TORONTO -- SergioSantos certainly didnt make a favourable first impression Monday. http://www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net/Nike-nfl-jerseys_New-england-patriots-jersey.html . The veteran reliever, obtained in the off-season from the Chicago White Sox to be Torontos closer, blew his second save of the season as the Boston Red Sox rallied for three ninth-inning runs to earn a 4-2 victory and spoil the Blue Jays home opener. Santos (0-1) came on to protect a 2-1 Toronto lead to start the ninth but only lasted two-thirds of an inning, giving up two hits, three earned runs, three walks and a wild pitch while fanning one. And to add insult to injury, the boisterous Rogers Centre sellout of 48,473 -- the Jays largest home-opening crowd since drawing 50,171 in 2008 for a 6-3 win over Boston -- roundly booed him off the field when he was replaced by LuisPerez. "Id be booing too, it wasnt pretty," Santos said. "Its tough because you feel you let 24 other guys down that you have been working hard with for the last two months. "But I have to be ready for tomorrow. I hope its another safe situation and I can get back out there. All I can do is be prepared for the next job and hopefully get the job done. Im throwing some good pitches, unfortunately the couple of bad ones I am throwing theyre hitting. Its baseball and Im not going to pout and whine about it. It is what it is." RyanSweeneys single to right field off Santos scored pinch-runner DarnellMcDonald from second to break a 2-2 tie. Santos issued consecutive two-out walks to DavidOrtiz and CodyRoss to set up Sweeneys clutch hit. DustinPedroia, who homered earlier in the game, belted a leadoff double for Boston (1-3) and scored on AdrianGonzalezs sacrifice fly. Ross later came home on the wild pitch by Santos. There would be no comeback for Toronto (2-2) as Boston right-hander AlfredoAceves retired BrettLawrie, EricThames and J.P.Arencibia in order in the ninth for the save. ScottAtchison (1-0), who relieved Red Sox starter FelixDoubront after the fifth, earned the win. But despite Santos early struggles, Toronto manager John Farrell says hes not looking for a new closer. "Sergio remains our closer," Farrell said. "He got into a situation after the leadoff double I thought he started to overthrow his fastball. "He yanked a number of pitches out of the strike zone. The two walks obviously led to those three runs. Right now were not in sync all the way around. Our offence will get on track. Runs are at a little bit of a premium right now." Bostons comeback spoiled a solid outing by Toronto starter HendersonAlvarez, who went six solid innings in a historic outing. At 21 years 355 days Alvarez became the youngest Blue Jay to start a home opener in club history. The distinction previously belonged to Jerry Garvin, who was 22 years 174 days when he started Torontos home opener against the Detroit Tigers on April 14, 1978. Alvarez allowed four hits, one run and a walk while fanning two. He had good command of hit pitches as 12 of his 18 outs came on grounders. His lone miscue came against Pedroia, who belted a solo homer. "Their starter was pretty darn good," Pedroia said of Alvarez. "Hes got great stuff, man. "His two-seam fastball is pretty darn good. Hes going to be good for a long time." Boston finally earned its first win of the season after opening the campaign by being swept in Detroit. Bobby Valentine, in his first season as the Red Sox manager, had nothing by praise for Pedroia. "I dont have enough words to talk about Pedroia," he said. "I came here at 12 oclock and figured no one would be here and he was here pacing and said weve got to get the monkey off our back and lets go. "Hes just a great player." Alvarez was pleased with his performance. "All I was doing was trying to get ahead of the hitters," the Venezuelan said through an interpreter. "I was able to throw the ball well in my first opening day here in Toronto and I was very pleased with that." Toronto dropped to 26-10 in home openers and 16-7 at Rogers Centre, having lost two of its last three there. Fans were in a boisterous mood all night, frantically waving white towels to support a solid play by the Blue Jays or to offer inspiration to Toronto batters. But fans in the upper deck watched the game with only one beer in hand after sales were restricted to the seating area. Spectators were limited to just one beer per trip Monday, half of whats allowed at regular games. Other concession stands at Rogers Centre werent affected. In the 2009 home opener against Detroit, fights broke out in the stands and the game was delayed when fans threw litter on the field. Mondays gathering was well behaved with only one fight that broke out in the lower level. Doubront allowed two earned runs and four hits over five innings. He also registered six strikeouts and three walks before giving way to right-hander Atchison to start the sixth. Toronto opened the scoring with two in the bottom of the third. ColbyRasmus scored on KellyJohnsons fielders choice as Doubront handled Johnsons comebacker to the mound and threw home. But Rasmus, who made a sparkling diving catch in centre in the second before delivering a one-out triple, managed to beat JarrodSaltalamacchias tag. YunelEscobar made it 2-0, scoring from second on EdwinEncarnacions RBI single. Boston threatened in the top of the fifth after Rosss single and Sweeneys ground-rule double put two on with one out. But Alvarez got Saltalamacchia and MikeAviles to both ground out and end the threat. The Red Sox got their first run of the game in the top of the sixth on Pedroias first homer of the season. Mondays contest opened an 11-day, nine-game homestand for Toronto. Following the three-game series with Boston, the Blue Jays will have a day off Thursday before opening a three-game weekend set against Baltimore. The club will have another off-day April 16 before finishing up with three games against Tampa Bay. NOTES --Toronto slugger JoseBautista, who led the majors last season with 43 home runs, received his Silver Slugger award prior to the game then went hitless in four at-bats . . . Toronto is scheduled to send right-hander KyleDrabek to the mound in the second game of the series Tuesday night against Boston, with the Red Sox to counter with right-hander DanielBard. Blue Jays ace RickyRomero will get his second start of the season in the series finale Wednesday afternoon, facing JonLester in a battle of left-handers . . . Boston was 10-8 last year against the Blue Jays and came into Mondays contest 96-79 at Rogers Centre and 140-112 all-time in Toronto. The two teams will meet 18 times this season . . . The team says Paul is day to day and is questionable for Mondays game against New Jersey. Danny Manning grew up watching Wake Forest play games at the Greensboro Coliseum, memories that linger in his mind all these years later. Cheap NFL Jerseys . He never thought one day hed coach the Demon Deacons. Manning, the former Kansas star who spent the past two seasons coaching Tulsa, was hired Friday as Wake Forests basketball coach. Hell be introduced at a news conference next week on campus in Winston-Salem, N.C., a short drive from where Manning grew up. "I spent a lot of my formative childhood years in North Carolina," Manning told The Associated Press on Friday at AT&T Stadium, the site of this weekends Final Four. "I spent the majority of my life in Kansas," Manning said, "but this was a chance to be a part of a university that I share the same values and history with." His hiring ends Wake Forests two-week search for a replacement for Jeff Bzdelik, who resigned under intense public pressure following four mostly unremarkable seasons. Manning, who was 38-29 with two post-season berths in two seasons at Tulsa, interviewed this week and toured the campus in Winston-Salem on Wednesday before taking the job two days later. His hiring is considered somewhat risky because of his lack of head coaching experience, but theres no question he brings instant name recognition to a program that dropped to near the bottom of the expanded Atlantic Coast Conference. "There have been very few players who have had as much success on the court as Danny," Wake Forest athletic director Ron Wellman said in a statement. "He has played for and worked under a number of legendary coaches and he has been successful in his coaching career. We fully expect that Dannys coaching career will reflect the excellence of his playing career." Manning attended Greensboro Page High School before his family moved to Lawrence, Kan., for his senior year, and when it was time to choose a college, he picked Kansas over North Carolina. After his "Danny and the Miracles" team won the national title in Kansas City, not far from the Jayhawks campus, Manning was drafted first overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1988. He made two All-Star teams during a career marred by injuries before joining coach Bill Selfs staff at Kansas in 2003. Responsible primarily for working with post players, Manning was promoted to assistant coach in 2006 and two years ago earned his first head coaching job at Tulsa. Self called Manning "one of the most accomplished, humble people youll ever meet." The 47-year-old Manning took the Golden Hurricane to the CBI in his first year and followed that by guiding them to the Conference USA tournament title and their first NCAA tournament berth since 2003. They earned a No. 13 seed and lost to UCLA in their tournament opener. Tulsa forward Rashad Smith said he found out about Mannings move through teammates and media reports, though he said the coach texted him shortly thereafter. Guard James Woodard said it was "kind of shocking. "You know in the back of your mind, the run we had this year, there would be a lot of opportunities out there," Woodard said. "Im happy for him." Wake Forest never came close to making the NCAA tournament under Bzdelik, who stepped down March 20. Bzdelik went 51-76 with a 17-51 record in ACC play, and won only two league road games. Eight players transferred out during his tenure, and the Demon Deacons have been one of the youngest programs in the country -- with only one fourth-year senior in each of the past two years. Barring any more transfers, Manning will inherit a team with eight players who are either juniors or redshirt juniors -- including promising big man Devin Thomas and tempo-setting guard Codi Miller-McIntyre. As details of Mannings hiring trickled across Twitter, Miller-McIntyre tweeted: "Finally its over! Time to get back to work." Manning called the Demon Deacons a "sleeping giant," one that he believes will be able to contend with Tobacco Road rivals Duke and North Carolina in the near future. "A few years back, they were ranked No. 1 in the country," Manning told AP. "Theyve had great players. Youre about Chris Paul, Tim Duncan, just to name a few, because theyve had quite a few. "Im looking forward to going there and being part of that great tradition." Cheap Jerseys . -- Three close looks at the bucket, three misses. Cheap Jerseys from china . And former Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson certainly knows his pain. "Its pretty hard to coach there without allowing some of these things to kind of affect you," Wilson told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun in his ESPN.Suzann Pettersen won the LPGA Lotte Championship on Saturday, beating Lizette Salas with a par on the first hole of a playoff after Salas chunked her approach shot into the water. Pettersen, the leader after the second and third rounds at Ko Olina, bogeyed the final hole of regulation to set up the playoff on the par-4 18th. The 32-year-old Norwegian closed with a 5-under 67, and Salas had a tournament-record 62 to finish at 19-under 269. "I thought 20 was going to do it," Pettersen said. "That would take a fantastic round from anyone behind me, and it would take some good golf from me, but that was kind of the number I was shooting for." Salas had a double bogey on the playoff hole. She played a nine-hole stretch in 9 under, birdieing Nos. 8-9, holing out from the fairway for eagle on the par-4 10th and adding birdies on Nos. 12-16. "Chunk is not bad, but if you have water its really bad," Salas said. "But I still had a chance, and that putt didnt go in. Not everything is going to fall, but I played my butt off today." The 23-year-old American was coming off a devastating collapse two weeks ago in the Kraft Nabisco Championship when she closed with a 79 to tie for 25th after beginning the final round three strokes behind playing partner and eventual winner Inbee Park. "From shooting a 79 at Kraft to shooting a 62 here in Hawaii, like that just -- I cant really describe the feeling, just I feel so proud of myself to put that 79 in the back of my mind and just to go out and play some golf," Salas said. "I took a big risk in using the short putter, but I felt extremely comfortable. I felt like me again." Pettersen won her 11th LPGA Tour title. She had consecutive LPGA Tour victories late last season in South Korea and Taiwan and won a Ladies European Tour event last month in China. "My game has been feeling great," Pettersen said. "Its nice that I have kept kind of the progress that I had from Kraft." Pettersen birdied the par-3 12th get to 18 under, three strokes ahead of Salas, then bogeyed the par-5 13th after she lost her ball on her drive when she was distracted by a car honk. She birdied Nos. 14, 15 and 17 to reach 20 under, but couldnt get up and down for par on 18. "Ive kind of figured out how I play well, and I play well when I stay aggressive," Pettersen said. "I hate to play defensive and I hate to play away from the pins, and obviously at times you have to. Thats when the experience comes in. But for me to shy away and not step on the pedal, thats not me. If I make an error being too aggressive, I can live witth it. Wholesale Jerseys. But if I make an error playing defensive trying to protect something, I mean, I wouldnt shoot myself, but its hard for me to accept it." Salas has four top-10 finishes in seven starts this year. The daughter of Mexican immigrants, she was introduced to the game when her father, the head mechanic at Azusa Greens Golf Course west of Los Angeles, did some handyman jobs for the club pro and, instead of pay, asked him to teach his daughter to play. She went on to star at the University of Southern California, where she was a four-time All-America selection and helped the Trojans win the 2008 NCAA title. "My mom is here, everyone has been pulling for me, and I just -- baby steps," Salas said. "Ive got to just keep working on the things Im working on, and the good thing is Im going home tonight to see my family tomorrow for a day, and Im sure theyre very proud of me." Pettersen looked up at the leaderboard and was surprised to see Salas name up there. "I birdied 15, and then I think I was aware that she was like 18 under," Pettersen said. "So I mean, she wasnt going anywhere, and Im like, Oh, my God, where did she start this day? Because I didnt remember seeing her next to my name on the list yesterday. "Shes a tough cookie. Shes been playing fantastic. Shes just got to keep putting herself in this position, and shell get her win." Ariya Jutanugarn, the 17-year-old from Thailand, shot a 66 to finish third at 15 under. The top-ranked Park had a 67 to tie for fourth with I.K. Kim at 13 under. Kim shot 65. "We played one week and Im still No. 1, so I know I kind of deserve No. 1 spot now," Park said. "I played very good golf this week. The first two rounds my putts didnt really fall, but round three and four it was much better. Very happy with my game at the moment and very confident." Lydia Ko, the 15-year-old New Zealand amateur who won the Canadian Open in August to become the youngest LPGA Tour winner, tied for ninth at 10 under after a 6. The South Korea-born Ko has two other pro victories, the New South Wales Open last year and New Zealand Womens Open this year, and won the U.S. Womens Amateur last season. Second-ranked Stacy Lewis also finished at 10 under after a 71. Local favourite Michelle Wie shot a 68, her best round of the tournament, to finish at 5 under. She broke 70 for second straight day and for only the third time in 22 rounds this season. Torontos Rebecca Lee-Bentham closed with a 68, to finish 17 shots back at 286. Sara Maude Juneau of Fossambault-sur-le-lac, Que., had a 76, and finished at 295. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

The New York State Supreme Court only partially dismissed the lawsuit, meaning the case could be headed for trial. The tour announced a year ago that Singh would be suspended for saying in a Sports Illustrated story that he took deer antler spray, which was believed to contain the banned substance IGF-1. Late in the appeals process, the tour dropped the case when the World Anti-Doping Agency said deer antler spray was no longer a concern. Singh sued the tour in May -- the day before The Players Championship -- saying it exposed him to "public humiliation and ridicule" during the investigation. In Tuesdays order, Judge Eileen Bransten threw out five of seven elements in the tours motion to dismiss. Four of them effectively agreed with the tours argument that Singh had to abide by the anti-doping policy because he willingly signed up as a PGA Tour member. Another part of the ruling rejected Singhs claim of intentional emotional distress. "This is a big win," said Peter Ginsberg, an attorney for the Hall of Fame golfer from Fiji. "The cornerstone of our lawsuit is that the PGA Tour violated in covenant to treat Vijay fairly, and the court has allowed us to proceed with that claim." Asked if the tour or Singh had talked about a settlement, Ginsberg declined comment. PGA Tour spokesman Ty Votaw said it does not comment on pending legal matters. Along with ruling in favour of Singh on his allegations of fair treatment, the court sided with his complaint that the tour unfairly held $99,980 in PGA Tour earnings while the case was being investigated. Singh says his prize money was being held in escrow since the 2013 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, before he was informed of his suspension. Most daamaging for the tour in Tuesdays ruling is the potential for Singh to demand evidence involving other players.www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net. Both sides already are battling over how much information the tour should hand over regarding its handling of other players. "So far the tour has put up a road block and failed to produce anything," Ginsberg said. "The court has made it clear that the PGA has to satisfy our requests. Well go through discovery, and we expect to go all the way through with this." The tour is the only major sports league in America that does not announce how it punishes its players for violations, such as bad conduct. Even when JohnDaly told The Associated Press in 2008 that he had been suspended for six months for his conduct, the tour would not confirm it. The anti-doping policy requires the tour to announce when a player has been suspended for performance-enhancing drugs (but not which one). DougBarron is the only player to have been suspended since the program began in July 2008. But the commissioner does not have to disclose any suspension for recreational drugs. Even though Singh agreed to the anti-doping policy as a PGA Tour member, Bransten said Singh could proceed under the "good faith and fair dealing" because of his allegation that the tour was "reckless in its administration of the program." The tour had warned players about deer antler spray because it was believed to contain an insulin-like growth factor on the tours list of banned substances. It can only be detected through a blood test -- the tour only tests urine samples. But the admission of taking a banned substance constitutes a positive test under the tours anti-doping policy. Singhs lawyers have said the amount of IGF-1 in the spray is so diluted that it would be comparable to pouring a shot glass of bourbon in an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and then drinking a shot from the pool water. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- The Anaheim Ducks took nothing for granted on the last day of their longest road trip of the season. They didnt sit back and put the New York Rangers into an early hole they never got out of. FrederikAndersen made 32 saves to stay perfect in four NHL games, and CoreyPerry and KylePalmieri scored first-period goals to lead the Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday night. "To play in Madison Square Garden is something special. I love New York," Andersen said. "There are so many great things to do here, and I guess another one is to win a hockey game." The Ducks finished a season-high, eight-game road trip 5-2-1 -- including 5-0-1 in the final six games. Perry and Palmieri staked Anaheim to a 2-0 lead just 9:09 in, and the 24-year-old Andersen did the rest. "He was huge, kept us in it all night," Palmieri said. "We were able to get those two goals, and he made it stand up. Hes been awesome. Tonight was no different." In four NHL games, all this season, Andersen is 4-0. He has allowed a total of five goals, and only defenceman MichaelDelZotto got a puck past him. "We dug deep for this one," Perry said. "Last one on a road trip is always the toughest one, and we earned it. Were ready to get home." RyanMcDonagh pressed for the tying goal with 6:00 remaining in the game, and was twice denied on hard shots. BenoitPouliot then had an in-close backhander stopped with 5:17 left, but drew a penalty. The Rangers received their third power play with 3:26 remaining, but that advantage was cut short when Pouliot took New Yorks first penalty of the game. Another came moments later for too many men on the ice. That killed any chance of a comeback. "Sometimes goalies have to come through," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. "We started playing like we didnt want to lose instead of going after them, which I think we did for most of the third period. Thats when you need your goalie to come up big." HenrikLundqvist stopped 23 shots for the Rangers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 2-1 on a homestand that ends Wednesday against Pittsburgh. "It was definitely not the way we wanted to start off this game," Lundqvist said. "They showed why they are a good team. They make yoou pay when things like that happen early.chinajerseysnflwholesale. "We couldve easily had at least a point today." Andersen preserved his shutout -- albeit briefly -- when he made a stellar save of a hard one-timer from the slot by BradRichards with 1:44 remaining in the second after Richards took a feed from behind the net from CarlHagelin. The Rangers kept the heat on the Ducks, who were forced to ice the puck. New York regained control on the ensuing faceoff and cut the deficit to 2-1 with 1:24 left. Rangers captain RyanCallahan put the puck on net, and Hagelin whacked at the rebound. With Andersen sprawled on his stomach, Del Zotto scored his first of the season from the lower edge of the circle. That sparked the crowd, and the fans were still cheering when McDonagh twice knocked Perry over the short boards and into the New York bench. McDonagh kept him doubled over the second time, and Rangers coach Alain Vigneault kept an arm around DerekDorsett to prevent him from taking any shots at Perry as the period ended. In the first, the Ducks picked up where they left off against the Rangers when they sent New York to a 6-0 drubbing on Oct. 10 at Anaheim. "They are a good team and they showed why they are in the high echelons of the NHL," Vigneault said. "They dont give you a lot. "I dont look at it as we lost (6-0) and then we found a way to lose 2-1 tonight. We needed to be better in certain areas." Anaheim grabbed the lead 1:29 in when Perry scored his ninth. DustinPenner sent a shot in that was stopped by Lundqvist, but no one picked up Perry in front, and he scored with his second whack at the rebound. The Ducks doubled their lead 6:40 later with help from the Rangers. Richards cleared the puck out, but he put it right on the stick of FrancoisBeauchemin in the neutral zone. Beauchemin skated the puck back in and found Palmieri in the high slot for a shot that beat Lundqvist. "This is a game of mistakes and making your opponent pay when they make mistakes," Vigneault said. NEW YORK - Weather. Cheap Jerseys . Its an influence in football and a big part of the game. And although the initial reports predict a temperature of plus-1 or 2 celsius, until they kick the ball off you just never know. The coldest Super Bowl ever played was in 1972 in New Orleans before the Mercedes-Benz Superdome existed between Dallas and Miami. It was 39 degrees fahrenheit which is about plus-4 celsius, so come Sunday that record could be re-written. When you consider the history of Wild Card, divisional and Conference Championship games, many have been played in brutal conditions. Most recently, San Francisco played at Green Bay in the Wild Card round on Jan. 5 and that one was well played and the best team on that day won. When it was first announced that New York as a city and New Jersey as a specific location would hold a Super Bowl many did cringe, myself included. But when it comes to the many amenities needed such as hotel rooms, meeting facilities, football fields, transportation networks then the area involved will provide anything needed. When the game was played in Jacksonville and Indianapolis I thought the magnitude of the event stretched the ability of the city to hold the event. I will say this though. The 2013 Grey Cup held in Regina, Saskatchewan did have a couple of days where the weather personally made me hesitate to be involved, but those were days of minus-16 and evenings of minus-26 celsius. Yes, if it gets that cold it will take away from the game as many are not conditioned for that type of challenge. Once the week starts on Monday it is mildly amazing how well and efficiently the Super Bowl is run. Everything is on time and I mean everything. If a player or coach is to appear, they are there. And for those in demand it is demanding. If a normal day is between eight and nine hours including preparation meetings and practice, you can add another three hours for media and their desires. That is especially true for the stars. The players on the back end of the roster by Thursday are not in demand and its time to read the paper or relax if you can. The people at the front end of the roster are always in demand. Monday it is for a select few, Tuesday is for everybody as traditional "Media Day" is the priority and Wednesday and Thursday the location switches to each teams hotels. By Thursday every question has been asked and you do sense that its time to move on. On Friday and Saturday it all tapers down in a dramatic way with only single players and head coaches available. The actual best meeting of the week is Friday at 11:30am. That is the "State of the League" address with the commissioner Roger Goodell and you do get a sense of what is working, what needs improvement and the timeline of future events for 2014. It also marks the presentation for NFL Player of the Year which recognizes the standard of excellence both on and off the field. So from Monday to Friday it is an odd week, a promotional week for anything and everything related to the NFL and the Super Bowl itself. It is true that many go to be seen and heard but come Saturday it changes to football. Outside of game day, Saturday is an explosion of anticipation. Everything that could be said has been said and just about everybody is over-saturated with predictions, thoughts and evaluations. It is time to play the game, not so much because it is close to February 2, just because enough is enough it terms of talk. Its time to play. Game day is special. We as a group always go early and take it all in and just watch people from everywhere interact. Well depending on weather, maybe we wont go too early this year. As much as I like the game I am fascinated by the halftime show. From our high altitude vantage point it is impressive how they get thousands of people on the field in a disciplined and short period of time. When the game is over it is controlled chaos as everyone either wants to leave the stadium, stay in the stadium or get on the field. And basically thats the week. A lot of hurry up and wait, then done, mess it up, followed by get ready to do it again tomorrow. It is part event, part celebration, part celebrity status recognition and in the end a championship football game. With the No. 1 seed in the AFC playing the No. 1 seed in the NFC it is difficult to argue that we will find the best team in the end. But there is a lot to be experienced before that conclusive moment. Including some guaranteed cold weather. Wholesale Jerseys . PETERSBURG, Fla. Cheap Jerseys from china . Lee doubled and scored in his debut, Buerhle struck out a season-best eight over 7 2-3 innings and Miami beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 Thursday to split the four-game series.TORONTO - The Raptors and Nets dont like each other, even after one playoff game that has been made abundantly clear. If youre looking to trace back that animosity, start with Torontos one-point victory at Barclays Center in late January. There was a playoff-type buzz in the building that night. DeMarDeRozan sat out with an ankle injury, KyleLowry and PaulPierce both turned in playoff-type performances. There were 18 lead changes, nine ties and three technical fouls - on Lowry, Piece and KevinGarnett - later, the Raptors stole the game, literally, as PatrickPatterson picked off a DeronWilliams pass and hit the winner. "This is a team we could see in the playoffs," uttered multiple voices in both locker rooms and at that point we knew, somehow, some way it was bound to become a reality. TerrenceRoss continued to foreshadow a couple days later, listing the Nets as a preferred playoff opponent. AndrayBlatche was not amused. Meanwhile, the Nets also had Toronto on their wish list as they rested players and lost games to maximize the odds of this matchup coming to fruition. The Raptors were not amused, at least they shouldnt have been. Then the war of words started. "[Expletive] Brooklyn," yelled Raptors president, general manager and hype man Masai Ujiri as he addressed thousands of fans outside the Air Canada Centre prior to Saturdays Game 1. Reluctantly, he delivered a halftime apology, more for the choice of phrasing than the message itself. Hes not alone in that sentiment. "That should represent how we all feel," Dwane Casey said after his team fell victim to the veteran savvy of Brooklyn in the series opener. "I feel the same way and Ive got his back," added GreivisVasquez. "We dont like any of them either. Thats how we all feel. All of us." Nets coach JasonKidd said he didnt know who the Raptors GM was and on Sunday the barbs continued to fly. "Im shocked that Bryan Colangelo would say that," Pierce said to the New York Post, informed of what the opposing GM had to say the day before. Reminded that Ujiri replaced Colangelo in the Raptors front office last summer, as if he were somehow unaware, Pierce responded, "I dont know what youre talking about." Theres genuine hostility here. Its not manufactured, though the media has helped fan the flames. "Raptors vs. Dinosaurs," read the Toronto Sun cover on game day, poking fun at the age of Pierce and Garnett. "Dont F*** With Bklyn," the New York Daily News shot back 24 hours later. This has the makings of a competitive, heated series, but rivalry? "I dont think its a rivalry at all," KyleLowry said following a Sunday afternoon practice session outside of the Raptors gym on the third level of the ACC. Hes right. Neither team will call this a rivalry and neitheer should. Cheap NFL Jerseys. Territorially, the Nets and the Knicks are natural adversaries, while the Nets - especially with former Celtics Pierce and Garnett on board - have their sites set on throwing down with the Heat, who they defeated four times this season. The Raptors? They dont have a rival. Thats the unfortunate reality of qualifying for the playoffs six times in 19 seasons. For the bulk of their existence, and especially during a recent five-year postseason layoff, theyve been their own worst enemy. "I dont know," said Casey, "rivalry?" "I think the whole Atlantic Divisions a rivalry, the Eastern Conference. We havent got to the spot yet where we can say, Hey, theyre a rival. New Jerseys been to the Finals before, we havent. A lot of teams in our division have been there, where were trying to get to. Weve got to earn that." Thats their focus right now, as it should be. Earning it. The Raptors lost Game 1, not because of Ujiri, not because of anything that was said or done off the floor. They lost because they were outplayed by a team that was not fazed by the moment, by their surroundings. The ACC was electric on Saturday and the sellout crowd did their part, and then some. The building looked and sounded like the "living hell" that Ujiri has called for over and over again. Chants of "Nets suck" and "KG sucks" rang down from the stands throughout the afternoon. Is Toronto a basketball town? It sure seemed like it for three hours but one thing is for certain, its a sports city and as such, it craves that rivalry. It still boos VinceCarter, it still shows up to jeer the Knicks, a former playoff foe from the Raptors "glory days". It would like nothing more than to believe that Brooklyn is the enemy, and for at least three more games they will be. Then what? It depends on what happens here. Rivalries are made in the playoffs and a long, emotional, drawn-out series, almost regardless of the result, would go a long way in prolonging the underlying hatred between these two clubs. For now its being put to the side, at least in the Raptors locker room, where bouncing back and evening the series is now a top priority. Aside from a brief quip to lead off his media scrum - "I promise you I wont have any profanity" - Casey wanted no part in discussing Ujiris controversial speech from the day before. Neither did his players. A war of words may not lose them this series, but it wont win it either. On Sunday the message was clear; a little less conversation, a little more action, please. "This is about basketball," said the Raptors coach. "All that stuff has happened." "All the other stuff, what was said, its about basketball. Its about screening. Its about finishing plays. Its about executing defensively. I dont want to get off on another tangent." cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

ST. cheap nfl jerseys . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Dean Anna wasnt nervous during a key at-bat in extra innings. He was enjoying it. Anna drew a bases-loaded walk on a full-count pitch with two outs in the 12th inning and CarlosBeltran followed with a two-run single as the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1 on Sunday. "I was having fun," Anna said. "Baseball is all about moments, and that was a moment right there." Yangervis Solarte was walked by HeathBell (0-1) to open the 12th. After failing twice to bunt against C.J. Riefenhauser, BrettGardner reached on a fielders choice and went to third on BrianMcCanns two-out single. JacobyEllsbury was intentionally walked before Anna checked his swing to complete an eight-pitch at-bat and drive in the go-ahead run. "Just a tremendous at-bat," Yankees manager JoeGirardi said. "Tough situation." Beltran had his hit off Josh Leuke before AlfonsoSoriano added an RBI single that made it 5-1. PrestonClaiborne (1-0) went two scoreless innings for the Yankees. The teams split a wild four-game series. After the Yankees beat DavidPrice and the Rays 10-2 in Thursdays opener, Tampa Bay rebounded for 11-5 and 16-1 victories Friday and Saturday. DerekJeter opened the 11th with a single off Bell. IchiroSuzuki pinch-ran for Jeter and stole second with one out, but Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon challenged the call and after a 2 minute, 4 second delay the umpires changed the close call to out. "Im taking a chance to get a run there," Girardi said. "Ich probably had a better chance of stealing a base. Its a hard decision, but some of the inexperience I have in my bullpen, I went for it that inning." New York took a 1-0 lead in the fourth when Gardner was given an RBI double after a challenge by Girardi. The umpires first ruled that Rays right fielder WilMyers had caught Gardners drive at the wall for the third out. The call was overturned following a 2:17 delay after replays clearly showed Myers caught the ball after it hit off the top of the wall. Gardner thought an inside-the-park homer might have been in order, but still was happy that replay was used. "If we dont have it, it would be a flyball," Gardner said. Soriano, who opened the fourth with a double, was on third and was awarded home on the overturned decision. Tampa Bay tied it at 1 on pinch-hitter MattJoyces two-out sacrifice fly in the seventh. The Rays capitalized after second baseman BrianRoberts dropped a throw on a force play earlier in the inning. "Weve been swinging the bats so well and today we were just minus," Maddon said. "Theres really no solid explanation. I cant stand here and say the Yankees pitched great. We just did not have a good offensive day." New York starter VidalNuno, in the mix to take the spot of injured starter IvanNova, allowed three hits over five shutout innings. The Yankees put Nova, who was hurt in Saturdays game, on the 15-day disabled list with a partial ulnar collateral ligament tear in his right elbow that could require surgery. CesarRamos, who replaced the injured MattMoore in the Rays rotation, gave up one run and four hits in five innings. Moore is scheduled to have elbow ligament replacement surgery Tuesday. Yankees first baseman MarkTeixeira had a second-inning single in his first at-bat and finished 2 for 5 after being activated from the 15-day disabled list before the game. Teixeira hurt an adductor muscle that runs alongside the hamstring trying to make a play on a foul grounder during an April 4 game against Toronto. NOTES: Riefenhauser was optioned to Triple-A Durham after the game to make room for RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo (elbow surgery) to come off the DL Tuesday. ... Tampa Bay CF DesmondJennings (groin) was out of the lineup for the third straight game. ... Yankees RHP Masahiro Tanaka (2-0) and Red Sox LHP JonLester (2-2) will start in the opener of a three-game series at Fenway Park Tuesday night. ... Rays LHP DavidPrice (2-1) and Minnesota RHP KyleGibson (3-0) will pitch Tuesday night to start a three-game series. ... Atletico built a provisional three-point advantage over Barcelona before the defending champion hosts Elche on Sunday. Barcelona then visits Atletico in the following round. "We will have to wait and see if Barcelona wins tomorrow to stay leader, as it is accustomed to doing," Atletico coach Diego Simeone said. Wholesale Jerseys .J. -- New York Giants wide receiver VictorCruz will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on his left knee. SAINT-DENIS, France -- The referees decision to postpone Frances Six Nations match against Ireland because the field was frozen on Saturday angered the French Rugby Federation president Pierre Camou. Two hours after declaring the Stade de France field fit to play on, referee Dave Pearson postponed the match moments before the 9 p.m. kickoff, when the temperature was minus-5 Celsius, with a wind chill of minus-11. Camou struggled to contain his anger at Pearsons last-ditch call. "I think the referee, who is absent tonight, because he doesnt want to talk, was aware, knew, had seen, last night and a little while ago (the state of the field)," Camou said, making it clear the FFR was not to blame. "In this precise case, we are participants, and in no way decision-makers ... its not down to me. "I feel totally saddened, to say the least, for all of those who have made the journey," Camou added. "I dont want to get carried away and use words (that are too strong). I deeply regret this decision." Camou took a final, sarcastic swipe at Pearson, noting that Italys home match against England hours earlier had gone ahead in subzero temperatures. Snow fell at Stadio Olimpico, covering large parts of the field. "I think I saw a rugby match this afternoon, at the Olympic Stadium," he said. "The referee was French." Ireland coach Declan Kidney, however, agreed with postponing the match. "The pitch was unsafe for the players to play on," Kidney said. "It was quite dangerous." France coach Philippe Saint-Andre understood Pearsons decision, as did his players. "Hes the one in charge of the players safety, he decided that two or three areas of the field were hardening and were dangerous," Saint-Andre said. Winger Vincent Clerc said he felt "gutted" for the fans whod made the trip, but also backed Pearson. "Last week the field was already very hard against Italy, but this time there really were blocks (of ice), areas where it was impossible (to play)," Clerc said. "I think its a wise decision." Centre Aurelien Rougerie would have played, given the chance, but also thought it sensible not to. "Were always ready to play, ready for anything," Rougerie said. "I think its a sensible and logical decision. Theress always the risk of injury, whether going on a run or in the scrum. cheap soccer jerseys. " Six Nations spokeswoman Christine Connolly said the decision rested firmly with Pearson. "The referee came to look at the game last night, the field was covered, and he thought that it was possible to play," Connolly said. "He looked at the field again at 1900 and deemed that the field was playable. Unfortunately, in the ensuing two hours he thought that the field was worsened, that it was frozen in several areas and was dangerous and unplayable." Kidney expected the match to be played during one of the two weekend breaks in the tournament, either next Saturday or March 3. Connolly confirmed this would be the case, with a decision possibly as soon as Monday. Huge jeers rang out at the sold-out Stade de France as the players failed to take to the field, with a marching band in the middle ready to play the national anthems. The stadium announcer was drowned out by the booing when he informed the crowd the match referee called off the game. France captain Thierry Dusuatoir then took the microphone to address the fans. "Thanks to everyone for coming to encourage us tonight, unfortunately the game has been called off," Dusautoir said. "I hope you will all come and support us next time. The decision has been taken, and now we will prepare for the next time." Both teams went out onto the field to applaud the crowd, which did little to soften the blow. Kidney admitted the decision had taken the players by surprise. "The reaction to the guys in the dressing room was youre joking me," Kidney said. "How do you get that pumped up for a game, you know? International rugby or any professional rugby isnt something where you arrive and you go out for a friendly jog around. But they are great lads and theres a good bit of banter in the dressing room now." Saint-Andre also said his players were preparing to brave the dangerous conditions. "I can assure you that the dressing room was really up for it," he said. "Were very disappointed, first of all for the fans who came to get behind the French fans, secondly for the players whod prepared to play. "Now we have to wait. We would preferably like to play next Saturday or Sunday ... were on standby." cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

THE FORMATIONS Toronto FC lined up in a 4-4-2 formation, as it did last weekend in its 2-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders. Nike Air Max 90 Dam Online. There was one change to TFCs starting XI, as designated player, Gilberto, made his debut in a Toronto jersey, replacing Dwayne De Rosario up front. DC United named an unchanged lineup from their 3-0 loss to the Columbus Crew on the opening weekend of the season (DC had a bye last weekend). Head coach Ben Olsen again chose to line up his team in a 4-4-2 diamond formation. (Click for larger) THE GAME Toronto FCs home debut wasnt pretty. Not because the players on display were poor, but because the pitch simply wasnt ready for soccer. That is not the fault of the BMO Field grounds crew though, who did an admirable job getting the surface prepared for the game. But after the coldest winter in recent memory, it was always going to be an impossible task to turn the playing surface into the lush carpet that players come to expect. While DC United boss Ben Olsen said the pitch "was as bad as Ive ever seen in MLS", it didnt stop the players from trying to play. But the bobbly surface, which cut up as the game wore on, made it virtually impossible for the players to string long sequences of passes together. Despite the difficult conditions (it was also cold and windy down on the pitch), there were some glimpses of what lies ahead for the long-suffering fans of Toronto FC. The partnership between Jermain Defoe and Gilberto looks to be very promising. Defoes movement in the final third was exceptional, and he had a number of chances in the first half to break the deadlock. In Gilberto, Defoe has a partner who can serve as his perfect foil. The Brazilian was comfortable dropping deep to receive the ball, didnt shy away from the physical battle, and once he had the ball at his feet, was willing to drive at the back four or play the role of provider. Michael Bradley was again a dominant force in midfield, and his partnership with Jonathan Osorio is also reason for optimism. They can both get caught ahead of the ball at times (as they did in Seattle last week for the Sounders goal) but that is due more to their lack of familiarity than to any tactical negligence. The early signs are that these two players will be very influential for Toronto FC. At the back, TFC looked comfortable all game. Both Doneil Henry and Steven Caldwell had strong games, with Henry winning everything in the air. In Eddie Johnson and Fabian Espindola, DC United have two very experienced front men, but Henry and Caldwell thwarted everything that the pair could throw their way. THE TURNING POINT Only one goal separated the teams at the final whistle, and it came from great work from Torontos three designated players. Apparently, you do get what you pay for. On the hour mark, Bradley picked up a square ball from Osorio in midfield, took one touch and floated a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Gilberto, who had made a great run in behind DC Uniteds central defender, Jeff Parke. (Click for larger) Gilberto settled the ball with a perfect first touch, and as the covering defender, Bobby Boswell, was closing him down, fired a right-footed shot on target. Look at the positional awareness of Defoe when Gilberto is shooting; he put himself in the ideal position to pick up the rebound. He didnt charge in full-speed towards goal; instead, he held his run so that he could adjust his position, which gave him the best possible chance of recovering the ball. (Click for larger) DC United goalkeeper, Bill Hamid, did very well to parry the hard, low shot from Gilberto. Bobby Boswell tried to hack the ball clear, but Defoe, who had taken up the ideal position inside the penalty area, intercepted his clearance. (Click for larger) From there, Defoe did what he does best. He took one touch to set himself and one touch to fire the ball into the back of the net. THE POSITIVES In a scrappy game, it was encouraging to see the developing partnerships all over the pitch for Toronto FC. The strength of this team is its spine: Defoe-Gilberto / Bradley-Osorio / Caldwell-Henry / Julio Cesar is as good a spine as any team in MLS. If those players can stay healthy (and not miss too many games due to this summers World Cup), Toronto FC fans can look forward to playoff soccer for the first time in the clubs history. Defoe was a class apart against DC United. His movement to pull off the shoulders of the DC United defenders was something that all aspiring strikers should watch over and over again. But I thought that 20-year old Henry was immense for TFC. Ive said it before (and I promise you, Ill be saying it again) - Henry is going to be a real player. THE NEGATIVES Jackson had a game to forget, and I suspect that he could be getting a call from the Leagues Disciplinary Committee. In the 50th minute, Jackson was booked for an altercation with DC Uniteds Davy Arnaud. While the referee cautioned Jackson on the play, I think that video evidence will show that Jackson intentionally elbowed Arnaud off the ball which could draw a suspension similar to the one received by Seattles Clint Dempsey for striking TFCs Mark Bloom last weekend. THE STAR MAN With three goals in his first two games in MLS, Defoe is off to a flying start for Toronto FC. Goals get the headlines and rightly so but it was Defoes overall play that was so impressive. His movement and finishing ability are superb, and if his teammates can continue to deliver him good service, it is quite possible that Defoe will sit atop the leagues scoring chart come the end of the season. Never before has Toronto FC started the season with two victories. But a major investment in better players is paying dividends early on for TFC as they sit joint top of the Eastern Conference standings with maximum points from their first two games. Nike Air Max 90 Dam Sverige . The Predators announced that Rinne had been cleared for the next step of his recovery after meeting with doctors earlier Monday. Coach Barry Trotz said a meeting was planned for later Monday to set a weekly plan for Rinne. Nike Air Max 90 Rea . The incident happened during Barcelonas 3-2 win at Villarreal on April 27th when Alves, who is black, picked up the banana thrown by 26-year-old David Campayo Lleo, bit off a piece and then discarded it.MINNEAPOLIS -- The banged-up Minnesota Timberwolves were just what the Portland Trail Blazers needed. Having lost six of their previous 10 games, and with a date against first-place Oklahoma City looming on Tuesday, the Blazers took advantage of a Timberwolves team missing three of its best players. "We felt that way even if they had all their guys," LaMarcusAldridge said after scoring 26 points to lead Portland past Minnesota 117-110 Saturday night. "If they had those guys, it definitely wouldve been different, but this was a must-win game either way." Aldridge scored 16 of his points in the second half and WesleyMatthews added 21 as the Blazers held off a tougher-than-expected Wolves team missing starters KevinLove, NikolaPekovic and KevinMartin. Just minutes before tipoff, the Wolves announced Love -- their All-Star power forward -- would miss the game with a bruised left quadriceps sustained in Friday nights loss in New Orleans. Shortly before that, Martin was ruled out indefinitely with a broken left thumb, also suffered against the Pelicans. Combined with Pekovic, the trio accounts for an average of 60 points and 25 rebounds per game. "It takes a little edge off the game," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "We found out KevinMartin wasnt going to play early and then Love wasnt going to play. I think that deflates the balloon a little bit, you kind of get yourself up for guys like that." But the Blazers knew they couldnt afford to let up against the scrappy Wolves, who trailed for most of the first half but led 82-75 with 1:50 to play in the third quarter. CoreyBrewer led Minnesota with 26 points and RickyRubio scored a career-high 25. Minnesota led 87-85 with 9:48 to play in the game before Portland went on a 13-1 run to put the game away. Minnesota pulled within 101-96 with 3:29 to play before Matthews scored five straight and RobinLopez hit a layup to put the game out of reach. Nike Air Max 90 Herr. The Wolves got 19 points from ChaseBudinger, 14 from DanteCunningham and a season-high 12 from rookie ShabazzMuhammad. "It doesnt matter whos out," coach Rick Adelman said. "The next guy steps up, thats how you have to approach it. You cant worry about whos not playing, worry about who is playing, and make the best out of the situation. I thought we played well tonight." Aldridge had six points during Portlands game-deciding 13-1 run in the fourth quarter. That run came with Rubio on the bench. Rookie C.J.McCollum had a season-high 19 points and NicolasBatum added 15 for the Blazers, who finished their four-game road trip 2-2. "We were really counting on our bench tonight because I really wanted to rest the starters," Stotts said. "They all played a lot of minutes last night and the first half the bench really gave us a boost. We were able to make a little ground with them in the game." Minnesotas key starters also got a rest -- in their street clothes. "Its tough having all of those guys out," Budinger said. "Those are huge impact guys for us and were hoping Kevin was able to go but he was really struggling and hurting. He tried to get himself going but just couldnt do it." NOTES: During halftime, Love told The AP he hopes to play on Monday night against Houston. ... The Blazers played a second-straight game without backup point guard MoWilliams, who left the team Friday for family reasons. Stotts did not have an update on when Williams might return. ... Adelman is assuming Pekovic will not return until after the All-Star break. ... PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. Travis Wood Jersey . -- ZachJohnson made a quadruple-bogey 8 on his second hole and still managed a 67 in the Honda Classic on Thursday. TigerWoods had good birdie chances on his opening four holes and couldnt break par. Johnson made seven birdies after his soggy start -- two straight shots into the water -- and it took a few minutes for him to digest a wild round at PGA National. He looked as though he might have shot himself out of the tournament, but he ended the round two shots behind co-leaders WilliamMcGirt and RorySabbatini among the early starters. "It was easy to put behind me because it was the second hole," Johnson said. Woods was playing for the first time in a month -- and only his third tournament this year -- and he didnt show many signs of rounding into form. Coming off pedestrian finishes at Torrey Pines and Dubai, the worlds No. 1 player couldnt make any putts until he was scrambling for par. He had only three birdies in a round of 71 and likely will start the second round Friday outside the cut line. "I hit it good starting out," Woods said. "Hit it kind of scrappy in the middle and then hit it good at the end." The big blow came on No. 2 when he pulled his tee shot into thick rough, advanced the ball only about 25 yards, found a bunker and took double bogey. British Open champion PhilMickelson, Masters champion AdamScott and RoryMcIlroy were among the late starters at a tournament that features seven of the top nine players in the world, making it the strongest regular PGA Tour event of the season. McGirt is getting used to this position. Just two weeks ago, he had a two-shot lead going into the final round at Riviera until he closed with a 73 and tied for sixth. In his next start, hes right back at the top. McGirt had a tap-in eagle at No. 3 and kept bogeys off his card. "About as well as Ive played since Ive been out here," McGirt said. "Just stayed out of my own way." Sabbatini is a past winner at the Honda Classic. BrendondeJonge, DerekErnst, TommyGainey and Brice Garnett were among those at 66, while LukeDonald joined Johnson in the group at 67. Johnson had a day to remember. Anyone with an 8 on the card before breakfast gets cold has reason to think the tournament effectively is over. Johnson looked to be in shock as he stood in the 11th fairway. He was between a 6-iron and a 7-iron, went for the 6-iron and saw it come down in the water. Because he carried the water the entire way, he had to drop well back in the fairway. Johnson went up 10 paces (still behind the hazard line) and went with the 7-iron. That didnt make it. So he took a few steps back and changed to the 6-iron and pulled that to the left back of the green. "That was the worst shot I hit of the three," he said. But instead of getting down, Johnson thought back to the time he was in the second stage of Q-school. On the opening hole, he took an 8. "I hit the ball eight times without a penalty," he said. "And I finished second." He still had at least 34 holes remaining and started putting them to good use, especially how he closed out the back nine with three straight birdies. "Not surprising knowing how tough this guy is," said Woods, who played alongside Johnson and wound up four shots worse. "He was pretty stoked about what he did today." Woods is still trying to emerge. As the defending champion and an eight-time winner at Torrey Pines, he missed the 54-hole cut. At Dubai, where he was a two-time winner, he tied for 41st. Woods has played in only four tournaments, not including the Presidents Cup, since the Tour Championship last September. He talked Wednesday about possibly altering his pre-Masters schedule, though he has not made clear what he meant by that. The biggest issue was converting birdie chances. He opened with three shots pin-high, two from about 18 feet, the other from 6 feet, and never touched the hole. "It certainly wasnt together today," he said. "Didnt get into a roll early." Billy Williams Cubs Jersey . LUCIE, Fla. Welington Castillo Cubs Jersey . - Wednesdays lightweight bout between Canadian Sam (Hands of Stone) Stout and K.NEW YORK -- The stands were filled and the fences were much closer. ChrisYoung and the New York Mets certainly enjoyed the cozy confines across town. Young hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning, JenrryMejia provided a jolt after his reluctant move to the bullpen and the previously punchless Mets went deep four times to rally past the banged-up Yankees 9-7 Monday night in the Subway Series opener. The crowd of 46,517, chanting back and forth, included Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra -- who received a warm hand on his 89th birthday -- and a large throng of Mets fans in left field wearing orange shirts that read "Bronx Invasion." "It was like a big party out there in the outfield, and it keeps you in the game," said Young, who played centre and left. "I was saying that I was having the most fun that Ive had even before the home run." After going 4-0 last year for their first season sweep of the Yankees, the Mets picked up right where they left off last May. CurtisGranderson connected in his return to Yankee Stadium, and the Mets also got long balls from EricYoung Jr. and TravisdArnaud while overcoming a pair of three-run deficits. Lumbering first baseman LucasDuda turned in two spectacular defensive plays, starting a game-ending double play with runners at the corners by making a diving stop of BrianMcCanns sharp grounder. Taking full advantage of a hitter-friendly ballpark, rather than the vast dimensions back home at Citi Field, the Mets hit four home runs in a game for the first time since May 3, 2013, in Atlanta, according to STATS. They began the day ranked 29th in the majors with 22 homers. "Part of it is being here," Mets manager Terry Collins explained, referring to both the fences and the environment. "This atmosphere creates intensity and creates focus, and guys are excited about being here." BrettGardner hit an early grand slam off ex-Yankee BartoloColon, and DerekJeter had three hits for the first time since Sept. 30, 2012, in Toronto. CarlosBeltran left in the seventh with a hyperextended right elbow and was scheduled to have an MRI. Beltran, the designated hitter, got hurt working in the indoor cage between at-bats. "Im concerned because it was enough to take himself out of the game," manager JoeGirardi said. Bumped into a struggling bullpen before the game, Mejia (4-0) entered in the seventh for his first relief appearance since September 2012. He struck out AlfonsoSoriano on three pitches and worked a scoreless eighth. Mejia sure seemed to relish the role -- even though he made it clear he wanted to stay in the rotation because he was concerned about injuring his surgically repaired arm again. Ryne Sandberg Jersey. The right-hander excitedly pumped his fist after a double play and then backed his way off the mound following a called third strike that ended the eighth. "It feels pretty good. Ive got to enjoy it," a smiling Mejia said. "If they need me in the bullpen Ive got to be there because I never play for myself." KyleFarnsworth pitched a shaky ninth for his third save -- aided by MarkTeixeiras nagging groin injury. Teixeira laced a pinch-hit single to right that went to the wall and sent Jeter to third base. A gimpy Teixeira had to stop at first, though, and was pulled for a pinch-runner. That kept the double play in order and Duda turned a rare 3-5-3 gem with third baseman DavidWright, who was shifted near shortstop against McCann. Pinch-hitter Eric Campbell, enjoying his third day in the majors, got the Mets started in the eighth by hustling for a double after his sharp grounder caromed off third baseman Yangervis Solarte and into left field. Duda blooped a single to centre off MattThornton (0-1), and Campbell barely beat JacobyEllsburys accurate throw with a nifty slide at the plate. ChrisYoung greeted PrestonClaiborne with a two-run shot to left, giving the Mets a 9-7 lead. "We really struggled today," Girardi said. "We didnt make pitches." The Yankees snapped a 4-all tie with three runs in the sixth off Colon, who gave up 11 hits for the second time this season. Young Jr. trimmed it to 7-6 with a two-run homer off AlfredoAceves, who relieved starter HirokiKuroda in the seventh. In the first inning, Granderson turned and greeted fans in right field. The slugger signed a $60 million, four-year contract with the Mets in December after spending four seasons with the Yankees. He caused a bit of a stir in the off-season by saying, "A lot of the people Ive met in New York have always said that true New Yorkers are Mets fans." "The Mets fans came out in droves," Granderson said. NOTES: Mets President Saul Katz denied a report by The New York Times that he has expressed an interest in selling his share of the team. "I have no intention of selling my share of the Mets nor have I ever had any intention of selling my share," Katz said in a statement released by the club. ... The Mets plan to promote touted pitching prospect Rafael Montero from Triple-A Las Vegas to start Wednesday night at home against the Yankees in place of Mejia. It will be Monteros major league debut. ... Sorianos second-inning single made him the seventh player to get 1,000 hits in the American League and National League. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

ATLANTA -- FreddieFreeman heard fans calling his name and, with dark clouds moving in, he knew the grounds crew had just removed the cover from the infield tarp. Clinton McDonald Youth Red Jersey Tampa Bay Buccaneers Elite Nike NFL Home . What better time for a game-winning hit? Freemans single to the centre-field wall scored JasonHeyward from second base with two outs in the 10th inning on Sunday, lifting the Atlanta Braves to a 1-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. "You live for moments like that when you want to be a big league player," Freeman said. "You hear the crowd chanting your name and you want to come through. So it was a pretty cool moment." Freemans big hit saved the game from an almost certain wait through bad weather. "I was like, Yes, we dont have to go to any more innings and we wont have a rain delay," Freeman said. "We were all thinking about it." Sure enough, minutes after the postgame celebration ended on the field, a thunderstorm brought lightning and heavy rain to Turner Field. Cincinnatis JohnnyCueto and Atlantas JulioTeheran were spectacular. Each allowed only three hits in eight scoreless innings before giving way to relievers. "It was a great game," Cueto said through a translator. "We both competed. Things went good for us, him and me." Cueto struck out 11. He has allowed only one run in his last three starts, leaving him with a 1.15 ERA. Teheran also has given up just one run in his last three starts. His 1.47 ERA has helped the Braves starters lead the majors with their 1.57 mark. "He just keeps getting better and better," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. With two outs in the 10th, Heyward hit a single up the middle off J.J.Hoover (1-3). B.J.Upton followed with a grounder that bounced off Hoovers glove toward shortstop for an infield hit. "I thought I had it and it kind of hit a second gear and just tipped out of my glove," Hoover said. Left-hander MannyParra was summoned to face Freeman, who hit a second-pitch fastball for a drive that bounced on the warning track beyond centre fielder BillyHamiltons reach. Braves players swarmed Freeman at second base following Atlantas first three-game sweep of the Reds since 2008. Freeman tried to duck from the swarm of congratulatory slaps and swats. Reds manager BryanPrice and pitcher HomerBailey were ejected in the first inning after a replay ruling went against them. Price asked for a replay after first-base umpire Greg Gibson called Upton safe on a pickoff throw from JohnnyCueto. The replays shown on the video board indicated first baseman JoeyVotto may have applied the tag before Upton reached the bag. Price came back out of the dugout after the ruling that the call stands, meaning there was not "clear and convincing" evidence to overturn it. Price was ejected by crew chief Bill Miller, the second-base umpire. Miller also tossed Bailey, who argued from the Reds dugout. "In the end, you have the biggest Jumbotron in the country out there in centre field that would strongly suggest that the runner was out on the pickoff," Price said. "And then to say that hes not seems to contradict what everyone in the ballpark thought was an out. I didnt get it. It didnt make any sense to me." MOSCOW - Russian Cup winner FC Rostov has been excluded from next seasons Europa League for financial problems and Spartak Moscow will take its place, the Russian Football Union says. www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net . Rostov qualified for Europe for the first time since 2000 with a surprise cup triumph. The football union blocked the club from taking its European place because it said it had breached domestic licensing rules. Nine-time Russian champion Spartak avoids missing out on European action for what would have been only the fourth time in the last 20 years. The football union said Rostov had already appealed the verdict and lost. The breach reportedly relates to unpaid wages from last year, since resolved. nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net . The Kings have gone 6-0-3 over their last nine games despite having been held to three goals or fewer in eight of 10 contests this month. Los Angeles has failed to score more than two goals six times in that span. nflcheapjerseywholesalechina . The All-Star point guard, sidelined for the past six months with a knee injury, was set to return to the Oklahoma City Thunder lineup for Sunday nights home game against the Phoenix Suns, weeks earlier than expected.(SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames aim to bounce back from their first regulation home loss of the campaign on Friday night when they host a Detroit Red Wings club that they swept in three meetings a season ago. The Flames have split the first two of a three-game homestand, besting the Washington Capitals last Saturday before falling by a 4-2 score to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday. MattStajan and DavidJones had goals and KarriRamo stopped 18-of-21 shots, but Leafs netminder JonathanBernier came up with 41 saves. Calgary has lost three of four and five of its last seven overall, falling to 3-1-1 at home on the season. "I felt that we had a good game. We are not very pleased with the result but I dont know what we could have done more. Offensively we generated a lot. Our forechecking was good. Our puck decisions in the offensive zone were very good but Bernier basically stole the game away from us," said Calgary coach Bob Hartley. Ramo was making his third straight start and former Red Wings netminder JoeyMacDonald is expected to face his old club tonight. MacDonald spent two seasons in Detroit before getting claimed off waivers by Calgary on Feb. 11. The 33-year-old has faced the Red Wings just once prior, notching a 42-save shutout on March 27, 2009 while with tthe New York Islanders. http://www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net/Nike-nfl-jerseys_New-england-patriots-jersey.html. The Flames outscored the Red Wings 12-5 in winning all three meetings last season, winning twice at home. Detroit has lost three of its past four in Calgary, but is coming off a 2-1 win over Vancouver on Wednesday that began a four-game road trip. The Red Wings are 4-2-0 as the guest this season. DanielAlfredsson scored in a second straight game and TomasTatar notched his first goal of the season for the Red Wings, who snapped a four-game slide (0-2-2). JimmyHoward made 19 saves. "Ive got to give the guys a lot of credit tonight," Howard said. "They did a great job in front of me." PatrickEaves made his season debut after missing the first 12 games due to a sprained knee and ankle injury, while JohanFranzen missed Wednesdays contest with an undisclosed injury. Franzen is likely to return tonight and has logged just two goals and three assists in 12 games. Howard is 7-5-0 with a 2.66 GAA in 12 career meetings with the Flames, while backup JonasGustavsson is 0-4-0 with a 4.61 GAA in five encounters. Detroit is scheduled to visit Edmonton on Saturday and Gustavsson could get the start in that game given his past history versus Calgary. He is 3-0-0 with a 2.13 GAA in four games (3 starts) overall this season. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

DORTMUND, Germany -- Borussia Dortmund is in the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the second consecutive season -- although it looks far less intimidating than the team that reached the final last year. Cheap Jerseys . Crippled by a series of injuries to key players and struggling at home this season, Dortmund was far from convincing in a 2-1 defeat to Zenit on Wednesday. However, the 4-2 victory in the first leg in St. Petersburg was enough for Juergen Klopps side to win 5-4 on aggregate and seal its place in Fridays draw. Hulk scored in the 16th for Zenit and captain Sebastian Kehl equalized for Dortmund in the 38th. Substitute Jose Rondon scored with a diving header in the 73rd to seal Zenits win on the night, though it was an empty victory. Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller turned away a late shot by Igor Smolnikov to prevent an even bigger defeat. In the nights other match, Manchester United advanced with a 3-0 win over Olympiakos, courtesy of a hat trick by Robin van Persie and a 3-2 victory on aggregate. "We surely didnt play a great game but we are in the quarterfinals," Kehl said. "That goal by Kehl allowed us to calm down," said Klopp, who acknowledged the quality of the Russian side. "They can really play and they gave us some problems." Dortmund will be without striker Robert Lewandowski for the first leg of the quarterfinals after he picked up his third yellow card of the competition for handling the ball. "I thought I had been pushed from behind and thats why handled the ball," Lewandowski said. "The main thing is that we went through." "The yellow card was laughable," Klopp said. With its comfortable lead from the first leg, Dortmund allowed Zenit to get into the match quickly, through a spectacular solo effort by Hulk. The Brazil striker shook off Kehl and cut inside past two defenders to blast a left-foot shot that swerved away from goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller on its way into the net. Zenit threatened a couple more times before Kehl got the equalizer. Marcel Schmelzer broke down the left flank and swung in a high cross. Kehl raced into the area and rose above the defence to send in a header that keeper Vyacheslav Malafeev got both hands to -- but could only push into the net. It was the captains first Champions League goal in 30 matches. "They have some good players up front but we didnt allow them too many chances," Kehl said. Early in the second half, Hulk unleashed a fierce free kick from about 30 metres (yards) that sailed high. Rondon scored Zenits second following a cross by Domenico Criscito from just outside the penalty area on the left -- evading defender Mats Hummels to head home from close range. Zenit, coached by Sergei Semak on an interim basis until Andre Villas-Boas takes over when the team returns home, kept up the pressure and Igor Smolnikov sent a low shot that Weidenfeller barely managed to turn away in the 88th. The last time Dortmund made it to the last eight in two straight seasons was 16 years ago. It won the title in 1997 and then reached the semifinals. Cheap Jerseys from china . -- Amid stories about JeremyLin and the upcoming all-star game, the Detroit Pistons have quietly become one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Wholesale Jerseys . Entering the day in second place behind overnight leader Vincenzo Nibali, the 41-year-old Horner pulled away from the Giro dItalia champion over the final meters of the uphill ascent to turn a three-second deficit into a three-second lead with just two days to go.With the 2014 CFL Draft set to take placeTuesday in Toronto, CFL on TSN analyst Duane Forde breaks down the top prospects. Today, he looks at running backs and linebackers. RUNNING BACKS 1) Anthony Coombs (RB, Manitoba) You Should Know: His coming out party was a 14-carry, 147-yard game against the United States Under-19 National Team as a member of the World Team in the 2012 International Bowl. The Good: He has averaged at least seven yards per carry in each of his four CIS seasons and that average improved every year, leaving him with a career average of 7.5 yards/carry.The Bad: Durability may be a concern, as he has missed time with minor injuries each of the last three seasons. 2) Pascal Lochard (RB, Laval) The Good: This versatile 60, 215 lbs. back rushed for 184 yards three yards shy of his career high en route to earning MVP honours in the 2013 Vanier Cup. The Bad: Its not a knock on his ability or potential but, with the very crowded Laval backfield, he has rarely played more than half of the offensive snaps in a game. 3) Alexandre Dupuis (FB, Montreal) The Good: He battled back from surgeries on both knees in 2012 to become an RSEQ All-Star last season. The Bad: No one will question his toughness or work ethic but he might be a little limited athletically. 4) Robert Farquharson (RB, Guelph) The Good: Over the last two CIS seasons, his average of 112.9 rushing yards per game ranks first among Class of 2014 running backs, just ahead of Coombs (112.7).The Bad: A hamstring injury suffered during training camp limited him to only four regular season games in 2013. 5) Aaron Milton (RB, Toronto) The Good: He plays faster than he tests, and, considering that his 63, 215 lbs. frame has room to carry more weight, he could eventually contribute as a fullback. The Bad: Hes coming off a shoulder injury that has left him a little behind in terms of upper body strength. Other Contenders: Guillaume Bourassa (Laval) career high 66 carries, 402 rushing yards in 2013; 4.71 40-yard dash at CFL Combine was 2nd fastest among RBs behind Coombs Jordan Botel (Mount Allsion) 2013 AUS nominee for Hec Crighton Trophy; has averaged 102.3 rushing yards/game over the last two seasons; played FB for CJFLs Vancouver Island Raiders in 2008-09, blocking for current B.C. Zsoldos (Waterloo / London Beefeaters) LINEBACKERS 1) Casey Chin (Simon Fraser) You Should Know: He was a four-year starter and three-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Star during his career with the Clan. The Good: He increased his tackle totals significantly each season, capping his career with an average of nearly 12 per game as a senior. The Bad: Listed at 510, hes not physically imposing. 2) Max Caron (Concordia) The Good: He won the Presidents Trophy as the Top Defensive Player in CIS football as a sophomore and possesses a very high football IQ.The Bad: His physical upside may be limited, as hell turn 25 this summer. 3) Jesse Briggs (McGill) The Good: Ranked among the top LBs in all testing categories at the CFL Combine, with his 4.57 40 being the key to boosting his stock. The Bad: Hes not seen as a particularly physical player, and his on-field productivity hasnt necessarily matched his athletic ability. 4) Beau Landry (Westtern) The Good: He offers versatility, having been named a First Team All-Canadian as a defensive halfback in 2011 and again as a linebacker in 2013. Wholesale nfl Jerseys. The Bad: At the next level, he may find himself as a tweener, not possessing the speed of top defensive backs or the size of most linebackers. 5) Travis Bent (Concordia) The Good: Physical and aggressive, he had his best season in 2012, leading the Stingers with 61.5 tackles. The Bad: As highly touted as his teammate Caron when they entered the Stingers program in 2010, he hasnt yet reached that potential. Other Contenders: Christopher Johnson (Toronto) 510, 220 lbs.; compares well physically and athletically to drafts top LBs Sam Sabourin was among the drafts elite prospects until he chose to retire due to concussion concerns; three-time All-Canadian could still be a late selection Thomas Miles (Manitoba) second on Bisons with 39 tackles in 2013; also long snaps Also On The Radar (alphabetically): Aram Eisho (McMaster); Cody Kezama (Regina); Matt Lalande (Saint Marys); Pier-Yves Lavergne (Montreal); Eric Noivo (Concordia); Stephen Osman (McGill); Omar Smith-Jackson (Bishops); Richard Zacharias (Saskatchewan) Analysis: Ill discuss these two position groups together, as there are a number of similarities in terms of how theyre evaluated for the draft. While Jon Cornish, Andrew Harris, Shea Emry, and Henoc Muamba are household names for CFL fans, the reality is that the vast majority of the leagues non-import running backs and linebackers are depth guys, who will play far more snaps on special teams every week than they will on offence or defence. Since its difficult for teams to justify using first round picks for players who arent projected to play regularly on offence or defence, you generally dont see a lot of RBs and LBs selected in Round 1. In fact, in the last ten years, there has only been one draft in which the first round included more than one player from either of these two groups (Keep in mind that while Mike Edem, Shomari Williams, and Justin Phillips may have been listed as LBs, they were all drafted to play another position). In 2005, Akron LB Cam Yeow went second overall, McMaster RB Jesse Lumsden was chosen sixth, and Kentucky fullback Alexis Bwenge was the eighth overall selection. A significant factor leading to that anomaly was that the Class of 2005 was strong at neither offensive line nor receiver, the usual marquee Canadian positions. Coincidentally, a similar dynamic exists in this years draft class, which should open the door for the top running back and linebacker prospects to be among the first nine picks. At running back, the obvious choice is Coombs. In his eight Canada West games last season, the Winnipeg native rushed for 100+ yards four times and had 100+ receiving yards three times. The CFL Combine revealed both his willingness to pass block and his ability to compete as a receiver. All things considered, he is the best non-lineman in this draft class. On my board, Chin also ranks among the top three non-linemen available and projects as a potential future starter. Last season, the Simon Fraser product racked up 119 tackles in 10 games (11.9/game) to lead the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Four years ago, another 510 linebacker finished second in the GNAC with 96 tackles in 11 games (8.7/game). That player was current B.C. Lions star Adam Bighill, whose 196 tackles over the last two CFL seasons equals Montreals Chip Cox for the most in the league during that span. Granted, the number of tackles made can be a misleading statistic but, given his range and productivity, Chin should be given every opportunity to contribute on defence as well as special teams. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

The Edmonton Oilers agreed to terms with centre AntonLander on a one-year contract extension on Monday. Lucas Duda Mets Jersey . The 23-year-old Lander split the season between the Oilers and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons. He appeared in 27 games with the Oilers, posting one assist and four penalty minutes. Last season, he captained the Oklahoma City Barons, recording 52 points, 30 penalty minutes and a plus seven rating in 53 games. His 52 points ranked second on the team, as well as ranking second in assists and power play goals. He also tallied two points for the Barons in three playoff games. The native of Sweden has registered eight points and 18 penalty minutes in 94 career NHL games. Lander was selected by Edmonton in the second round, 40th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft. The Hall also announced on Monday that Canadian national team coach Jim Ridley will be inducted posthumously. "Tim Wallach and Dave Van Horne are two names that have become synonymous with the Montreal Expos, and both have had a significant impact on baseball in this country, and Murray Cook and Jim Ridley helped blaze a trail for Canadians in the professional scouting and executive ranks," said Scott Crawford, the halls director of operations said in a statement. "Were proud and excited to celebrate their careers in St. Marys this June." Wallach is the Expos all-time leader in several statistical categories, including games played (1,767), hits (1,694), doubles (360), RBI (905) and total bases (2,728). Nicknamed "Eli" by his teammates, Wallach also ranks third all-time amongst Expos in runs (737) and fourth in home runs (204). Chosen 10th overall by the Expos in the 1979 amateur draft, Wallach began his big league career as an outfielder before evolving into the best third baseman in the franchises history. In 13 seasons with the Expos from 1980 to 1992, Wallach was selected to five all-star games (1984, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1990), won three Gold Gloves (1985, 1988, 1990) and captured two Silver Slugger Awards (1985, 1987). He was also named to the Topps All-Star Rookie team in 1981, topped the National League in doubles in 1987 and 1989 and finished fourth in National League MVP voting in 1987. Van Horne began his Montreal career behind the mike with the Expos first game on April 8, 1969 until the end of the 2000 season. He became known for his trademark catch-phrases like "Up, up and away!" when the Expos hit a home run. In his 32 seasons with the Expos, he broadcast the down-to-the-wire pennant races in 1979 and 1980, the teams only post-season run in 1981 and Dennis Martinezs perfect game on July 28, 1991 a performance that inspired, perhaps, his most famous call, "El Presidente, El Perfecto!" In 2001, Van Horne accepted the radio play-by-play position with the Florida Marlins and he would later broadcast the clubs World Series-winning 2003 campaign. In 1996, Van Horne received the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fames Jack Graney Award for broadcasting excellence and 15 years later, he was the recipient of the National Baseball Hall of Fames equivalent honour, the Ford C. Frick Award. Now entering his 46th year of broadcasting major league games, Van Horne is set to become the second Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame inductee (Tom Cheek is the other) to have won both the Jack Graney and Ford C. Frick Awards. Born in Sackville, N.B. in 1940, Murray Cook has spent more than half a century in professional baseball. After graduating from Ohio University with a masters degree in history in 1962, he was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played shortstop and third base in the lower levels of their system for parts of four years, before hanging up his spikes to become the general manager of their Class-A affiliate in Gastonia in 1966. The Pirates promoted him too their big league front office in 1967. Dwight Gooden Mets Jersey. He was named the teams assistant farm director the following year and soon rose through the ranks to become the clubs assistant director of minor league operations in 1972 and director of scouting in 1977. After 21 years in the Pirates organization, Cook was hired to be the New York Yankees scouting director in January 1983. Just over six months later, he was named the clubs general manager, becoming just the second Canadian to be a big league GM (Huntsville, Ont., native George Selkirk was the Washington Senators GM from 1964 to 1969). Cook remains just one of five Canadians to serve as a GM at the major league level. The others are Selkirk, Gord Ash (Toronto Blue Jays, 1995 to 2001), Doug Melvin (Texas Rangers, 1994 to 2001; Milwaukee Brewers, 2003 to present) and Alex Anthopoulos (Toronto Blue Jays, 2009 to present). In 1984, Cook was reassigned to the position of vice-president and director of scouting with the Yankees, before he replaced John McHale as general manager of the Expos on September 5 of that year. Drafting RandyJohnson, signing free agent Dennis Martinez and rebuilding the Expos into a surprising contender were among the highlights of his close to three years in Montreal. Following his tenure with the Expos, he served as the general manager of the Cincinnati Reds in 1988 and 1989. Since 1990, he has worked in scouting capacities for the Minnesota Twins, Miami Marlins, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. In 2010, he was named East Scout of the Year for his contributions to the scouting field. He is currently the Tigers East Coast regional cross checker. After two seasons as an outfielder in the Milwaukee Braves organization in 1964 and 1965, Toronto native Jim Ridley returned to Canada where he would have a significant impact on baseball in his home country for the next four decades. While continuing his playing career in the Intercounty Baseball League where he was named league MVP with Stratford Hillers in 1974 Ridley launched his storied coaching and scouting career. He began as a part-time scout with the Detroit Tigers in 1973, before joining the Toronto Blue Jays in 1976 to run the clubs first tryout camp in Utica, N.Y. In his 26 years as a scout with the Blue Jays, Ridley was the driving force behind the clubs decisions to sign Canadians like Paul Spoljaric, Rob Butler and David Corrente. He also served as a coach with the Blue Jays rookie-level affiliate in Medicine Hat from 1978 to 1980. A highly respected coach at the local level, Ridley also coached the Canadian junior national team from 1983 to 1988, leading the squad to bronze medals at the World Junior Baseball Championship in 1983 and 1987. In 1988, he coached the Canadian Olympic baseball team and three years later, he was tabbed to manage Canadas squad at the Pan Am Games. Starting in 2002, Ridley served as a scout with the Minnesota Twins. ReneTosoni and Jon Waltenbury are among the Canadians he signed and brought into the Twins organization. Ridley passed away from cancer on November 28, 2008. Each year, the Canadian Baseball Network presents the Jim Ridley Award to the countrys top scout in his memory. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

LONDON -- Manchester United manager David Moyes has been charged with misconduct by the English Football Association for his comments about match officials after a loss to Sunderland in the League Cup. Leonard Johnson Elite Red Home Jersey Nike Tampa Bay Buccaneers Womens NFL . Following the 2-1 defeat in the first leg of the semifinals on Tuesday, Moyes criticized referee Andre Marriner and his assistants for their "terrible" decisions in the build-up of Ryan Giggs own goal and a penalty winner by Fabio Borini. Moyes added his team was "playing referees as well as the opposition." The Scot, who is under pressure after the Red Devils started 2014 by losing three games in a row for the first time since the 2000-01 season, has until Jan. 15 to respond to the charge. It is unlikely that Moyes will be handed a suspension for his comments as Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was fined 8,000 pounds ($13,000) and received a warning after admitting to a similar charge. #25 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mike James Orange Youth Jersey Elite Alternate Nike NFL . While Fulhams statement failed to mention Meulensteens fate, the Dutchman later told BBC Radio 5 that he had been relieved of his duties at Fulham.(SportsNetwork.com) - Two pitchers will take the hill on Saturday in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series. One has been nearly unhittable the last two times hes pitched. And the other is ClaytonKershaw. Runs figure to be at a premium tonight, as MichaelWacha and the St. Louis Cardinals try to go up two games to none on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the best-of-seven series at Busch Stadium. Wacha has been the early story of this postseason, as he nearly no-hit the Pittsburgh Pirates in a season-saving win for the Cardinals in Game 4 of the NLDS. The 22-year-old righty took a no-hitter into the eighth in a stellar 7 1/3-inning, nine-strikeout performance to help the Cards force a fifth and deciding game. "Why hes been able to be successful so far is that he has trusted himself," Cards manager MikeMatheny said of Wacha. "Hes trusted the game plan thats put in front of him. Hes trusted his catcher. Hes trusted his stuff. Then it comes down to taking the distractions and minimizing them." Of course, Wacha came within an out of no-hitting the Washington Nationals in his final start in the regular season. "Im definitely looking forward to pitching in front of this home crowd. Its going to be a lot of fun," said Wacha, who has never faced the Dodgers. "Just watching them on TV, its a great ballclub and definitely a dangerous lineup. Im just going to have to go out there and make pitches." Kershaw, meanwhile, is likely headed toward another NL Cy Young Award after a remarkable regular season that saw him go 16-9 and lead the major leagues with a minuscule 1.83 ERA and an NL-best 232 strikeouts. It was the fourth consecutive season that Kershaw tallied 200 or more strikeouts. He also allowed a .195 batting average -- .202 to right-handed hitters and .165 to left-handed hitters. The postseason spotlight hasnt fazed him one bit, as Kershaw went 1-0 against the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS and pitched to a 0.69 ERA in two starts, the last one, of course, came on three days rest and secured the Dodgers series win. "You guys make a big deal about three days rest," he told a room full of reporters before the NLCS opener. "I never made a big deal out of it. (Dodgers manager Don Mattingly) never made a big deal out of it. ... I mean, no offense, but Im just kind of tired of it." Over his last 11 starts, including his two postseason starts, Kershaw is 6-2 with a remarkable 1.46 ERA. Kershaw, thoough, lost both of his starts to the Cardinals this season and pitched to a 4. Clinton McDonald Youth Red Jersey Tampa Bay Buccaneers Elite Nike NFL Home. 15 ERA in doing so. Kershaw will need to be aware of St. Louis CarlosBeltran, who drove in all three runs in the Cardinals thrilling 3-2 win in 13 innings in Game 1. Of the five previous times the Cards won the first game of the NLCS (home or away), they advanced to the World Series three times. "We have had our fair share of extra-inning games, but none more special than that one," second baseman MattCarpenter said. "Winning Game 1 is huge, especially in that fashion. Whether they want to admit it or not, winning that game in that kind of scenario, thats a tough way to lose a game." Beltran had tied the game with a two-run double in the third inning, but hours later stroked a one-out hit toward the right field corner off Dodgers closer KenleyJansen to score DanielDescalso from second base with the winning run. "It was a good team win," shortstop PeteKozma said, before slightly altering his wording. "A good team Carlos win today." They werent the only heroics for Beltran, who also gunned a runner down at home for an inning-ending double play in the 10th. Perhaps the best postseason hitter of this generation, Beltran now has four game-winning postseason RBI in his career. He also has nine RBI in these playoffs. "Hes basically built up a resume as one of the greatest postseason hitters of all time," Dodgers catcher A.J.Ellis said of Beltran. "We knew that coming in. When you compound that by giving him two 3-1 counts to hit in, he knows what to do." JuanUribe, who hit the homer Monday that got the NL West-champion Dodgers into the NLCS, had a two-run single in the third inning for LAs only runs in Game 1. LanceLynn (1-0) threw two innings to get the win and ChrisWithrow (0-1) gave up a pinch-hit single to Descalso and walked MattCarpenter in the 13th. "It feels great coming back to the ballpark and knowing youve got Clayton on the mound," Ellis said. "Were going to do everything we can to earn the split." The Dodgers were 4-3 against the Cardinals this season, including three wins in four games in St. Louis. Not having homefield advantage for this series may not matter, as Los Angeles was tied with Texas for the best road record in the majors in 2013, at 45-36. This series will shift to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Monday. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

DETROIT -- Helio Castroneves celebrated in his signature style, climbing a fence, in the same place where he did it for the first time many years ago. Eddie Murray Orioles Jersey . Castroneves crew joined him above the track in front of roaring fans and it was fitting because his behind-the-scenes teammates helped him have his way with the competition. "I did not expect that," he said after easily winning the second Detroit Grand Prix race of the weekend Sunday, finishing 1.6836 seconds ahead of Penske Racing teammate Will Power. "They deserved it. "That was great to see them there." It was here in Detroit where Castroneves raced to the first of his 29 victories in 2000 and scaled the safety fence. And, the 39-year-old Brazilian is still winning and climbing with more composure. "I was able to hold my emotions better," he said. "I guess Im getting older." Team owner and unofficial race promoter Roger Penske was not a part of the fence-climbing celebration, but he had to be one of the happiest guys on Belle Isle because Castroneves and Power finished first and second. "You dream about these weekends," Penske said. "To be as strong as we were and see both guys in the winners circle." Castroneves lead was so large that when he made his final pit stop on Lap 49 he still was ahead when he got back on the track. The competition got closer after cautions led to restarts with seven and three laps left, but Castroneves could not be caught in part because Power did not want to risk ruining his teammates path to victory by possibly hitting him. "Because of Roger, I definitely wasnt going to race him hard," Power said. Castroneves has 29 IndyCar victories, tying Rick Mears for 11th on the career. "Oh, really?" Castroneves asked. "Wow. What an honour." Castroneves finished 0.060 seconds behind Ryan Hunter-Reay last week in the Indianapolis 500 in his bid to join Mears as a four-time winner in open-wheel racings signature event. Power won Saturday and played a big part in a sloppy start Sunday. He was penalized for avoidable contact on the opening lap, failing to turn right and causing Josef Newgarden to hit him from behind to trigger a three-car crash. That led to the first of two cautions within the first ten laps after a false start briefly delayed the race beginning. Despite a drive-through penalty, Power was able to pull into contention later in the race with aggressive moves. No one, though, was faster than Castroneves. Hunter-Reay, meanwhile, had a poor ending to a rough weekend after the biggest win of his career. He started 21st in the 22-car field on Saturday and Sunday because of crashes. Hunter-Reay ended the first race by crashing on the final lap and the second one did not last as long due to an electrical problem knocking him out after 61 laps. "You name it, we had the problem this weekend," he said. "Im just glad to be getting out of here." Hunter-Reay left Detroit -- heading to New York for an appearance Monday night with David Letterman -- without the IndyCar points lead. He entered the weekend with a 40-point lead on Power and exits it in third, 27 points behind Power and eight more behind Castroneves. "Major hit," Hunter-Reay acknowledged. Honda had dominated the Detroit Grand Prix the previous two years -- in the shadow of Chevys world headquarters -- and had the fastest car last week at the Indy 500. The engine manufacture did not fare better than fifth on Sunday with James Hinchcliffe following Charlie Kimball and Scott Dixon. Pole-sitter Takuma Sato was spun twice, dropping him to 18th. BASSANO DEL GRAPPA, Italy -- Colombias Nairo Quintana showed off his climbing strength and increased his lead in the Giro dItalia with a victory Friday in the 19th stage, a mountain time trial. Elite Nike NFL White New York Giants Harry Carson Youth Road Jersey . Quintana, runner-up at last years Tour de France, clocked 1 hour, 5 minutes, 37 seconds over the 26.8-kilometre (16.7-mile) route from Bassano del Grappa to Cima Grappa. Italys Fabio Aru finished second, 17 seconds behind, and Colombias Rigoberto Uran was third, 1:26 behind. "I had a great feeling and I took full advantage of it," said Quintana, who rides for the Movistar team. "I was really well prepared." After his second stage win in this years race, Quintana moved 3:07 ahead of Uran in the overall standings. Aru moved ahead of Pierre Roland into third, 3:48 back. Victorias Ryder Hesjedal dropped to ninth overall after finishing 26th in Fridays stage. Svein Tuft of Langley, B.C., was 138th Friday and sat 155th overall. Giuseppe Martinelli, Arus team director with Astana, continued to discuss the controversial 16th stage, which was also won by Quintana amid questions whether the dangerous descent from the Stelvio pass was supposed to be neutralized or not. "I think that conditioned the race," Martinelli said. "Quintana probably would still have won but not with a three-minute advantage (on Aru)." The opening five kilometres (three miles) of the time trial were nearly flat but then the road tilted uphill dramatically, reaching a gradient of 14 per cent at one point. Many riders changed bikes after the flat section, going from a specialized time trial version to their regular road bikes for the climb. Quintana even changed his helmet. "It only cost me a few seconds," Quintana said. "I was really calm. We practiced it." Stage 20 on Saturday is the races last mountain leg, a 167-kilometre (104-mile) route that starts in Maniago and finishes with a climb up the demanding Monte Zoncolan. "I think I already did today what the fans wanted to see," Quintana said. "Tomorrow I hope me and my team can control the stage." The pain and disappointment of Friday nights season-ending loss to the Los Angeles Kings was still palpable Monday as players went through exit interviews at the teams suburban practice facility, but one by one they took positive looks back on their unexpected post-season. After all, it had been 20 years since the Rangers played with the Cup on the line. "Its a little early," star goalie HenrikLundqvist said. "I am proud of the team and what we did and how we overcame different challenges -- not only in the past couple of months but throughout the entire season. "We have a lot to be happy about, but right now youre still disappointed about not winning." Had they been able to score in overtime on Friday or in either of the first two games of the finals in Los Angeles -- which were both decided in overtime -- New York would have hosted Game 6 on Monday night. The series would have been 3-2, one way or the other, and Rangers fans would have been firmly behind their club as it moved closer to a championship. "The last two or three days have been even worse than today," forward CarlHagelin said. "Now its kind of faded off. Its enough crying now. You cant cry much more. "It couldve been a game tonight, but were going to have to live another day." The Rangers have reached the conference finals in two of the past three seasons, and now have taken it a step further. Only a few veterans in their room, such as BradRichards and MartinSt.Louis, had gotten to the finals before this run. The collective experience they now share as a group could bode well. "Its hard to swallow right now, but give it a couple of weeks," forward DerekStepan said. "I think well look back and well see how much fun we had as a group and be able to look at it and say, Hey, we played some really good hockey. "Weve got a good balance of guys. The organization did a good job of building this team, getting the young guys andd getting the old guys. New York Giants Eli Manning Mens Home Jersey Elite Nike NFL Royal Blue. Weve got a good blend." As is always the case at the end of the season, changes will be made before the team gets back together for training camp in about three months. One player who likely wont be there is Richards, who has become a prime candidate to have his contract bought out by the Rangers to give the club much needed salary cap relief. New York has one remaining amnesty buyout available, and it must be used by July 1. The cap room that would be saved by getting Richards contract off the books could go a long way to signing potential free agents the Rangers have and others who could come in from other teams. "Were going to work on putting a good team on the ice, but every year is different," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said. "Next years team is going to be different, and youve got to go through the same process. Its going to be a challenge to make the playoffs, and then you take it one series at a time." Richards took on a bigger leadership role after captain RyanCallahan was traded to Tampa Bay for St. Louis in March. His voiced carried in the room even as his play declined as the playoff run got deeper. Vigneault limited his ice time to fourth-line minutes in the final two games against Los Angeles. "If you look at Brads overall season he had a real good year," Vigneault said. "In the final series, I dont know if it was a combination of some other guys might have been playing a little bit better than he was, but we had some decisions to make in Game 4 and Game 5." No decision on Richards status had been made by Monday afternoon, and he didnt speak to reporters to discuss what might lie ahead for him, either. Vigneault excelled in his first season as coach, after he replaced the fiery John Tortorella, and he will also be looking to win that elusive championship. The Rangers havent hoisted the Cup since their last finals experience in 1994. Vigneault took the Vancouver Canucks to the final step, too, only to fall to Boston in 2011. "Each year you play, your drive gets bigger and bigger," Stepan said. "This group has been close, and certainly that drive is going to be there for next year." cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- PaulPierce drove his shoulder right into LeBronJames, a post-season foul in a preseason game. cheap nfl jerseys . A message to the NBA champions? "Its a message to the league," Pierce said. The Brooklyn Nets showed the defensive toughness Pierce said will be their identity, smothering the Miami Heat 86-62 on Thursday night after retiring coach JasonKidds number. BrookLopez scored 14 points for the Nets on a night that peaked with the pregame. Kidds No. 5 was lifted to the Barclays Center rafters during a ceremony a few minutes before the tip, honouring him for leading the franchise to its greatest NBA success. The game itself could have used the jolt Kidd provided when the Nets acquired him in 2001. Except for a few James highlights, it was typical exhibition play, with starters resting and subs misfiring for much of the night. But theres already a hint this could become a rivalry when the games do count, as Miami-Boston was before the Celtics traded Pierce and Garnett to Brooklyn. A day earlier, James noted that those two shouldnt have been so hard on RayAllen when he opted to leave the Celtics for the Heat, since Pierce and Garnett ended up leaving themselves -- though Allen was a free agent and the pair was traded. "Tell LeBron worry about Miami," Garnett said when asked about James comments. "He has nothing to do with Celtic business." James and ChrisBosh each finished with 16 points for the Heat, who shot 32 per cent and did next to nothing in the 20 minutes James wasnt on the floor. "Weve got so many guys out, were just trying to get better and not waste an opportunity to get better," James said. "I think we did that at phases. Obviously, we dont have all our guys playing, but when guys were in the game, they played, worked hard." The Nets believe their acquisition of Pierce and Garnett, along with a number of other moves, has given them a roster that can compete with the Heat in the Eastern Conference. All that could really be told from this game was that the Nets appear to have a better back end of their bench. Miami managed just 12 points in the second quarter, when it went mostly with reserves and fell behind 44-28. DwyaneWade sat out for the Heat and DeronWilliams is still sidelined by a sprained ankle for the Nets, but the exhibition at times had a playoff feel to it thanks to the rivalry among some of the veterans. James was dribbling quickly up the floor in the first quarter and Pierce simply threw his shoulder into James for a foul that stopped the fast break. Garnett played only 10 minutes. Kidd led the Nets to consecutive NBA Finals as a player and became the sixth member of the franchise to have his number retired. A few former teammates attended the ceremony, while taped messages from KenyonMartin, VinceCarter and RichardJefferson were shown during breaks in the game. Key reserves Allen and ChrisAndersen also sat out for the Heat, while the Nets remained without JasonTerry and AndreiKirilenko from their bench. The teams will meet again in Brooklyn on Nov. 1 in the Nets home opener. nfl jerseys china . INDIANAPOLIS -- LanceStephenson slumped his shoulders and dragged his feet to the bench with three minutes left in the game. Washington Redskins Charley Taylor Mens Home Jersey Elite Nike NFL Burgundy Red . Three points shy of a triple-double, Stephenson heard the crowd boo his removal and chant moments later for his return. Things are going so well for the Indiana Pacers that they can contemplate personal milestones and finally turn their attention to a difficult road trip awaiting them in early December. "I knew we would be a good team," Indiana coach Frank Vogel said. "They are driven and hungry. Were off to a good start." PaulGeorge scored 23 points and RoyHibbert added 13 and eight rebounds to easily lead surging Indiana past injury hampered Washington 93-73 on Friday night. The Pacers won their sixth straight and extended their best start in franchise history to 15-1. The Wizards (7-9) snapped a three-game winning streak and lost their 11th straight game in Indianapolis. They committed 18 turnovers, shot 40 per cent from the field and went 6-of-18 from 3-point range. Star point guard JohnWall struggled badly, rarely attacked the rim and finished with eight points on 4-of-14 shooting. MarcinGortat led Washington with 17 points and 10 rebounds. TrevorAriza scored 14. The Pacers shut out a transition attack that came in ranked second in the NBA. After averaging 18.6 points a game on the fast break, Washington had none against the defensive-minded Pacers. "When we did get in the open court we turned the ball over," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said. "They got back and jammed the lane. That was the opposite of how we wanted to play." Washington had won five of six before injuries finally caught up. The team announced shortly before the game that starting power forward Nene would sit due to a sore right Achilles tendon. Also missing were starting shooting guard BradleyBeal and prized rookie OttoPorter, the No. 3 pick in the draft. "That took a little bit out of us," Wittman said. "Down seven (43-36) at half, It might have been one of our worst halves. I could tell they just didnt have the vibe. We were drained." As usual, the Pacers stifled spirits and took control in the third quarter. They entered the day outscoring opponents by an average of 6.7 points in the third and followed that script once more by outscoring Washington 26-20 to carry a 69-56 lead to the fourth. The gap only widened from there. "We just come out focused," George said. "We really are dialed in. We are working on that dead spot in the second quarter. Hopefully we can shore that up on our road trip." Stephenson departed with seven points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. He made multiple flashy passes that drew oohs and aahs before Vogel replaced him with OrlandoJohnson. On Wednesday in Charlotte, Stephenson had 15 points and 10 rebounds. He had the first two triple-doubles of his career earlier this month. Vogel knew bigger things are ahead. "I love to see guys get triple-doubles. But you cant make moves that compromise the next game," Vogel said. The Pacers begin a five-game road trip against the Western Conference on Sunday at the Los Angeles Clippers. Four of the five opponents are above .500 and the slate ends with games against Oklahoma City and reigning conference champ San Antonio. Vogel had hushed talk of the trip to help the team focus. Now, Indiana is ready to test its league-best record against other top teams. "We must continue to play our game on the road trip," forward DavidWest said. "This will really tell us something and give us an idea of what we are made of. Theyre all good teams. Well have to play at our highest level." The Wizards, who trailed 28-14 after the opening quarter, made their only push in the second with George and Hibbert on the bench. They scored on 10 of their first 15 possessions and got as close as 38-34 when TrevorBooker hustled for an offensive rebound and made a layup. But Indiana allowed just two points over the final 4 1/2 minutes of the half to end the run. Hibbert scored 10 points in the third on 4-of-5 shooting after an 0-of-5 first half. Indiana shot 11-of-20 as a team in the third. NOTES: Pacers forward DannyGranger has yet to play this season due to lingering effects of a strained right calf. . The Hurricanes extended their home-ice dominance of their former Southeast Division rivals, beating them 5-1 on Friday night. RileyNash and AlexanderSemin scored 87 seconds apart in the first period. BrettBellemore, JiriTlusty and AndrejSekera also scored, and JeffSkinner had two assists to help the Hurricanes win their seventh in 10 games. "Its a little bit more fun when youre playing with the lead," Nash said. "In this league, especially, its tough to come from behind every night, so getting that lead is especially important." Carolina improved to 30-7-4 at PNC Arena against the Panthers, winning both meetings this season. Realignment sent the former division rivals in different directions, with the Hurricanes in the Metropolitan and Florida in the Atlantic. Carolina pulled even with fifth-place Washington with 61 points in its crowded division, while Florida remains firmly in seventh place in the Atlantic. "Its really disappointing to see where our expectations are, and my expectations and everybodys expectations have to be on the same page, and I think we have to raise them," Panthers coach Peter Horachek said. "We have to expect more from each other, and I expect more from them because its certainly not desperate hockey, and its certainly not where it needs to be." EricStaal set the Hurricanes career record for shots on goal, passing Hall of Famer RonFrancis late in the second period. Staal finished with four shots, giving him 2,542. AntonKhudobin stopped 34 shots in his 16th straight appearance for Carolina. NickBjugstad scored for Florida, which enters the Olympic break having lost five of six. "We put ourselves in this situation," captain EdJovanovski said. TimThomaas stopped just 10 of the 14 shots he faced. Washington Redskins Clinton Portis Mens Home Jersey Game Nike NFL Burgundy Red. He was pulled with 15:24 left in the second after Tlusty tapped in a rebound to make it 4-1. ScottClemmensen replaced him and stopped 16 shots. Ten Hurricanes appeared on the score sheet and Skinner was the only one with multiple points. "To be successful in the NHL, you cant rely on one line," Nash said. "You see the teams that had success in the past, win Stanley Cups, they have four lines that chip in and they have their big guns going like we do. Its been nice to see." Carolina pounced on the Panthers early in this one, with Nash and Semin striking in bang-bang fashion. Nash scored at 9:17 of the first when TuomoRuutu dug the puck out near the boards and slipped it toward the slot to Nash, who beat Thomas high. Semin then made it a two-goal game at 10:44 with a spinning wrist shot -- his third goal in two games this season against Thomas and the Panthers. "That was actually the game plan -- come out, just stay on them, get pucks behind them," Bellemore said. "Get shots to the net, keep getting chances and wear them out." After Bjugstad pulled Florida to 2-1 with a wrist shot that trickled past Khudobin, Bellemore restored Carolinas two-goal lead with a slap shot with 1:39 left in the first. "Once we got the lead, we kind of backed off and started to play a little more pond hockey," Hurricanes coach KirkMuller said. "Game got a little bit too open for us and it was an up-and-down kind of game, so we just had to tighten it up at times." NOTES: Staal, who assisted on Tlustys goal, has 36 points in 35 games. ...
