LONDON -- Arsenal has signed South Korea captain Park Chu-young from Monaco. Albert Pujols Jersey . The 26-year-old striker scored 25 goals in 91 appearances during three seasons in France. Park says "it is a dream to be here and I am really proud to be an Arsenal player. Now I just want to show how good I am and prove myself." Arsenal says the deal is subject to the completion of the registration processes and he will have J. Y. Park on the back of his No. 9 shirt as he prefers to be known as "Ju." Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker and Fenerbahce left back Andre Santos has also been linked with moves to Arsenal. Arsene Wengers side has collected just one point from its first three league matches and was routed 8-2 by Manchester United on Sunday. Rod Carew Angels Jersey . -- San Francisco 49ers linebacker AhmadBrooks was fined $15,570 by the NFL on Wednesday for his hit on Saints quarterback DrewBrees last Sunday. David Freese Jersey . Police leaflets seen by an Associated Press reporter at a central Sochi hotel on Tuesday contain warnings about three potential suicide bombers. A police letter said that one of them, Ruzanna Ibragimova, a 22-year-old widow of an Islamic militant, was at large in Sochi.AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Kevin Harvick had a nice send-off with Richard Childress Racing, winning his penultimate race with the team at Phoenix International Raceway. Back at Phoenix four months later, he stamped his arrival at Stewart-Haas Racing by winning the second race with his new team -- doing it on the same weekend he celebrated his 13th wedding anniversary, no less. Yeah, Harvick kind of likes it here in the desert. Disappointed at the Daytona 500 after a last-lap crash, Harvick bounced back quickly by charging to the front and dominating the rest of the way Sunday to win consecutive races at PIR with different teams. "Man, this is awesome," Harvick said. Harvick won the fall race after Carl Edwards ran out of fuel at the white flag. He needed no help Sunday. Harvick had the fastest car in practice and kept it rolling in the race, charging to the front after starting 13th and pretty much staying there. He led 224 of 312 laps on the odd-shaped mile oval and pulled away on several late restarts for his fifth NASCAR Sprint Cup victory at PIR, passing Jimmie Johnson for the most at the track. Not bad for someone whos still trying to feel his way around with a new team and new crew chief Rodney Childers. "It took long enough," SHR co-owner Gene Haas joked. "This phenomenal. I think there was a lot of skepticism last year about what myself and Tony (Stewart) what we were up to, was there a lot of madness to this. Quite frankly, its a great team, theres a lot of synergy at the shop, people working together. I dont know what we did, but I think we put together a great organization." Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished second, pole sitter Brad Keselowski was third and Penske Racing teammate Joey Logano fourth. Jeff Gordon rounded out the top five on a warm and partly cloudy day after downpours wiped out the final 32 laps of Saturdays Nationwide race, won by Kyle Busch Harvick won at Phoenix during the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship in the fall, giving him an outside shot at catching Johnson for the series title in his final season with Richard Childress Racing. He came up short, but the victory and a third-place finish in the standings gave him a bit of momentum heading into for his first season with Stewart-Haas. Harvick had a solid finish in his sights at Daytona last week before a last-lap crash dropped him to 13th. At Phoenix, Haarvick just missed the final stage of knockout qualifying, nipped by 0.Jered Weaver Angels Jersey. 001 seconds, but had the fastest car in Saturday mornings final practice session. He had no trouble making his way through the field after the green flag dropped in the race, passing Keselowski on the apron, then Logano for the lead on lap 74. Harvick maintained the lead coming out of green-flag pit stops with just under 200 laps left and again with about 70 laps left. A series of cautions came out late in the race and Harvick easily pulled away each time to earn a quick win with SHR a nice capper to his anniversary weekend with wife DeLana. "Im just the lucky guy who gets to drive around the race track when they have dialed in like they did today," Harvick said. "We were able to put it altogether." Earnhardt had a whirlwind week after winning his second Daytona 500, needing his girlfriend to get him extra clothes while he went on a media tour. He had a solid follow-up, putting the distractions aside to qualify fifth. Earnhardt worked his way up in the opening third of the race, passing Logano and Keselowski to pull up behind Harvick. He dropped back a couple times and fought back to get Harvick within his sights again, but didnt have enough to track him down. "Ive got to congratulate Kevin. Those guys were two-tenths faster than everyone all weekend in practice. They were just phenomenal," Earnhardt said. "To be able to run with them all day was a big confidence builder for us." NASCARs new knockout qualifying system made its Sprint Cup debut at Phoenix and Keselowski came out on top, edging Logano for his fourth career pole. Not long after that, Keselowski found out he would be without his crew chief for the race; Paul Wolfe left the desert back to North Carolina for the birth of his first child. With team engineer Brian Wilson and its Nationwide Series competition director Greg Erwin at the helm, Keselowski ran near the front all day, but, like everyone else, didnt have the speed to keep up with Harvick. "They beat everybody before they came to the track today," Keselowski said. "Its a great combination. They were prepared for the weekend. To me, Randy Childers is like a rubber-stamp, carbon-copy of Paul Wolfe. Hes a great crew chief and it was just a matter of time before he found a combination that he excelled with." cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

PHILADELPHIA -- After playing some of their best hockey this month, the Philadelphia Flyers now sit and wait. Adidas Tech Super Leopard . Or take a relaxing vacation somewhere warm. BraydenSchenn and ScottHartnell scored, RayEmery stopped 32 shots and the Flyers beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Saturday for their fourth straight victory. With momentum going their way, its not an ideal time for Philadelphia to take 18 days off for the Olympic break. Five players are headed to Sochi to play for their countries and several others are headed to sunny destinations. "We knew this was going to happen," Schenn said. "Its up to us to keep in shape and be ready when we come back." Flyers chairman Ed Snider expressed his disdain for the break Thursday night, saying "its ridiculous. Theres no benefit to us whatsoever." Players werent quite that vocal. "Im going to relax mentally and make sure Im ready for the second half," captain ClaudeGiroux said. Making his first start since Jan. 23, Emery had a shutout going until MattStajan scored with 2:26 left. The Flyers are one point behind the New York Rangers for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Despite winning six of their past eight games, the Flames are tied for the third-fewest points in the NHL. "I think weve been playing good hockey. Weve been in every game," Stajan said. "Sometimes the hockey gods dont reward you, and thats not to say they didnt play well. They had chances, too, that our goalie made some saves. Thats the game. Well take this break, come back, and try and get back at it on home ice." The teams resume their regular-season schedule Feb. 27. Schenn gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead in the second period when he ripped a shot from the left circle off goalie RetoBerras glove and into the net. WayneSimmonds set it up with a nice pass from the side of the net. Hartnell made it 2-0 early in the third when he scored his 15th goal, deflecting a slap shot by Giroux. Passed over by Team Canada for the Olympics, Giroux has been one of the leagues top players the past two months. He has 37 points in 29 games since Dec. 11. Giroux still plans to watch the Winter Games and root for Canada. "Its a great event and good hockey," he said. Forwards MichaelRaffl and JakubVoracek, and defencemen KimmoTimonen, AndrejMeszaros and MarkStreit are the Flyers heading to the Olympics. Berra and defenceman LadislavSmid are the only Flames going. "I think the team is getting comfortable with the way we are expected to play," Emery said. "I think the rest of the year is not so much easier, but you get into the playoff battles and you get those competitive juices flowing. I think the tough part is out of the way, the tough months are normally January and February and it gets a bit long." The Stormers say the 25-year-old from Fredericton will be available for seven regular-season games for them in the Super 15 and goes straight onto the bench for Saturdays home match against the Cheetahs.. Adidas Zx 700 Dames. Sinclair has 25 Test caps for Canada and played at last years World Cup in New Zealand. Injuries to Burger, Vermeulen and Koster have left the fourth-place Stormers struggling at loose forward for the final part of the season. TORONTO The punishment would seem to be worth the toll it takes on the body of 31-year-old TimGleason. cheap jerseys from china . "I shouldnt even say anything," said Gleason with a touch of good humour after the latest Leafs win, "but Ill knock on some wood because the pucks are hitting me. Id rather them hit me than go in the net or have (the goaltender) save 75 shots or whatever the case is." "I guess its being in the right spot or sometimes I think its the worst spot to be." Seemingly numb to the physical destruction his play seems to entail, Gleason blocked five more shots on Thursday night, also dolling out six hits in nearly 24 minutes a team-high en route to his teams eighth win in the past 10 games (8-1-1), a 6-3 topping of the Panthers at home. A hard and even nasty presence on a defence that lacked such an element previously, Gleason has been a welcome addition in Toronto, finding a new lease on life with the Maple Leafs. "Gleas has been a guy thats come in and been a heart and soul guy for us," said head coach Randy Carlyle after the win against Florida. "Blocking shots, physical, hard to play against thats his game. And we dont expect him to do anything more." Just as hed hoped when waiving his no-trade clause to come to Toronto, Gleason has quickly re-energized his career with the Leafs. A member of the US Olympic team in 2010, he was averaging less than 16 minutes for the Hurricanes before being dealt for John-MichaelLiles and a prospect earlier this month. Grappling hold of minutes that previously went to the struggling duo of PaulRanger and MarkFraser, Gleason, averaging more than 19 minutes, has offered precisely the type of defensive force the Leafs, and more specifically Carlyle, have been searching for. The physical toll hes absorbed in his brief tenure as a Leaf has, at times, been almost excruciating to watch. Notable were the two bruising shots he blocked to protect a one-goal lead and eventual victory in Boston earlier this month. Earlier this week, in a win over Tampa, he endured one painful puck to the nether regions, another to the face, later sustaining a thunderous check into the end-boards by TeddyPurcell, one that briefly injured his left shoulder, but apparently did little to affect his status for this most recent game against the Panthers. "Hes an animal that guy," NazemKadri said of the Clawson, Michigan native. "Hell stand in front of anything. Thats important for a team to have, those defencemen, those players who would do anything for the team and thats exactly what Timmy is." Five Points 1. Success at Home Thursday marked the fifth consecutive win at home for the Leafs and 19th in 30 games this season (19-10-1). Toronto owns the fourth-highest winning percentage on home ice (.633) in the Eastern Conference, trailing only Pittsburgh, Boston and Tampa. "I think that as a coach you think you should win every game at home," Carlyle said before the win over Florida. "I think if you look at teams that are winning championships and winning division titles and going deep into the playoffs that they have a little bit of an edge when the opposition comes in. They know that this is going to be a tough place to play. I think were still working towards that." Large in the teams success at home is the offence theyve been able to provide. The Leafs have scored three goals per game at the ACC, half-a-goal per game more than theyve managed on the road. A big part of that attack is the leagues no. 1 ranked home power-play (28.4%), which clicked for a pair against the Panthers, including the 22nd this year for JamesvanRiemsdyk a career-high and the 16th of the season for JoffreyLupul. "I played in the west for a lot of years and I know there were some rinks that you went into that were tough and definitely tough to go into," said MasonRaymond, who has 10 of his 14 goals and 23 of his 32 points this season in Toronto. "I think any team is going to tell you they want to make their home rink a tough one to come into and play hard in." 2. En Fuego Still Tallying three assists in a night for the first time this season, NazemKadri had what Carlyle described as "probably the best game that hes played in a long time at both ends of the rink". Kadri dug pucks free in the Panthers zone on goals from CodyFranson and Nik Kulemin before dishing to Lupul for a late power-play blast. "Offensively, Nazzie was a difference-maker tonight," said Carlyle. The 23-year-old has amassed 12 points in the past eight games and is on pace for 57 points this season. He spent seven of those eight games alongside Kulemin and Lupul, the former joining the pair against Montreal on Jan. 19. With Kulemin a left shot playing the right wing and Lupul a right shot playing the left wing, the line has gradually come alive. "It seems like Kulie is a better right winger, Lupul is a better left winger, which is kind of mind-boggling at times ones a right shot and ones a left shot but thats where they fit," said Carlyle. 3. Bolland Edging Closer Not looking anything like a player who has endured three months of rehab, DaveBolland continues to push toward a return for the Leafs. Bolland missed his 41st game of the season on Thursday night, but could make it back before the Olympic break Toronto plays its final game on Feb. 8. "I would think that theres a 50-50 chance," said Carlyle of Bollands prospects on Thursday morning. "He looks like hes moving quite freely out there and for the better part of the skates he doesnt seem to be affected by it. But obviously theres things going on that are inside that are taking a little bit more time." "Youve got to learn how to work that tendon again and work with it," the 27-year-old said recently. Out since Nov. 2, Bolland still has yet to participate in a full practice with the team an important first step joining the group at various points for the first time this week. "Its a dramatic injury," Carlyle said. "Its a difficult place to heal. It takes time. And were asking a guy to do something and his body is telling him another and thats when the push and shove becomes where he can take it." 4. Steve Spott Despite losing a slew of veteran players MikeZigomanis, RyanHamilton, GregScott, WillActon among them and their head coach DallasEakins to the NHL, the Toronto Marlies have remained an AHL force, winning seven of their past 10 games and leading their division once more this season. The man charged with steering a young, mostly inexperienced and overachieving ship is first-year head coach Steve Spott, formerly of the Kitchener Rangers. "I think Steves really good at getting the most out of his players," TroyBodie told the Leaf Report, the 29-year-old spending 17 games with the Marlies this season. "Hes really patient with them. He knows its a young group and he has the patience to deal with them properly. They have to learn the pro game so theres a lot of teaching involved. I think hes just good at handling them." The Marlies continue to be led in scoring by defenceman T.J.Brennan and boast only two forwards with 10 goals SpencerAbbott and the now NHL-bound CarterAshton. Busting with youth, their roster includes 20-year-olds JoshLeivo, StuartPercy, and TylerBiggs along with 21-year-olds GregMcKegg, SamCarrick, BradRoss, DavidBroll, and PetterGranberg. And yet they stand atop the North division with 25 wins in 42 games. 5. Hollands Quest for Consistency From a pure production standpoint PeterHollands second tour of duty with the Leafs hasnt gone quite as well as the first go around. Dealt to Toronto in mid-November, Holland had a string of eight points in one 10-game span, but has just one point in nine games since being recalled from the Marlies earlier this month. Maintaining consistency at the games highest level is a challenge most young players, the Caledon native included, have to overcome. "In the American League you can kind of have nights off and still end up with a goal or two assists or whatever, you can still end up on the point-sheet," Holland told the Leaf Report earlier this week. "But I think the challenge with this level is doing things that may not show up on the score-sheet but that are effective." Holland spoke of the subtler elements of the game, winning one-on-one battles in the defensive zone, grasping the teams defensive system, wearing down the opposition defence with extended offensive zone time and winning faceoffs. "Just all little things that go into having the team overall feel better out there on the ice," he said. With TrevorSmith due back shortly and Bolland pushing the pace en route to recovery (see above), Hollands spot in the lineup would seem to be in impending jeopardy. Still quite young in his NHL career 60 games further seasoning with Spott and the Marlies would not be a bad thing. Stats-Pack 22 Goals for JamesvanRiemsdyk this season, a career-high. 20 Points for PhilKessel in January, the highest total for any one month in his NHL career. 7 Times in the past eight games that NazemKadri has recorded at least a point. 4 Goals in the past 28 games for MasonRaymond, who scored his 14th this season against the Panthers. 12 Points for Kadri in the past eight games. 28.4% Power-play success rate for the Leafs at home this season, tops in the NHL. 5 Blocked shots for TimGleason against the Panthers. 8-1-1 Leafs record in the past 10 games. 8-8 Toronto penalty kill in the past two games. Special Teams Capsule PP: 2-3Season: 22.8% (3rd) PK: 5-5Season: 77.7% (28th) Quote of the Night "A few weeks ago it felt like the sky was falling in Toronto. We understood that it was nothing to panic about. We just rallied around each other."-NazemKadri, on the Leafs winning eight of the past 10 games. MILAN, Italy -- Teenage forward Domenico Berardi scored his third hat trick of the season to help Sassuolo win 4-3 at high-flying Fiorentina on Tuesday and boost its hopes of Serie A survival. Yu Darvish Jersey . The 19-year-old Berardi scored all his goals in the first half to help lift his club out of the bottom three. "It was a positive attitude but were not yet safe," Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco said. "We have two fundamental games left and we cant give up." "Berardi is a young player who still makes some naive mistakes of a 19-year-old. He has a strong character and the right personality to do what he does in big games." The teenager also netted three times against Sampdoria and scored four against AC Milan in what proved to be Massimiliano Allegris final match in charge. Italy forward Giuseppe Rossi made his first league appearance since January 5 and marked his return from injury with a goal which almost inspired Fiorentina to an astonishing comeback. The New Jersey-born forward will have boosted his chances of making Italys World Cup squad. "Apart from the final result, it was a good match on our part," Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella said. "We should be proud of our reaction on the second half. "Everyone hopes Rossi will be at the World Cup, especially him and he is improving physically. But obviously the choice doesnt depend on me." Fiorentina remained fourth while Sassuolo moved two points and two places above the drop zone. Napoli comfortably beat 10-man Cagliari 3-0 in the late match. Fiorentina goalkeeper Antonio Rosati was making his Serie A debut and he pulled off a couple of decent saves before Sassuolo opened the scoring with a 23rd-minute penalty following a handball by Borja Valero. Berardi doubled his tally nine minutes later, collecting Nicola Sansones threaded pass before firing in at the near post. Rosati got a hand to the ball but couldnt prevent it from squirming through. The on-loan Juventus forward completed his hat trick three minutes from halftime with his 16th goal in his debut Serie A season. Substitute Joaquin was introduced early in the second half for Fiorentina and he had an immediate impact, winning the penalty which Gonzalo Rodriguez converted. Sansone restored Sassuolos three-goal advantage before Rossi came on in the 65th minute and scored seven minutes later after a swift one-two with Valero. Coincidentally, Rossis last goal came against Sassuolo. Juan Cuadrado reduced the deficit still further 15 minutes from time and Sassuolo goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo pulled off a stunning save to prevent Rossi from getting the equalizer, while Valero had a strike ruled out for offside deep in stoppage time. Fiorentinas defeat mathematically assured Napoli of third spot and the final Champions League berth but the newly-crowned Italian Cup champion was keen to celebrate in style. The cup was paraded before kickoff though there was muted celebration as thoughts were with Ciro Esposito, the fan injured in the violence before Saturdays match. There were banners in support of Esposito, who remains in critical condition. Dries Mertens broke the deadlock with a penalty on his 27th birthday and Goran Pandev doubled Napolis advantage shortly before halftime. Marek Hamsik thumped a second penalty against the crossbar after Pandev had been fouled by Marco Silvestri. The goalkeeper was dismissed in that incident, leaving Cagliari at a numerical disadvantage for more than half an hour. Napoli did score a third two minutes later when Blerim Dzemaili tapped in a rebound after Vlada Avramov could only parry Pandevs effort. Elvis Andrus Jersey .C. -- If this was Jabari Parkers last home game at Duke, what a farewell it was. Martin Perez Authentic Jersey . The Texas Rangers right-hander will probably reconsider now. Wolf pitched five strong innings for his first big league win in his first start in the majors, DavidMurphy and AdrianBeltre homered in a three-run first inning, and the Rangers avoided a sweep with a 3-1 victory against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday.MILAN - Lazio scored a stoppage-time penalty to rescue a 3-3 draw at home to Hellas Verona in Serie A on Monday and the clubs saw their Europa League hopes diminish. The clubs are level on points, a point behind Parma and AC Milan, and two behind Torino, which occupies the last European spot. Later, Juventus looked to celebrate against Atalanta after Romas defeat on Sunday handed it a third successive league title. Substitute Romulo thought he scored the winner for Verona seven minutes from time as he was left unmarked to tap home Emil Hallfredssons cross with Lazio goalkeeper Etrit Berisha stranded. Yu Darvish Texas Rangers Jersey. But Lazio was awarded a penalty when Michelangelo Albertazzi clipped Miroslav Kloses heels. Albertazzi was sent off, joining Lazios Senad Lulic, who was shown a straight red card minutes earlier for an awful challenge on Juan Manuel Iturbe. Stefano Mauris penalty was saved by Rafael, but the Lazio captain fired the rebound into an empty net. Verona twice fought back, with equalizers from Marquinho and Iturbe after goals from teenage forward Keita Balde and Lulic saw Lazio go in front twice. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

A good way to describe MorganRiellys season would be a gradual build. Wholesale Jerseys . It started in training camp when there were questions about whether Rielly would crack the Leafs opening day roster or be returned to the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL. While he broke camp with the Leafs, Rielly had to wait until the teams third game of the season to see action. Then he played his tenth regular season game on October 26th against the Pittsburgh Penguins, meaning the first year of his three year entry level contract had kicked in. On January 15th against the Buffalo Sabres, another threshold reached as Rielly played his 40th game, meaning this season would count as a full season of service toward the seven required for unrestricted free agency. All the while through the first two months Rielly fought to claim an everyday spot in Torontos top three defence pairings, forced out of the line up on nine different occasions as a healthy scratch. But that appears to be a thing of the past now too; Rielly has not watched from the press box since December 8th against Boston. Obviously he feels a lot more comfortable, said Randy Carlyle, before the team departed for Florida on Monday afternoon. Were starting to see the true MorganRielly. I think like any young player, theyre conservative in the early going; they dont want to make any mistakes. Now a fixture among the Leafs top six defencemen and also seeing time on a second power play pairing with Jake Gardiner, Rielly is beginning to emerge in the form of a confident puck carrier. I think over the course of the year so far, Ive been able to gain some confidence and Ive really got pretty comfortable jumping up in the play and trying to carry the puck a bit more, said Rielly. Now with points in six of his last nine games (1-5), Rielly has moved into third among Leafs defensemen in scoring. Paired with TimGleason since midway through last Thursdays game against the Florida Panthers, the veteran defenseman has been impressed with the 19-year-olds poise with the puck. I notice how well he skates with the puck and how confident he looks skating with the puck, said Gleason. Its something that I wish I had when I was 19, 20 years old. Hes ahead of the game I think at his age, especially as a defenceman. After playing with JakeGardiner for a stretch of 10 games, a partnership with Gleason might be just the recipe to free Rielly up to take chances carrying the puck up the ice. I hope thats the case, said Gleason. Hes a puck moving guy who skates well; hes one of those guys who can lead the rush and thats tough to do in this league. He can go whenever he wants and Im more than happy to kind of keep the fort down and do my thing. I think its a good mixture for sure. The reassurance that Gleason wont stray too far from home has been beneficial for Rielly. I like playing with Jake but playing with Timmys been great, hes always back there playing good D and that helps me because I like to jump up a little bit. So far, the feeling has been mutual for Gleason. I have a good time playing with him, Gleason explained. If he has any questions, were different types of players so I dont know if Id have all the answers for him on the offensive side of things but hes grown really well since he started. As Rielly continues to develop into the player the Leafs hoped they were getting when they drafted him fifth overall in 2012, Randy Carlyle insisted the Leafs will remain cautious in their approach with the young defenseman. We dont want to get too far ahead of ourselves with any young player, we want to make sure we continue to measure and afford him the ice time that allows him to develop but, again, we dont want to put him in situations that he cant possibly have success in. Wholesale NFL Jerseys . As the Toronto Argonauts prepare to face their hated enemies from down the QEW, the Hamilton Tiger Cats, in this Sundays Eastern Final, theyre faced with something they havent experienced all season - a healthy receiving corps. Cheap Jerseys From China . First reported by FOX Sports Ken Rosenthal, its unknown if the impetus for the deferral proposal came from players or management, but it never left the preliminary stages.OAKLAND, Calif. - Los Angeles Clippers point guard ChrisPaul says he hopes to play in the All-Star game but its too early to know whether hell be healthy enough to return for the Feb. 16 contest in New Orleans. Paul was announced as an All-Star reserve Thursday. He earned MVP honours after leading the West to a victory over the East in last years game. Paul played his fiirst six seasons in New Orleans. MIAMI -- Pittsburgh Pirates rookie GregoryPolanco had five hits Friday night, and the last one was the biggest -- and the longest. Carlton Fisk Jersey For Sale . Playing in his fourth major league game, Polanco broke a tie in the 13th inning with his first homer, helping Pittsburgh to an 8-6 victory over the Miami Marlins after the Pirates had a ninth-inning meltdown. Polanco went 5 for 7, scored three times and made a run-saving catch in right field. "That could have been a coming-out party for him," manager Clint Hurdle said. "Very exciting to watch. I hope we get to watch for a long time." ClintBarmes singled off MikeDunn (5-4) to start the 13th and advanced on a sacrifice. Polanco homered on a hanging 2-2 slider and smacked his hands as he circled the bases, mindful his mother was in the stands watching him for the first time since he played winter league in his native Dominican Republic. "For sure this is my best game ever -- the first time shes here watching me play," Polanco said. "I was excited and a little emotional. Shes so proud of me, and I know shes feeling excited right now." JeanmarGomez (1-2) pitched four scoreless innings after the Pirates blew a 6-2 lead in the ninth when three relievers combined to issue six walks. The Pirates JeffLocke pitched a career-high eight innings, and the bullpens wildness cost him his first victory since Sept. 12. Miami trailed 6-5 and had runners at first and third with two out in the ninth when Hurdle ordered NL home run and RBI leader GiancarloStanton intentionally walked. The strategy backfired when CaseyMcGehee fell behind 0-2, and then walked against MarkMelancon to tie the game. Melancon struck out MarcellOzuna to send the game to the 10th. "You rip off the rearview mirror and keep playing," Hurdle said. The Marlins stranded three in the ninth and two in the 12th. "The game was there for the taking at the end," McGehee said. "It was unfortunate we couldnt quite finish it off." Pittsburghs Sterling Marte homered and tied a career high with four hits. IkeDavis added a two-run double, and the top four hitters in the Pirates order went 13 for 27. The Pirates have won seven consecutive series openers, and on Saturday they have a chance to reach .500 for the first time since mid-April. Miamis NathanEovaldi pitched as though he was more worried about his wifes delivery than his own, which was understandable. Their first child is due, which left Eovaldis status in doubt until game time, and he allowed 10 hits and six runs in 4 2-3 innings. Stanton hit his 18th home run. RafaelFurcal, making his season debut after being sidelined by injuries since 2012, turned two double plays at second base but went 0 for 6. Locke, making his second start since right-hander GerritCole went on the disabled list, allowed two runs, seven hits and no walks. The left-hander said he was encouraged by his performance. "Its huge," he said. "Anytime you give this team a chance to win, it makes you feel good. Thats what Ive always tried to do through the struggles and the successes. It builds a lot of confidence moving forward." Locke made the NL All-Star team last year but pitched poorly the second half of the season and has spent most of this season in Triple-A. NOTES: Marlins LF ChristianYelich left the game in the second inning with a strained lower back. LHP RandyWolf (1-2, 4.15 ERA) is scheduled to start Saturday for Miami against RHP CharlieMorton (3-7, 3.14 ERA). Carlton Fisk Jersey . There is also the Genoa derby on Sunday, while second-place Roma hosts Parma looking to take advantage of any more slip-ups from Juventus. Here are five things to know about the Italian league ahead of this weekends matches: LLORENTE ON SONGThe last time Juventus hosted Inter Milan the visitors ended the Bianconeris impressive streak of 49 games unbeaten with a 3-1 victory. Frank Thomas White Sox Jersey . KawhiLeonard scored 20 points, TonyParker had 16 points and 10 assists, and San Antonio rolled to a 114-97 victory over the Trail Blazers on Thursday night for a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinals.COLUMBUS, Ohio -- After a horrendous 5-20-1 start, the Buffalo Sabres have to be happy spoiling things for others. On Saturday night, they ruined a good run by the Columbus Blue Jackets. ChristianEhrhoff and MarcusFoligno scored short-handed goals and RyanMiller was almost flawless in goal as the Sabres ended a five-game skid with a 5-2 victory that snuffed out the Blue Jackets franchise-record winning streak at eight. "It feels good. It feels good to be a spoiler," Foligno said. "The odds were against us, they were on a roll and have been playing pretty well. Their power plays been good -- and we got two goals off of it, which is great." MattEllis, SteveOtt and CodyHodgson also scored for the Sabres, who snapped an 0-3-2 stretch. "Its pretty cool. Theyre one of the hottest teams in the NHL this month," said Hodgson, who also had an assist. "It feels nice to win, it doesnt matter who its against. But its a little extra sweeter (against a good team)." It was a stunning reversal of fortune for both teams. Ehrhoff added two assists, tying a career high with three points as the Sabres won by three goals and scored five times in regulation for the first times all season. "It is disappointing," said DerekMacKenzie, who had a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets, who blew a chance to take over second place in their division. "You win eight, you want to keep winning." Miller, who was stellar in the first period when the Blue Jackets peppered him with shots, made 38 saves and stood particularly tall on Columbus four fruitless power plays. He benefited from two fluky goals that benched his Columbus counterpart -- reigning Vezina Trophy winner SergeiBobrovsky. "A couple of those goals, they didnt see. Im not too sure how they got in," Buffalo coach Ted Nolan said. "But the whole game was RyanMiller. I thought he was sensational again." Bobrovsky, who came in 9-0-0 with a 1.80 goals-against average and .940 save perceentage in his past nine starts, had a forgettable game. Gordon Beckham Jersey. The Sabres got on the board first at the 2:21 mark of the opening period when Ellis backhanded the puck -- perhaps just trying to keep it in play off the back boards -- and it eluded a surprised Bobrovsky. After MacKenzie tied it, Columbus went on a power play. But a miscommunication in the defensive zone resulted in the puck bouncing to near the end of the left blue line, where Ehrhoff wandered up and unloaded a hard slap shot. Bobrovsky appeared to see it all the way but missed it with his glove, the puck nestling inside the far top corner. "I was about at the red line," Ehrhoff said after collecting his 300th career point. "They had some problems communicating with their goalie and he made the pass up and I jumped on it and tried to get it on net as hard as I could. It changed directions a few times." The puck seldom left Columbus offensive zone for more than 3 minutes at the outset of the second period. After Buffalos MikeWeber went off for elbowing, another bit of shoddy stickwork resulted in Foligno carrying the puck down the right wing, scissoring to the middle and wristing a shot that Bobrovsky caught but then allowed to trickle into the net. It was the sixth of the season for Foligno -- the younger brother of the Blue Jackets NickFoligno. Bobrovsky was replaced by CurtisMcElhinney, but Miller never let the Blue Jackets back in it -- thoroughly deflating a crowd of 16,272. "I thought we competed hard, but we were sloppy at times," Columbus coach Todd Richards said. "Our power play is minus-2. We were a second slow in our decisions and our playmaking." Notes: Columbus recalled D CodyGoloubef from AHL Springfield to replace DavidSavard (undisclosed illness) -- but Goloubef had travel difficulties and didnt make it to the game. The Blue Jackets were forced to go with five defencemen. ... Sabres LW VilleLeino sustained an upper-body injury and did not come out for the third period. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys' ' ' |

a position that
Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk would like to see Bryan Murray raise the Stanley Cup as the clubs general manager. Brandon Meriweather Jersey . After extending Murrays contract through the 2015-16 season, Melnyk also extended that window and put something of a timer on that ultimate goal. "We think that we have all the core group in place," Melnyk said on a conference call Monday. "I think if we were on the same trajectory as we have been over the last few years, that its ultimately going to lead to a championship-type team." Murray, who was given the additional title of president of hockey operations, agreed to serve as an adviser for two seasons after his tenure as general manager is up. After building this group over the past six-plus seasons, he hopes not to have to wait too long for a title. "I think obviously the objective is to do it when Im here as a general manager," Murray said. "The core we have is a very good core, its young." And Murray knows that inexperience can lead to growing pains. The Senators struggled for much of the first half of this season, going 14-17-7 before a recent run put them within two points of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Success made working out an extension for Murray easier because Melnyk wanted to negotiate during an "upswing" and "ensure that nobody ever would think that this was some kind of knee-jerk reaction to what was not an optimal beginning to the season." The timing seemingly had more to do with the departure of assistant GM Tim Murray, Bryans nephew, who was hired as the Buffalo Sabres head man last week. In addition to extending Murray, the Senators promoted Pierre Dorion and Randy Lee to assistant general managers. Dorion, who was already in charge of scouting and drafting, takes on contract-negotiation duties, while Lee, who was in charge of player development, also becomes GM of Ottawas AHL affiliate in Binghamton. "Its a great day for all of us going forward," Murray said. More moves could be coming down the line to bolster the hockey operations department, though not on the management side. Murray said the Senators could perhaps use "another set of eyes" in the scouting department. "We lost a pretty good evaluator in Tim, so do we have enough?" Murray said. "I believe we do for now. If we have to do something in the future because of other coverage, then well address it at that time." For now, Murray can go about his job with some extra security. Hes considering moves before the trade deadline to bolster Ottawas playoff hopes, and he and his assistants will have some work to do on current contracts. "We understand that weve got about five players that are important parts of the present team that we have to make a decision on and do a contract for," he said. "Were kind of setting ourselves up to do that." Winger MilanMichalek and defenceman ChrisPhillips are set to be unrestricted free agents this summer, while goaltender RobinLehner will be a restricted free agent. Captain JasonSpezza, winger BobbyRyan and defenceman MarcMethot are up in the summer of 2015. "As we go forward over the next few months well make contact with the agents and see in a couple cases if we can extend them," Murray said without naming names. "A couple of them we have to wait until July 1. But internally were making those decisions and well be in the best possible position, I believe to do (it), and then it will be up to the players agent to deal with us." Spezza and Ryans deals end a year before Murrays. Melnyk and Murray have discussed potential succession plans, but Monday wasnt the time they wanted to discuss that inevitability. "We just have to now kind of over the next little while evaluate people and decide what may happen," Murray said. "But thats a little ways down the road, and I hope we have a lot of success between now and that decision being made." Brandon Meriweather Redskins Jersey . This week, topics cover the Blue Jays rotation, the futures John Gibbons and Alex Anthopoulos, protecting pitchers and a bonus question on his predictions for the MLB playoffs. Jason Hatcher Jersey . So on Friday, they went to work. The two-time Eastern Conference runner-ups announced they had signed three free agents -- backup big man LavoyAllen, swingman C.Wanted. CFL coaches. Several openings available. Send your resume to Scott Milanovich c/o Toronto Argonauts. Experience preferred. That may sound a bit extreme, but the Toronto Argonauts coaching staff has been decimated in the off-season. Former defensive coordinator Chris Jones is the new head coach in Edmonton, while former special teams coordinator Mike OShea was named as the Blue Bombers head coach in early December. The main difference between the two? Jones didnt leave on his own. On Tuesday, it was announced that Jones was bringing four members of last years Argo staff with him to Edmonton. Steve McAdoo was Torontos o-line coach for the past four seasons and becomes Edmontons new offensive coordinator. Ed Philions first year coaching in the CFL was last year with the Argos defensive line, the same group hell coach with the Eskies. Two young assistant coaches, Jason Shivers and Craig Davoren leave Ontario to become defensive backs coach and offensive assistant coach respectively. Scott Milanovich replaced Jones with former Winnipeg head coach Tim Burke, but now has a lot of vacancies on the staff. Was he surprised at all with the number of defections? "Not at all," Milanovich told TSN.ca. "I knew a week after the season who was going." The coach says that at some point after the season Eskies GM Ed Hervey called Jim Barker, his Toronto counterpart, and asked for permission. Its an expected part of life on the coaching carousel. "All of the contracts would have been up at the end of the month. I spoke with Chris (Jones) about it. I told him who was and wasnt availabble. Russ Grimm Redskins Jersey. There were no surprises." Perhaps the least shocking move is that McAdoo is heading west. He and Jones coached for three seasons together at Tennessee Tech, four years together with the Montreal Alouettes and the last two campaigns together in Toronto. When Jones left, Burke was hired almost immediately to replace him. It was an easy fit. They had coached together in Montreal, Burke had a ton of experience and had great success as a DC in the league. The OShea replacement hasnt been as easy. "I think (special teams coordinator) is a very difficult position to fill in the CFL" Milanovich explained to TSN.ca "It doesnt get the respect it deserves. I dont think you can go and get an NCAA D-1 or NFL coach and get a successful transition in one year. The return game, the halo, the number of snaps you take on special teams makes it more of a position that needs CFL or CIS experience." The search continues and Milanovich says the club has focsed on several candidates. "I have spoken to maybe four or five" continued the coach. "Ive dug around and asked about six or seven others and have asked other guys for their opinions." Historically the CIS has been snubbed as a breeding ground for CFL coaches, though Mike OShea named long-time Queens DC Pat Tracey as the Bombers special teams coach. Would Milanovich have a problem going that route? "Not for the right guy." Milanovich hopes to have that guy, and the rest of his new staff assembled in the next two to three weeks. He hopes to announce the entire staff at the same time. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- LukeDonald became the first golfer to win both the PGA Tour and European Tour money titles, finishing third in the Dubai World Championship on Sunday behind winner Alvaro Quiros. Doug Flutie Womens Jersey . Quiros made a 40-foot eagle putt on the 18th hole for a two-shot victory over 1999 British Open champion Paul Lawrie. The top-ranked Donald, who won the PGA title earlier this year, had to finish better than ninth or hope RoryMcIlroy didnt win the tournament. McIlroy, weakened with a virus all week, tied for 11th at 9-under 279. That left McIlroy more than $1.34 million behind Donald in the money race. "Its funny to kind of sum up my feelings" said Donald, who has just come back from five weeks off in which he buried his father and was on hand for the birth of his second child. "You know, this is something Ive wanted for the past few months, to try and win both money lists," Donald said. "Its very strange because I looked at the leaderboard on 13 and couldnt see Rory. I couldnt see Rorys name on there and the leaders were playing well, and at that point, I kind of knew I had made history and the last six holes were kind of surreal." Quiros had a final-round 5-under 67 on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates to finish at 269. Donald was three shots behind Quiros after he ran off three birdies in a row for a 6-under 66. Peter Hanson of Sweden was fourth, another two shots back, and Masters champion CharlSchwartzel was in fifth another shot behind. The big-hitting Quiros came into the final day with a two-shot lead but squandered it after he had three bogeys on the front nine to go with five birdies. Lawrie, who led after the first day, took the lead after he notched five birdies in his first eight holes. But Lawrie bogeyed the 12th after an approach shot missed the green and Quiros birdied the 14th to take the lead for good. Lawries short game continued to haunt him when an errant chip on 16 cost him a birdie chance. Then, the 42-year-old Lawrie missed a 6-foot birdie putt at the 17th that would have tied it. Quiros managed to reach the 18th green in two while Lawrie was there in three. Rather than play it safe, Quiros clinched the win with a long eagle putt. The Spaniard pumped his fist as the crowd cheered. The win was just Quiros second this year on the tour -- after the Dubai Desert Classic -- and sixth overall on the tour. It was a much happier ending than a week ago, when Quiros had a 3-shot lead going into the final round of the Hong Kong Open. He let it slip after erratic drives and poor putting, finishing in a tie for seventh -- five shots behind McIlroy, who holed a greenside bunker shot to win. Quiros praised the rivalry that developed over the final round with Lawrie, who ended a nine-year drought earlier this year with a victory in Spain. "I was hitting good shots all day but, as I said, Paul was marvelous," he said. "He was holing every single putt. He was in contention every single time. I think he was just one or two times in trouble and the second one was on 12. From this moment onwards, it changed the situation completely." Quiros said he felt he had the advantage coming into the par 5, 18th. But even with the one-shot lead, the 28-year-old Spaniard said he never considered laying up because Lawrie was putting so well and Donald had moved into contention with a string of birdies down the stretch. He also was worried about his slim lead, after Lawries approach shot came down within 12-foot of the cup. Lawrie eventually sank it for a birdie. "I heard the peoples roars after Luke holed a good putt on 17 and 18 and obviously Paul just was one shot behind me," Quiros said. "He (Lawrie) hit a good shot and the way he was putting all day, I thought, you know, the putt that he has is very ... makable. I was looking to give myself a chance, a meter-and-a half around the hole ... And then the putt was simple as, perfect, genius." Lawrie refused to dwell on his mistakes, insisting he had done everything to win. Rather than talk about any one hole Sunday, he alluded to Friday where he drove the ball poorly on the way to a 1-over 73 which cost him the first-round lead. "I think anybody would tell you they are disappointed not to win," Lawrie said. "I probably did enough to have a chance coming down the 18th and thats all you can do. Alvaro, hes got at least 250 yards uphill into the wind on 18 with a 3-wood off a hanging lie. Any time you make a three off that lie, hes a worthy winner." Despite finishing second, the 42-year-old Lawrie said his performance has given him hope that he still a future on the tour and possibly a few more victories. "I worked very hard last winter and hit a lot of balls and put a lot of time in," he said. "I knew I was 42 and time is running out a wee bit. So if you are going have another go at it, you might as well go now. So nice to be in there and thereabouts have a chance to win tournaments again." Kellen Winslow Blue Jersey . In fact, cranky would best describe the Celtics mood as they packed for a trip home to play Milwaukee on Wednesday. "It was a win, thats all it was for us," Boston coach Doc Rivers said. Branden Oliver Blue Jersey . Louis Blues remain at the top spot of the TSN.BEREA, Ohio - On any given day, JoshGordons size, speed and agility separates him from others on the field. Hes that rare talent, the player everyone notices. Hes standing out for another reason. Gordon is awaiting another possible NFL suspension for reportedly failing a drug test, a violation that could cost the Pro Bowl wide receiver a full season. But while his future remains cloudy, Clevelands young star is doing all he can to improve his dazzling skills. After gliding over the middle on Tuesday, Gordon leaped to snag a pass before tucking the ball away and sprinting from a defender. If hes burdened, Gordons hiding it well. "Hes showing up every day as the No. 1 receiver, hes not showing up as a guy whos uncertain about his future," said wide receiver NateBurleson. "Thats all he can do right now, is go to work as if hes our No. 1 because he is." Arguably Clevelands best player, Gordon could be facing a lengthy suspension for marijuana use. The 23-year-old was suspended two games last season for violating the leagues substance-abuse policy and still led the league in yards receiving. The league has not commented on Gordons status. He complicated his situation last week when he was ticketed for speeding and a passenger in his car was cited for marijuana possession. Gordon is scheduled to appear in Berea Municipal Court on Wednesday. Browns first-year coach Mike Pettine believes the uncertainty is weighing on Gordon. It has to be. "I cant imagine that it wouldnt," Pettine said. "It would be human nature." Gordon politely declined an interview request. He entered the league with a history of substance-abuse issues. Gordon is known to have failed at least three drug tests in college, but the Browns were willing to overlook his past when they selected him in the second round of the supplemental draft in 2012. His risky behaviour has jeopardized his career, but the Browns insist they will stick by him. Pettine acknowledged some frustration in not knowing Gordons status. "Until we hear from the league, were going to be business as usual," he said. "At this point, there is nothing to act on. Everyone can sense the frustration, and its a difficult thing. But until it happens, we have a plan in place for all eventualities but were still in a holding pattern." While the Browns wait, Pettinne said Gordon has not let the uncertainty affect his performance. Dan Fouts Blue Jersey. "He comes out and works hard, puts in a days work, solid in the classroom," Pettine said. "When hes in the building, hes been solid. Its not the first guy in the league to be like that where when hes in the building hes great and has some issues, for whatever reason due to circumstances, when hes out of the building. Im not a stranger to situations like that." The Browns signed Burleson, a 12-year veteran, as a free agent to provide leadership to Clevelands group of young receivers. Burleson hasnt spoken with Gordon specifically about his situation, but has been providing any support he can. "I just do the same thing I was doing before the news came out," Burleson said. "Help motivate him, him and the other guys. Im here as a guy who, one, can show young guys how to be a professional athlete on and off the field and two, try to motivate them in different ways. "Hes so gifted and so talented that its hard to coach greatness. Its hard to motivate greatness." Burleson played with RandyMoss in Minnesota and CalvinJohnson in Detroit. He knows what a superstar wide receiver looks like and believes Gordon has what it takes to be one of the best. Like everyone associated with the Browns, Burleson is eager for a positive outcome for Gordon. "That type of talent you want on the field, whether its at practice or game day," Burleson. "You only get so many guys every few years that redefine the position and hes one of those guys. Hes not your traditional receiver. Theres Calvin and theres Randy, these guys were hit with that special stick and God blessed them with attributes you can only create in video games. "For him to miss any time, its a loss for everybody in general, fans especially. The hope is that hes on the field." Pettine believes the Browns have a good support system in place to help Gordon, and the league has been proactive in helping troubled players. However, theres a shared responsibility. "There has to be a willingness on the other side," he said. "Sometimes they get the message and its too late. In all my time in the league, theres always going to be a handful of guys that just dont get it." ___ AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Titans have agreed to a contract with receiver KevinCurtis. Eric Hosmer Authentic Jersey . The Titans announced the deal Friday with the eight-year veteran who played last season with Miami. Curtis has 253 catches for 3,297 yards and 20 touchdowns in 81 career games. Curtis was drafted by St. Louis in the third round in 2003 out of Utah State. He played four seasons with the Rams and spent three seasons with Philadelphia. He had his best year with the Eagles in 2007 with 77 catches for 1,110 yards and six TDs. The Titans waived rookie receiver Joseph Hills to clear roster space. Alex Gordon Authentic Jersey . Louis Cardinals had a major need at shortstop and signed a veteran free agent who, while having PED issues, has been a potent hitter throughout his career. George Brett Jersey . Moore-Towers, 21, of St. Catharines, Ont., and Moscovitch, 29, of Toronto teamed up in 2009 and became Canadian pairs champions in 2011. They were runners-up at the national championships the past two years. PHILADELPHIA -- The Toronto Raptors are under .500 and on top of the Atlantic Division. More games like this one and theyll get that winning record. DeMarDeRozan scored 33 points and RudyGay had 18 to help Toronto beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-98 on Wednesday night. In a down year so far in the Atlantic Division, the Raptors (5-7) wrested away first place from the Sixers (5-8). "Its a great accomplishment to be in that position," guard KyleLowry said. "But we still have to keep it up. We have to take all the good from it, learn from it and grow." DeRozan and Gay dominated the Sixers in the second half to turn this one into a rout. Gay hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 15 points in the third quarter, and DeRozan scored 30 points through the first three quarters to build a 16-point lead. The Raptors may not have a winning record, but they have themselves in first place. "Were nowhere near where we need to be," coach Dwane Casey said. "Well take it, but its early. Weve got to continue to work and stay hungry." The Raptors can ask Philadelphia how easy it is to lose the top spot. The Sixers were the surprise first-place team in the division thanks to 3-0 start, featuring wins over Miami and Chicago. But reality has set in for a team that was expected to rank among the worst in the NBA. SpencerHawes hit his first nine shots and finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds for the 76ers. Philadelphias fourth straight loss came on the heels of an 0-3 road trip. The Sixers started DanielOrton and JamesAnderson, and a bench made up of HollisThompson, BrandonDavies and LavoyAllen is one of the weakest in the league. "Teams go on losing streaks, it happens sometimes," Allen said. "Everyone needs to fill a role and get back to what we were doing earlier." Led by DeRozan, the Raptors pulled away to a 55-48 halftime lead. He hit three 3s in the half and scored 22 points, putting him on pace to top his career high of 337. Bo Jackson Royals Jersey. . He didnt slow down in the second half as much as it was his teammates simply taking turns dominating the ball. "Thats how weve got to play, get everybody involved, everybody going," DeRozan said. Against a woeful defence, the Raptors shot 12 of 21 on 3-pointers through three. TerrenceRoss, who had 17 points, and SteveNovak ended the quarter with consecutive 3s to close a 15-5 run. The Raptors finished with a season-high 14 -- already the eighth time the 76ers have allowed 13 or more. Hawes was the only Sixers player who at least was able to make this one a game. He hit his first five free throws and his first three 3-pointers to keep it close. Hawes finally missed a free throw in the third, only to have Allen put it back for a bucket that cut it to 76-70. The Raptors wouldnt let the lead dip below six points the rest of the way. DeRozan was fouled on a 3-point attempt late in the fourth and hit all three free throws to make it 107-92 in front of an almost empty arena. The Raptors were just the latest team to put up big points against the Sixers, who have allowed 100-plus points in 11 of 13 games this season. MichaelCarter-Williams returned to Philadelphias starting lineup after missing the previous four games with a bruised left arch. He scored 10 points. EvanTurner had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Starting forward ThaddeusYoung missed the game for personal reasons. "When you dont have Thaddeus, do you go big ball, do you go small ball?" coach Brett Brown said. "When you play that type of judgment game, it gets harder to manage those periods." GLENDALE, Ariz. Josh Hamilton Angels Jersey . -- Downcast before the final game of what had been a difficult road trip, the Ottawa Senators found a way to dig out a little momentum in the desert before heading home. CoryConacher scored at 2:48 of overtime, JasonSpezza completed a natural hat trick to erase a two-goal deficit and the Senators ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night. "We came into this game with a little different attitude and it showed in most parts of the game," Conacher said. "Obviously, we took five to 10 minutes off and they got a couple of goals, but for the most part I think that we showed we can be a really good team." Ottawa had gone through a rough opening stretch of the season, following a win over Buffalo with a 0-2-2 run heading into Tuesdays game. The players talked after their morning skate about trying to end the road trip on a positive note and did just that, rallying from a 2-0 deficit behind Spezzas fifth career hat trick. Even after Phoenix tied it late in regulation, the Senators didnt let down, pulling out the two points on Conachers one-timer on a pass from MarcMethot in the extra period. MilanMichalek added a pair of assists for Ottawa, which will open its home season Thursday against New Jersey after earning six of a possible 12 points on the road trip. "Were excited to get home, excited to play our home opener," Spezza said. "Weve played six games now and we havent played at home. Were excited to play in front of our fans, see our families, play in our own arena." Coming off a five-game road trip, the Coyotes knew they had a tough night ahead of them, expecting to be tired and the Senators to play angry. Phoenix couldnt match Ottawas intensity early, but managed to keep it scoreless after an ugly first period and went up 2-0 early in the second on quick goals by RobKlinkhammer and RadimVrbata. The Coyotes responded after Spezzas hat trick, tying it on MikeRibeiros first goal with the team, but couldnt finish it off in overtime to end a three-game winning streak. "What you try to do in a game like that, everyone in your group is contributing a little bit," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "Maybe not to their normal standard, but everybodys got to contribute a little bit. The problem tonight was probably half a dozen guys didnt contribute much at all and thats where you come up a little bit short." The Senators were coming off a pair of ugly losses, allowing a combined 106 shots against San Jose and Anaheim. Goalie CraigAnderson didnt last long in the loss to the Ducks, pulled after giving up two goals on nine shots in the first four minutes. Ottawa was much better in its own end early against the Coyotes, allowing one shot in the first 14 minutes while outshooting Phoenix 12-4 in the first period. "Coming off a road trip, you always want to have a good start at home, but we were lucky to come away from that 0-0," Coyotes defenceman MichaelStone said. The Coyotes changed things in a hurry at the start of the second period. Phoenix created a couple of quick scoring chances and Klinkhammer turned one into his third goal of the season, punching in a rebound less than 90 seconds into the period. Vrbata followed with his fourth goal 1:12 later, wristing a shot from the left circle that Anderson had trouble seeing through traffic. The Senators managed to gather themselves after the flurry. Ottawa pulled within 2-1 when Spezza punched in his second goal of the season after a shot by PatrickWiercioch slid under Smith and bounced between the goalies skates. Spezza had another easy chance on his second goal of the game early in the third period, shooting to an empty net after Smith went out of his crease to play the puck, but had to let it go after it crossed out of the trapezoid in the corner. Spezza completed the natural hat trick a few minutes later on a power play, ripping a slap shot from the right circle past Smiths stick side. The Coyotes picked up the pressure late and tied it on Ribeiros redirect, but Conacher ended it in overtime, sending the Senators home happy. "Now were heading home and hopefully we can put together some games," Spezza said. "Getting those two points gives us a lot of confidence." Notes: MilanMichalek went up 18-17-1 in his head-to-head matchup with older brother Zbynek, Phoenix defenceman, with the Senators win. ... Coyotes LW MikkelBoedker had his 100th career point with an assist on Vrbatas goal. ... Coyotes D DerekMorris did not play due to an upper-body injury. Nolan Ryan Jersey . Ausmus says he realized his words were insensitive and in poor taste as soon as they left his mouth. The first-year manager was asked after Detroits 2-1 loss to Kansas City on Wednesday how his mood is when he heads home from the ballpark these days. C.J. Wilson Jersey . Moore-Towers, 21, of St. Catharines, Ont., and Moscovitch, 29, of Toronto teamed up in 2009 and became Canadian pairs champions in 2011. They were runners-up at the national championships the past two years.TSNs Jack Armstrong offers his thoughts on AnthonyBennetts big game, the skills of JeffTeague, the performance of NickCalathes, the energy of JoakimNoah and the compete level of AmirJohnson. 1. AnthonyBennett (Cavs): Congrats! Finally. Its been a very frustrating and disappointing rookie campaign for the young Canadian out of UNLV. The Cavs have won three in a row after an embarrassing loss at home to the undermanned Lakers and firing their GM Chris Grant. A wake up call? Maybe. For Bennett, its got to feel good and hopefully the fact that hes rounding back into shape will help his confidence and he relaxes and plays his game. Lots of pressure being the #1 overall pick in the draft to say the least. 2. JeffTeague (Hawks): For the Raptors to win Wednesday, they have to control this guy at the point of attack. Hes terrific at getting into the lane and outplayed KyleLowry in their first meeting back in early November. Hes had a nice season at 15.7ppg and 7.3 apg. Lightning quick and he changes speeds really well. Gets into the lane almost at will. His penetration and ball-hawking skills defensively will be factors to watch. 3. NickCalathes (Grizzlies): Awesome job filling in at the point guard spot vs. the Wizards Tuesday night with 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Not a bad performance at all. Loved how he played with great poise at the end of the game vs. JohnWall and concentrated on getting his team organized in their half-court offence and getting the ball to their two bigs and playing the power game. He really impressed me with his command of the game plan. Nice pick for them. 4. JoakimNoah (Bulls): Fabulous game Tuesday night vs. the Hawks. Watched the game and was blown way by the energy he had and the impact he had on the game. Posted a triple-double with 19 points, 16 boards and 11 assists. He competes at the top of the llist for players in the NBA; not many that play harder in the entire league. C.J. Wilson Authentic Jersey. A winner. With the Raptors currently (big game Wednesday vs. Hawks) in the third seed right now in the East with the Bulls, Hawks and Wizards occupying the 3-6 range of the East, the team I fear the most for a first round matchup for the Raptors is the Bulls. In spite of DerrickRose being out and LuolDeng being traded, this team has what it takes to win in the playoffs and grind the game to a screeching halt and make you play ugly. For a young Raptors team in their first playoff series, this would be a matchup Id prefer they avoid. I know the Raptors have beaten them two of the first three games theyve played this year (they play again on next Wednesday in Toronto, coming off a back-to-back with Washington) but just ask last years Nets if you want to deal with the Bulls in the playoffs. Led by Noah, this club gets after you at a level in the playoffs that takes some getting used to. 5. AmirJohnson (Raptors): One of my all-time favorite Raptors. Not sure if hell play vs. the Hawks Wednesday but hes always been a gamer and wonderful competitor. The All-Star Break couldnt come at a better time for him than now. He needs the break to heal his injuries and fatigued body. He gives it his all for you and I respect that. I think hed be the first to tell you that he needs to play better and with more consistency down the stretch for the Raptors to be Atlantic Division champs and to also secure the third seed. If you watch the Raptors enough, its pretty obvious that when Johnson and TerrenceRoss are going good and compliment KyleLowry, DeMarDeRozan, Jonas and the bench, this team can play with anyone in the league. The night in and night out high level performance of Johnson and Ross, in my eyes, is the key to this team making a run here down the stretch. Consistency needed. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

SOCHI, Russia -- Charle Cournoyer has won bronze in the mens 500-metre short-track speedskating race. Wholesale Jerseys . The Boucherville, Que., native finished behind gold-medal winner Victor An of Russia and Chinas Dajing Wu. Cournoyer advanced to the finals with second-place results in the quarter-finals and semifinals. He was assured of a medal when Chinas Wenhao Liang fell during the four-skater final. The 22-year-old, who was making his Olympic debut, hadnt finished better than sixth during the current World Cup season. Cournoyer was the only Canadian in the final after Olivier Jean of Lachenaie, Que., was fourth in his quarter-final race to finish 13th overall. Charles Hamelin of Saint-Julie, Que., was the defending champion but failed to advance out of the heats. The medal will be a relief to a short-track team that has just two medals in a disappointing overall performance at the Winter Games. Cheap NFL Jerseys . The Texans sunk to a new low on Sunday with a 13-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars to extend their franchise-record skid to nine games.Wholesale NFL Jerseys . -- Having played six seasons with the Kings, KevinMartin is very comfortable at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.MILAN, Italy -- Luca Toni scored again to help Hellas Verona thrash relegation-threatened Catania 4-0 in Serie A on Sunday to boost its European chances as Parma lost 1-0 at Cagliari. Verona remained level on points with Torino and Lazio in the race for sixth place and the final Europa League spot. "We have nothing to lose in the race for Europe," Toni said. "Well be fired up, we know we can go down in history. Well see what will happen in three weeks time." Torino beat Udinese 2-0 while Lazio won by the same scoreline at relegation-threatened Livorno. The results saw Torino, Lazio and Verona move a point above AC Milan and Parma. "We werent as strong and determined as usual, thats the main thing about this match," Parma coach Roberto Donadoni said. "We werent ourselves in the first half, but even so we didnt give much to Cagliari. "Then two incidents determined the final result: the penalty and the sending off of one our players meant we were chasing the game with a numerical disadvantage. Now we have to try and get the maximum of points, in other words nine points in three matches, working as hard as we can." Also, 10-man Sampdoria fought back to beat Chievo Verona 2-1 and Genoa drew 1-1 at Atalanta. Verona got off to the perfect start when Catania goalkeeper Alberto Frison palmed away Juan Iturbes shot and Toni fired in the rebound in the sixth minute. Toni thought he had doubled his tally in the 28th when he headed home for what would have been his 20th goal of the season. However, the Italian league later awarded it as an own goal by Frison after watching video evidence which showed the effort had rebounded off the post and in off the goalkeeper. "Before I didnt believe I could win the top goalscorers award this season," Toni said. "It would be something extraordinary at 36 years of age." Marquinho extended Veronas lead on the stroke of halftime with a low drive following Juanitos pass. Juanito saw a shot turned onto the post by Frison moments later, but the Argentinian did get onto the scoresheet in the 75th with a curled effort into the far corner. Cheap Jerseys. Ciro Immobile remained on course for the top goalscorer award as he scored his 21st goal of the season for Torino. Omar El Kaddouri had given Torino the lead in the 15th when he weaved his way into the left of the area before firing into the near side of goal. Parma was looking to get back on track after just one win in its past seven matches. But it was Cagliari which broke the deadlock in the 35th minute after Alessandro Lucarelli took down Daniele Dessena, right in front of the referee who pointed straight to the penalty spot. Mauricio Pinilla converted, sending Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante the wrong way. Parmas hopes of getting back into the game evaporated early in the second half following a moment of madness from Felipe, who was sent off for pushing Luca Rossettini in the face. The Brazilian had to be dragged away by Pinilla and faces a lengthy ban. Both teams needed points in Livorno, with the home side desperate to avoid relegation and Lazio chasing a Europa League spot. Livorno gifted Lazio the lead in the 15th minute as goalkeeper Francesco allowed Stefano Mauris angled volley to squirm between him and the near post. Lazio doubled its lead six minutes after the break when former Livorno winger Antonio Candreva scored a penalty after Leandro Rinaudo was harshly adjudged to have handled. Livorno remained in penultimate position in the standings, three points off safety, and five behind Chievo. In the evening match, Paolo De Ceglies first goal in more than two years appeared to be enough to secure victory for Genoa and snap a four-match losing streak. Genoa managed to last most of the second half with 10 men after Daniele Portanova was sent off five minutes after the break for a foul on German Denis. Mattia Perin saved the resulting penalty. However, Atalantas pressure finally paid off eight minutes from time. Perin pulled off a stunning save to deny Guglielmo Stendardo but Giuseppe De Luca -- who was clearly offside -- put the rebound into the empty net with an overhead kick. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

ROGERS, Ark. Clay Harbor Black Jersey . -- Stacy Lewis made a 7-foot birdie putt on the final hole Sunday in the NW Arkansas Championship to finally win an official event in her adopted state. The top-ranked Lewis, the Texan who played at the nearby University of Arkansas, earned an unofficial win in the rain-shortened 2007 tournament as an amateur. On Sunday, she closed with a 6-under 65 for a one-stroke victory. Lewis birdied three of her final holes for her third LPGA Tour victory of the year and 11th overall. She finished at 12-under 201 at Pinnacle Country Club. Lydia Ko, Cristie Kerr and Angela Stanford tied for second. Ko finished with a 65, and Kerr and Stanford shot 67. Second-round leader Michelle Wie shot a 73 to tie for eighth at 8 under. Kerr had a chance to match Lewis at 12 under with a 30-foot birdie putt on the 18th. However, her putt came up short. Then, after So Yeon Ryu failed to make an eagle on the final hole, Lewis win was secured. Ryu ended up fifth at 10 under after a 69. Lewis won the Shoprite Classic this month as well as the North Texas Shootout in May. The two-time major winner has long said, though, how much pressure she felt to win in Arkansas -- where she was a four-time All-American in college and is greeted throughout rounds by calls of "Woo Pig Sooie." She was tied for the lead entering the final round last year before finishing in a tie for fourth, but her final birdie spree finally secured her sought-after win Sunday. Wie began the final round with a two-shot lead after back-to-back 5-under 66s, but she missed short birdie putts on the first two holes and struggled to a 1-over front nine -- capped by a three-putt bogey on the ninth. The whirlwind media tour following last weeks win at the U.S. Womens Open appeared to finally catch up after that with Wie, who followed with bogeys on Nos. 10 and 11 to effectively end her contention. She finished with 35 putts after needing 28 the first round and 29 in the second. With Wie coming back to the field, several players climbed up the leaderboard and into contention on the back nine -- with Lewis, Ko, Kerr and Stanford part of a four-way tie atop the leaderboard at one point. Lewis began the tournament 2 over after her first four holes Friday, but she closed by shooting 14 under over her final 68 holes. She took advantage of the opening with Wies stumble and vaulted into the solo lead at 11 under with a birdie on the par-4 16th. Ko and Kerr answered with birdies to climb back to part of a three-way tie at 11 under, but Lewis had the last answer -- a 7-foot left-to-right birdie putt on No. 18 that resulted in a huge ovation from the pro-Arkansas gallery and a fist pump and sigh of relief from Lewis. Lewis putted 25 times Sunday, a day after needing only 24 putts in the second round. Chella Choi briefly was tied for the lead early in the round after a hole-in-one on the 166-yard par-3 sixth hole. She finished with a 69 to tie for sixth at 9 under. Clay Harbor Jersey . The game will be made up on Thursday as part of a day-night doubleheader. Tickets for the Wednesdays game will be honoured for the 1:05 p. Andre Branch Black Jersey . Salamida, 29, has played the last four seasons with the Goldeyes. Returning to the team halfway through last season, he went 7-1 with a 2. KITCHENER, Ont. -- Edmontons Val Sweeting is two wins away from a trip to Winnipeg to play in Canadas Road of the Rings in December. Sweeting claimed a berth in the Page playoffs on Friday, beating Tracy Horgan of Sudbury, Ont., 5-3 in one of a pair of womens C-Event finals at the Olympic curling pre-trials. "It feels great," said Sweeting, who will face Calgarys Cheryl Bernard on Saturday. "We played really well today and we want to keep it up tomorrow and put ourselves in a position today. Thats what we did today. The team played really well, so to come out on top is confidence-boosting for sure." On Friday night, Sweeting had a tight game going with Horgan, who represented Ontario at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, through six ends. But with Horgan holding a slim 2-1 lead, Sweeting was able to make a clutch hit to score a game-changing three, and never looked back, although she needed to make a delicate tap with her final rock of the 10th end to nail down the win. Bernard, meanwhile, prevailed 10-8 in an extra end over Cathy Auld of Mississauga, Ont., in a topsy-turvy affair that saw Bernard race to a 5-2 lead through four ends, then fall behind 8-6 through nine. But Bernard made a spectacular triple takeout to score a game-tying deuce in the 10th, and then stole the winning pair in 11 when Auld was wide on her game-winning draw to bite the button. The winner of the Sweeting-Bernard game will move into Sundays qualifying game for the Roar of the Rings Canadian curling trials in Winnipeg -- the event that will decide Canadas teams for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Ziggy Hood Black Jersey. "We were definitely here to win," said Sweeting. "Were in a position to do that, so we have definitely met our expectations." The first womens Trials qualifier will be decided Saturday night between A-Event winner Kelly Scott of Kelowna, B.C., and B-Event winner Renee Sonnenberg of Grande Prairie, Alta. The loser of that game will play the Sweeting-Bernard winner. In mens play, reigning Brier champ Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., ran his win streak to four games on Friday night with a 9-6 win over Saskatoons Steve Laycock in the B-Event final. That set up a tantalizing Page playoff A-B game Saturday against A-Event winner John Morris and his Kelowna/Vernon, B.C., team. Jacobs took control of his game Friday night by scoring three in the fifth end, and then took advantage of a Laycock miscue in the ninth to score a deuce out of thin air. "Mission accomplished," said Jacobs. "Were in that A-B game, we have two shots to go to the Trials. We really came out and played well today, and we got a few breaks honestly. But sometimes you need those breaks to get the wins, and well take it." In C-Event play, meanwhile, Jake Higgs of Glencoe, Ont., stole a big deuce in the eighth end -- the turning point in an 8-7 win over Joe Frans of Bradford, Ont. Higgs advanced to a C-Event semifinal clash with 2006 Olympic gold-medallist Brad Gushue of St. Johns, N.L., while Frans was eliminated with the loss. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

Following a pair of lopsided losses in San Jose to begin the Western Conference quarterfinals, the Los Angeles Kings will aim for a better showing in front of the home crowd Tuesday at the Staples Center. Adidas Superstar 2 Aanbieding . Down 2-0 in the series, the Kings host Game 3 against a Sharks team that simply dominated them in the first two meetings of the best-of-seven series at SAP Center. Los Angeles trailed 5-0 en route to a 6-3 loss in Game 1. On Sunday, the Kings actually led 2-0 before San Jose scored seven unanswered goals to post a 7-2 blowout win and take a two-game lead in the series. Although losing by wide margins in Games 1 and 2 did not look good, the Kings and Sharks both know this series is far from over. Last spring, L.A. managed to come back from down 2-0 to win its first-round series in six games against the St. Louis Blues. In the next round, the Kings won all four of their home tilts to outlast San Jose in seven games. Of course, the Sharks also went 3-0 at home in that series and hold home-ice advantage in the 2014 rematch. Including the playoffs, Los Angeles has won eight straight and 10 of its last 11 home games against the Sharks. If the Kings fail to extend that home streak tonight, the club will face a do-or-die Game 4 on home ice this Thursday. All told, The Kings went 23-14-4 on home ice during the regular season. San Jose was 22-15-4. Kings forward JustinWilliams did his best to sum up his teams situation following Sundays setback. "It obviously stinks sitting here, talking after another lopsided loss," said Williams. "But they did what they set out to do and now its response time. Were going back to our arena. We won the first two in our arena last year and they came back and won the next two in theirs. So were looking to repeat that, but we need to start with one." JoePavelski collected a goal and two assists to lead the way in San Joses Game 2 victory. PatrickMarleau and LoganCouture added a score and a helper each for the Sharks, who managed to score more in the first two games of this years series (13) than in all of last years seven-game loss to the Kings (10). MikeBrown, RaffiTorres, JoeThornton and JustinBraun also recorded tallies, while AnttiNiemi shook off a shaky first period to record a 24-save victory. "Its just been a couple of great nights for us offensively," Braun said. "Shored up a few things defensively, Niemi has bailed us out a few times. But you cant be that disappointed with that many goals in two games. Its been good so far at home." JakeMuzzin and TrevorLewis provided first-period scores for the Kings, but L.A. failed to score over the final 50 minutes, 27 seconds of the game. "I dont really know if its one thing in particular," Kings captain DustinBrown said. "Again, we gave up a lot of odd-man rushes. Even in the first (period) when we were up 2-0, they had a lot of good chances. We need all 20 guys to be on top of their game." JonathanQuick was left in net for all seven goals on 40 shots. The Conn Smythe winner when L.A. won the Stanley Cup in 2012, Quick has a dreadful 7.22 goals against average and .824 save percentage in the first two games of this set. He was pulled from Game 1 midway through the third period, but Kings head coach Darryl Sutter didnt blame his goaltender for Sundays setback. "I thought he was fine tonight," Sutter said of Quick. "Hell tell you that he struggled in the first game." The 28-year-old Quick entered this postseason with a career playoff line of 29-21 with a 2.03 GAA and.929 save percentage. Quicks GAA now stands at 2.19 through 52 career playoff games and his save percentage has dipped to .924. Adidas Zx 700 Dames Sale . Adidas Superstar 2 . - Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob says the team is pushing back plans to build an arena on the San Francisco waterfront at least one year. ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders got some good news in free agency Thursday, one day after voiding top target RodgerSaffolds contract because of a bad shoulder. The Raiders signed defensive end JustinTuck and linebacker LaMarrWoodley to two-year deals in an effort to bolster their pass rush. ESPN reported that Tuck will be paid $11 million and Woodleys deal is worth up to $12 million. The two pass rushers have combined for 117.5 career sacks, reached double figures in a season seven times and have won three Super Bowl titles in their careers. Tuck joins the Raiders following nine seasons with the New York Giants during which he helped the team win two Super Bowl titles. Tuck has made two Pro Bowls and has 60.5 career sacks, 20 forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries in 127 career games with New York. "Last week, I absolutely did not see it coming," Tuck said. "It wasnt necessarily on my radar at that point in time, but everything accelerated pretty quickly, and Im excited. I really am. I like the direction that this team is talking about going in, and I just want to be a part of it." Woodley, 29, had 57 sacks in seven seasons in Pittsburgh and helped the Steelers win it all following the 2008 season. Woodley struggled with injuries the past three seasons but was still an effective rusher when healthy. He ended last season on injured reserve with a calf injury and the Steelers released him because of his high salary. After averaging 11 sacks per season from 2008-11, Woodley has only nine sacks in 24 games the past two years. He did have eight quarterback hits and 24 hurries and was one of the most efficient pass rushers last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Woodley played linebacker in Pittsburghs 3-4 defence but is also able to play defensive end in Oaklands four-man front. The Raiders need help on their pass rush after losing last years leading sacker and most consistent defender, LaMarrHouston, to Chicago in free agency. The other three starting defensive linemen -- PatSims, VanceWalker and JasonHunter -- are also free agents. Tuck, who turns 31 this month, was rated as the ninth best pass rushing defensive eend by Pro Football Focus last season when he had 11 sacks, 12 quarterback hits and 44 hurries. Adidas Tech Super 2.0 Leopard. Oakland has not had a player reach double figures in sacks since DerrickBurgess and WarrenSapp both did it in 2006. "Everyone talks about once you turn 30, its all downhill," Tuck said. "I dont believe in that. I dont look at myself in that regard. I feel like I have a lot of great football left in me." The Raiders have now made three free-agent additions this week, having previously signed right tackle AustinHoward to a five-year, $30 million deal. Running back DarrenMcFadden also agreed to re-sign with the Raiders on a one-year deal worth up to $4 million. Saffold was expected to be in the mix before the Raiders were scared off because of a shoulder injury and voided the five-year, $42.5 million contract that included $21.5 million in guarantees. Howard and Saffold were supposed to help anchor a rebuilt offensive line but now Oakland still needs to look for a left tackle to replace the departed JaredVeldheer. "We were excited about maybe getting the chance to play together," Howard said. "But thats the way this business works. Hes a tremendous guy, a tremendous athlete. I believe he really would have fit in well here and we would have been really excited to play together. Thats how it goes. Its very unfortunate." Oakland was burned last off-season by the acquisition of two players with existing injuries. Quarterback MattFlynn was acquired despite a shoulder injury and he lacked arm strength before being released early in the season. Oakland used a first-round pick on cornerback D.J. Hayden, who had a near-fatal heart injury in college. Hayden missed the entire off-season and was limited in training camp because of the injury and struggled his rookie year before a sports hernia injury sidelined him for the season in November. The Raiders could fill the left tackle void with last years second-round pick, MenelikWatson, who played sparingly as a rookie because of injuries, a draft pick or with a second-tier free agent after most of the top available left tackles have signed elsewhere. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

LAS VEGAS -- Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre says he has left no stone unturned for his weekend title defence against Johny (Bigg Rigg) Hendricks and is confident of winning at UFC 167. Carlos Zambrano Cubs Jersey . Hendricks, meanwhile, says he plans to keep the fight a standup affair and knock the champion out. And the challenger says while he likes GSP, he wants to kill him, adding -- in his words -- "not in that sense." The two welterweights face off Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. UFC president Dana White paid tribute to St-Pierre at the pre-fight news conference, calling the 32-year-old from Montreal his organizations "pay-per-view king." White says choosing GSP to headline the UFCs 20th-year anniversary show was a no-brainer and that the UFC was fortunate that the Canadians fighting schedule fitted in. The UFC boss said all of Canada loves GSP and "it doesnt suck" to come to Vegas at this time of year. St-Pierre arrived wearing a suit and tie while Hendricks opted for a lime green T-shirt under a black baseball cap. Jeff Samardzija Authentic Jersey . Cross-country skier Brian McKeever won the mens visually impaired 20-kilometre race on Monday.LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Two of the top freshmen in the country wont have a whole lot of time to get acclimated to college basketball before squaring off in an early season showdown. Try just four days each. Canadas Andrew Wiggins is the headliner for the most heralded class at Kansas in years, while Jabari Parker is the biggest name headed to Duke. The two of them will face each other Nov. 12 at the United Center in Chicago as part of a doubleheader that also features Michigan State-Kentucky. Two more programs boasting a slew of stellar freshmen. In an era of one-and-done superstars, the first-year players hitting the hardwood this season may trump any other year. Along with Wiggins and Parker, theres Kentuckys class of Julius Randle, Dakari Johnson, James Young and the Harrison brothers, Aaron and Andrew. Theres also Noah Vonleh at Indiana, Aaron Gordon at Arizona and Kasey Hill at Florida. All of them have the potential to be the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft next year. In the meantime, all of them will be trying to deliver an NCAA title. "We can be great, the best team in the country," Wiggins told The Associated Press. "We have a young team, the chemistry is really good. The first couple weeks of practice were hard for the freshmen, but everything is coming easier now, more fluid. So the potential is there." Potential is a dangerous word in college basketball. There are no sure bets. Plenty of highly touted players have flamed out before they ever earned a dime. It happens every year. But perhaps never before has a group of freshmen promised to make such a statement on the national stage. Just about every program with a chance to compete for a national championship this season will be counting on at least one first-year player to make an immediate impact. In the case of Kansas, its more than one. Wiggins may be the most recognizable name, but combo guard Wayne Selden and raw 7-footer Joel Embiid have the potential to be lottery picks. Theyre joined by a group of freshmen that includes sharpshooters Conner Frankamp, Frank Mason and Brannen Greene. "Theres as much hype around this year as any," Jayhawks coach Bill Self said, "and I think its a large part because of the unknown. Weve had other good players and other good teams return and this team hasnt proven itself at all. But the unknown has everyone excited." Kansas opens the season against Louisiana Monroe on Nov. 8, the same day Duke opens its season against Davidson. The two blue bloods -- and their blue cchippers -- collide four days later. Darwin Barney Cubs Jersey. On the same floor that night will be Kentucky coach John Caliparis latest bumper crop, which some pundits believe could be the best recruiting class in college basketball history. Randle is a bruising forward who can also play the wing. The Harrisons should form a dangerous backcourt. Johnson is a talented, athletic centre. Young is the quintessential wing scorer. Just like the newcomers at Kansas and Duke, though, theyll have to get accustomed to playing with each other in a hurry. The Wildcats play UNC-Asheville and Northern Kentucky before they head to Chicago for their high-profile date with the Spartans. "Let them get on the court," Calipari said. "Weve got some tough games early. Weve got one of the best schedules in the country. Weve got one of the most inexperienced teams in the country. So it will be interesting." Vonleh, a 6-foot-9 forward, should give the Hoosiers a bruising inside presence as they chase their second straight Big Ten title. Hell compete with Michigans Derrick Walton Jr., the heir to guard Trey Burke, among others for the honour of the leagues best freshman. Out in the desert, the 6-8 Gordon is already drawing comparisons to Blake Griffin -- much to the chagrin of Arizona coach Sean Miller, who is trying to temper expectations just a bit. "Hes extremely focused. Hes somebody that is tireless in his own approach to be great," Miller said. "But yet, at the same time, because of how he plays the game and conducts himself, hes a fun guy to have as a teammate. Hes a fun guy to have as part of your program." As high as expectations are for Gordon -- California coach Mike Montgomery called him "just a monster" -- theyre just as high for Hill, who is expected to take over for Kenny Boynton and run the point for Florida. Hell join a veteran team that includes forward Patric Young. "What you can do as a coach when you have an unknown -- youve never coached a guy, youve never been in a game with a guy, never been in a huddle with a guy -- I dont know how hes going to respond in certain situations," Florida coach Billy Donovan said. "Hes going to really have to be able to understand there is going to be a lot on him, but I dont need to overwhelm him." Good luck with that, Billy. Then again, considering all the touted freshmen wholl be playing important minutes for their teams this season, there are a whole lot of coaches worrying about the exact same thing. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

he puck by him,
Den Bosch, The Netherlands (SportsNetwork. Carlos Gomez Jersey .com) - Dutchwoman Michaella Krajicek won her opening match at the Topshelf Open on Monday, then got engaged after the match. Following Krajiceks 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 victory over Slovakias Jana Cepelova, she was surprised by boyfriend Martin Emmrich, a German on the ATP World Tour. He proposed on the court and Krajicek said yes. "It was a huge surprise," said Krajicek. "We spoke about marriage a couple of times before, but I didnt expect it now. Its very special. Im really happy and I feel so lucky that he did it like this. We met here one year ago and I think its such a very special place to do it." Other winners Monday included Belgiums Kirsten Flipkens, Spains Garbine Muguruza and the Czech Republics Klara Koukalova. The sixth-seeded Flipkens, last years runner-up, thumped Slovenias Polana Hercog, 6-4, 6-0, while the seventh-seeded Muguruza eased past Dutch wild card Lesley Kerkhove, 6-4, 6-2. Koukalova, the eighth seed, outlasted Spains Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor, 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-2. American qualifier Coco Vandeweghe advanced with a three-set win over New Zealands Marina Erakovic, while German qualifier Mona Barthel advanced with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Russian Maria Kirilenko. Germanys Annika Beck knocked off Israeli qualifier Julia Glushko in straight sets and the Ukraines Elina Svitolina dropped just three games in a pasting of Japans Kurumi Nara. The top four seeds are all set for play Tuesday. Simona Halep, the defending champion and top seed, will take on qualifier Olga Govortsova of Belarus, while second-seeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia will meet Kazakhstans Yaroslava Shvedova. Third seed Eugenie Bouchard of Canada will square off against American Vania King and fourth-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain will battle Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic. Matt Garza Authentic Jersey . -- The Anaheim Ducks realize theyre in for plenty of tight defensive games in the next seven weeks while the rest of the NHL attempts to catch them atop the standings. Martin Maldonado Jersey . A noon downpour turned the 2.25-mile, 13-turn circuit into a slippery strand of roadway, but Bourdais proved to be the best on rain tires. The French driver made it through the first two qualifying rounds and into the Fast Six.ST. JOHNS, N.L. -- Ben Chiarot doesnt expect much offence out of his team. So it wasnt a surprise for the defenceman that the IceCaps won -- he just didnt expect it to be so easy. "We dont usually score that many goals, our games are usually tight-checking games," said Chiarot. "To get five is good. Its nice." Chiarot scored and Eddie Pasquale made 24 saves as St. Johns beat the Hershey Bears 5-1 in American Hockey League action on Friday. Ben Chiarot, John Albert, Jason Jaffray, Austen Brassard and JC Lipon scored for the IceCaps (2-2-1). For Albert, Brassard and Jaffray, the goals marked their first of the season. Hershey forward Jeff Taffe scored for the Bears (0-2-1), while David Leggio made 35 saves. It was actually the second time this season St. Johns scored five goals after they did it in a 5-1 win over Providence on Oct. 5. "We are happy to get the two points and get some success," said IceCaps head coach Keith McCambridge. "We know they will be coming hard tomorrow, so we have to enjoy it for two minutes and then shift gears and get ready for tomorrow." McCambridge was happy with the teams offensive output, as well as their penalty-killing prowess in holding the Bears to just one power-play goal on six opportunities. "Offensively, we were pretty creative and for the most ppart we were able to not get too buried and not lose too much momentum when killing off penalties," he said. Scooter Gennett Jersey. Taffe opened the scoring with a wraparound power-play goal, sliding the puck under a sprawling Pasquale at the 12:31 mark of the first period. The IceCaps tied the game 28 seconds into the second, when a cross-crease pass found Lipon who hit a one timer on the doorstep into a wide-open net on the power play. At the 8:59 into the third, Chiarot put the home team in the lead on a shot through traffic, getting a deflection from a Hershey player on the way. "(Eric) ODell won the puck back from the faceoff and when I looked up I saw their guy was coming out pretty hard, so I just tried to get the puck by him," said Chiarot. "Their D-man tried to stop it and it deflected off his stick and went up and over their goalies shoulder. It was a bit of a lucky break, but we will take it." Jaffray doubled the lead for the IceCaps with a slapshot coming in over the blue-line at 10:13 in the third period. IceCaps forward Carl Klingberg then carried the puck over the blue-line, beating a defender wide and playing a pass across the crease for a wide-open Albert to finish. Brassard added more salt to the wound, breaking in the zone and beating Leggio high glove with 1:06 left in the game. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

e gap to 3-2.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Shin-Soo Choo Authentic Jersey . -- The Jacksonville Jaguars are not going to trade running back MauriceJones-Drew or linebacker PaulPosluszny. General manager Dave Caldwell made it clear Thursday that there is no firesale taking place in Jacksonville, which is 0-4 for the third time in franchise history and has scored a league-low 31 points. Caldwells comments came two days after he traded starting left tackle EugeneMonroe to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two third-day draft picks in 2014. There had been reports that trading Monroe might be the first step in a series of moves, and Jones-Drew and Posluszny were widely regarded as guys who could be next because they have value. Jones-Drew has rushed for 7,406 yards and 64 touchdowns in eight seasons. Posluszny ranks second in the NFL in tackles with 40. "Theyre not going anywhere," Caldwell said. "We feel good about those guys being here, nor do they want to go anywhere. Theyre part of this team and were excited about having them a part of this team." The Jaguars got a fourth- and a fifth-round pick in return for Monroe, the eighth overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft. Jacksonville now has 10 picks in 2014. "Youd like to have as many as you can get to build because you can trade for future picks," Caldwell said. "Sometimes you can take a 4 and turn it into a future 3 and take a future 3 and turn it into a future 2 and eventually you end up with two 1s at some point. It gives you a lot of flexibility. They always say cash is king, and in the NFL, draft picks are kind of your cash." Caldwell said in-season trades are difficult to orchestrate, which makes any more unlikely. "Theres a lot of speculation about trades and what teams should do and shouldnt do," he said. "Its hard to make a trade in season. Things really have to align the right way. You have to have a buyer. You have to have a seller. The team has to have salary-cap space. The team has to be willing to part with their player, and its not like its easy to fill in." Adrian Beltre Jersey . Louis Blues remain at the top spot of the TSN. Martin Perez Texas Rangers Jersey . The NFL club and Rogers Communications announced Wednesday theyve put the beleaguered Bills Toronto Series -- which features Buffalo playing exhibition and regular-season games at Rogers Centre -- on hold for at least a year.TORONTO -- While his players and Leaf Nation might be looking forward to Wednesdays Winter Classic against Detroit, Toronto coach Randy Carlyle is playing the role of Scrooge when it comes to the holiday season outdoor game. "I wasnt waving the pom-poms to be involved with it to start with," Carlyle said after a 5-2 win over Carolina on Sunday night. "Its been a trying time. "Specifically we havent played as well as wed like to hang our hat on. Our group, we believe, has got lots of room to grow, so that always put added pressure on. And then youre much more under the microscope if you can believe it. Were under the microscope with you (media) guys alone and then you add the element of HBO and then the event, theres a lot of factors. "Again were here to win hockey games and thats the most important thing and our focus is going to be on the game." Friends and family will be enjoying the event more than the actual participants, he suggested. The Leafs (20-16-5) head to Ann Arbor, Mich., on a winning note and having picked up points in their last five games. But they needed a pair of goals from sniper PhilKessel, solid goaltending from JonathanBernier and a few lucky bounces to dispose of the Hurricanes before a crowd of 19,452 at the Air Canada Centre. Carolina (14-16-9) outshot Toronto 43-27 on the night, only to see its winless streak stretch to five games. The Hurricanes have won only one of their last nine outings (a stretch that has featured four OT losses). "We had enough chances to win a hockey game," lamented Carolina coach KirkMuller. "The chances were there. They scored and we didnt." Carlyle agreed it had been a loose performance from the Leafs. "I thought at times we seemed like we were overmatched in a lot of areas," he said. The Hurricanes followed a popular, simple strategy against Toronto -- dumping the puck in and forcing the Leafs to play defence. "We havent been able to handle that or manage the game properly in that area and we have to get better at it," Carlyle said. Kessels second goal allowed him to reach the 20-goal plateau for the sixth straight season and he could have had more on the night, missing on two breakaways. Toronto also got goals from NikolaiKulemin, PaulRanger and DionPhaneuf, with an empty-net goal with eight seconds remaining. NathanGerbe and JustinFaulk replied for Carolina. Centre TylerBozak returned to the Leafs top line after a 12-game absence due to an oblique injury. He showed off some of his playmaking skills with three assists and made an important backcheck, snuffing out a Hurricanes threat. The Leafs were loose on defence and were fortunate the Hurricanes did not punish them more. "We had some lapses in the D-zone," said Bozak. "We got some good bounces as well ... The puck was kind of following us around tonight." The game marked the halfway point of the season for Toronto, while setting the table for playing in front of an exxpected crowd of 100,000-plus at the Big House. Neftali Feliz Jersey. . "Its going to be a pretty cool event," said Bozak. "I know most guys have lots of family here, including me. Im excited to get to Detroit and see what its all about." Added Ranger: "I think its going to be fun ... Backyard rinks, thats where I spent most of my childhood. Its just a bigger backyard rink." Leafs forward DavidClarkson went to the dressing room in the second period to have his elbow stitched up but returned in the third healthy enough to smash TuomoRuutu to the ice. "Probably the best period of hockey hes played for us," said Carlyle. The Leafs previous four games were shootouts -- a club-record streak that featured two wins and two losses. After surviving a horrendous start against Buffalo to win via a shootout Friday, it seemed like more of the same Sunday for the Leafs. Leading the league in giveaways with 475 going into the game, Toronto coughed it up 15 more times against the Hurricanes. Toronto also did not manage a shot on net until 11-plus minutes into a first period that saw the Leafs wobble at times in their own end. Bernier seemed the lone defender on duty and Toronto was lucky not to go down. The Leafs went ahead after a faceoff when Bozak dug the puck out to Kessel, whose backhand from behind the goal-line somehow went in off goalie CamWard for his 19th of the season at 16:56. It was perhaps payback for the freak goal that gave the Hurricanes a 3-2 win in Toronto in October when a bad bounce off the boards on a shoot-in bounced in off Bernier with the Leafs thinking icing might be called. The five-foot-five Gerbe tied it up at 1:36 of the second period after talking a pass from AlexanderSemin in the corner and beating Bernier from near the faceoff dot. Semin outmanoeuvred JakeGardiner to set up Gerbes ninth goal. Toronto pulled ahead with two goals in 76 seconds in the second period. A pretty passing play between Kessel and JamesVanRiemsdyk made it 2-1 at 13:42 with JVR unselfishly sending the puck back to Kessel from in-close. Kulemin then beat Ward with a shot from the top of the circle at 14:58 to make it 3-1, prompting Muller to call a timeout in a bid to stop the bleeding. It was Kulemins fifth of the season. A four-on-three helped the Carolina cause with Faulk scoring his third of the season on a slap shot with 2:17 remaining in the period to close the gap to 3-2. Ranger added an insurance goal at 4:58 of the third, firing a low shot through traffic that eluded Ward for the defencemans second goal of the season and the 100th point of his NHL career. For Toronto, it was Berniers 28th appearance of the season, compared to 18 for JamesReimer. Bernier has started nine of the last 15 games, with Reimer pulled during two of his six starts during that stretch. Carlyle refused to interpret the numbers when asked what it meant that Bernier had started three straight. "Hes played three straight games. That what it says." cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

NEW YORK -- The "laughingstocks" won in a laugher. Norichika Aoki Authentic Jersey . The Knicks resembled the division champions of a season ago rather than the biggest losers in New York, outplaying and even outtalking the Brooklyn Nets, who look like the real Big Apple busts. CarmeloAnthony had 19 points and 10 rebounds, ImanShumpert scored a season-high 17 points, and the Knicks ended a nine-game losing streak with 113-83 romp Thursday night in the first meeting of the season between the city rivals. "I think everybody looked like they had that feeling that we were tired of losing," Anthony said. "It showed from the tipoff." The Knicks (4-13) snapped a tie with the Nets (5-14) for most losses in New York, winning the game and the crowd with a dominant second half that had Spike Lee and the rest of the fans wearing blue and orange cheering perhaps the Knicks most complete performance of the season. AndreaBargnani scored 16 before he was ejected in the fourth quarter, Knicks fans roaring in support of him standing up to KevinGarnett. BrookLopez had 24 points and nine rebounds for the Nets, who again played without PaulPierce, DeronWilliams, or much passion in the second half. "Were struggling but were going to come out of this, man, thats the only way to think," Garnett said. "Im not going to think anything else." The game was nationally televised, as all four matchups are this season, but neither team had been giving fans much reason to watch. Nets coach JasonKidd said Tuesday that both teams "stink," and Anthony not only agreed but added that the Knicks were the "laughingstock" of the league. Nobody was laughing at the Knicks on this night. New York made a season-high 16 3-pointers in 27 attempts (59 per cent), rediscovering a stroke that has been missing all season after it set an NBA record for makes in 2012-13, and led by as many as 34 points. Shumpert, who has been the subject of trade rumours and has struggled, hit five 3s and added six rebounds. The Nets hung in while the Knicks made 16 of their first 21 shots overall and trailed by only seven at halftime "Youve got to give the Knicks credit. They came (for) the season shooting around 32 per cent. Tonight they looked like the team of last year where they made a lot of 3s," said Kidd, who played for the Knicks last season. "When they started the game off it didnt seem as if they were going to miss. But we stayed the course." Until the third quarter, that is, when their season-long woes in that period returned and the Knicks outscored them 34-16. When the public address announcer urged fans to stand and cheer before the fourth, they responded by booing, clearly sick of watching Brooklyn get hammered over the previous 12 minutes yet again. Tensions rose a couple of times, chiefly in the fourth quarter when Bargnani and Garnett became tangled as Bargnani fell to the court while trying to box out. Both players, along with Amare Stoudemire, were called for technical fouls, and Bargnani was hit with a second and thrown out shortly after when he appeared to say something toward Garnett after making a jumper. Garnett wouldnt discuss the incident, saying "I dont understand Italian" -- though Bargnani insisted whatever he said was in English. He also downplayed the exchange. "The most important thing is that we won the game, we played a great game and weve really got to start to build on this," Bargnani said. There were also double technicals and words exchanged after AndrayBlatche set a hard pick on Shumpert in the first half, but that was about all the fight the Nets showed on the way to their sixth straight home loss. Both teams were booed during the introduction of starting lineups by split fan bases who are united in their early season disgust. The Nets believed they were a championship contender after acquiring Garnett and Pierce from Boston, the centerpieces of a roster that will cost more than $180 million in salary and luxury taxes. The Knicks are second to the Nets in payroll but had never gotten going after losing TysonChandler to a broken leg in their fourth game of the season. But they were the better team right from the tip. The Knicks made 12 of their first 14 shots and were ahead 30-15 after Anthonys 3-pointer with 2:36 remaining in the opening quarter. NOTES: There was a moment of silence before the game for Nelson Mandela, South Africas first black president, who died Thursday at 95. Commissioner David Stern called Mandela "one of the most powerful and inspirational leaders in the world and a great friend of the NBA." ... The Knicks will try to end their seven-game home skid Friday against Orlando. Yordano Ventura Royals Jersey . Bergmann, who came ninth in Bad Gastein a year ago for his only previous top-10 result, defeated Andreas Prommegger of Austria in the final of the single-run format. Aaron March of Italy finished third by beating Sebastian Kislinger of Austria. Bo Jackson Jersey . Johnson, 34, appeared in three games for the Baltimore Orioles last season after being acquired from the New York Yankees organization on Aug. 30. The six-foot-two, 210-pound native of Coon Rapids, Minn.DUNEDIN, Florida The Blue Jays dropped to 3-2 in Grapefruit League action following an 8-2 loss to the Yankees at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium on Sunday. Right-hander ToddRedmond took the loss. JoseBautista hit his second home run of the spring. Here are a handful of tidbits from around camp: Hutchison impressive The Blue Jays are being cautious when talking about their young arms but internally, excitement is building over the way DrewHutchison is looking and performing this spring. Hutchison is among those looking to secure an available spot in the starting rotation. According to the official radar gun at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, DrewHutchisons four-seam fastball topped out at 94 miles per hour during Saturdays start against the Orioles. The Blue Jays have different, even more encouraging information. Scouts had readings as high as 96 miles per hour. Hutchison, as is his custom when hes on his game, was locating his pitches and working the corners of the plate. Hutchison threw two innings, didnt allow a run, gave up one hit and struck out four. He threw 38 pitches, 25 for strikes. Anthopoulos looking to deal The Blue Jays have an abundance of bullpen arms and general manager Alex Anthopoulos continues to dangle some of that pitching depth in an effort to upgrade the ballclub. Toronto is looking for starting pitching help, which may be found internally (see above on Hutchison,) and an established right-handed bat off the bench. SergioSantos, who was almost traded during the offseason, is a name that continues to come up in discussions. Seitzer thrilled with early returns New hitting coach Kevin Seitzer isnt just encouraged by the Blue Jays offensive start to spring training, hes thrilled. "I get goosebumps right now thinking about it," said Seitzer. "Getting timing in games is very, very difficult for hitters to do, especially early in camp. The quality of at-bats, the takes, the lack of panic, the plan, the approach, I couldnt be more pleased. They have been professionals every single day in their early work, batting practice routines. I havent heard one person complain about anything at all from an offensive standpoint." While BrettLawrie has missed the last two games due to hamstring tightness, hes impressed Seitzer early with his gap-to-gap approach. The two continue to work on limiting Lawries movement in the batters box, including lessening Lawries hand waggle. "Were eating this elephant one bite at a time and my focus is opening day to where hes dialing in," said Seitzer. "But where he continues to try and do it, quieting down, keep those hands still when hes loading, hes getting results. He took 96 mph the other way the other day on that lefty who had a good fastball and it was middle in. He didnt panic, he didnt force it, he didnt jerk, all he did was stay short and stay inside and he smoked a ball past first. The opposite field doubles hes hit driving the ball the other way, he told me right out of the gate that was his focus the last month and a half when he started to have some success." By the time he first met the media in January, during the winter caravan, second baseman RyanGoins had taken Seitzer up on an open invitation to visit his home in Kansas City. It was an opportunity for the two to become acquainted and lay a foundation for the work theyre doing this spring. Salvador Perez Royals Jersey. Seitzer believes Goins could be a .270 or .280 hitter in the big leagues, suggesting he has the mental acumen to develop into a .300 hitter. "I dont like dropping ceilings on guys because you just never know," said Seitzer. "You never know how hes going to be able to handle big-league pitching on a daily basis and be able to make the adjustments that he needs to make. But so far, everything Ive seen has been very good, very positive, that hes going to be able to make those adjustments that he needs to make. But that remains to be seen, theres been a lot of hitters that Ive worked with that are really good in the cage, in batting practice but then putting it into the game is the last big challenge. But I think mentally and emotionally, hes tough enough to have the discipline to be able to do that everyday." Janssen sore CaseyJanssen is dealing with stiffness in his pitching shoulder, which has prevented him from maintaining a normal spring schedule, including regular bullpen sessions and appearances in Grapefruit League games. "I think its just the inflammation," said Janssen. "Its going to subside. Just take a couple of days off and get right back on and start throwing again." Janssen underwent an MRI, which revealed inflammation in the back of his shoulder, where the decelerator muscles are located. Last spring and for most of last season, Janssen was hampered by soreness in his rotator cuff, the result of surgery he had in the 2012-2013 offseason. "It always sucks but I think I know how to get ready," he said. "I was looking forward to a normal spring, coming with all the guys and thats what I was expecting but unfortunately, I havent been in a game yet and all the other stuff but Ill get there. Eyes are on opening day like they always were." Janssen wont pick up a baseball for at least two more days. Hell attempt to play long toss and if his shoulder reacts positively, hell progress to bullpen sessions and then work his way into games. Rasmus Scratched ColbyRasmus was in manager John Gibbons Sunday lineup but removed himself due to a stiff neck. "I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," said Rasmus. "Got a little crink in my neck. Just one of those things, after throwing and warming up, I just feel like I need to take myself out just as a precaution. In a couple of days, I should be fine." Clubs typically travel skeleton rosters to far away places and so its likely Rasmus wasnt going to play on Monday in Fort Myers, against the Twins, anyway. He hopes to return on Tuesday. "Normally you throw some hot sauce on there and go about your business," said Rasmus. "It just kind of locked up a little tighter." Yankees almost smoked out The Yankees briefly considered evacuating the visitors clubhouse before Sundays game at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium when smoke from an over-heated dryer began to waft into the locker room. The matter was quickly brought under control. Perez and Ohka reassigned Left-hander Juan Perez and right-hander TomoOhka, whos making a comeback attempt as a knuckleball pitcher, have been reassigned to minor league camp. The Blue Jays now have 58 players remaining in major league camp. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

TAMPA, Fla. Kosuke Fukudome Cubs Jersey . -- Yasuhito Endo, Shinji Kagawa and Yoichiro Kakitani scored second-half goals Monday to help Japan warm up for its World Cup appearance with a 3-1 victory over Costa Rica. After Bryan Ruiz scored for Costa Rica in the 31st minute, Japan failed to take advantage of several opportunities before breaking through when Endo scored in the 60th. Kagawa put Japan ahead in the 80th minute, and Kakitani added his goal in injury time before a crowd of 7,106 at Raymond James Stadium. The teams have one more warm-up match in the United States, with Japan facing Zambia in Tampa and Costa Rica meeting Ireland in Philadelphia on Friday. Both teams open their World Cup campaigns on June 14. Japan, preparing for its fifth straight World Cup, will open against Ivory Coast in Group C, while Costa Rica meets Uruguay in Group D. Four years ago, Japan beat Cameroon and Denmark before losing on penalties to Paraguay in the knockout stage of the World Cup. In addition to facing Uruguay, Japan will play Colombia and Greece in the group stage. Italy and England complete the group that includes Costa Rica and Uruguay. Costa Rica opened the scoring when Ruiz scored off a pinpoint cross from Junior Diaz. Costa Rica -- headed to the World Cup for the fourth time -- was unable to put much pressure on Japan goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima after Ruizs goal. Welington Castillo Authentic Jersey . The Italian came from behind to overtake Jarlinson Pantano in the final 50 metres and edge out Dario Cataldo on the line after a climb to the sanctuary of Oropa, the scene of Marco Pantanis memorable victory in 1999. Travis Wood Jersey . Beaulieu has four goals and 10 assists in 32 AHL games and had one assist in five games for Montreal this season. The 23-year-old Nattinen has five goals and six assists in 37 games for the Bulldogs this season.NEWARK, N.J. -- MarshawnLynch was there. He even talked a bit. Then he was gone, cutting short his Super Bowl media day appearance after 6 1-2 minutes. And then he was back, albeit to the side of the "mixed zone" the NFL created for players not on podiums or in microphone-equipped speaking areas at the Prudential Center. But this time he wasnt speaking, except briefly to DeionSanders for NFL Network, to the Seahawks website, and to Armed Forces Network. Seattles star running back, wearing a cap, hood and dark sunglasses, even acknowledged he was trying to avoid being fined by the league for not meeting his media requirements Tuesday. Thats why he returned to the floor of the arena rather than disappear completely after he cut short his Q and A with perhaps 100 media members packed together trying to hear his pearls of wisdom. When he came back, one reporter asked Lynch, "Are you trying to avoid being fined by standing here?" Lynch twice nodded his head yes. Earlier this month, Lynch was fined $50,000 for not co-operating with the Seattle media. The NFL put the fine on hold, saying it would be rescinded if he complied with media obligations. "Players are required to participate and he participated. We will continue to monitor the situation," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Tuesday. Lynch has required media sessions Wednesday and Thursday. The Seahawks play the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Along with letting slip a profanity to Sanders, he three times described himself as "smooth" to the Hall of Fame cornerback, adding: "I aint never seen no talk that won me nothing." Earlier, Lynch answered 16 questions at the outset of the Seahawks one-hour availability, with topics ranging from the Denver defence to teammate MichaelRobinson to, well, why he avoids interviews. "I like to keep it low key," said Lynch, who the Seahawks opted to nott place in one of the 17 areas with microphones and name plates identifying the players. Jeff Samardzija Authentic Jersey. "Im just about action. You say hut and theres action. All the unnecessary talk, it dont do nothing for me. I appreciate that people want to hear from me, but I just go to work and do my thing. You feel me?" Whether Lynch will feel like showing up the next two days, when the Seahawks will be available in a hotel ballroom -- no barriers between them and the media -- is uncertain. Lynch also talked to teammates while standing around. Several youngsters in the stands above him asked to have footballs signed and he obliged once they tossed him the souvenirs. He also signed a Seahawks helmet, but he didnt converse with the fans. While he did that, about five dozen media members stood in front of Lynch and shouted out a few questions. He ignored almost all of them as time ran out in Seattles availability. Lynch watched as the scoreboard clock counted down to zero and, when it was announced the Seattle portion of media availability was over, he left for good. "Hes such a major factor on our football team," coach Pete Carroll said, "but in this setting he becomes somewhat of a recluse and doesnt want to be a part of it. We try and respect that as much as we can." Robinson was asked if he advised his backfield mate on how to handle media day. "Hes a grown man," Robinson said. "I dont tell him much. I think he knows what hes doing. Hes got a good plan in place, and as long as he runs inside-outside zone on Sunday, Im happy with that." Lynch never has explained his beef with the media. He regularly spoke to reporters until late in the 2012 season. In March of that year, he signed a four-year contract worth $31 million, including a guaranteed $18 million. In July 2012, he was arrested for driving under the influence near his hometown of Oakland, Calif. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

OAKLAND, Calif. jerseys from china . - Relaxed, relieved and ready to resume their championship chase, the Los Angeles Clippers tried to get back some sense of normalcy Wednesday after a week unlike any other in NBA history. Clippers coach Doc Rivers says his team is not past the "distraction" caused by owner Donald Sterlings racist remarks caught on an audio recording. While NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has banned Sterling from the league for life and asked owners to force a sale of the franchise, Rivers says plenty of uncertainty will remain until a new ownership group is in place. The Clippers can at least take another step forward on the court when they try to eliminate the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 on Thursday night in Oakland. Los Angeles leads the first-round series 3-2. jersyes nfl wholesale .m. Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Seattle Sounders FC hopes to rebound from a mid-week loss at D.C. "It is my feeling the club is at a stage that is critical to our on-field expectations and this move was necessary," Hervey told a news gathering hours after he informed Reed he was gone after three years as head coach.CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- When MichaelJordan speaks, people still listen. The Charlotte Bobcats owner praised his team during a pregame locker room speech Friday night, but warned his players its only going to get tougher from here on out. Jordan spoke directly about the Bobcats potentially making the playoffs -- something that seemed inconceivable five months ago for a team that was 7-59 and 21-61 the previous two seasons. "He talked to them about the progress that he had seen and praised them for their attitude and togetherness as a team," coach Steve Clifford said. "And he let them know, which I thought was perfect, the toughest part is ahead. We made our first step and it now gets tougher. It was a great message." A message that apparently inspired the Bobcats, currently seventh in the Eastern Conference. AlJefferson scored 28 points, KembaWalker had 20 points and 14 assists, and the Bobcats (29-33) defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 101-92 for their sixth straight win at home, surpassing their win total from the previous two seasons combined. It was an important win for the Bobcats, who improved to 3-0 this season against the Cavaliers and now own the tiebreaker against both Detroit and Cleveland, the ninth- and 10th-place teams in the East. "If that dont motivate you, I dont know what will," Jefferson said of Jordan addressing the team. Clifford said he asked Jordan to speak to the players before the game and he gladly accepted the invitation. He said players were "locked in" to every word Jordan spoke. "Lets face it, if youre coaching anywhere, he would be the first guy that you would say, Would you mind coming to talk to our team?" Clifford said. "Im saying hes our owner and, shoot, you are always looking for a little edge. I thought it was perfect." Said Jefferson: "He told us he was proud of us, but we have a long way to go. We cant be happy with what we have done so far. We have to continue to grow and get better." It was a huge loss for Cleveland. DionWaiters and LuolDeng each scored 19 points for the Cavaliers, who began the night 3 1/2 games behind Atlanta for the final playoff spot in the East. They now trail Charlotte by 5 1/2 games. "It hurts," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. "Especially knowing where were sitting and where theyre sitting right now, its a tough loss. cheap jerseys. quot; Jefferson shot 12 of 18 from the field and reached 20 points for the 22nd time in his last 24 games. ChrisDouglas-Roberts added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and a season-high nine rebounds. Charlottes six-game home winning streak is its longest since a seven-game run in March 2010. "There are 20 games left and its time to start talking about the playoffs -- about not just qualifying but getting our team game-ready for the playoffs and guys getting their individual games ready," Clifford said. The Bobcats defeated the Cavaliers by six points in each of the two previous meetings this season without Jefferson, who sat out both games with a sprained ankle. Jefferson had 38 points against Miami and 34 in a win over Indiana this week, and was a big factor from the outset against the Cavaliers. He used a series of pump fakes and up-and-under moves to fool the Cavaliers, and continued to knock down his mid-range jump shot. The 6-foot-10 centre scored 18 points in the first half on 8-of-10 shooting to help Charlotte build a 55-50 lead at the break despite the Cavaliers shooting 55 per cent from the field. Cleveland took an 81-80 lead on a pair of free throws by Waiters with 7 minutes left in the game. But Walker matched that with two free throws of his own and knocked down a jumper to spark a 15-5 run that put Charlotte safely ahead. The Cavaliers shot just 32 per cent in the second half, and Charlotte held KyrieIrving to 13 points on 5-of-17 shooting. Irving came in averaging 24.5 points in his previous four games in Charlotte. Waiters said its not too late for the Cavaliers to make a playoff push. But theyll need to play much better than they did Friday night. "We have a chance and a shot, so why not? Why not us?" Waiters said. "Weve got to have a sense of urgency. The clock is ticking. The games are running out. Making the playoffs is right there and weve got a great opportunity." NOTES: Bobcats guard GeraldHenderson missed his third straight game with a right calf strain. ... AndersonVarejao (back) and C.J.Miles (ankle) were back at practice this week but didnt make the trip to Charlotte, which meant SpencerHawes and TristanThompson were left to defend Jefferson. ... JoshMcRoberts added 11 points and seven assists for the Bobcats. cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |

Urijah Faber cant wait to hear the cheers when he climbs into the cage in Sacramento on Saturday night. Pierre Garcon Authentic Jersey . The California Kid loves fighting in his hometown, and hes bringing a whole bunch of his friends along with him when he takes on Michael McDonald. "Im a big guy on energy," Faber said. "Being in a place thats really comfortable and having a crowd thats going to be putting off some great vibes and having my whole team with me is going to be huge." The UFC is back in Californias capital city this weekend for a show that might as well be called the Team Alpha Male Invitational. Faber and three of his teammates are all competing on the card, headlined by UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnsons title defence against Alpha Males Joseph Benavidez. Benavidez is in the main event, but the star attraction is Faber (29-6), who hasnt been the hometown favourite for a while. He is fighting in Sacramento for the first time in nine bouts since April 2010, and for the first time since he joined the UFC when the lower-weight WEC promotion was absorbed by the sports dominant organization. Faber is on a roll with three straight stoppage victories in 2013, and the former UC Davis wrestler should be in line for a bantamweight title shot if he gets past McDonald (16-2), who has won nine of his last 10 fights. Hes grateful for the chance to do it at home. "As Ive matured and gotten older and understand things a little bit better, I just realize how important it is to stay behind a community," Faber said. "And I feel like Ive really become a part of this community on bigger level. Were fighting for a lot of different things. Were fighting for the pride of an area. Were fighting for the economy. It was really cool to see everyone come together and save the Kings, so I see this is as me and my guys doing our part." McDonald isnt an Alpha Male, but hes also NorCal to the core, born and raised in Modesto -- and hes 12 years younger than the 34-year-old Faber. McDonald lost his bantamweight title shot in February when Renan Barao stopped him, but bounced back with a submission victory over Brad Pickett in August. McDonald got into the sport during Fabers rise to the top, and he isnt worried about getting local love in Sacramento. "I dont really think about it so much at all," McDonald said. "No matter where I am, whether Im in England or Washington or San Jose, I really dont look at the crowd. I dont think about the crowd. I actually completely disconnect myself from everybody before the fight. Afterward Ill go out and Ill enjoy it, but I just do like I have something on my mind." The arena thats normally home to the NBAs Sacramento Kings will host the towns MMA royalty. Alpha Male coach Duane Ludwig will be busy with fighters in each of the cards last three bouts, but Faber believes his team can handle it. Alpha Males Chad Mendes takes on Nik Lentz in a 145-pound bout, and teammate Danny Castillo has the earliest fight against Edson Barboza. The main card on Fox also features crowd-pleasing lightweight Joe Lauzon against Mac Danzig. The scheduling already helped the Alpha Males with their training, since all four fighters ramped up their workouts on a similar timetable. "I think its all positive," Faber said. "Everybody is working toward the same goal, and the attention level is there. Everyone is understanding you have to take care of each others bodies, so youre not getting too beat up. Were basically a (family) anyway, but its nice to have that focus all at one time." Sonny Jurgensen Redskins Jersey . NHL hockey is returning to the Manitoba capital. The True North Sports and Entertainment group announced on Tuesday that they have completed a deal to purchase the Atlanta Thrashers and move them to Winnipeg in time for the 2011-12 season. GOLD COAST, Australia -- American Cheyenne Woods will take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Australian Ladies Masters after shooting a 2-under 71 on Saturday to stay on track for her first professional victory. The 23-year-old niece of TigerWoods had a three-round total of 12-under 207 at the Royal Pines Resort. Stacey Lee Bregman of South Africa, who shared the lead with Woods at the start of the round, had a 72 to hold second place, a stroke ahead of 17-year-old Minjee Lee, the Australian amateur champion, who shot a 69. Woods mixed seven birdies with five bogeys in a choppy third round, finishing strongly with four birdies on her last five holes. Bregman had four birdies and three bogeys, taking second place with a long birdie putt at the par-5 18tth. Sonny Jurgensen Authentic Jersey. Woods acknowledged she felt nervous through the round, and such anxiety will only heighten on Sunday as she tries to join her famous uncle among golfs trophy winners. "Im proud with how I was able to fight through today," she said. "Tomorrows just going to be another day to get through. "It would be a huge accomplishment (to win). Playing well this week, Im already happy with how its been going but to have that win would just be the cherry on top. Especially to start out my year." Lee made a strong, double-birdie finish to her round, giving her confidence to press for a professional win. "This is what every golfer wants really," Lee said. "Ill just play my own game and see where it takes me." cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys ' ' ' |
