Next stop on Around the QB Horn: Hamilton, Ontario. Nick Novak Jersey . This is where youll find the Beast of the East, a Tiger-Cat team that went 8-2 against East Division opponents. Thats tops in the Division with two more wins than Toronto, four more than Montreal. Simply put, Hamilton is considered a major threat to be playing in Regina on November 24th. Offensively this team is led by 14-year veteran Henry (Smilin Hank) Burris. Hes a 38-year-old quarterback that plays like hes in his mid-20s. Burris can still make any throw on the field, often times making it look easy! He possesses the ability to make defenders miss and can gash a defense with his legs just as well as he can with his cannon-like right arm. Some folks talk about Henrys turnover woes, which do seem to come at the most inappropriate times, but what makes Burris so good is he can do things other quarterbacks cant and often times makes it look easy. So when he does make a mistake, it can leave you scratching your head and wondering what he was thinking. He was just being Henry, which is pretty damn amazing. Id much rather have a quarterback with his rare and unique skill set at the helm and try to real him in a bit than one without his abilities and ask him to do things hes not capable of. Put it this way, with Henry, you live and die by the sword, but at least you have one! He gives the Ticats a chance to win every time on the field. Much has been made about Dan LeFevours play this year in short yardage situations. When you digest the fact that you have a 38-year-old starting quarterback, you dont want to put him into the most violent scenario, ultimately the short yardage game. Kent Austin managed his quarterbacks and did it wisely by removing Henry from this abuse and inserted a younger and certainly talented rushing quarterback in his own right, in LeFevour. LeFevour is a second-year Ticat from Central Michigan who has scored seven touchdowns on 54 rushing attempts. Thats 54 less touches on Burris in a guaranteed contact and severe collision mode situation. LeFevour has been solid when given the opportunity to chuck it down field as he has completed40-62 passes for 394 yards, a 64.5 percent completion percentage. Id look for a few attempts when hes in short yardage scenarios Sunday, as that would be a tendency breaker... A couple of weeks back, we saw the emergence of Jeremiah Masoli, a dynamic young quarterback from Ole Miss. He was used in a wildcat formation against Montreal and was extremely effective. Masoli is a firecracker of a quarterback that is cut from the same cloth as many of the leagues running backs at 510 and 221 lbs. Coach Austin has spared his veteran gunslinger some obvious punishment in short yardage situations this season by employing the skill set of the younger LeFevour, and balanced an aggressive Montreal defence with the deployment of Masoli in the misdirection wildcat offence. But - and this is a big but - he took away valuable touches from one of the most electrifying running backs in the CFL this year, super-rookie CJ Gable. Austin continues to tinker and tweak his offense, keeping opposing defenses on their toes and often times, their heels. Austin is creative, effective and certainly not afraid of mixing it up from week to week. Lets see how the Mad Scientist Kent Austin attacks Montreals stout defence this Sunday. No doubt Burris will be slinging it all over the field making it look easy, LeFevour will be doing his thing in short yardage and maybe even Masoli will be deployed in the wildcat offence balancing up that aggressive Als defence. Should be a great game Sunday at the University of Guelphs Alumni Stadium!Branden Oliver Womens Jersey .Com Tour. SOCHI, Russia -- MartinSt. jerseys from china .Louis is going to get a chance to represent his country at the Winter Olympics after all. Hockey Canada announced today that the 38-year-old Tampa Bay forward will replace injured Lightning teammate StevenStamkos on Canadas mens hockey team at the Sochi Olympics. "I heard from Stammer that he wasnt going to go, so I knew it was a possibility," St. Louis told reporters in Tampa on Thursday. "So I guess I was prepared for it." St. Louis said he felt bad for Stamkos, who tried hard to come back from a broken right tibia he suffered in a Nov. 11 NHL game before being ruled out of Olympic competition by the Lightnings medical staff on Wednesday. "I think weve got to understand how hard hes tried and worked to put himself in the position hes in and give himself a chance," St. Louis said. "Obviously hes disappointed and Im disappointed for him. Stammers a true professional and hes done everything he can this past month to get back to the lightning first and hopefully to Team Canada." St. Louis was considered one of Canadas most surprising snubs when Canadas team was first announced, along with Philadelphia forward ClaudeGiroux and Pittsburgh forward JamesNeal. The Laval, Que., native led the league in points in the 2012-13 shortened season with 17 goals and 43 assists in 48 games. He is having another strong campaign in 2013-14 with 54 points (25 goals, 29 assists) in 56 games, good for 11th in the league. "I dont see this as Marty replacing me, I see it as Marty deserving a spot on this team and going over and hopefully bringing back a gold medal," said Stamkos in the same news conference. St. Louis has won two World Championship silver medals for Canada over his career. He played in the 2006 Turin Olympics, scoring two goals and an assist in Canadas disappointing seventh-place finish. St. Louis went on a 10-game point streak (eight goals, six assists) for the Lightning after first being left off Canadas team, announced on Jan. 7. He said the snub had nothing to do with his increased production, but his play of late might have given him the edge over Giroux and Neal. "I dont think its motivation. Ive been motivated the past four years ... the past 10 years. If youre not motivated, youre not even considered for these things. His speed could be a benefit to Canada, which has struggled in the Olympics when playing on the larger international ice surface. Canada won gold in Salt Lake City in 2002 and in Vancouver in 2010 playing in NHL-style arenas, but was left off the podium in Nagano, Japan in 1998 and Turin, Italy in 2006. "Obviously its a bigger ice surface. It think my quickness, my speed ... thats what Im going to rely on," St. Louis said. "Its a different game, but I think whatever game plan we come up with, its going to be well thought-out." Stamkos is confident that his teammate can fill any position on Team Canada. "Hes going to go over there and play whatever role possible. I personally think hes going to play a big role," said Stamkos. "The character that he has, the way hes played in big-game situations in the past. I mean, hes won individual awards, hes won the team championships, hes been in those situations. "Its not like its a young guy thats never been in these situations before filling in for someone. This is a guy who can step in and play any role asked."cheap jerseys . The 24-year-old piloted the No.06 Sprott Inc. In the wake of Canadas loss to Russia in the bronze medal game of the World Junior Hockey Championship, there have been plenty of comments made about the state of hockey player development in Canada. Bart Starr Womens Jersey . Brent Sutter, head coach of the Canadian team, believes that there is a skill deficit in Canada. "Theres too much focus on winning and losing at such a young age and not enough about the skill part of it and the skating part of it, because thats truly where it starts ... Id, personally, like to see more skill, more creativity, because we had to play against it here and we got beat by it some nights." In March of last year, Sutter said that he believes that the shift to year-round hockey is stunting the development of young players in Canada. "You just dont have as many players today that are as good athletes as they used to be. Too much today, especially in young players, is focused on hockey 12 months a year. They dont play soccer, they dont play baseball or tennis or the other things that people used to do." Sutters comments, while being made about the development of young hockey players, are equally applicable to the development of young soccer players in Canada. Year-round participation is trending younger and younger in all sports, including soccer, with players as young as eight now routinely chasing a ball for 12 months of the year. Parents and coaches justify this decision by pointing to research such as the "10,000 hour rule" - put forward in Malcolm Gladwells 2008 bestseller, "Outliers" - which claims that it takes 10,000 hours of "deep practice" to become an expert in a sporting discipline. The rule has come under increasing criticism, as many have pointed out that factors like genetics also play a significant role in determining an athletes career trajectory. That criticism hasnt stopped some parents, though, as they feel the only way for their child to reach the elite level of their sport is to play as much of it as they can - and the earlier the better. While practice will most definitely lead to improvement, if you are a believer in the 10,000 hour rule, it is important to understand that practicing ones sport can take many forms. Growing up, I played multiple organized sports that all had an impact on my athletic development, which in turn helped my development as a soccer player. From the ages of 7-12, I played soccer in the spring/summer and hockey in the fall/winter. I didnt know it at the time, but I was building my aerobic endurance by playing soccer and my anaerobic endurance by playing hockey. Although I stopped playing hockey when I was 13 to focus my attention on soccer, when I started high school, I played as many varsity sports as I could cram into my schedule. Volleyball helped me develop my jumping ability - something that would prove to be a major asset for me as a central defender in soccer. The athletic movements involved in spiking a volleyball are very similar to those needed to win a header in soccer; two or three steps, a two-foot takeoff, swinging the arms to gain elevation, arching the back to generate power - all of these movements take place when spiking a volleyball or heading a soccer ball. While I was having fun playing high school volleyball, I was training to become a better soccer player - without even knowing it. Basketball helped me to develop my ability to read dangerous situations. Whether playing man-to-man defence or marking zonally, basketball trains your ability to use your peripheral vision to track not only the ball, but more importantly, the opponent. I played as a forward in basketball, and learning to box out players for rebounds taught me how to be ball-side, goal-side in soccer - always in a better position than the opponent to win the ball. Badminton and squash helped me to improve on and compensate for one of my major athletic flaws - quickness. Both sports are heavily dependent on quick reactions and the first two steps. I was never quick - despite my best efforts over the years to improve that facet of my game - but I learned to compensate for that by reading the game well and anticipating what was going to happen next. Again, these skills were not solely developed on a soccer field, but rather, on badminton and squash courts when I was a teenager. Squash became such a good training tool for me that I continued to play the game right up until the day I retired as a professional footballer. The Academy Director at Ipswich Town, Bryan Klug, is an excellent squash player, and our squash games would often be more demanding than the work we did on the football pitch! So, if you are a parent of an aspiring athlete, consider letting them play other sports. Encourage them to go outside and play games with their friends. This is often where creativity and improvisation are learned, far from the eyes of demanding coaches and parents. Carl Bradford Jersey . Canadas strong showing throughout the World Cup season has qualified it for the maximum number of spots in every short-track speedskating event at the Sochi Games in February. "With the beginning to the season that Ive had, beginning with the Canadian trials in August, I have nothing to doubt in myself. Reggie White Womens Jersey . They won gold today in the womens bobsled competition at the Sochi Games. The Canadian duo finished with a four-run time of three minutes 50.Edmonton Oilers head coach DallasEakins told media on Wednesday that the team had no intentions of trading struggling forward NailYakupov. "All of whats out there is 100 per cent untrue," the first-year coach told reporters outside of the Tampa Bay Times Forum, where the Oilers - last in the Western Conference - play the Lightning on Thursday night. Eakins felt it necessary to personally inform the second-year player that rumours he might be hearing about his impending move from the Alberta capital hold no weight. NailYakupov is not being shopped," said Eakins. "Hes not going anywhere and I wanted him to hear that from me and look me in my eyes and let him know that, hey, were attached at the hip. Were going to make him a better player and its okay to struggle. In 14 games this seasson, Yakupov, the first-overall pick in the 2012 draft, has just one goal, after posting 17 in last years shortened season.Dave Robinson Jersey. In Tuesdays overtime win against the Florida Panthers, the Russian played a scant three minutes in the thrid period and overtime. Still, Eakins looks to past players who had high expections thrust upon them and didnt live up to them early on. Guys like JoeThornton, the kid, here, [Steven] Stamkos," said Eakins, whose Oilers are 4-10-2. "Those guys struggled early in their careers and boy, they turned out to be pretty good players. Hes 20-years old and were not just going to give up on a guy because hes going through a rough stretch." After Thursday nights game in Tampa Bay, the Oilers head to Philadelphia on Saturday to take on the equally flagging Flyers. cheap jerseys ' ' '

LOS ANGELES -- For three quarters, the Los Angeles Lakers tempted the sellout crowd at Staples Center into believing they would pull off one of the most improbable upsets of the NBA season. cheap jerseys from china . Then KevinDurant took over and the Lakers got sloppy with the ball, turning it into just another loss in a season full of them for coach Mike DAntonis undermanned squad. Durant scored 19 of his 43 points in the fourth quarter and the Oklahoma City Thunder sent the Lakers to a record-setting seventh straight home loss with a 107-103 victory on Thursday night. "The easy thing to do is look at it like we didnt have the proper focus. But Im not going to go there -- because when you play against an NBA team thats prideful like the Lakers, theyre going to have a good game," Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks said. The Thunder have a 1 1/2-game lead on Indiana for the NBAs best record. Their 43-12 mark equals the best start in the franchises 47-year history, set by the 1995-96 Seattle Supersonics. Oklahoma City is 20-7 without second-leading scorer RussellWestbrook, who hasnt played since getting a triple-double on Christmas Day at Madison Square Garden. Westbrook is recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. "This whole group, they are resilient," Durant said. "We persevered through everything and just stayed together. We had faith no matter what. We are looking forward to having Russell back and make it seem less of a transition for him." ChrisKaman and WesleyJohnson scored 19 points apiece for Los Angeles, and KendallMarshall added 14 points and 17 assists. The Lakers have lost 22 of their last 27 games and are tied with Sacramento for last place in the Western Conference. The Thunder, coming off a 98-95 win against Portland in which they held All-Stars LaMarcusAldridge and DamianLillard to a combined 1-for-17 from the field in the second half, trailed by as many as 15 points late in the third quarter while Durant missed his first eight attempts from 3-point range. But Durants first 3-pointer of the game cut the Lakers lead to 85-77 in the opening minute of the fourth, triggering a 15-2 run that enabled Oklahoma City to pull ahead 92-87 with 5:46 to play. "He just continued to play the game and do what he has done all season," teammate and former Laker DerekFisher said. "He is one of the best I have seen in terms if really just playing through anything and everything." Los Angeles committed seven of its 23 turnovers during the first 4:03 of the final period, and Fisher tied it at 87-all on a 3-pointer. Durant then stole the ball from Johnson and hit a driving layup that gave the Thunder their first lead, 89-87. The five-time All-Star capped the rally with a 3-pointer 32 seconds later. The Lakers came out of the gate like a team that desperately wanted to avoid surpassing the franchise record for consecutive home losses they shared with the 1992-93 squad. They led 54-45 at halftime. "I thought the effort was terrific," DAntoni said. "They battled the whole game. We ran into a little rough spot there in the start of the fourth. They got into us and we turned it over way too many times." SteveBlake made a three-point play after getting fouled by JeremyLamb on an off-balance 20-footer from the left elbow. That put the Lakers back in front 95-94 with 3:34 left, but SergeIbakas two free throws put the Thunder ahead to stay with 2:38 remaining and they closed with an 11-7 run as Fisher and Durant each made two free throws in the final 17 seconds. Oklahoma City has won eight of its last 12 meetings with the Lakers. DAntoni was down to eight healthy players, with point guard SteveNash sitting out because of a recurrence of root irritation in his back and hamstring. Los Angeles is still missing five of its top six scorers -- KobeBryant, PauGasol, JordanFarmar, NickYoung, JodieMeeks and XavierHenry. "Its been a crazy year, and there will still be some turbulence ahead," DAntoni said. "But I think during these next 29 games we will get honed in and try to get better. The thing I hope is that with all the effort, they get rewarded for it." NOTES: The Thunder havent allowed 20 or more points to an opposing player since eight games ago at Miami on Jan. 29, when they overcame 34 points by LeBronJames in a 112-95 win. ... ST. Jimmy Graham Womens Jersey . LOUIS -- The longest winning streak in Saint Louis history ended Thursday night with a surprising loss at home to Duquesne. That was hardly the most disappointing part of it as far as forward Dwayne Evans was concerned. "The streak didnt really mean much to us," Evans said. "Its a tough loss because theres a championship on the line, not just because it broke the streak." Micah Mason had 22 points and Jerry Jones added 19, leading Duquesne to a 71-64 victory. Saint Louis (25-3, 12-1 Atlantic 10) had won 19 straight since dropping a 70-65 decision on Dec. 1 to unbeaten Wichita State, now ranked No. 2 in the country. With a win, the Billikens could have clinched at least a tie for the Atlantic 10 regular-season title. But it was the Dukes who looked like title contenders Thursday. "They did a really nice job and we just didnt play well enough," Saint Louis coach Jim Crews said. "Weve played well and weve been fortunate. Tonight, we didnt play well enough. "We have no license that were going to win. One teams going to win and one teams going to lose. Whoever plays the best (wins). Thats how it is, and they played better than us." Mason, who entered leading the nation in 3-point shooting percentage (.554), hit four of five from behind the arc for Duquesne (12-15, 4-10), which beat a top-10 opponent on the road for the first time since defeating No. 6 Bradley 73-72 on March 5, 1962. Duquesne improved to 5-28 on the road against top 10 teams. The Dukes, who were 14-point underdogs, are 25-55 overall against teams ranked in the top 10. Although it looked like a mismatch on paper, Jones said he and the Dukes could feel this one coming. "Really, this team was ready to get beat and I just wanted to be a part of it and so did everybody else," he said. Evans had 10 points and 12 rebounds for Saint Louis. Mike McCall Jr. led the Billikens with 18 points, while Jordair Jett (13 points) and Rob Loe (12 points) also were in double digits. Saint Louis will try to rebound Saturday when it visits VCU. Crew said the team will not vary its approach after losing for the first time in nearly three months. "We do the same thing whether we win or lose," he said. "We just try to clean up what we did wrong. We address those things we did wrong, we keep working on our fundamentals and try to get better and move on with the next team. It doesnt make a difference win or lose. Our routine is pretty much the same." The Billikens appeared to be in good shape after Jetts layup with 13:44 remaining gave them a 42-35 lead. But the Dukes took command with an 18-2 run capped by a 3-pointer and then a layup by Jones that made it 53-44 with 7:41 left. Saint Louis fought back and had a chance to cut it to a one-possession game with under a minute remaining. Loe, however, missed a free throw and that led to Jones layup at the other end with 52 seconds left that made it 63-57. The Dukes played Saint Louis tough in their first meeting, losing 76-72 at home on Jan. 22. Duquesne was up for the challenge again Thursday and showed it early as Mason hit his first two shots from behind the arc to help the Dukes grab a 13-8 advantage. Mason was called for his second foul shortly thereafter and went to the bench, and the Billikens began to take advantage of his absence. Saint Louis went 1 for 7 from 3-point range in the first half, but Jake Barnetts 3 with 44 seconds left gave the Billikens a 29-25 halftime lead. Kenny Stills Womens Jersey .C. -- J.B.Holmes was a 3-foot putt away from winning the Wells Fargo Championship when he backed away to size up the situation. Khiry Robinson Womens Jersey .J. -- If people were looking for RichardSherman to get the weeklong hype for the Super Bowl started with another rant, the Seattle cornerback disappointed them.Wanted. CFL coaches. Several openings available. Send your resume to Scott Milanovich c/o Toronto Argonauts. Experience preferred. That may sound a bit extreme, but the Toronto Argonauts coaching staff has been decimated in the off-season. Former defensive coordinator Chris Jones is the new head coach in Edmonton, while former special teams coordinator Mike OShea was named as the Blue Bombers head coach in early December. The main difference between the two? Jones didnt leave on his own. On Tuesday, it was announced that Jones was bringing four members of last years Argo staff with him to Edmonton. Steve McAdoo was Torontos o-line coach for the past four seasons and becomes Edmontons new offensive coordinator. Ed Philions first year coaching in the CFL was last year with the Argos defensive line, the same group hell coach with the Eskies. Two young assistant coaches, Jason Shivers and Craig Davoren leave Ontario to become defensive backs coach and offensive assistant coach respectively. Scott Milanovich replaced Jones with former Winnipeg head coach Tim Burke, but now has a lot of vacancies on the staff. Was he surprised at all with the number of defections? "Not at all," Milanovich told TSN.ca. "I knew a week after the season who was going." The coach says that at some point after the season Eskies GM Ed Hervey called Jim Barker, his Toronto counterpart, and asked for permission. Its an expected part of life on the coaching carousel. "All of the contracts would have been up at the end of the month. I spoke with Chris (Jones) about it. I told him who was and wasnt availabble. Curtis Lofton Womens Jersey. There were no surprises." Perhaps the least shocking move is that McAdoo is heading west. He and Jones coached for three seasons together at Tennessee Tech, four years together with the Montreal Alouettes and the last two campaigns together in Toronto. When Jones left, Burke was hired almost immediately to replace him. It was an easy fit. They had coached together in Montreal, Burke had a ton of experience and had great success as a DC in the league. The OShea replacement hasnt been as easy. "I think (special teams coordinator) is a very difficult position to fill in the CFL" Milanovich explained to TSN.ca "It doesnt get the respect it deserves. I dont think you can go and get an NCAA D-1 or NFL coach and get a successful transition in one year. The return game, the halo, the number of snaps you take on special teams makes it more of a position that needs CFL or CIS experience." The search continues and Milanovich says the club has focsed on several candidates. "I have spoken to maybe four or five" continued the coach. "Ive dug around and asked about six or seven others and have asked other guys for their opinions." Historically the CIS has been snubbed as a breeding ground for CFL coaches, though Mike OShea named long-time Queens DC Pat Tracey as the Bombers special teams coach. Would Milanovich have a problem going that route? "Not for the right guy." Milanovich hopes to have that guy, and the rest of his new staff assembled in the next two to three weeks. He hopes to announce the entire staff at the same time. cheap jerseys ' ' '

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Nick Toon Womens Jersey . -- The Baltimore Orioles bolstered their bullpen with a late-inning arm Tuesday, acquiring reliever FranciscoRodriguez from the last-place Milwaukee Brewers for minor league infielder Nick Delmonico. "Were not playing for (anything) here. But going there now, every game is going to count. Ive got to be on top of my game now and help them out," Rodriguez said. Baltimore began the day 2 1/2 games behind first-place Boston in the AL East. Looking for their second straight playoff appearance, the third-place Orioles had a 1 1/2-game lead over Texas for the final AL wild-card spot. "We were trying to upgrade the pitching to give us a chance to make the run for the AL (East) title and the pennant. So we did what we had to do to help the team now, and we have enough players having good years at the plate," Orioles vice-president of baseball operations Dan Duquette said. "Nick Delmonico shows a lot of promise as a hitter, but the major league club needed a little more depth for our pitching staff to accomplish what we want to accomplish this year." Baltimore already has a proven closer in JimJohnson, who was leading the majors with 35 saves. Rodriguez, however, gives manager Buck Showalter another option late in the game. "Im still kind of taking it in," Showalter said after his teams 3-2 loss in Kansas City. "He gives us a lot of options." The Orioles cleared space for Rodriguez on the 40-man roster by transferring outfielder NolanReimold to the 60-day disabled list before their game against the Kansas City Royals. K-Rod was one of the games best relievers during his time with the Angels, saving a major league-record 62 games in 2008. He later spent three seasons as a closer with the Mets that are remembered mostly for an alleged assault of his girlfriends father at the ballpark. The 31-year-old Rodriguez has revitalized his career the past three years in Milwaukee, going 1-1 with 10 saves and a 1.09 ERA in 25 appearances this season. "I think hes the kind of guy that can be a difference-maker," Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said. "When you get into post-season or you get into pennant races in August and September, you always need more than one guy that can pitch in the ninth inning. Hes capable of doing that." Delmonico, a sixth-round draft pick in 2011, was hitting .244 in 60 games for Class-A Frederick. He hit .249 in 95 games for Class-A Delmarva last season. Melvin said the 21-year-old Delmonico will be assigned to Class-A Brevard County. Delmonicos father, Rod, was the baseball coach at Tennessee from 1990-2007. "Hes a player thats got good baseball instincts. Hes known for being a very good hitter. He comes from a baseball background," Melvin said. Brandin Cooks Womens Jersey . Moore-Towers, 21, of St. Catharines, Ont., and Moscovitch, 29, of Toronto teamed up in 2009 and became Canadian pairs champions in 2011. They were runners-up at the national championships the past two years. Mark Ingram Jersey ., native Andrew Wiggins wasnt around a year ago for one of the worst nights in Kansas basketball history.MIAMI -- It sometimes seems as though the offensively challenged San Diego Padres need to pitch a shutout to win. They got one Tuesday night. TimStauffer pitched six innings, and four relievers completed a six-hitter to beat the travel-weary Florida Marlins 4-0. The shutout was just the fifth this season for the Padres, even though they rank fifth in the majors in ERA. They won for only the second time in 10 games. "It has been the same since game one: Im going out there trying to put up zeros," Stauffer said. "Whether we score no runs or 10 runs, Im going to pitch aggressively and try to get us back in the dugout as quickly as possible." He had the rare luxury of a first-inning lead when RyanLudwick and OrlandoHudson hit consecutive two-out RBI doubles for the Padres, who rank last in the NL in runs. CameronMaybin had two hits, an RBI and a run scored against his former team. Stauffer (6-6) allowed four hits and two walks but stranded three runners in scoring position. "I settled down as the game went on," the right-hander said. "I fine-tuned a couple of things and got a little more aggressive. My last inning was probably my best inning." Stauffer won for the fourth time in his past five starts and lowered his ERA to 2.83. "He throws four pitches for strikes, and he does such a good job of using both sides of the plate," Padres catcher RobJohnson said. "Its tough on hitters when you dont know what hes going to be coming with." The Marlins, playing in their third city in three days, looked jet-lagged as they went 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position. "If you dont hit, you always look flat," manager Jack McKeon said. "Were not going to make excuses. Weve gotten into places late and got about 10 runs. We just got beat. Good pitching beat us." HeathBell entered the game with two on and two outs in the ninth and retired JohnBuck for his 27th save in 29 chances. EmilioBonifacio reached on a bunt single in the fifth to extend his careeer-best hitting streak to 18 games, the longest for the Marlins since KevinMillar hit in 18 consecutive games in 2002. Sam Mills Womens Jersey. . Floridas AnibalSanchez (6-3) allowed only two runs but needed 119 pitches to get through six innings. He went to a full count on eight batters. "We worked him hard," Padres manager Bud Black said. Sanchez is winless in seven starts, the longest stretch of his career. "I had to keep the score close and just waited for the team to give me some help," he said. "That didnt happen." The Marlins began a homestand after a one-game series Monday in New York to make up a rainout, and they lost for the second time in 11 games. They are 22-29 at home and 25-21 on the road. The Padres scored twice in the first after the first two batters were retired. Maybin reached on an infield single and stole second. Ludwick and Hudson followed with doubles. San Diego added an unearned run in the seventh when pitcher SteveCishek made an errant throw after bobbling a potential double-play grounder. Maybin singled home a run off BrianSanches in the ninth. Maybin had two of the four stolen bases by the Padres, who increased their season total to 99, most in the NL. Florida had two on with one out in the third and fifth innings, but Stauffer retired LoganMorrison to end both threats. "Their man threw strikes," Marlins centre-fielder MikeCameron said. "That allowed him to go to his secondary pitches." Notes: Padres SS JasonBartlett (paternity leave) is expected to rejoin the team Wednesday. On Sunday he and his wife had their second child, a boy. ... Padres 3B ChaseHeadley (strained right calf) missed his third consecutive game but might be back in the next day or two, Black said. ... The Padres have won eight of their past 10 games in Miami. ... The announced attendance was 17,101, but the actual crowd on a drizzly evening was less than 5,000. That included a large cheering section for Padres 1B AnthonyRizzo, who grew up in South Florida. cheap jerseys ' ' '

Stuard finished with a 6-under 66, dropping a stroke on the par-4 seventh hole his 16th of the day in gusts of up to 20 mph (32 kph) at Trump International Golf Club-Puerto Rico. "Wind is blowing pretty good out there, so got to hit some good shots," Stuard said. "I did well. I kept it in play nice off the tee, didnt get in much trouble, and only made the one bogey." The highest ranked player in the field in the FedEx Cup standings at No. 13, Stuard finished second in November in the OHL Classic in Mexico. He also had a strong run in January, fishing sixth in the Sony Open in Hawaii and sixth the next week in the Humana Challenge in California. "Ive just been playing pretty solid, but been putting well," Stuard said. "I putted really good to start off the year and then kind of last few weeks not quite as good and then good today." JasonGore and DannyLee shot 67, and Y.E.Yang was another stroke back along with RickyBarnes, WilliamMcGirt, TimPetrovic, Chesson Hadley, EricAxley and BenMartin. "It wasnt easy out there," Lee said. "It was very windy, and theres some tough pin placements out there, but I played very smart today and I hit it where I wanted to hit it, and I rolled it really nicely with the putter. It was a really good day for me." Defending champion ScottBrown opened with a 70. Brooks Koepka, a field-high 70th in the world ranking, shot 72. Justin Upton Jersey . -- The Erie Otters won their eighth straight game with a four-goal outburst in the third en route to an 8-4 win over the Sarnia Sting in Ontario Hockey League play Saturday. The Toronto Blue Jays will look to build on a convincing 7-3 win as they host the Boston Red Sox in the third game of four at Rogers Centre tonight. Torontowillsend R.A.Dickey, who has lost six of his last seven starts, to the mound. Dickey lost to Texas on Friday and was hit for five runs and six hits in seven innings. However, he did strike out seven batters without issuing a walk, but still fell to 7-10 with a 3.95 ERA. Dickey is 3-3 in 12 games (6 starts) versus the Red Sox with a 4.85 ERA. His opposition on the mound, ClayBuchholz, has been on point of late for the Red Sox, winning three of his last four decisions, including his last two starts. After tossing a three-hit shutout to beat Houston before the All-Star break, Buchholz defeated Kansas City on Friday, limiting the Royals to four runs and 10 hits in six innings to run his record to 5-5 to go along with a 5.46 ERA. After getting hammered in Mondays opener, Toronto bounced back on Tuesday, as JoseReyes, MelkyCabrera and DionerNavarro all drove in a pair of runs to help the Blue Jays to a 7-3 win. Navarro doubled and homered, while Reyes added a solo shot among his three hits and Cabrera finished 3-for-5 for tthe Blue Jays, who rebounded from Mondays series-opening 14-1 loss. JakePeavy (1-9) lasted 6 1/3 innings, and was charged with five runs on eight hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. "Its frustrating to lose," said Peavy. "Run support and no run support, its not fun to lose." "I gave up some loud outs and some loud hits for the first couple of innings, but thats another team that swings the bat, and they put some balls in play that found some holes and led to a couple of runs," Buchholz said Friday. "The way the guys fought back tonight ... that was reminiscent of last year." Buchholz is 1-1 against the Jays this season and 10-6 lifetime against them with a 2.71 ERA in 20 games (19 starts). CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to a two-year contract with free agent forward Matt Carey. Jonathan Lucroy Jersey . The 22-year-old Carey had 18 goals and 19 assists in 38 games this season as a freshman at St. Lawrence University. The Blackhawks announced the move on Thursday. Ryan Braun Jersey . Blown save in the ninth inning? No problem. Robin Yount Authentic Jersey . The executive board of the Major League Baseball Players Association voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Clark to replace Michael Weiner, who died Nov.The Canadian world junior hockey team will be spending a couple of days bonding in Finland next week, but they may not need it. This is, in many ways, already a very close group. Many players on the team did not just celebrate their own success on Thursday, they also celebrated the success of a good friend. Here is a look at a few of those stories: I CANT BELIEVE IM ACTUALLY ON THE TEAM Niagara IceDogs linemates Brett Ritchie and Ryan Strome, who live with the same billet family, have been a dominant duo during the first part of the season. Strome leads the OHL in points (62 in 32 games) while Ritchie is tied for the lead in goals (27 in 32 games). "I thought, coming to this tryout, that if we could make this team together it would be special," said Ritchie. "Weve known each other for a long time so its pretty cool." And Strome, a returning player and thus considered a lock to make the squad from the start, always believed Ritchie would be joining him in Russia. "I told him before the camp he has nothing to worry about," said Strome, an Islanders prospect. "He played well the first night and solidified his spot, but he was still nervous. He asked me going down to dinner [right before the final cuts] if he had anything to worry about, but I said, No, youre fine, you have nothing to worry about." But Ritchie wouldnt believe it until the end. "I never really thought I was going to be on the team until it was actually official," he said. "Its sort of hard to explain actually, you know, obviously I was really nervous. Its more relief than anything. I cant believe Im actually on the team." Despite all the emotion that came with the final team selection on Thursday, Strome and Ritchie had no problem taking shots at each other. "Hes a bad driver and hes on his phone way more than I am," said Strome when asked to name one thing people dont know about Ritchie. "Thats a lie," countered Ritchie. "Im not a good driver, but he wins the award for most time spent on his phone. Three batteries a day! Texting, Twitter, the whole bit. "Hes better than me at [the video game] Call of Duty. Ill give him that." TWO MOOSEHEADS BETTER THAN ONE One of the biggest stories of the camp was the play of Halifax linemates Nate MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin. Both 17-year-olds made the final roster, joining Sidney Crosby as the only first-time draft-eligible players to make the Canadian junior team when the NHL is in the midst of a work stoppage. "Were pretty similar," Drouin said earlier this week. "We always hang out a lot and it helps our on-ice chemistry. Were best friends off the ice." "Were both competitive guys," said MacKinnon, "and we want the same thing so personality-wise it kind of clicks and weve been friends ever since he got to Halifax last year." Canadian head coach Steve Spott pplayed MacKinnon and Drouin on the same line at points during the selection camp, but despite their good chemistry doesnt plan on using them together at the tournament in Ufa, Russia. Jonathan Lucroy Brewers Jersey. . "One thing I will say: you wont see them on the same line," said Spott. "That could morph into a situation later, but not at the start." I DONT THINK ID BE WHERE I AM WITHOUT HIM Barries Anthony Camara was considered an underdog to make the team when camp opened on Tuesday, but played his way onto the squad with his Colts teammate Mark Scheifele cheering him on every step of the way. "He helped me out a lot actually" said Camara, who is tied for fourth in the OHL with 22 goals in 30 games. "I dont think Id be where I am without him. From day one he was a big help. Coming here he told me what to do." "Cammys a great player," said Scheifele. "Ive got to know him over the last year-and-a-half. Weve been roommates since last December. "I just told him to play his game and be physical, use your body, use your assets, hes a big guy, a strong kid, he can do it all. He scored (Thursday) in the game, he was laying the body all week and I think thats a huge thing. He brought everything he could to the table. I think the coaching staff noticed that he really wanted it and I knew he wanted it since the start of the year. "I couldnt be happier for him." HES PROVEN EVERYBODY WRONG Owen Sound goalie Jordan Binnington didnt find out he made the team until he got a call from a good friend on Thursday afternoon. "I was sitting in my hotel room watching Scooby-Doo actually, just trying to do anything to take my mind off it, but then I got a phone call from Ryan Murphy who told me [Edmonton goalie] Laurent Brossoit had been cut so it was a nice thing to hear for me. "I thanked him for that call. I wouldnt have known for a little bit there, but Im glad its all over with." Binnington, from Richmond Hill, Ont. and Murphy, from Kitchener, Ont., have known each other for awhile and hang out in the same group of friends. Needless to say, Binnington was happy that Murphy, a Kitchener Rangers defenceman, who was cut the two previous years at the junior camp, made the team as well. "He deserves it," said Binnington. "He battled hard all camp. He was nervous. He didnt want to be Dan Cleary (the only player to be cut three times and never suit up for Canada at the tournament) but hes proven everybody wrong and hopefully hell show well in this tournament." WHATS NEXT The players will take a team picture on Friday before once again meeting with the media. On Saturday the team will hold its first full practice before departing for Finland where a pre-tournament camp, including games against Sweden and Finland, will be held. The tournament opens on Boxing Day with Canada facing Germany on TSN at 4am et/1am pt. cheap jerseys ' ' '

After a bit of a slow start at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the United States is right up there in the overall medal standings. Andre Ethier Authentic Jersey . Seven days into the competition, the U.S. began the day with four gold, two silver and six bronze medals. They are ranked fifth and have the second largest total amount of medals (12) behind Norway. Team USA has produced medals in alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, figure skating, luge and snowboarding. The glaring omission: long track speed skating. Coming into these Games, the U.S. was third in the all-time long track speed skating standings with 67 total medals and they lead in overall gold with 29. Its been 30 years since the U.S. didnt win at least one speed skating medal at the Olympics. In Sochi, Americans Brittany Bowe and Heather Richardson were the undisputed gold medal favourites in the womens 1,000 meters. Between the two, they won every World Cup race this season but in Russia they finished seventh and eighth. Shani Davis was expected to complete his historic three-peat in the 1000m and yet he finished eighth. No American has finished better than seventh place so far. In a sport where races are decided by hundredths of a second, the talk in Sochi has been about the new Under Armour suits U.S. skaters are wearing. Developed in secrecy in corporation with Lockheed Martin, the Mach 39 as it is known even looks uncomfortable to the untrained eye. A ventilation panel on the back is possibly to blame for taking in air, which hinders skaters from achieving the deep squatted stands required to deliver the ultimate stride. Then there is the U.S. training facility. American skaters have been preparing for Sochi in a building that hosts the fastest ice on the planet in Salt Lake City. The oval is on altitude which ensures fast conditions. However, the Adler Arena in Sochi is on sea level and its properties are completely different. The ice is considered slow where skaters need to rely less on technique and finesse and more on stamina and sheer determination. Team Canada trains on altitude in Calgary and perhaps it is not a coincidence that Denny Morrisons memorable silver moment is the only Canadian medal in Sochi so far. Time is running out for the U.S. long track team - and for Canadas - with only six medal events left at these Games. Both countries have slim medal hopes in the mens 10,000m and the womens 5,000m. The 1,500m - often considered the crown jewel of long track - is wide open but other than that, medaling at the team pursuit is needed to prevent historic lows. Jackie Robinson Jersey . Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Buddy Robinson scored 43 seconds apart in the second period to lead the Binghamton Senators to a 4-1 victory over the Bulldogs in American Hockey League action Friday night at the Bell Centre. Clayton Kershaw Dodgers Jersey ... thanks to every "buddy" that was involved.DOVER, Del. - Tony Stewart let his secret out this week on Twitter: He was back testing in a sprint car, feeling like hed never left. So when will he race again? Well, Smoke didnt need 140 characters to let reporters know if hed make public the date of his return race. "Nope." Stewart kept mum Friday about any future plans in sprint cars, more than nine months after he broke his leg in a crash that cost him the rest of the 2013 season. He did complete a recent private test at an undisclosed track. The rest is for Stewart to know, and the racing world to find out. "You wont know when its coming," he said at Dover International Speedway. "When I do go, nobody is going to know about it. Im going to slide in and do it. I want to enjoy it. I dont want it to be a cluster." The three-time NASCAR champion missed the final 15 races last year after breaking his leg in two places during a sprint car crash in Iowa. His first time back in a race car was Feb. 14, the day before he competed and was crashed out of the exhibition Sprint Unlimited. His sprint car had been fitted with safety improvements to the torque tube to prevent an injury like the one he suffered. Stewart said no one had tried to talk him out of returning to his weeknight passion. But if they had, well, the feisty champ known as Smoke wouldnt listen anyway: "Its my life. Im going to live my life." Stewart cleared the mental and physical hurdles of returning to racing at Daytona months ago. And while his Sprint Cup season hasnt been a huge success hes winless in 12 starts with only two top-five finishes he hasnt missed a beat in driving and running his Stewart-Haas Racing organization. He also needs to fix whatever ails his No. 14 Chevrolet team. He hasnt finished higher than 13th in any of his last four races and crashed out at Talladega. Hes a woeful 22nd in the standings and in serious danger of missing out for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship and driving for his fourth title if cant win a race. That could happen any time Stewart has 48 career wins and has at least one checkered flag in every season of his Cup career that dates to 1999. "Our track record shows that we can get it," he said. "Its just a matter of when is it going to happen. ... I think you get six or eight weeks before Richmond, then you start panicking if you dont have that win. " Stewart does have three career wins at Dover, including the spring race last season that snapped a 30-race winless skid. He was stuck in 20th in the standings then, a sure sign that all takes is that one checkered flag to snap Smoke back into the thick of contention. The Boston Red Sox are without question the team of the last decade. Julius Thomas Elite Jersey . Theyre won three World Series titles in the last 10 seasons. However the Bosox havent matched the dynastic run of their their most ferocious rivals, the Yankees, who won five Fall Classics between 1996 and 2009 in seven tries over a run of 14 seasons. The most amazing part of that run occurred between 1996 and 2000 when they won four times in five years. The genesis of this run began in 1994, when the Yanks had the best record in the American League going when the season was shut down in August due to a labour dispute that wasnt settled until the following April. In the slightly shortened 05 season, they made the post-season. After going 95-67 under Joe Torre, the Yanks were knocked out by the Angels in the division series. But that was only the beginning. Though their record fell off a bit in 1996 to 90-72, New York was the top team in the American League and ultimately beat Atlanta 4 games to 2 to win their first World Series title since 1978. Four constants in their everyday line-up would emerge in TinoMartinez at first, DerekJeter at short, BernieWilliams in centre field and Paul ONeill in right. The Yankees starting rotation in 96 was largely made up of star pitchers culled from other teams, such as KennyRogers, Jimmy Key, Dwight Gooden and DavidCone. The two homegrowns were AndyPettitte and RamiroMendoza. That would change over the next few years as the Yankees developed some of their own and made some big international signings. In their glory years, the Yanks bench was always populated with veteran stars. In 1996, it was the likes of Tim Raines, Darryl Strawberry and Cecil Fielder. Their depth was extraordinary. Though they stumbled in 1997, the Yankees bounced back with their greatest season of this five-year run going 108-54 and sweeping San Diego in the 1998 World Series. By this time JorgePosada had replaced JoeGirardi as the starter behind the plate, and ChuckKnoblauch had taken over as the second baseman. But Martinez, Jeter, Williams and ONeill were still driving the engine and MarianoRivera had emerged as a star closer with 36 saves this particular season. The bench was populated with the likes of Chili Davis, Raines and Strawberry and the rotation featured three men who pitched over 200 innings in AndyPettitte, DavidWells and DavidCone. They were augmented by HidekiIrabu of Japan and Cuban OrlandoHernandez. In 98, the Yanks had two players who drove in over 100 runs, another with 98 and yet another with 97. This team was loaded in every sense of the word. In 1999, the Yanks win total fell off from 108 to 98. But they were no less of a force. There was only a little bit of tweaking to the every day line-up, with RickyLedee supplanting Chad Curtis in left and Chili Davis taking over the bulk of the DH duties. RogerClemens, who was searching for that first World Series victory, was the new face in the rotation. The Rocket had been picked up in a package deal with the Blue Jays that sent DavidWells, HomerBush and GraemeLloyd to the Jays. Rivera chalked up 45 saves, and the big four of Martinez, Jeter, Williams and ONeill each drove in over 100 runs. The Yankees swept to a second straight World Series victory, taking out Atlanta for the second time in four years. In 2000, the Yankees were bidding to become the first team since the Oakland As from 1972-74 to win three straight World Series. Outside of ShaneSpencer taking over the bulk of the DH duties, the Yankees starting line-up was basically unchanged. The starting pitching was starting to fade a bit though. Three of the starters finished .500 or below. DavidCone was nearing the end of a fantastic career and finished 4-14. Lefty DennyNeagle strugged in the Big Apple, going 7-7 and OrlandoHernandez was only 12-13. Twenty starts had to be made by plug in pieces including nine by swingman Mendoza and five by Dwight Gooden. The Yankees as always had that power-laden bench. David Justice and Glenallen Hill combined for 36 homers and 89 runs batted in, with JoseCanseco nearing the end of his career and adding six homers and 16 RBI. The Yankees still had enough left in the tanks to get back to the World Series for a third straight year, where they defeated their cross-town rivals the Mets 4 games to 1. No team has even won back-to-back World Series since the Yankees scored their trifecta, though the Giants did win in 2010 and 2012. Ive just got a feeling with the ever-increasing local TV deals and the parity in the game, it will be a very long time if ever, before we see another three-peat. Wishful Thinking This is purely speculation and wishful thinking by the New York media, but Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York wondered aloud over the weekend if there was some way the Yankees could acquire JoseReyes from the Blue Jays after the coming season to replace the retiring DerekJeter. The theory being, if the Jays have another rocky season, they just might swing into rebuild mode and be willing to deal Reyes for a package of younger players. Reyes greatly admires Jeter and still makes his off-season home on Long Island, but trading him to the Yankees doesnt make much sense. If Reyes has a great season, you keep him. If he gets hurt again, or simply has a lousy season, his market value would be low and the Yankees wouldnt want or need him anyway. But as I said, stranger things have happened. Tanaka Watch Yankees skipper JoeGirardi has left the door open for Masahiro Tanaka to start either the third our fourth game of the regular season. If it is the third, its against the Houston Astros. However, if it is the fourth game Tanaka would make his Major League debut in the Blue Jays home opener at Rogers Centre. Heres hoping! Demaryius Thomas Womens Orange Jersey . For now, JoeGirardi and the rest of the New York Yankees are just thankful they have the Japanese right-hander pitching like one of the best in baseball. Ronnie Hillman Jersey . The import DB was taken to a nearby hospital after catching his head awkwardly trying to tackle Winnipeg running back Will Ford in the first quarter of the game at the Rogers Centre.RIFUGIO PANAROTTA, Italy -- Julian Arredondo claimed the biggest win of his career with a solo victory on the 18th stage of the Giro dItalia on Thursday, while Nairo Quintana retained the overall leaders pink jersey as the race returned to the mountains. The 25-year-old Arredondo had been part of a breakaway and made his move with just under four kilometres (2.5 miles) remaining to ride alone up the summit finish to Rifugio Panarotta. The Colombian had time to raise one arm into the air as he crossed the finish line, 17 seconds ahead of Fabio Duarte. Philip Deignan was 20 seconds further back at the end of the 171K (106-mile) leg from Belluno. "Its a win that Ive really searched for," Arredondo said. "I said it from the start, Im in this Giro to win at least one stage, and its from the start that I have been trying. "Until today, I managed three second places and two third places, I was only missing a win and we got that today. Weve tried so much and at the end we managed it. So tonight well celebrate." Quintana remained 1:41 ahead of fellow Colombian Rigoberto Uran, with Pierre Rolland moving into third place as former race leader Cadel Evans slipped to ninth. Rolland is 3:29 behind Quintana, two seconds ahead of Fabio Aru and Rafal Majka. "Today was a calm climb, but there were several attacks, I managed to control all of them which concerned my position," Quintana said. "Each cyclist should worry about their own race. The team worked very well. "I am very happy with how things are going, there is a good atmosphere, there is joy in the team. Also the Italians are cheering me on, they are supporting me during the race, I am very happy with the warmth that we are feeling on the Giro route. Aqib Talib Womens White Jersey. " Victorias Ryder Hesjedal, the 2012 Giro champion, moved up two spots to seventh overall after finishing 16th in Thursdays stage. He is 4:32 behind Quintana. Svein Tuft of Langley, B.C., is in 155th spot after finishing 142nd in Thursdays stage. A group of 11 cyclists escaped on the first categorized climb of the day, up San Pellegrino, and they managed to open up an advantage of 1:50 on the approach to the steepest part of the climb, which had gradients of 15 per cent. Arredondo, who currently leads the King of the Mountains standings, attacked three kilometres (two miles) from the summit to pick up maximum points. Deignan was just behind Arredondo, with Cataldo 40 seconds slower, but the breakaway was back together on the descent and three more riders joined it from the peloton. The peloton hit the top of San Pellegrino four minutes behind Arredondo and the gap grew to twice that, with the favourites opting to conserve their energy. The leaders maintained a significant advantage on the second climb -- the Passo del Redebus -- and had a 7:27 gap on the final climb of the day. Thomas De Gendt attacked at the foot of the ascent, with 16 kilometres (10 miles) remaining, but the Belgian was caught and passed by Arredondo, Duarte and Deignan with six kilometres (3.7 miles) to go. Back in the overall contenders group, Rolland made his move with just over two kilometres (1.24 mile) remaining to move into a podium position, while Aru also gained time on Quintana with a final surge to the line. Fridays 19th stage is an individual mountain time trial, which could prove crucial ahead of the Giros final weekend. cheap jerseys ' ' '

Hes one of eight receivers to in NFL history to have at least 55 catches and 750 yards in each of his first four seasons in the league. "Im excited to see Jeremy play in our offence," Kelly said. "You saw the potential of that in the spring and summer but obviously he didnt get an opportunity last year. However, what was great to see was how he was literally here every single day since being injured. You can see he has a passion for the game of football. When he was on the field last spring and summer, you saw his intelligence, you saw his great route-running ability and you saw how tough of a one-on-one match-up he could be." The NFC East champion Eagles had a busy week before signing Maclin on Friday. They gave new deals to wide receiver RileyCooper and centre JasonKelce on Thursday and extended All-Pro left tackle JasonPeters contract Wednesday. "Jeremy is an ideal player for our scheme with his combination of size, speed, strength and route-running ability, in addition to his dynamic playmaking talent," general manager Howie Roseman said. Jackson threw five full innings of two-hit, shutout baseball before a leg injury sent him to the showers. However, Haerther went four-for-four with three singles and a double, three runs scored and two RBI and capped a sensational week as the Fish beat the Hogs 5-2. With the win, the Goldeyes improved to 18-9 on the season, first in the American Associations North Division. They won their fourth straight game and swept Grand Prairie in this three-game set with wins of 7-6, 8-1 and 4-1. The Goldeyes also improved their home record to 6-4 this season. For Haerther, it was an incredible series. He went 11-for-13 (.846) with three homers, six runs scored and nine runs batted in. His average is now a monstrous .391, best in the American Association. "You have to ride these things as long as you can because they dont come around very often," Haerther said. "Im seeing the ball real good right now. Im also getting good pitches to hit. Im swinging at the pitches I choose to hit and Im not swinging at the pitches the pitchers want me to hit. Im getting deeper into counts and Im not afraid to hit with two strikes. It almost feels like youre not trying. Im just gonna keep doing what Im doing." The Golldeyes, who pounded out 14 hits, opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the second. cheap nfl jerseys. CALGARY - Bo Levi Mitchell used his legs to get things started and then relied on his arm to lead the Calgary Stampeders to a bounce-back victory. Nate Solder Patriots Jersey . Mitchell ran for an eight-yard touchdown in the first quarter and then threw for three more TDs in the second as the Stamps cruised to a convincing 38-17 win over the expansion Ottawa Redblacks in Saturdays lone CFL game. "It felt good to get out there and put some points on the board," Mitchell said. "It should have been a lot more, 28 points in the first half and then some missed opportunities in the second half." After suffering his first loss as a starting quarterback in Calgarys 25-24 loss to the B.C. Lions on Aug. 1 at home, Mitchell rebounded to complete 26-of-36 passes for 289 yards against the Redblacks. "Bo played well," said Calgary coach and general manager John Hufnagel. "Im sure theres some throws that he wished he had back, but he played 60 minutes of good football and put some points on the board." Jeff Fuller, Marquay McDaniel and Jabari Arthur all caught TD passes for the Stamps (5-1), who moved into a tie with the Edmonton Eskimos atop the CFL West Division standings. "It was good to get going especially on offence," said McDaniel, who finished with nine catches for 117 yards. "We havent been consistent the last few weeks. That was our main focus. As a receiving corps, we feel like its on us to get this offence going." Rene Paredes chipped in with a three field goals, while Rob Maver kicked a single. Former Calgary quarterback Henry Burris threw a touchdown pass to Wallace Miles, while Chevron Walker had a rushing TD for the Redblacks (1-5). Ottawa kicker Brett Maher also had a field goal in the fourth quarter when the score was out of reach. "Im choosing to not consider ourselves like an expansion team," said Ottawa coach Rick Campbell. "I want to win. I think we have some pieces of the puzzle in place here to compete and win some games. Were going to do everything we can to play good guys and put them in the best position we can to have success." Burris, who went 20-for-29 for 281 yards, also threw a pair of interceptions in a losing cause. "Im just ready to start winning period," Burris said. "This would have been a big win especially on the road. Calgary gave us some opportunities. Winning teams take advantage of opportunities. We just found other ways to shoot ourselves in the foot and make it tough on ourselves." The Stamps started their second drive of the game with great field position at the Ottawa 41-yard line thanks to a 52-yard punt return by Jock Sanders. Six plays later, Paredes lined up to kick a 15-yard field goal, but Calgary executed a perfect trick play as Mitchell instead lined up under centre and took a quick snap before running for an eight-yard touchdown. "Its the kind of coaching staff we have," Mitchell said. "Theyre a go-get-it team. They definitely wanted to say, Hey were on our first drive, lets go get some momentum. The guys made some great blocks, got the hole open for me and we got in." Early in the second quarter, the Stamps extended their lead to 14-0 when Mitchell tossed a 17-yard TD strike to Fuller to cap off a quick four-play, 44-yard drive. The early onslaught continued as defensive back Jamar Wall picked off an errant pass by Burris at midfield to end Ottawas best first-half drive to that point. "Its always nice to have an interception," Wall said. "That was my first one this year. Im pretty excited. Hopefully theres more to come." Nine plays and 60 yards later, McDaniel caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Mitchell to give Calgary a commanding 21-0 lead. The Redblacks earned a measure of redemption when Jasper Simmons intercepted a pass by Mitchell and ran it back 29 yards deep into Calgary territory. On the next play, Calgary linebacker Keon Raymond was penalized for pass interference on Ottawa receiver Carlton Mitchell as well as objectionable conduct to give Ottawa the ball on the one-yard line. Walker promptly plunged across the goal line to get the Redblacks on the scoreboard. The Stamps answered right back as Anthony Parker returned the kickoff 44 yards before Mitchell engineered a five-play, 51-yard drive that culminated with a 17-yard TD pass to Arthur. The offensive woes for the Redblacks continued early in the third quarter as Burris was picked off by Calgary defensive back Joshua Bell, who ran it back 43 yards to the Ottawa 12-yard line. This time, the Stamps were unable to find the end zone and had to settle for a 12-yard field goal by Paredes. Late in the third quarter, Burris capped off an eight-play, 75-yard drive by tossing a 32-yard touchdown pass to Miles before Maver booted a 53-yard punt single to put Calgary up 32-14. After Maher kicked a 32-yard field goal for Ottawa early in the fourth quarter, Paredes responded by booting field goals from 40 and 30 yards out respectively to round out the scoring. Notes: Calgarys Martell Mallett left the game late in the second quarter with a leg muscle injury and didnt return. The Stamps are already without the services of fellow running backs Jon Cornish and Matt Walker, who are both out with concussions. Since the start of the 2008 campaign, Calgary has compiled a record of 26-6-1 the week after a loss. The Stamps have never lost more than two games in a row with John Hufnagel serving as coach and general manager. Calgary defensive lineman Charleston Hughes extended his streak of consecutive games with a sack to six. The announced attendance at McMahon Stadium was 28,391 although it appeared as though considerably fewer fans were in the stands. Brandon LaFell Patriots Jersey . The reported price for the Jays was MarcusStroman and AaronSanchez. Would you make that deal? The Blue Jays are in first place in the AL East.Stephen Gostkowski Official . First, IvanNova decided to have season-ending Tommy John elbow surgery. Then MichaelPineda was suspended for 10 games for using pine tar. After those developments were announced Thursday, Sabathia went out and threw six solid innings in his second straight strong start and New York beat the sloppy Boston Red Sox 14-5. "Hes taken the mindset since spring training he needs to be the ace of this staff," Yankees catcher BrianMcCann said. "He gave us a great outing." He had plenty of help from both teams. Yangervis Solarte drove in four runs, JacobyEllsbury had three hits and three RBIs and MarkTeixeira hit his first homer of the season. Bostons contributions included five errors, 12 walks -- five by knuckleball throwing utilityman MikeCarp in the ninth -- three wild pitches and a passed ball. The Red Sox also allowed three stolen bases, all in the third inning. "The sooner we move past this one the better," Boston manager John Farrell said. Sabathia (3-2) struck out eight while allowing two runs on three hits in six innings as the Yankees rebounded from a 5-1 loss Wednesday night in which Pineda was ejected in the second inning for having pine tar on his neck. "It felt good to get a win. I just wanted to have a good outing," Sabathia said. "I know our bullpen has been taxed." After allowing at least four runs in each of his first starts, he rebounded with a one-run, seven-inning performance at Tampa Bay a week before facing Boston. "CC can be a guy to get on some rolls," New York manager JoeGirardi said. The costliest stretch for the Red Sox was the first three innings when they fell behind 7-0. They made four errors, allowed three stolen bases and had a wild pitch and passed ball. "Every team goes through slumps hitting, goes through slumps defensively," Boston shortstop XanderBogaerts said. "Its part of the game. Were definitely going to get better. Thats not the kind of team that we are." FelixDoubront (1-3) retired the first two batters of the game before CarlosBeltran reached on an error by Bogaerts and scored on a double by AlfonsoSoriano. The Yankees added three runs in the second. BrettGardner led off with a walk before second baseman DustinPedroia dropped third baseman BrockHolts throw for an error, allowing BrianRoberts to reach first. Jamie Collins Jersey. . Solarte then doubled in two runs, took third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch. Teixeira started the three-run third with his homer before Gardner reached on Doubronts error. Gardner stole second and third and scored on BrianRoberts single. Roberts stole second then made it 7-0 when Ellsburys single drove him in. Ellsbury took second on centre fielder Jackie Bradley Jr.s error but was stranded. Boston cut the lead to 7-2 in the third on a sacrifice fly by DavidOrtiz and an RBI double by Johnny Gomes. New York added five runs in the seventh when all nine batters against CraigBreslow reached base, including Beltran on a forceout at second. Solarte and DerekJeter had two-run singles and Ellsbury doubled in a run. Boston cut the lead to 12-5 in the bottom of the seventh, scoring on a double by Bogaerts, a sacrifice fly and a passed ball by McCann. DENVER - Once NateRobinson stopped worrying about missing shots, he started making them, and the timing couldnt have been better. Kerry Wood Jersey . Robinson and JordanHamilton each hit back-to-back 3-pointers to start the fourth quarter, helping the Denver Nuggets pull away for a 97-87 victory against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night. "Ive been battling little injuries, and been in a little slump, not wanting to take the shots I usually take just because I didnt want to miss them and hurt my team," said Robinson, who scored 10 of his 11 points in the fourth quarter. "But I got to the stage where Im like, Forget it. Just play and be you," he said. "Im no longer going to worry about missing shots. Im just going to shoot when Im open and play aggressive, get my teammates involved and play as hard as I can for as long as I can and enjoy the minutes that I get." Hamilton finished with 17 points to lead the Nuggets, who won their seventh straight against the Bulls at the Pepsi Center. J.J.Hickson had 14 points, KennethFaried had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and RandyFoye also scored 12 points. DerrickRose had 19 points for the Bulls, who snapped a five-game winning streak. Robinson, who spent last season with the Bulls, started a 12-0 burst when he hit successive 3s opening the final period. Hamilton matched him by making 3s on consecutive possessions, and the Nuggets lead ballooned to 82-62 with 9:40 left. "Hes a sparkplug, man," teammate TyLawson said. "Nate is never down and out, so if he misses through three quarters, hes going to come through in the fourth quarter. Thats what he did for us." Chicago managed to pull to 94-83, but Robinson responded by hitting a 12-foot bank shot to help quash the Bulls late momentum. "You cant let your guard down against them," Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau said. "I thought their bench hurt us. Hamilton had a big game for them, Nate had the two big shots to start the fourth, (Timofey) Mozgov hurt us in the paint. Lawson puts a lot of pressure on you, and (Wilson) Chandler puts a lot of pressure on you. Youve got to use your team to slow them down. "Our turnovers hurt us," Thibodeau added, "but the big thing is we gave them easy scoring opportunities. We should have been able to count on our defence. Ninety-seven points, 46 per cent (shooting), its too much." DarrellArthur hit a baseline jumper to give the Nuggets a 69-60 lead with 1:09 left in the third, matching their biggest lead of the night. Denver was in front 70-62 going into the final period. The Bulls outscored the Nuggets 8-2 in the last two minutes of the second quarter, pulling to 50-48 at halftime. Chicago hit the offensive boards in the surge, getting tip-ins from CarlosBoozer, LuolDeng and JoakimNoah during the sequence. NOTES: Chicagos MikeDunleavy started at shooting guard in place of JimmyButler, who is week to week because of a toe injury. ... Chicagos TajGibson was ejected with 1:15 left after drawing his second technical foul. ... Chicago hasnt won in Denver since a 110-107 victory on Feb. 8, 2006. ... Blown save in the ninth inning? No problem.ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- WesWelker says he has no apprehensions about concussions or rust as he returns to the Denver Broncos lineup Sunday for the first time in more than a month. Its the longest the 10-year pro has ever been sidelined. Welker missed the Broncos last 3 1/2 games after sustaining his second concussion in a four-week span just before halftime in a game against Tennessee on Dec. 8. The Broncos sorely missed him four days later in a 27-20 loss to San Diego, when they were just 2 for 9 on third down and suffered their only home loss of the season. Denver (13-3) hosts the Chargers (10-7) Sunday in the AFC Divisional round. "One of the first times Ive been out of the game on the sidelines, so Im very anxious to get back," said Welker, who was cleared last week during the bye and quickly regained his rhythm with PeytonManning. "Yeah, when youve played as long as I have it comes back pretty quick. I really wasnt too worried about that," Welker said. He also said hes not going to fret about the possibility of another head injury when he lines up in the slot Sunday. "I dont worry about the concussions or anything like that. I just focus on my assignment, my technique aand go out there and play the best I can," he said. Travis Wood Jersey. Welker caught a career-high 10 TD passes in his first season with Manning after spending his last six seasons catching passes from TomBrady in New England. He was on pace for his sixth career 100-catch season before being sidelined and finished with 73 catches for 778 yards. Welker was one of the several free agents the Broncos signed last winter in the wake of their devastating 38-35 double-overtime loss to Baltimore in the playoffs last year. "I suffered disappointment, too, last year," said Welker, whose Patriots were beaten by the Ravens 28-13 in the AFC championship a week later. "Im just as hungry as everybody else and want to get out there and play my best." With 15-25 mph winds expected, Denvers downfield passing attack to DemaryiusThomas and EricDecker might be curtailed against the Chargers, which could put an even bigger emphasis on Welkers routes. "I dont know if its going to be windy enough to affect the passing game or not but you just have to focus in and be ready," Welker said. "I think it will affect the kicking game more than anything if it is windy."cheap jerseys ' ' '

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. Brad Jones Womens Jersey . -- Danica Patrick has a two-year-old photo of her in the car at Daytona, on the receiving end of two thumbs up from Richard Petty. "Its a back shot of his butt sticking out," Patrick said, smiling. It had been the extent of the interaction between the pair -- just a playful sign of encouragement from the Hall of Famer to one of NASCARs most popular drivers after she won the pole at the 2012 Nationwide Series race at Daytona. On Thursday, Patrick spent most of her appearance at the Daytona 500 media day brushing off criticism from The King that the only way she could win a Sprint Cup race was "if everybody else stayed home." She refused to fire back at Petty, a seven-time champion, politely stating that he was entitled to his opinion. Patrick handled the comments much in the same way she dismissed Kyle Pettys remarks last year that "shes not a race car driver." "It has nothing to do with where it comes from," she said. "The people that matter the most to me are my team, my sponsors and those little 3-year-old kids that run up to you and want a great big hug and say they want to grow up to be like you. Thats the stuff I really focus on." Patrick talked at length about almost every topic but racing for the second straight year to kick off Daytona. She spent her 20-minute session last year answering questions about her new relationship with fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. This year, Stenhouse again was a hot topic, with people wanting to know: What are their Valentines Day plans? "I did say to him yesterday, Hey babe, I feel like I shouldnt be thinking about this because it should be your job, but would you like me to ask someone to make reservations at a restaurant?" she said. Odds are, the famous pair wont be asking the Pettys to join them for a bite to eat. Petty gave NASCAR plenty to chew on last week when he said Patrick only gets attention because shes a woman, but added that publicity is good for NASCAR. "If shed have been a male, nobody would ever know if shed showed up at a racetrack," Petty said. "This is a female deal thats driving her. Theres nothing wrong with that, because thats good PR for me. More fans come out, people are more interested in it. She has helped to draw attention to the sport, which helps everybody in the sport." Stenhouse said he was proud of the way Patrick handled the media glare. "I would not be happy if it was about me like that," he said. "But I think shes proved she can drive these race cars. Shes got a lot to learn. Heck, Ive got a lot to learn." Maybe theyll figure out why the Pettys have been so petty toward Patrick. "I dont know what their problem is," Stenhouse said. "But, hey, they have opinions and they like to talk." Dale Earnhardt Jr., long NASCARs most popular driver, said Petty was a "little rough" on Patrick. "Danica deals with more criticism than anybody else has ever faced in the sport," Earnhardt said. "She goes by a different set of rules because of her gender, and thats unfortunate. It seems like shes always having to answer to something like that, and thats a pain in her butt. "And frankly its just got to get old." Patrick drew national headlines to NASCAR in her Daytona Cup debut last season when she became the first woman to win the pole and raced up front for much of "The Great American Race." She led five laps and finished eighth. She never came close to duplicating that Daytona success the rest of the season for Stewart-Haas Racing. Daytona marked Patricks best finish during a rough rookie year in which she averaged a 26th-place finish. Patrick was 27th in the final Sprint Cup standings. Her learning curve figures to be steep one. Six-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson said Patrick would need at least five years to really get a feel for handling a stock car. Even Patrick, who had one win in her IndyCar career, knows she has plenty to learn. Shes winless with one top-10 in 46 career Cup starts and had only one top-five in 60 career Nationwide starts. Shell run the Nationwide race at Daytona the night before the 500. "Stock cars are not my background," she said. "Ive done two full years. One in Nationwide. One in Cup. I still feel like Im figuring stock cars out, and will for a long time." Brad Keselowski, the 2012 Cup champion, said he respected Pettys stance on Patrick and added his comments to the mix. "But I think its a long ways to go out there and say someone will never win a race," he said. "I wouldnt want my name behind that comment. So I think I would probably give a little more time and see how that one plays out because there are races where I think she can win." Like Daytona. Or Talladega. Restrictor plate races where just about anything can happen and often lead to unlikely winners. But at any other track? "I havent seen any indications that would make me think anything different than that," Keselowski said. Enough about The King, lets get back to the boyfriend. "Thats so much more fun," Patrick said. "I havent really done anything on the race track. What would you ask me if there was no fun things like there are today?"
