player in Wednesdays 2-1 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils. Beaten again, but not beaten down. "I expect a lot out of myself," Hall said Thursday. "No matter whats going on around you, you always want to worry about your own game and how youre playing. "From there, you focus on how you can help the team as best you can. Im just trying to play the best I can so help out my linemates and the team. We come to each game with a fresh mindset. We dont worry about the last one. We try to win the next one. I think every player on the team is doing their best." Injuries to JordanEberle and rookie RyanNugent-Hopkins during the trip have left the Oilers without their top two scorers. Eberle is out for two to three weeks with a sprained right knee, while Nugent-Hopkins will be gone until the NHL all-star break with a shoulder injury. Defencemen TomGilbert, RyanWhitney and CamBarker are also out. Enter Hall, a man on a mission against the Devils who fired five shots at JohanHedberg, assisted on AlesHemskys 1-1 goal, set up a half-dozen scoring chances and logged 23:10 of ice time for coach Tom Renney against New Jersey. "Id like to think thats symbolic of our team," Renney said of Hall elevating his game during a frustrating stretch. "Hes certainly one of those guys who leads the way with that whole approach. "This is a fabulous player. A huge passion to play and very driven. I just love that. Thats so much about what we need to be moving forward." Hall has 14 goals and 30 points in the 34 games season. Seven of his goalss have come in the 12 games hes played since he returned to action after missing seven contests with a shoulder injury.Buccaneers #97 Jersey. "You cant really worry about the situation youre in," said Hall, who won two Memorial Cups with the OHLs Windsor Spitfires. "You have to treat every game like a new game and go out and play it. "You play it the very best you can, the most desperate you can. You try to be consistent every night because thats what your teammates want and expect out of you." Without Eberle, who has 43 points, and Nugent-Hopkins, who leads NHL rookies in scoring with 35 points and has been named to participate in the rookie skills competition at the all-star game, Hall is playing on a line with SamGagner and Hemsky. "Its a big lift for everyone when you see a guy who goes out there like that and just plays fearless," Gagner said. "We can learn a lot from him in that regard. It doesnt seem like worries about negative things happening or is scared of anything. "He just goes out there and plays the game the way its meant to be played." Like Hall, Gagner has been playing his best hockey despite the lack of team success. He had a five-game point streak snapped against the Devils. "He plays with passion and hes obviously got a lot of skill to go with it," said Gagner. "Its a lot of fun to watch and a big lift for our team. If we can continue to follow guys like him, were going to have some success here soon." While the Oilers picked up a point against the Devils, theyve lost four straight games as they prepare to face the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. "I dont recall any of these games, other than the last period in Long Island, where we quit at all," Renney said. "Im not suggesting we quit then. We just had one of those nights. We had four posts or something like that. "Id like to think our team is sort of taking on that look, too. Maybe we do have others in our dressing room who need to learn how to sustain that and continue to pursue it, but its sure nice to have that example. Certainly, Taylor is all about that." ' ' '
