ARE, Sweden - Canadas Olympic champion Marielle Thompson raced to silver at a ski cross World Cup on Saturday, and remains poised to capture the overall season title. Salvador Perez Royals Jersey . The 21-year-old from Whistler, B.C., who won gold at last months Sochi Olympics, lost out to her rival Fanny Smith of Switzerland, but still leads the womens standings with 660 points over Smith and 26-time World Cup winner Ophelie David of France. "If the overall comes I will be really happy because Ive worked really hard this year, but Fanny has too," Thompson said. "I think it will come down to the last race. It was tight out of the start today, and in the final I didnt have my best start." Swedish teenager Sandra Naeslund won the bronze. Thompson made history in 2012 when she became the first Canadian to win an individual ski cross Crystal Globe. Shes been the picture of consistency this season, winning gold in Sochi plus five World Cup podiums. Shes been in the top five in all nine World Cup races. Georgia Simmerling of West Vancouver, B.C., finished 11th overall after being eliminated in the quarter-final stage. Danie Sundquist of Calgary was also knocked out in the quarter-finals to finish 16th. Swedens Victor Oehling Norberg won the mens race. Backed by a partisan home crowd, Oehling Norberg won every heat and grabbed 1,000 points before Jonathan Midol of France and Swiss Armin Niederer, who got 800 and 600 points, respectively. Oehling Norberg remains in the overall lead with 521 points, ahead of Swiss Alex Fiva and Andreas Matt from Austria. It was a disappointing day for Canadas men. Dave Duncan of London, Ont., who was leading the overall standings prior to Saturdays race, went out in the qualification round. Chris Del Bosco of Montreal, Calgarys Brady Leman, Mathieu Leduc of Comox, B.C., and Louis-Pierre Helie of Berthierville, Que., all failed to make the quarter-finals. Salvador Perez Authentic Jersey . Its been a successful Games for Canada, which will finish near the top of the medal standings again. From repeat gold medal winners to multiple medal winners to undefeated teams to acts that define the Olympic spirit, there are many solid candidates who could be considered to receive the honour. George Brett Jersey . Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood launched himself down the touchline pumping his fists after Gylfi Sigurdsson completed a fight back from 2-0 down at home to Southampton to win 3-2. The victory kept Tottenham in touch with the Champions League places, with the London club six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.Torontos Melvin Ejim accomplished much more than just one record-setting game this season. The Iowa State senior forward has a unique top-10 standing in the Big 12. The 6-foot-6 Ejim was named Monday as The Associated Press Big 12 Player of the Year. He joined Kansas Andrew Wiggins of Vaughan, Ont., the leagues Freshman of the Year, as unanimous All-Big 12 first-team selections. Ejim, whose 48-point game against TCU last month set a Big 12 single-game scoring record, is the leagues only player in the top 10 in scoring and rebounding. He ranks second in both categories, averaging 18.2 points and 8.6 rebounds. "To see the progression of Melvins basketball career from where he came in as a freshman, very raw ... it just shows when you put a lot of work into your game, its going to pay off, and it certainly helps with your culture," Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg said of the A-student history major. "Hes a great leader and young guys see what hes doing and the impact that has on our team and our program." Only Iowa State had two first-team players. Ejim was joined in the top five by 6-4 senior teammate DeAndre Kane, a transfer from Marshall who was the unanimous pick for Newcomer of the Year. Kane averaged 17.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists. "Three great years at Marshall, but had never reached the tournament," Hoiberg said. "I know that was huge for him, and hes going to get that opportunity." Oklahoma State sophomore guard Marcus Smart and West Virginia junior guard Juwan Staten, the Big 12s leader with 18.4 points and 5.94 assists per game, rounded out the first-team selections that matched the coaches picks released Sunday. Smart was the AP Big 12s top player and top freshman last year, when he was only the third player to win both of those awards in the same season. His scoring average was better this season at 17.9 points and he led the league with 2.7 steals a game,, but also was suspended three games during conference play after shoving a fan at Texas Tech. Justin Maxwell Royals Jersey. Oklahomas Lon Kruger, who led the Sooners to a No. 2 seed in this weeks conference tournament, was selected as the AP Big 12 Coach of the Year with 11 of the 18 votes from a panel of AP sports writers and sportscasters who cover the league on a regular basis Ejim got 11 votes for top player, becoming the first Iowa State player to win that AP award since Jamaal Tinsley in 2001, a year after Cyclones standout Marcus Fizer. Wiggins, who capped the regular season with 41 points Saturday in a loss at West Virginia, got four Player of the Year votes, and the remaining votes were split by Kane, Smart and 7-foot Kansas freshman centre Joel Embiid. Wiggins got 17 votes for Freshman of The Year. Embiid, who got the other vote for top freshman, headed up the AP All-Big 12 second team that also includes Oklahoma States Markel Brown, Kansas State freshman Marcus Foster, Oklahoma sophomore Buddy Hield and Baylors Cory Jefferson. Kruger is 58-36 in his three years at Oklahoma, and last season with the Sooners became the first NCAA Division I coach to take five different programs to the NCAA tournament. They finished the regular season with a 97-67 win at TCU, their fifth win in six games. "Its always satisfying when your guys play well and play with enthusiasm and get good results," Kruger said. "This league is so deep ... if we can be in that group right after Kansas, were in a very good group of basketball teams, so I feel good about it." Kansas coach Bill Self, whose Jayhawks clinched their 10th Big 12 title in a row with a young group, got five votes for top coach. Texas Rick Barnes got the other two. In their voting, Big 12 coaches also tabbed Ejim as top player, Kane top newcomer and Wiggins as the leagues outstanding freshman. They differed on the top coach, selecting Barnes. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. Mike Trout Jersey . -- Frank Klopas was happy with his players effort Saturday night. The officiating, on the other hand, left the Montreal Impact coach frustrated and angry. Dillon Powers scored on an early penalty kick to give the Colorado Rapids a 1-0 lead, and three goals in the second half helped them cruise to a 4-1 win over Montreal. Klopas expressed his dissatisfaction with referee Chris Penso, who made the call that awarded Colorado the penalty kick, after the game. "We were controlling the game and its unfortunate," Klopas said. "When the referee is a protagonist in the game its never good. So its a shame. He did a very, very poor job. For me, he had a very bad game." Powers, Kamani Hill and Shane ONeill scored in the second half as Colorado (5-4-3) snapped a two-game losing streak. Powers penalty-kick goal came in the fifth minute of the match, on what the Impact considered a borderline call on midfielder Sanna Nyassi. "Whatever the call was they still had a point-blank shot that was saved," midfielder Justin Mapp said. "Looks like a pretty good advantage to me. Not sure what the call is there." For a team that has struggled to find some footing away from home it was a tough night. The Impact (1-6-4) kept it close until the second half, but Colorado scored two goals in a span of five minutes to put it away. Anders Romero scored the lone goal for Montreal, which is now 0-4-2 on the road. "For us, we have to regroup fast," Klopas said. "We have the Canadian final coming up." The Impact had some chances right after Powers penalty kick but couldnt cash in. Mapp got through the defence on the left side and put a shot on Colorado goalie Clint Irwin, who made the save in the eighth minute. Mapp had another chance in the 16th minute but couldnt convert, and he hit a post in the 50th minute with his team down just a goal. He also was taken down in the box but no call was made, which didnt sit well with the Impact. "I thought so but I might be a little biased," Mapp said when asked if the takedown should have resulted in a penalty kick. An offside call that negated a goal by Issey Nakajima-Farran in the 66th minute added to the frustration. "I know the game is fast and people make mistakes, but today when we can talk mainly about the decisions of the referee its never good," Klopas said. The Rapids had several chances early but some good defence and key saves kept the Impact close. Deshorn Brown got a step on midfielder Patrice Bernier and then deked goaltender Troy Perkins in the 14th minute, but as Brown got a low shot off, Bernier slid behind Perkins to kick away the shot. "Once he dribbled I saw he didnt really see me coming from behind," Brenier said. "I dove, made a play and kept us at 1-0. Cant give up." Later, Brown leaped over midfielder Wandrille Lefevre but hit the post. Those near misses didnt cost the Rapids, however. Goals by Hill in the 54th minute and ONeill in the 59th gave the Rapids a 3-0 lead. Hills goal, his first since October 2012, came at the top of the box and faded over Perkins outstretch arm. ONeill dropped his shot over Perkins and just under the crossbar to make it 3-0. Powers finished the rout when he spun at the top of the box and sent a low shot past Perkins in the 84th minute for his second of the game. Romero scored his second goal of the season with a strong individual effort. He took the ball from the sideline, dribbled past three defenders and beat Irwin with a shot to the far post in the 88th minute. "It was a great goal. It just seems for us we have to score a goal for the Oscars," Klopas said. "We had some good chances. It is what it is. My players, they gave everything. Theres nothing I can complain about." Custom Angels Jersey . Olivieri, at city hall to help kick off ticket sales for the Aug. 5-24 event to be held in four Canadian cities, said Wednesday that Canada has a new generation of talent on the rise that can make its name just as Sinclair did at the same event in 2002 in Edmonton. C.J. Wilson Jersey .ca Fantasy Editor Scott Cullen, NFL Editor Ben Fisher, and Isaac Owusudiscuss three hot fantasy football topics. This November two teams will compete for the 102nd Grey Cup Championship. One hundred and two years of professional football in our country, and during that time, only five quarterbacks have thrown for 50,000 yards or more. This coming weekend, in Edmonton ironically, Ricky Ray of the Argos can become the sixth. He is 367 yards away, which means he would have to have the second-best game of the 2014 campaign. But in his career Ray has thrown for over 300 yards 73 times, and in 23 of those games he has thrown for over 367 yards, so it is within the realm of possibility. Some may not think it is all that impressive of a milestone, and will say, "if you play long enough, then you should accumulate yards." However, that is exactly why it is so impressive. If you break down the numbers, to get to 50K you need to throw for 5,000 yards per year for ten years. Now 5,000 yards per year is no walk in the park, in fact the future Hall of Famer has only crossed that threshold three times in his eleven years in the league and averages just over 4,300 yards per season. So if youre averaging just over 4,000 yards, which puts a quarterback in the elite category, now youre looking at having to play one of the most physically demanding sports on the planet for 12 years or more, and all 12 years have to be at that elite level. Now consider the physical pounding a quarterback takes, and the pressure that they are under, and it starts to become hard to imagine that a player can even stay in the game that long, let alone play at that level for that long. The 50K club is an impressive list, and its topped by Anthony Calvillo. He is pro footballs all-time leading passer at almost 80,000 yards, a number that seems out of anyones reach in the modern era. Calvillo is followed by Damon Allen, Danny McManus, Henry Burris, and the late Ron Lancaster. All are Grey Cup Champions, all league Most Outstanding Players, and all were older than Ray when they did it, well barely older in the case of AC. Calvillo hit 50K on July 14, 2007 at the age of 34 years, 10 months and 22 days. It took Allen much longer as he hit the mark on October 22, 2000 at 37 years old. McManus got there on October 21, 2004 at just over 39 years old. Burris hit the milestone on September 13, 2013 at 38 years old and Ronny set the mark on October 1, 1978 in his 256th start and he was a month away from turning 40. Keep in mind, Lancaster played in a different era where George Reed and the running game was prominent. If Ray gets there in Edmonton on Saturday afternoon it will be in his 181st start at the age of 34 years, 10 months and 2 days. Exactly 19 days younger than Calvillo when he got to 50K. So if he does it on Saturday, not only will he be the youngest to get there, but based on a stat that is always kept in football, but is rarely talked about, he will be the most efficient. It is called the quarterback efficiency rating and requires a complicated mathematical formula. It isnt talked about all that often because it just takes too long to explain. However, it is a way to rate a quarterbacks level of play by using all of the stats involved in the position, like complletion percentage, touchdown passes and interceptions to name a few. Rod Carew Authentic Jersey. A perfect quarterback efficiency rating is 158.3. If we take a look at that 50K club, Ricky Ray will top the list when it comes to career quarterback efficiency rating. 50,000 Yard Club Player Yards Rating > RICKY RAY 49,653 98.2 Anthony Calvillo 79,816 95.5 Henry Burris 52,908 93.3 Damon Allen 72,381 83.8 Danny McManus 53,255 76.0 Ron Lancaster 50,908 72.4 Of the six players breathing the rarified air of the 50,000-plus club, Ray will be the youngest to get there, and will have been the most efficient quarterback on the list. This Saturday, fans in Edmonton have an opportunity to watch live a little history in the making. This will be the number one storyline in the game, and is the biggest story whether Ray gets the 367 or not. If he does it will be in the city where he racked up over 40,000 of his 50,000 yards, and if he doesnt get there it will be because a fired up Edmonton defence doesnt want it to happen on their shift. Either way it is a huge story. This week Ray will be humble as always, and downplay the milestone to try and keep the focus on the team. He will give credit to his teammates along the way and the coaches that have helped him get there, and will continue to be a great ambassador of the game. That humility and respect for the game, and the opponent, is a character trait consistent with all the members of the 50K club. They have all been great players, but even better people. They are players that were always professional, always accommodating to the fans, and always putting the team first. Oh, and one side note. Doug Flutie played for seven and a half years in the CFL and during that time passed for over 5,500 yards per year throwing for a total of 41,355. As mentioned earlier, if he does it this weekend Ray will hit 50K mark younger than any quarterback in the club, a fact that wouldnt have changed if Flutie played another year and a half in the CFL. On Fluties pace he would have hit 50K if he stayed in the CFL at about midway through the 1999 season. We can estimate that at around Labour Day he would have been 36 years old, a full two years older than Ray. In that U.S.-born players in the CFL usually arrive in Canada at different times in their careers, the actual age of Ricky Ray compared to the rest of the 50K club may not seem all that relevant. Unless you start to wonder as I did, what the final number could be for the former Sacramento State star. Ray is almost the exact same age as Calvillo was when he set the mark back in July of 2007. AC went on to play another six years and totaled almost 80,000 yards, a number that most think is unreachable. Or is it? wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

SYDNEY, Australia -- The agent for five-time Olympic gold medallist Ian Thorpe says the 31-year-old Australian will never swim again after contracting two potentially-deadly infections while undergoing shoulder surgery. Royals Jersey . James Erskine said Tuesday that Thorpe was "quite sick" in a Sydney hospital but dismissed media reports the swimmer might lose the use of his left arm. "Hes not in the intensive care," Erskine said. "Hes just battling away. Hes spent weeks in hospital so its, from that point of view, a bit grim ... serious but not life-threatening." Erskine said Thorpe contracted the infections during a series of operations on his shoulder at a clinic near his home in the Swiss town of Ronco sopra Ascona. "From a competitive point of view he will not be swimming competitively again I dont think," Erskine said. "The shoulder operation was a major operation." In February, Thorpes father revealed the swimmer is battling depression. The revelation followed an incident in which police were called when Thorpe was found in a disoriented state in a street near his parents Sydney home. He was taken to hospital for medical assessment and was found to have taken a combination of antidepressants and medication for his shoulder injury. Thorpe has since entered a rehabilitation program. The 29-year-old Bailey was 3-1 with a 3.77 ERA and eight saves in 13 chances for the World Series champions, making 30 appearances before season-ending shoulder surgery on July 24. He was limited to 19 games in 2012, the first season after the Red Sox acquired him from Oakland. Bailey made $4.1 million, and by letting him go free the Red Sox could sign him without the 20 per cent maximum cut rule applying. Justin Maxwell Royals Jersey. The 25-year-old Kalish missed the entire season due to a right shoulder operation in January and cervical fusion surgery in August. Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman MorganRielly had been a healthy scratch for three consecutive games last week, at which point it seemed that a trip to the World Juniors was all but certain. Eric Hosmer Royals Jersey . And then he was reinserted back into the lineup for four straight games, predictably quieting the assumption. Leafs coach Randy Carlyle made clear, though, after Mondays game - in which Rielly scored his first career NHL goal - that a final decision had not yet been reached on whether to send Rielly to Sweden. "Were going to have a tough decision here coming thats for sure," he said. Be it Carlyle, Dave Nonis or any member of the management team, the Leafs have stressed that theyll do whats best for the long-term development of their prized rookie defender. But that assertion typically included the caveat that Rielly would remain in the NHL if he was playing regularly and contributing. "We feel that he can play here and make a contribution," said Carlyle, questioned on the subject on Dec. 2. The decision will come soon. Canada plays its first pre-tournament game on Friday. Eric Hosmer Jersey . And former Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson certainly knows his pain. "Its pretty hard to coach there without allowing some of these things to kind of affect you," Wilson told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun in his ESPN. George Brett Authentic Jersey . According to a report from the Winnipeg Free Press, the Bombers will name Acting GM Kyle Walters to the post full time.Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry Fraser wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca! Hi Kerry, You are probably being bombarded with e-mails in reference to Saturdays game between the Bruins and Canucks. As a hockey fan for the past 40 some odd years, I find myself having a great feel for the game and its rules. But Saturday, there were a couple of incidents that had me somewhat confused. During the scrum that occurred in the first period, ShawnThornton was piled on by five or six Vancouver players during his altercation with Burrows. Is there still the rule of a third man in or has that been removed from the NHL rule book? There was not only a third man in, but also a fourth and fifth and six man in! Should Vancouver have been called for that? Not only were they not called for it but what resulted was MilanLucic being tossed out of the game for apparently leaving the bench to join into the scrum (which the NHL later rescinded) and the Canucks ended up with a two-man advantage! This had a major turning point in the game. Please clarify to me the third man in rule. Kerry, if you could clarify this situation or provide your opinion on what happened that would be greatly appreciated. Hockey Fan Forever, Steve Cymbaluk from Oromocto, New Brunswick Steve: You are absolutely correct that there should have been a game misconduct assessed to one of the third, fourth or fifth Canuck players that entered the altercation already in progress between AlexandreBurrows and Shawn Thorton. My pick as the third man in would have been Maxim Lapierrre as the most obvious and aggressive of the entire Vancouver player contingent. While I have outlined the "third man in" rule and the definition of an "altercation" in previous columns, it obviously bears repeating because both continue to be misinterpreted and/or incorrectly assessed. Lets get something straight; while rule 46.16- "third man in" appears under the Fighting Rule, the language is very specific relative to intervening in an ALTERCATION already in progress. Some might still hold onto the old terminology or thought process of the third man to enter a "fight", and if you do, please lose it immediately! That definition was changed after Darryl Sittler squared off to fight with a Philadelphia Flyer in Maple Leaf Gardens during the Stanley Cup playoffs and was blindsided by another Broad Street Bully and knocked to the ice. (Sittler and his opponent had dropped their gloves, squared off and even though they had yet to throw a punch, they were going to be penalized.) Rule 46.3 (still under Fighting) clearly defines an "altercation" in the simplest language; "An altercation is a situation involving two players with at least one to be penalized." The third man in penalty was designed to allow for a fair fight between two willing combatants and to stop brawling when an unfair advantage was gained on an outnumbered opponent in an altercation. Rule 64.16 needs to be cconsistently applied by the definition in the rule book as to what constitutes an altercation. Bo Jackson Jersey. On this play, AlexandreBurrows gave either DanielPaille a little tap with his stick as the players were retiring to their players bench for a change. ShawnThornton was the trailer heading to his bench and, while taking exception to Burrows cheap shot, poked his stick forward making contact with Burrows. Burrows responded with a meat-tenderizing poke of his own on Thornton, which infuriated the Bruins tough guy. Thornton lunged forward with a glove punch to the face of Burrows and pressed forward to continue this roughing situation. Lets freeze frame at this point and apply our above definition of an altercation; "A situation involving two players with at least one to be penalized." We know that Burrows and Thornton received slashing minors for their stickwork on each other. Thornton also was assessed a roughing minor for his hefty, stinky glove punch to the face of Burrows. There is no doubt we have an altercation in progress! Both MannyMalhotra and KevinBieksa attempted to grab hold and act as peacemakers but appeared to be pretty much blocked from doing so by the lineman, who was quick to jump into the altercation. The player that threw gas on the fire by going airborne to jump into the upright pile of players and officials in the scrum was Vancouver Canuck MaximLapierre, who was able to inflict some punishment with a flurry of visible punches levied from over the top. Thats why Lapierre is my pick for the third man to enter the altercation (one in progress between Thornton and Burrows). Instead of receiving just the 10-minute misconduct that Lapierre was assessed, I would have given him a double minor for roughing (for number of punches thrown) in addition to a game misconduct under rule 46.16 as the third man in the altercation (as defined in rule 46.3). MilanLucic was very aggressive in his involvement and worthy of a double minor as well but would have remained in the game since he did not leave the bench. Im good with the double minor penalty to ShawnThornton for slashing and roughing as well as the slashing penalty to Burrows, whose first love tap on the shin pad of Paille, if detected, was worthy of a misconduct penalty which was ultimately assessed. The fight between NathanHorton and DaleWeise stood alone (toe-to-toe) and the major penalties for fighting were appropriately assessed. To recap Steve, MaximLapierre of the Vancouver Canucks would have been ejected from the game in addition to a double minor for roughing. MilanLucic would have remained in the game and received a double minor for roughing as well. Boston would have played one man short (not two men short) and the Bs would have captains choice as to which remaining minor would be served on the penalty clock; one of ShawnThorntons or MilanLucic. In either case Claude Julien would have to place a player in the penalty box to serve the minor. wholesale jerseyscheap jerseys ' ' '

It was a night where all the teams in the playoff chase in the Western Conference picked up points with the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 shootout win over the Phoenix Coyotes being a three-pointer. Johnny Unitas Womens Jersey . With the win, the Jets improve to 10-3-1 under coach Paul Maurice and 5-1 at home since the coaching change. With 21 games remaining, the Jets are now on 64 points and just two out of the final playoff spot. The team plays another divisional game Saturday afternoon in Nashville (You can catch the action live on TSN Jets or listen on TSN 1290.) The Predators sit two points back of the Jets. Thursday marked the Jets 35th one-goal game this season, the second highest in the league. OliverEkman-Larsson opened the scoring as he did January 13 when these two teams met at MTS Centre. On that night his goal came at 12:16. In this game it was 12:17 in. In the first meeting, OlliJokinen tied the game 36 seconds later. Thursday, BlakeWheeler tied it 2:38 later. It was Wheelers team-leading 23rd of the year. Shots in the first were 11-9 for Phoenix. The only goal of the second came on a Jets power play, as BryanLittle beat MikeSmith off of a turnover. It was his 19th of the year and sixth powerplay goal of the season. Little now has 48 points on the season, three shy of his tying his career single season high. The shots in the second were 10-7 for the Jets. Phoenix tied the game on a third period power play following a very weak hooking call on JimSlater. Both teams had reason to question some of the calls and non-calls in this game. MartinHanzal buried a rebound for his 15th of the year to send the game to overtime. Shots in the third favoured Phoenix 13-9. The Coyotes were the better team in overtime and only a number of great saves by OndrejPavelec took the game to a shootout. The shots in overtime were 5-1 for Phoenix and 39-29 Coyotes in the game.AntoineVermettes shootout marker for the Coyotes was cancelled out by DevinSetoguchi and OlliJokinens for Winnipeg as the Jets prevailed. Vermette had his 10-game point streak snapped, while AndrewLadd had his five-game point streak snapped. Wheeler has points in 13 of his last 17 games. In the two games against Phoenix, Pavelec has stopped 52 of 55 shots, is 2-0 and has a save percentage of .945. JacobTrouba led the Jets in ice time at 26:39, while Little took a team high 24 face-offs, winning 13. JimSlater and EvanderKane both returned to the line-up, Slater has been out since mid-October, while Kane missed the last six before the break."It was a slugfest for the puck, but the game was better than I thought it would be after the layoff," commented Maurice post-game. "Teams generated good looks, there were good saves. I liked our goaltending and in the end he delivered two points. We were a little uptight after the 2-2 goal. But I dont complain about getting two points. That team (Phoenix) played pretty well." The coach was also impressed by his goalie, Pavelec. "They had three prime chances in overtime," said Maurice. "He wins the game with the saves in overtime and the shootout. He really competed." Ricky Jean-Francois Jersey . After a preliminary examination of the contracts involved in Neymars signing, judge Pablo Ruz wrote in a ruling there is "sufficient elements for the admission of the lawsuit" brought by club member Jordi Cases. On Monday, Rosell insisted the total cost of 57 million euros (then $74 million) to bring Neymar from Brazilian club Santos announced at the players presentation last June was correct. Cases alleges the amount paid by the Spanish champions was higher and that Rosell misappropriated funds by hiding the real cost to the club behind false contracts, a criminal offence punishable by up to six years of prison. Cases told El Pais newspaper on Monday "the lawsuit is against Rosell, not against Barca." "We dont think that somebody kept the money," Cases said. "We only want to know how they account for the expenditures, because it isnt clear." Barcelona is owned by its more than 160,000 members, who elect a president and governing board. Barcelona made 482.6 million euros ($654 million) in revenue last season, second only to fierce rival Real Madrid, according to accountancy firm Deloitte. Rosell and other members of his board have repeatedly said the contracts involved in Neymars transfer included confidentiality clauses that dont allow them to reveal the exact amount of the 57 million euros received by Santos, and the three companies, DIS, TEISA and N&N, who owned shares of Neymars rights. To proceed with tthe suit, Ruz asked that FIFA and the Brazilian football federation present documentation related to the Neymar transfer; Neymar da Silva Santos Junior provide the contract he signed with the company N&N, run by his father Neymar Silva Santos, that ceded it his "future economic rights"; and for Barcelona to hand over contracts for the payment of 7. Bjoern Werner Jersey. 9 million euros for the rights to three Santos "youth players" and the contracts for the payment of 9 million euros to play two friendlies with Santos. Rosell said Monday he would be willing to answer any questions Ruz might have regarding the deal. "We respect all the contracts we sign," Rosell said. "Thats why I would be delighted for the judge to summon me for questioning so I can explain all the questions related to the contract." Rosell, at least for now, will not have to appear before the judge in Madrid because Ruz said there was no "urgency or need" for him to be summoned. Ruz is also presiding over a high-profile corruption case that has rocked Spains ruling party regarding an alleged slush fund run by former Popular Party treasurer Luis Barcenas. The 21-year-old Neymar, who led Santos on its greatest run since Pele stopped playing in the 1970s, has scored 11 goals since joining Barcelona. He is sidelined with a right ankle injury for two-to-three weeks. This is the second major ongoing legal dispute involving Barcelona players. A court near Barcelona questioned Lionel Messi and his father Jorge in September after a Spanish state prosecutor filed a complaint that the Argentina star owed 4 million euros in back taxes. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

ATLANTA -- When Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed found out a neighbouring community had made a generous offer to help finance a new Braves stadium, he balked and said the city simply couldnt compete. Albert Pujols Jersey . Reeds decision comes a few months after the mayor faced tough criticism for pushing through a plan to use public money to support a new NFL stadium downtown. And it underscores the challenges facing cash-strapped communities nationwide as they weigh the risks and rewards of using public money to help finance major sports venues. "The bottom line is that the city was presented with a choice, and that choice was encumbering between $150 million to $250 million in debt and not having money to do anything else," Reed said, referring to the citys share of costs for desired improvements at Turner Field. Instead, the mayor announced Tuesday that Turner Field would be demolished when the Braves leave in 2017, making way for a new large-scale development. Reed has said the city couldnt match Cobb Countys offer of $450 million in public support to the Braves, though the team disputes that figure. When faced with the question of how much to contribute to stadium construction or refurbishment, local leaders have to weigh the state of their communitys finances. In Atlantas case, Reed said the city has a $900 million backlog in infrastructure projects. There have been instances of communities not putting up public money, but those are the exception, said Judith Grant Long, an associate professor of urban planning at Harvard University. Most notable is the current home of the San Francisco Giants, which was the first privately financed major league stadium in decades. On the other end of the spectrum, Long pointed to the $975 million Minnesota Vikings stadium project. There, the public contribution has been estimated at $498 million. "The impact of the recent recession on state and local tax revenues, and consequently fiscal management, should influence thinking about all new capital projects and the role of public debt," Long said. The new 42,000-seat Braves stadium would be located about 10 miles north of downtown and cost $672 million to build. Reed has said he was informed of the $450 million in public financing during a meeting with the team, but the Braves said the costs havent been finalized and "reports of this figure are erroneous." Cobb County appears to have at least three financing options that would not involve raising taxes on residents, including a hotel/motel tax that brought in $10 million in revenue last year, a community improvement district that pools money from area businesses for infrastructure projects and a budget surplus. The proposal does include options for commercial development, including restaurants, retail, hotel and entertainment facilities that would surround the stadium and also would boost revenues. Details on the public funding are expected to be released in the next few weeks. In defending his decision, Reed argued the Braves situation was much different than the citys plan to contribute at least $200 million in public funding to support a new $1.2 billion, retractable-roof stadium for the Atlanta Falcons. Reed said the Falcons deal will use the citys hotel/motel tax for improvements to state-owned property where the NFL stadium will be built. There was no such funding mechanism for the Braves, so any contributions would have forced the city to take on significant debt, Reed said. "It doesnt mean I dont want the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta," Reed said. "Were not going to put the city on its back financially." Reed touted the publics relatively small share of costs for the NFL stadium. Long said that was lower than the average of about 70 per cent in public money for stadium projects. William Perry, executive director of the government watchdog group Common Cause Georgia, was a vocal critic of the mayor for not seeking more public input on the Falcons stadium deal. He said this week that the mayor appeared to be applying inconsistent logic by fighting for the Falcons but letting the Braves leave. Braves executives said the decision to leave Turner Field was based on several factors, including $150 million needed to replace seats and pay for other upgrades as well as another $200 million to improve the fan experience. The team cited a lack of mass transit options in the area, too few parking spaces and limited freeway access. "Our new location will give us the opportunity to develop the surrounding area of the new ballpark, transforming it into a mixed use, 365-day destination and creating an enhanced atmosphere for our fans during Braves games," the team said in a statement. Studies have shown stadium projects create only modest increases in overall tax revenue and job creation, Long said, although more teams are taking a role in developing lodging, entertainment and retail around the venues. "In part, this is evidence of a trend where teams are more interested in development around the stadium as part of their evolving business model," Long said, adding that it can also help with gaining approval. "However, these urban development benefits ... are slow to materialize." For Cobb County, the benefits of the project are clearly worth any risk. "This makes Cobbs marketability so much stronger, and it helps us become more than a suburban community," said Brooks Mathis, an executive with the Cobb Chamber of Commerce who helped negotiate the deal. "We are going to see huge benefits for many, many years to come especially having such a wonderful organization like the Braves be a part of our community." Reggie Jackson Authentic Jersey . NEWARK, N. Authentic Texans Jersey .J. -- JaromirJagr has decided to remain with the New Jersey Devils for another year. "I was happy being here," the 42-year-old Jagr said Thursday in a conference call from Belarus, where he is playing for the Czech Republic in the world championships. "There was no reason to change. There was no reason to test free agency. What would happen? Someone might give me more money, but nobody can guarantee me that Id be happy someplace else. If Im happy, then theres no reason to go anywhere else. I play my best hockey when Im happy." The Devils did not release terms of the contract. Jagr said it was a one-year deal. The contract is believed to be worth $6 million with incentives. "I like having one-year deals," Jagr said. "If something goes wrong, you never know if you have a long contract and say have three years left. One year is good for everybody. I think both sides wanted to get this done quickly. Lou (Lamoriello, the teams president and general manager) wanted to do it, because he wanted to see the direction where hes going with the team." Jagr was the Devils leading scorer this, finishing with 24 goals and 43 assists for 67 points. "Id truly like to score more goals," Jagr said. "I feel like I can play with the guys we have. We have a better chance to play better. We have a good group of guys and thats very important. I like to play a lot, because I dont get tired." Jagr will turn 43 in February of next season, his 21st year in the NHL. A two-time winner of the Stanley Cup when he played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jagr has 705 goals and 1,050 assists. The Devils missed the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons. "We made a lot of mistakes early," Jagr said. "But we were able to play good against the good teams. We lost a lot of points to teams that didnt make the playoffs. It put us in a position where we had to win almost every game and that was too much pressure. We didnt have any great superstars, but we had good goal scorers that give us a chance to compete against anybody and beat anybody. Its just my feeling, but we didnt have to be great to win games, if we work hard." Jagr said that he liked the camaraderie in the Devils locker room. "We have a lot of fun," Jagr said. "We have a loose atmosphere. Theres not a bad guy in the room. Maybe we need a bad one to get in the playoffs." Jagr was named Thursday as one of the three finalists for the Bill Masterton Award, given to the player "who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey," along with Manny Malholtra of the Carolina Hurricanes and DominicMoore of the New York Rangers. "It means a lot that the hockey writers picked me," Jagr said. "Hockey writers can be very picky, so for them to pick me means a lot. I just love the sport and follow the laws of the sport." CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers needed a breather. nike roshe run uomo . They got one Friday night. AndersonVarejao scored 16 points and KyrieIrving had 10 points and 10 assists, leading the Cavaliers to a 93-78 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. A visit from the worst team in basketball helped Clevelands cause. The Cavaliers used a 17-0 run in the second quarter and a 12-2 spurt in the third to win going away. "Id take this every game," Cleveland coach Mike Brown said. "We obviously havent had many of those." Varejao scored eight points to spark a 12-2 run that gave Cleveland a 64-46 lead late in the third quarter. Irving, selected an All-Star starter for the first time Thursday, had seven assists in the second half. KhrisMiddleton led Milwaukee with 13 points. BrandonKnight, who leads the Bucks with a 15.9 average, was held to eight points and went 4 of 12 from the field. The Bucks (8-34) have lost 10 of 11. Milwaukee snapped a nine-game losing streak Wednesday against Detroit, but couldnt build on the momentum from that win, a fact that disappointed coach Larry Drew. "We didnt play with a sense of urgency and, clearly, thats my responsibility," he said. "It is disappointing -- take nothing away from this Cleveland Cavalier team -- but I was expecting our guys to have a little bit more firepower. They were clearly the aggressor from start to finish." The game capped a couple of good days for Irving, who had no turnovers in 28 minutes. The third-year guard has also been chosen for the USA Basketball player pool. Irving plans on defending his 3-point title during All-Star weekend and said he would like to become the first player to win the contest three years in a row. "We started off a little sluggish, but we definitely picked it up," he said. "We forced them into some tough shots and got on our run." Irving is looking forward to next months All-Star festivities and the basketball world championships in the summer. "Im just really happy," he said. "I wouldnt be able to be a star without the fans and also my teammates just encourage me every single game. Its a great honour to be part of USA roster and All-Star." TristanThompson scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds while DionWaiters added 13 points for Cleveland. The Cavaliers lost the first two games of a five-game homestand after going 3-2 on a West Coast trip. "It was a good performance, especially after the two losses," Brown said. "Our guys stepped up. We had a lot of good individual performances that turned into a good team performance." Cleveland was leading 54-44 when Varejao hit three jumpers and a running hook shot that helped push the lead to 18 points. Irving scored on a reverse layup and Thompson added a three-point play. The Cavaliers used a 17-0 run in the first quarter to take a 23-11 lead. Irving scored five points while LuolDeng and Thompson added four apiece. The Bucks went 5:21 without scoring, a stretch that was finally broken on Middletons 3-pointer at the 2:56 mark. Milwaukee ended the quarter on a 12-1 run and trailed 24-23. Waiters scored all 10 of his first-half points in the second quarter and Cleveland led 46-37 at halftime. The Bucks havent won two in a row since March 17-19 of last season. "Its happened all year," said forward ErsanIlyasova. "We always give up separation (on the scoreboard) and cant come back. We always find a way to give up the game." The Cavaliers are 5-4 since acquiring Deng, who scored nine points, from Chicago on Jan. 7. GiannisAntetokounmpo scored 10 points for the Bucks. EkpeUdoh, Milwaukees starting centre, left the game late in the second quarter with a sprained left ankle and didnt return. LarrySanders took his place in the third quarter. Cavaliers forward AnthonyBennett, the No. 1 pick in the draft, played the final 5:14 after seeing no action in the previous five games. He hit two free throws with 26 seconds to play and had three rebounds. NOTES: Brown said "we havent discussed in depth" sending Bennett to the NBA Development League. Brown thinks it will benefit Bennett more to remain with the team than it would to be sent down. "Hes not just our top pick, hes the No. 1 pick in the draft, so hes going to get plenty of opportunity, but as you guys can see Im not going to give him a free pass," Brown said. ... Sanders (head cold) and G O.J.Mayo (virus) returned after not playing against Detroit. ... Milwaukee G LukeRidnour picked up two fouls in 14 seconds in the first quarter. ... BrandonMoss and JoshDonaldson each hit their 12th home run and YoenisCespedes also went deep for the As, who broke out of their recent slump by getting homers from five players for the first time since 2009. That backed another strong start from TommyMilone (3-3), who allowed four hits in 6 2-3 scoreless innings to improve to 3-0 with a 1.03 ERA in his past four starts. The As got four solo homers against DrewSmyly to win the first meeting of the season against the team that eliminated them in Game 5 of the division series the past two postseasons. Oakland returned home mired in its worst skid of the season, having scored seven runs in the four losses to Tampa Bay and Toronto. That led to a pregame message on the clubhouse white board imploring the team to take the "slow torture" approach of grinding out at-bats rather than the "instant kill" of a home run that ends a rally rather than starts one. The As broke out of their slump without following that advice as they got homers from five players for the first time since JackCust, KurtSuzuki, MarkEllis, DaricBarton and CliffPennington did it Sept. 11, 2009, at MMinnesota. adidas zx flux italia. After squandering a prime scoring chance in the first inning when Oakland put runners on first and third with no outs, the As got to Smyly with the longball. Two batters later, Blanks hit a no-doubt shot to left-centre for his first home run since being acquired before the start of the teams recent nine-game road trip. Oakland wasnt done, getting back-to-back shots from Donaldson and Cespedes in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead to the delight of the third sellout crowd of the season at the Coliseum. CocoCrisp added a sacrifice fly and Donaldson hit an RBI single in the fourth inning to make it 6-0. Swearinger Womens Jersey . -- RyanMallett played solidly in his first chance at quarterback for the New England Patriots. When you grew up in Ottawa, back in the days before the Sens, you really had just two choices when it came to NHL teams to cheer for: the Habs and the Leafs. If I could afford a therapist, I imagine the good doctor would tell be that my affection for the Leafs was part of an ongoing and pathological need to be alone and unhappy. Though, quite simply, its more likely that its because thats what was on local TV in Ottawa. I admit I could be wrong. I dont have a PhD. Thats right. I was a Leafs fan. I had a Leafs sweater that I slept in, that my dad bought me after some endless whining in the aisles of a Canadian Tire. An Allan Bester poster hung above my bed. I wore number 9 in Little League because of Russ Courtnall, and I may have cried when he was traded to the dreaded Habs for John Kordic. My parents werent sports fans, but they let me bring an old black and white TV into my room to watch Hockey Night in Canada, to fall asleep to the third period charms of Bob Cole and Harry Neale. I cant often remember my postal code, or where I lived in 2009, or the name of that girl, but I easily recall the names of Dale Degray, Peter Ing, Brad Smith, Ken Yaremchuk, and Dan Daoust, forgettable Leafs from a forgettable era.The arrival of the Ottawa Senators coincided with the arrival of my first love. Well, the first reciprocated love. Fittingly I used this sea change to shift my affections to the Sens, whose losing was familiar but who provided a new hope, a virginal slate upon which to build a new love. The Sens got better, but love did not. Like it tends to, it left, mostly my doing, as I had found affections for all sorts of other things one does as they enter their 20s.The Sens and I remained true to each other, even though I carried the relationship. I lived in Vancouver for a few years, but never felt any connection to the Canucks, nor for any West coast girl. Well, there was one girl, but she left me for my best friend. In that manner, she was not unlike the Sens. All kinds of promise, ending in sure disappointment; the better looking, more mature Leafs beating the Sens in the playoffs year after year. With both the Sens and the Leafs the pain was the same: expectations were crushed by reality. No matter what I did, season after season they hurt me. They left me alone in June, as other teams and their fans moved on to full playoff beards, Cup parades, and what I can only assume is happiness.Years passed. I moved back to Ottawa. I watched hockey less. I dated seldom. I grew a playoff beard in January. My mother worried. She had nightmares that I was floating through life without RRSPs, without a mortgage, without a wife, and without kids. My dad seemed to understand, even though he wasnt much for hockey. I moved to Costa Rica. My beard got longer. My tan was superb. Televised hockey was difficult to find. Beer was cheap. There was no fear of commitment, because everyone was transient, moving on, moving forward, or at least sideways. But the rains came and I returned to Canada, but this time to Montreal, a city that truly appreciates the lovelesss. Damaris Johnson Jersey. A city where the bars are open late, and life exists only in the present. And I found myself watching hockey again, with people who didnt know about my past, about the Leafs and the Sens, who didnt know of my failings in my mothers eyes. And I found myself cheering for the Montreal Canadiens, the longtime enemy of both the Leafs and the Sens. Outwardly I was a fan, but inside I was in turmoil. I felt like I was cheating on myself, as if I was committing hockey adultery, even though I was single and every team I ever loved sucked. And then came 2010. And a magical run through to the Conference Finals. And Halak signs. And PK Subban. And overtime wins. And there was a girl. A girl I loved. And for a brief moment I thought about breeding, about ceremony, pageantry, making my mum happy, a parade down Ste. Catherine, about my dad in a tuxedo, about rings. But, as hockey and love have taught me, all good things end in horrible, crushing, debilitating disappointment sometime in June. The Habs lost to the Flyers, and someone else won the Cup, and Halak was traded, and the girl left because I was afraid she might not, and summer arrived with condolence beers and late nights on terrasses and waiting for next year. Always next year. My mum didnt say anything, but I could see her deleting imaginary grandchildren in her mind, and transferring familial hope to my sister and her young family. And life went on. Seasons changed, both on the calendar and the NHL schedule. I still rocked a playoff beard, out of both laziness and hope, so Id be prepared in case of victory. The Habs sunk back to middle-of-the-pack mediocrity. The Leafs and the Sens lived in that same ether. My mum would send me promotional materials for post-graduate programs and ask how my married friends were doing. My dads tuxedo remained in the back of his closet, dry-cleaned and at the ready. I still watched Habs games, but my interest has waned, my commitment faltered. Then, two weekends ago, I was having a few adult beverages and watching the Sens and Habs battling each other in an important late-season game. It was like watching the past fight for your affections. With just under four minutes left, it looked like the Sens had the game won. But the Habs scored once, twice, and a third time with only .3 seconds left to tie it, before winning it in overtime. So buoyed by the victory, and spirited by the spirits, I headed out to the local to meet a friend and celebrate the victory. And in the back of the bar, a bar cheered by the win and the hour, was the girl from 2010. And we talked for a bit. And she asked about my folks. And we smiled when youre supposed to smile. And we spoke longingly about spring coming. And after a silence, and a pause, she had to leave, and as she did she looked back and said, "Maybe Ill see you soon." Maybe. And maybe the Habs will make a run, and my mum will stop worrying about matrimony, and my dads tuxedo will be content in its stasis, and maybe I will see her soon. That wouldnt be so bad. Better than being a Leafs fan. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

LONDON -- Michael Laudrup is taking legal advice after being fired as Swansea manager on Tuesday. C.J. Wilson Raiders Jersey . Laudrup revealed Thursday he was notified of his dismissal in "the briefest of letters which gave no reasons why such hasty and final action was deemed necessary." The Dane adds that he is "of course taking legal advice" and the League Managers Association has "already written to the club asking for a proper explanation." Swansea is 12th in the standings but just two points above the relegation zone after picking up only six points from its last 10 matches. Laudrup also said Swansea has banned him from going to the training ground, even to say goodbye to the players. LUCIE, Fla.Almost 13 years ago, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation was created by a group of the late curlers friends with the support of the Canadian Curling Association and Scott Paper. The idea came about just over three years after Schmirler was standing on the podium in Nagano 1998, signing our national anthem after capturing the Olympic gold medal in womens curling. Unfortunately, it was alsojust 14 months after she passed away from a rare form of cancer at the young age of 36. Much like the success Schmirler enjoyed on the ice, the foundation started in her name has been a winner at providing hospitals with funding for the care of premature and critically ill newborn babies across Canada. Despite all the big curling shots she made over the years, including the famous in-off at the 1997 Olympic Trials, Schmirler said giving birth to her only daughter at the time was her best delivery. It was clear that Schmirler never lost sight of what was important in life, which makes her name a perfect fit for the foundation, which bears the slogan Champions start small. Westbrook said he needed time to get comfortable again. "The more I play, the more rhythm Im able to catch and the more rhythm Im able to get," he said. ReggieJackson scored 17 points and SergeIbaka had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Thunder, who won their second straight after losing their first three games following the All-Star break. Oklahoma City outrebounded the Bobcats 44-29. Durant made just 8 of 24 field goals, but sank all 12 of his free throws. He also had six rebounds and five assists. The Thunder made 13 of 24 shots in the fourth quarter to outscore the Bobcats 31-18. Charlotte coach Steve Clifford said his team had the wrong mindset to close the game. TSNs Jack Armstrong offers his thoughts on Philadelphias MichaelCarter-Williams, Torontos TylerHansbrough, TrevorAriza of the Wizards, Chris Anderson of the Heat and New Orleans TyrekeEvans. cheap nfl jerseys . 1. MICHAELCARTER-WILLIAMS (Sixers): What a difference this guy makes. Interesting with some guys; they end up being better as pros than they were in college. Every time I watch him, I marvel at his versatility and ability to impact the game on so many levels. I thought they were a little goofy trading JrueHoliday to the Pelicans, yet as I reflect on it now they knew this young man could be special and they wanted to clear the runway for him. Smart move. Hes a keeper. 2. TYLERHANSBROUGH (Raptors): Has lost some playing time of late with the emergence of the other three front court partners that he has, yet he was truly missed last night here in Miami for his rebounding prowess and ability to win 50/50 balls and chase down balls that are long rebounds. Ankle injury leaves the Raptors a bit vulnerable inside vs. the Pacers and Pistons next two games. A concern. He has limitations, yet you truly appreciate his value when hes not out there. Tough hard-nosed competitor who leaves it all out there. 3. TREVORARIZA (Wizards): When I watch his team play I see a guy who is so valuable to their fortunes with his 3-point shooting ability and dedication on the defensive end. Having guys like him, BradleyBeal and MartellWebster allows JohnWall to have lots of space to penetrate in the lane because they all shoot the three. His veteran leadership is big and when he got tossed out of the Raptors game on Friday night it was a critical blow to his teams chances. Control that temper - your team needs you. 4. CHRIS ANDERSON (Heat): What an ideal reserve for his team. He gives you energy and great second effort in the lane. On a team with such speed, quickness, three-point shooting and transition ability his game fits their style of play perfectly. Hes a guy that thrives in tempo and lives off of teammates penetration and folks doubling LeBronJames and D-Wade to free him up on the glass and for dunks. A good fit. 5. TYREKEEVANS (Pelicans): Gotta give props to coach MontyWilliams. Hes gotten through to him and hes playing a much more team-oriented style than we saw in his time with the Kings. His all-around game has been efficient and with him averaging 13 + PPG along with 4.9 RPG and 4.4 Assists PG, he has fit in nicely with their improving roster. Another guy with lots of talent that is finally starting to mature. Hes a solid combo guard with a lot of explosiveness in his game. The key is developing consistency. cheap jerseys china . KyrieIrving scored 22 points and the Cavaliers won their sixth straight game, 101-93 over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.wholesale jerseys . On Tuesday, they did it again. WASHINGTON - Just when it appeared that the intensity of a playoff run was getting to be too much for the Washington Wizards, they pull off a solid win over the Indiana Pacers. Nike Air Max 90 Soldes . And the Pacers? They played so poorly that it made this weeks win over the Miami Heat look more like an aberration in some late-season doldrums. JohnWall scored 20 points, and MarcinGortat added 17 points and 12 rebounds Friday night as the Wizards avenged two of their biggest losses of the season, never trailing in a 91-78 win over the cold-shooting, turnover-prone Pacers. "Were at the point where we cant just get up for the Miamis or the Chicago Bulls and then come out and get doughnuts against the Wizards or these other teams," said DavidWest, who committed four of Indianas 17 turnovers. "I just dont know if we are handling success and being out front the right way." The Heat beat the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, essentially negating Indianas victory over Miami on Wednesday in the standings. The Pacers lead is back to two games atop the Eastern Conference. "The game Wednesday doesnt mean anything if we dont get the one tonight, and were back at square one," Pacers guard GeorgeHill said. "We gave up another game where we should have won." The Wizards, meanwhile, sit sixth in the East and are almost certainly playoff-bound for the first time since 2008, but their recent uninspired play had led to questions as to whether young players Wall and BradleyBeal had the mettle for a post-season push. Washington had lost four of five, with games featuring wild swings and deficits too big to make up. "Our intensity level for 48 minutes had waned," coach Randy Wittman said. "And wed lost that edge a little bit, in terms of we waited until we got down before we really played with effort and intensity." Not so Friday night against the Pacers, who are responsible for two of Washingtons three losses by 20-plus points this season. This was one of those prove-yourself wins that counts a little extra. "They had our number the first two games," Beal said. "They played way more physical than we did. They kind of did whatever they wanted to when they were at home, but once we got them here we did a great job of just hitting them and we kept hitting them throughout the whole game." PaulGeorge scored 19 points, and LanceStephenson had 13 points and matched a career-high with 14 rebounds for the Pacers, who have lost a season-high four straight road games. Indiana committed five turnovers in the first four minutes Friday and shot 35 per cent overall. By halftime, the Pacers were up to 10 turnovers. No. 11 came on the first possession of the second half, when centre RoyHibbert threw the ball out of bounds. After scoring in the 70s only once in their first 69 games, the Pacers have held below 80 in three of their last four. "Im tired of talking about it," said Hibbert, who went 3-for-8 from the field and had only two rebounds. "Weve been in this rut for a month. I dont know. Ive made my suggestions. You take one step forward and three steps back. One game, and then we play like this. ... Weve talked about that for great length amongst ourselves, private team meetings, all that (stuff), and I dont know." The Pacers finished 2-for-13 from 3-point range. Stephenson went 3-for-13 and missed all five of his 3-pointers. George was 6-for-22 and was unhappy he didnt get more calls. "Its just crazy," George said. "We played against a team the other night where if you breathe on the guy (LeBronJames) you know he went to the line. Im not saying Im that calibre player, but its just frustrating." As poorly as the Pacers played, the Wizards didnt truly pull away until late in the third quarter. TrevorAriza and MartellWebster hit 3-pointers in a 10-0 run that made the score 77-56 early in the fourth. Ariza finished just 2 for 12 from the field, and BradleyBeal was 2 for 13. "We guarded our butts off," Beal said. "We didnt necessarily shoot it too well, but we definitely defended." NOTES: Beal played 35 minutes despite suffering a hip pointer in Wednesdays loss to the Phoenix Suns. ... AlHarrington accounted for all of the points in a 10-0 run by the Wizards over 2 1/2 minutes in the second quarter. Nike Air Max 90 Homme . Louis Blues remain at the top spot of the TSN. In the response filed Wednesday to the complaint by 30-year-old Alexander Bradley, attorneys say the former University of Florida player is invoking his Fifth Amendment right that protects people from incriminating themselves. Accordingg to court records, Bradley claims Hernandez shot him after they argued at the club in February. Nike Air Max 90 Femme Soldes. Bradley seeks at least $100,000 in damages. FRANKFURT, Germany -- Bayern Munich has asked the Bundesliga to install goal-line technology despite being on the right side of a wrong decision in the German Cup final. Fernando Valenzuela Dodgers Jersey . Bayern won the final 2-0 in extra time, but only after the referee did not award a goal to Borussia Dortmunds Mats Hummels. Replays showed the ball crossed the line before defender Dante kicked it out. It was the latest in a string of wrong decisions, including an allowed goal from a ball that went through the side netting. Two-thirds of the 36 first- and second-division clubs voted against the technology in March, arguing it was too expensive, and the German Football League (DFL) shelved the project. A camera-based system costs about 500,000 euros ($683,000). Bayern now wants the technology to be installed only in the first division to "better protect our football and referees above all." Only half of the 18 first-division teams supported the technology in March. Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said it was unacceptable for the referees to be "dragged through dirt publicly" even though they had no technology at their disposal. "This can and should be prevented," Rummenigge wrote in a letter to the DFL, which runs the Bundesliga. SASSUOLO, Italy -- Juventus all but clinched its third successive Serie A title by coming from behind to win 3-1 Monday at relegation-threatened Sassuolo in heavy rain. Nike Air Max 90 Pas Cher . Antonio Contes side moved eight points ahead of Roma with three rounds remaining. The two sides face each other in the penultimate match of the season, but Juventus is expected to seal the title next week when it plays Atalanta at home, where it has won all 17 of its league matches this season. Juventus also remained on course to become the first Serie A club to reach the 100-point barrier. "We have taken a very important step toward a historic third title," Conte said. "We are having a super season. I hear talk about an out of this world Roma side but we are eight points ahead of them and in the Europa League semifinals. So find adjectives for us." Juventus hosts Benfica on Thursday looking to overturn a 2-1 first leg defeat in their Europa League semifinal. Simone Zaza -- who is co-owned by Juventus -- gave Sassuolo a surprise lead in ninth-minute when he finished off an electric counterattack. Nicola Sansone raced downfield before setting up Zaza, whose effort took a slight deflection off Angelo Ogbonna to beat Gianluigi Buffon at the near post. Juventus levelled in the 35th when Carlos Tevez collected the ball from Claudio Marchisio just outside the area and unleashed a fierce shot, which took a decisive deflection off Alessandro Longhi. It was Tevezs 19th of the season and leaves him two behind Torinos Ciro Immobile, the top scorer in Serie A. Claudio Marchisio fired Juventus ahead in front shortly before the hour mark after a chipped pass from Andrea Pirlo over the Sassuolo defence. And Fernando Llorente sealed the result when he finished off Stephan Lichtsteiners cross with a delightful backheel from close range 14 minutes from time. Contes jubilation after that goal and the whole teams reaction after the match expressed how close they are to the crown. "It wasnt a title celebration at the end because there is still a chance for our pursuers," Conte said. "We have to seal it in the next match, I dont like anticipating things but we took a huge step forward." Sassuolo is only above the relegation zone thanks to its head-to-head record with Bologna. Nike Air Max 90 Homme . -- Kevin Pangos had 27 points and Drew Barham added 17 to lead No. Nike Air Max 90 Soldes . KawhiLeonard scored 20 points, TonyParker had 16 points and 10 assists, and San Antonio rolled to a 114-97 victory over the Trail Blazers on Thursday night for a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinals.NEW ORLEANS - Shortly after hoisting his second Slam Dunk trophy, this one hell have to share, TerrenceRoss was stunned to hear that the contests format change was not especially well received. "It was one of the best shows ever," said the Raptors guard, disagreeing with the critics. "Its really what people wanted to see. You couldnt see those dunks without three players on the court so it worked out for the best I think." The Slam Dunk Contest - the pride and joy of All-Star Saturday Night - adopted a team concept this year, pitting the three participants from the East against the Wests trio in a two-round showcase. It was, for all intents and purposes, a bust. In the final round, a head-to-head session, the team from the East - consisting of Ross, JohnWall and PaulGeorge - defeated the West in a clean sweep. It was an unorthodox victory for Ross, who only threw down one dunk, outside of the initial freestyle round. "Hey, a wins a win," the sophomore said, elated after the competition came to an end, not unlike most in attendance and watching from home. "Im gonna take it either way. Ive never lost a dunk contest at this point so Im happy." The real champion, assuming anyone can really be considered a winner after that performance, was JohnWall, who was awarded the fan vote for Dunker of the Night. Wall capped off an anticlimactic evening with the only real jaw-dropping dunk, leaping over Wizards mascot G-Man, taking the ball out of his hands and completing a two-hand reverse jam to seal the Easts victory. Off the top, each team had 90 seconds to work together and complete as many dunks as they could. The team dynamic, allowed the dunkers to collaborate and be creative in their attempts. Ross and the East took advantage, while the West - with DamianLillard, HarrisonBarnes and BenMcLemore - ate up nearly a third of their allotted time before converting a notable slam. To call it organized chaos would be putting it mildly. Mostly, it was a disjointed mess with an occasional highlight, a couple from Ross, who put down a reverse to open the contest. The battle round had promise but lacked any semblance of rhythm or flow, as actual dunks were few and far between. Just as it started to come around, it ended abruptly. Lillard led off the proceedings - competing in his third event of the night - facing Ross, who brought along a friend and colleeague for assistance. Nike Air Max 90 Camo Infrared. With last years trophy in hand, Raptors global ambassador Drake accompanied Ross on the floor to the tune of Started from the Bottom. Ross, wearing a boxing robe as he entered, would miss his first two attempts before eventually taking the ball from Drake, putting it through his legs and throwing it down with the opposite hand. As it turns out, Drake was a late substitution for Ross teammate and original assistant. "At first I knew the dunk I wanted to do and then I was like, DeMar (DeRozan) is going to do it," said the Raptors sophomore. "And then I was like, let me ask Drake because that would be a little better fit with him being the global ambassador, so I said that might work. I had fun with it, he was willing to help in any way he could." In the end, Ross was happy with the format change and embraced the chance to team up rather than go at it alone. "We got to throw off the shot clock, the backboard, bounce it off the ground," he said. "It was fun, everybody loved it." Ross maintained the team concept allows participants to be more creative, giving each of them a greater opportunity to come up and execute something new. For that reason, he believes the format should be here to stay. "It was fun, just coming up with certain things. I was trying to see if we could throw it off the jumbotron and see if we could do something like that but they said that would probably break it." Format changes encapsulated the entire night, certainly not what the league was going for. The Skills Challenge also had participants competing in teams for the first time. DeRozan - who was paired with Bucks rookie GiannisAntetokounmpo - more than held his own, sinking the chest pass on his first attempts and nailing the jump shot from the top of the key in two tries. His partner needed three tries to complete the pass and as a result, they were eliminated in the opening round, bested by MichaelCarter-Williams and VictorOladipo by 1.7 seconds. That pair would go on to lose to Lillard and TreyBurke by a tenth of a second in the finals. Former Raptor MarcoBelinelli, the eventual winner of the Three-Point Contest, would not have made it past the first round if not for a new twist which allowed for one entire rack filled with money balls. He went on to defeat Wizards guard BradleyBeal in a tie-breaking round. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

The Toronto Blue Jays arent quite ready to concede. cheap nfl jerseys . The hosts can complete a sweep of the visiting Chicago Cubs and remain on the fringes for the second American League wild card playoff berth with a victory on Wednesday night in the finale of a three-game series at Rogers Centre. Torontos Tuesday night win over the Cubs was its second straight in the series, third in a row overall and eighth in 10 games. The Blue Jays are 4 1/2 games behind the Detroit Tigers, who currently hold the second of two wild card positions. The Blue Jays have won four straight at home and have been boosted over recent weeks by the hot bat of JoseBautista, who stretched his personal hit streak to 13 games on Tuesday. He has a .333 average, eight home runs and 19 runs batted in during the stretch. "Jose has been one of the best hitters in baseball over the last few years," manager John Gibbons said. "Hes got the knack of doing something big when it counts, when we need something." Toronto has outscored the Cubs, 17-2, in the first two games of the series, but will encounter rookie right-hander KyleHendricks, whos in the midst of his own streak. The Cubs have won Hendricks last seven starts and nine of 10 overall. He was dinged for four runs in Chicagos 6-4 loss to Cincinnati in his big-league debut on July 10, but hes surrendered only 10 earned runs in 56 1/3 innings since. Kendricks previous outing came last Wednesday and he yielded two runs and nine hits in a 6-2 defeat of Milwaukee. Meanwhile, the Cubs are batting just .218 while dropping five straight games. They face Torontos own hot pitcher, DrewHutchison. Hutchison has given up just two runs in his last 21 2/3 innings over three home starts. In his last home outing, on Aug. 30, he tossed seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball in a 2-0 defeat of the New York Yankees. He last pitched on Friday against Boston and allowed three runs in six innings of a game the Blue Jays ultimately lost, 9-8, in 10 innings. Hutchison has never faced the Cubs. On Tuesday, Bautistas three-run double in the seventh inning led the Blue Jays to a 9-2 victory. Bautista finished with four RBI, MunenoriKawasaki and JoseReyes each brought in two runs and KevinPillar and EdwinEncarnacion supplied three hits apiece for the Blue Jays. MarkBuehrle (12-9) gave up 10 hits and two runs with three strikeouts over seven innings for the win. JavierBaez had two hits and two runs scored, while WelingtonCastillo supplied three hits and an RBI for Chicago. NeilRamirez (2-2) was tagged with the loss after giving up two runs in the seventh. Starter JakeArrieta allowed two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts across 6 1/3 frames. The Jays and Cubs are meeting for the first time since 2008, when Chicago took two of three games north of the border. cheap jerseys . Doneil Henry, the man who scored Toronto FCs last-gasp game winner Saturday, knows that probably better than anyone. jerseys from china . LOUIS -- St.ROME -- Roger Federers focus appeared to drift away from the Foro Italico. And that was understandable. After all, the 17-time Grand Slam winner was playing for the first time since the birth of his second set of twins last week. Federer let a lead to slip away and was beaten 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (6) Wednesday in the second round of the Italian Open by 47th-ranked Jeremy Chardy of France. When Federers boys, Leo and Lenny, were born, the fourth-ranked Swiss player withdrew from last weeks Madrid Open. He only decided to come to Rome a few days ago. "This one is totally OK if it doesnt hurt," Federer said. "I tried everything. I cant do more than that on the court." Federer had a match point in the tiebreaker but Chardy saved it with an improbable cross-court forehand on the run when it looked like Federer was about to close the match out. "That passing shot is a tough one for me to take, because hes not going to make that very often," Federer said. "But it happens and credit to him to fight his way back into the match and get it." Later, top-ranked Rafael Nadal also faced stiff resistance from his French opponent before ultimately wearing down 30th-ranked Gilles Simon for a 7-6 (1), 6-7 (4), 6-2 win that lasted 3 hours, 18 minutes -- opening his bid for an eighth Rome title. Nadal hit 32 winners but just three with his backhand, which has become a point of concern recently. Also, Wimbledon champion Andy Murray eliminated Marcel Granollers of Spain 6-2, 7-5. Womens title-holder Serena Williams showed no problems -- and no taping -- from a left thigh injury that forced her to withdraw from Madrid. The top-ranked American beat 28th-ranked Andrea Petkovic 6-2, 6-2. "Im not 100 per cent but Im getting there," Williams said, adding that the conditions at the U.S. Open prepared her for the heavy wind gusts at the Foro Italico. "If I can play in New York, I can play anywhere." Maria Sharapova, the 2011 and 2012 Rome champion, had to rally in the second set to get by Puerto Rican qualifier Monica Puig 6-3, 7-5. After cruising through the first set, Federer began to commit unforced errors at an alaarming rate and Chardy quickly took advantage. wholesale jerseys. "I wasnt able to stretch the lead when I had it," Federer said. Federer committed 43 unforced errors -- 20 in the second set alone -- to Chardys 28. Federer also struggled to dictate play with his first serve. "But at the end, it was shot here or there that decided the match," Federer said. Chardy hadnt beaten a top-10 player since defeating Juan Martin del Potro in the third round of last years Australian Open. Federer and wife Mirka also have twin girls, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, who turn 5 in July. But even with all the family distractions, Federer didnt appear worried about his preparations for the French Open, which starts in 11 days. "Everything is under control," Federer said, recalling that he reached the final of the Monte Carlos Masters last month. "I still feel good, my body is good, my mind is good and its just unfortunate for one passing shot today I dont get another opportunity to play this week." Also advancing was 11th-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who edged Kevin Anderson of South Africa 7-6 (14), 7-6 (5); and 12th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov, who eliminated Ivo Karlovic of Croatia 7-6 (3), 6-4; and 15th-seeded Tommy Haas, who defeated Igor Sijsling of the Netherlands, 7-6 (6), 6-1. In womens play, third-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska beat Paula Ormaechea of Argentina 6-3, 6-2 and will next face 2010 French Open winner Francesca Schiavone, who rallied past Garbine Muguruza 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (5). Fourth-seeded Simona Halep rallied past American opponent Madison Keys 5-7, 6-0, 6-1 then withdrew from the tournament due to abdominal muscle injury. Tenth-seeded Sara Errani swept aside Ekaterina Makarova 6-2, 6-3; and 13th-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro beat 1999 champion Venus Williams 6-4, 6-2. Suarez Navarro then advanced to the quarterfinals upon Haleps withdrawal. Also, Varvara Lepchenko upset 16th-seeded Sloane Stephens 6-2, 6-2 in an all-American match; American qualifier Christina McHale rallied to beat Italian wild card Camila Giorgi 1-6, 6-3, 6-1; and Australian veteran Sam Stosur defeated Elena Vesnina of Russia 6-2, 6-3. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '
